*Knock knock knock knock* Sil grabbed a bathrobe. And headed to the door. What she saw when she opened the door put a damper on things.
'Relax like at the dentist, relax like at the dentist.' Sil's breathing was steadied.
"Oh, should've expected you. So… Do you always hide your face, or…" Arle asked.
"What are you here for?" Sil asked a bit roughly. Also a bit of a dumb question, she is wearing a mailman jacket and hat. 'HAH! So she's Raffine's slave. Nice to know.'
"Geez. I just wanted to make sure this was the right caravan."
Sil directed her finger and in turn, Arle's eyes, to the name plaque.
"Pierrot."
"It's Puh-Row…"
"Oh, sorry. Ah. It's a French name, that confused me."
Arle dug into her mailbag. "Mail." Sil silently took it. Her lips were tightly pressed together as she tried to keep breathing. "So, um… You got nice hair. Got a nice color, looks good loose like that. The long pigtails were a bit silly." Sil kept quiet. "I guess that's kinda the point… Look, I'm sorry for calling you a frog eater and-"
*SLAM!*
"What a jerk." Arle said when she recovered from the whiplash. "Can't say I didn't try to make up." She mumbled.
Chapter 46: Little Things
Sil paid her grandpa a visit. A social call. She had troubles, but she just wanted to meet with him and let him in on what happened. The possessed teddy almost didn't recognize her at her base on sensing her.
"You feel… Not empty, but you're not as magical as before. I thought I sensed a new Doppelganger. In other words, you scared me, kumakuma!"
Silvana explained Arle was back and that she sealed half of herself away.
Akuma was surprised. He patted on her head. Silvana took it like Amitie getting a perfect grade. That rarely happened, but oh so sweet when it did. "You never have made me so proud of you. Until now, mamama!" Akuma sounded like he couldn't believe what he was saying either. The affection of her Grampa made Sil feel giddy.
"Thanks, Gramps." She giggled. Made quick use of the stuffed animal.
"Becareful from now on. DON'T WANT TO RUIN IT, KUMA!"
"Thanks, Gramps…" She said more sarcastic.
They talked a bit. "Like at the dentist? YOU'VE GOT TO BE PULLING MY HIND LEG, MA, MA!"
"Nope."
"Hmmm. It has been a while since I had a body with teeth."
"Heheh. You ha-"
"I DON'T NEED A DENTIST, KUMA!"
*Blablablablah… KUMAKUMAKUMA! Blablablablablablah…*
"So, eh. I'm gonna spend some time in your library."
"Take your tea with you. As long you return it, ma, ma, ma, kuma!"
*Library*
"Hi, Klug." The clown walked up to the table her classmate was sitting at.
"Salutations, Silvana."
"May I have a seat, sir?" She said jokily in a high-class dialect, as she sat down before he could answer.
"Of course. But please do not do anything distracting. I'm close to cracking this troublesome riddle." He wrote stuff down.
"Okido." Sil opened the adventure book she picked out.
*One hour later…*
*Snrk Snrsnrsnrk* "Hmhmhmhmmmm~"
Klug gave the class clown the stink-eye. He went back to studying.
"Fufufufufu…"
*Stink-eye*
"Hahahaaa!"
"What's so funny!?"
Klug slammed the table. Ashamed of the noise he made. Sil kept on giggling. Sil answered when the eyes were off of them.
"This, ufufufu, this book reminded me that I died, fufufufu."
"And clearly it did wonders for your health. You're crazy."
Klug tried not to be uncomfortable.
"Have you tried it, Klug? Haaaa!"
"I'd prefer to stay alive for the time being."
"Yeah, 'prolly for the best. Have I thank for the flowers you gave me when I died?"
Klug adjusted his glasses.
"You have."
"Thanks for that anyway. Nice to know you care."
"It was the least I could do for such a talented sorceress and Akuma's relative such as yourself."
He acted aloof. Sil saw right through. "Did you have to say that as soon as I sealed some magic away?"
"What? Why!"
"To give you a fighting chance."
Sil lifted her mask slightly so she could pull out her tongue in a cheeky manner.
*Hours later…*
"I'm checking this book out. See ya at school."
"Farewell."
Arle and Carbuncle just happen to walk around the corner ready to check out a Primp history book. She saw Silvana leaving Klug's table.
He asked Klug about her deal.
"So she treats you with no respect? How strange… You and Raffine have that in common it seems."
"Who's Raffine?"
Author's Notes:
At one point I thought up that Akuma was Arle's surrogate grandfather too. And lived with him. At the time I thought this up I felt it was too late.
This chapter exists because of Sil's belated laugh at death.
Next up: Transformation malfunction.
