AN: I'm back. And ready for more good content making. Sleep is for losers, M ratings are the best, Maple is best waifu...other facts. Let's get started. I'm tired of waiting.
Reaching the end of the month as always will bring a new deadline, new challenges, and new circumstances. Wonder how it will all play out?
FEEDBACK:
Gamelover41592: Thanks, the chapter really did take a turn into more dark themes didn't it?
Traid1994: Never seen you comment before, welcome! And maybe Jason will join maybe not, who can say?
Alaude Hibari: With Kid Flash I wanted to keep in character, he seemed like one to be overall impatient with decision making with things like this.
Regarding cursing, on reread I feel you have a point. Red Hood's section had a swear every other line. I didn't mean it to come out like that, I guess it was an unconscious decision to try and sound more thuggish or something. I will be sure to watch for that.
Broken Requiem: I've discussed your issues alrea, but this is more to everyone. If you wish to have a longer discussion about something with me, please join our discord. The PM system, while fine, does not show notifications on my phone. And I prefer being able to answer your questions immediately so we can work through our issues or debates. I'll still check my PMs if you prefer that way, but for a more quick and personal discussion, please join our discord. And please bring your best memes!
Docron: I can understand your worries but, when it comes to Red Hood I do have a plan in mind. In fact I wanted to include him from the very beginning! Because this fic is a lot like the Knightfall arc was in the comics. The whole point is to challenge Batman physically, emotionally, and morally. Without Red Hood, arguably Batman's greatest failure, in play...I feel like that point wouldn't hit as hard as it should. Plus friend, you and I both saw the reviews, how could I not give what the fans wanted?
Kerrowe: I'm working on it. Should be fixed by the time this chapter is uploaded.
Dakota Bruder: That sounds cool but, if it comes off too random then it wouldn't fit.
Ok I have a long boneworks for this fic to keep track of the Confidant Ranks in the fic. Here is what was revealed so far in terms of mirrors:

NANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANA
May 30th, Morning
Watchtower
Batman teleported to the base with a scowl on his face. A look of intense anger, at look of total and utter rage. As he stormed to the meeting room, everyone gave him a wide berth. Everyone, no matter how powered they were, backed away from the Dark Knights fury.
Batman was barely holding back his anger. Half….HALF! Of the Titans had chosen to side with the Phantom Thieves. What arrogance, what naivety, he couldn't believe his ears, he couldn't believe they would go against the League like that.
He could believe his own son would….
No...put it to the side...Diana would pull on that string should he allow it. She wanted to help them, help a clearly unstable team that, despite their good intentions...can not, NOT be allowed to turn a blind eye. How could those foolish children not see it.
Now...he'll have to convince the League to bring them in as well, and reteach them just how justice works. This time he'll do it personally.
NANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANA
Diana took a deep inhale and released it. She was trying to calm her nerves. As she instructed, her sister went to the Titans and told them everything, following with a rallying cry to aid the Thieves. The result...half of the team is now in hiding from their own teachers….in case...in case they would decide to keep going after the Thieves.
The glares she got from multiple members for that action, she couldn't believe them. Those children have minds of their own, they should not follow blindly every instruction. Yet all the blame went to her, for allowing some of their children to align themselves with what they considered terrorists.
Well Diana will prove them wrong about that, she had to. For the sake that all that is good and just.
She made her way to the meeting room. Everyone showed this time around, everyone appeared for what would surely be...the tensest debate they had for a long time.
She triple checked to make sure she had everything she needed in her flie. She sat down in her assigned seat, the one to the left of Superman, the head of the League. She was early, and so was he…
Batman gave her a long cold stare, one that judged her very soul for daring to do what she did. She met it with a fierce look as well, refusing to give any ground.
"I couldn't believe it. After everything we've been through together…" Batman growled.
"Don't make this about emotions Bruce. You have done the same thing as I before. To call me out for such is hypocritical. Let us both make our cases, and let this play out fairly. Like adults." Diana said.
"Fine." Batman hissed.
They said in cold silence as the rest of the League funneled into the large meeting room. Superman took his seat at the head of the table.
"As I'm sure you're all aware, this meeting is about the Phantom Thieves and what action we should take with said group. I've heard all of the gossip running through the halls, and I will not allow it to interfere with this judgment. I want this to be a fair assessment of facts and rational plans of action to take. With that said, Diana, you've said you had important intel to share regarding them and their connection to the Amazon race. Please state your report." Superman said, calmly but sternly
"Thank you. My report comes from Donna, trusted ally, and valued former member of the Teen Titans. We both received a call to action by our goddess Athena. To judge this group fairly and justly, unfortunately under all of your noses, especially Batman's. If he were to hear this before now, people would surely die." Wonder Woman explained.
"And why is now any different, Princess? What makes you think the monster won't kill us all now for your stupidity?" Batman asked, harshly
"Well you tell me Dark Knight? We both have a good read on the demon in question." Wonder Woman looked.
Batman clenched his fists together.
"Batman, would you care to elaborate?" Superman asked.
"...Whoever is at the head of all thinks he is too powerful to consider the League a threat. That was shown in his bold killing of Zatanna. Despite his obvious power, I only get a childlike aura of the want for entertainment. He wants the Phantom Thieves to be controversial, he wants the world's government to consider them threats, and most importantly...he wants us all to bicker and argue over what action to take." Batman explained.
The whole room murmured at that.
"He's probably watching us all right now. Enjoying every second of the line in the sand being drawn." Batman growled.
It was true, Batmite was watching the whole thing being played out. Popcorn in hand, smiling evilly as he ate.
"Then surely you can recognize the idiocy of letting such occur. I know you've already managed to read the report cover to cover, backwards, looking over every miniscule detail for this debate. Certainly you can believe me when I say that the Phantom Thieves are not terrorists, not evil, not even untrustworthy...but deserving of all our support." Wonder Woman said.
"No." Batman said simply.
"Batman you are playing right in the demon's hands." Wonder Woman said.
"I admit that, but you must also admit something…" Batman said.
"What is that?" Wonder Woman asked.
"You're compromised." Batman growled.
Gasps filled the room.
"Batman, what are you saying Diana would never-" Flash was going to say.
"Quiet. How long have you've tried Diana? How long have you tried to convince your mother, every Amazon...that they must join the fight in Man's world. How long have you allowed your culture's hate and bigotry against men cloud their judgement, when their help would surely support us in spades." Batman pressed.
"Batman, this is cold. Even for you." Diana hissed.
"But I'm right aren't I? This all must be a dream come true for you. To finally be allowed back into the home you've longed for so long. And in doing so, you've let the power of your people fall into the hands of a bunch of unstable children. Children who at any moment can be ordered to kill all your people. With Ares and Satanael right by their side." Batman pressed.
"That will never happen. My goddess would not work with them if such a thing could ever occur." Diana said.
"How can you be so certain? You can't possibly know what the demon is planning, what he has in store. You know as well as I do that he could at any moment change his plan. And the Phantom Thieves will have no choice but to follow his word." Batman said.
"I have foreseen such a future, it is a rare future...but possible nevertheless. The demon can easily possess them all, in doing so take over the entire universe and killing the inhabitants. To align ourselves with the Thieves, is to align with chaos itself." Dr. Fate said.
"That can't happen, I won't allow it." Hawkgirl growled.
"Such a thing would be along the lines of a Darkseid invasion. Something the world can't afford to live again." Aquaman said.
"My thoughts exactly." Dr. Fate said.
"But that's exactly my point as well Dr. Fate." Wonder Woman said.
"How so?" Dr. Fate hissed.
"I know what you all are thinking of doing. Imprison the Thieves to draw out the demon, yes? Such a thing could work but could also risk them dying, or people they care about dying. Surely an alliance between the Thieves without Batman in the mix would work greatly to battle the demon!" Diana said.
"I won't allow a bunch of metas fly around Gotham Princess." Batman siad, firmly.
"Oh? And mages are completely fine then? I know you've been working with Dr. Fate, and having the Titans do undercover work, tell me whatever is the difference?" Diana challenged.
"Subtlety. I won't let you sully the legend I worked so hard to make. Once metas start helping Gotham, is the day all the Rouges adapt, the day Joker gets even more violent to balance things out." Batman gritted out.
"Despite your enemies mostly obsessing over you, the world does not revolve around you, Batman. The Thieves offer a solution to the insanity, a permanent solution to evil. A solution that was not mind control like you believe, but genuine redemption. We can not allow such things to be thrown away." Diana said.
"It is not genuine." Batman pressed.
"I have multiple exhibits of proof that claim otherwise." Diana said.
"Then explain when Selina called me, begging to help her. A clear look of desperation in her eyes. It was not genuine." Batman said.
"Ah yes, that. Do you know what she was doing after that call Batman? What was she willing to do?" Diana asked.
The room fell silent.
"Selina, held a hostage gun to his head. And threaten the Thieves to undo their work. Tell me what does that tell you Batman?" Diana asked.
"Whoa, I uh...didn't hear about that." Cyborg sweated.
"She would have never-" Batman started.
"Always quick to defend her Batman. How many years have you allowed her to rob and steal. I understand informants as much as anyone, but a professional knows when an informant is more trouble than they are worth. A professional knows when someone is unstable and dangerous." Diana said.
"And yet you support a bunch of teenagers, who grow exceptionally stronger on each encounter. And yet you don't see the possible danger in allowing them to go free." Batman hissed.
"I just find it humorous is all, how your rationality works. To be so enabling of a clear person that needed help. And yet, you suggest out of fear, to imprison a bunch of children for the rest of their days." Diana said.
"I think my rationale is just fine. Yours however, is flimsy at best. The Phantom Thieves admitted to me that would kill if it came to it. Despite everything they can accomplish, despite their power, they still could kill someone if it came to it. What's stopping them Diana? The demon could stop anything that came his way." Batman said.
"And yet the same could be said about you or me Batman. We are all capable of killing, we all could be easily corrupted by outside forces or from within. The thing is we resist such temptations, and as an Amazon, I can respect their honesty. What we must do is be empathetic, and offer a guiding hand. Teach them to not fall to such sin." Wonder Woman said.
"They allowed a woman to be tortured, and brainwashed Diana. They will not listen to such teachings." Batman growled.
"Who was this woman Batman? And who was the one who tormented her?" Diana challenged. Shee was not going to allow such words to sway the room.
"Talia, while demented and cruel, did not deserve such a fate. Whether it was Trigon, Satanael, or Joker himself, it was allowed to occur. And they should pay for such actions." Batman said.
"And yet it was another woman you enable to do as she pleases." Diana said.
"Batman, your judgment when it comes to those two have always been...lacking." Green Arrow said.
"I agree. Both should have been taking care of long ago. But we respected your tactics and let it be. Now your inaction has its consequences." Black Canary said.
"Though with Athena's turn does raise the question, if it came to it, would Wonder Woman follow her with blind loyalty like the rest of her sisters?" Aquaman asked.
"I am not a blind follower of the gods. If she turns, I will fight for what's right." Wonder Woman said.
"You've let that god tear the Titans apart. Let her sway your sister to convince a bunch of children to her side." Batman said.
"They have minds of their own Batman. You neglect to add your own son has joined their cause as well. Surely that gives them some merit." Diana said.
"I know for a fact that they weren't forced into anything. It was an honest conversation that...just went south." Cyborg said.
"Then they are all wrong. And I'll teach them that myself." Batman growled.
"Bats, I respect you and your reasoning, but I'm not going to let you beat my nephew to a pulp. In fact I can see why he would side with Donna on multiple points I'm hearing." Flash said.
"You cannot be serious Barry." Hawkgirl growled.
"I am, I can see the thought process. I've speed read the file. The concept of curing Joker alone, of maybe changing Thawn or possibly even Darkseid, god willing, I can understand why he and Dick would risk our anger for such a thing." Flash said.
"Cure?! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" Hawkgirl roared.
"Yet it isn't. Look at your file Shayera. In it you'll see the basics of the spell they cast on those they target. Completely moral, completely permanent, completely just." Diana said as she glared at Batman.
"In your argument, I was unable to focus on the file." Martian Manhunter said as he flipped through it all.
"Apologizes. I did not mean to get us all sidetracked." Diana said.
"Let us begin with the first main issue. Can we allow Trigon to be controlled by this group?" Superman said.
"Of course not. No argument needed." Batman said.
"But they managed to do what even we could not. Raven herself sided with the Thieves did she not? Surely that speaks volumes... her trust toward them." Martian Manhunter said.
"The intel we got from Hell sent the same message. The report stated that Donna was the woman right besides Joker during his little speech. Holding the lasso of truth as well...That's a lot of things aiding in his case Batman." Green Lantern said.
"I never said not to believe his words, John. I said that he's a child with too much power. He can be right about all of this but is he ready? Is he truly able to keep Trigon in check?" Batman asked.
"We can't risk that. We can't risk him keeping hold of both the Amazons and Hell. Speaking of, did you know about the debates currently going on in Heaven Dr. Fate?" Hawkgirl asked.
Dr. Fate was furious at that part of the report, gripping the papers harshly.
"I most certainly did not. And will be paying them a visit after this meeting." He gritted out.
"Another point that I would like to address. They have been doing all of this under all of our noses, Joker can summon gods that can control lesser gods. How are you absolutely certain that they won't use that for ill, Diana?" Batman pressed.
"Because such powerful beings wouldn't if he was lying." Diana said.
"Words mean nothing, what of their actions, or rather inaction?" Batman pressed.
"Yes, why would they stick to more minor offenders such as this Black Mask and Mad Hatter? Why haven't they made a move on the murderous clown?" Aqualad asked.
"Read the report Aquaman, it says it right here...the true name of the Joker is required for the spell. Even we do not have such information." Superman said.
"I see. I then see no reason to not offer at least a guiding hand in that matter." Martian Manhunter said.
"You're being too carefree on them J'onn. You'll let a bunch of children go after a psychopath that has killed hundreds. I will not allow that." Batman hissed.
"So what, we are supposed to just leave him to you? Giving him the endless fight that he wants?" Black Canary asked.
"It is not an endless fight, Canary. It's about proving us mortal, normal people can keep a hold on justice." Batman said.
"Bats, as nice as that sounds...when it comes to Joker I wouldn't mind the help." Green arrow said.
"Help that's morally dubious at best?" Batman challenged.
"The reports are thorough and I agree that it is questionable methods...however I think it's the best shot at taking the bastard down. Every second we don't take him down, people die." Green Arrow said.
"This is ridiculous. I've expected better out of all of you. You can not see clearly, that just handing over power to a bunch of children is dangerous?!" Batman spat.
"We are not handing over power, we are offering aid. You just don't like it because you would not have control." Diana said, firmly.
"Aid...AID?! Push aside everything you claim the Phantom Thieves are claiming to stand for. At the end of the day the one who captured them is in power, in control. The one who killed the great Zatanna, the one who burnt down thousands of books meant to teach and guide beginning mages! I will not stand back and let you all offer hands to clear pawns of a mad titan!" Dr. Fate slammed the table.
"Dr. Fate, please calm yourself. We are not aiding this demon." Diana said.
"You all might as well be. To think you would fall for such a trick. By one who literally calls himself the Trickster no less." Dr. Fate glared at Diana.
"And what trick is that?" Diana growled.
"The possibility that the very purpose of these children's pursuits is to sow chaos. The demon using their power to bring doubt upon our society, doubt upon the League, doubt throughout ourselves." Dr. Fate said.
"That can not be I-" Diana tried.
"Then prove it so Wonder Woman! Prove that beyond a reasonable doubt the possibility that your goddess, Hell, even the Phantom Thieves has been tricked by this demon into helping build power. Power from all walks of life, only to be taken over by him when the time is right." Dr. Fate yelled.
Diana glared in silence at the man.
"Think about it Diana. Why would a demon want all this to occur, just to toy with me? Maybe. But we all know that there's almost always more to it than that." Batman said.
"We should still try and help the Thieves, despite the risk." Diana pressed.
"No. That risk could be our undoing. The saying goes if something looks too good to be true...it is...The Thieves are but pawns in a massive game of corruption and power, we must weed them out in its early stages, before the demon becomes too much to handle." Dr. Fate said.
"But what about the possibility that they could cure those like Joker?" Flash asked.
"We are not children. We can not as easily fall into the trap of a trojan horse. The Phantom Thieves are nothing but that. A death sentence disgusted as a means of change. Until proved otherwise, you cannot trust them. They may be genuine, they may be just...but a mad man never tells his pawns the whole picture. And until that picture is seen, the Phantom Thieves must be stopped. Before they prove more than they are worth." Dr. Fate said.
"That's...you can't...I CAN'T JUST SIT BACK AND LET THESE CHILDREN ROT!" Diana roared, tears pooling at her eyes in anger.
"They must do so...or else billions might die in exchange for a few souls. Tell me, is that worth it? Would you be able to live with yourself if you are wrong?" Dr. Fate asked, coldly.
"Would you be able to live with yourself if you're wrong? I think so Fate. You both would never let them free after this. Even if we beat this demon, and your theories are wrong, on the off chance that it may come to pass...they will forever be imprisoned." Diana hissed.
"It's a sad life. But a safe one Wonder Woman. We must quell this star before it becomes a supernova. The Phantom Thieves burn too bright, too fierce...they will surely explode without proper care. Even without the demon controlling them, they must be kept in check. When all is said and done, only then can you yell for us to aid them." Dr. Fate concluded.
"You will tell us where they are, so all this can end. And so we can properly discuss to the Titans why they were so foolish." Batman demanded.
"She will do no such thing...Before we come to a vote." Superman sighed.
"Kal...you must listen to me! We can't let such a good opportunity for change go to waste like this!" Diana said.
"You heard him Diana. This is the only way." Batman pressed.
"IT ISN'T AND YOU KNOW IT BRUCE! DON'T COME AT ME WITH SUCH LIES!" Diana roared.
"We have both made our cases have we not? Let us decide then." Dr. Fate said.
"Diana...do you have anything else to add? Anything that can prove that the Phantom Thieves have no risk of being used in such a way?" Martian Manhunter asked.
"I do not….I...I...do not. I can only say to have faith, have hope...that if such a thing were to happen. We would save not just them...but the world. As we always have...As we always will… We can't let the possibility of such powerful allies fall to such a thing as...paranoia." Diana pleaded.
"I have hope, Diana. Hope that this all won't be for nothing. Hope that the time wasted by all this hasn't led to the Phantom Thieves gaining even more hold on the world at large. Hope that once we do capture them, it won't be too late to stop whatever the demon has planned." Batman grounded out.
"*Sigh* I believe we've all heard enough. Unless there were other questions regarding this matter." Superman rose from his seat, putting his hands on the table.
Silence filled the room, Superman looked at Diana. His friend...one of his closest...and never seen her look so lost. So hopeless...He hoped they were making the right decision.
"All those in favor of...arresting the Phantom Thieves. At least for the time being…" Superman said.
Batman and Dr. Fate immediately said, "Aye."
Hawkgirl followed shortly after, as well as Aquaman.
Green Lantern, shaking his head was the next one to call, almost noncommittal.
Green Arrow and Black Canary were in the same boat as Lantern.
Martian Manhunter and Flash were more troubled about the Titans than the Phantom Thieves in all of this. They knew what Batman would have to do in order to bring them in.
"Aye," Martian Manhunter said almost painfully.
"You better take it easy on the kids Batman. Or else me and my sister both will teach you a lesson." Flash said, referring to his nephew.
"I will make them come home as easily as I can Barry. The rest is up to their stubbornness." Batman said.
"I'm going to regret this. Aye." Flash sighed.
With the matter of the Titans settled Cyborg followed.
"Aye." Superman said finally.
Wonder Woman was stunned, speechless. Despite how Kal worded it...she knew...she knew that the kids were now forever fated to be targeted from all fronts. Forever sought out to be imprisoned at best, tortured and slowly killed at worse by more evil parties.
"Diana. Tell me where they are. Now." Batman demanded, coldly.
"You...you…" Diana stuttered, her body still reeling.
"Diana...please...it's for...the world's benefit." Superman said.
"You...You all disgust me...all of you." Wonder Woman said, softly.
The room was quiet at that.
"These children...these...prisoners, HOSTAGES are screaming, BEGGING! For a savior! And you let the captor just...have his way." Wonder Woman spat.
"It's the only way, for everyone's safety." Batman pressed.
"Keep telling yourselves that. Keep telling yourselves that, when they die by your hand. Because we couldn't stop it if he tried. Constantine couldn't. What makes you so sure?" Diana hissed.
"Give me their location." Batman said, firmly.
"And you Bruce. You hide behind your justice, your legacy...but deep down...I think you're afraid. Afraid that everything you've done is for nothing. What you've done is nothing in comparison to what a bunch of children have accomplished in a few short months." Diana said, glaring Batman down.
"Location. Now." Batman demanded.
"...No…" Diana said.
"Don't do anything drastic Diana...we have to do this." Hawkgirl said.
"I won't...I won't let you do this to them." Diana said, tears freely falling down her face.
"Don't make me force it from you, Princess." Batman hissed.
Diana backed away, tears turned to rage, a furious rage.
"I can't believe I've joined a group that would do such a thing." She said, voice filled with venom.
"Diana, please." Superman walked up to her and tried to calm her.
"GET AWAY FROM ME KAL! IF THEY MUST BE IMPRISONED THAN I WILL BE TOO!" Diana roared.
"Diana...don't make us do this." Black Canary begged softly. Tears appearing in her eyes.
"As of right now, I quit the Justice League. And align myself with the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Arrest me, show the world that you dare arrest another hero for such paranoia!" Wonder Woman held out her hands in challenge, no one made a move.
"Have it your way." Batman growled as he walked over and cuffed her.
"Batman! She's our friend!" Superman shouted.
"You heard her Kent. She has now confessed to aligning herself to known terrorists. We may not believe that, but the government surely does. What do you think they'll do when they learn we just set her free?" Batman asked.
"I...We can't." Superman tried.
"Yes Kal, you can't...you all can't see the bigger picture. I'll never say a word, no matter what you do. As long as I live...My fate lies with my sisters, my culture, and whoever else aligns themselves with the Phantom Thieves." Diana said, filled with determination.
"Batman this will cause a revolt, millions of people will not take kindly to this!" Green Lantern said.
"What choice do we have? I'm all ears." Batman said as he escorted Wonder Woman to a cell.
"You made this bed Kal. Lie in it." Diana hissed.
"Call the Titans, tell them the decision has been made. That they have twenty four hours to report back to me...or I'll hunt them down." Batman said as he walked Diana.
Superman and the rest of the League stood silent, this was getting off the handle for the group too fast. But Hawkgirl, steeled herself and went to the comm room to deliver the new orders.

Nightwing turned back on his comm, the order he gave was to turn them off in case worse came to worse and Tim tried to track him. But he also had to hear the word the League gave. Just in case by a long shot the League made the right call.
"Attention, all Leaguers and Teen Titan Members. The verdict has been given. The Phantom Thieves are to be arrested and questioned, the length of captivity needed is currently uncertain. As of now Wonder Woman has chosen to quit the League and align herself with the. She is now being held in captivity for this choice. Any Titan members that do not report to Batman within twenty four hours are to be assumed the same. Don't be foolish children. This is not a game. Choose wisely." Hawgirl announced.
Nightwing crushed the comm in his hand.
"Bad news then?" Joker asked from afar, leaning against a wall.
"They arrested Wonder Woman. I can't believe this they had all of the same proof we saw, it should have been obvious. What did Bruce pull out of his ass to-"
"We both know what it was Dick. Paranoia that I'm a pawn, which I am, and I can at any moment be ordered to invade with the Amazons and Hells forces. Or better yet I'm a living trap for them to spring and my little demon lord will kill them all once they are all cozy. Or something like that." Joker scoffed.
"And you can say, without any doubt, that won't happen?" Nightwing asked.
"Oh, hell no." Joker said simply.
Nightwing sighed as he looked at the clouded sunrise.
"I get it if ya wanna go back. I would in your shoes." Joker said.
"What would that make me then? A lackey, that's what." Nightwing said.
"A lackey with a promise of success. But hey, I still get it." Joker said.
"I left Gotham with the sole purpose of getting out of Bruce's shadow, to think he would still view me as a kid. After all this…" Nightwing pinched his brow.
"I think I'm partly to blame. I did take three people very close to his personal life. What's he supposed to do, laugh it off?" Joker scoffed.
"But even with Diana on your side...I…" Nightwing couldn't find the words.
"Things rarely go good for me Dick. You'll see it for yourself soon enough. If you say that is, but for now you should tell your team." Joker said.
"One thing is for sure, I'm not leaving. If anything to prove him wrong about all of this. Locking up Wonder Woman alone, should have clued them in this wasn't the right move." Nightwing said.
"And with the Amazons hearing it, along with Donna and Cassandra here...We have to break her out or face revolt. Suits me fine though, I was gonna do it anyway." Joker shrugged.
"How the hell are you going to pull that off huh? You think the Batcave is tight? You haven't even seen the Watchtower's security." Nightwing said.
"Don't worry your little head about it. Just make sure everything is prepared for tonight. Bats isn't going to like us striking this soon after all this drama." Joker said.
"Akira. Tell me what you are going to do. That's part of the deal." Nightwing growled.
"No need to become your old man, Dick. It's quite simple when you think about it." Joker said as he walked away.
"Explain it then." Nightwing said.
"We have three teleporters at our disposal. Four if you count Hell, I would think using that would send the wrong message though." Joker smirked.
"That will only solidify you as an enemy Akira. Old man ain't going to like that." Nightwing warned.
"I was already an enemy of his. The moment we blew up his Studio." Joker said.
With that Joker left, to prepare for what would be another long night.
NANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANA
The news reached the other Titans fast. Both sides knew this was an official drawn line in the sand. The Justice League has voted...and the orders have been given. Whoever stays with the Phantom Thieves would be wanted criminals within the next twenty four hours. The official statement to the government would be given at that time. But the orders would be for the to be taken alive...while it was certain the Phantom Thieves would be shot on sight. They all knew that would come next after the announcement.
All across Gotham the Teen Titans considered their options.

Starfire was not impressed by the Justice League's demands, or their rationale. She couldn't believe they would come to the conclusion that they did. Did they not see the footage of their tears...of their begging? That without the captor's existence they would surely be fighting right besides them in the war of justice? She shook her head as tears began to spill. The arrest Wonder Woman...a founder...one of their best warriors for such paranoia?! What cowards! She will personally show them the light, she will show them true hope. By force if necessary...
She crushed her comm with her bare hands. Though she loved the ones she had left behind, she couldn't see any other way.
"Kori? Are you alright?" Ann asked. She looked worried.
Despite them both hiding their identities at first, her and Ann remained friends. Perhaps even becoming closer with all the secrets revealed. Ann did not deserve this fate, none of the Phantom Thieves did.
Starfire sighed softly and looked at her.
"No...I most certainly am not." Starfire said.

Aqualad put on the facade of a fiercely loyal member of what he viewed a radical terrorist. He had gotten the message from the League and took a deep breath before exiting his hiding place. As he worked with the group to aid the homeless and guard the perimeter, he did consider the possible effects arresting the Phantom Thieves would have. Anarky would surely fall with them. The fool didn't know it but, the Thieves were the only reason Batman hadn't taken them down yet. Aqualad had managed to find dozens of secret plans for his rise in power. Bombs, possible hostages, and more. Anarky put on a facade of a caring person with a good cause, but underneath he showed the truth. He wants to burn Gotham to the ground, and put himself in power.
A true revolutionist, and a true Rouge of Batman.
But with him as an inside man, Batman had no reason to engage. His spying leads to inside information, and thus allows prevention. They had to find if the Phantom Thieves are involved in someway to the future bombings. He will follow his orders to the fullest extent of his abilities.
Aqualad was a man who was the opposite of his mentor. Aquaman being the warm, and caring being. A king, but most importantly a father figure to Hyde. But at times his caring got in the way of the bigger picture. Hyde looked at the homeless people and kindly gave them the mediorge but warm soup. He talked kindly to the children from the orphanage. Joey especially as he wouldn't stop talking about his interaction with Skull in particular.
He knew that these children would hate him for what he did, if they ever found out. But it was for the greater good. The League, Batman especially, would make sure to properly take care of the orphanage, and open more homeless shelters. The more stubborn will choose to stay in the rain, and commit the same crimes as Anarky, but with less effect.
Blind followers like Joey, have no knowledge that his leader is a textbook pathological liar. Manipulating the youth of Gothams with promises of change and safety. Aqualad will make sure the children like Joey don't get caught up in the crossfire that is sure to come.
The greater good can seem to be the most evil thing on the planet to a more emotional person. While he knew the Phantom Thieves don't deserve to be locked away, what other choice did they have given the circumstance? The world is more a complex grey to the perceived black and white morality. It was up to him to properly guide citizens through the fogginess of it.
Even if they view him as a in the wrong.

Beast Boy could admit he wasn't the smartest guy. He wasn't the calculating tactician that Red Robin was. He wasn't the fearless leader Nightwing was. He wasn't the strongest or fastest...But really none of that mattered to him.
What mattered to him was helping people. Plain and simple. Doing his best to make the world a better place. Why did it have to be any more complicated than that?
But as always, the world just didn't see it his way. It was rare that it did. Garfield Logan, resident idiot, resident freak… The world always had a way to bring him down. So it was up to him to bring the world up. To make people happy, to laugh, to smile.
The Phantom Thieves were in his mind, the best way to do that. He only could think about all the good they could do for the world. For those who needed help but couldn't admit it. Why were the others always so hesitant to think that? He didn't really get it.
Yeah, he thought about the danger and fear they could bring. That's why he's here! To help guide them, or at least offer a hand. Beast Boy also felt that, like most of the Titans at the beginning, the Thieves were just misunderstood. They try their best despite how the world views them.. Despite the fact that they may never be thanked.
And to a guy who always gets stared at, gawked at for his appearance and power. He understood that. Despite his friendly nature, people flinched when he got too close. Especially at the start.
The rest of the Titans could never really understand. Aside from Raven and Cyborg, Superboy, Miss Martian...maybe Starfire. Two out the five reaching the same conclusion he did. Though thinking about that did bring him down. He hoped he wouldn't have to fight Cy in all of this. He was his best friend, his older brother in everything but blood. Miss Martian was his rock, comforting him when the pressure of being different was just too much. His sister...He would hate to have that torn apart over a slight disagreement.
That's all this had to be right? There's no way the Justice League would hold Wonder Woman. There's no way they would have to storm the freaking Watchtower and free her. She just needs to cool down, and everything will be ok.
….Right?...
Beast Boy's long ears flattened. Worry starting to overtake him, he decides to help himself feel better with all of this by making others feel better. His friends, his only family left...needed him. He couldn't just leave them feeling so down, if it's anything like he's feeling...they needed a good joke.

Oracle was typing away on her massive computer. She needed something to get her mind off of the fight that was sure to come. Trying in vain to concentrate on the Clayface case and finding some linking factor to all the murders besides all of the clay spread on the victims.
She sighed, pinching her brow. She was getting nowhere. Akira politely declined giving her Morgana to watch today, maybe she came off too needy. She kind of was, the thought of venting all of her grief on the cat sounded so pleasing. Her anxiety and concern for her friends were through the roof. She didn't want to fight, no one was picking up their comms, which only worsened her problem.
Everyone besides her, seemed to want to talk. Why did she surround herself with such stubborn and prideful people that never listened to reason?! The Phantom Thieves are Priority A class a least, and everyone is so scared to admit it! Scared to admit that a group of teenagers managed to take control of so much under their nose. They refused to admit that maybe this is exactly what the demon wants. To tear them apart by their own bickering, and use it against them.
Barbara put her hands on her head and tried to calm her nerves. She was tired of all of this. Part of her blamed the Phantom Thieves, coming out of nowhere and breaking apart the family she loved so dearly. Bruce was always stubborn but this takes the cake. There had to be a better way of going about this other than out right threatening the opposing Titans. They should have led them aside to talk...diplomatically like they did last night. She was sure they could see reason.
She pleaded to whatever god above, that they would. Before she was forced to do what was coming. To go after her friends, her found family, in such a way. It broke her heart. She needed a soft, caring animal to snuggle into and cry. It would lick her face, and tears away, and look into her soul with such emotive and caring eyes. As if every purr and meow was trying to say something profound. But...sadly...she couldn't. And she just wasn't close enough to his owner to ask why.

Wonder Girl watched the women who trained her all do various different tasks. The Amazons seemed to have made a lot of progress in terms of their treatment towards men. They seem to be wary, even tense with Joker alone. And he was supposed to be their goddess' new ward. It was leagues forward to what she remembered of the island though. A total an utter contempt for the opposite sex was more common than not. She remembered being taught the long history of the culture and why they got to that point. But she never really adopted it, despite being an honorary Amazon.
But she always held the women in high esteem. To see them finally take action in bringing justice to the world. It made her so happy. Like a dream come true. Donna especially reappearing in her life was a welcome change. While Diana was an unreachable goddess, Donna was the older sister that always looked after her. The stern but loving role model she alway looked up to.
So when the Justice League sent their message to her. Cassandra was baffled and furious at the news of Wonder Woman being arrested. Her hero, her idol, her model of truth and justice, was imprisoned for doing what she believed was right. Cassandra didn't really know whether or not the Phantom Thieves were deserving of all this or not….
What mattered to her though is the fact the two heroes she feels closest to have shown their full backing to the group. And...really that was enough to her to go...Maybe it wasn't the best thinking in terms of morality, it was filled with her bias. She could admit that. But...she just couldn't leave her sister hanging like that.
Last night was the most vulnerable Cassandra had ever seen Donna. The begging, the tears...as if her life depended on them helping the Thieves. How could she say no? How could she turn her back on her...after all Donna has done for her. All that she had given her?
The rest of the Titans were her family, the ones she would fight and die for...But Donna did the most in terms of caring, training...the day she gave the title of Wonder Girl to her...was the best day of her life. And to turn Donna away at her darkest hour...was too cruel to comprehend.
Cassandra will fight, because heroes need her. And what kind of person would she be if she didn't save the people who saved her all those years ago.

Terra wanted a moment alone to just think to herself. But she knew even if she was alone, someone had to be watching her. She knew if not Nightwing, someone of the Titans had to keep watch of her. It frustrated her to no end. Like they could blame her for not trusting them. Beast Boy was the only one that ever showed her any sort of care. And he was always a lost puppy in love, a love that frankly she just didn't return.
She surprised herself last night with her decision. Slade's instructions were unclear in this type of circumstance. She owed the man for training her for control of her powers, but in return she must give secrets to the Teen Titans. Tricking them into friendship, playing the all for fools.
Some days it was easy, the anger at their past actions with her. Leaving her alone with Slade, leaving her to die in that cave with an insane hitman. Their failure to treat her with anything besides caution.
Other days, she knew they were just as young as her, and prone to mistakes. Starfire offered her little hugs that comforted her in her nightmares. Beast Boy having the patience of a saint with her insatiable emotions, and distant attitude. She didn't deserve it, she was a bad person...Everysingle thing Slade said was true. But when she thought about it, she was filled with guilt.
The choice to quit was a hard one. Slade would easily kill her if he found out she betrayed him. No Titan would or could protect her. The fact Nightwing joined was comforting, knowing Slade would ultimately go after him first with all their bad blood. And there was a chance...a shot in the dark….that the Phantom Thieves could target Slade, if she could ever get the courage to bring it up with them….alone. She was a bad person, one the Titans shouldn't ever trust again. But with the Phantom Thieves came the opportunity...to prove that she can be trusted...and if they fail...then she'll...have no choice but betray them all.
"I hear the whispers of those fools. Tell me are they true?" Crow appeared out of nowhere, scaring her.
"AHH! Jesus! Don't sneak up on me like that." Terra gasped.
Crow put a gun to her head in response.
"Answer me. This Slade was it? Are you working for him?" Crow demanded.
"No." Terra said.
"No wonder they don't trust you. You can't lie to save your life." Crow growled.
"I don't work for Slade." Terra said.
"I can see that emotion in your eyes girl. The inner rage, the guilt, regret, confusion...You are hiding something. And I for one don't take any chances. Talk. Now." Crow hissed.
"I have nothing to say. Don't believe me, kill me." Terra challenged.
"Hmph...you try so hard don't you? To hold that mask on your face...but I see right through you. Desperation. A child trying in vain to get control." Crow scoffed.
"Do it. Kill me. You already shot me once. Finish it." Terra practically demanded.
"You'd love that wouldn't you? An out. I won't give to you. Tell me who Slade is, everything. Or I'll convince Joker to have you walk away." Crow threatened.
"I've seen your little fights with your boyfriend. The one thing clear is that you are the bottom." Terra smirked.
"Hmph. Such goading is beneath me. It only strengthens the suspicion of you. Talk or walk. I won't say it again." Crow said.
"The Titans wouldn't let me walk even if I wanted to. I choose this side out of convenience, and the idodic notion that you all would be different. That you all would be better." Terra scoffed at herself for believing it for even a second.
"Oh, I'll force their hands. I will not allow myself to be killed here just because of a dumb girl's petty bullshit." Crow hissed.
"Slade won't kill you unless hired to do so. His only goal is the Titan's." Terra said.
"Bullshit. A hitman would kill anything that gets in the way of their target. And I'm speaking from experience." Crow said.
"Then it really is true. You really are a killer." Terra gasped.
"Some innocent, some less so. It never mattered. All that mattered was the goal." Crow said.
"And what was that goal?" Terra asked.
"None of your concern. This Slade however...most certainly is...let me guess. You want us to change him...so you never have to live in fear again. Is that close?" Crow asked judgmentally.
"Will you? Could you?" Terra asked.
"Why don't you ask the green one. The one that clings like a scared child would a mother?" Crow scoffed.
"He'd kill him. He'd kill them all. It's only a matter of time until…" Terra stopped herself.
"Until what?! You'd rather throw us to be slaughtered is that it?!" Crow accused.
"NO! The only way to defeat him is your method. The change of heart. I'm sure he has distorted desires! And I figured it would be easier than facing him head on." Terra said.
"You assume too much. The subconscious mind is just as dangerous as the real world. If this Slade views himself as an unstoppable force, he will project himself as such. What I need is intel, cracks to properly strike. That is if you truly want him to fall. Or are you doing all of this to eventually betray us?" Crow hissed.
"I have no orders regarding your group...at the current moment." Terra said.
"That is just so comforting. No wonder you are not trusted." Crow rolled his eyes.
"And you are?! I see how your friends look at you!" Terra yelled.
"Unlike you. I don't care that they don't trust me. I actually couldn't care less. They don't need to trust me, or like me. But circumstances force my hand to work with them. What makes you so fast to be conflicted, hm? Could it be out of your depth, and don't know which side to choose? I wonder…" Crow said.
"FUCK YOU ASSHOLE! YOU DON'T KNOW ME!" Terra hissed.
"And I don't want to. All I want is intel on this Slade, and I'll be gone. You are the one making things so difficult." Crow hissed.
Terra was furious. This bastard doesn't care about anything, or anyone besides himself! He admitted basically point blank that he doesn't care that she died. What a twisted shit! But that honestly eliminated any tension of betrayal or friendship with her. He didn't trust her, but he didn't bother to fake his way and trick her...like Slade did.
"Fine...I'll tell you...what you want to know. But this better work. I...I don't want to betray them...but I also...don't want to die." Terra trembled in fear, as tears began to fall.
"Finally. Talk." Crow ordered.

Batgirl activated the Queen projection robot. The imitation of the girl appeared before her. She knew she shouldn't take out her anger on them but...she just needed to hit something. And she needed the practice.
Despite her denial of anger...she was truly furious. And she needed to vent.
How dare this group show up and split apart the only friends she had. Cassandra traded blows with the robot girl with furiosity. She kept defeating it over and over and over. Until she decided to up the level of danger. This fake didn't make her feel powerless, didn't make her slow to a grinding halt.
All her life Cass has been trained...to be an emotionless weapon. The cold harsh blizzards of Ra's dojo came back to her. The memories all coming back to her in painful clarity. Underneath the mask tears started to flow. She kept beating this damn robot. Why couldn't she defeat the one in real life?!
Batgirl escaped thatterrible place, the place that despite all her training they always called her a weak and stupid girl. The years they chased her, mocking her. Abusing her. It all hurts so much. The pain...the tears...the dreadful loneliness. Knowing all those words said were true. She was worthless outside of combat. A girl that is only good with one thing.
She knew it all to be true...but then her Sensi came along. He offered her a home away...a way from all the violence, away from all the fear. But she didn't want that. She wanted to embrace it, overcome it, dominate it! He only gave her the means to do so as well.
All that care, the gentle hand guiding her to be better...and she was letting him down. Letting all of the Titans down! She knew she was! The only thing she was good at...she was failing in! ALL BECAUSE OF THEM! ?AND IT ALL STARTED WITH HER!
Batgirl started to tear off the limbs of the robot, allowing herself to let loose. It was only a robot...she didn't want to do it in real life...not at all…

Superboy walked through the park to clear his head. Despite his withdrawn nature he was really emotive in small ways. At least that's what Miss Martian said. He should be with her instead of sulking. But their covers didn't really allow for them to interact outside of the meetings. He wondered if they could even use their covers anymore. Surely they had to be compromised by now. But Aqualad went in and reported back just fine. What are Dick and the others playing at?
His left eye twitched in frustration, his fists clenched a bit harder. Why did it have to come to this? Part of him hoped that Superman would settle things before they got too out of hand. But Superman just...didn't come through. Conner knew that Superman was always as human as anyone else, but he couldn't help but look up to. Despite all the hardships he went through to finally form a relationship with the hero.
He adjusted his coat a thing feeling uncomfortable all of a sudden. He supposed in the end he agreed with the viewpoint that was met with the League. The Phantom Thieves were far too dangerous to just walk around freely. But it was with that fact he related to them in a way. Kids with no control over their lives, forced to be watched over until their trust can be gained.
Conner didn't ask to be made in a lab. He didn't ask to be a mix of genetics between Superman and Lex Luthor. He didn't ask to be a weapon, meant to be controlled by a corrupt billionaire. But that's the difference between him and the Thieves. He chose to free those girls back at the lab, despite the fact he had nothing to gain from it. He chose to stop using the drugs Luthor gave him in return for intel. He chose to be better and more like his hero, with his own twist.
The powers aren't what make a hero, it's their actions. And from the Phantom Thieves actions he could tell despite their good nature, and the benefits they could bring to the world...they were weak. They were corruptible, they were pawns meant to be sacrificed. They haven't made any moves to his knowledge to take back control of their lives.
Then again, maybe they did...he didn't know. They said they did but Conner needed more than just their word. And he needed more than the current information to leave the only family he ever had.
Joker, and maybe Crow would not allow themselves to be controlled like this without doing something by now. It's that inaction that led to his judge of character.
The Phantom Thieves despite all their barking, had little bite. At least against their captor. They could blow the whole burn apart, but still be slaves to a higher force. And that is why he chose to stop them.
Conner's left eye twitched again at what that would make him do. He knew the Titans that joined weren't the smartest of the group, at least most of them. He still couldn't believe Wally just flipped a damn coin. Then again...not the smartest.
But Raven….how did they manage that? They weren't close...two distant and cold people who respected each other from a distance. All the screams of terror he heard in the night, about her father...and she chose to join the group who works with him….then again...he never got too close to her.
Donna...Nightwing? Both led the group at one point or another over the years...Both leaders chose to quit. He never saw Donna so passionate about something, she always kept her cool. But then again, he wasn't part of a culture that decided out of nowhere to aid a group. He never could understand that. All Kryptonians were very touchy with revealing his culture with him, his only real connecting culture was the League...the Titans.
Dick….Conner couldn't wrap his head around that one. The thought made his head hurt. Dick always was more critical of Batman out of all of the former sidekicks. Challenging and ranting about how his father figure went about things the wrong way. Maybe that was it...then again from how he saw Dick pull Star aside for a little chat? Nah...she said something to convince him….and Dick is wrapped around that girl's finger.
Conner shook his head. Light drops of rain were starting to fall on him. He ignored them and kept walking. There are a lot of variables he couldn't wrap his head around, a lot of history and drama coming to the surface. In the end...Conner cared about all the Titans. The ones that left and the ones that didn't. He didn't, couldn't judge them for not having the same perspective as he did. But...orders were orders….
People smarter than him have discussed at length the path to take...Conner wasn't a blind follower or anything...but if he had too… He'll take his friends, his family in...if only to talk things through and help them how they did him.
They are misguided...that's all.

Kid Flash never felt so antsy. He didn't think it would get this real so fast. He thought his uncle would take care of things and it would all be alright. In Wally's worry he needed a run to calm the nerves. He could be back in Gotham within minutes, Dick let him have time for him to properly think.
He was an idiot! To think a heat of a moment thing would lead to this much drama. They only left Tim's apartment a couple of hours ago. How did everything get out of control so fast?! Within a day he could not be a part of the Titan team?! The hell is the League thinking?!
Wally took a couple deep breaths, running a hand through his hair. This had to be a joke right?! He had to be dreaming!
"I'd figure you'd be here." Someone said behind him.
"Ah! Oh, U-uncle Barry." Wally said nervously to Flash.
"Heard the news right? Hawkgirl probably shouldn't have given the word. It came off a bit harsh." Flash said.
"So it's true?! Wonder Woman is in custody?! I won't be a member of the Titans I Don't-"
"Yeah...it's getting heavy up there." Flash sighed.
"What happened?! There's no way you guys would do this! Wonder Woman is a founding member!" Wally yelled.
"I know, I know... But it's just how things...panned out. It's for the...greater good." Flash tried.
"Oh come on! That's bull and you know it! You can't even say it with a straight face!" Wally yelled.
"I...we have to Wally. At least until the demon is defeated. What else is there to do?" Flash asked.
"I DON'T KNOW SOMETHING! I didn't expect you all to just roll over to Batman's wishes!" Wally roared.
"That's not how it went down. Both sides were heard and...the decision was made by vote." Flash explained.
"Who did you vote for?" Wally asked.
"Wally I-"
"Tell me you said no. Tell me right now you wouldn't allow them to do this to us. To my family!" Wally demanded.
"I can explain I-"
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" Wally roared furious.
"They won't really decommission you guys. I swear-"
"A single disagreement. A single thought out of line...and you all threaten to get rid of us?! Is that how much we are worth to you?! After all we've been through together?!" Wally screamed tears streaming down his face.
"NO! Of course we care about you all! I'll make sure Batman doesn't do anything out of line!" Flash argued.
"Yeah right! You're all too scared of him. The guy who has literally no powers! AND YOU'RE SCARED OF HIM! YOU ALL LET HIM HAVE FREE REIN OVER A CITY THAT CLEARLY NEEDS MORE HELP THAN IT IS GIVEN!" Kid Flash yelled.
"I'm not scared of him! I simply respect his thinking and-"
"BULL! SHIT!" Kid Flash started to run away at highspeeds. Flash was quick to follow.
"Wally please! Let me explain and I'm sure you'll understand! Come home! Your mother will be worried if you don't come home!" Flash yelled.
"Tell her I'm fighting for good! Unlike a certain League who claims they do! I can't believe I made this choice by a fucking flip of a coin. I really am an idiot,.. For not being the first to sign up!" Wally yelled back.
"What?! You let a flip of a coin be the deciding factor for such a thing?! ARE YOU NUT?!" Flash asked.
"Yeah, because I really couldn't decide which way to go! But know I see things clearly! I now know the League doesn't give a shit about me unless I follow orders like an obedient dog! Well FUCK THAT I QUIT!" Wally roared as he picked up speed.
"WALLY WAIT!" Flash called out trying to catch up with him.
"Flash, let him go. He made his choice." Batman called in.
"Shut up Bruce! LEt me handle this!" Flash spat.
"You know he's stubborn. Just as stubborn as you. Give him time, he'll see reason eventually." Batman said.
"What am I going to tell Mary? I just made her son run away from home…" Flash said, desperate.
"You'll tell the truth. That he got caught up with a known terrorist group." Batman said.
"You're just trying to get me killed aren't you?" Flash hissed
"Show her the file. She'll understand then." Batman said.
"Wally...god...I'm so sorry." Flash said. He knew his nephew wouldn't listen to him now. He could catch up with him but really...what would that accomplish? Wally would just get up and start running again. Just like he would when he was determined about something at that age.
Flash came to a stop. How did everything fall apart so fast. He should have made Batman arrest Joker all the back at the studios...then this would have never happened.
Flash thought about it for a few minutes...going all the back to that day. He could do so….he has time traveled before. But that would lead to consequences he couldn't possibly fathom. The timelines were already a mess from his previous attempts from past end of world scenarios.
And he recalled what happened the last time he went back in time for personal gain. It was too much of a risk. Unless forced to do so, he would see this through. He promised himself he wouldn't run away again.

Miss Martian sat in the break room, nursing a cup of coffee. It was really good. She'll have to ask where Gordon got it from. Started with an L if she remembered correctly, something...French?
But even this coffee didn't calm her nerves. The police force she was tasked with spying on weren't much better. Anxiety and dread filled the offices and Megan couldn't tell if it was because of the PhantoM Thieves...or if it was just always like this.
Batman has operated since before she even came to this world. Surely the town is better off now than it was before. But the progress of justice was always a slow and complex one. It always was. The Thieves especially were like a minefield she had to navigate.
She didn't regret her choice. She stuck by it. And that's really what bothered her. If they weren't being held captive by some all powerful demon...would she have joined the others? Maybe...she wasn't sure.
Conner, while reluctant to fight their friends was going to stay...while she would let her relationship get in the way of what she felt was right...she was kind of glad he chose to stay...Really glad actually.
When you bear everything for someone to see, it's hard to just let them go...which is her worst fear of what's to come...Wally...the idiot decided to quit before the timer was even up. Something must have happened to solidify his random choice. She knew he would have come back otherwise. He had a home, family, and a life outside of all this. The news was shocking…
Beast Boy, Starfire? Had a chance to come back if handled correctly she felt. She hoped Beast Boy came back especially, he quickly became her little green brother as he called it. Immediately he won her over...she...already missed him.
But she knew with something like this he wouldn't have the best judgement. He was a simple boy, the heart of the group. She knew he saw the group's plight and just had to help. It was in his nature.
Starfire was much of the same…
And now they threatened to revoke their titles as Titans. What an absurd decision. Truly that is just a fear tactic...and even then going too far. What happened to discussion? To proper discourse? Megan was disgusted at the discussion regarding her family. She'll have a proper word when this all calms down. Surely the League will simmer before the timer runs out. They had to…
And then...they'll have to arrest the Phantom Thieves. She's sure they have a good heart. But a good heart doesn't change the circumstances of their captivity. Whoever controls them can't be allowed to just do whatever he wants. Zatanna's death was proof of that. A clear and valid example of threatening the League and their power. It cannot be allowed. Or else their enemies will take their weakness to heart.
Megan sighed. She and Conner would fix this. She knew the rest would be too bitter or cold to take the first step. She'll make sure her friends are reinstated if it comes down to it. Dick only joined because of Star, Raven only joined because of Donna. A proper discussion was all that was needed.
Donna will be stubborn, especially with how Wonder Woman is being treated...but she'll...she'll come around.
They had too...they had to get back together.

Donna sharpened a sword with her sword, needing something to take her mind off the current state of things. Diana warned her...and now because of her, she was now arrested by the very people who called her a friend. She huffed at that, she would burn that little satellite to the ground to free her sister. Luckily, before she could even demand such, before she could even yell and beg...Joker already came to her...to her sisters with a plan. A plan that would free her sister. For the last few months spent with this group they have proven themselves to her in spades. She almost cried at their willingness to go out of their way for someone they barely knew. She knew what the consequences would be when they performed such a plan. She also would be furious if they did not go to such lengths. She knew her sisters agreed. The entire church was filled with the strongest women, all ready to fight. In a few short months, the Amazons went from a culture that hated men with a fierce vengeance, to one that begrudgingly respected the one man their goddess Athena loved so dearly.
All these years of hatred and inaction. Undone by a teenager. She knew that the Amazons would forever tell his tale for mileena. Donna knew that depending on the results of their breakout, the tale would defer between a foolish man who was a martyr...or a messiah that saved their princess. At least she knew that was going to be the case with Queen Hipolyta. She would probably offer her own body in return for this mission's success. With or without the years of exile, Diana was the best of them all. A shining beacon of hope and change, no matter how foolish….
Donna also could stomach the ulterior motives behind Diana's rescue. A founder of the Justice League that had to be freed to speak to the people would send a massive message. The break in on the Watchtower alone would earn respect and fear of all on the planet, good or bad.
You better know what you're getting into Akira. Play this wrong and there will be nowhere to hide from me.
Antiope walked up to her, her stern face showing distaste from the current circumstances.
"General?" Donna asked.
"The troops are getting testy. I gave them all the current news. They want blood. The Justice League's blood. I'm on to agree with them." Antiope hissed.
"Fear not, with Joker's plan Diana will be freed." Donna said.
"You and I both know that won't be enough. We have little supplies and ammo. Reinforcements won't come until next week." Antiope said.
"Talked to the Queen have you?" Donna asked.
"Yes. A new goddess has risen. Demeter has also joined with Athena. With that Hippolyta has entered a rather humbled state. More praising of the gods than I've ever seen her. She is sending massive numbers. Only enough to properly protect Thymescria will remain. Thousands of our sisters are coming and we have nowhere to put them." Antiope said.
"We will figure something out. The numbers will help greatly with the war that is sure to come." Donna said.
"Not only that sister...The Amazons of Bana-Mighdall will also contribute. The City of Women, while reluctant, was more than willing to contribute with the presence of Demeter. I suppose it's due to them being a city state in Egypt, they praise the goddess of the harvest with more vigor." Antiope said.
"How many? In total I mean…" Donna asked.
"In total? Four thousand of our sisters will join the fight. I told Joker this as well...He seemed...unaffected." Antiope said.
"The supplies and food alone…" Donna sighed.
"Will be covered apparently. The Trickster mentioned it will not be an issue. Something called Mass Itemization. Those boxes my troops are handling are filled with food, armor, and supplies. We need only a place to rest now. I'm starting to really believe now...that...never mind." Antiope shook her head as she watched the troops prepare.
Donna knew Antiope was having trouble processing all of this. Who wouldn't? But it's the way things are. Tonight will be the nights the Phantom Thieves show their true power. Tonight is the night true justice will be revealed. Tonight is the night Batman learns to never mess with Wonder Woman and her people.
"ATTENTION!" Phillipus commanded and all the Amazons saluted.
"At ease." Joker said as he walked to Donna.
Donna stood straight giving him the strongest stern look she could muster. She tried to be angry at him...for what happened to Diana...but she just couldn't...especially with what he said next.
"Tell me everything about the Watchtower. Layout, schedules, cameras, everything." Joker said.
Donna knew what it was for...she could...no...no...she had to keep this professional.

Damien stepped out of the limo.
"Master Damien are you sure you wish to go I-"
Damian slammed the car door closed before Alfred could finish his sentence.
He stormed up to the tall, fancy building filled with people gossiping and trying to suck up to him. He hated them all. He hated this place so much.
He was a trained assassin, he could kill any of these weaklings in a second. But he didn't, because he respected his father's teachings too much. He hated to go here...but it was less terrible than dealing with the butler's constant nagging. Constantly trying to coddle him like an infant, trying to talk to him about what happened with his mother…
Father let him deal with that, while he did the more important thing. Avenging her….
Though today started with constant annoyances from Alfred, Damien smirked at the news the League gave. All those who continued to betray the League would be treated as such….traitors. In his opinion it didn't go far enough. Father needs to grow a pair and finally admit the Phantom Thieves are too dangerous to be kept alive.
Damien prayed for it to be him who did it. Dreamt of it last night. Nothing would bring him more satisfaction than watching those wannabes life leave their eyes. The only thing stopping him was Father. With his moral grandstanding, need to be held in high regard.
He respected his father greatly, more than any man on Earth. But he just couldn't agree with just locking these bastards up. They are the rulers of hell, the one who brainwashed Wonder Woman. The ones who did the same and tormented his mother…
Don't cry you infant! What would she say?!
Damian forced the emotions down, doing the breathing exercises his father taught. They weren't working as much as he hoped. The anger begging to be released on something, anything…
He coldly looked upon the simpletons of his classmates. All blurting out nonsense that didn't matter, will never matter. No one would miss them for long. It would be soooo easy to just.
Patience Damien, to kill is to lower yourself on their level.
His father's voice rang through his head. Fine...it would be a waste of energy. And he would never defame his father's legacy. He never could take the mantle if he did.
The Phantom Thieves will fall. Their bones will be ash, their screams forever locked away in confinement. If he couldn't kill them, he'll work to do everything but. Their little magic show will be burned to the ground. Every associate of an ally is imprisoned forever. Every supporter will be mocked and belittled. History will look at the Phantom Thieves as nothing more than a terrorist group that achieved nothing. A footnote of a footnote in the books.
Damian won't be satisfied otherwise.

Blood Storm
Kingdom of Hell
Raven was shaking as the portal opened and Joker, Mona, and Donna went in. A group of Amazons surrounded them in their Phantom Star uniform. If anyone asked, she escaped and was recaptured. She never thought she would willingly step into this place...without the means to fight it into submission that is…
"You sure you want to do this? You can go back at any time." Mona said.
Raven shook her head. While she was used to oddities, Mona's meta form was one to get used to. But he was nice, if not a bit too much of a guy trying to suck up to all the girls around him. Especially the blonde ones. She put all that aside and tried to calm herself. Donna offers a hand on her shoulder in comfort.
"It's ok. I promise it's ok." She said softly.
Raven didn't respond. She was too scared too.
The large cityscape overlooked her from the great temple. Red puddles stained the ground, uncertainty filled her whether it was from the rain or the violence that is common occurrence.
"THE DEMON LORD'S WARD IS HERE!" A guard bellowed.
A giant fly approached the group. It flicked its head in an almost friendly way.
"Trickster~ What do we owe the pleasure?" The fly buzzed.
"Beelzebub. How was your little mission?" Joker asked.
"Oh~ most fruitful my lord. Thousands are now at my beck and call. Those under my command would not dare defy it. The damned know that disobedience of command is met with endless...troubles~." Beelzebub tried.
"It's one of yours isn't it?" Donna asked bluntly in Joker's ear. The giant fly leading them to the Demon Lord.
"Shh...needed more than just a ruler to run the armies." Joker shushed.
"Do I want to know what happened to the original? Ya know the one that would never help you?" Donna asked, sternly faced.
"I think you already put two and two together." Joker whispered.
"Akira…" Donna growled.
"You want Hell to stay under control. This was the easiest way to do it." Joker said.
"The easiest way is rarely the best way Akira. You've had him killed didn't you?" Donna hissed.
"Yes. I killed a literal general of Hell. I'm sure I'll stay awake at night for the rest of my life for that action." Joker said.
"If the Justice League finds this out, and they will-"
"Donna. With what's coming this is nothing. We're already terrorists, we're already practically public enemy number one to most circles. What's this added on to that? I say fuck it. I'm tired of proving myself to them on their terms. I'm proving myself better." Joker said.
"Watch it with that Joker. Most villains start off with that mindset. I won't hesitate to take you down if suddenly all the power goes to your head." Donna threatened.
"I wouldn't have it any other way." Joker smirked.
Raven and Mona were having their own conversation while they followed the enormous fly.
"If it makes you feel any better, me and my friends never predicted to suddenly be in charge of a literal city of the damned. I can only imagine how much bravery it would take to do this. I know I would be hesitant." Mona said.
"Hmmm...I always neglect to think about how you guys aren't from this world. What was it like?" Raven asked, eager to keep her mind off the current surroundings.
"Well...a lot really...no heroes, no literal Hell or Heaven...at least to my knowledge. The only demons are personas and shadows. The things we fight with and battle when we change distortions." Mona said.
"A whole world with superheroes, without villains too...It's really hard to imagine. Maybe because my whole life has revolved around the two. So if...sorry when this all blows over...will you go back?" Raven asked.
"Who knows? Everything I ever cared about was transported with me here. My friends, my family, everything I've been created to protect and guide. It would really be up to them to decide. And I know some have more to back than others. And with our luck...it probably won't be an option anyway." Mona said.
"I see…" Raven said not knowing where to take the conversation.
"Aw come on...all that and you have no questions? I'm a great story teller. Lady Ann says so!" Mona whined.
"ALL KNEEL BEFORE THE GREAT DEMON LORD SATANAEL!" A voice boomed.
Raven was trembling. She knew that voice she knew that voice very well...Trigon…
Joker, Donna, and Mona did as instructed. If nothing else to build upon the facade they had constructed in the large hellscape. Billions, if not trillions of souls have already heard of the great Satanael's return, having brought with him a ward that will usher in a new age for demons. It was up to Joker and his friends to play the part in front of the guards. Beelzeebub with his maliciousness has managed in his short release to up the fear factor in a more close and personal way for the soldiers. But still it wouldn't hurt for themselves to help spread tales of terror about the Demon Lord and the one they called "The Trickster''.
Satanael sat upon his throne. The one Trigon sat upon long since discarded for his own personal preferences. It was less filled with gore and bones that Raven recalled her father having. It wasn't flashy or full of gold either. It was...plain in a way...almost to convey humbleness in its wooden structure and cushion for seating and back support. Intricate in the craftsmanship but...only as much as needed to show his was above all other damned souls.
"Leave us." The Lord rumbled his deep tone.
All the guards slowly funneled out. Trigon glaring at his daughter, and then the Demon Lord.
"You didn't kill her...What is your aim with this nonsense?" Trigon growled.
"My aim is above your place, boy. Now leave, before I lose my patience." Satanael boomed, glaring a hole into the past king.
Trigon unleashed a deep guttural growl, but complied. He would have his time again, whatever this was would surely fail. He would use that to his advantage and take back the throne by force. The Demon Lord for all his strength in combat, is weak with his heart. He'll make sure to stab through it while he sleeps when the time is right.
Beelzebub closed the doors after the giant demon left. He was now ranked above Trigon as per degree of Satanael.
"Trickster...what news do you bring?" Satanael asked.
Raven stood awkwardly as the two discussed the strike on the Watchtower. She knew it was bad, that the effects of such a strike would have massive consequences if she allowed it to happen. But with all the limits Joker put on it comforted her somewhat. Not one person is allowed to die, the facility will stand afterwards to ensure that fights will only be permitted if necessary.
The demon troops will distract by attacking the outside of the station, while the Amazons led by Donna herself will lead the strike inside. Their main objective...to free Wonder Woman.
Joker will be there to distract Batman, assisted by any members of the Titans who chose to stay with them. They will distract the rest of the members that happen to be there at the time.
It was reckless, chaotic, CRAZY! What other words could possibly fit better to describe the group itself. Raven crossed her arms and took a deep breath for what's to come.
Satanael was just as polite and friendly with her as he was in his chambers. Offering the same deal he did before...She couldn't believe it.
She couldn't believe she was here...choosing to help. But if she couldn't trust Donna...the one who practically raised her over the years in her mother's absence. The one who molded her into the woman, and hero she was today…The sister she sought for comfort and protection when all else fails…
Who could you trust?

Tim's Temporary Apartment

Tim stood in the middle of his massive construction of strings and corkboard. With all this chaos he chose to go over every variable. To look over every possibility.
Bruce was an idiot for locking Diana up. He could admit that. What are the others supposed to feel and do when they are backed into a corner?
Something unpredictable that's what.
Wally has already gone full on rebel. Whatever his uncle said to him did not help matters at all. To think he figured Wally would come back once things got too hot. Anything is on the table at the moment.
He hated to do it, and Tim pulled out all the most classified intel on all of the Titan members. Much like the Doom portocal, every Titan must be evaluated for weaknesses in combat. Various plans to take down his friends...his family…
Dick was originally at the head of it...but as the years went on he got more and more disgusted at the notion of thinking about how to permanently incapacitate his teammates should they turn. Tim knew Bruce was right in being precarious. Every member of the League could be considered a world ender threat. His team could also be considered as such.
Tim won't like doing it...but with how things are going….
He may have to...

Nightwing returned to overlooking the town he grew up in. Bruce has finally done something to finally cause him to consider he had truly lost rationality. He understood the risks...Dick's inner thoughts of his father's lessons of morality and justice being a constant noise in his head. He supposed he understood where his mentor was coming from, he had thought through the many variables and risks that could come if the Phantom Thieves turn.
But like Star said...he couldn't just let them suffer like this. It went against everything he believed in. Bruce bashed those very morals into his head for years. How could he not see where he was coming from?
His thoughts were interrupted when Wally appeared behind him.
"Hey. Heard ya quit." Nightwing said.
"Bastards still think we're toddlers Dick. Like we can't make any decisions without being hand held. Fuck them." Wally spat.
"So you gonna help the Thieves out then?" Dick asked.
"I guess. What about you though? I know you've been working for years just to get recognized by them." Wally said.
"With you and Wonder Woman gone...It doesn't feel the same. Besides...Joker may be an unknown….but I rather try again on my own terms with them than waste any more time at the League. Bats is my father...my teacher...but that doesn't mean he can't ever be wrong. All this...is on him. And I hope when he looks in the eye on the opposite side...he'll feel that punch in the gut of emotion. Because he can claim brainwashing, blackmail...whatever the fuck he wants. But, me...you, all of us there...that'll hit hard." Dick said.
"I'm counting on it." Wally crossed his arms.
The door behind the two opened, revealing Wonder Girl.
"Hey...um Joker's calling us all to discuss where we all stand. Guy has been all over the place today getting things set up. Are you both coming?" Wonder Girl asked.
"Yeah….I guess we are." Nightwing said, while Kid Flash crossed his arms.
"Come on then." Wonder Girl said.
NANANANANANANANANANANANANANA
When Dick entered the church, he saw a crowded but orderly group. Most of which were women. He laughed a bit at that. Joker practically has a whole culture of the world's strongest women treating him as king. With Gotham's most known women Rouges joining in for one reason or another.
Selina was over by Panther, both talking about how they handled whips and Selina especially going over how to swing around with them. Panther was soaking it all up with stars in her eyes. He never saw Selina so...happy...Smiling up a storm with the girl, he knew that without whatever they did Selina would hate her...despite her...He read the more classified files of what happened with her and Bruce. The girl he couldn't save all those years ago. It's funny how all this time spent trying to reform her and help her was met with the same distaste...and then they came along and fixed it...just like that.
White Rabbit stood close to Crow constantly teasing him for her own amusement. He wondered if they knew all that she was hiding under that mask. He wondered the same if she knew all about them. Jaina never cared much about any side, getting her money, and especially thrills in where she could. But he saw the way she tried to get closer to Crow. Only Crow. She never gets that clingy to one person….She was either losing her touch or...nah...that would be stupid…
Taila stood in the corner stoic as ever, testing the tip of her sword, drawing a bit of blood from its razor edge. After all the years spent fighting her and Ra's...it was weird not having to defend against that sword...All the women around her stood at attention. League of Assassin members were always cult like in their loyalty. Noir was asking her where she had gotten more members. She smiled a fake smile….
"They came with our new homes darling. Fear not, I didn't go against my Master's orders." Taila said.
Her orders...Joker must have explicitly said to her not to kill under his rule. But that just meant she got creative in her persuasion. It takes a lot to just drop a lifetime of loyalty to something. Dick figured it helped that she was the one who trained most of them and created a closer bound to her than to Ra's. Whatever place she gave them...he hoped it would cause Ra's anger. They had too much to worry about as it was.
But with one hundred Amazons, fifty assassins...god knows how many demons. Dick wondered for a moment whether this was the right choice to make. Every other person in this room was a part of a group he had fought at one point or another.
He then saw all of the Titans who chose to come with him...Donna, Beast Boy, Cassandra, Raven...even Wally and Star...his two closest friends. He knew he made the right call.
"Everyone…" Joker said, catching the attention of all in the church.
"I thank you all for being here...first off I'd like to give an out. A chance to walk away and go back to whatever you have out there. After we do this...there will be no going back." Joker said.
The room was quiet for a long while. Nightwing took a glance at Terra, all by her lonesome with only Beast Boy by her. Even she did not back down...He wondered what her game was...if Slade sent her here to observe the Thieves...then again with all of the people who will protect them...why would he take the chance.
"Ok...so let's go over it one more time…" Joker said.
NANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANANA
Nightwing clenched his fists as he heard then heard the whole plan...were they nuts?! Tonight? Hours after gaining new troops?!
He saw Constantine take a long swig of his flask. Even he was having so issues with it...but Nightwing and he...couldn't think of any better plan…
An attack on the Watchtower on this level would...cement them all as terrorists! The world would reel at the gall they had to attack Earth's heros! But...the mission wasn't for any vengeance of the decision the League came to...no...it was all for one person…
Wonder Woman….
Starfire took Nightwing's hand, he looked at her…and saw her determination.
He sighed...not needing any convincing...he knew Wonder Woman\ 's involvement would bring massive support to the Thieves and a massive challenge to the League.
Of course a founder on their side would be of massive influence.
He just wondered if they could pull it off….

Cyborg looked at the prisoner sitting in the meta containment cell.
Wonder Woman stared back with intense glare, as if looking in his soul.
"Did you wish for this Victor?" Wonder Woman asked simply.
"I...no...I never did think-"
"You know...I was the one who actually decided the vote of you becoming a member of the League. Was it everything you hoped for? Has your quest for justice been sated?" Wonder Woman spat.
"Wonder Woman...I didn't want this. I just-"
"Leave him alone Diana. He made the right decision." Batman walked up to the cell.
"Oh, as long as it's your opinion it's the right decision is it? What a joke." Diana hissed.
"Tell me where they are." Batman demanded.
"How far are you willing to go for this Bruce? How much suffering do the children need to go through before you'd give the all clear? Do you think the demon will just let them go...just roll over and not set an example of them?" Diana asked.
"They're suffering will only end when the demon is defeated and incapictated. With your line of thinking you would only prolong it. With you and the Titans on their side...you think he wouldn't take advantage of that?" Batman challenged.
"You are stubborn as a mule. The only way to go about this is to look for loopholes in the game. That would only necessitate not involving you. All else is fair game...but you are too much of a controller to allow such. You are selfish...and disgusting." Wonder Woman said.
"I don't negotiate with terrorists. I don't negotiate with warlords, and I most certainly won't play whatever game the demon wants to play. That much is a promise." Batman hissed.
"Then you give exactly what he wants. You bring war upon the city you swore to protect. A war easily avoided." Diana said.
"Maybe. But it is a war I will win." Batman said coldly.
Diana did nothing but chuckle at that notion. Her entire people, the Kingdom of Hell...and half of the Titans..all going against him now.
"You are a madman. Your fear rules you. You let the darkness of our past rule over your decisions like an emotional child. And yet you claim it is all for the greater good. You are truly as insane as the villains you fight. As much as the people you lock away in that asylum of yours." Diana said.
"I'm a man who wears a bat costume, Diana. I can admit I'm not with a right mind. But that doesn't mean you are correct about all this. You let your people's aims take precedent over the world at large. For that I think we can both admit we are in the wrong." Batman walked away to leave her to stew for a bit.
Cyborg long ago made himself scarce for the discussion they had.
"Always has to have the last word." Diana muttered.
She sat in the position she had. Arms crossed, legs crossed, glaring out the wall of the meta container. Anyone who passed would get a fierce judgement with a simple look.
Diana, would set herself as an example of what happens when you dare oppose the Dark Knight. And she will make certain to clarify how bad that is.
The Phantom Thieves will do much of the same…
The Watchtower...will be sieged…
Bat-mite couldn't contain his excitement...Phase two was going just as planned…
