Alois and his husband had been formulating a plan with Rue and Martyr about how they were going to escape the facility. Support was going to be arriving shorty in the form of helicopter transport, where operatives would come in and swipe all of the computers from the facility and separate copters would be carrying out those who have been trapped here. They went through everyone in order to see what they could do, as there might come a time when they will have to fight, although they hoped for the optimal scenario where it wouldn't come to that.
Unfortunately, many in the group were either too weak or too demoralised to do much. Some had abilities that weren't especially helpful, especially the psychics. The most common claim was lucid dreaming while one or two claimed to be able to have a psychic sense of smell and could perceive the presence of spirits and determine supernaturals with their nose. Three said that they were able to see supernatural beings' true appearances in a way that was reminiscent of Paul Blackwood's ability. That said, that wasn't a very useful ability for this situation and it left them with a massive weak spot in the form of a soft spot on their upper forehead where a hole had been drilled into their skull. Some could use astral projection while others claimed to be able to communicate with spirits. Unfortunately for the latter, there were a lot of unharvested, angry souls throughout the building, making their time extremely difficult. Clairvoyance seemed to be the most useful ability, but those who had it said that they didn't have much practise in using it. In other words: the only ones who were fit to fight were a few supernaturals who were willing to bet everything they have on this last-ditch effort to escape.
That is the kind of resolve that the Phantomhives liked to see. One thing remained, however. That was their last two assets in combating the threat that were just beyond the heavy, reinforced door.
"Rue, we need to look at the security cameras." the bluenette informed. "We need to see if our comrades are still outside."
"Unlikely." Rue answered, sitting down in a cheap, rolling chair. "We can look, but they might've gotten overwhelmed."
"We'll just have to check and see, then." Ciel insisted, reaching past the woman in order to turn on the monitor. Something caught the eyes of the demoness that caused them to widen. She abruptly stood up again and leaned forward with her hands on the table.
"What?!" she gawked in disbelief. Sure enough, two people were still outside. One man and one woman, who could be seen politely knocking on the massive door while a pile of bodies were strewn about around them. Suddenly, the man looked up, noticing the light of the camera had turned on, prompting him to wave with a slight smile. The woman soon followed upon noticing her associate's actions, before pointing to the door. Quickly, Rue checked the other cameras in the hallway in order to make sure everything was secure.
"Unbelievable..." she said aloud. "How did they do that?"
"One of them is a badass and the other one is a pretty good butler." Alois chimed in, looking over the console. "Which button opens the door?"
Without answering, Rue simply tapped a sequence into the computer before turning to walk out of the room and into the main area where everyone was gathered. At first, screaming could be heard as people rushed away from the opening door, afraid of what nightmarish abominations would spill out. They didn't look back, either, which caused them to take much longer than they should have to calm down. If they had, they would have seen that only two people had walked into the room while being followed by no one.
"Goodness gracious, what is the matter?" the butler questioned, examining the room around them. Seras spoke up, trying to calm everyone down, but to no avail. Finally, it was up to one of their own to alert their attention.
"Quiet!" shouted the strained voice of a small girl. Immediately, the room was unnaturally silent as she had the group's undivided attention. Raising her hand, Martyr pointed straight ahead of her at the group's two additional saviours. "No blue hands. Just white stained red." she said, pointing to the pair's gloves. She didn't seem too bothered by the fact that the red stains were blood and neither did the others.
"Well. That was… effective." Sebastian noted while Seras made her way over to the Phantomhives.
"That entire section should be clear." she informed the duo. "It took us a while, and we might have missed a few, but if we hurry, we should be good to go."
"The map says that they can get there from other parts of the facility." Ciel stated. "It's a pretty big place, too. About how much did you clear?"
"Ah. Well. The route we took to get here and the ajoining halways should be clear." Seras listed off. "We barricaded doors that weren't already jammed with what we could find. Do you want us to clear out the entire place?"
"Depends. How strong are they and do you think HELLSING troops could handle the rest?"
"Who they are is definitely a factor. Those vampires are much faster than ghouls. About as fast as a human, I'd say. It could still get overwhelming in this small space, though."
"How tired are you?"
"I'm alright, though I'd like to take a bit of a breather. The lack of bullets is a problem."
"If we can just get everyone out, we can restock and wipe out what's left over the course of a few days..." the Watchdog pondered aloud while rubbing his chin. "To do that, though, Alois has you positioned in the front of the train."
"Why?" questioned the Draculina with an arched eyebrow.
"Because you can take out slews of enemies in one big movement with your arm." pointed the young man at her arm. "Sebastian will be in the back, covering the rear, and Jim and I will be at the sides."
"My lord, that's… incredibly risky..." Sebastian didn't seem too convinced by the idea.
"I know, but we have no other ideas."
"I'll work the sides, too." said Rue.
"Who is this?"
"That's Rue. She's been captured by Belmont as well, just like all the others." informed the Watchdog.
"Now I definitely don't trust this..." the butler replied, expressing concern, given the usual pattern when it comes to dealing with demons.
"If she acts up, we'll make a call." Now, the female demon knew full well that Ciel was referring to killing her. It didn't inspire any confidence in this group's abilities, but hope was one hell of a drug.
"Understood." she finally spoke up. "I'll be nice."
"Good, because we need everyone we can get." Alois said, looking around at the players.
"Darkness is coming." Martyr added, seemingly popping up at their side out of nowhere. "Sight will fail us, soon."
"What does that mean?" questioned the butler, prompting a short pause while everyone pondered what on earth the girl was on about. Then, a look of horror came over the female demon's face.
"The generator!" she exclaimed. "It was running low, this morning!"
"So? We can see in the dark." the bluenette pointed out.
"No. Not all of us." reminded Alois before gesturing to the others who were trapped here. "Some of them are vampires, but werewolves, elves, and humans can't see in the dark. If the lights shut off, they could panic. Panic spreads in groups. We have to go now."
"Right..." his husband replied. "Round everybody up and get into position."
"Just like that?!" questioned Rue, obviously sharing doubt in the situation, a sentiment that was also shared by Sebastian.
"Better now than never. I trust that it's the right decision. Jim may be rash and a little impulsive at times, but he isn't stupid.
"Wait, I can't tell who exactly is in charge, here." the demoness stated, putting up her hands. Overhearing the conversation as he rallied the troops.
"He is." both Phantomhives said at the same time while pointing at each other. Upon realising what they had done, they both pointed to themselves in a questioning fashion. "I am?"
"Jesus Christ, we are all going to die down here." She spoke to no one in particular, but disbelief was ever present in her tone of voice.
"We won't know for sure until we do." Alois replied, motioning for everyone to get into position. "Everybody know what to do?"
His question was met with varying degrees of enthusiasm from the already somewhat reluctant group. Pumping his fist in the air, he nodded. "All right." Turning back to Rue, he added. "C'mon. You need to get in, too."
"Isn't this a bit sudden?" As if on cue, the lights flickered as the generator was starting to go.
"Yes." bluntly answered the menace before facing forward again. Suddenly, his face was all business again as he was focused alongside his fellow professionals. "Let's move!"
