AN: The following will be an all around the world reaction to the Phantom Thieves' broadcast and/or Martian Manhunter's call. It was supposed to be a simple bonus, ya know like an omake kind of thing. But the sheer lengths and pov shifts needed for this was too much. As soon as I think I'm done, I remember I have to address any other point of view.

But hey, I think it's important to cover just how crazy the world becomes when the Justice League is questioned. And what new lengths the world at large (well like 70% of this is still in Gotham) will go to.

So hope you like this kind of intermission.

FEEDBACK:

Gamelover41592: owo

IskekaiFanBoi: That punch held a lot of held back emotion for sure. Joker needed that release of utter venom at Bruce. The Dark Knight kind of deserves it at this point too. Also lmao way to burn Supes, he's doing his best. Leave my puppy boy scout alone XD.

Bananarock509: I actually was asked about Mona getting a Hope/Will Lantern ring, it's interesting but I honestly think it would be too Op for the group as a whole. Idk maybe as an endgame kinda thing.

Does a multiverse tarot card even exist? I mean I have a plan for taking down Batmite, but if such a card exists it would be interesting to write about.

Also yeah, the Chains of Fate showed up again, because he literally is a prisoner of fate, and to Bat-mite. If he breaks them again remains to be seen.

Faightan Gaims: Nope they sure are not lmao. Lex Luthor for president 20XX!

I love how much that one punch by Joker to Bruce really impacted you all. And yes seeds of doubt are sure to spread, and this is really just the beginning of that kind of thing.

Arrow, while ultimately a side character for now, will definitely have a key role in thinking Batman and the League are going too far.

Superman however, is definitely going to play a much bigger role from here on. I mean he was already planning to go and report on the PTs in Gotham so. I do love the Watchmen reference you did there. It was a big inspiration for all the questions and challenges I'm throwing at the Justice League.

Dude if you thought the general was bad before, buckle up. The way he sees it, the army he helped made and funds are a bunch of failures. And will put Superman under intense scrutiny for his rather lackluster fighting.

Also way to burn Cyborg, like your right and all but, oof XD.

Enjoy~!

Mera watched her son sleep peacefully in his crib. While she tried to calm herself with the sounds of her son's little snores, she found herself consumed with worry.

Her husband should have returned by now. She tried calling multiple times to check in but he was not answering. What is happening up there? Even if distraught by the decision made by the Founders, Arthur would have come home to her for support.

A soft knock was heard on the door, Mera sighed softly and carefully left her child to his sleep.

"Has the king returned?" Mera asked the guard.

"No my Queen. But I bring news from the land." the guard answered.

"Hm? News?" Mera asked.

The guard summoned a bubble of air containing a phone. Mera raised a brow. She took it, careful not to let the bubble burst and waterlog the device. Surface dwellers made such delicate communicators.

"People of the World. The Justice League has failed you…" the message played. Mera huffed at the foolishness in the statement. Then they started talking about Wonder Woman, even showing her locked in a cell with a look of utter disappointment. How did these people gain access to such things? She knew little about the surface's technology, but she did know the Watchtower prided itself on its security? A spy perhaps?

"Phantom Thieves? Do we have prior knowledge of such a group?" Mera asked as she crossed her arms.

"None in the ancient books my Queen. Nor much of anything aside from rumors up top. They are based in Gotham, that's all we know for sure." the guard said.

"Well then, it would fall to Batman to take care of this, would it not? Why have you brought this to me?" Mera scolded.

"My Queen, this group has threatened the city of Atlantis and the whole world at large! Surely that is a means to look into!" the guard exclaimed.

"We'll see if the group can manage to make it to the vast depths of our kingdom. Until then, raise security on the walls, tell our armies to keep a lookout for anything suspicious. That's as far as I will go until we have more information." Mera ordered.

"Yes, my Queen! Anything else?" the guard asked.

Mera was about to wave the man off but was interrupted by a strange call.

"ALL HEROS! PROTOCOL NEST! WATCHTOWER UNDER ATTACK!" A voice exclaimed.

"UGH!" Mera cried out and went to her knees from the loud internal voice.

"MY QUEEN!" the guard rushed to her side.

"Poseidon below...I must leave!" Mera shouted as she rushed up and swam through the great halls.

"QUEEN MERA!" the guard chased after her.

"Listen closely! Send the elite troops to guard my son. No one but the handmaid is to enter his chambers! If ANYTHING EVEN LOOKS OUT OF PLACE SHOOT IT DOWN! THE JUSTICE LEAGUE AND OUR KING IS UNDER ATTACK!" Mera shouted as she rushed to the teleporter room.

"U-understood! Where are you going?" the guard asked.

"Watchtower! NOW!" Mera yelled.

The technicians were quick to press the right buttons and the teleporter bursts to life.

"I'm coming, my love. Just hold out a bit longer." She whispered to herself as she grabbed her trident and went on the landing pad. She soon disappeared, leaving the head general as de facto leader of Atlantis.

Gotham

The Cauldron, GCPD Lockup.

Megan couldn't believe her ears. All around her police men and women rushed all around in a panic. Papers flew everywhere as everyone around her clamored to work. The...They…

Her family would never be brought back together after this. There was no repairing such a brutal blow to the League, to the world.

The Phantom Thieves just ensured they gained the claim of public enemy number one. And if the Titans were up there...if her friends choose to aid in such an attack….Megan put a hand over her mouth as the message played. Tears streamed down her face as the land in the sand was drawn.

Her family was forever broken because of both the League and the Phantom Thieves. She was not foolish enough to blame solely one side. Her optimism for a Titan reunion was destroyed before her very eyes. And to top it all off...

"ALL HEROS! PROTOCOL NEST! WATCHTOWER UNDER ATTACK!"

Megan gasped. Her telepathy must have picked up her uncle's call. She didn't know the protocol he was talking about, but it couldn't be good. Not with something like this. She rushed past the many clamoring officers, Commissioner Gordon and Lieutenant Cash were both on the phones, Cash roaring in anger on the intercom to flood the streets with cop cars for the riots to come. Gordon looked pale and worried as the person on the phone screamed at him in anger.

Gordon hung up furiously and grabbed the intercom from Cash.

"ALL OFFICERS SEARCH THE STREETS! MULTIPLE DIPLOMATS AND CIVILIANS ARE MISSING FROM THE TOWER!" Gordon roared, only making the panic in the lockup worse.

Megan heard the announcement as she rushed outside. The streets were already chaotic, gangs broke windows, rioters screamed at the top of their lungs, traffic was at a grinding halt.

Fights were all around her, police sirens did little to quiet the screams, the booming thunder and the pouring rain wasn't aiding in that either.

She dialed Barbara but was weirdly immediately transferred to Alfred. He was quick to give her the location all Titans will meet up.

"I'm on my way!" She exclaimed quickly, finding an alleyway to turn invisible and fly to the meeting point.

Jefferson Pierce stood up fiercely as his personal phone was hacked. The message played, that distorted voice could not be older than sixteen. The girl shouting that the Justice League was corrupt and broken could have been one of his own students.

Moments after the message ended, police sirens blared all around in the distance. The gangs would use this as a way to make bank. The scandal of Wonder Woman being imprisoned would make even non gang members riot in the streets.

Pierce put his hand to his head and sighed. He went to a hidden compartment and got out a briefcase. Before he could even get suited up.

"ALL HEROS! PROTOCOL NEST! WATCHTOWER UNDER ATTACK!" The voice in his head shouted.

"AH! Son of a- I'm not even an official member and they're calling me?" Pierce grumbled.

He quickly changed into his hero suit. He made sure all his equipment was in order. He heard screams and gunshots in the distance. The League isn't considering the people downstairs.

In a moment of consideration he was quick to make his choice. His burner was blaring. His daughters probably. Thunder and Lighting were probably already on the streets trying to contain all the chaos.

Pierce wouldn't leave his daughters alone in that fight. He appreciated the consideration, but it was clear the streets needed him more.

Black Lightning put on his goggles and powered them on. He'd help as much as he could in his own way.

Batcave

Robin was trying to hack into the teleporters. He was determined to get up there and help his father! But it was no use, Bruce's security didn't allow Damian access to such machinery. And for good reason.

"DAMMIT OLD MAN! GIVE ME THE CODES!" Robin roared at Alfred.

When the butler sent a lower servant to pick him up from school Damien knew something was wrong. And the boy was right! His father was up there defending the place from those blasted Thieves.

"Master Damian, as stated before, I cannot allow that." Alfred responded.

The old man sighed as he typed on the Batcomputer. He was trying to focus and do what he could to get in contact with any hero. But he had no luck, especially with the boy behind him screaming in his ear.

If that weren't enough, the multiple broadcasts he had up trying to locate any heroes was hijacked. The emblem that he was frankly getting tired of seeing appeared. Damien's incessant shrieking stopped as cold fury filled his whole body.

"People of the world…" Alibaba began.

Alfred and Damian both stood in silence. Alfred had a calm poker face on the entire message. On the inside however, he was getting worried. The Phantom Thieves had to hijack the entire Watchtower in order to get that footage of Wonder Woman. Her judging eyes peer right through the butler's soul.

Alfred, like with most of Bruce's foes, remained neutral, calm, respecting his adoptive son's choices in the beginning. But as the previous two months passed, the more the man's neutrality wavered. He kept all of it in check, not wanting to make Bruce close off from him again. But it was clear his son was becoming more and more battered mentally from this case.

The physical assault Bruce went through daily was enough to make Alfred rather tired of all this. His son was already broken beyond repair from that dreadful night in the alley. Alfred did all he could to sweep up and repair the shattered mind that Bruce had. It was his duty, his sworn promise to the Wayne family. But this...these children were making Bruce snap.

It wasn't the clown, Talia, Ra's, Dr. Crane's drugs, Jason's death, not even Bane breaking his son's spine.

All of those people merely made Bruce feel validated in his code. That the streets needed him to be what he is. These children spat in all of that, every action destroying the foundation of Bruce's legacy and the years he suffered upholding it.

The Phantom Thieves, whether they are just or not, are breaking the system Bruce upholds with an alternative. Slowly but surely turning all allies against him, and defeating his enemies for him.

The whole world will now roar in fury at his failings today. Alfred knew it would only make his son's condition worse. It would make him more obsessed, more paranoid, and more stubborn to other options.

Alfred sighed as he clenched his brow. Bruce's crusade for justice, Alfred believes in it, but he also believes it is slowly destroying what little chances his son has for a better life. One where he doesn't have to break bones and arrest crooks to fill the void of guilt and darkness.

The more and more Alfred tried to stop it, try and gently guide his son to see the light...the more and more darkness reared its head, and the more the obsession spread to others.

"Let me up there. NOW!" Robin hissed.

Domain was proof of that, the poor boy's entire existence was made by Alfred's failure to tell his son not to trust Talia. And here the boy stood, a carbon copy of Bruce's younger looks. The only difference were the venomous green eyes from his mother.

"No." Alfred said simply.

"THE BASTARD'S WILL GET AWAY!" Robin screamed.

"I will not. Master Bruce would never forgive me if another son fell in battle." Alfred said, looking the boy right in the eyes.

"IDIOT! YOU THINK I WOULD FALL LIKE THAT FOOL TODD?! I WOULD NEVER DIE LIKE THE FAILURE HE WAS!" Robin roared.

Alfred grabbed the boy by the collar and stared him down, anger and disgust filling him.

"Do not talk about your brother that way. His death scars your father deep, as well as I. And here we always respect the dead." The butler hissed.

Damian glared right back at the man, unapologetic for his words.

"You forget boy, your father may have trained with multiple assassins and beaten many murderers, but he was raised by me. Molded by me, and was taught to respect others properly. Would you like for me to instill that same respect in you?" Alfred asked sternly.

Damian gritted his teeth, he didn't dare lash out on the man. The boy never saw the butler fight, nor did he ever see Alfred so angry. But there must be a reason his father yielded only to this old man.

"Apologies." Damian grounded out.

"What was that, Master Damian? I couldn't quite hear you." Alfred pressed.

"Apologies...Sir."

With that Alfred released the boy, keeping his stern look of authority on him. Damian crossed his arms and looked away, trying to keep any dignity he had left.

Right then the Batcomputer chimed. Alfred was quick to answer it. Tim's face appeared on the screen.

Master Drake, I assume you finally heard the news?" Alfred asked sarcastically.

"YOU IDIOT! WERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Damian roared.

Alfred sighed as Damian started back up again.

"BLOODY IDIOTS! I WANT THEM DEAD YA HEAR ME?!" Cobblepot hissed at his goons.

"But sir, how will we kill 'em if they're in space?" A goon asked.

BANG! BANG!

The goon dropped dead, Penguin's umbrella was smoking from the tip. The entire room stood silent.

"WANKER! They gotta come down some time! When they do pop their heads clean off! Two million a head. Fuck it, six for any of those bastard Thieves droppin dead. Twelve mil if you drag 'em' here for me to feed the shark. Get outta my sight." Penguin hissed.

The room cleared out. KGBeast and Prometheus were about to turn and leave.

"Except you two." Penguin said.

"Something else?" KGBeast asked.

"Yeah, want you to find any mercs ya can. Ones that are actually good." Penguin said.

"And have us miss out on a sweet twelve mil?" Prometheus scoffed at the low number.

"Fuck off, ya know that's just for the guppies to aim better. This is a group of bastards who managed to get into the bloody Watchtower. Forty for each one ya down." Penguin huffed.

"Each? Wow boss, you're really shitting your pants." KGBeast whistled.

"This is fucking serious! Falcone and Black Mask are outta the picture. The clown ain't big on newbies in his little parade. It's a coin flip whether or not he kills the initiates for laughs. That means I'm the top dog of this town. And I am not given that spot up! This city is fucking mine." Penguin spat.

The short man has never felt such fear behind being the de facto kingpin.

"We all have eyes on us from two fucking monsters. Batman and his kiddies will want to take us down even more than usual after all this. To prove a bloody point there better. I don't know what's worse, their beatings, or whatever the hell those kids do to your mind. Get me every assassin on the fucking market. Fuck competition, you blokes know they took out Walrus before they did me. Flood the streets with mercs." Penguin ordered.

"Even one eye?" KGBeast asked.

"Not him! At least...not yet. If worse comes to worse...bloody hell he'll run my wallet dry." Penguin shook his head.

"...Fine. Put a call out on the black market. Make it good money. Real good money. We'll find the ones who are too scared. Noone's stopping me from killing every pig in this town." Prometheus huffed as he stormed out.

Penguin lit up a long cigar and puffed, trying to calm himself. No one would take his turf, no one would take his mind. But most of all, no one will take his fucking money.

Salem, Massachusetts, Tower of Fate

It was quiet in the tower for once. The two lovers Inza and Kent were in a deep sleep together in their chambers. Inza fluttered her eyes open and looked upon her husband. It felt like years since they simply shared bedsheets. It felt like years since she could feel her husband's warmth, see his sleeping form at all.

The woman closed the little gap and wrapped their legs together, laying her head on his chest, and hand on his heart. It was times like these where she felt most content, like the world was finally at peace. When she didn't feel like a mere accessory that is walked past by the great Doctor Fate.

She knew the Lord's importance to the world, to the universe. But she also knew her husband was more than just the man who wears the mask. Her Kent was more than the host for an overly controlling god, and he deserves to be treated as such.

He deserves more than the allotted week of freedom a year to take the damn thing off. They both deserve to have more time together for all the work they have done since they found Nabu all the way back in the 1930s.

Though now immortal and powerful from Fate's tower and books she must keep in order. She still yearns for her husband's touch. So when they all need a bit of rest and de-stressing, she silences the blasted communicator the Dark Knight gave them.

She was quick to embrace Kent and soothe his alerted body back to sleep. For he deserves it. They both do.

"What was that sound, darling?" Kent asked groggily.

"Ssshhh. It was nothing, my love. Rest with me, just a little longer." She whispered in his ear.

Kent took a deep breath and nodded, wrapping his arms around her. Inza, cold and isolated by years of work for her lord, smiled brightly and nestled her head in the crook of her husband's neck., offering a sweet kiss to the cheek.

When did such little things replace the deep love the two had for each other? Why must such a distant relationship exist when they see each other every day? The Lord Nabu offered so many blessings on her, but at the cost of something she held so dear.

Centuries together with her husband, but with him never joining her in their chambers. Her loyalty to him and his cause forever tested alone in this tower, like a princess waiting for her knight. No...Like a housewife worried her soldier will never return from the war.

She would not waste what little reward she could find in such circumstances.

But all good things must come to an end.

"ALL HEROS! PROTOCOL NEST! WATCHTOWER UNDER ATTACK!"

The two were jolted awake by the call from unknown sources. Inza grasped her head while Kent rushed out of bed. She had to grab his arm to stop his automatic pursuit.

"Kent...please...just this once. Go back to bed with me." Inza looked up at her husband, struggling to hold back tears.

"Inza...you, silenced the comm didn't you? What have you done woman?! WHO KNOWS WHAT'S HAPPENING OUT THERE?!" Kent hissed.

"I SLEPT WITH MY HUSBAND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TWO YEARS!" Inza roared back. Kent was shocked and silent to his wife, she never raised her voice unless truly distressed.

"I...I'm sorry...I" Inza was sobbing and stuttering.

Kent took hold of her cheek.

"Inza…" Kent called.

"I'm so sorry...I miss you so much, darling! It pains me so much to be without you and-"

"Inza, darling, listen to me." Kent tried.

"And know our lord will be furious with me, I know I've sinned. But...I was so lonely without you and I couldn't take it anymore so-"

Kent sighed as his wife went on. There was only one way to get her under control now…

Kent took her by the waist and kissed her deeply and passionately. The feeling of her husband's lips shocked Inza, but the passion in the embrace comforted her as she was quick to return with fever.

"Mmmm~" Inza cooed.

Kent released her lips, his wife trying desperately to keep it going for the seconds she could. Her blush and pout of disappointment brought Kent to chuckle.

"They need Fate darling. Who are we to deny cries of help?" Kent asked.

"I...I'm sorry darling. It's just so hard at times not seeing you without the mask." Inza whispered.

"Selfish girl~ Do you not think I miss you as well?" Kent ran his hand through her long hair.

Inza looked away from him, ashamed.

"My sweet Inza. I truly have been neglecting you as a husband. For you to smother these feelings down for so long. For that I am sorry." Kent put a hand on her shoulder.

Inza was quick to look back.

"No! I am the one who should be sorry, love. I let myself fall into temptation and ignore the people's cries! I should be thrown out of the Tower and left for the magic to run its course and-"

"There will be no such thing!" Kent grounded out, silencing her.

"I will not let you turn to ash outside of this place. I would rather die than see such a fate. No...I want you with me, here. Until the end of time." Kent said firmly.

"T-Truly?" Inza gasped out.

"Absolutely. Nabu be damned if he dares make me do such things." Kent said.

"Oh~! Kent~! It makes me so happy for you to say those words!" Inza glomped on her husband, weeping tears of joy.

"There, there, my love. We must continue this discussion later. The world needs us. Are you ready?" Kent asked.

Inza sniffed as she wiped her eyes. She smiled sweetly at Kent.

"Yes. Let us go. Together." Inza took her husband's hand tightly.

With that they walked to the Helmet of Fate. Inza tightens her hold on her husband's hand. She refused to be left behind any longer. If they must fight, they will fight together.

She couldn't let her husband bear this weight alone anymore. She will help him, and if they die, at least they die together

They placed their hands on the helmet, the power coursed through them as blinding light over took the entire tower.

In an instant Doctor Fate stood tall, the god quick to be furious.

"We will discuss your foolishness later." Nabu hissed.

With that the doctor summoned a teleportation gate and stepped through it, clenching his fists for the fight to come.

Anarky's Hideout

Hyde stood calm as the message played across the city. He had to make sure to keep in character for the goons around him. The whole courthouse was murmuring to each other. Joey was off to the side bouncing in excitement over the Phantom Thieves proclamation. The orphan was one of the few that were.

Anarky was seething, most likely due to the fact he had no knowledge of such an attack. If he did Hyde would have known about it and reported it to base. Hyde figured the villain was most likely feeling inferior and small due to the Phantom Thieves now immense infamy. That or Anarky realizes the risks of helping such public threats.

By all accounts, Anarky and his den of followers were becoming more and more of a loose end. A group that was but a footstep to the Phantom Thieves' greater goals. Anarky simply set his sights on Gotham's corrupted system. While ambitious, he was also realistic, his small group could not spread to international levels.

They also were out in the open, at least a lot more than any other villain currently. Batman in his rage will surely break into this hideout and demand answers, at least he would if Hyde didn't give detailed reports of every little plan he found in his cover. But Anarky didn't know that, and with that fear instilled into him, along with the fear of all of Gotham closing in on him and his forces...The leader did the only thing he could.

"Kill them. Find Ryder, find White Rabbit, anything to draw them out. This deal has become too costly for my tastes." Anarky whispered to Hyde and the other goons. To the villains credit, he didn't say it out loud to the homeless or the children. Joey alone would have been shocked and disgusted.

"Make sure that they know it was us. Blame the Penguin, blame the clown, I don't care. Just make sure we aren't made prime suspects. We cannot take the heat, and we sure as hell can't take theirs." Anarky said.

Hyde and the goons nodded. Hyde left the hideout just in time for him to turn on his comm and get a message.

The Titans were all ordered to go to Tim's apartment for planning. Hyde looked back at the courthouse, he knew if police or goons surrounded them, the civilians inside would be endangered. Anarky just might want to die with his cause and blow the place to ash, taking all the people inside with him.

But, the like most hero work the boy dealt with, his job came with such risks. The Phantom Thieves were certainly more of a threat to risk such measures. Aquaboy frowned at himself for a moment but pushed it down. The chaos will only end when the Thieves are locked up, and his team will have to pick up and fix the pieces caused by the Thieves' destruction.

It was the only way. The right way.

Jaime Reyes was skateboarding home when it happened. He already had plenty of problems to begin with. A weird device attached itself to his back and wouldn't come off. "The Scarab," it called himself, claiming it was from space and was designed to give a host superpowers.

Jaime chose to ignore it at first, but when he walked by a mugger assaulting a woman one night the thing took over. It proved it's claim by easily taking the goon down, making the woman hug the high schooler in thanks. Three weeks passed by as the boy slowly got used to the scarab. He was a quick hometown hero and was quick to love hero work.

But just like always, the scarab had a mind of its own sometimes. An alien mind with no regard for his personal life.

"Large mystical anomaly detected. Probability of invasion, sixty percent or higher." The scarab said.

"Wha? The hell are you talking about? I don't see anything." Jaime said.

"Source comes from low orbit. The amount of power needed for trackers to sense it from such lengths is immense. Probability of invasion eighty percent. Preparing counter measures."

The device on his back started to spread across Jaime's skin, pinchers formed and clutched the boy's shoulders. Jamie was quick to find a safe place to hide.

"WOAH! WOAH! We talked about this! Give me time to find a place to hide!" Jamie hissed.

"All energy diverted to jet propulsion. Prepare for flight."

A pair of blue wings tore through Jaime's shirt, followed by thrusters that were quick to blast the boy into the air at high speeds.

"NOT AGAIN! I JUST BOUGHT THAT SHIRT!" Jaime cried as the ground shrunk beneath him. The suit was spreading across his torso to cover his bare chest.

"A sound akin to the roar of an animal was picked up from the source. Probability of invasion is ninety percent." The scarab ignored him. The boy's arms were quickly put under control of the alien device as it morphed it's form to more powerful thrusters and picked up speeds, the legs and feet did the same.

Jamie sighed, but relented to the danger at hand. He allowed the scarab to take control as the suit slowly crawled up his neck.

"Ok fine. We're having a talk about this when we get back! What is it?" Jamie asked.

"Unknown."

The blue and black alien material spread across Jamie's face. Yellow lenses formed around the boy's eyes and scanned all around the sky for any hostels.

"All communication links have been taken over. A message is being played around the globe. Probability of invasion is ninety nine percent."

"Play it." Jamie commanded.

"People of the world…" An image of a logo he saw on the internet a couple times appeared in his lenses. Jamie's eyes widened. The Watchtower was under attack?! WONDER WOMAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED?!

"Entering low orbit. Hostiles spotted. Engaging."

"WAIT!" Jamie yelled but then he opened fire on the wall of demons and angels protecting the Earth from the ferals.

"AHHH! HOSTILE FROM BEHIND! KILL HIM!" The hit demon hissed in pain.

The loose ferals that broke through the one were quick to charge at the hero. He didn't know what was going on. The Justice League and a group called the Phantom Thieves were fighting each other.

The millions of demons in front of him all hissed and focused their rage on him. In the distance he saw the damaged wreck that the Watchtower was in. He knew there were civilians and workers that lived in it.

He couldn't let them die. He couldn't live up to the Blue Beetle name if he did!

"OUT OF MY WAY YA MONSTERS I'M HELPING THOSE INNOCENTS IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO!" Blue Beetle roared.

He could not risk the white beings lying about the crew on board. He didn't know if the footage of Wonder Woman was faked or something like that. All he knew was the Justice League was under attack by murderous monsters, and he couldn't let them fight them alone!

Even if the odds are stacked against him.

Court of Owls Hideout

The Judge was not happy about this. Not happy at all.

His followers were all on their knees begging for him to do something about the Phantom Thieves. He made the deal with the League of Assassins to finally get close to the Demon's head and slice it clean off its shoulders.

Whatever Ra's al Ghul has planned for the Phantom Thieves is too much of a gamble for the owl to take. These children are simply making too much noise, lacking any subtlety in their mission. For the one time in centuries, the streets run rampant with crooks, riots, and chaos.

And not the kind the Court benefits from. The lower class will scream at the top of their lungs for justice, awakened by these teenagers of the society they've been blinded by for decades.

It simply couldn't be allowed.

"Kill them. Make sure the public sees their corpses." The Judge said coldly.

"My Lord, what of the Demon?"

"Whatever he has planned will have to be stopped. Whether with a new candidate, Dent, or Sharp turning to us. Gotham is running wild, time to tame it." The Judge ordered.

The lackey bowed deeply and rushed off. The Court's assassins will be out hunting for the Thieves for years if need be. The children must die, turned, something other than breaking the Court's standing.

The Judge clenched its claws and went back into the shadows. The Ra's will surely come for them after this. Let the fool come, his assassins are brutal, but lack the strength and tenacity he does.

If a war must be fought in secret from the public for control of the city, so be it.

King Tut's Hideout

Conner rose an eyebrow at the news. It was clear the idiots around him didn't know a single thing about this plan. Cleopatra and King Tut gave a simple instruction to lay low for now and hold the fort. They haven't been heard from since last night.

"What are we gonna do?!" one shouted.

"How the hell should I know?!" another shouted.

"Nothing, that's what! Bosses said as much, just stay here and don't engage in the riots outside." a third goon said.

Conner scoffed at the men, he didn't know what he was expecting risking them knowing about his blown cover. It was clear the Titans either didn't have time to blow it, or didn't care. Both spoke of insignificance on King Tut's part.

They haven't even started on changing the decorations of Zues's casino to their brand. A bunch of Eygptian wannabes standing in a Greek palace. This was not worth his time.

"Hey, Kurt. The hell are you going?" a thug asked.

"Out." Conner said simply as he walked away.

"But the boss said-"

"The boss is stupid, I'm stealing some shit." Conner covered his bases.

"Idiot, cops are everywhere!"

"More for me then." Conner retorted as he slammed the door.

He pulled out his Titan communicator and automatically dialed for Dick. He huffed at himself.

"Right," Conner shook his head. He already told himself he'd take his friends in if he had to, but it was clear he was still reeling at the current state of things.

He didn't know the Phantom Thieves, not on a personal level anyway. Like any enemy, Conner just fought them off and stopped it at listening to them squirm. While very different in their situation and standing, Conner could easily just follow orders and take them in.

The other Titans? The ones that left? How could he do that?

He believed they were wrong, misguided in their thinking, but they were still his family. They're probably up there with the idiots. They were making damn sure the bridges were nice and burned.

What was he gonna do when it came time to face them? What were the others going to do?

Superboy sighed as he typed in Tim's number. He was immediately rerouted to Alfred of all people. Ordered to go to another place, to do another task, without question.

For once Superboy was questioning his resolve to do something, ever since he quit the drugs Luthor used to give him.

Things can never just be simple can they?

Harvey Dent slammed his fist against his phone. The device cracked and shattered from the force.

"The whole damn country is gonna be on my ass now!" Dent hissed.

"These kiddies need to die. NOW!" Big Bad Harv shouted.

"NO! No...that would only make their case. We need them charged, booked, locked away for good. In view of the entire world. That's the only way."

"Fuck that! Kids need to go down! Locking them up will only mean their escape! Pigs are useless and you know it. The courts are too."

"And we need to fix them, the only way to do that is to play it straight. Be the model of justice we all need right now. Don't let fear for a bunch of kids get to you."

"Look how far that's got us! The system is too broken, too corrupt. The thugs outside have it dead to rights. The only way to fix it is to burn it all to the ground, along with all the innocents who enable it. Take the throne by force and rebuild."

"Enough! I am in charge. I run the show. You're just a voice, a figment!"

"You're too weak Harv. Always have, always will be. A pill won't keep me quiet forever. And you're too much of a bitch to finish me off. Because you know you need me."

Dent spilled his medication across the table and shoved one down his throat. He panted as he wiped the sweat from his brow. The voice was getting worse, it always did when he got stressed or angry.

He let the raging venom of his alternate personality die down. He knew he should never listen to it, but at times its points and actions of violence were so tempting. A guilty pleasure that allowed him to imagine himself to think of the easy way.

But justice wasn't easy, it never was. It was long and grueling, a war never truly won. But he'd fight it, and fight the easy way. He wasn't the weak boy that needed Big Bad Harv anymore. He'd prove it by getting the election, and stopping these kids before they could cause more damage to his reputation.

Luck was on his side, the flipping of his coin in his favor said as much. He'd win, even if he had to make his own luck.

"HELP!" A woman cried.

The fires roared as the apartment building crumbled.

"It's too chaotic! The fires aren't dying out!" A firefighter yelled.

"I'll take care of it" A guy put his hand on the man's shoulder.

"A LEAGUE MEMBER IS HERE HOORAY!" A civiain cheered.

"Ugh! Did it have to be him? He gives me the creeps." Another groaned.

The firefighter turned to see…

A man wearing goggles and a weird spandex suit that barely covered his chest.

"Never fear! For, Plastic Man is here!" Plastic Man chimed.

The hero then stretched his legs to walk in.

"That was so lame, come on man you can do better." Plastic Man groaned to himself.

He carefully stretched through the collapsed walls and doors of the building, checking for survivors. The heat burned his elastic skin but he ignored it, favoring being a savior.

"HELP!" someone cried.

Plastic Man's ear grew twice its size to hear the civilian. He grew his fist and smashed downwards.

"AHHHHHH!" The woman screamed.

"It's ok! I'm here to save you!" Plastic Man stretched his head to her.

"FREAK!"

BAM!

Plastic Man's head was bashed to the side. His cheek caved in and entire face stretched and jiggled from the impact.

"I bet this never happens to Superman." He mumbled.

He grabbed the woman as she screamed in terror. She struggled out of his hold the moment she was out of the building and rushed to an officer.

"ARREST THAT GUY! HE'S FREAKING ME OUT!"

"But Ma'am, that's a Justice League member. You know, Plastic Man?" the officer questioned.

"Who?" the woman asked.

Plastic Man deflated to the ground at that. He's been assigned to Chicago for two years and people still didn't know him. What was he invisible or something?

"Ugh. At least I don't get screamed at as much." Plastic Man morphed into a plane and took off.

"What the hell?!" Another man screamed.

Keyword "much". Plastic Man shrugged it off. Can't blame people for getting freaked out about his powers. It freaked him out at first too. All he could do was his best to make up for his life of crime before that fateful day he was exposed to that weird acid. At least he doesn't look like a clown and blow up buildings.

His flight around the city was interrupted by the hijacking of all tvs, billboards, and phones.

"People of the world…" Alibaba started.

"Eh? New guys? They start younger and younger." Plastic Man mused.

Then they showed Wonder Woman imprisoned.

"WHAAAA?!"

SPLAT!

In his shock he crashed into a nearby building. His form not breaking the window, but making him deform into a pancake. Much to the terror of the workers inside.

"Sorry! Have to go! Hero stuff!" Plastic Man apologized.

The hero rushed to his hideout.

"ALL HEROS! PROTOCOL NEST! WATCHTOWER UNDER ATTACK!"

"I'm on it! I'm on it! I turn off my comm one time!" Plastic Man retorted.

He made it to his teleporter and entered his destination. Maybe this was the time he could make a name for himself, and redeem his past life of crime.

He blasted off with that thought, not knowing the true chaos that was happening on the Watchtower.

Ra's sipped some wine as he looked at the riots down below. It seems he underestimated just how powerful the Phantom Thieves are. He scowled at the news, not because it ruined his plans. It actually helped his cause a good deal. No, it was because of his inability to foresee such events coming.

Perhaps he was too harsh in leaving his daughter to die if his children had such means. If they could get into the Watchtower this easily, it's only logical they had the resources to capture her and the missing assassins.

And now he is missing one of his greatest trainers and a good number of loyal servants. Even more have gone missing recently, Talia must have been turned to their side somehow. Another underestimation on Ra's part. Just what more were these children capable of. Talia was nothing more than a lap dog to his cause, willing to die a thousand deaths before betraying him. Even the detective who she fell in love with failed to turn her against Ra's. What did they do? What does she know that he doesn't?

"Call all the branch heads. All heads across the world must be properly prepared for what's to come. The Court will surely buckle under these children's threats. We must rethink our tactics to account for such." Ra's said.

"What of the Thieves my Lord?" his servant asked.

"That is the question isn't it? What do I do with a group unknowingly doing my work of tearing the city apart for me? But will surely come for my head when the time comes. For now, make sure they are thoroughly distracted by the many other corrupt systems at play. We can't afford our plans to be sullied this early. Keep them away from the Asylum, and away from Sharp. Let the detective do the dirty work, and when he finds them is when we strike." Ra's ordered.

Ra's turned back to the window and stared at the chaos. This corrupt city is only starting to ignite in the flames of destruction. He'll make sure the fire is properly maintained until the city is nothing but ash.

Cassandra was surrounded by broken bots. The last hours spent in a rampage of venting her frustrations. She panted from exertion, and wiped sweat from her brow. The intense exercise did not comfort her in the slightest. The short time she allowed her comm to be silent, offering a brief time alone did not help either.

The girl felt stuck, useless. Despite every fiber of her being working to make the city safe, it seems she has made little progress. Now here she was sulking about a group's victory, like a spoiled girl.

Sure, the Phantom Thieves caught her off guard every battle. But, that was only because she did not know their tactics. The parts of Titans that joined changed nothing, she knew how to fight them after years of sparring.

Sensei will find a way to counteract their attacks and she will follow his methods. That's all she could do for now in terms of her ability.

So why did such thoughts feel so empty? She prided herself being rational, a neutral combatant against crime. But deep down she felt the need to be better. She had to be better! With all of the attacks at the heart of her sensei's legacy, she felt like a disgrace for not being able to stop it.

They were just children! Some her very age, some even younger! How can they evade her pursuits? How have they've gotten to be such fierce fighters in such a short amount of time?!

She didn't know...She didn't know what to do about it at all...and it infuriated her!

SMASH!

Cassandra was quick to get into battle position, ready to defend her sensei's hideout.

But it was just Damian…

"You fucking idiot! You didn't even hear the broadcast did you?!" Damian hissed at her.

She huffed at the boy's harsh words. She didn't know what he was talking about, but she could do without her 'brother' spitting such venom her way.

"What are you talking about Damian? What broadcast?" Cass asked, crossing her arms.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! THE PHANTOM THIEVES ARE ATTACKING THE WATCHTOWER YOU DOLT! WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF YOU FOR HOURS!" Damiana roared.

"W-what?" Cassandra gasped.

"WORTHLESS! ALL OF YOU! Hurry the fuck up and follow me! Tim, while just as stupid, managed to scrap together a plan!" Damian spat.

He slammed the door, leaving Cassandra to rush after him. But not before looking at her phone to see the damage going on outside.

"Oh god! What...What have I done?!" Cassandra struggled to hold back tears at her absolute failure. She deserved Robin's venom, she deserved it all!

She quickly got on her bike and speed after him, seeing first hand the chaos all around her. The chaos that she failed to hear. She was a failure, a disgrace, allowing the Phantom Thieves to get this far!

She'll put a stop to it. Tonight! NOW! She had to or else she could never face her Sensei again!

"Yes sir." Waller said in her phone as she stood in a gigantic meeting room. All around her were secret agents from all organizations. Total silence was maintained as she talked.

"Yes, I understand completely. Right away." She continued.

All around the meeting room the Phantom Thieves masked faces were plastered on the monitors and televisions. Hundreds of workers sent aside all priorities to find a single match on any of the children.

"I couldn't agree more. Of course." Waller tapped her finger on the table.

The generals and officials present were sweating, the more impatient were gritting their teeth, wanting to scream their plans of taking these terrorists down.

"Oh, it would be my absolute honor, sir!" Waller smiled at them all. A bad sign for sure.

"I wish you a pleasant trip to the UN. Thank you for this opportunity, Mr. President!" Waller was then hung up on rudely. But that couldn't bring her down whatsoever.

"Well?" a general asked.

"Operation Flush is on hold...for now. But before you all scream at me, I'd like to say I'm officially the boss of everyone in this room in terms of the Phantom Thieves. No matter how much you scream or shout is irrelevant. This is my show now, and I say send in the squad." Waller smirked.

"Dammit Waller! This is no time for you to use your little meta freak show! The whole world is at our throats! It falls to our government to deal with this threat! They are just kids, track 'em down using their socials, their websites, bust in their little hole and cuff 'em!" A general shouted.

"You think I haven't been doing that? Whoever their hacker is, they are very talented. That website of theirs is more fortified than this place's systems. We'd have better luck with the Dark Knight's security." Waller huffed.

"Speaking of, what is your plan with him? He won't just let you run around with your little team."

"Oh he will, or I'll pull the plug on his little operation. It's only a matter of time anyway if he keeps missing the mark, anyway. I will pull whatever files he has on them from his cold, dead hands if need be." Waller hissed.

"The League will retaliate!"

"The League will be a thing of a past if Operation Flush is a success! We only need a few more months before they're ready. Then we'll have a League of our own. The public will only need a little pushing for it now too! They can't wipe away this scandal in their wildest dreams. We have them by the balls with this general. It's time for them to finally learn who's in charge. Deal with it or it's your career." Waller spat. The woman turned and walked out of the room.

She walked by one of her more known associates and motioned him to follow her.

"How'd it go?" Captain Rick Flag asked.

"The President gave me full control over the situation." Waller chuckled.

"No shit? I'm assuming you want the squad out there soon?" Flag asked.

"But of course, the FBI and NSA can flood the police stations and streets all they want. Their lackeys are not equipped for something like this. The fools in there think we can simply cuff the kids and call it a day. I think we both know better." Waller whispered.

"Amanda, the one confirmed thing about them is that they are minors. This isn't-"

"Ethics are to be thrown out the window here Captain. They always must be when dealing with the meta issues. Either we kill them, or get them to work for us." Waller ordered.

"Work for us? They haven't even stood trial! You want to throw them in with the rest of those crazies in Belle Reve?! Plant a bomb in their head?!" Flag whispered angrily.

"Enough! I don't care if they are kids, they are already proving more and more of a threat than most of our major enemies. We're lucky they only stopped at Blockbuster, that they didn't think to come sniffing at his false arrest records. Having them work for us is the best case scenario for these kids and you know it. Think of what we could do if we could figure out their methods. Just a thought." Waller said.

"I can stomach the others cause of what they did in the past. The murders, the insanity, the power that has to be controlled. This isn't right." Flag hissed.

"And yet those are the two options. We certainly cannot trust the League to hold them with this scandal, now can we? Orders are orders Captain Flag. Either find a way to subdue them long enough for us to examine them, or make sure the public can't trace their deaths to the government." Waller grounded out.

"...Yes...Ma'am…" Rick gritted out.

"One last thing. Find Lawton and bring him in." Waller ordered.

"The man did his time. He's-"

"Still got the bomb implanted in his skull. Graciously allowed to see his daughter, and now allowed the privilege to serve his country. Remember that, and remind him as well." Waller hissed at Flag.

Flag looked at the woman and relented, orders were orders.

"Lawton must have some semblance of what's going on. Even if he doesn't, a clean sniper shot from a mile away sounds like the most discrete outcome. Bring. Him. In." Waller commanded.

"Yes, Ma'am" Flag saluted.

"Then get to it, soldier. And let the prisoners know who their next target is." Waller turned away from him and boarded her plane.

Rick watched the woman leave and scowled. He hated Lawton with a passion, especially when the idiot claimed they weren't so different. He gritted his teeth as he went to his own plane. The trip to Belle Reve was going to be particularly grueling.

It always was when he had to give new orders.

Billy Batson sighed as he scribbled the last sentences of his essay. That was the deal after all, maintain good grades, maintain a low profile, and he gets to stay on the Justice League.

The twelve year old stuffed his backpack with his papers and threw the bag to the corner of his room. That essay took way longer than he expected, the sun was beginning to set, which sucked because that means he only had maybe two hours tops to fly around the city.

He didn't want to get grounded again for being late to curfew. Before he could even get up from his desk, his door slammed open.

"DUDE! HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEWS?!" Freddie screamed. His foster brother used his crutch to move as quickly as he could to Billy.

"I just got done with English homework, what is it?" Billy asked.

"You know the Phantom Thieves? Those guys in Gotham that's giving Batman a run for his money?" Freddie started to explain.

"Not this again man, you haven't shut up about them for the last week!" Billy groaned.

"Because they're so cool!" Freddie said stubbornly.

"Come on, I could take them all down no problem, if it weren't for Batman's stupid rules." Billy rolled his eyes.

"I don't know man, they just took over the Watchtower and-"

"WAIT WHAT?!" Billy shouted.

Freddie pulled up the video on his phone and showed it to his brother.

"How didn't you see this?! It was on the TV, everyone's phones, even the billboards outside!" Freddie exclaimed.

Billy checked his phone, it was dead. He cursed to himself, pulling out his comm.

It was also dead.

"Dammit! I'm in so much trouble for missing this!" Billy sweated. He was really having a bad day.

"Did you know about Wonder Woman's arrest? Did they tell you anything?" Freddie asked.

"NO! They had some big meeting or something for the Founders this morning. But, that's all I knew! What the hell is going on up there? I gotta go." Billy rushed to the door.

"Wait, Billy! Can I come?" Freddie asked.

"What are you, nuts?! NO!" Billy yelled.

"Please~, I wanna see the fight go down." Freddie begged.

"Ugh! You can't breathe in space, Freddie! NO!" Billy said firmly.

"I could hold my breath, come on!" Freddie pleaded.

Billy ignored him and walked past the other members of his family.

"Oh, Billy! No going out tonight, the whole city is throwing a fit over these Phantom Thieves." His foster mom, Rosa said.

"But-"

"No buts, mister! The Vasquez household is hunkering down and waiting for this all to cool down. The riots outside are no place for a kid." Rosa said firmly.

"But mom I-"

"Don't try and butter me up by calling me 'mom' sweetie. Why don't you and your brother go to your rooms and play video games or something? Dinner will be ready soon, and I'm already worried about Victor still working during all this. Please, just stay in tonight. For me?" Rosa asked nicely.

"Yes, ma'am." Billy sighed. He went upstairs, helping Freddie up along the way.

"You're gonna sneak out aren't you?" Freddie whispered.

"You'd better not tell." Billy whispered back.

"Pfft. As if. But you owe me, make sure you get back before Vic gets home." Freddie grinned.

"I'll try to get Superman's autograph again…" Billy sighed.

"I already got one of his! Gimme something good!" Freddie pouted.

Billy sighed and nodded, he snuck out and ran a few blocks away to his usual hiding place. Rosa was right, the streets were chaotic, but he was less worried about the riots, and more concerned with a concerned officer seeing a kid in all of it.

"FREE WONDER WOMAN!" The rioters chanted.

Billy made it to his hideout, he took a minute to wonder just what happened for Wonder Woman to get arrested? It had to be something bad right? But if the Phantom Thieves were doing it, and if everything Freddie says about them is true…

"No, it can't be. They would never lie to us, why would they?" Billy shook his head in denial.

The confused boy was not helped by a sudden headache to top it all off.

"ALL HEROS! PROTOCOL NEST! WATCHTOWER UNDER ATTACK!"

"Ahh! Owww…" Billy rubbed his forehead.

It was worse than he thought, that protocol was only for the worst case scenarios, like invasions and stuff! Billy focused up and took a deep breath.

"SHAZAM!"

A bolt of lighting struck the boy, transforming him into a muscular behemoth of a man. Shazam blasted off at full speed towards the Watchtower, hoping to help the League in any way he could.

While also hoping the League had the answers to his questions.

Joker's Hideout

"Where the hell is she?" Joker hissed calmly.

The goon before him trembled in fear.

"Uh, Quinn's walking the streets of the Row. Dozens of our guys are searching' with her. We searched King Tut's old place. Nobody came back." the goon said.

"Hoho~! How mysterious! I don't care." Joker huffed.

"Guy barely let the pieces of the crew get out of that place. Called himself the 'Red Hood'." The goon sweated.

Joker pulled out a gun and shot the goon until he ran out of ammo. Joker walked up to the dead man, kicked it, and proceeded to reload and fire again until he ran out of bullets loaded.

"First one, now two?! These kids today are getting too big for their britches! They dare take my name, MY LEGACY, and use it for their little show?!" Joker hissed.

Goons all nodded and fled Joker's room. Joker stood alone, his smile the most strained it felt in a long while. He looked at his plan, the months of planning, the very miniscule things that could go wrong.

"Only one thing to do with now." Joker said.

He picked up a flamethrower and blasted the entire room, turning it into an inferno.

That gave him a bit of a chuckle, along with his idiotic followers stubbling over themselves to put out the fire. He ran a hand through his wild and sick green hair.

"New plan boys. Forget the subtle build up for a punchline. I want constant punches to the gut, constant belly laughs across the whole city. People are forgetting why I'm the clown prince 'cause of these kids. If you are all to dumb to catch these ingrates, the least you can do is smoke them out for me. Send out invites for the entire population of goons across the country, they want in then the more the merrier. Every block burned until they show their pretty little heads, every innocent on the street blasted straight to hell." Joker ordered his men.

"What about Batman?" a goon asked.

Joker looked at him and grinned even more widely. He goes to pat the goon on the cheek.

"Good on you to remember dear Batsy. The answer to that, old boy is...deal with him as he comes." Joker chuckled.

"But, sir-"

"SHUT UP! *ahem* The kids have given a playground of chaos to run wild in. Who are we to ignore such a lovely offer. The police flooding the streets, the feds are sure to follow, tanks might be on the table if we play our cards right!" Joker chuckled to himself at the thought.

The whole room was silent.

"The way I see it, the kids would have gotten me by now if they had the means to. I'm calling their bluff, for some reason they can't get me. So in a way, I'm untouchable to their little heart stealing~!" Joker laughed.

"That really didn't answer my-"

BANG!

The goon dropped dead. Joker put away his little pistol back in his jacket.

"I'm getting to it, don't rush me! We haven't had this much chaos since the old backbreaker put old Batsy out of commission. Think! We can't kill them right now, but we can certainly use their seeds of chaos for our benefit! Don't mishear me, I want them dead. Really, really, dead! But I also thank them for giving me freedom to do as I wish. Batman will be obsessed with them after the little Watchtower number. Focusing all his time to hunting them like dogs, the same with the police and feds. So show them who the real Joker is boys, be imaginative, think outside of the box, but most of all be funny." Joker walked out the room, his chuckles echoing in the big halls.

"And Harley? Do we help her or-"

Joker pulled out his other gun and aimed it at the goon.

"NO PLEASE!"

BANG!

A flag that said the word 'bang' popped out of the gun.

"No more dumb questions." Joker chuckled.

"Y-yes sir! Right away!" The goon saluted. With that Joker walked away.

His plans were up in flames, literally~! But Joker laughed it off, if the kiddies want to play heroes so bad, he'll show them what that means. He still had tons of laughing gas stored across the state, explosives stored right by them ready to blow. A push of the button is all it takes.

But the Joker first and foremost was a showman, simply blowing them up with no one to fail saving the world wouldn't be fun. It would be a waste of a punchline, no, he has something else he's been drumming up for a while now. And with the stakes being this big, he has to go all out.

He laughed at the irony of it all. Despite the little wannabe taking his name, the little guy simply couldn't take the clown out. How fitting, Batman will forever be his muse for mayhem. But these kids are quickly becoming new favorites. It's a shame they have to die because of their stubbornness to change names.

And even more of a shame that a heart can't change if he kills the person first. And some new guy blowing up heads didn't scare him. Both will diel for their use of his many names.

The thought brought a more jovial grin to the villain's face.

Amusement Mile

"Holy shit…" Jason said, almost impressed.

The teen had to give the Thieves credit, they had massive balls to pull a stunt like this. He figured the group were just a bunch of kids running around causing havoc using Joker's name for easy fame.

Now...He was considering actually looking into them. Barely twenty four hours back home and Jason was already being taken down a peg. Everything he hated about the League was being broadcasted across the globe. All of Bruce's little friends were being exposed for the failures they are.

"Figures Wonder Woman was the only one to stick to her morals. Supes always was the bottom when it came to dealing with the old man." Jason huffed as he got up from his moldy couch.

Jason prepared his loadout for the night. If the Phantom Thieves are being this loud, Harley is going to be louder trying to find their lead. Not to mention the streets will practically be on fire for the rest of the night.

If he was right about one thing from the little knowledge he gathered on the Thieves, they really were wreaking havoc. But in a way he could appreciate, he could only imagine how much all of the corrupt elites and crooks were wetting themselves right now.

Whatever the Thieves did, Hatter and Black Mask are out of the picture. One a serial rapist, another a soon to be kingpin. Not to mention all the minor leagues basically being extinct due to their work. The whole city is scrambling for a new top dog, and Jason figures he'd fit the mold just fine.

Because the Thieves aren't going far enough. Sure, they're making more progress than the old man ever did. But that won't stop more goons coming in and destroying the city. And even the footage he found of the Rouge's balling for forgiveness wasn't enough.

A simple confession doesn't wipe away the years of blood and dead bodies. The courts can stuff them in the asylum all they want, he'll break into each cell and put a bullet between the eyes.

The old man always said if you kill a murderer, the amount of murderers stays the same. Well Jason will replace one but put down hundreds more. For the mourning families, for each and every grave filled by the filth on the streets.

Jason put on his helmet, the thoughts of all the death around him getting to him.

"Then there's the clown." Red Hood hissed.

Especially the clown. No one compares to the evil that monster has done. He can humor redemption for some, but not the Joker. Never the Joker.

He'll drag Bruce kicking and screaming to watch him do it. Or better yet, finally prove to the man his morality is immensely flawed, and have Batman himself pull the trigger.

And then Jason will beat his father to a pulp for not doing it sooner.

Red Hood hopped on his motorcycle and raced to Park Row, hopefully the goon from last night was telling the truth. Even if he wasn't, Red Hood had to stake his claim on the area anyway.

Either you work for the Red Hood, or you lie down next to all the people you've killed.

He'll have a little talk with the Thieves when they get back on Earth. And he'll make sure to give that very message.

Harley raised her AR-15 and shot it into the air until she ran out of ammo. She cackled wildly and motioned for another weapon.

She took an RPG and fired it at the door of King Tut's new casino.

BOOM!

The door blew to pieces, Her lackeys were quick to open fire on all of the people inside. But, the casino was well fortified as per Zues's design. Harley smiled, the guys in there were just scraps left over from Falcone, Mask, and Hatter. They didn't have enough time to establish loyalty to Tut, and with this assault they'll be giving up in no time.

Broker sang like a bird when she busted down his office and demanded him to give whatever properties the Phantom Thieves owned. She made it perfectly clear with her bat that client confidentiality didn't apply when Joker's sweetheart knocks at your door.

His torture didn't change the answer one bit. Harley huffed at the man's reluctance, but a goon had the bright idea to ask about King Tut. That made the real estate rat shake in his boots.

A couple of swings from Harley's trusty bat, and he gave up the casino. It was fresh, Zeus's ugly face was still plastered all over the building.

"Tut thinks he can hold the kid, he's got another thing comin', right boys?" Harely pumped up her crew.

"YEAH!"

Despite Harley's smile, inside she was furious. These kids aren't making her job any easier, that's for sure! Mister J is probably killing bozos left and right because of this broadcast. She huffed, she'd make him smile again! She had too!

It's only been two days since she started looking for them! Should be easy with all the goons running around. Some loose lipped sucker had to know something in that casino!

She'll grab King Tut and his little side piece, actually side pieces if the rumors were true. Harley shook her head, the point is she'll make 'em talk!

"WE GIVE! WE GIVE!" A guy yelled.

"IDIOT! WHAT ABOUT THE PHARAOH BACK THERE!" another goon shouted.

"He didn't wake up! So, fuck him!" the first one said.

BANG BANG!

They both dropped dead, Joker's crew worked through the multiple floors of the casino.

Harley walked in with a hand on her hip, RPG in another.

"ANY OF YOU ASSWIPES KNOW AKECHI GORO?!" Harley roared.

"Who?"

Harley shot a rocket in the direction, the explosion making the foundation of the casino crumble.

"WRONG ANSWER! HERE'S HOW THIS WORKS CHUMPS! My boys will hunt ya down like dogs until you give the Akechi kid up! Bonus points for anything about the Phantom phonies! All exits are blocked off! Mistah J gave me all the boys I needed to find the kids. And I know you assholes are hiding him! WE REACH AN UNDERSTANDING?!" Harley roared.

"FUCK YOU PSYCHO! WE DON'T KNOW NOTHING!" A guy screamed.

Gunfire rained down in all directions, Harley flipped over a poker table and hid behind it for cover.

Fine...we do this the hard way. If she can't find the brat, she'll just take out anyone who would protect him. King Tut will have the shortest criminal career ever, she'll burn down every thing he has until he gives the kid up.

Eiter the bastard knew and was helping the kids, or he was too stupid to notice the Theives were using them. Both meant the guy had to go down.

NANANANANANANANANANANA

In the midst of the battle, Red Hood stood on a rooftop taking in the situation.

"Nothing like a gang war to do my job for me." Red Hood scoffed.

Looks like he was right on the money with Joker's goons going all out to find anything about the kids. Harley wasn't even bothering to be subtle anymore, Joker must be getting impatient.

"What to do? Wait for the filth to scrub itself clean? Hmmm...I do need Quinn, she's probably the only one in there who knows where the clown is." Red Hood thought out loud.

BOOM!

An explosion went off on the upper levels of the casino. Police are probably already on their way in mass to squash this. Not like they'd help the situation at hand.

If he doesn't intervene, Harley will either die due to a lucky bullet, or more likely escape as her crew opens fire on the cops.

With that, Red Hood checked all of his weaponry. Have to be prepared before entering a bloodbath. Quinn should count herself lucky, circumstances make it so she'll die by one bullet tonight. As opposed to hundreds of automatic rounds.

Red Hood jumped through off the roof and snuck up to the goons securing the perimeter.

A few bullets here, a slit throat there, a snapped neck added in for flavor. He had an opening to grapple up through a window.

Red Hood walked past the bloodied corpses wearing King Tut symbols. He reloaded his shotgun, there was little need to be quiet when bullets were flying.

"I'm coming for you Quinn. Whether you like it or not." Red Hood hissed.

Cafe Leblanc

Sojiro sighed as he put up the last board to protect his shop. Azuki helped, as Maple and Cinnamon comforted the other three catgirls.

"Chocola doesn't understand. Why are we staying here after work?" Chocola asked.

"Don't worry about it Chocola, just...eh, clean the shop for Akira, ok?" Maple said.

With that Chocola hopped up with stars in her eyes and a bright smile.

"Nya~ Anything for Master!" The girl purred as she rushed upstairs to clean anything she could find.

"Sometimes I really do envy her. Ignorance is truly bliss." Cinnamon said.

"You said we need to hide here. Why?" Vanilla asked.

"Is One-chan ok? What about the others? Are they coming?" Coconut asked.

"They're...safe. They'll be back by tonight, you know White? She just told us the streets will be rough tonight that's all." Maple lied.

"Rougher than they usually are?" Vanilla tilted her head.

"Very rough, very...very~ rough." Cinnamon drooled.

"Not now, come on!" Maple hissed.

"Sheesh, hope these things will hold. I really don't want a repeat like with that zebra guy." Sojiro rubbed his forehead.

"I can't fucking believe this. Just when I think I figured that guy out, he does something like this." Azuki mumbled and cursed.

"Thanks for helping out." Sojiro offered a hand to help her up.

"*Sigh* What else am I gonna do? Don't be ridiculous." Azuki huffed.

"Heh. Don't be too upset, Akira at least knows how to protect his friends." Sojiro smiled.

"Oh yeah, I feel so safe, Boss. Like I couldn't be more at ease right now. Like WOW!" Azuki fumed.

"Yeah, yeah. Just grab a gun and take a seat." Sojiro handed her a pistol.

"W-woah...is that...r-real?" Coconuts trembled.

"Maple, Cinnamon, these are yours." Sojiro slid weapons across the table. Maple sighed and took it, Cinnamon solemnly did the same.

"Just like the bar, right May-chan?" Cinnamon asked.

"No, if anyone even sets foot in this place tonight, don't hesitate." Azuki ordered.

"The bar...you didn't tell us what happened there." Vanilla said.

"Vanilla, please. Just...don't. Go help your sister, Coconuts do the same. Run out of things to clean, watch a movie or something. Just don't try to go outside. Please" Cinnamon pleaded.

With that, Vanilla frowned but complied. She and an antsy Coconuts went upstairs to help their sister.

"*Sigh* They're not idiots Azuki, they're gonna find something out. Maybe we should-" MAple tried.

"Don't even finish that thought, I don't want them to turn out like us. I don't want them seeing just how horrible this city is." Azuki grounded out.

"And if someone breaks in and they hear the gunfire? See the dead bodies?" Maple scoffed.

"Then you be real with them, that's what. Until then, I don't need anymore broken children crying in my shop." Sojiro sighed.

"Boss...I don't think Chocola could process reality, and her and Nuts would never be able to sleep after something like that. We should have never come here, but where else could we have gone where those bastards couldn't find us?" Azuki huffed.

"At least you have us, that's something." Sojiro sighed.

"Heh...yeah. Akira, despite it all, gives us a place to be free, not to mention money for food. I just wish things were different. That the world was different, I just don't want my family so close to the war needed to make that kind of thing happen." Azuki admitted.

"You can't have your cake and eat it too, kid." Sojiro said.

"I know...A girl can dream though right?" Azuki huffed.

The TV in the corner glitched and staticed fiercely. Sojiro pushed down the worry caused by hearing Futaba's voice declare war on the world.

"I'll make some coffee, just make sure someone is always on watch." Sojiro sighed.

"Master...please be careful…" Cinnamon whispered.

"Not you too, Cinnamon." Maple sighed.

Upstairs, Vanilla made sure to listen in on the four downstairs. She sighed, at least her older sisters knew that she and Coconuts had the intelligence to know something was off.

"Vanilla? Listening in is rude." Coconuts tried, timidly.

Vanilla didn't respond, she went over to her Master's old Tv and turned it on.

"Nilla-chan~ No slacking off! We have to please Master!~" Chocola huffed, stomping over only to get distracted easily by the TV.

"Whoa...the Phantom Thieves are so cool" Coconuts ignored her sister awestruck by the broadcast.

"Chocola doesn't understand, they use too many big words." Chocola frowned.

"Hmm…" Vanilla ignored Chocola once again.

Master wasn't here, her sisters wouldn't say anything concrete about what he was doing out during what was sure to be a chaotic night. And White couldn't have known something like this would happen, unless she was part of it.

And Cinnamon's little whisper didn't sit well either.

"Just what are you doing out there, Master? Please don't tell me…" Vanilla mumbled.

She barely knew anything about him...He was so mysterious, calm, and collected. He was gone for long periods of time, never telling her or her sisters what he was doing. His friends were much the same, to varying degrees. Vanilla narrowed her eyes.

"Hm. I'll figure it out. Master thinks he's so sly, but my master detective skills and womanly charm are unmatched." Vanilla huffed.

"Vanilla, are you saying something?" Coconut asked.

"Nilla is talking more than she does in a week. Tell Chocola what you are saying!" Chocola stomped.

"It is nothing. All green." Vanilla said simply.

The two other sisters looked at each other, and after a while shrugged. Vanilla's thoughts could be an enigma at times, nothing too out of the ordinary.

NANANANANANANANANANANA

Smallville, Kansas

Kara Zor-El sat in the great field watching the clouds fly by. It has been about three months since she landed on this planet. She was still reeling from the shock of learning the infant she was sent to protect is a fully grown man. She arrived three decades too late on a planet she hardly knew.

The existential dread of learning her home planet, her friends and family, were all destroyed. Mere asteroids floating around the sun. Kal was the only thing left of her race, besides her anyway.

The irony of the one she was supposed to raise, now trying to raise her...She took a deep breath, letting the wind flow through her hair. The setting yellow sun gave her a sense of calm, and anxiety. Over the past months the bright star gave her powers she could only dream of before, making her dangerous, unstable, a mere slap from her would decapitate a man.

At least, that was what the one Kal called "Batman" said. The mere thought of him gave her the creeps, how Kal and him became friends she'll never understand.

The only reason she's still not at the cold Fortress of Solitude in quarantine, was because Kal finally convinced him she wasn't her to kill them all. It was only then when her cousin was allowed to show her the world, train her powers, things people with decency would do.

She huffed, and to make matters worse, she was stuck here until Kal came back. She respected what he chose to become, a great deal actually...but she felt so alone in a sea of people without him. And now there are talks among the League she'll be sent with Wonder Woman for god knows how long.

At least that was what was told to her a couple of days ago. Kal said he needed her to stay with Martha today, like a lot of days recently. Something about an important meeting, that was all Kal would say really. He promised it had nothing to do with her, that was still being discussed.

Batman, despite his stubbornness, was being frustratingly hard to get a hold of. He was the one constantly telling her she can't be trusted, but he can't bother to actually give her a chance to prove herself?

Kara laid back in the grass, frustrated at the state of her life. She didn't really know what she wanted to do now. The Titans sounded nice, Superboy from their like one interaction, seemed understanding of everything being dropped on her. But she didn't even know if she wanted to be a hero, if she wanted that responsibility, or if she deserved to be such things to begin with…

"Kara?" Martha Kent called out.

Kara sighed and got up.

"Yes Mrs. Kent?" Kara answered.

"Dinner is ready hon." Martha said.

Kara walked over to the house with Kal's adoptive parent, at least she was kind enough.

"Any word from Kal?" Kara asked.

"Oh honey, you'd hear from him before I did with your keen hearing." Martha comforted.

"That's...true. I'm just so bored here, no offense." Kara sighed.

"*chuckles* None taken, dearie. Clark was just the same at your age. Why don't we turn on the old TV and eat together while we wait for him?" Martha offered.

"Ok…"

NANANANANANANANANANA

Kara and Martha had a peaceful dinner together, watching one of Martha's many dramas. Kara paid sparse attention as she ate. Her thoughts consumed her, as well as worry for Kal.

He really should have been back by now. He said he needed to work but…

"I-Isn't Kal off work by now?" Kara asked.

"Now that you mention it, yes. But reporting always did come with sudden calls to action, not to mention his...erm second job shall we say?" Martha smiled sweetly.

Kara wasn't really satisfied with that, something didn't feel right… Martha must have catched on.

"Lets...just turn the channel to the Daily Planet. I'm sure with either job we'll see him on screen somewhere." Martha gave Kara's hand a little squeeze as she flipped through the channels.

BOOM!

Kara gripped the table instinctively, her fingers piercing through the wood. She thanked her luck that Martha's hand was over her's instead of under.

"What was that?!" Kara asked, frightened.

"I...didn't hear anything sweetie." Martha said regaining herself from the shock of Kara's outburst. Tables could be replaced, the young lady looked pale.

But the TV glitched and stuttered wildly, Martha cringed at the loudness.

"Darn thing must be broken again" Martha huffed.

But that wasn't it...Kara saw a symbol she didn't know appear on screen.

"People of the world…" the television said in a distorted voice.

Kara shot up to her feet and shook at the message being played.

"Oh...oh dear…" Martha said as Wonder Woman's disappointed face appeared on screen.

"I...KAL! He must be in danger! Why else would he have been gone for so long?!" Kara yelled.

"Now...dearie. Clark can certainly handle himself in a fight. The arrest of Diana...I don't understand, she's such a sweetheart. Why would that boy allow such a thing?" Martha frowned.

"Do you know anything about these "Phantom Thieves"? Are they telling the truth? It's gotta be fake right?" Kara tried.

"Clark hasn't said anything I can recall. The news didn't say anything either, but we only get local and the Planet here." Martha said.

"I'm going up there." Kara huffed as she went to leave.

"KARA NO! Who knows what's up there! You barely have a grip on your powers! It isn't safe!" Martha chided.

"I can't just sit here and wait anymore! Wonder Woman was supposed to train me, but now all of a sudden she's a criminal?! I have to know why!" Kara exclaimed.

"Watch your tone, missy. I understand your frustration, but risking your life and the life of others on board is too much for my heart to take. Please sit down and let the League take care of it, surely it is nothing but lies. My boy wouldn't do something like that to a close friend. I raised him better!" Martha tried.

"Mrs. Martha...what would you do if you were me? Truthfully, what kind of person would I be if I didn't demand answers, or at least try to help as many people as I could?" Kara asked.

"I…" Martha hesitated.

"You raised Kal to be the champion of the world! And now some group is claiming he failed at that and are attacking the place that protects your planet. How could you just sit here?" Kara asked.

"Kara...you're just not ready. You can barely walk on my floorboards without leaving inch deep footprints." Martha said softly.

"I...I know. But I can't just let people say such things about my cousin. Not after everything he's done for this place,"

"*Sigh* You're so much like him, you know…" Martha sighed.

Kara smiled and hugged Martha, careful not to crush her elderly body.

"Runs in the family I guess." Kara left the house. Martha followed her outside, Kara took off at full force, sending a shockwave of wind blasting the surrounding every.

Martha coughed as she waved away the dust from her face.

"Just like back in the day. Wish you were here to help me with this Jon. Girl is even more thick-skulled than our boy." Martha shook her head sadly.

Gotham

Tim's Temporary Apartment

Rain

Red Robin sat on the floor and meditated, trying to clear his mind and calculate every option at his disposal. The Phantom Thieves must have some sort of trail to follow, some sort of lives outside of all of this. But for the life of him, Tim couldn't get the pattern down, and every lead he has is in danger of being lost. His Titan's covers are all but blown after tonight, even if the deserters didn't say a word, Batman would pull the plug soon. Anarky, King Tut, both would have to be completely rethought in terms of gathering intel. Not to mention they lost all the magic users except for Aqualad. And Kal was no expert in what they were trying to do, he only had his knowledge of water magic.

He still couldn't believe Raven's decision, after all that talk of terror and having to withhold her demonic powers, a simple pep talk from Donna was all she needed. He thought for a half second she used the lasso of persuasion on the girl, but Donna would never do that to her fellow Titans. Or was she so far gone to actually…

Tim shook his head. No...She wouldn't, obviously Donna's closeness to Raven won out.

Tim ran a hand through his hair, the clouds outside were darkening, night was coming. He didn't even have to change to go out on patrol, he wore the same uniform from last night's argument.

He grabbed his silenced comm, several missed chimes from Barbara. Tim sighed and prepared for a thorough dressing down. He was about to dial her, but then every billboard, TV, and phone outside blasted to life.

The Phantom Thieves...Those idiots!

His comm blasted to life. He answered.

"TIMOTHY JACKSON DRAKE WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN!?" Oracle screamed.

"Uhhh…" Tim gulped, for all of his intelligence he felt like the most stupid person alive in that moment.

The situation at hand was made abundantly clear. Tim let his intense focus get the better of him, and allowed the Phantom Thieves to run wild. Then as a final blow to the gut a pressure in the brain like Miss Martian's telepathy called out wildly.

"ALL HEROS! PROTOCOL NEST! WATCHTOWER UNDER ATTACK!" J'onn called desperately.

Shit….

"BARBARA STOP SCREAMING AT LISTEN TO ME!" Tim interrupted Barbara's rambling shrieks.

"WHAT?!" She roared.

"I fucked up. I know that, I own it. But we have thousands of crew members missing as well as important diplomats. You said the Batcomputer has full command of the tower again?" Tim asked.

"Yes. By some miracle. Alfred just gave me the word." Oracle huffed.

"Get Alfred on the line." Tim ordered.

Oracle mumbled and cursed but did so.

"Master Drake, I assume you finally heard the news?" Alfred asked sarcastically.

"YOU IDIOT! WERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Damian roared.

"Not now! I have an idea, there's no way all that data transference cannot be tracked. Patch me into the systems." Tim said as he furiously typed into his advanced computer.

"What are you doing Tim?! BRUCE NEEDS YOU UP THERE!" Oracle roared.

"No he needs me right down here. Think Barb. There was only one voice this time for the broadcast, and it wasn't Ryder. He must have used what little brains he had to sit this one out! Alibaba must have taken his place, which means she isn't up there. She's still on Earth and racking through all of our data. I'm going to track her down and force the Theive's hand." Tim explained.

"Tim, she's good. Maybe better than me! Plus, like you said there are thousands of innocents missing, and you're choosing to focus on her?!" Oracle yelled.

"Yes, because she is the one member I can reach that could know where they are." Tim retorted.

"...Ok. You're right...God damn it you're right! I'm getting flooded by the other Titan's calls, heroes too. I need to focus on the teleporting of them to the tower." Oracle said.

"Do that. Alfred, where's Cass?" Tim asked.

"Still at the hideout at Drescher I believe. Even more reluctant to answer a call." Alfred sighed.

"Robin, go get her." Tim ordered.

"LIKE HELL! SEND ME UP THERE AND LET ME-"

"DO YOU WANT TO WIN OR NOT?!" Tim roared at the boy silencing him.

"...Fine...You better be right about this." Robin hissed and rushed to his bike and took off.

"Alfred told the other Titans to report to me. This will not end in our failure." Tim ordered.

"Yes sir, right away." Alfred said.

Tim focused intensely on his computer, focusing on tracking down a massive stock of servers that could hold the sheer amount of the Watchtower's data. He sweated as the computer worked to triangulate the location, he had multiple possible locations pop up. He was quick to eliminate all public buildings, libraries, and police stations.

But it wasn't enough. There were too many places that could be possible hideouts, the same problem as before. Tim slammed his fists on his desk in anger. He didn't have time for this!

He tried to think, what would Bruce do as a contingency for all of this. With that line of thinking he refocused on finding a unique frequency to track. Bruce wouldn't just allow files like this to be taken without them crying for help. Alerts were surely set up for them to call home and bring the location. The question is was Alibaba good enough to bypass those alerts?

Tim typed with renewed vigor, searching for pings to the Batcomputer or Watchtower. He used his little access to the Batcomputer to find a little ping. No, several, thousands of pings. The pings were signaling all over the city. The thousands of signals for top secret files were all trying to call home at once. Alibaba was very good to be that fast with her hacking, some alerts were coming from the Watchtower itself.

But, the more and more encrypted the file was, the longer the alerts had to track down the place they're going. As good as Alibaba is, this is clearly a rushed job. A pattern formed circles all around Gotham, creating a map of all the places it couldn't be. And with that created a barren spot on the Gotham map. A dozen blocks of empty space barren of pings.

And within a blink of an eye it was covered, Tim smirked. Alibaba caught wise, trying to cover her tracks, but the damage was done.

"Port Adams...never would have thought to look there. Clever." Tim admitted.

He contacted every Titan to report, the place was most likely protected. But with Joker focusing all his energy on the Watchtower, it can't be impossible to break through and get the hacker.

Even with all Joker's forces, planning, and trickery; he left a weak spot open.

Tim rushed to his motorbike and sped off towards his location, determined to bring this now world threatening group down. Mere hours after they made that threat.

AN: If this "bonus" chapter winds up being the longest in terms of word count, I swear to the lord above… Worth it though. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Pushing out three chapters in a month has been very taxing, I'm not sure I'm going to make it out of the month finishing this arc. Ah well…

Next chapter is coming soonish. See you guys later.
