Chapter 12: Duel of the Dinos

Syrus and Hassleberry were having even less luck in regards to finding anything. Although they thought they had found water, it had turned out to only be a mirage. Exasperated, Syrus plopped down right into the sand.

"This is hopeless. We'll never get home!"

"Now what kind of talk is that? We just got to keep searching."

"Hassleberry, we've been walking for an hour. Its scorching hot, we have no food or water, and all we've seen so far is sand and a cactus. Not Cacti, Cactus! Face it, there's no one else..."

AAA-CHOO!

The two jumped when they heard the loud sneeze, looking in the direction to see a massive dust cloud in the distance.

"What was that?"

"It might be someone who needs help! Come on, lets go!"

"Ah man, now I know why Chumley hates running so much!"

Despite his complaints, Syrus took off after Hassleberry. The two arrived to the scene to find a large Dinosaur, coughing and sneezing.

"AAA-CHOO! Stupid allergies."

"Hey there, you alright?"

The dinosaur turned to the two, sniffling.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm okay. Name's Kabazalus, and I just can't stop sneezing. ACHOO! See what I mean?"

"Well, I can see how that might be a problem. My name is Tyranno Hassleberry, but you can just call me Hassleberry, and that there is Syrus. Listen, we're a little lost. Is there anywhere around here where we can rest?"

Kabazalus shook his head, wiping snot from his snout.

"Afraid not. Nothing but sand out here for miles, as far as I can tell. But hey, you want to duel? Things have been rather quiet, and I was getting bored. What do you say?"

Hassleberry grinned madly.

"I say you're on!"

"Sweet! Let's do this!"

GAME ON!"

Hassleberry: 8000

Kabazalus: 8000

"Sinc I ha...ha...CHOO! Since I have the home field advantage, I'll let you start us off."

"Don't mind if I do! And I'll start with the field spell Jurassic World! Next, I summon Black Stego (1200-1500/2000-2300). I'll set one card face down and end my turn."

"Not bad, but don't forget your field spell affects both sides of the field, so my Hyper Hammerhead gains a boost too(1500-1800/1200-1500). Hyper Hammerhead, take out his Stego!"

The Hammerheaded dinosaur roared and charged, ready to smash its opponents to bits...

Only to be swatted back to its master's side of the field, Black Stego having taken a kneeling stance.

"Oooh, did I mention my monster's effect? When he's attached, he automatically switches to defense mode. Tough break."

Kabazalus: 7500

"Maybe so, but my Hammerhead's effect activates! Any monster he battles that isn't destroyed goes right back to your hand."

"What?"

The hammer head snapped back, smashing its face into the ground which sent shockwaves that forced Hassleberry's monster back to the hand, much to his frustration.

"I'll set two cards face down and end my turn. Your move, bumbleberry."

"Its Hassleberry! And to start,I summon Sabersaurus in attack mode! And I'll give him support with Gilasaurus! And just so he won't be a problem later, I activate Smashing Ground to get rid of your Hyper Hammerhead!"

The ground underneath the dinosaur crumbled, sending him to a fiery death.

"Alright my Dinosaurs, attack him directly!"

Kabazalus brought his tiny arms up to defend himself from the barrage of attacks, pushing him back and nearly toppling him over.

Kabazalus: 3600

"Your move."

Kabazalus snorted, drawing his next card with fire in his eyes.

"You asked for it. I activate the face down, Fossil Excavation, bringing back Hyper Hammerhead with its effects negated."

"What? Why didn't you use that last turn? You wouldn't have lost as many life points."

"You'll see in a minute, but first I activate Big Evolution Pill. Now by tributing Hyper Hammerhead, I can normal summon level 5 or higher Dinosaurs without...ACHOO! Tributing. Now, I summon Ultimate Tyranno (3000-3300/2200-2500)!"

Clashing through the prehistoric forest was a large, fierce dinosaur that let out a mighty roar.

"Now, I equip him with Megamorph, making his attack double his original (3300-6000). Take out his Sabersaurus!"

With a mighty swing of its tail, Ultimate Tyranno sent Hassleberry's dino flying into a tree where it shattered on impact.

Hassleberry: 4200

"I activate Infernal Tempest! Since I took over 3000 points of damage, every monster in our deck and graveyard are removed from play! And I'll chain it with Emergency Provisions, giving me an extra 1000 life points (4200-5200)."

"But remember, my Tyranno can attack all of your monsters once each, so take out his Gilasaurus!"

Without missing a beat, the tyrannosaurus knelt down, grabbed the smaller dinosaur, threw it up into the air before swallowing it whole.

Hassleberry: 900

"You may have survived this turn, but next turn its all over for you."

"I wouldn't count on it, because now your Tyranno's points are halved (6000-1500)."

"It doesn't matter! As long as I have my Big Evolution Pill, I can summon Powerful dinos without paying a dime, so no matter what you throw out next turn I'll beat over it with ease."

"Too bad you won't have a next turn, because this duel ends now! I summon Tyranno Infinity (?/0) in attack mode!"

"Huh? Where are its attack points?"

"For every troop I have removed from play, my Tyranno Infinity gains 1000 attack points. And thanks to Inferno Tempest, I removed a grand total of 20, so that's...

"20,000 attack points (0-20,000)?"

"Tyranno Infinity, show his so called Ultimate Tyranno who's boss!"

With a massive roar, Hassleberry's monster charged up electricity in its horns before ramming its opponent in the gut, sending a massive shockwaves that destroyed Ultimate Tyranno and sent Kabazalus flying.

Kabazalus: 0000

Hassleberry wins!

With great effort, Kabazalus pushed himself to his feet, feeling rather sore.

"Good game, Hassleberry. I really... ACHOO! Sorry, I was trying...ACHOO! ACHOO! ACHOO!"

Syrus and Hassleberry exchanged looks before sneaking off. They figured Kabazalus had better things to worry about than them.
