Today was the day. The day where people wore costumes to get candy and had to deal with all things scary and spooky. It was Halloween and despite being a known as a scaredy-cat, Shaggy was very excited. Not for the scary stuff, but for how much candy he was going to get. Being a full-time nudist now, he didn't have plans to wear a costume, but Velma said she had an idea and was going to give him the costume today. He had no clue what it could be, but he hoped it wouldn't be something he regretted later.
After another whatever day of school, Shaggy quickly went home to greet Scooby and he let Scooby lick him all over, even in places most people would disapprove of. But Shaggy didn't care, as rules meant little to him at this point, and it was another thing he and Scooby had that they were never going to tell anyone else.
Once the licking was done and Shaggy cleaned himself up, Shaggy and Scooby left the house to meet up with Fred, Daphne, and Velma to go trick-or-treating. When he met his fellow Mystery Inc. partners, they had their costumes on. Velma was Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Fred was a knight, and Daphne was Wonder Woman.
"Hey guys!" said Shaggy.
"Hey Shaggy, I see you're as underdressed as ever." said Velma.
"Yeah. So, do you have my costume?" asked Shaggy.
"Yes, I do. Here you go." Velma said before giving Shaggy his costume, which was two long black rectangles connected by two strings.
"What is it?" asked Shaggy.
"Put it over your shoulders and you'll see soon enough." said Velma.
Shaggy did what Velma asked him to and put the costume over his shoulders, with the strings pressed on his shoulders and the black rectangles covering his crotch and butt.
"Okay, this is weird." said Shaggy.
"The black rectangles represent censor bars they use on media. They cover the naughty parts that aren't allowed on TV. I wanted to give you a costume that was both simple and clever." said Velma.
"Velma, I really like it. I can dress up and still feel like I'm not wearing anything. This is awesome." said Shaggy.
"Thank you." said Velma.
"So, gang? Are we about to go trick-or-treating?" asked Fred.
"And get as much candy as possible? Heck yeah!" said Shaggy.
"Then let's go!" said Fred.
For the next few hours, things were going really well for Mystery Inc. Their costumes were well received, and their empty buckets were filled up with candy in record time. They didn't have to deal with any bullies and if any mean kids came near them, Scooby gave them a mean look and a growl, which scared them off.
By the time they were done, their buckets were overflowing with sweets, and they considered Halloween to be a massive success.
"Okay, that was fun. So, Halloween party at my house, right?" asked Daphne.
"Absolutely! I just need to drop off my candy at my house." said Shaggy.
"Okay, we'll see you soon." Daphne said before she, Fred, and Velma walked to her house, while Shaggy and Scooby walked back to theirs.
"So, what did you think of Halloween, Scoob?" asked Shaggy.
"As long as you were happy, I was happy." said Scooby.
"Thanks bud. I can't wait to eat all this candy later, even if it'll do a number on my stomach." said Shaggy.
What Shaggy didn't realize right then and there was while Halloween was more or less over, the scary part had yet to begin.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Another longish gap between uploads (6 days), get used to this. I wish it didn't have to be this way but school is that much of a pain. The next chapter will deal with Mystery Inc.'s next big adversary, the Black Knight Ghost, who will target Shaggy and Scooby. As usual, I'm working on a ton of stories right now (one-shots and full-length), so stay tuned for more updates. Other than that, I hope you all have a wonderful day. Bye for now and stay safe.
