Sebastian had his thoughts about what it was that was happening around Manchester in the city and in the surrounding towns and villages. He just hadn't found the right people to ask to confirm this just yet. While he came across a few vampires and werewolves, some of them were too aggressive to get any information out of and had to be put down. They were feral, almost, with tattered clothes, matted hair, and an unwell look in their eyes. Occasionally, he came across some that were civil and willing to cooperate, but they knew nothing about what could have caused this. They did say, however, that they were attacked by the prior individuals.
"I've only been like this for a little while..." one vampire said after attempting to bite Sebastian, who had used himself as bait. The poor college student was driven to near-starvation and slipped when they became desperate. The butler couldn't be upset with that. No harm was done and no harm was intended. "The bloke who did this was crazy! It was like being mauled by a bear…"
Similar individuals were found and directed toward Phantom House, where they could register with HELLSING and get the help that they needed. Fortunately, that was the majority. They happily took his advice and went on their merry way after politely cooperating.
That same woman, however, had a story to tell that was most interesting to the butler. She reported that when she was bitten, she was with friends in a certain part of the woods when they were attacked. All that they knew at the time was that people had seen strange things in the area, so they thought it would be fun to have a sort of "test of courage." How were they to know that only one would come back alive? She was attacked, having a large bite wound on her neck thanks to a scraggly-looking man. She didn't see what happened to the others. The lumbering, slow group of people swarmed them. That's the last she saw of them. From the sound of it, they were attacked by a vampire and his ghouls. What's worse, people are actually going into that area. Naturally, he had to take care of that.
Sebastian was having the time of his life, hunting down these monsters. It wasn't completely out of the goodness of his heart, oh, no. He thought about what his master would want, however, so he had to. If he got to bash some heads in on his way, that was more than perfectly fine by him.
That said, he was getting tired of walking through the forest. He wanted to be done with this soon as he worried about the state of the house while he was gone. He knew for certain that no one was dusting and Luka had to eat more human food as the strange nature of his demonity caused him to develop in an abnormal fashion. Sebastian was concerned about the duo feeding him unhealthy foods for too long or being lenient on either of the Macken kids.
Still, he trekked on. He could do this in broad daylight, fortunately, but he was going tired of this monotonous work. The vampire would have to come later, but he could still get rid of any ghouls he came across. Several had already fallen and with a loud thud, so did another.
"This is getting tiresome." sighed the man clad in black while patting the dirt off of his hands. "If it weren't for my pride, I just might have let the humans come in and deal with this with their guns."
He was actually starting to think that the situation was getting too dangerous for humans to handle. The creatures grew more numerous, the further he progressed. It was a good thing that he had stashed an extra set of clothes further back, as he had the misfortune of accidentally allowing a few droplets of blood to stain the outfit he was wearing. It only worsened his annoyance. Ah, how he wanted to go home, but things were only about to get worse.
In his irritation, he got sloppy. The butler was not paying attention to where he was going and only saw the steel door when his foot stepped on it instead of more dirt. It was clumsy of him. Perhaps it was time that Sebastian went home, but first, he had to sedate his curiosity. With a sigh, he removed his foot from the door and grabbed hold of the handle. Surprisingly, it wasn't just a piece of scrap illegally dumped somewhere, it actually led somewhere. It wasn't locked, either. It was just a dark staircase leading down into the earth in the middle of the forest. Most peculiar.
Sebastian focused intently on the area beneath him before descending. Using sixth sense, he tried to pick up every single soul he could and decipher what owned it. There were vampires, werewolves, and a few elves, amoung other things. There were some that were hard to place. He didn't know exactly what they were. That created a problem. Had it just been the prior creatures on their own, he would have proceeded. Uncertainty, however, dissuaded him. That, and a signature of a species he did recognise.
"So there are is another demon here, too..." he pondered, taking out his cell phone and gently shutting the heavy door again. The butler checked his location and deciphered his own coordinates before phoning Sir Integra directly.
"Sir Integra, I believe I may have found something of interest."
