Initially, Alois had made plans, but those plans were not going to come into fruition the way that he anticipated. He was hoping to walk along and look at the shops in one of the more tourist-y areas of the city just for the sake of being tourists in their own neighbourhood. Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas as it began to rain.

Being the fast-thinking man that he was, Ciel used his jacket as an improvised umbrella, ushering his husband under his arm in order to shield him, too. It didn't do much, but being huddled together kept them warm until they could find themselves and awning to stand under.

"The weather said it was only supposed to be overcast!" complained the menace while trying to shake off some of the water.

"You didn't bring a jacket either, did you?" the bluenette questioned. "Is there one in the car? I can run back and get it..."

"It's fine. Sorry, though. I didn't even think about bringing an umbrella. We live in fuckin' London, for Christ's sake..."

With a sigh, Alois put a hand in the small of his husband's back. "So what's the plan, now?"

"Well… We could probably duck into one of the shops." Looking over his shoulder, Ciel tried to see inside the window behind them to see what kind of store they had stopped in front of. "Do we need any novelty Union Jack merchandise?"

"Only always. We might be able to find something really cool. Who knows? I do miss your patriotic underwear."

"Oh my god. You're going to seriously look for some?"

"Of course! You have the most patriotic downstairs in all of Britain! Your penis took a bullet for it's native land. Honestly, it deserves a medal."

"I don't know about that, but if you find a decent pair, I'd consider it."

"So I take it thongs are out of the question?" Alois teased while gripping the doorhandle and pulling it open with a snicker.

"You don't even have to ask that question. The answer is absolutely. I will not."

Mostly, the shop contained junk that was overpriced, but occasionally, the demons found a few gems. Alois found a necktie that he liked and he bought Revy a tanktop. He recruited Ciel in helping him pick out something for Luka, which proved harder than expected, as the youngest of the Mackens was at that age where he was starting to think that he was "too old" for certain things. Eventually, he settled on a pack of playing cards so he could play with his friends in Gehenna. Honestly, Alois didn't go in there expecting to buy anything, but he couldn't resist. This was also the man who came home with earrings or neckties for his spouse every so often simply because he felt like it and was an adult with a bank account.

"Yes!" he exclaimed, coming across a grand prize, indeed. His husband, who had been surprisingly keen at looking at knick-knacks while following behind his spouse, looked over the man's shoulder and was hardly surprised at what it was.

"So they do sell underwear, here…" Ciel observed, raising a brow. Pausing, he felt the need to question a secondary observation. "Those are briefs."

"I know. I've got to consider my options, you know."

"Oh, I thought you were shopping for me."

"I am. I'm just trying to figure out which will make your butt look best." While Ciel was nearly choking on his own spit, Alois' attention shifted elsewhere. "Briefs don't really suit you, but boxer briefs? I can see that. Hey, Ciel, feel this fabric, will ya?"

"What for?" questioned the Watchdog regardless to the fact that he was already reaching out and doing what he was told.

"I wanna make sure it's fabric you can live with. Picking underwear is serious. It's gotta breathe right, y'know? Also, the wrong fabric can be itchy, and you don't wanna walk around like that. How's the stretch?"

"Feels okay to me..." Ciel chuckled. His beau's strange seriousness struck him as funny, somehow and it became impossible not to humour him.

"Alright, I'll get it, then."

"I didn't know you were interested in underwear."

"I'm always interested in new ways to enhance how hot you are."

"Union Jack boxer briefs?"

"You have your tastes and I have mine." While walking to the checkout, Alois kept talking. "So what do you want to do after this? I don't think the rain could have let up by now. We could head back to the car and think."

"I don't know. We could dance in the rain." his husband jested.

"We could freeze our arses off."

"Something cozier?" questioned the bluenette. "Must we go somewhere? Is it too late to have a quiet day in?"

That was an idea. Suddenly, the blonde stopped walking. Honestly, Alois wanted to do nothing but spend time with Ciel, but somehow gotten in his head that he needed the excuse of a date to do so, since it had been a full week since they had seen one another. He didn't need to do that. All he had to do was be with Ciel!

"...We could put a movie on." suggested the menace. "And make popcorn."

"Sounds smashing." grinned the other, placing a kiss to his husband's cheek. Before they paid, they also grabbed an umbrella and added it to their items. Then, they stepped outside and made a slightly more tolerable walk back to the car. Returning home, they wondered if they would be able to avoid interruption, given how they were flocked to once they announced that they had goodies for the others.

Eventually, they were alone again, opting to view whatever movie they decided on in their bedroom, rather than brave commandeering the entertainment room and getting caught canoodling. They had only just gotten their things away and before they could either get popcorn or choose a fim, their hands were on one another. It was intended to be a short, intimate hug, but they lingered for too long.

"So what is the plan?" Alois questioned with his hands on his husband's hips. "Action, comedy, drama?"

"I'm not entirely sure." the bluenette replied, finding it difficult to think. He really had set foot in this room with the full intention of watching a movie with his husband, really, he did, but he had trouble finding much interest in anything other than the blonde's eyes and lips. With both hands on the other man's shoulders, one crept up in order to play with the ends of Alois' hair. "Do you have any preference?"

"I was really hoping that you did..." This was going poorly. Today, they had made plans, gone out and picked up weapons, been rained on, bought useless trinkets, and arrived home again. It wasn't the most typically romantic of outings, yet when they made plans to stay in, their thoughts completely shifted upon arrival.

"We could just talk." suggested Ciel, his voice quieted due to the proximity. "Brainstorm, a bit."

"These things are so complicated. Why is arranging romantic situations so difficult?"

"Is this not a romantic situation?"

"We-well, I guess it is..."

"Then we've succeeded." the Watchdog grinned before kissing the side of his husband's mouth, only for the other man to pull him back in for a proper one.

He meant to pull away in a timely fashion, but Ciel's hands tangled in his hair and his own found his husband's back and pulled him in closer. He'd be lying if he said that he didn't run his hands over it in order to see if he could feel the bluenette's muscles through the fabric of his shirt and his husband would be lying if he said that he didn't do the same. When the blonde finally did pull away, he was a bit breathless and his cheeks were flushed. The other demon's lips had found his neck at the separation and continued to kiss him even as he spoke.

"So is this what we've decided on doing?" Alois inquired, finally prompting his beau to return to his senses just a tad.

"I suppose so… We could still watch a movie afterward."

"That sounds like an excellent idea..." Hooking a finger through the beltloop of Ciel's trousers, he gave it a little tug. "Right now, I'm feeling a bit patriotic." A cheeky grin graced Alois' face as he could feel his husband shudder. Alois, as always, had the power to make him feel things.

The blonde had a long history of it, starting from the day they first met! Even then, Ciel found himself unable to avoid drowning in those icy blue eyes and falling prey to that gorgeous face and smoothe voice. Instead, he was drawn in closer every time. Ciel Phantomhive was not meant to live a quiet life- not now and not ever; but this one person came the closest to it. He didn't realise on that day that this person would be a driving force within him from that day onward.

Even after they parted the first time and Ciel lost his humanity, Alois was in his thoughts. As the years drew on, the bluenette tortured himself over conjuring every detail in his mind in hopes of finding out what he could have done differently- not that it mattered. He would live a boring life of solitude after fleeing to France in order to avoid her Majesty's watchful eye, only to return and grovel for his position back when the second wold war arrived. The first war was tough, but had not yet reached him when it ended. Then, he fled, only to become involved anyway. What he didn't suspect was that this is when he would feel the most alive since Alois Trancy, freeing him from the dullness of normalcy and putting him back in his rightful place amoungst turmoil. Finally, he had purpose! Surely, nothing else would ever live up to this feeling. Even the many, many missions he was sent on since the war's end would never be sufficient, leading him back into his thoughts about his ultimate rival. A rematch, at last, was in order. Then, they would see who truly has the last laugh!

The answer, however, had been both of them. Alois got his do-over and became a leader of men, creator of opportunity, and bringer of hope. Ciel, in turn, was given his humanity back. In fact, he was more "human" than he was when he was mortal. Alois spurred in him more excitement than a duel or war ever could. Those were harsh and painful, but this was warm, comforting, and alluring. Truly, the Watchdog desires this man's happiness and well being, perhaps more than his own. He treasured this man, yearned for this man, desired him, and loved him above all else. No longer could he bear traversing the shadows without him at his side, and Alois was the same.

He had not been as enamoured with Ciel on their first meeting, but now there was no man more handsome or kind in existence. He was so soft, gentle, and sincere in his treatment of the menace, more than anyone could ever understand. At last, Alois was truly loved and honestly and sincerely loved his husband in return. It was so much so that during the course of their brief separation it had accumulated to the point where it was now overflowing. The blonde yearned for those gentle touches and whispers of sweet somethings and could endure it no longer.

Truly, he had wanted to cultivate a romantic mood so that he could profess his feelings in a way that would bring them both the most mutual benefit. Yet, he already had. Despite the rain, the two had fun that day and even in the most casual of settings, that combined with the fact that they were together made it feel like a date, regardless. They were still laughing and enjoying themselves fully, just the same. A movie would still be watched, but later in the day in a much more relaxed and somewhat tired state with a few less clothes on than either of them had originally intended, but as far as they were concerned, everything had turned out perfectly.
