Chapter 1: heeding the call from Hoen
Josh:
It has been 3 years since the events in the Sinnoh region had come to its overall conclusion and since we had seen our friends, Lace, Tank and Nei. I felt somewhat bad for leaving Nei to explain everything that had happened and based on the news, everyone was remained nameless for the thwarting the plans of Team Plasma. Since then, I've been keeping in contact with Nei and her reputation among some of the other regions has only been improving to the point where in the last year she was awarded the title of doctor. I haven't heard from either Tank or Lace, I assumed they were travelling the regions. I was glad to make new friends and every once in a while, I can tell that Leafeon wants to see Nei more, partly for her mature way of thinking but also because she doesn't have to behave like a big sister or mother to Jolteon. I looked over to both of them, Leafeon was curled by my side and Jolteon was standing on the edge of the cruise ship we were on.
We were on our way to the Hoen region and Jolteon seemed more distracted than anything else, kind of like the reverse of how he usually is where he used to be happier go lucky and space out once in a while. He seems to space out on a regular basis and pokes fun to Leafeon. I turned my attention to the sky, and it was both warm and clear, perfect weather for not only an adventure but also perfect weather to enjoy the summer breeze too. Looking to the other passengers on the cruise, they seemed to mingle among themselves and their pokemon seemed to relax in the pool in the middle of the top deck. With the Hoen region finally becoming more prominent with mega evolution, I took it on myself to see how the gym leaders could fair using the mega forms and earn more badges, maybe even collect some of the mega stones. It was said that these stones started appearing around different regions and they're items for pokemon to hold to acquire the mega evolution. So, while I'm on the road, I might as well see if I can collect three mega stones specifically for the three in my party. They have been there for me through thick and thin, its difficult to imagine changing my team when they're both my comrades and friends. Closing my eyes and enjoying the summer worth with these thoughts in mind, the thoughts of the mega stones and the smaller stone needed to complete the connection between myself and the pokemon. That being said I would need to quickly visit the lab and talk to Professor Birch, hopefully he has the bracelet with a key stone in it.
The ships horn sounded loudly, and the captain of the ship shouted out, alerted the passengers to our arrival to port. Jolteon was unusually calm and Leafeon was just as surprised as I was. When we finally made it to port, we were among the first to get off of the ship. We arrived near Petalburg City and the area had a forest nearby, the city itself was small but had a wholesomeness to it that was sublime and there was a nice-looking beach close to the port. The beach itself was small, like the city, but was large enough for several families to enjoy time there together. We made our way through the city, walking by the buildings and by the small pools of water to make it through route 104. The long grass and the wild encounters seemed like there was fewer than what I'm use to, there was even smaller town known as Oldale Town. They had a small population, but it was a pleasant walk through, taking mere minutes to complete the walk from one end to the other, and we walked through the long grass of route 101 to arrive at the first of our destinations. The professor was known for his love of peaceful and quiet places to focus on both his work and studies, Littleroot Town was in his mind the perfect place to work, and I could see why. It was not too far from the ocean and the forests for a wide range of things to study about the pokemon world.
We made our way to the lab and Professor Birch was going over some of his field research notes. Leafeon tilted her head and Jolteon scurried over, I guessed to help gather his notes. Professor Birch was confused when Jolteon nudged the paperwork to him and jolteon returned to Leafeons side.
"a trainer? My apologies for the mess, how can I help you?" he asked curiously with a tone of his voice was so upbeat and seeing all the work he still had to do, its surprising how cheerful someone like him can be. I answered "I'm looking for a special bracelet, I figured that you would know what I mean, I mean being the professor of this region" the professor nodded and presented a bracelet with a key stone in it. He told "you mean this, I'm sorry but I can't allow it to part with me since there's still some research being done with it" I thought of a way he'd give me the bracelet, I understood the importance of the research and on top of that, I didn't have a mega stone to make use of it. I showed my badges and asked "well maybe someone who has won the badges from almost all the regions might be able to use the key stone? Or would be easier to undergo a test?" he contemplated the request and answered "I'll consider it but to prove your skill, as impressive as those badges are, you'll need to collect this regions badges from the gym leaders. Do you think you can do that?" I nodded and agreed to take on the gym leaders of Home. He continued "I'll place this into a box and pass it to the final gym leader so he can give it to you upon his potential defeat or if he finds you worthy" I nodded and just like that, the challenge was set.
Jolteon – and just like that chapter 1 has finished ^-^
Leafeon – but you were quiet and somewhat mature, I don't know how to feel about that
Jolteon – what?! Im just thinking o.o where are our friends?
Leafeon – I guess like everyone; you'll have to read on to find out ^-^
