Ciel's vision was hazy as it faded in and out. His ears rang, muffling any sound. A quieted gunshot rang out and he could hear his husband calling out to him. Any attempt to answer came out as nonsensical babbling as his brain had been rattled and his head felt like it had been split open. Judging by the warmth flooding down his cheek on his left side, it most likely was. It's not surprising, given the fact that he was just clipped by an oncoming train. The entirety of his left side ached as if needles were being jabbed deep into his flesh and body- what he could feel at all, anyway.

Blackwood howled in pain as a bullet lodged itself into his right shoulder. Knowing that the man couldn't get far, especially since Alois could see green jackets and rifles coming out of their hiding places, the menace turned and hobbled to his feet. He ignored his own injury and gritted his teeth through the pain in his stomach while clumsily making his way over to his husband. Ciel was in very bad shape.

The entire left side of the man's face was covered in blood as his flesh was marred. His ear was still mostly attached by some miracle, but his leg was spun around in a position that looked a fraction of how painful as it was, and it was very. The Watchdog's toes were pointed toward the sky as he laid on his stomach and tried to get his head sorted, but he was in too much shock to form a thought, let alone a sentence.

"Ciel!" he could hear the blonde crying out, vaguely registering the other demon as he crouched at his side and examined him. "Oh, Ciel… Oh, God..."

Alois' heart fell into the pit of his stomach while tears began to fall. None of that was the worst of it. Ciel tried to prop himself up on his arms, but he only had one to stand on. Where the other was before was now a marred stump.

"Ciel… Oh, Ciel… Baby..." the menace sobbed, his salty tears mixing with the blood on his husband's cheek. The poor man looked confused and he was. Ciel hadn't the slightest idea what had just happened to him.

"Somebody help!" Roared the Lion at the soldiers.

A few stopped to tend to the wounded, calling someone to pick them up and take them back to base. A helicopter would be the fastest, but it would take a few minutes to prepare. In the meantime, they tried to perform basic first aid while another searched for the Phantomhive's appendage amoung the gore. The rest went looking for Blackwood, but the menace was too preoccupied to care. The mission lower on his list of priorities than Ciel was.

His spouse took priority over everything, especially since he didn't know if he was going to be alright. He certainly didn't look it. He was coughing, shaking, and sputtering. His eye was rolling into the back of his head and the soldier attending him said that his brain was damaged. Now, Alois had a bullet pass through his skull before and been alright, but he had never lost a limb. Ciel was desperately holding onto the blonde's hand with his remaining one, squeezing hard enough that Alois thought it might be broken as well. The part on the other side where his left hand was torn away bled profusely, draining the bluenette of the blood in his body more and more with each passing moment. Alois worried what was going to happen to it, crying hysterically as others attempted to force him away so that Ciel could be more properly attended to, but the demon's strength made it so that no matter how many men tried to hold him in place, he simply pulled them along with him. It didn't matter that he was injured, himself, either.

The Sudoku Killer was gone, having been killed instantly by the impact, while August could still move one eye. She was much more worse for wear. It was difficult for the rest of her appendages and organs to be found, as she had been torn to pieces and scattered along the tracks. All that she really had connected to "herself" was her left shoulder and part of her arm connected to part of her ribcage and head. When specialists arrived, it was determined that she would have no chance of ever recovering, despite still being technically "alive". Out of mercy, a single bullet was fired into her by one of her comrades. Her remains would be taken into one of the helicopters along with the other two demons- neither of which knew she was dead.

Alois refused to be separated from his beau and rode in the came copter as the Watchdog, but when they got to the base, they had to part. The menace had his own injuries that needed tending to, and Ciel needed all of the help he could get. More soldiers were able to hold onto him now, but they were not able to subdue him.

"Ciel!" the menace frantically screamed, face red and eyes wet. That was his husband- the light of his life, all broken and bloodied while being carted into a room where his eyes could not reach him. It was essential that he was near him, both to put his own mind at ease, but mostly to ensure the bluenette's well-being. Ciel was a blessing that he could not live without. If anything were to happen to him, he would never forgive himself, no matter to whom the fault of the matter lies with. He could not leave his love's side no matter what.

Ten fully-grown men weighting around or over two-hundred each could not hold him back. He was far too determined to reach his spouse and be near him. He could see the cooler with his husband's arm inside being carried in and he stepped forward, dragging the staff with him. It was only when covered his face with a good dose of rosemary infused gas that he was manageable. He slumped and his brawn wavered, although he was still adamant. He tried crawling on his hands and knees before he was finally unable to keep it up.

He, himself, was hauled off into another room and kept under sedation until the bullet was removed. After his eyelids fell, nightmares plagued him with visions of burying his beloved. The doctors were sure to make his sleep deep with no chances of him coming out of it too soon.

During this time, the soldiers left behind were still looking for Blackwood, who ran off during the confusion. Before the copters came, he managed to get quite an impressive ways away, for a human with a bullet in his shoulder. Most wouldn't be able to endure the pain of it, but Blackwood was corrupted with the diabolical power he was cursed with, giving him abilities and madness that few men could bear.

He ran, shoulder aching, blood staining his clothes, sweat pouring down his face as he panted. As fate would have it, he tripped, stumbling down a hill before crashing into a tree below. It took everything in him to contain his scream into a grunt

"Fuuucckk..." he whimpered, taking his hand away from his bad shoulder and placing it on his ankle. It was sprained. There was no good way out of this. All that there appeared to be for him to do was sit there and wait a HELLSING operative to find him and put him out of his misery.

No! There had to be a way! He had escaped from HELLSING each time before. Never before had he been caught, so surely, he would escape this time as well! All he needed was an opportunity!

A twig snapped on the other side of the tree, causing him to turn his head, but he really wished he hadn't. He did not meet a soldier there, but a blackened beast. Pitch-coloured horns extended toward the heavens while thunder erupted from its throat. Steam escaped from it's mouth as Blackwood looked up at the ungoldly creature with his single eye.

"Wh-" was all he could manage, over and over again. "Wh- whuh?"

Crimson eyes stared straight into the man's soul as the demon extended a hand. The gesture brought a nervous grin to the man's face as he let out a frantic chuckle. His chance had arrived. Taking the monster's hand, he said:

"Demon, don't let them get to me!: he ordered. "HELLSING will never take me alive!"

Sure enough, Blackwood got his wish, but perhaps not in the way he intended it. HELLSING did find him, but stripped naked and hanging upside down in the tree he previously had been leaning against, dead as a doornail. His body seemed uninjured, but there he was, his eye was still open, staring vacantly ahead while seeing nothing. Blackwood's greatest fear had been realised. No longer could he see the fantastical things that ordinary humans couldn't. No longer, was he special. He was just another corpse in a long trail leading up to him. The mission objective had been fulfilled, although not by HELLSING. Instead, the task was completed by the man who was currently hiking through the forest while wearing Blackwood's clothes, humming a flat tune while he evaded the organization's sight.

A/N: Mm... I got the feeling you guys didn't really seem to like Blackwood as a villain, so I snuffed him. I didn't really think he was threatening, either. I was actually tempted to have him actually sign a contract with this new guy, but what's the point? Sure, his ability is really neat, but it's not neat enough to save him. As much as I like long-time villains, he just wasn't the man for the job. So sad.

Oh, yeah... Also Ciel lost an arm. And his hearing in one ear maybe. And his leg is facing the wrong way. Oops.

August and Sudoku went and got killed, too... More on that later. Looking at things now, I don't think it really made much sense, but things were moving so fast, that it's sort of an "action now, explanation later" sort of situation. We'll get there.

Also, I'm seriously thirsty for feedback. Just gonna come out and say it. I really hate begging for comments, but I have absolutely no idea if this course of action is correct if nobody says anything. What are you guys thinking? Does it suck? Does it not suck? What sucks? What doesn't suck? I really have no idea.

Until the next chapter, my duckies~!
