The helicopters carried everyone off, but the struggle still wasn't over. HELLSING had to figure out what to do with all of these anxious supernaturals in the mean time while they examined them to make sure they weren't sick or injured and also while they tried to figure out who these people were or where they were from. Many could answer the questions easily. They had a name, they had an address, and they had family. Some supernaturals were humans in the very recent past and infected with vampirism and lycanthropy. They were the most distraught as they came to terms with their loss of humanity alongside their imprisonment and torture.

Others were difficult, as they couldn't remember their names or simply couldn't form the words to explain themselves. These people were mostly psychics, as their brains had been tampered with in a more direct fashion. Regardless of what they were, many of the survivors found being in a medical facility to be extremely unsettling.

Most of them went through with the procedure anyway, while some had panic attacks and had to have their check up postponed. Martyr was the worst of all of them. Telekinesis proved to be a tricky thing to get around and no one at the facility could do it.

"What does she mean by blue hands?!" one doctor questioned, her voice riddled with exasperation.

"Its your gloves." calmly informed Rue, who was currently holding the girl in a protective fashion in order to help calm her down. "See? Your hands are blue. The doctors in the bunker wore them when they poked needles into her head."

"Do we have any different coloured gloves?" the doctor asked while turning to another physician, only to be met with a shrug. Needless to say, Martyr did not receive a physical that night. Instead, she was given food and a place to sleep, just like the others.

Those who were from Gehenna were sent back to London to be examined there after a hot meal. They got to sleep soundly without fear of death during the drive over there and there was a few less people to house at the Manchester branch as a result. The entire building was a mess as HELLSING tried their best to sort everyone, so they took a few of them up on their offer to just go home and come back in the morning for more tests and to hear more about the possibilities they possessed on what they were going to do with their lives next. They weren't going to miss out on that for the world, given how lost they felt.

These were the people who lived in the area. Most of them had lost their humanity and didn't know where to go from there. Even their own houses felt foreign to them, given how long some of them were away. Being alone felt a bit unsafe, so multiple people would stay in a house and go back to HELLSING together when a car came back around to pick them up. These were the people who could go to Gehenna or Pyestock and live rather peacefully, but the trauma that they endured would certainly persist for a long time. Fortunately, professional counseling sessions were also offered.

Alois stayed behind for hours in order to make sure everyone was being treated well and felt safe. Really, he and the Watchdog could have gone back to their hotel by now, but Alois was a serious man when he wanted to be. In truth, he felt bad about keeping his husband behind with him. It didn't matter how many times the obviously tired bluenette told him that it was perfectly alright. Ciel truly loved this side of his spouse that was dutiful in tending to other supernaturals, so that is how he spent his time. He was watching the menace run around and talking to people, providing them reassurance and explanation. Ciel loved it that he was so passionate and admired his kindness. It suited Alois well.

Eventually, that stern and focused man turned his attention back to the bluenette and realised that he hadn't been giving any attention to his husband, of all people. Thus, he trotted over to the Watchdog, only to slow his pace once he remembered that he should probably conserve some energy. Still, he walked around Ciel and appeared behind him, placing his hands on his shoulders.

"How are you holding up, baby?" the menace asked with a smile. He forced a small grunt from his beau as he began to knead Ciel's shoulders, chuckling while the bluenette shut his eyes with a sigh. "Just a little while longer and we can go to the hotel, okay?"

"Sounds good." nodded the Watchdog, trying his best not to enjoy the light massage too much. "How are your knuckles?"

"All healed up and ready to punch some more, if I have to."

"And our friends?"

"They're holding up just as well as you'd expect. It's not all pretty, but it's better than actively dying of starvation in the dark."

"That's good." the bluenette said, his serene expression faltering as the other took one of his hands away. Looking at his fingertips, Alois found blood. Upon further examination of his husband's work suit, he found a tear and some damp fabric.

"You were bitten?" Alois questioned.

"Yeah. I did my best, but there were a lot of them. I'm all healed up, now."

"Poor thing." cooed the blonde before placing a kiss to the other's head, prompting a rather pleased smile to form on Ciel's face.

"What about you?" asked the Watchdog. "Your fists weren't too damaged when I saw them."

"Well, they were starting to really hurt and they were bleeding all over the place, so I thought about what to do." Alois began. "I was thinking 'man, if I had some armour, that would be great.' I remembered that Liz doesn't have wings, so she weaves them with her angelic garb. So I thought: 'why can't I do that?' And presto! You've got magic armour."

"That's incredibly brilliant." grinned the Watchdog, tilting his head back and looking up so he could say it to his husband's face. "And all of that while under pressure? Jesus, what are you?"

"One hell of an agent." answered the menace without missing a beat.

"I think you're the one who deserves to have his shoulders rubbed. Do you want to switch places?"

"That sounds really nice… Later, though. We're in public and you have magic hands."

"So do you, and I'm just fine."

"That's because I'm holding back and not doing it as deep as I could be."

"That's true… Please don't. That would be embarrassing."

"Exactly. I am gonna hold you to that offer, though."

"Works for me." chuckled the bluenette, enjoying the other's presence while it lasted. Before too long, Alois was back to work. All Ciel could do was sit back and dread the coming of the next day while he waited.

Truth be told, he didn't want to go back down there. Alas, they needed to get those computers out of there and bring them back to London for their intelligence. It would be ill-advised to send a bunch of humans down there on their own, as there were still quite a few supernaturals down there that are quite quick, and their numbers did not help them any, either. It was something that had to be done, though, so Ciel would just have to suck it up and go with it.

For now, though, he would enjoy his moment of rest. He was very much looking forward to going back to the hotel and sleeping, although he would honour his promise to his husband before that. It was a shame that once Alois had his knots worked out, he would fall asleep. All Ciel could do was hope that the menace had his back once the next mission was over.
