"Who is the Metal Bat?"
The train station was empty when they reached it, not a single soul in sight.
"Train should be along in fifteen," Tokoyami said, looking around carefully, on guard for any hidden trap that could lay in wait for them.
"Be ready," Izuku warned, bat already in hand, Eri was on his back, peering over his shoulder curiously, "things have been too quiet."
"Not hearing anyone approaching." Jirou stated, her Jack stabbed into the ground, "but the incoming train is making it hard to hear anything even from this far away, so be ready."
"I still think you two are being paranoid," Setsuna sighed, looking around boredly.
Izuku rolled his eyes and knelt down, letting Eri jump off his back. "When the train gets here, you'll stay with Jirou, alright?" he asked seriously, looking the little girl in the eyes, "Do everything she says."
"Okay, Papa." She gave a serious nod, giggling when he ruffled her hair.
"Good girl," he said, standing up straight as the train came around the corner. "Alright, we know the game plan, lets…let's…" Izuku trailed off as he was suddenly hit by a wave of vertigo, barely keeping his feet under himself as he fell against a nearby pillar to steady himself. "What...the fuck…" he grunted, looking back at his companions and seeing they were likewise affected, Eri was already collapsed on the ground, swirly eyed and groaning.
"This was far too easy."
Izuku growled as he saw the blurry figure approach them, another cackling while draining a bottle of alcohol.
"When the young Head said you were dangerous, I had expected...more," the lead man sighed in disappointment, "the Metal Bat of Mustafu just a whiny, teenage brat. How disappointing."
"Hehehehe, his tolerance is for shit!" The swaying blur laughed as he stepped over Midoriya and went towards the downed Eri, only to pause when Kyoka threw herself over the little girl, "c'mon kid, we got a job to do!"
"Y-you won't take her," Jirou slurred, fixing him with a lazy glare while Dark Shadow appeared, likewise affected and trying to swipe at the drunk man.
"Just hand the child over and we will leave, along with Metal Bat, of course," the other said, pulling a revolver out, "you three need not-"
*CRACK!*
Everyone looked dumbfounded at Izuku, blood slowly trailing down his face after he'd slammed his bat into his forehead.
"What the - " Sakaki began to say before he disappeared as a dot on the horizon; the last thing he'd remember is the face of a metal bat before his world exploded into pain.
"Well, that really clears the senses," Izuku sneered, unwinding from his swing as he turned a blood-filled glare to Nemoto, who was now shaking at the sight of three Heroes In Training leveling a glare at him with a crazy bat wielding psycho leading them.
"What is your quirk?!" Nemoto demanded to know, his quirk rippling through the air before he let out a wheezing breath when Midoriya shot forward and buried a fist into his stomach.
"I dont have one," was the growled answer as Nemoto shot back, crashing through the wall of the train station.
"Train's not stopping!" Tokoyami warned, watching the incoming train rapidly sped up to try and pass the confrontation on the station.
"Gonna have to jump!" Kyoka exclaimed, holding Eri close. "Tsukuyomi, can you help me and Eri on?"
"Of course," he said with a nod, "lizardy, will you need assistance?"
"Thanks, Poe, but I got it." She said, turning to Izuku, ready to ask him about his strength, only for her eyes to widen. "IZUKU, DUCK!" She screamed.
Izuku bent at the waist, narrowly avoiding a gem-covered fist while his bat was ripped from his hands. "Oh, shi - " he cursed, dodging away from his attacker. Tokage and Tokoyami surged forward, Tokoyami stopping a man with a bag on his head and a noose tied around his neck from chomping down on Izuku while Setsuna pelted a yellow-haired man in a plague mask with her fists.
"Damn it, we're gonna miss the train!" Kyouka shouted, plugging her Jacks into her wrist amps, ready to fight should the three Yakuza break through the others.
"No! You three go!" Izuku ordered, blocking both the gem-covered man and the scarecrow, "it's our only chance! Go! I'll catch up."
"But we can't - " Setsuna began.
"We have no choice," Tokoyami said firmly, Dark Shadow wrapping a wing around Kyouka and Eri before vaulting all three onto the speeding train, "Lizardy!"
"Damn it!" Setsuna snapped, her parts flying off towards the train, "you better survive or I'll kill you, Midoriya!"
"Now," Izuku sighed, popping his neck and clenching his fist as he stared down the three villains, "give me my fucking bat back."

Jirou forced the emergency exit on the train open, dropping down into the first car with Setsuna right behind her, the passengers all stared at them with wide eyes.
"HIT students, don't worry," Jirou called out, tightening her hug on Eri to try and reassure the girl that they were fine.
"This is insane," Setsuna said as she put herself back together, "how did they find us?"
"Midoriya told you they had a Tracker," Jirou said, giving the girl an irritated glare, "he knocked him out to buy us time, probably came to and tracked us down."
Dark Shadow peered into the window. "We have company! More Yakuza thugs!"
"Shit," Setsuna swore, "stay in here with the kid. I'll help Tsukuyomi!" She didn't give Jirou much of a choice, as she disappeared out the window. Jirou sighed in exasperation when Setsuna left.
"We're alright Eri," Jirou told the worried girl soothingly, "your papa's gonna meet us at UA and all these villains will be rotting in jail." Her ears pricked as she heard the subtle sound of metal scraping against leather. "It'll all be fine," she continued to say, prepping her wrist amp.
"Miss, watch out - !"
The warning came too late, but Jirou was ready. A single shockwave punch sent her would-be assailant flying into the compartment door, where one of the other riders quickly restrained him with elastic arms.
"Everyone alright?" Jirou called out, receiving shaky nods all around. "Good," she sighed, looking back at Eri, who was staring up at her in awe, "don't worry, Half-pint, I got you,"
"Who are these guys?" the plastic quirk user asked, doing his best to keep the shake out of his voice.
"These are Yakuza!" a teenaged passenger said, her phone up and recording everything, "they must be pissed if they're being this flashy."
"Everyone get to the back of the train!" the operator shouted, "if this is Hero business then we need to make sure the civilians are safe!"
"You're right, everyone to the back now!" Jirou ordered, causing most to surge to the back cars, until only the recording teen and the operator were left with them.
"You can leave as well, sir," Jirou said to the operator, "we can't ask you to risk your life."
"This is my job, miss," the older man said stoically, "I'll keep this train going, you just make sure those Yakuza don't derail anything, then we'll really be in trouble."
"Thank you, sir," she said, bowing to him, then turned to glare pointedly at the teen who was still recording, "you need to leave."
"No way," she scoffed, zooming in on her face, then on the hole in the roof, "I've been waiting for a big break and this is it, with this footage I'll be a shoo in for that internship at Juzo News!"
"You're willing to risk your life for a news story?" Jirou exclaimed.
"Yep!" she said peppily, eyes scanning her over for a moment, "Earphone Jack, right? I loved your debut with Death Arms."
Jirou blinked, looking to Eri, who was just as confused. "I…didn't get any media coverage for that." she said slowly.
"I was in the bank when Death Arms broke in," she said, kneeling down to record Eri, jumping back when a Jack nearly stabbed her. "Whoa! What the hell?"
"Don't record her," Jirou ordered, "this is a delicate situation. I'll let you record anything else, but you keep her out of the shot."
The girl looked like she wanted to protest, but she just let out an irritated puff of air.
"Fine," she grumbled, pointing the camera up to the hole in the roof, "we should probably uncouple the carts, before more Yakuza catch up."
"Good call," Jirou said, running to the back of the car.

Izuku growled in frustration as he was forced to dodge teeth ready to bite through meat and bone, and jewel-hardened fists; they were keeping him on the backfoot, never letting him attack and keeping him contained.
Even if he dodged the first two, Setsuno was standing behind them ready to swing his ill-gained bat.
That still made him mad, the bastard stole HIS bat, and was using it against him.
It just felt wrong.
"Just give up, kid!" Hojo snarled, fist shooting through the wall of the train station as Izuku dove out of the way once more, barely able to block Tabe's teeth with his forearm, a scream tearing from his lips.
"Hold him there, Tabe!" Setsuno ordered, running in with the bat raised high.
"I've had just about enough of you!" Izuku roared, grabbing Tabe by the throat and swinging him in front of Setsuno.
"Shit - " he bit out as he collided with his friend, both of them slamming into Hojo and putting them completely through the wall.
"Little shit - " Hojo growled, trying to push his friends off of him, only for a booted foot to come down on top of them, keeping them in place.
"We got off on the wrong foot," Izuku sneered as he ripped his bat out of Setsuno's hand, "let's start again."
BOOM!
The ground shook under the force of Izuku's overhead swing, as concrete cracked and buckled as he buried the three Yakuza thugs two feet deep. "I'm Izuku, nice to meet you."
Izuku took in a deep gulp of air, stumbling away and falling to his knees, "Kami…" he gasped, trying to catch his breath, clutching his bleeding right forearm where Tabe had bit.
The bite wasn't too bad, all things considered; he was bleeding, but the teeth had barely broken through his skin.
"Another thing to add to the 'wtf' column," he muttered, standing back up and stumbling out of the station, eyes scanning the streets. "I need to catch up," he muttered, eyes finally landing on a vehicle he could use. He heard Jirou's voice in his head as he strode towards it.
Grand theft auto?! Again?!
"Appropriating without asking."

Jirou growled as she sent another Yakuza thug out the window. Above her, she could hear Tokage and Tokoyami fighting their own thugs.
"This is crazy!" the amateur reporter said, videotaping everything, doing her best not to get hit by any stray shots from the attackers. Beside her, huddled next to the conductor, was Eri, fearfully peaking around the corner to watch Jirou fight the Yakuza. "They are determined!"
"You're telling me," Jirou huffed, "How far away are we from UA?" she called out to the conductor.
'Three more stops!" the conductor called back.
"And what's your name, sir?" the teen asked, focusing the camera on his face, "and what inspired you to help these young Heroes In Training?"
"I'm Conductor Tskune Takagawa," the old man grunted, "and it's rail policy that I keep command of this train at all times."
"Amazing!" she cheered, "such dedication to the job!"
"I've been conducting this train for forty years," he said gruffly. "My retirement is in a few days, and I'll be damned if I leave this job with a report of a bunch of kids commandeering my train and derailing it because I wasn't at the controls."
"That's fair."
"They've stopped…" Jirou whispered, making the reporter look back to her in confusion, then her eyes widened.
The sound of fighting had died down, now the only sound penetrating the night was the train running along the tracks.
'Why would they suddenly fall back," she muttered.
"Uh…you two may wanna see this…"
Jirou ran over, looking ahead on the tracks to a giant man running towards them. "Oh, come on!"
"Get ready, you three," Takagawa ordered, "we're in for a bumpy ride!"
Jirou put her arms around Eri while the reporter braced against the wall.
"RELEASE!"
A cluster of garbage cans slammed into the thug's side, making him stagger back, and then a red blur slammed a fist into his chin.
"RED GAUNTLET!"
"Kirishima!" Jirou exclaimed, watching her classmate send the giant of a man tumbling over the rails.
"Keep going!" Uraraka shouted as she and Tsuyu landed inside the cart through the gaping hole in the roof, Tokoyami and Setsuna jumping in after them, "Eraserhead and the other teachers are already waiting at the UA stop."
"Thanks for the save," Setsuna said with a grin.
"We have a friend coming up from a few stops behind!" Jirou informed them, "he's got a metal bat!"
"We'll have Kirishima escort him when he catches up." Tsuyu croaked.
Tsuyu kicked the doors off the side, jumping out with a salute, Uraraka right behind her.
"A most auspicious dark banquet," Tokoyami muttered, absentmindedly wrapping a few bandages around a cut on his arm. Setsuna collapsed against the wall, catching her breath.
"They came in at the right time," she sighed, "we were getting overrun."
"I'm getting that internship!" the amateur reporter cheered giddily.
"Who the hell are you?" Setsuna asked.
"Akane Tsunomori!" came the quick reply, "future reporter for Juzo News!"
Jirou rolled her eyes. "We're almost there," she reassured Eri, putting a comforting arm around her.
"Will Papa be alright?" Eri asked quietly, eyes full of worry.
"Nothing will keep him from you," Jirou said honestly.

The snow and wind whipped his face painfully as he roared down the street atop a Harley Davidson, the single headlight barely illuminating the street under the subway.
Izuku could hear fighting ahead of him, so he readied his bat, letting it trail behind him like the ragged coat he still wore. He was only on the scene for a few seconds, barely able to get a glimpse of a gigantic man fighting three colorful Heroes.
"COMING THROUGH!" he snarled as he slammed his bat into the guy's chin, sending him reeling into a nearby building while Izuku kept going, revving the bike as he sped past.
He heard someone shouting but he wasn't stopping, he had to get back to Eri before things got even more pear shaped. His thoughts came to a screeching halt as a red-haired hero was suddenly latched onto the back seat, his feet dragging against the tarmac.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Izuku snarled, hauling him fully onto the bike.
"Uravity told me to go with you! I'm Red Riot!"
Izuku groaned. "Fine, but you better not slow me down."
"Definitely won't man, now - WATCH OUT."
Izuku's eyes snapped forward and barely missed a car..
"FUCK YOU!" came the shout from the car.
"Fuck me? YOU'RE THE ONE DRIVING WHILE ON THE PHONE, ASSHOLE!" izuku shouted back as he roared away."Who the fuck is driving during a villain fight? should take that guy's license away!"
"Do you even have a license?" Kirishima exclaimed, holding on for dear life as Izuku shot up some stairs and flew through the terminal to land on the train tracks.
"Who needs a license?" Izuku laughed, revving the engine and spurring it to go faster.
"Who even are you!?"
"Izuku Midoriya! Known to these Yakuza bastards as Metal Bat. Nice to meet you!"
"Oh wow, Mina's been gushing about you since yesterday! Bakugo's had some things to say, too. You're seriously manly dude!"
"Since yesterday?"
"WATCH OUT!"
Izuku hit the brakes and barely swerved in time to avoid the yellow transparent barrier in front of them, the tires just barely skimming it as the motorcycle rocketed off the tracks and into the streets.
"Holy shit, you alright!?" Izuku shouted, sparing a look back.
"Yeah, yeah I'm alrigh-"*BOOM!*
Izuku's eyes widened as he saw Kirishima disappear in an instant from behind him. It caused the Quirkless delinquent to swerve, crashing the bike as he tumbled to his feet in time to eat a powerful uppercut that sent him crashing through a building, the same one Kirishima had just been sent through.
"Alright, kiddies, playtime's over," Rappa sneered, pushing cars out of his way as he approached the crater he had just buried the two boys in.
Kirishima could barely hear anything over the ringing in his ears. He had barely reacted in time to harden his body before the punch had landed, but it had easily cracked through his defenses, leaving him a shattered mess. Slowly, he turned his head to the boy beside him; Metal Bat, Izuku Midoriya, someone he'd heard Bakugo talk about several times over the course of their first year, was bleeding out on the cracked foundation of the business office they'd just been punched into.
"Come out, come out, little heroes," Rappa called, "real men face their deaths with their fists!"
"Shut the fuck up already."
Kirishima's eyes widened as he watched Izuku pull himself to his feet, leaning heavily on his dented bat, blood gushing down his face and gasping for breath as he teetered back and forth.
"Seriously, can't any of you villains learn to read the fucking room?" he seethed through his teeth, his chest heaving with each word.
"Oh?" Rappa grunted, "you think you got what it takes to step into the ring with me, shitstain? Drop that dented piece of aluminum and lets duke it out, mano y mano!"
"That'd put me at a disadvantage," Izuku scoffed, eyes darting over to Kirishima, "after all, I am Quirkless."
"Ain't no one stack bodies like that and not have a Quirk," Rappa laughed.
"Believe it or not, it's true."
"...hey Tengai, this guy for real?"
"If what Chrono found was true, then he's not lying," a blond-haired man said as he slowly walked out of the shadows, "though I find it difficult to believe."
"Well, of course, it's difficult to believe! Ain't no quirkless I've ever met can deal out that kind of punishment!"
"With how the world is today, I wouldn't find it too surprising. After all, we have a Quirkless Hero now in John Henry."
"Oh, come off it, man!"
As the two argued, Izuku shifted closer to Kirishima. "Hey man, are you good?" he muttered quietly as his breath began to even out.
"H-he broke through my Quirk…one hit and he broke through…" Kirishima muttered, "I…I can't…"
"You fuckin' can, otherwise I'm gonna have to save both of our asses, and my tank's starting to run on empty. So buck up."
"I…I can't…I…"
Izuku scowled. "Hmph, so much for the Hero course,"
Kirishima felt his heart stutter at that. His eyes widened as he watched Izuku sling his bat over his shoulder and…and sauntered towards the two arguing Yakuza.
"Oi, Assholes," he barked out, eyes wide and chin jutted out defiantly, "I believe I issued a challenge that you've yet to answer. Pussying out on me already? Old man?"
"Oh, that's it," Rappa snarled, exploding towards the boy, who swung his bat in an instant. The two powerful attacks slammed into each other, creating a high pressure explosion that had both sliding back. Rappa stared down at his fist in shock, while Izuku shook out his hands, trying to get feeling back in them after the harsh hit.
"Alright, kid, you got my attention," Rappa said with a deranged smile, "Don't get involved in this one, Tengai!"
"As you wish, brute. The red one is finished, he won't do anything; so fulfill Lord Overhaul's orders! Kill Metal Bat!"
Rappa once again charged, fists cocked back. "Let's see what you can do, kid!"
"Come get some then, motherfucker!" Izuku snarled, likewise sprinting towards his enemy, the explosive attacks slamming into each other over and over again in a blurred frenzy of attacks, parries and blocks. Rappa's fists easily got through Izukus' defenses after a few skirmishes and his own attacks were easily batted away.
"You got power, kid, but you ain't got no technique! What? You think you can just swing a bat, and everything will turn out okay?"
Izuku gritted his teeth as he slammed through a wall, coming out onto the street on the other side. He dodged a few jabs and straights before eating an uppercut to the jaw, harsh punches riddling his body as Rappa pressed his advantage.
"Gotta hand it to ya, kid! This is the best fight I've had in years!" Rappa said excitedly as he wound up for another punch.
BOOM!
Izuku gasped out in shock and pain as he was once again sent flying back, crumpling a car under his weight. His entire body ached, and he could feel his right eye had swollen shut.
"If this is how the Quirkless fight, maybe I'll visit John Henry when we're done here," he sneered, cracking his bloody knuckles.
Izuku felt a heat start to burn in his chest as his left eye opened.
"Shut up…"
"What was that?" Rappa questioned, dropping his guard for a fraction of a second.
"I SAID SHUT UP!"
*CRACK!*
Rappa was sent flying back through the building, landing in an explosive mushroom cloud beside a shocked Tengai.
"What in the - "
"Can't swing a bat and expect everything to turn out okay…who the fuck do you think you are."
"I didn't even see him move…" Rappa muttered, getting back to his feet while cradling his stomach a bit, watching as Izuku strode towards them. He was covered in blood, looking like hell, and still coming back for more. His every step seemed to shake the street, and steam began to rise off his body as he came to a stop a little bit in front of Kirishima, the HIT student staring in shock and awe at the boy.
"With this bat in my hands I can do anything I set my mind to," Izuku snapped, thumping his chest with his free hand, "I don't need a Quirk, luck or even my eyes to do what needs to be done. All I need is this Bat, my willpower, and a can-do fucking attitude," he gripped his bat with both hand., I just need one good swing… "So come on, make my fucking day you Italian Mobster wannabe motherfuckers."
Rappa exploded forward, the thought of an even more high paced match leading him to initiate the so-craved fight.
Time seemed to slow down for Izuku as his arms suddenly lagged. Of all the times for this new strength to fail, it fucking chooses now? Izuku swore in his mind as his impending doom drew closer and closer. Great, now I'm gonna look like an asshole for spouting off and dying right after.
"RED RIOT: UNBREAKABLE!"
Izuku's eye widened, barely able to comprehend the sight of the previously-catatonic Red Riot sliding in between the two, his jagged form taking the brunt of Rappa's new explosive attacks.
"What the hell? He was blown away so easily before!"
Izuku staggered back again, finally taking a proper breath as he watched Kirishima tank blow after blow. "Kirishima…" he whispered, clenching his bat tightly in his hands as he felt that heat start up once again in his chest.
"Alright, let's go, kid!" Rappa snarled, ready to deliver his strongest blow against the boy.
"AAAAAAAARGH!" Kirishima roared as he drove his fist forward, only for a yellow barrier to pop up between the two.
"I told you not to get involved!" Rappa snapped at Tengai.
"We cannot risk this mission! Besides, the boy's spent."
"Then I guess it's my turn again!"
Tengai's eyes widened as Izuku was suddenly lunging forward, bat coming forward in a blistering attack.
"Watch closely!" Izuku rumbled, "I'm about to show you what a fighting spirit can do!"
"Drop the barrier!" Rappa shouted at Tengai.
"It'll hold!" Tengai whispered, a tremble in his voice as the bat broke the sound barrier and easily carved through his Quirk, shattering it like glass. The wide strike followed through and slammed into both of them, sending them tumbling down the street to crash through two buildings.
"Kid, my ass," Izuku huffed, spitting out more blood before he fell to his knees. Nearly collapsing before he could get his bat under him, keeping him propped up. "Red Riot. you good?" he coughed out, looking back at the boy, collapsed in his own personal crater, his breath shallow, "Oi, Kirishima, you alive? Don't make me use the bat!"
"I'm…not dead…" Kirishima groaned out, eyes cracking open just a bit, "I-I can't move…"
"Bout right there with ya, bud…" Izuku sighed, forcing himself to his feet, staggering over to the other boy. "Come on, we gotta get to UA."
Kirishima let out a strangled cry as Izuku hauled him to his feet. "We…we're only a few stops away," he managed to grit out as they stumbled down the street.
"Eri and the others should be there by now," Izuku muttered, dragging his bat behind them.
"Bakugo and the other 1A students will be on standby," Kirishima whispered, "we just…gotta…"
"Kirishima? Kirishima!" Izuku shouted frantically as the boy fell forward in a dead faint, dragging Izuku down with him, his bat sticking in a snow drift at their side. "Kirishima, come on man, stay awake!"
"How'd you do it…"
Izuku froze, looking down at the Injured student.
"You're…Quirkless…" he whispered quietly, "you're a civilian…but you…but you stood up to them…like it was nothing. You weren't scared….how?" With a soft sigh Kirishima slipped into unconsciousness.
Izuku sighed as he sat back into the snow drift. "What can I say," he muttered, dragging a half destroyed pack of cigarettes out and finding one that wasn't crumpled or broken. He lit it with a beat up lighter and let a puff of smoke out, "guess I got tired of getting told I couldnt…you came in clutch though, would be dead if you hadn't moved…you're a real Hero."
Izuku's ears pricked up at the crunch of snow, slowly he turned his head to stare at the approaching figure.
"You're a hard man to find, Metal Bat," Overhaul droned.
Izuku let his head fall for a moment, and sighed heavily.
"You rest here, Kirishima," Izuku muttered, grasping his bat and standing up on wobbly legs after patting the downed Hero's shoulder. He blew a cloud of smoke out of his nostrils, ash crumbled away from the cigarette in the corner of his mouth, bat held lazily in his right hand as he stood opposing Overhaul.
"Gotta say, you Yakuza have shit timing," he sneered.
WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW
Their orders were clear. If Kirishima didn't check in at the regular check in time, then they would be given the go ahead to reinforce the HIT students in town.
That was thirty minutes ago. Now, Bakugo was exploding through the city along the railway, his classmate Todoroki speeding along beside him. "Damn it, we spent too long on those grunts!" Bakugo snarled, "that slow mo fucker really pissed me off, we better not be late-'
"-relax Bakugo, we'll get there on time," Todoroki droned, "Besides, we sent her ahead."
