Green & Red.
That's right, Green & Red moonlight shines bright at the blue night sky as it occurred upon the Frontier town from a distance as a party of adventurers trekked at the dirt road away from said town.
The Party consists of a Lizardman, a dwarf, an elf, & two humans which one of them dressed in mostly white while the other was dirty and grimy with a helmet that covered all his head.
This was Goblin Slayer & his party after exterminating a Goblin's nest & returning home.
"Man~! I'm starving!" The elf stretched out her arms in delight.
"Then we should hurry & dine before your anvil gets flatter than it needs to be." the Dwarf snickered.
"Grr! Rich from coming from a beer barrel!"
"So you're proving my point?"
"Please calm down my fellow adventurers, we are all hungry. Isn't that right, Sir Slayer?" The Lizardmen licked his lips in anticipation, "I can not wait to pour that melted sweet nectar on some beef!"
"Hmm, I'll meet you guys tomorrow early morning as usual." came a monotone & almost mechanical voice from the helmeted exterminator.
Nearing the fork on the road, Goblin Slayer took the left path as he looked back to his trusted comrades, "I'll eat dinner from here."
"Bye Mister Slayer!" a light cheery voice from the Priestess as the rest of the party walked back towards town.
Slayer in his part, kept trekking the dirt path to his shared home with two of the most important people in his whole life.
A redhead girl with great assets waved from the doorway to greet him with her warm smile, a smile he should protect from goblins.
The girl unexpectedly walked down to him which is not part of the usual routine of him coming to the house to eat instead.
"Sorry, you have to wait a bit more for the stew to finish!" an apologetic & light voice came from the redhead.
"I see."
"Since we have to wait," Cowgirl grabbed her hands at the back as she twisted her torso left & right with her face dusted red, "do you mind lying on my lap for a while."
"Sure."
So both walked towards the plains then both sat down together but the Helmet adventurer laid his metal covered head at her soft thighs. Both stared at the night sky in peace with only each other.
"So, how was it?"
"There were goblins."
"Hmm, is there more?"
"It was a small nest & we rescued a village girl."
Silence befell her as she longingly eyed the Green Moon with much uncertainty. Goblins, that's what all has been, always goblins ruining everything & it won't be different from then, now or tomorrow.
As they both stared at the night sky, something miraculous unfolded before their eyes: a glowing light shone brightly then it started moving towards their direction leaving a streak of light as well.
A Shooting Star
It shined brightly as it made its way across & made its way in their general direction but it was so high up that it would probably fly past them.
But something more unexpected happened: More Shooting Stars
Like they were a rain of fire streaming down across but these ones were smaller & much faster than the Main Star that was gliding slowly.
For Cow Girl, it was the most spectacular light show that would probably only happen in her lifetime, "Woah~! Quickly, make a wish!"
"I see," Goblin Slayer watched as the streaks of light make it across behind them, "I wish all Goblins are dead."
The Girl he was lying upon could only deliver a deadpanned look but sighed to herself, "It was expected but do you wanna know my wish, Slayer-san?"
"Hmm."
"Well, my wish is-"
"Look, look, shooting stars!" High Elf Archer jumped wildly & pointed her index finger at the said stream of light.
"For a two thousand year old being, she still acts like some curious child rather than a wise elder." Dwarf Shaman commented.
High Elf Archer ignored him instead & still enjoyed the lights with Lizard Priest joining her. Priestess also wondered in fascination & wished for a quick recovery for the village girl they had saved from the wretched goblins.
But they should worry about that for tomorrow, for now they should trek along the dirt path towards Frontier Town.
The Heavy Warrior was resting his forearms on the fence of the bridge as he watched alongside his colleagues, Female Knight, Spearman who was leaning back against the fence, & Witch who was relaxingly smoking.
"Hmm what kind of wish did you guys make?" the sword wielder queried.
"You still believe that child stuff?" Spearman chuckled
"Why not? You know what?" Heavy Warrior smirked in mischief, "It probably involved a certain receptionist."
"Hrk!" a frustrated sound came from the spear wielder but it only received a chuckle from Heavy Warrior.
"What are your wishes, Female Knight?" He turned his left to the right to where the woman he asked.
"Oh um~! I prefer to keep mine private!" the Blonde woman had her face pink in embarrassment, (To be with you…)
"That's alright," Heavy Warrior closed his eyes & nods in response "what are your's, Witch?"
"Hmm… Mine is… the same… as well." She responded as she was mesmerized by the lights in the night sky.
A different Town could be seen surrounded by water & could only be visited by foot on the bridge it led to.
This was Water Town. People of all sorts; City folks, Adventurers, Guards & Acolytes also watched the Streams of fire in fascination, but a balcony from the Supreme God's Cathedral had the lone Sword Maiden frown in worry.
She worried that those fiery rocks might be more of those abominations Mount Doom that the Hero faced, but she already knew that whatever crash site it landed would probably be investigated by the local Adventurers & send the hero once again to finish it off.
Oh how right and wrong she was!
Error! Error!

The Black oblong shook violently as it entered the atmosphere with its thrusters from the back pointed at their fireside & tried its maximum effort to defy the gravity that it was being pulled down but it was futile since it only lessened the glowing front from the atmosphere's friction.
He looked left and right from the panel to see that scraps & rubble from the mothership he had destroyed were falling at greater speed & glowing in incredible heat from the friction.
He could only stiffen and braced for the inevitable impact as his smaller ship splintered countless trees with multiple SNAPS, the ship managed to clear through but it hit a rock in the way!
It smashed through & turned said rock into rubble, then it is now sliding on the grass to which was being turned into a dirt trench. It slowed until it stopped with an audible HISS.

A Big Black metal Pillar from nearby the crash site that still was having small flames from here and there revealed its top side to launch multiple metal winged automatons with a singular red eye & immediately scoured the sky as they activated their cloaking fields.

At last, a HISS echoed throughout the forest and came down a metal platform that revealed a Humanoid figure with Red Dreadlocks. Its visors from his silver-colored Bio Mask glowed bright yellow before enveloping itself in Red Light & disappearing into the night.
"GOROB!"
Cackles could be heard throughout the forest as short green humanoids surrounded a cart, miscellaneous items spread around the ground with Human corpses littered to compliment the carnage.
One of the wooden barrels hid a young boy. This young boy had already encountered goblins and was saved from the grimy-looking hero from the past but now he encountered them again.
He and his sister were supposed to hitch a ride and sell their wool & other local goods to Frontier Town then return to their village but on their way, they were ambushed by wolf riding goblins & his sister was immediately taken away before having her clothing ripped apart in front of him shocked him in worry & terror.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry…" it was all he could mumble under his hand-covered mouth.
Sniffle
"GORB?" one of the green monsters looked up then looked at the carriage carrying a barrel.
Fear. That's all he could feel as his eyes waterfall & snot leaking between his fingers.
"HEHEH!" the monster giggled as it grabbed the wooden barrel & pulled it harshly to the ground with an audible Thud!
The lid popped off & he immediately made for it but the boy was instantly shoved to the dirt by one of the goblins. Idiot! They think.
"P-Please spare me a-and, my sister!" His cries landed on sharp cruel green ears as the creatures cackled & kicked him non-stop as if he were a ball, "Somebody HELP!"
A warg lunge at him and started scratching from his stomach, then it started manhandling with it's jaws like some chew-toy, "STOP IT, IT HURTS!"
"Klukukukukukukukuku."
Maybe his cries were heard since a goblin from the far back was laughing to his content until…
"HRGH!?" something invisible gripped him from the nape and he was lifted to the air, he then felt a rough hand held at his collar bone. Then the hand on his collarbone started pulling down while from his neck pulled the opposite, "HEEYAAAH!"
He screamed in distress as his comrades looked back and their faces could only be described being utter Fear. To them, it might be the vengeful ghost of those they have tortured and it now thirst for goblin blood. It only fueled their superstition as Yellow Eyes flashed at them.
But the Boy took advantage of their distraction and hid under the carriage.
"AAH-RIP!" red waterfall came from under his decapitated head with the dead goblin's expression still that of terror, his head was simply tossed aside since it was an easy kill.
One of his comrades warcry, "GOROB!" with the intent of avenging his brother, he charged through but twin blades appeared from a red light & inserted in both his eye sockets.
His body was also lifted from said blades then a second pair appeared beside him and was used to decapitate his head too.
His eyeless head was then hid behind the invincible figure's back and was engulfed in red light then disappeared too.
The rest of the goblins gripped their spears and clubs in anger, then all of them charged to overwhelm this human-like figure.
But a club wielding goblin was punted across to be splattered at a tree. First Kill. His club was left behind due to the utter force and was taken mid air by an invisible hand.
A spear goblin intended to thrust but it got its weapon pulled by an invisible force but the goblin didn't let go, so then he was being spinned around the invisible figure instead. The intention was to use the goblin as an instrument to keep away the rest of it's comrades.
And it worked since a number of them were swatted away & slain in the process by the spear goblin's now broken body.
The spear wielding goblin was then flung at the wolf rider who was trying to flank around the trees & killed both from the impact, leaving the warg unscathed.
One of them tried to sneak up but his head was immediately crushed by an invisible limb and left a red-bloody footprint to where a pink & red mush remains.
A much taller, muscular and perhaps a chunkier goblin has now presented itself. The Hobgoblin charged through but the hob got a faceful of the wooden club from earlier.
While disoriented, two blades slashed across it's bloated belly & guts spilled out. The Hobgoblin in pain tried desperately to hold on to his intestines.
The figure ignored the Hobgoblin's agony as it turned his head at a goblin lunging at him but he quickly grappled the goblin's face with his palm.
"GRER?!" the goblin swayed its feet in a panic, it tried desperately slapping and scratching but it was futile.
CRUNCH!
He crumpled the head with ease and an explosion of blood painted his invisible body, so he growled in satisfaction akin to a large feline. He then tossed the slumped corpse aside as well.
"Grrr!" the riderless warg in front him made a stance and bared it's fangs, the silhouette also prepared a stance. The warg lunged but it was quickly dispatched with a quick slash from the stomach.
The silhouette looked back to hear that the Hobgoblin was sobbing and still holding on to his innards. He kicked the hobgoblin down with it's slashed belly facing the twin moons.
"GROROB!?" It cried mercy! in goblin tongue but it fell to a nonexisting ears as he was pulled from his belly and the figure lifted the hobgoblin above the boy's mysterious savior's head.
"GRAAA!" the Hobgoblin screamed as he felt his belly ripped open, blood and gore showered the cloaked menace as it roared in pride.
"RAAAOH!"
The Boy who was still hiding encountered the carnage in a metaphorical front-row seat, as he watched in terror yet wonder at the anomaly in front of him.
It then twisted it's drenched head at him which shook him greatly, so hurriedly crawled out but was grabbed from his shirt's collar and met it face-to-face or lack thereof.
It eyed him like a predator but to his surprise, he was gently put down. The Boy still gripped with fear, bolted down the dirt pathway.
"HELP, HELP!" He ran as fast and as far as his leg could get him. He didn't know how long he was running but it must've been awhile, "I need help!"
He managed to reach a clearing which showed a settlement glowing with numerous torches from the inside as the outside perimeter is wooden walls by a wooden wall of logs. Adult males on guard duty were snoring as they failed their main duty but immediately sprung themselves after hearing the wailings of the boy.
An orange headed young man with freckles and green eyes holding an axe on his right hand, came to greet the boy.
"Woah! Where's your sister!?" Lumberjack hugged the boy in comfort.
"G-Goblins took her!" he wailed as snot and tears flooded the Lumberjack's shirt but he didn't care since this was his future brother-in-law.
"Damnit!" Lumberjack cursed as hissed gripped to his axe became firmer.
"But tha-that wasn't all," the boy let go and started jabbing his finger at the forest, "there's an invisible beast out there!"
He sobbingly continued, "I-it ripped apart the goblins like they were loaves of bread!"
"Invisible monster?""It killed goblins?""Probably an owlbear"
"No, you don't understand! It was some kind of invisible man!" He cried but the reactions he received are nothing but disappointment and frustration.
"First beast, now a man? He totally lost it." one of the guards commented
A short wrinkled face women with white hair came by with her cane as she excuse herself between her villagers, this was their Village Matriarch. Only the oldest of their village become the elders that lead their village no matter if it is a he or a she.
"Easy yourself with the child," she planted her hand at the last guard, "what he saw must've distraught him to no end."
"Never underestimate Goblins. Their cruelty is deeper than a well, "She continued with her seemingly closed eyes wrinkled more into a bitter expression, "I know it, since my maidenhood was tainted from those green menaces."
"Bu-But the-"
"Shh~ it's okay child, you can rest at my place while the grownups solve this one out? Hmm~." She patted the boy's head at her equal height and was escorted by a village girl to the elder's place while she remained with the rest.
"We need to find Shepherd girl NOW!" Young Lumberjack yelled at his fellow villagers
"No, sonny." Village Matriarch held her hand up at him, "I know she's your lover but please think clearly in this dire moment."
"What is there to think of? Those goblins have her!" This comment earned him a blunt stab at his foot from the Village Matriarch's wooden cane, "Yowch!"
"First, we don't know the location of the goblins' nest. Second, all of you are not trained fighters." She turned her back, staring at the twin moons, "Third, we still have Bandits threatening us."
Then she looked down towards the dark forest as a sweat droplet trickled between her eyes and down to her nose.
"And Fourth, something is indeed out there."
"Good morning, everyone!" an audible thud was heard as Guild Girl slammed her stacks of paper, "You guys already know, quests are now available!"
"Yosh!" every adventurer in the room yelled in excitement. A crowd was formed around the board post as per usual. It would usually consists of mundane work from picking flowers to simple extermination jobs, treasure hunting, criminal & hunting bounties, guard work, and the few unusuals.
"How about this Owlbear problem?", "More rats!?", "Trolls roaming the area?", "Where's all the Goblin quests? Can't find any.", "Are those Missing Adventurers?"
"Missing adventurers?" Heavy Warrior took hold one of the posters and examined it further, "Hey, I just drank with these guys two days ago?!"
"What's this one?" Spearman grabbed a different flier with this one having an interesting description, "a group of goblins found savagely killed then skinned and gored while others are decapita-"
"Hmm…are you going…pick that one?" His long trusted partner, Witch queried.
"Nah~! This is something that Weirdo would probably deal with."
"Goblins?" speak of the die, the Frontier's Kindest has arrive. Scaring people half to death alongside his trusted teammate, Priestess.
"GEEZ! Don't do that again!" Spearman holding his chest as he heaved. From all the monsters he has faced, this guy will be an enigma to him forever, "You almost gave me a heart attack!"
"Sorry, I won't make the same mistake."
"It-its cool, anyway." Spearman passed the flier to Goblin Slayer as the exterminator examined the description also, "What do you think of this one? You're the Goblin Expert."
"Hmm, this is not normal."
"What's not normal?" High Elf Archer came out of nowhere and started peering at the paper from Slayer's shoulder to only form her face in revulsion, "Yeesh! Who's sick enough to do something like that!"
"Goblins."
"Of course that's your answer." truth be told, from all her adventures (if you could call it that) with Orcbolg she already seen what these green menaces could be capable of.
"Let us see!" Priestess exclaimed alongside Dwarf Shaman and Lizard Priest, then the whole founded a table with opened seats as they read it together.
"Two blades right at the sockets!? Head pulled from body!? Ho ho! What a way to go!" Dwarf Shaman slaps his belly in amusement.
"Skull taken? Hobgoblin gutted? Such savagery fills me with anticipation!" Lizard Priest pumps his chest with his fist.
"My Goodness! Those poor goblins!" Priestess prayed
"Hmm, that's less goblins." a monotone voice commented
"And that's a two days walk from here." High elf Archer read more.
Suddenly Heavy Warrior & his party came by to join them, "Hey I notice you all going to the same Village?"
"Yeah, mine too." Spearman intruded with his own paper which showed the missing adventurers.
"You guys switched?" Goblin slayer simply asked.
"Yep, Warrior here have a bigger party which is better for dealing small armies like Bandit Gangs. While Me and Witch here could investigate the missing adventurers, this party we met earlier is exceptionally strong so whoever dealt with them must be stronger.
Reading through the description more, it seems this rather large village that had good yield of farms, good quality animals, & other resources it provides could well be a new town. So it made sense that it will have numerous problems from Goblins to Bandits taking advantage of it's infantile stage to a town.
"What should you say? Team up?"
"Since these are technically separate quests with their own rewards…" High Elf Archer Pondered then smiled with excitement, "Then yeah we should!"
"Awesome! Can't wait to know you guys more."
"And kick evil butt!"
"Klukukukukukukukuku."
In a cave full of green-skinned corpses littered across the floor, a metal spear having goblin heads for a kebab, others already flayed & dangling from the ceiling, a goblin had it's torso ripped off, a hobgoblin missing its skull.
Said Skull is now being sprayed by a mist that eats away all of the green skin & flesh as bits fall off. The Skull is similar to an ooman but rows of teeth are sharper compared to their taller Counterpart.
It decloaked itself as it revealed that this Yautja had Red Locks, a simple Bio-mask, chest armor enveloping his entire chest area & shoulder blades, Metal armor dangle down with the width of said crotch as it protected his front belly with a twin counterpart that protected his spine but both left exposed his sides that revealed his netting & green skin.
Shoulder pauldrons, Arm armor, his right gauntlet is metal but his left gauntlet is designed with bones
He had thigh armor but it didn't cover near the crotch area & it was short enough so that his shin armor wouldn't disrupt his movements. His left shin had a Ceremonial Dagger, his right shin is attached to a Magnetically Projected Bolt Gun with a straight handle as if you would a dagger, less of a gun or a crossbow.
His feet are wearing metal claws that extend to help him climb and his has metal soles.
He took hold at the bloody skull and observe his handiwork, he then walked out of the cave & faced the rising sun. Feeling challenged by this new world, he held tags made from numerous materials from Emerald, Ruby, and Bronze, dangling it in front at the flare in satisfaction.
"RAAAOH!"
So he cloaked and leaped towards the abyss that is the Yautja's Paradise.
Okay, FanFiction is acting weird for me and I can't access chapter 2. So I recommend reading this story of the same title in either AO3 or Wattpad to continue to the next chapter, sorry.
