Thank you for all your reviews and encouragement! :D

I am glad you were there with me through it!

I wanted to show the world's reaction and changes to the OP world after how the war ended, and I thought our beloved fan would do the trick! He is fun character to write!

Yeah, just imagine in the midst of the battle, and Heyy… isn't the Yamato… oh, Ace… What are you doing here?

Ace telling pops, Pops in the middle of clashing with Kiado: this Yamato I been telling you about.

Yamato : No, I am oden.

And WB:

I leave it to your imagination! LOL

Poor, poor Beckman.. he is busy questioning his life choices.

Yeah, I wondered if I should mention BM and Kiado or not, but yeah, I wanted to show the reaction and to leave the option open if I wanted to add any more things.

The meat popsicle had to be mentioned! And one had to be made or else Luffy would be cross with me.

"our lord and savior Buggy D. Clown is revealed to be still among us just as it was foretold"

XD

I just had to add him one last time! He is too fun to really kill off.

It was a last-minute addition, Oden and Roger watching over them- while having the time of their 'life' as very dead people.

We don't know much about Imu, but we know is that he approves or even vital to kill anyone that came in the way of his plans or the order of the world, so, yeah, those five are not doing their job so *shrug* bye bye.

XD

Yeah, after talking about it, I tried imagining it, and decided against writing a full scene, but as I am a tease, to write a teasing scene! :D

Thank you so much! As this was my first FF ever sharing. It's bittersweet and it would hold a special place in my heart! Really appreciate all the love and support. Thank you.

Hope you enjoy Marine!Lina final chapter. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts…

Thank you for all the help, reviews, inspiration, and support! :D

A Bartolomeo is a reflective mirror to our life!

"Yamato got free (stuck it in her dad's eye), or one where post-fall of the Celestial Dragons, it is learned why two of the Elders were killed regarding Kizaru, and everyone assuming it was ANOTHER of Lina's master plans!"

Oh come on…. Now I want to read those both! You can't do this to me! Write! WRITE! WRITE!

LOL… imagine Sengoku receiving the report about Shanks's fans LOL

Yeah, Benny is having a middle life crisis (identity, life choices, why me GODA) instead of the normal middle life crisis he should have.

Of course, we will make them suffer! That's all the fun with those two! XD

The revenge was inspired thanks to you! :D

Where else would they get this much money? They are pirates! So stealing is the first impression. I thought about the scene where they catch Lina and accuse her of stealing the money as the main offense, and she just takes out tons of receipts and lets them drown in paperwork while she and Garp munch on rice crackers!

"it is his OBLIGATION to set the record straight!"

Damn straight it is! Sabo is the eldest! Wait until Ace hears about it! XD

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I had put each and everyone under integration in the deadliest kind, and I can say in 1000% the problem from your side. Did you send them? Did you? Look me in the face and tell me! Don't blink!

Thank you so much for all the support and help so far! I am a greedy, greedy person so hoping for more as we go, partner!

Lina remembered how she had had the Great Idea of being 'prepared.'

It was a wonderful idea.

A perfect one.

Get ready for your brother, I thought. You can make a plan, I thought. It will be simple, I thought.

Lina knew she had been away from Luffy for too long if she had started to think she could come up with neat plans that accounted for him.

The Navy ships were gathering outside, just starting to arrive after the scouting was finished (she had been sent to deliver another message, that they were going to have to go slow because there was an unknown number of Whitebeard affiliated ships out there) and at that point, there had been no word of Luffy. Yet.

No word and she had been on the edge of her seat.

Had been mentally screaming and trying to figure out something, anything she could do.

That was when she heard the first report of an unknown person knocking out the Blugori of level one, and a prison break.

Lina just really, really needed to ask her brother how in the name of the ninth Kraken tentacles he had snuck into the impregnable fortress known as Hell On Earth, AKA Impel Down, as far as she knew he didn't have anything resembling that sort of stealth or ability to plan and—

Wasn't the time to worry about that, she needed to figure out what she could do to help.

Redirecting orders worked before, Lina thought to herself. And then she had another thought, I could try for Bon-chan now.

He had helped Luffy once. Bon-chan had told her about his meeting with her brother and their undying friendship when she had been on the ship that had taken him here in the first place.

Maybe she could convince him to help Luffy again.

She disliked having to throw away her plans, but all her ideas had involved trying to get Luffy in and talking to him, and now her brother was already inside so it was time to, of all horrors of horrors, improvise.

The thing about a place like Impel Down, Lina knew, was that it depended on order to keep the holes in the net closed, and when that order started to break down?

Well, then anything could happen.

Like, for instance, one marine volunteering herself to go down and help out on level three, because they needed so much help down there and she was just being a good marine, just helping out, giving a hand, trying to outsmart the 'enemy,' be independent… she had no choice really! You know, 'cause of all the chaos the intruder had left behind him.

She had heard the announcement that the other marines were staying up top because it was the pride of Impel Down to prevent people from escaping, but she had volunteered earlier to help inside and so she was even helping them protect their pride by changing into a uniform she had borrowed (it was just laying around, and she was helping her fellow wardens not mistake her for prisoner, 'cause she was totally on their side!) all because she wanted to help them protect their pride.

Totally.

Well, she was low key betraying the marines right now, so that wasn't true at all, but it made a fun lie, and with the alarm bells ringing and the troops running everywhere it wasn't hard to just hitch the ride she needed, she thought, mind spinning.

It was easier to move in the chaos that Luffy had created. Easy to be one of the many guards running out of breath, well just the other guards were out of breath, she had been trained by Garp and had higher standards than that.

So she ran.

And she couldn't find him.

The situation was getting worse and she couldn't find Luffy and she couldn't find Bon-chan, the third level was a riot, and there were rumors of combat on the fourth but communication was fucked up and—

And she still didn't know where Ace was.

What if I missed it? What if he is already on a ship out of here to Marineford, to his executi…before I could even do anything or

She might have done that. A quick ship, no fanfare, no warning. Decoy for latter.

What if—

It didn't matter.

Luffy was here and Luffy was fighting so she would fight as well. Even if the only thing she could do was get Luffy out.

With the group she had joined, she discovered every level was worse in person than she expected.

The blades of grass like knives, the blood, the screams.

Second floor. That was where the wild beasts were. And the riots, because Luffy had released all the giant animals.

It reminded her of home.

Except for the fact that, you know, her home wasn't in prison.

And there weren't giant riots.

"Let's split", the commander was saying, and technically Lina wasn't with that group, but the prisoners were loose, and it wasn't like he had counted on her in the first place.

So they divided.

So she kept running. Deeper and deeper down the staircase as the group moved with her.

Lina saw the squad leader's face fall. Apparently, the Minotarus had been defeated by the intruders. Lina would have bet Luffy's meat, and that meant that she was very sure because that was not something she would bet if she didn't think she would win, that it had been Luffy that had won.

She just had to figure out how to get reassigned.

Or-

Or-

Think! Think!

This was the stupidest thing she had ever followed Luffy into and growing up she had followed Luffy into a lot of stupid situations.

She could fight them, she knew, but if she fought them there would be a gap or a warning and there was no riot on this level like there was on level two which meant-

The leaders were squawking again, apparently, the Minotarus had fallen off the ledge on the third level and they were assigned to search the fourth.

That was something.

Of course. Now she was looking for a cow man on the fourth floor in boiling blood hell and she couldn't do anything to actually help Luffy that would actually help and Magellan, the poison man, one of the most dangerous gatekeepers was fighting her brother and—

And—

And suddenly there was a call on the den-den asking for guards to help with disposal.

Luffy was—

Luffy was—

Everyone was cringing. "Corrosive poison," they muttered. They didn't want to go near either of them.

Lina didn't care.

Her world was cold, and Luffy wasn't dead or dying because he couldn't be dead or dying. She wouldn't allow it.

She would go and Luffy wouldn't be dead.

Two other people were forcibly volunteered to go with her. It was like the world had gone calm and still.

Clear.

Her brother was there. On the floor.

It was wrong.

Everything was wrong.

He was there and she could smell dissolving flesh and—

She needed Magellan gone.

He didn't seem interested in Luffy anymore.

She wanted the warden dead more than she'd ever wanted anyone in her life dead, anyone since the man who murdered Sabo, because her brother was on the ground dying and she needed to save her other brother who was floors below and she was—

"We'll take care of him, sir," she said, taking everything and burying it deep.

The others flinched away, but it was all Lina could do not to hold him too close. Magellan had ordered imprisonment and body disposal but all that mattered was that she could get Luffy away from him.

And then she was holding her brother close, she was heading down with the other guards.

And there were only a few of them. Eyesores. She needed them gone.

Before Lina knew it they were down.

"Luffy, Luffy," she called, her world narrowed down her brother in her arms and-

"Lina", he was murmuring weakly, unaware. "Don't worry, I'll save Ace."

Lina wanted to scoff and she wanted to try and—

"I'll save both of you," was what came out.

She had a winter wonderland and a dying brother and a brother who was down below and—

And—

And—

And there were wolves and she wasn't hiding anything but it didn't matter because she had hid so much and she had played it so safe and it didn't matter because—

Because—

Because a ragged man in ripped pants was trying to kick her away from her brother.

He was lucky she remembered Bon-chan before she broke his neck.

Then Luffy was trying to move in front of her even though he couldn't stand and—

Bon-chan's eyes were wide. "Get away from my friend," he shouted as he barreled right towards her.

"Get away from my brother," she snarled, catching his leg and throwing him. She braced for another blow as he whirled around and—

Cried. He was actually crying. Like. Bursting out Crying.

What.

She couldn't quite make out the words, but it seemed to be an apology for not realizing that she was Luffy's sister sooner when they were both on the ship, which was something he should apologize for but they didn't have time now and—

Do not punch again, she reminded herself, he probably didn't have enough brains to spare.

"Do you know where we can get help, an infirmary, anything, now!" She had a person she could use now, but if they didn't have anything useful then—

—and she had heardMagellan'spoisons were incurable and—

Bon-chan was still spinning in place and—

"You'd need a miracle, girle," one of the prisoners still in their cells yelled, and Lina couldn't take it, but she didn't have time to beat the sanity into of this man and—

She started walking.

There was a hand on her shoulder.

It was only luck she realized it was Bon-chan in time. "What!?" she snarled.

"The Miracle Worker, the Queen of Okamas, Ivankov-sama herself. She who has performed Miracles," Bon-chan shouted and she could hear the capitals.

"And is she here?"

"She should be, I was hoping to find my goddess here, if we can make it I know we can save Luffy."

It was hope. It was wild and reckless and a miracle and Lina didn't believe in Miracles, but it was Luffy and if a Miracle would happen for anyone it would happen for him and she needed a miracle because he was groaning and shaking in her arms and she couldn't—

"What level," Lina demanded.

"She's here, I know she must be here somewhere," Bon-chan said, "We must find the queen."

Lina bit her lip.

They kept walking.

It was cold. So cold. She could see Bon-chan was shivering in his pants and Luffy's skin was getting colder and colder and—

And Lina knew she was as well.

She hadn't had the chance to steal a warm uniform.

She kept walking.

Bon-chan was shaking.

I could leave him. Lina knew she could.

But.

He knows about Ivankov.

But.

I left him once before.

He's Luffy's friend.

Lina hated feeling guilty. It made everything much harder.

She threw Bon's arm over her shoulder.

"Lina-chan, I am—"

She cut him off, "I wouldn't be much of a friend if I left you."

He burst out crying. Somehow.

They kept going.

He leaned on her shoulder more and more. Her arms screamed but she couldn't drop either of them.

Not yet at least.

The winds swirled around them and Lina narrowed her eyes.

Then she thought she was dreaming. Because she heard music. Because there was a boulder that had shifted aside and a tunnel leading down and a person with a duel-colored outfit.

"Who are you!", Lina demanded, taking the initiative.

"The Lady wishes to welcome you".

"What Lady?"

"The one you've been looking for".

"Ivankov?"

He nodded.

It was a gamble.

Lina was always good at knowing what risks to take.

She followed.

It definitely felt like she was dreaming as she walked in, carrying two people, wind-blown hair and clothes torn up from the way down.

She needed to talk to Ivankov.

She needed to talk to Ivankov and Ivankov would cure Luffy and then they would go find Ace and get out.

It was a plan.

It was a plan.

It was her plan and it was going to succeed.

There were musicians on stage. Everyone was staring.

She didn't care.

She could see who was in charge. Watch how everyone was focused on her.

"Fix him!" she demanded. "Please," she added, knowing it sounded like she was begging and not caring.

Her ears were ringing. Her arms were burning.

For the first time, she remembered the acidic poison on Luffy's skin.

The frostbite.

She pushed it away.

Ivankov was watching her.

"Save them," she demanded.

The queen's gaze sharpened, "Miracles don't come for free honey, not even mine."

Lina narrowed her eyes, "What do I have to pay?"

"Well, you all were most inspiring on your way down, we were watching you know, quiet the scene as they headed down, it brought tears to our eyes."

"Is that enough?"

"It will cost Luffy ten years of his life, and that's if my cure works. I don't create miracles, I create the opportunity, Luffy will have to seize it on its own."

"Save him."

If there was a chance then Luffy would grasp it, and he would survive.

He wouldn't be Luffy otherwise.

They chained him down.

His scream would live on in her nightmares for the rest of her life.

She couldn't leave him.

Then there was only one thing she could do.

Plan.

Ivankov said that Luffy's treatment would take two days. Ace's execution was in twenty-three hours. The convey was going to transport him close to the deadline, to minimize time outside out Impel Down, and, because, apparently it had been delayed.

I wonder how that happened.

Ivankov said she wouldn't do anything to reveal her paradise, which was fair, Lina understood that.

If it came down to that, Lina would.

"You'd better wake up soon", Lina told Luffy, gripping his hand tight, "I'll get everything ready, and then we can go in there together and save Ace".

She just needed to prep a way down to the hidden sixth level and prep a way out for the three of them.

She had more information now, and she didn't have to pretend to be a marine or a guard.

Yeah, she knows she is/was a marine, but that was history the second they touched her brother. What the hell was she thinking joining the marines in the first pla—

She cut that thread of thought. She would have lots of time on her hands to ponder her life choices after she, Luffy, and Ace were safe, and far, far away from here.

But at least now she could stop keeping one facade.

That was something.

There was no real way to hide if they freed Ace, Ivankov could maybe make a body double, but there was a den den camera on Ace and Luffy had just come through yelling that he was going to save Ace so-

Maybe through?

If the den-den and the guards were distracted then…

But Luffy would be there, and Luffy couldn't do subtlety if it hit him in the face, or maybe he could, because then he could hit it back, but he wasn't sneaky in the right way.

When he woke up it would be straightforward.

As soon as she got Ace out they would have to move.

If she had more time then she could have saved Ace before Luffy went up but then Luffy would have to make the climb up like that and-

She really wanted to kill Magellan.

He had moved to the top of her to-kill list. Yes, she had one. (Wanna guess who's on it?)

It was a great honor.

There was another noise of pain.

Lina grit her teeth.

If they couldn't go quietly, then they could go loudly.

Invankov had mentioned that they had demoned away some other useful people, a 'Great Buggy-sama' and a 'Mr. Three' who could make keys out of wax.

She had used riots to get down.

She needed more than a riot, she needed a mass escape.

She needed a show, she needed the Okama's hidden tunnels.

(She needed her brothers, because she had lost one, watched one sail away, and left the other and this was where it had brought her and if only she had been better then—

The first wasn't her fault, and nor was the second, but she had left Luffy behind and chosen to become a marine and this was where it led her and—

This wouldn't be where it ended, Lina wouldn't allow it to be)

Bon-chan had found out about Luffy being treated.

He was cheering Luffy on.

She would take it.

She had her own trick though, after all, she knew her brother, and she knew the best incentive.

"Luffy", Lina said, and saw his eyes open a crack, felt more than saw her twin listening to her, "if you survive this, I'll join your crew."

It wasn't even that hard to promise.

Hours passed, she kept trying to get information and help.

"We can not leave yet", Ivankov repeated.

"Why?'"

"We must wait for Dragon the Revolutionary. My companion, the—"

"You mean my deadbeat dad?".

"Yes, your deadbeat dad," Ivankov said before her jaw dropped. It was impressive. And a lot of a jaw to drop. Ivakov had a really big head, "Your DAD!?"

"Dragon is my dad," he wasn't a very present one, but he was the biological father at least.

Apparently she had broken Ivankov's brain.

Then Luffy went quiet as blood spurted everywhere, and the quiet was so much worse than the moans of before.

Then.

Then.

"FOOD!" Luffy shouted and Lina felt something in her chest unlock as everyone around stared on in shock and Ivankov's jaw dropped. Again.

"Well, you heard my brother, get him food", Lina watched as the candies, as Ivankov called them, of New Kama Land got to appreciate Luffy's appetite for the first time.

It was always a joy to watch people not believe her, then slowly start to understand the true size of Luffy's appetite.

He had missed meals as well, which made it even worse.

Dish after dish came into Luffy's rubber reach, and Lina got to watch as each one was devoured as the people stared at him in awe.

The awe was good, because he deserved it, but also because she could use it.

"Where are you from?" Ivankov demanded after Luffy had consumed about half of what Lina knew Luffy could put away, minimum.

"East Blue."

Ivankov's eyes started twitching.

Then suddenly, she decided to help them. Lina wasn't complaining, no matter how dramatic Ivankov was about it she had still built, and Lina could respect as, 'a slice of heaven out of hell', knew how to get things done in quiet.

Then she had minions. Lina liked having minions, it made her life so much easier when she had people who would listen to her and do what needed to be done. Unlike her brothers, who never listened or did what she asked.

Lina knew the moment Luffy really registered her presence. "Lina!" he shouted as the rubbery arms snaked around her in a familiar hug. "When did you get here?"

"I've been here the whole time."

He just laughed at that, before snapping back to serious, "Ace! I need to save Ace!"

"I'm helping you know!"

"Lina," he said, and Lina needed to know what happened because Luffy was worried and—

And then suddenly she was looking up from the floor, and one of the interchangeable okama was explaining to her that she had collapsed.

Luffy had as well.

"You need to rest," Ivankov said.

"Or you could fix us," Lina demanded. "You cured Luffy, there has to be a hormone to give us a boost!"

Luffy was already up.

Lina wasn't going to let herself get left behind.

Ivankov didn't protest again.

Instead she stabbed both of them with her claws and Lina felt the energy jolting through her.

"Lina—" Luffy started again, but she interrupted.

"We're saving Ace together, and that's that. You're not my captain yet."

"You'll join my crew?!"

"After we save Ace."

That was all it took for Luffy to get going. Luckily Lina had assumed that the moment Luffy had the opportunity he was going to move and had worked with Iva in the time he was passed out, and in the moments they were railing.

Luffy led the first part of their group down to the sixth level while Lina put the last few things in place, there were wax keys to be prepared, den-dens to be misdirected, and some other fun surprises as well, like the main elevator having a number of 'mechanical failures.'

The sixth level was dark and normal in the worst of ways, with none of the tournaments of the upper levels. It was different. For a start, there were very few cells, and the prisoners inside were quietly watching... Lina had felt a shiver run down her spine that she stubbornly ignored. Her busy brain still noted the seastone filling the place from the bit of sluggishness in Luffy's form.

Lina didn't care about any of it.

She just cared about the paper in Luffy's hand, pointing forward until they rounded a corner.

Then Ace.

Ace was looking at them, eyes wide and angry and she could tell he was about to shout, start one of his rants about how they shouldn't have come down and he wasn't worth that.

Lina didn't care. She had thrown away the idea of becoming a Marine, of her independence for him, for Luffy, because they were hers and she loved them.

"Shut up!" she snarled, and she saw Ace's eyes widen as she shouted, "we came because we love you, and we are going to get out together!"

Luffy just yelled Ace.

She suspected it had the same effect.

That was good.

They hastily made a key for the prison and chains and then they were hugging and for the first time since she had watched Ace sail away, she had in her arms both the brothers she could still protect.

She had Luffy. She had Ace.

They were going to steal a ship and start a riot.

They had the whole of Impel Down to get back up through. Magellgan was a floor up with the group of people coming to transport Ace.

They would have to deal with him.

But she had her brothers and she had a plan, and for the first time since she had heard the news about Ace's execution, she knew things were going to be okay.
