It was not at all unusual for the demonic duo to be awakened by the sound of one of their cell phones going off while tangled together. This time, however, the pair was in a hotel room and they were very naked. Still, as the ringing continued, neither of them wanted to move from their spot. They were both rather comfortable. Ciel had his arms around the other's waist from behind in a spooning position, leaving Alois to hug a pillow. Maybe that's why the blonde was more capable of getting up than his spouse, as he wasn't in his usual sleeping position.
"Ciel… Your phone..." He poked the other's arm in an effort to wake him up, but all he received in return was a rather pathetic grunt before the bluenette elected to ignore him by nuzzling blonde locks even further.
"Fuck's sake..." the menace said in exasperation, annoyed by the sound and unable to bear it any longer. He sat up, subsequently forcing Ciel to move and whine pitifully in the process, but Alois was convinced that he wouldn't die from it. Reaching across his husband, he plucked the cell phone from the nightstand on the bluenette's side and answered it for him. "Hello?"
"Alois?" confusedly answered the voice on the other end. In truth, the man didn't look to see who it was, but he recognised the sound of Elizabeth's voice. She was expecting her cousin, but got her in-law instead. "Did I call your phone? That's odd..."
"You're not going nuts, Liz. This is his phone. I just picked it up because Ciel is being a whiny baby who doesn't want to get up. Whatcha need?"
"Oh! That's good. I could have sworn I called Ciel!" Elizabeth chortled, sounding a little relieved. "Is he still asleep? It's passed noon. I was wondering when you would be back."
"Is it?" the man questioned, taking the phone away from his ear in order to glance at the clock. "So it is. Sorry. We didn't set an alarm, I guess..."
"That's fine. The hotel might charge you for another day, however."
"Eh, don't worry about. I'm more worried about the fact that we sort of left you hanging!"
"I don't mind at all! If anything, it was a most productive evening! Revy presented me with such wonderful intelligence. I already informed Integra and we have a plan as to what to do."
"Really? That was fast."
"Well, the website is simple enough that we can have an agent sign up without any problems. We can just sign up and find out what exactly they want their recruits to do." the woman informed, sounding rather pleased. "Well, we can all talk about that when you get back. Sebastian had some information as well. Revy is also considering a new line of work, I believe."
"Oh yeah? As what? An internet troll?"
"Essentially, yes."
"Huh… That might work, actually. Can we talk about that as well? Aren't there qualifications? Would he be all set?"
"Yes, we can talk about it later. You can get back to your husband, then."
"Alright. Thank you so much." Alois answered. "For everything, really. You're wonderful, Lizzie. Bye-bye~!"
Hanging up, he was about to set the phone down on the nightstand when he saw that his beau had a few text messages. Looking down at the other, he placed a hand on the other's chest and nudged him. "Hey, Sebastian texted you. Probably about what Liz wants to tell us about the whole thing up in Manchester."
"I'll text him back later..." groaned the Watchdog. "Lay back down..."
"We overslept, too, so they're probably gonna charge us for it." Alois informed, knowing that the other was only half-listening.
"It's fine..."
"It's passed noon. We were supposed to have left by now."
"I'll apologise to Lizzie later..."
At this rate, nothing seemed to be able to move Ciel. He was too stubborn and could not see reason. Sometimes, the man could be childish about getting up in the morning. Then again, so could Alois.
"Ciel, get up." the blonde instructed again. After receiving no response, he lightly squeezed the man's pec and asked: "If you don't, who is going to make love to me?"
"Huh?" At last, Ciel opened his eyes, causing the other to snort.
"Really? That's what gets you up?" scoffed the menace, while the other sat up with a grunt.
"In what way?" his husband sleepily questioned, not realising he had said it until after the fact. The bluenette was much more awake after that. His eyes were wide and his face was flushed a wee bit as he looked up at the menace. Instinctively, he covered his mouth, but the damage was done.
"Jesus, you're insatiable..."
"I didn't meant to say that."
"You did, though. Good Lord… You're gonna run me dry." Closing his eyes with a short sigh, he rubbed his neck. "If I didn't regenerate, I would be as spotty as a Dalmatian."
"And I would have a clawed up back." Added the other with a yawn. "Be fair, now. You pawed at me for another go, just as I did."
"Maybe, but you still only got up because I said I needed someone to do me."
"I heard 'make love to me' and thought that was a weird thing to say to Lizzie."
"Liar. I was talking to you before that and you answered me pretty clearly."
"I did?" questioned the bluenette, feigning ignorance.
"Y'know, I was actually thinking about going for it, but now I think I just want to get dressed." Alois stated, prompting the other to pout.
"When is Lizzie expecting us?"
"I dunno? Sometime later, I guess." the menace informed while moving to get out of bed.
"Can't we sleep a little longer?" questioned the Watchdog with a huff of a sigh. "I was comfortable."
"You mean 'cuddle,' not 'sleep'. I kinda want to make sure Lizzie isn't mad at us for stalling. She's kinda doing me a solid by watching my brothers."
"Fine. She's doing me a favour as well, because you're my husband." Ciel finally agreed, although he wasn't very happy with it. "Can I at least have a kiss?"
"Psh, I thought complaining for 'good morning kisses' was my thing?" the other shot back, leaning toward his spouse and pursing his lips, nonetheless. He very gently, but firmly kissed Ciel before swinging his legs over the side of the bed and making the walk to his overnight bag. His beau followed after, bending over to dig in his own bag for his extra set of clothes.
"Do you want to shower before you get dressed?" he asked before clarifying so that the blonde couldn't tease him. "Individually."
"Didn't we both take a shower last night?"
"Oh, right. You came back in the room complaining about the towels."
"They are too small and too flimsy to dry anything!"
"We'll pack our own next time."
"Mm-hm." hummed the menace while pulling up his pants. Letting his hands fall to his sides, he sighed. "I don't wanna talk about work when we get back… I wanna sit… Maybe take a nap."
"I thought you wanted to get up?"
"I didn't want to. I just didn't want to leave Liz hanging. We should nap when we're done."
"You gave up really quickly..." chuckled Ciel. Buttoning up his shirt, he turned to his beau. "I can listen to Lizzie and fill you in later if you want."
"Can you?" Alois questioned. "I don't want to seem like I'm ditching you guys. Then again, I should probably be there. She wanted to talk about a new line of work Revy's considering."
"What's that?"
"He'd be a troll for the Media Management Department. Not a bad job, though I hear the people there are… well… A bit rude."
"That's what makes them good at their job, I suppose." Ciel replied. "Being mean on the internet takes talent, you know."
"It does for that job." After putting on his shirt, the menace walked over to his beau and placed his hand on his shoulders from behind, kissing the side of his cheek as he looked back at him. The blonde then put his forehead against Ciel's head and closed his eyes, sighing rather contently.
"I poke fun at you, but I had a really good time." he continued. "We should do this again. Same time next year?"
"I will take you out next week, if you want. Hopefully, Sebastian will be back to watch Revy and Luka." the bluenette answered while tightening the knot on his tie.
"We could catch a movie or something." the blonde suggested with a certain amount of playfulness in his tone that was hard to miss. His husband chuckled, bringing a hand up to rest on Alois' as it sat on his shoulder.
"That could be fun. How about it?"
"Alright. For now, though, we've gotta go see your cousin and try to ignore the fact that she is most likely pretty sure what we were up to last night."
"She is. I've talked to her before about us. She knows that we get psychically intimate."
"Really? She talks about sex?" Now that caused some arching of brows. "She always seems like such a refined, traditional English woman."
"She is one. She's also a person, though. Most people appreciate a good dirty joke." Ciel informed. "Are we going to go see her now, or what?"
"You bet we are! I need to hear these jokes she's been keeping from me!"
A/N: At long last! I can update from my own computer again! Gods be praised! Hallelujah!
It's a big deal for me, ok? I've been annoyed by this for over a week.
Next week I have to go back to school. Happy day... I have to get up at 6, which is gonna be fun. 6 a.m. on a MONDAY.
Give me strength...
There was actually a delay in this chapter as I try to figure out which plot point I want to introduce first. Do I want to go for the throat, or should I try to ease into it some more? I'm leaning to the latter option, but I feel like this has dragged on for a really long time...
Tell me what you guys think so I have an idea of what the audience would like to see. I have no clue. I haven't been getting a lot of feedback lately so I have no idea what I'm doing at all...
Until the next chapter, my duckies~!
