Brie and Elena were in their motel room next door to The Winchester's. Brie was on her phone texting Caroline. "Care says hey" Brie says looking up from her phone.

"Tell her I miss her" Elena says looking up from her book. "So you heard from Damon?"

"Yeah, he phoned yesterday when you were in the restaurant. Keeps asking me where you are. Wants me to bring you back to Mystic Falls by the end of the week. If not then he's going to get a witch to do a locator spell and he's going to drag you back there himself" Brie explained.

Elena huffs and closed her book shut. "He acts like I'm a baby. All he wants to do is watch over me all the time. Making sure he's there if I need saving. Im not some damsel who needs saving all the time. I left Mystic Falls to get away from all that"

Brie nods her head "I know Elena. I tried telling him you need time but you know what Damon is like always has to be difficult. He needs to realise that he can't protect you all the time. There is always gonna be some sort of danger a head of us. I mean we went from leaving danger behind us to facing it straight on with Dean and Sam. Should we just go back to Mystic Falls?"

Elena shakes her head "No, Damon does not control me and certainly not you. We should make our own decisions and I am making mine right now. I am not going back to Mystic Falls, not anytime soon anyways but I might in the future but right now no. We maybe made the mistake of making the offer to go with Sam and Dean. But you know what, its been fun. And i don't wanna leave it all behind. Saving people. I like saving people rather people saving me. You can go back to Mystic Falls but I certainly am not"

Brie smiles at her friend, she's glad she is sticking up for herself. "You just need to tell that to Damon"

Elena groans "Damon can wait. He can't control my life. Not anymore. He's an ex boyfriend for a reason"

Sam is inside working on his laptop while Dean is going through his clothing.

"So there's the three drowning victims this year" Sam says while still looking at the screen.

"Any before that?" Dean asks while folding his clothes.

Sam nods his head "Uh, yeah" Sam has a browser window open to The Lake Manitoc Tribune. He clicks, and another browser window comes up, again the Tribune. "Six more spread out over the past thirty-five years. Those bodies were never recovered either. If there is something out there, it's picking up its pace"

Dean tosses an item of clothing onto a bed "So, what, we got a lake monster on a binge?"

"This whole lake monster theory, it, it just bugs me"

Dean comes over to read over Sam's shoulder. "Why?"

"Loch Ness, uh, Lake Champlain, there are literally hundreds of eyewitness accounts, but here, almost nothing" Sam looks at the Tribune homepage. "Whatever it is out there, no one's living to talk about it" Sam scrolls to the comments section of an article.

Dean points at it "Wait, Barr, Christopher Barr. Where have I heard that name before?"

Sam reads from the page "Christopher Barr, the victim in May" Sam clicks a link, opening a new page which says Man In Tragic Accident. The picture loads: it shows a police officer with Lucas "Oh. Christopher Barr was Andrea's husband, Lucas's father. Apparently he took Lucas out swimming. Lucas was on a floating wooden platform when Chris drowned. Two hours before the kid got rescued" Sam clicks the picture for a better look, then scratches his head "Maybe we have an eyewitness after all"

"No wonder that kid was so freaked out. Watching one of your parents die isn't something you just get over"

Elena and Brie walks into the room as Dean and Sam look up from the laptop screen. "So did you's find anything?" Brie asks as she sits down on Dean's bed.

"Andrea's husband drowned in the lake. We think that's why Lucas was so freaked out back there." Dean says as he walked up to the bed and pulls his top from underneath Brie.

Brie topples a bit and looks up at Dean "You could of asked for me to move you know"

Dean looks down at her "What's the fun in that" he smirks as he put his top over the chair along with his jeans and a jacket.

Elena rolls her eyes as she takes a seat next to Sam "You think theres something going on between them?" Elena whispers to Sam.

Sam looks up from the screen and looks over at Brie and Dean who are now doing their down thing "Do you think so?" Sam whispers back.

Elena shrugs her shoulders "Dunno, just seem to be flirty with each other. Well more so your brother is flirty. Think Brie is just humouring him"

Sam felt a twinge of jealously when Elena asked him about Brie and Dean. He shouldn't feel like that, he's only knowing Brie for a few weeks and also his ex girlfriend just died not long before that. He needed time to get over Jessica's death but was Brie the person who could help him move on? "Yeah maybe. Dean is the flirting type. He would flirt with a brick wall if he wanted"

Elena laughs slightly "Yeah I could tell from the waitress at the restaurant and Haley back in Blackwater. He doesn't seem the lets go steady type. Guess he loves the attention too much"

Sam agrees "Yeah he's not into the whole relationship thing. Think he's scared of whole committing to one women, when they're millions of women out there. He'll be scared incase he miss out on all the fun he imagines himself having"

Before Elena could answer, Brie yells from across the room "Think they are talking about us Dean" Brie smiles at the two at the laptop.

Dean looks over and notices Elena and Sam acting all suspicious. "It's rude to whisper you know"

"We aren't talking about you guys" Elena lies, "Dean's ears would be burning otherwise" Elena looks at Dean "Are they burning Dean?"

Dean raises an eyebrow as he looks at Brie who just shrugs her shoulders. He feels his ears to see if they are hot. "They feel alright"

Elena looks at Brie "See told you"

Brie looks at her like she doesn't believe her. She stands up and walks towards them "Fine, so what were you's talking about?" She stood in front of them, with her arms folded.

Elena and Sam looked at each other. "Just seeing how Sam is feeling about his girlfriend" Sam looked at Elena again "Ex girlfriend" she corrected.

Brie unfolded her arms, she felt bad for not believing them "Oh, I'm sorry"

Sam could see she felt bad about the situation which made him feel worse that they lied to her. He stands up, "Don't feel bad. Its fine. Elena was just trying to cheer me up" he says trying to keep up with the lie.

"I just feel like a jerk now. I didn't mean to impose on your guys's chat. I just thought I'd make a joke on the matter but I didn't know you's were talking about Jessica"

Sam rubs her arm "Honestly don't. You didn't know" Brie nods and walks back to Dean's bed to sit back down.

"You wanna sit back down on my top so I can feel your ass when I try to get the top back out from underneath you?" Dean says, trying to make light of the situation.

Brie looks up and smiles as Sam rolls his eyes at his brother.

The next day. Kids are laughing and playing. Andrea sits on a bench and watches Lucas, who is at another bench coloring and playing with toy soldiers. "Can we join you?" Andrea looks up. Sam and Dean are there.

"I'm here with my son" Dean looks over at Lucas "Oh. Mind if I say hi?" Dean goes over to Lucas.

"Tell your friend this whole Jerry Maguire thing is not gonna work on me"

Sam sits next to Andrea "I don't think that's what this is about"

Dean approaches Lucas "How's it going?" Dean kneels down next to the bench where Lucas is coloring; when Lucas doesn't even look up, Dean picks up one of the toy soldiers. "Oh, I used to love these things" Dean imitates guns and explosions, then tosses the toy soldier down "So crayons is more your thing? That's cool. Chicks dig artists" Lucas has a pile of drawings on the bench. Dean takes a look. The top one is of a big black swirl and the second one is of a red bicycle.

"Hey, these are pretty good. You mind if I sit and draw with you for a while?" Dean picks up a crayon "I'm not so bad myself" Dean sits on the bench, picks up a pad of paper, and starts drawing "You know, I'm thinking you can hear me, you just don't want to talk. I don't know exactly what happened to your dad, but I know it was something real bad. I think I know how you feel. When I was your age, I saw something" he pauses for a second "Anyway. Well, maybe you don't think anyone will listen to you, or, uh...or believe you. I want you to know that I will. You don't even have to say anything. You could draw me a picture about what you saw that day, with your dad, on the lake. Okay, no problem. This is for you" Dean holds out to LUCAS the picture he drew. It's stick figures

"This is my family" Dean points at each person in turn "That's my dad. That's my mom. That's my geek brother, and that's me. All right, so I'm a sucky artist. I'll see you around, Lucas" Dean heads back to Sam and Andrea. Lucas picks up the picture.

"Lucas hasn't said a word, not even to me. Not since his dad's accident" Andrea says as she watches Dean walk towards them.

Dean apologises but Andrea just nods.

"What are the Doctors saying?" Sam asks.

"That it's a kind of post-traumatic stress"

"That can't be easy. For either of you"

"We moved in with my dad. He helps out a lot. It's just when I think about what Lucas went through, what he saw"

"Kids are strong. You'd be surprised what they can deal with"

Lucas leaves the bench, heading for the group. "You know, he used to have such life. He was hard to keep up with, to tell you the truth. Now he just sits there. Drawing those pictures, playing with those army men. I just wish" Lucas walks up, carrying a picture "Hey sweetie" Lucas hands Dean the picture.

"Thanks. Thanks, Lucas. It's a picture of the Carlton house" Lucas heads back to the bench.

Dean and Sam are back inside the motel room sitting on a bed. Brie and Elena open the door and walks in "So, I think it's safe to say we can rule out Nessie"

Dean looks up "What do you mean?" Brie sits next to Dean. "We just drove past the Carlton house. There was an ambulance there. Will Carlton is dead"

"Wait hold on a moment?" Dean looks between Brie and Elena. "You took my baby?"

Brie and Elena look at each other. "Well you and Sam were away to talk to Andrea, so we thought we would drive around for a bit"

"You…" Dean begins "You thought you would drive around in my baby?" Dean says before rushing out the room to have a look if theres any damage on his car.

"What a drama queen" Brie rolls her eyes.

Sam changes the subject "So Will drowned?

Elena nods "Yep. In the sink"

"What the hell? So Dean's right, this isn't a creature. We're dealing with something else"

Brie nods "I guess so, but what?"

Dean walks back into the room, looking relived that there wasn't a scratch on his car "I don't know. Water wraith, maybe? Some kind of demon? I mean, something that controls water, water that comes from the Same source"

"The lake" Elena says.

"Yeah" Sam nods "Which would explain why it's upping the body count. The lake is draining. It'll be dry in a few months. Whatever this thing is, whatever it wants, it's running out of time"

"And if it can get through the pipes, it can get to anyone, almost anywhere" Dean stands up. "This is gonna happen again soon" Dean sits down on a chair.

"And we do know one other thing for sure. We know this has got something to do with Bill Carlton"

Dean nods his head "Yeah, it took both his kids"

"And I've been asking around. Lucas's dad, Chris-Bill Carlton's godson.

Dean stands up from the chair "Let's go pay Mr. Carlton a visit" Elena and Sam leave the motel room, Brie walks towards the door only to be pulled back by Dean. "Take my car again without permission, I'll drown you in the water and make it look like an accident"

Brie eyes widened "Really gonna take it that far cause I took your car"

Dean points his finger at her "No one touches baby but me"

"Your not really cutting the Patrick Swayze vibe" Brie says before walking out the door. Dean grunts before leaving the room.

Bill Carlton is sitting on the bench on the dock. Sam "Mr. Carlton?" Bill looks up as Sam and Dean approach "We'd like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind"

"I've answered enough questions today" Bill says staring at the lake.

"Your son said he saw something in that lake. What about you? You ever see anything out there? Mr. Carlton, Sophie's drowning and Will's death we think there might be a connection to you or your family"

"My children are gone. It's worse than dying. Go away. Please" Bill pleaded as Sam and Dean head back to the car.

"What do you think?"

"Aw, I think the poor guy's been through hell. I also think he's not telling us something"

Sam leans on the Impala "So now what?" Dean goes still "What is it?"

"Huh" Dean is looking at the Carlton house "Maybe Bill's not the only one who knows something" Dean pulls out the picture Lucas brought him, which is of the Carlton house.

Sam, Brie, Elena and Dean are inside Andrea's house, talking to her "Can we talk to Lucas. Just for a few minutes

Andrea shakes her head "He won't say anything. What good's it gonna do?"

"Andrea, we think more people might get hurt. We think something's happening out there"

"My husband, the others, they just drowned. That's all"

"If that's what you really believe, then we'll go. But if you think there's even a possibility that something else could be going on here, please let me talk to your son" Upstairs Lucas is coloring, toy soldiers standing around him. Dean, Brie, Andrea, Elena, and Sam approach the doorway.

Dean enters and crouches down by Lucas Hey, Lucas. You remember me?" Lucas has drawn two more pictures of a red bicycle "You know, I, uh, I wanted to thank you for that last drawing. But the thing is, I need your help again"

Lucas is drawing a person in water. Dean opens the house picture and puts it down in front of Lucas "How did you know to draw this? Did you know something bad was gonna happen? Maybe you could nod yes or no for me"

Lucas keeps colouring "You're scared. It's okay. I understand. See, when I was your age, I saw something real bad happen to my mom, and I was scared, too. I didn't feel like talking, just like you. But see, my mom I know she wanted me to be brave. I think about that every day. And I do my best to be brave. And maybe, your dad wants you to be brave too" Lucas drops his crayon and looks up at Dean. He hands Dean a picture of a white church, a yellow house, and a boy with a blue baseball cap and red bicycle in front of a wooden fence. "Thanks, Lucas"
