October 31

Today the goblins took me trick or treating. Jareth was supposed to but he was busy. Sarah made me a goblin mask. Tulby lent me his helmet. Larat and Maddy brought real spears and a drum and a horn for blowing. It made a fart sound. We blew it lots. Someone brought three chickens. They pecked Mrs Miller's bean plants to pieces. Tulby distracted Mrs Miller by peeing in her rose garden while we buried the pecked plants. She yelled worse than Mom or Sarah. We ran away. That was our only trick house. We got loads of candy. Maddy was the strongest so he carried my school bag with it all. I carried his spear.

Henry from school tried to take the candy from Maddy. Larat threw an egg at him. Mrs Cluck, the red chicken was in the bag, and pecked him on the hand. He ran away. We sang goblin war songs all the way home. Sarah was handing out candy. We weren't allowed any. She said we had too much already. She asked where Jareth was. No one knew. Sarah said a very bad word. The four-dollar kind. A whole dollar for each letter. Dad heard her. Dad doesn't yell. He just looks sad. Yelling is better. Sarah asked him sit at the door with the candy and stomped upstairs. Dad gave us each a candy bar. He said Larat had the best costume.

We played soccer in the back yard until we saw the light on in Sarah's room. We went up. Sarah wasn't there. We went through to the throne room. Jareth was funny. He was almost falling out of his chair with Sarah yelling at him so much. There was a baby in the room. We fed her candy. Sarah noticed and yelled at us. Jareth tried to sneak out but Sarah grabbed him. He dropped his glowing ball. Tulby and I caught it. We all ended up in the stone maze. There was this rude boy there. He owes the swear jar at least five dollars. Sarah yelled back. I could see Jareth wasn't really cross. He was hiding his smile with his hand. He pretended to be cross later when we were all back in the throne room. When he picked up the crying baby, we all quickly sneaked back home. The goblins, Hoggle and I ate all the candy. I felt a bit sick. We fell asleep on Sarah's bed. Sarah only came back at five in the morning. She couldn't yell because it was too early. She threw us out of her room. The goblins all hid under my bed. We wrote down all the words we could remember from the rude boy. Sarah is winning with the worst word. Jareth is in second place with the most words.
