The two wasted no time. They went to the hospital to get each other diagnosed, but mostly Sig's body.
There was no hurry though. Their stroll while the moon was still in the sky was just that, a stroll. The now full-demon(?) and the clown's body walked hand-in-hand.
The two kept close because neither of them were done recovering from what led to Sig's mutations.
Sig was still scared, and Sil still hadn't had any sleep since the last chapter since it's the same day. She tries not to be, but she's a bit irritable.
"Sil…?" Sig rested onto his own shoulder Sil was using.
"What is it Sig?"
"...Nevermind…"
"Sig… You can tell me."
"I-It's about our bodies… I'm not sure if I like…"
Sig cut himself off. Sil had an idea of what he was gonna talk about. The clown had to admit that his body didn't look appealing to live in. Silvana wanted to confront him about it, but she was lost in the cute concerned-looking face Sig was making with the Raffine mask on. Sil rested upon her head.
The both of them smiled and they knew it.
Of the two of them, Sig did have the weaker smile. He felt had a lot of weight on his shoulders.
"Sil…" He spoke, head still resting against Silvana. "Your bra is really tight." Sig whined a little. "How do you like this?"
"What? Sig. You should like it too. My body does." She said with a little confusion.
"I don't like it…"
Sil sighed, holding Sig around the waist. "Then don't take those ones when you dress…" She said in an annoyed tone. Sil was too tired for this. She looked down at his shirt, tugged at the collar and caught a whiff. "Ugh. Since we're gonna be living together, we should buy you some clothes." Sil let out a big yawn. "After I've had some sleep…"
Sig smiled at the living together bit.
Chapter 89: Check-up, Checked out
Sil and Sig manage to get some time with their mutual doctor. The one who knew of Sil's nature as a doppelganger and also the same one who dealt with Sig's red arm to the best of his abilities.
And they hoped he could continue doing that with Sig's new anomalies. Sig, in all of his darkness, got a lot of stares on the way here.
The body misplaced pals put their chairs as close as possible to each other in front of their doctor.
"Body swapping is a lost art. Not to mention illegal, trust me, if I knew a way to switch your consciousness back where they should be, I would. In fact, nobody at this hospital could help you." The doctor explained while keeping his eyes mostly on Sig's dark body.
Sig was visibly and audibly disappointed. "So we gotta go to my Uncle…" He growled. He looked up at Sil like a child. "Can I stay like this for a little longer?"
"Or you could craft a body swap spell for yourself." The doctor said before Silvana could answer Sig. "You both should be able to cast the spell if either of you knows how"
"Sig, lemme go for a sec. I need to write this down."
"Don't wanna let go. Doc, please?" He said while resting on his bodies' arm.
Their doctor nodded and wrote it down. "I won't report you two on knowing the spell as long as you just use it on yourselves. I won't report your uncle either."
"Report him."
"Sig!"
"He should go to jail!"
"Don't yell. Not now! I'm so tired!"
The two held each other in annoyance and comfort.
"Ah." The doctor wrote down the insomnia problem. "Anything else before I perform your check-ups?"
Silvana's body was healthy by her standards. But Sig's body… was dead.
Not anymore, they were in time to get it to keep living on like Sil's body did after she died from Sig's cooking that time. Sil died in Sig's body. A ghost possessing Sig's ghost-like body.
Sil laughed hard at this morbid fact, she laughed even harder because she was so tired. She died twice, that's gotta be a record for a human. "I'm so sorry Sil…" Sig cried.
"Hahahaha! Stop worrying, baby~ Hahaha! Now we got something new in common. Ha, we both died." The tired clown was still horribly sleep-deprived. But not for long, in her pockets were her prescriptions to help her sleep. At night, they went to the drug store.
"So my body is a zombie?" Sig's not used to absorbing information as well as he did before the switch. The doctor's explanation overwhelmed him to actually listen.
"More like on the zombie spectrum. We're both on the zombie and ghost spectrum but effectively that means noth… Are you okay?"
"Probably not… You died twice…" He teared up again.
"It's gotta be a record…" Sil nervously joked it off.
"Shut up. It's not funny." An opinion and a blunt one at that.
"S-Sorry… I don't fancy my luck a third time." The clown looked down at Sig's misty feet. "If it means anything… I like your body." Sil tried to be positive. "I love your misty-looking feet, and those claws."
"You can have them." Sig said angry, which was too much to Sil.
"Oh, sorry! I won't go to the eye doctor then!" Sil said on her gut reaction.
"NO!" Sig shouted. "I want you to see, Sil…"
The two held each other as an apology. They didn't like fighting. But at the same time, it did make them feel weirdly closer. But neither of them are in any mood.
"Sig… Can you pick up my prescriptions? I can't take this anymore… I wanna go home… I need sleep."
"Do that." Sig rubbed Sil on the back and pulled her down for a cheek-to-cheek rub. "The drug store near the bakery?"
"Yeah."
"Luv ya." Sil said while losing her balance due to lack of sleep before she clumsily teleported herself home. That spell still worked while in Sig's body. It looked really creepy though with all that mist lingering.
When Sig got… home? Well, yeah, Sil's caravan was his home now… He gave Sil, who was playing calming music on her record player, her medicine and she finally had some rest for the first time since she was possessed.
Author's Notes:
So it turns out this chapter was basically done this whole time… Whoops. Don't expect much more. At least anytime soon anyway. Unless you're okay with me not rereading everything. Doing everything off memory. Which I might be able to do.
The reason for the sudden return, believe it or not. Was Kingdom Hearts. Melody of Memory to be precise, and to be less precise the first game. I played the Memory Dive version of Simple and Clean. And I thought of Sil and Sig...
Next up: Awake Sig. I mean Sil! Genuine typo, oops.
