Miss Queen B: Hello all you Wonderful Readers and welcome back for another MBQ's story. I'll make this quick and go straight to the notes:
Note One: Before anything else, I want to thank everyone for their reviews on "Tsunami" and "Mist" I'm glad to see the final two parts of the "Water Series" ended with great results. I'm happy to be done with it as well so I can focus on the "Color Series" now. Which brings up to this little lovely tale. What can I say about "Pink Petals?" It's has it's moments of sadness, humor, a touch of romance, but mostly sugary sweet. I figure after grim endings from "Tsunami" and "Mist" a little Pick-me-upper was in order.
Note Two: I have to say, the chapter was a little tricky to write due to a lot of OC characters. Something I had a hard time doing as well when I was writing about Gojira's early years and living around his old Pack. There were a lot of side characters that it was hard for me to keep up with it. Same thing goes here since we're getting a deeper look into my OC character Persephone and her Herd. I did my best, so I hope you like all the side characters.
Note Three: Aww, yes, Persephone, probably the most talked about OC Character next to Azure and I'm so happy Readers loved her enough to want me to bring her back. Till this day it still amazes me how far she's gotten from a small mention in "Redrum" to a full background story about her in "Midnight Black" till now having her own story. If you need a refresher on the character please read the first chapter of "Midnight Black" before getting started on this story.
Note Four: So about this chapter: This takes place before the "Big Sleep" so it's not really a flashback fic. We begin with Gojira having a sparring match with Methuselah while Mosura keeps Meth's girlfriend company (can you guess who she is?). Meth ask Mosura for a favor in which to travel down to his old Friend's Herd to speak to a Princess in distress. After a horrible scandal, the Princess is left fragile with a tarnish image due to ugly rumors and another rejection. Can Mosura be the key to help the Princess out of her Dark World?
This story is Dedicated to:
Mew1157 and Shadowblade217
Thank you Mew for all your drawings and giving Persephone a face.
Thank you Shadow for tips and pointers and giving her a name.
Enjoy.

Part I
~Sometimes I wake up and lie still enough
To hear the petals drop from the vase of flowers
Sometimes I lie awake and
Wish there was someone to hear
Me falling.~
~Simon Van Booy
Socializing was never one of her King's best traits, in fact he would often make sly remarks about facing off against the Fallen Star or even Prime again would be better than having a decent conversation with another Kaiju. While she had a lot of friends and acquaintances all over the world, her King didn't have many, more like a clawful at best and he rarely sees them. She can understand his ways though, he grew up a Loner and the one time he actually let a companion in, tragedy struck and he didn't want to go through that anguish again….so sitting here, watching him interact with another kaiju with a smile on his face was a rare moment.
In fact, to her it was down right "cute"….
A wave of dirt sprayed into her face when Methuselah skidded past her before regaining his balance. Bringing his large fist down on the ground, creating earthquakes like no other, Methuselah growled, I fought Calves who threw stronger punches than that! He shouted before spitting out blood and dirt.
Her King smirked while flexing his claws. I'm being nice and holding back, Weird Voice. Don't want to brittle those old bones of yours.
Methuselah snorted, The last kaiju who said that, couldn't walk for a week after I broke his legs!
Methuselah charged towards her King, sending another spray of dirt and rocks in her face again and she had to look away.
Ok…"Cute" may not be the right word to use in this situation, she thought while rubbing the dirt out of her eyes. She suddenly felt something shift next to her and she couldn't help, but flinch a bit. When her King was invited by Methuselah for a sparring match and to catch up on things, Methuselah failed to mention he was bringing a Guest. A kaiju, she and definitely her King did not feel comfortable around.
Careful Meth, he might bitch-slap you with his tail, and then I'm going to feel really bad for laughing at you! The female lizard kaiju shouted in pure excitement.
Mosura gracefully took a few steps away from the giant lizard without her noticing and tried to put on her best smile. Her King made a big protest about having the female around, but Methuselah gave them his word that the female will be on her best behavior. She just wanted to watch them spar and heckle. It took a lot of convincing, but her King let her stay and she was nice enough to keep the female company (Since Methuselah asked nicely after all)
Methuselah rammed his head right into her King's chest, but her King stood his ground and grabbed hold of Meth's horns to pull him back. Blind Spot! Meth shouted and delivered a painful punch to her King's knee. He roared, letting Meth go only to give the mountain kaiju the chance to tackle him to the ground with his whole body. Her King fell back, hitting the ground hard, and creating a dirt-style smoke around the two males.
Oh, that was a cheap shot! You're better than that! The female Lizard shouted.
Methuselah took a few steps back and huffed. Blind Spot, Ceres, that wasn't a Cheap Shot.
Ceres smirked. I don't know, it looked like a cheap shot to me. Is that old mind of yours finally getting to you?
Her King's tail flew out of the dust and side-swiped Methuselah in the face, sending him crashing to the ground. Next thing Mosura saw was the dust lighting up with her King's signature blue glow. Getting brighter and brighter by the second. Ceres started to pound her fists on the dirt in excitement.
Ooh, I heard rumors about it, but I've never seen it in real life!
Methuselah's eyes bulged, Well, this is not good-
Her King quickly stood up and blasted Methuselah, point blank, with his beam. The whole place lit up from the intense light and heat, that she had to look away to protect her already stinging eyes. She could hear Ceres cheering in amazement and the feeling of the ground underneath her shaking violently. It didn't last long and once her eyes settled, Mosura turned her attention to her King. He was standing, huffing and puffing, with little blue sparks coming out of his dried mouth. Her eyes trailed down to the ground to see a deep skidded trail leading over a Methuselah lying on his side with smoke coming off of his body.
Oh Kaiju! Mosura shouted, spreading her wings out to fly over there in case he needed a healing session, only to be taken aback when Methuselah picked himself up.
You held back again, didn't you? Meth said, before coughing up smoke.
Um Meth, your trees are on fire. Ceres said, pointing a claw at the burning trees on his back.
Her King snorted and crossed his arms, No I didn't. That was a full force blast.
It was a struggle, but Methuselah was able to get himself back on his feet and claws. If I'm able to get up after taking a blunt force hit then you are holding back. How many times do I have to tell you not to do that? He asked, while looking at himself for any injuries. Other than some of his trees burnt to nothing, Meth looked ok in her eyes.
Hot damn, even after nearly dying, you still complain. Ceres shouted from the sidelines, getting a rather annoying glance from her King.
Knock it off, Ceres. Your heckling is not going to distract me. Methuselah huffed.
Ceres smirked and looked over at her King. Hey, One with the blue beam, do me a favor and hit him again.
Her King looked at her, trying so hard to hide his resentment and disgust and simply ignored the female lizard before turning his attention back to Methuselah. So, do you have any tricks on how to make my beam stronger? Or at least make it last longer or shoot it at will. It seems like the only time it will work is when I'm pissed.
Methuselah coughed again before walking over to her King to examine him. There are some breathing exercises that might help with that and might even help expanding the distance. Plus I do noticed the bad posture you do when you-
While the males talk, Mosura looked up at Ceres, who let out a small sigh in annoyance and she actually felt bad for her. Next to the Faller Star and Prime, her King detest his own species for obvious reasons and even after some came to him to praise him for trapping the Fallen Star in ice, it was his turn to shun them. He wanted nothing to do with them and as far as he claimed, he was rare and one of a kind like her.
Yikes, you can actually see the tension in the air, am I right? Ceres said, nudging Mosura slightly with her tail.
Mosura took a step back and let out a very nervous giggle. She was trying to be nice and collective around the Lizard kaiju, but due to past history with females, it was very hard not to be on edge.
Ceres looked at her. Are you uncomfortable around me too?
She shook her head quickly. No, of course not…it's just…well…it's been awhile since we've seen another lizard kaiju…My King tends to stay away from the Packs. Plus, from what I heard, most of them were killed by the Fallen Star or Prime.
Well, when your main enemy is a Lizard Kaiju, we were the main ones the Fallen Star will….you know…visit. My Pack took a big hit, but we're slowly growing again.
Oh, I see. Mosura said, looking over at her King for a second and tried so hard to hold back the giggles. Methuselah was showing her King how to stand and pose better than his usual slouching posture. Which her King said, it wasn't by choice, his back plates are so heavy it's hard to stand up straight. The males tend to have a more decorative looking plates in order to attach potential females. She turned her attention back to Ceres. Is that why Methuselah is staying with your Pack? Is he helping out?
Ceres smiled so big, Mosura could actually see her reflection in all the kaiju's polished teeth. Nah, he's staying around my Pack because I'm sleeping with him. She said, like it was no big deal telling a stranger that.
Mosura could feel all her color drain from her wings, but manage to keep a straight face.
But he helps out when it comes to teaching the Little Ones how to hunt since most of them lost their parents, so that's a plus, I guess. It's really a funny story. One minute I was out hunting for some food by myself, the next minute, I spotted him eating and threaten to take his food. We exchanged words then started to fight and when the dust settled, he offered me "Company" later that night.
Mosura cleared her throat. Wow, so you and Methuselah, I didn't think…well…he always told us, he wasn't the relationship type.
Whoa, I wouldn't call it That, more like keeping each other company till my Sire finds a worthy Suitor to court me.
She nodded, remembering her King mentioning how their Kind's Courtship works. It was normally the Parents that decide who their hatchlings would be mates with. If the Courtship was a success, they would be Mates for life. As her King would put when his possessive side comes out: No one else can have you. It was romantic as it was chilling in her opinion. I would say Methuselah is a worthy suitor, don't you think.
Ceres stared at her, her tail swishing up and down which Mosura kept her eye on just in case of any surprise attacks. The last female lizard she encountered didn't go so well. He is, but sorry, my Sire only wants Lizard kaijus….now unless your so-called King wants to participate, I know a lot of Sires who would be happy to give their daughters to him.
Her antennas bend from such a thought which made Ceres cracked up in a snort-filled laugher. She quickly looked over at her King and Methuselah to make sure they didn't hear what the female said and was glad to see they were still distracted. Methuselah was telling her King to suck in as much air as possible while his plates began to light up one by one, and pointed at the tiny hill that was yards away.
Come on, little bug, I was just messing with you. Don't be such a prude. Ceres said, giving her a not-so-gentle nudge with her claw this time.
She nearly lost her balance from the blunt push, even when gentle, she keeps forgetting how strong the Lizard Kaijus were. I don't find your sense of humor funny.
Ceres shrugged, Methuselah thinks I'm funny. She smirked before expressing herself in a serious tone. Though seriously, it's a good thing Meth is keeping this sparring match far away from my Pack because I know my fellow female pack members and they will try to jump on your precious King's Bone, if you know what I mean.
She frowns, remembering the confrontation with the female lizard, Nyx and how she didn't hesitate to kill her for being in the way. The way her King rejected her still haunts her till this very day. I really wished I didn't. She said, before looking at Ceres, Is that going to be a problem with you?
Ceres beamed from her strong statement. So brave for asking that, aren't we?
A blue light appeared and they both looked to see her King shooting his beam at the small hill. The way his face was crunching up and clenching his fist tight, he was giving it all he got. He still wasn't used to the burning pain it would do to his throat and mouth which is why it was hard for him to really let that beam shine. From the looks of it Methuselah could see it too.
You're holding back again. Methuselah shouted.
Her King closed his mouth to stop the beam and let out a small ribbon of smoke from the side of his mouth. If I go any higher, it's going to burn my tongue and throat, I won't be able to talk for a couple of days.
Sure, but it will eventually form a thick skin and it won't hurt anymore. So for now, you just have to push through the pain. Remember pain is weakness leaving the body.
Shut up, Meth…. Her King growled while positioning himself for another try.
Methuselah stepped away till he was right by his side and pointed his horn at the hill again. Now I want to see that hill crumble into dust, so deep breath, concentrate and shoot.
Mosura flinched when she felt a couple of sharp points roaming around the tuft of fur on her neck and backed away quickly to see Ceres retracting her claws. What are you doing?
Ceres smirked, Just checking for something. You think you should be worried about me taking away your King? I wouldn't sweat it Sweetie, you're Marked and I value my life unlike those desperate females I live with.
Again a small nervous giggle escaped her mouth. I value life as well and the last thing I want is someone to get hurt.
After all, the last time another female tried to get close to him, it didn't end well for the Poor Thing. Something Mosura learned from past experience that her King didn't like to be touched, she thought. A flaw from his Anti-social ways, in fact it took him some time during their long Courtship for him to feel comfortable enough for grooming and affection.
Ceres smirked and leaned down till they were eye to eye. Oddly thought, Mosura didn't feel threaten, in fact from the look and feel she was sensing, the female was just toying with her. Being playful in an unladylike way. My advice then...never drop your guard. Now that word is getting out who trapped the Fallen Star in the ice, there's going to be a lot of female that will do ANYTHING to take your place.
Mosura didn't know what to say so she just sat there and stared at the patches of grass flowing thanks to the wind.
Oh look, he's powering up again. Ceres said, which made Mosura look at her King's performance again.
Once again, her King aimed and fired his beam at the hill, hitting the center of the rock and literally drilling a hole in it. The sounds of the hill cracking could be heard, but that wasn't enough for Methuselah.
I said, quit holding back! The Mountain Kaiju shouted and delivered a powerful punch in her King's stomach.
Her King doubled over while the hit forced his beam to triple in size causing the hill to crack from the pressure before exploding in one large, loud boom. She quickly covered herself with one of her wings to keep dirt and rocks from hitting her while Ceres used her tail to do the same thing. Her King fell to his knees, coughing and spitting out purplish spit, a mixture of blue radiation and blood, while trying to catch his breath.
A rock hit Methuselah's head, but the kaiju paid no attention to it while waiting for the dust to clear to inspect the damage. When the dust settled, there was nothing left of the hill, but a giant hole in the ground. Now that's more like it. I told you you can do it! Methuselah cheered.
Whooooo! Ceres shouted. Do it again!
Mosura looked at her King. My Love, are you alright?
Her King growled, not only was there blood leaking from his mouth, but from his snout as well, and glared at the Mountain Kaiju. You son of a BITCH! He roared and tackled Methuselah to the ground. Sending more dirt and grass up into the air. What made it worse was Methuselah's laughter as the two began to fight again with Ceres cheering them on.
She sighed and proceeded to clean the dirt out of her fur.
Males….
0000000000
It was late evening when Gojira laid down to rest from all the sparring. The warm breeze was nice on his open wounds, giving him a much needed cooling sensation thanks to his blood and the little footsteps on his back from his Queen tending to him was great on his sore muscles. Still, the inner parts of his throat and mouth were screaming. It felt like he swallowed one of those pointy desert plants like he did back in his lonely, starving days and just wanna to punch Meth in the face again because of it.
Still….
Meth nudged him roughly on the shoulder before taking a seat in front of him. Oh man, I'm going to be feeling these wounds for the next few days. Great fight, you should be proud of yourself. Meth said before coughing up some more smoke.
Gojira couldn't help, but chuckle from the old Kaiju's optimistic and wild ways. Meth was one of the rare few that didn't see him as some sort of monster. The Male showed him respect, but was also firm when he needed to be and when they first met, Meth saw potential in him and took his time and skills to help him out reaching it. The Mountain Kaiju was tough, very tough and during that time when they were trying to take down the Parasites' population, they butt heads like no other, but in the end, they've became friends. So much so, he was actually upset when Meth told him he was leaving for some much needed alone time and quietness and they both went their separate ways-
Ow! He shouted and looked back at Mosura, who was applying silk soaked in some plant mush that was supposed to soothe wounds into his open cuts. Take it easy, Mosura!
Oh stop, it's just a little sting. It won't last long. Mosura said, while giving the silk a good pat to make sure it was sticking properly. Methuselah, would you like a healing treatment as well.
Methuselah raised a brow before shaking his head. No thanks…unlike Gojira over here, I take my wounds with pride.
His Queen giggled, I guess living so long can do that to a male.
He blinked as the two continued to make fun of him and couldn't help his eyes trailing over to the female lizard that was waiting and watching them from a distance. He was stunned when a Messenger Bird found him out of the blue telling him Methuselah wanted to see him as soon as possible and since it's been a year or two, he didn't hesitate to follow the bird to Meth's location. Mosura didn't mind since as she puts it: When do we ever visit your companions? What Meth failed to mention was that he was staying around a lizard kaiju Pack complete with a female escorting him around. Right off the back, he didn't trust the female, remembering the crazy-shitty ones he dealt with growing up and the one he killed when trying to protect Mosura and he was not shy about it either. He simply didn't like them.
He felt another nudge on his sore shoulder by Meth's claws. Hey relax, Ceres is not going to try anything. Meth said, looking a little offended.
He snorted. Who said she was?
Meth narrowed his eyes and smirked. You've been staring at her off and on while she and your Queen were talking. Don't act like I didn't notice, I can read facial expressions after all.
Mosura hummed while climbing on top of his head. He has a point, my Love, I was feeling it in our connection as well.
May I remind you the last female had her tail wrapped around your neck and threatened to tear your head off. He said, looking up at her. His vision was blurry from his eye being swollen.
(She was very angry at you for abandoning her and very jealous.) Mosura said through their Connection since there were some things she wished to keep to themselves.
(You had to bring THAT up, didn't you?) He returned in a grumble tone.
I don't understand why you brought that Heckling Ballbuster here. You knew my opinion about them. He huffed.
Oh, you call what she said Heckling? That's childish jokes to what I'm used to hearing. You have no idea the type of stuff that comes out of that Uncouth Female's mouth. Methuselah said, with a smirk on his face and a little twinkle in his pearl colored eyes. Trust me, she's a "Good Girl."
He blinked and took a deep breath. Oh kaiju, you're sleeping with her, aren't you?
He felt a kick on his back from his Queen with her quietly telling him how thoughtless it was to ask and he thought he was going to get punched in the face by the Mountain Kaiju, but instead Meth just shrugged.
Well, I thought introducing Ceres as my girlfriend would make things awkward. Meth said, calmly. And from the looks of it, I was right.
It's not awkward. It just made me realize you have horrible taste in females. He said, which was rewarded with another kick by his Queen.
Meth lifted himself up to stretch before lying back down on the ground. As much as I like to gossip about my love life like some silly female, that's not the reason why I needed to see you.
Right, so what is it? He asked, popping his neck, hearing his bones crack.
Meth tapped his claws on the ground and looked away. Actually, it's more of a favor I need from Mosura.
His eyes widened in question and caused Mosura's antennas to perk up. Come again?
Meth sighed, looking rather embarrassed from what he said. Ok, this might sound weird, but for the last couple of weeks, I've been getting a lot of Messenger Birds coming here requesting me to visit my Best Friend, Demetrius…concerning his young daughter.
He smirked, Geez Meth, I know you like them young, but come on. He said, only to once again get a kick from his lovely Queen and a scold. He huffed, Mosura, if you can't handle what he has to say, can you give us a little privacy? He asked, since that last kick hit a very tender spot.
How am I supposed to help if I don't know the information? She asked.
Because knowing Methuselah, he's not going to censor things and I know how you are.
Mosura thought about it for a second before expanding her wings out. Fair enough, just give me the main points when you two are done. She said, before flying off his back and over to where the Female Lizard was. He can already feel the annoyance and uncomfortable feeling of being next to the giant kaiju coming from his Queen.
He snorted, making sure Mosura was fine before returning his attention back to Meth. So what about your Friend's hatchling?
Calf, Gojira. Apparently, she's been begging her Sire to find me and come back to their herd.
Annnd that's bad why? He had to ask. Normally, he wouldn't care about personal situations like this, but since it was Meth asking him, he was intrigued. Meth always had a good head on his shoulders and wouldn't hesitate to go head on in battle so for something like a young female to spook him should be an interesting story.
Meth shook his head. Years ago, I met his daughter. Pretty Little Thing in Mountain Kaiju standards I guess. Alas, when it comes to Pretty Females, there's also drama and problems you don't want to touch. My Friend's daughter was a foolish Calf who fell in love with the wrong male.
And what does that have to do with you?
My friend asked me to visit his head to help train the young Lads and to collect dirt on his Daughter's Mate-to-be. Apparently he had his suspicions that the young male was fooling around behind his Daughter's back. He was the Alpha and with her being the next one in line to take over, he wanted to make sure she picked an honorable male. Meth then swallowed and looked at the dirt between his claws. I did my job, I was just helping out my friend…how was I supposed to know it was going to end badly?
So the Asshole was fooling around behind her back? Gojira asked before making a small tssk. Let me guess, he had that Bad-Male Charm that no lady could resist? "He's just misunderstood, Sire, I love him." He mimicked, even going as far as saying it in Methuselah's weird voice.
Methuselah gave him a look before continuing. He had charm alright, but it was only to hide his disgrace and ego. The Male was very confident and had a very high opinion of himself. Not that there's anything wrong with that when you're stable, but something about him was off. As my Friend would put it, he was born wrong.
He suddenly thought about that Pesky Bird for the first time after decades of his Companion's Passing and could recall Rodan having the same Dangerous Charm. All the nights he would hear Angurius berate the Bird over the latest female he used for entertainment and Rodan saying, it was all fun and games. It wasn't his fault the females sought him out because their males weren't paying attention to them. Ang would always end the conversation about getting caught and suffering the consequences afterward and blah blah blah. So how did it end badly, was it one of her friends or siblings he was sleeping with.
Meth couldn't help, but chuckle a bit. Oh no, worse. The Male was caught sleeping with a Parasite of all things.
Gojira's mouth started to twitch from Meth's words. A Parasite? The Mountain kaiju was having sex with a Parasite?
It was a true fact among all the kaijus in the world that Parasites were the lowest of the low. All the way down the chain next to leeches and blood-sucking mosquitoes. Some would say the Parasites were not even kaijus, just nasty sore Marks, he, personally, was hoping to exterminate till there weren't any left. Sadly, the Parasite are some form of insect and like the Insect Kaijus, they bred like crazy, outnumber every herd, pack and flock by the thousands and they work as one with a storm Queen leader. Getting involved with them was unheard of since Parasites don't breed outside their Kind and it's basically a death sentence if they got caught so…
Don't laugh, it's not funny. Meth said, while playfully swiping Gojira in the face.
It's hard not to, and it takes a lot to make me laugh…I mean…shit…can you imagine? Catching someone in the nest with a filthy Parasite? The disgust and shame on their faces….
I'd rather not. I already had a close encounter with a female Parasite and was nearly used as a host for all her eggs. That's enough for me in my lifetime. Meth said, before spitting to make sure it came out clear instead of red.
Good thing they didn't reproduce. I don't even want to think about what those little Bastards would look like….
Meth shook his head from his words. Foolish Female, she was so "in love" like any young Pretty Thing would be. She even came to me for help. Hoping I could convince my friend to give that male a chance.
You still haven't told me how it ended badly?
I confronted the Male and he didn't even deny it nor care that I knew since there was no way the Fool would believe me. Sadly for him, she did find out and caused a big scene right in front of everyone in her Herd. Have you ever seen a female at her lowest point? Not a nice or comfortable thing to see. Anyway, he was kicked out of the Herd and I thought it would be the end of it. My friend got what he wanted, he wanted the male away from his daughter and gone, but instead wanted the male to face a harsher punishment and he did….
Nice, so what did your friend do?
Nothing. We went out to look for the male and found him dead in a pool of blood. It was a gruesome death, beaten and cut wide open with dead Muto's eggs scattered all around him. Close by the body was a dead female parasite. The cuts and marks on them indicate they were ambushed by the Parasite's Colony. When I told my friend, he was happy, but his daughter ended up having a nervous breakdown. It was a mess.
Gojira snorted, So why do you need Mosura?'
I was hoping she could go over there and…I don't know…talk to my friend's daughter. Perhaps advice or comfort from someone like Mosura will snap the Pretty Fool out of her problems.
Oh Kaiju Meth, don't put your problems on Mosura. If the female needs you to go over there. Just go.
I'm NOT getting myself involved with that drama again. Especially with her. She tried coming onto me out of despair and I'm not risking that interaction again.
How very noble of you, Meth, Gojira said, sarcastically,...but that doesn't excuse you for being a coward about it. It's just a female.
Just a female, my ass. I don't deal with "Female Problems" and neither do you so don't tell me I'm a coward. A Lesson in life about females, Gojira, never get involved with the Ones with problems or the "Crazies." He said, in disgust. Those types will never go away.
Been there done that, Gojira thought, referring to one particular female he had a fling with. He only did it out of spite and boy, Mosura nearly paid the price for it in the end. Why not take your Heckling Girlfriend instead. I'm sure she has some real "Ball-busting" things to say to cheer her up. Perhaps she can even get some tips on how to act like a female in return.
Hey, I happen to like the way Ceres is. There's nothing more desirable than a female that can take care of herself, that's why I stay away from my Kind. Too dainty and sensitive, they don't know how to fight or defend themselves because they don't want to ruin or crush their beautiful flowers. Meth said with a smirk than noticed a rather offended look across Gojira's face. Not to offend your Mate over there. You two have the right balance.
He snorted, Meth….
Look, I feel like I made a mess of things when I was over there. I don't want to do that again. I think Mosura would be better at this than I would. Do this for me and I'll never ask for anything again.
He couldn't help, but slouch while a low groan escaped from his bloody mouth….

And your life will become

The Next Day…
Princess Persephone….now that's a beautiful name. Mosura said, while shifting a bit on top of Gojira's head for a more comfortable position. She gave her wings a slight flutter before letting them droop down till they were covering his plated back.
Gojira let out a small grumble, wishing his Queen said No to Methuselah's request, but that's Mosura for you, she would be there for any kaiju in need, whether to fix a wound or heal a broken heart. You know, we don't have to go. We can just say we did and let things fix themselves.
That's horrible, my Love. I promised Methuselah I will speak to the Young One and help her. How can I turn down a kaiju in need?
I can understand if she's sick or broke a bone that needs a Healing Session, but this…So she had a rotten Mate-to-be, who hasn't nowadays, that's life and now she knows it's not a pretty world out here. He said, showing off the dry, empty land they were crossing.
My Love, Methuselah has been a great friend to you and that's rare. Very rare. Other than Na Kika, I think Methuselah is the only kaiju you like to be around. Why ruin that? She asked, floating in front of him.
First of all, Na Kika isn't a companion. She was a companion to my Sire….
Yet you visit her just to show her you're alive and doing well. Mosura said with a smirk.
He blushed a bit from her bringing up that arrangement. It was the least he could do after all the help he got from Na Kika during a very dark chapter in his life and that's all the Octopus wanted. She went centuries not knowing what happened to his Sire, so she didn't want that to happen with him as well so he would visit her for a check-up. Mosura would get a kick out of Na Kika smothering him with Motherly love since it would make him uncomfortable, but if that's what it takes to make the Old Hag happy, he can suck it up for a few hours. That's different.
Mosura giggled, You know I told you I can do this on my own, you didn't have to come.
Um No, I'm not stupid Mosura, Meth told me his friend's Herd lives around a Parasite Colony. The ACTUAL Colony where Prime lives. Do you really think I'm going to let you go alone?
Yes and that reminds me, I need you to promise me something. Mosura said, getting serious.
What? He asked, and noticed her colors in her wings getting dim.
She sighed, You spent the last few years fighting and killing parasites all over the land and I'm proud of what you did. You saved a lot of kaijus from becoming Hosts, but since we're going to be around Prime's territory…
He rolled his eyes. I'm not going after Prime if that's what you're getting at, Mosura.
She looked at him, Really? She questioned in disbelief.
He crossed his arms, As much as I would love to go over there and tear off her head, we're going to be around her turf and outnumbered. The only way I can defeat her is if she's all alone and that's the bad part about her, she's never alone. He said, feeling very disappointed in himself. Prime was strong because she was powerful and had endless amount of children that will do anything to keep her safe which is how she was able to survive this long even during the Fallen Star's terror.
She nodded, feeling relief from his words, Ok so we're going over there to help the Young One…not getting into fights with Prime.
Correct and if you want to continue with that plan, you need to figure out how to get there without crossing their path.
Way ahead of you on that one. From what I picked up from reading Methuselah's mind, there's a route we can take that will avoid the Parasites, but that will add another two days of walking. Less if I can fly over there by myself.
Not going to happen. Their males fly too, remember. He said.
She smiled, feeling protected by his presence. Then we should continue on since it's going to be a long trip or do you need to rest?
No, I want to get out of this desert before nightfall. There's no place to hide or fresh water around. He said, though he can already feel his body tiring out on him due to all the sparring he did with Methuselah the other day.
Very well. She said, landing back on his head, but this time used her left wing to provide shade for him. Carry on.
He nodded and continued on with his walking. By the way, next time you read Methuselah's mind to get his friend's location, give him a warning first. He said it felt weird having his head "tugged and pulled" like that.
I just wanted to make sure we got the exact location. Besides, it's not like I looked at anything else in his memories.
Did you at least get a picture of what the female looks like?
Mosura nodded. Yes,...though I hope she looks better than what Methuselah remembered.
The Princess had a pretty face, but there was no color in her. Her eyes were dull as well and all of her plants, vines and flowers were either wilted or dead. According to Methuselah, their plants die whenever their Kind are sick, dying or depressed. She didn't want to tell Meth, but she saw the last memory he had of the Princess. She was so tired and broken and she begged Methuselah to stay because not only did her Sire needed him, she needed him as well. Sadly, Meth wasn't the type that settled down so he told her that "Things will get better" before turning his back on her to walk away. He tried to hide it, but she could sense the guilt he held for destroying the Princess's happy life even though he was just doing his job so hopefully this meeting will put Meth's mind at ease.
It took awhile to get to their destination, mostly due to her King taking his sweet time. Again, socializing wasn't his thing and the thought of having to be around a large group like a Herd didn't exactly make him run faster to the location. More like dragging his feet in Mosura's opinion. After getting out of the desert, they spent a night near a large river with her taking the first watch of the night so her King could sleep. After all, he was the one doing all the walking and needed the most rest. It was alright for her, the sky was clear so she had a wonderful time looking at the stars and the Smile-shaped moon. The cool breeze did wonders to her fur as it flowed through every strand and the warmth of her King's body just made everything so relaxing. Oh, how peace around the world can do to one Moth's cluttered mind.
The second and third day were uneventful. Just them following the river that will lead them to a giant lake that should take them to Meth's old Herd. The days were hot and humid which was something Mosura couldn't stand, so on the third day, she used their Rest Break to take a dip in the water to cool off. The river was nice and fresh and just deep enough to keep her head above water while little her feet touched the soft ground. Her King didn't like the river that much, since he couldn't completely dive into it like he could in the ocean plus the fresh water felt different in his gills which didn't make sense to her, but she took his word on it since she didn't have them. At least he can breathe underwater, something she wished she could do in order to see the beauty and wonders of the deep water. On the fifth day, they were stuck thanks to a horrible storm which she spent inside a small cave while her King stood outside, guarded and firm, never moving a single inch while staring up at the violent dark clouds as the rain and lightning spread across the land. It's days like these her King would choose not to sleep just to make sure there was nothing in the black clouds that could hurt them. Even though the Fallen Star was trapped in the ice, it was hard for him to believe that after so long.
On day seven, his anxiety didn't calm down for a moment as they took a hidden path to avoid the Parasite's Colony, though there were a few times they spotted the males flying around. Mosura had to hide underneath her King's chest to make sure her bright colorful wings didn't attract the males from the sky. What really ruined her day was when they spotted a dead kaiju covered in flies and maggots. From the looks of it, his stomach burst wide open after being eaten from the inside. Next to it, she saw dozens of tiny footprints leaving the carcass and heading back to the Colony.
What a waste. Her King said in a disappointed tone. It seems like no matter how many he would kill these things, two more parasites will come back.
It was early morning when they finally made it to the giant lake only to be greeted by two young male Mountain kaijus. At first, they stood guarded and ready to attack till they realized it was the True Lizard kaiju that took down the Fallen Star along with his Queen. While her King took a few steps back for space, Mosura flew over to the Young Males and greeted them with her bright light and smile. Apparently, the two were brothers, twins to be exact and they were in charge of keeping guard in case of Invaders.
So you're the famous Mosura and the one called King? The left twin asked. I'm Raijin.
We heard so many things about you two and how you two took down the Fallen Star. The right twin said with glee. I'm Ravi.
Mosura smiled at the two males. Happy to see Young Ones like them around when so many others died by the wings of the Fallen Star. They were at the Mature age, where sooner or later they will get a mate and settle down to have calves of their own. They weren't as muscle mass as Methuselah (then again who is compared to Meth and being one of the oldest kaijus out there, Meth had a lot of time to build up), but they were strong. Their mountain backs barely showed a pointy top and were covered in grass and tiny tree twigs. If she had to guess, this is what Meth would have looked like when he was younger. Despite being twins, she can tell them apart by their horns. Raijin's right horn was smaller than his left and Ravi's left horn was smaller than his right. She bowed, It's nice to meet you two. I go by Mosura and the one called King goes by Gojira.
Gojira grumbled before letting out a small snort.
Hi. He said, keeping his words plain and simple and straight to the point.
Not much of a Talker? Raijin said.
Who can blame him, we're strangers to him. Ravi said, shrugging his shoulders.
They both looked down at Mosura. So what brings you here, my Lady. Raijin asked.
Are you here for the celebration? Ravi asked.
Celebration? She asked.
Raijin nudged his brother. We don't know if there's going to be a celebration or not, Ravi.
The way our Alpha is trying to charm it, I have a feeling there will be
What Celebration? She asked again, patiently. She could already feel her King's eye twitching from the males' chattering and can see why he prefers her to do all the talking.
They both nodded. We're merging our herd with another and if everything goes well, we're moving our herd to a safer location so we don't have to deal with the Parasite Colony anymore. Raijin said.
She smiled, How exciting, but no, we're actually here on our Companion Methuselah's behalf.
Both males looked at each other. Methuselah?
She nodded, Surely, he had a Messagener Bird tell your Alpha about our Arrival?
Now the twins looked nervous before Raijin nudged Ravi to say something. Ravi cleared his throat. So he didn't come with you? The whole reason our Alpha kept sending Messengers was because our Princess wanted to see him personally.
No, he asked me to come instead. Is that a problem? Mosura asked.
Not for us- Ravi began.
We're thinking more about Persephone. I doubt the girl can take anymore disappointments in her life right now. Raijin ended.
Any more disappointment? What do you mean? She asked.
If you want all the details- Ravi begins.
-Talk to her best friends…they've been there for her ever since that Parasite Scandal. Raijin finished.
She nodded, Ok, what are their names?
There's Aoide, she's the one with the dark pink flowers. Though fair warning, I would be careful around her, she's expecting and a bit moody. Ravi said with a chuckle.
Raijin punched him in the arm. Show some respect. He whispered, which got a giggle out of Mosura. Oh yeah, she can tell Methuselah was the one who taught the two how to be proper young males. Raijin shook his head before finishing Ravi's sentence. The other one is Bala and she has bright yellow flowers. They shouldn't be that hard to find since they're always together or close to the Princess.
Ok, thank you for your kindness and hospitality. Mosura said, bowing before jumping up into the air to fly. Hopefully, we are here long enough to see this said Celebration.
The twins laughed nervously, That makes three of us. After all, a happy Alpha means a happy life for the rest of the Herd. Ravi said, only to get hit by Raijin.
Will you shut up! Raijin shouted.
What?! They're going to find out eventually! Ravi fired back.
Yeah, but till then keep your mouth shut!
Just because you were born an hour before me doesn't make you the boss.
It does because I'm older!
Mosura landed on top of her King's head who looked so bored out of his mind, he just grumbled and continued on their merry way to the Herd without even saying one thing to the young twins. Though the way they were arguing, she was pretty sure they didn't notice that they've left.
Are you ok? She asked her King, who still hasn't said much.
You know I hate Social Functions. He said, looking up at her.
Oh come on, when was the last time we just had fun around other kaijus. It's a Celebration!
You don't even know what this Celebration is about? Her King argued
What better way to figure it out than ask around. She said, smiling.
Part III
~A long time gone, and a long time ago
When I shattered my image with the rocks I'd throw
The world is cruel and people are cold
They shattered my image with the rocks they'd throw
I'm far from perfect, but I ain't all bad
It hurts me more than it makes me mad
You gather your stones by stooping so low
Then shattered my image with the stones you'd throw~

We're celebrating a Courtship between our Princess and a male from another Herd. The female named Bala said, while parting the long vines out of her face. The move caused some of her bright yellow flowers(buttercups)'s petals to fall down on her.
Mosura blew a petal out of her face and watched it land gently in the green grass. She couldn't help, but smile at the scenery of the land. It was Springtime and it showed by how bright and colorful the females in the Herd look. All their flowers were out and in full bloom with each one showing off a different color, scent and lush greenery on their backs. The males's rock-like skin was polished and chiseled and covered in fresh growing moss. Their mountain backs came in different sizes, showing off their age and experiences, and covered with grass and trees. Their home matched the same look and feel as them, nothing, but fresh watered grass all around them thanks to the storm that flew by a few days back and the air smelled so crisp due to the full-bloomed trees. The river that was connected to the lake was three times bigger thanks to the rain which was nice for all the young ones. Most of them were swimming in the shallow parts of the river or just chasing each other around while their mothers sat around and watched. Mosura wanted to cry in happiness from seeing so many little ones. The last decade of the Fallen Star's terror, there wasn't much of the population left and it was getting harder and harder to bring little ones into the world. Some were too afraid while others didn't have enough to repopulate. To her it's been awhile since she's seen a full, happy community. From the far right where the river was, the calves were playing while their mothers talked and mingled. Further away, she can see the young mature males having their little sparring matches to show off in front of the females that were watching from the sidelines. No doubt gossiping and pretending not to show interest in the males in front of them. On the other side of the land lay a row of mountains she found out were actually the elder mountain kaijus taking their afternoon naps. When they sleep, they tend to bury themselves underground where only their back could be seen. In between the land were the rest of the Herd doing their daily task or just hanging around. Some of them left not too long ago to fetch food for her and her King as honorable guests. Further away, where the ground formed a large, wide hilltop laid the Alpha male of the herd with another older male and her King. The hilltop was the Alpha's spot to watch over and protect his Followers from anything that posed a threat. From the looks of it, her King was actually getting along by the mellow feeling she was getting from their connection, but she wasn't sure how long that would last.
A Courtship? Mosura asked while slightly tilting her head. That's good then, right?
After all, if the Princess was in the middle of a Courtship, it would mean she moved on and didn't need her help like she thought.
Yes and no. Mostly No, in my opinion. The other female named Aoide answered in a tired voice. Aoide was circling them for her daily exercise and as she puts it, a great way to trigger labor. The poor girl was heavily pregnant and was in a lot of discomfort, but she was very beautiful in Mosura's eyes. All the extra attention she was getting made her bloom out in vines and flowers(azaleas) that they were literally dragging on the ground. Her belly was covered in cracks due to the calf expanding her smooth, rock-texture armor to the point some of it was chipping off.
For crying out loud, Aoide, sit down before you pass out from exhaustion. Bala said, annoyed by her friend's stubbornness. Or at least eat some of your flowers for the extra energy.
It's worse when I lie down and I'm saving as much of my flowers as I can for the little one. Especially when food has been so scarce lately. Aoide said in a breathy tone. Since Mountain kaijus are both meat and plant eaters, females tend to feed their flowers and vines to newborns for nutrition and energy.
Bala shook her head and turned her attention back to Mosura. Don't mind her, she's trying to give birth before we leave this place. It would make things easier for her not having to carry all the extra weight around.
That's if we leave, Bala, IF we leave. Aoide huffed before finally sitting down to rest. Mosura could actually hear the stomach cracking from the Calf shifting around in her stomach.
Mosura moved her wing over to Aoide and began to fan her to help her cool down before speaking. Why is everyone so jittered about this move and the Courtship? Are they somehow connected to each other?
Bala sighed before nodding. Yes. I'm pretty sure you heard about what happened to our Friend a few years back?
She nodded, though the way her King explained it was a bit harsh.
(The female is sad because her Male banged a parasite. The End. Are you sure we have to go?)
Mosura slightly shook her head from her King's coldness sometimes. He's willing to risk his life and fight to save the world, but won't show any sort of compassion or empathy towards a kaiju when it comes to personal trouble…Something about her Mate-to-be falling for a parasite…She said with lady-like matters. Never in her life will she ever say words like: Banged, Screw, or that word her King would use whenever he's in a bad mood.
Aoide laughed hard while holding on to her swollen belly. That was a good one, Dear Mosura. I think you made this calf bounce from that ludicrous.
Her antennas dropped, How do what I said sound ludicrous?
Bala blew her vines out of her face again. Oh, the whole "falling in love thing." I don't think Tyr knew what exactly "Love" was in my opinion.
So Tyr was the young male's name. A name given to a male for power and strength. A Warrior. That's silly, everyone is capable of Love.
Not Tyr. I swear there was something off about that Male it was down right scary. He was a flirt, in fact he flirted with all our females besides Aoide and I, but it wasn't charming…more creepy. Like he got off seeing fear in our friends' eyes when he's backs them into a corner. I know our males were scared of him too, not only was he scary, he was crafty, manipulative and violent. He was a great fighter…but that was because he played dirty. Bala said, shaking her head, causing her vines to cover her face again.
Here, let me help. Mosura said, jumping onto Bala's back to sit down near her shoulders. She then hook the vines up with her claw and began to tie them up in a cute, fashionable knot. If this Tyr Male was so upsetting why didn't anyone warn Persephone about it? She asked.
We tried. I think all the females and Our Alpha tried, but you know how it is. She was so in love with him and he knew how to sweet talk his way out of things, she was pretty much prey in his claws. Aoide said, struggling to lie down, but was failing miserably. Our Alpha went even as far as bringing other males to see if she would forget about Tyr, but she would tell us over and over again that Tyr was the one. She knew he was the one she was going to spend her life with and start a family. Aoide said, in frustration
We didn't think he would stray since all the females here wouldn't do such a thing to Persephone, but then my Mate was telling me that Tyr was bragging about seeing another female behind her back. We thought it was from our Herd till my Mate mentioned it was an Outlander, another Princess to be exact. Bala continued.
That's when Methuselah came over to help our Herd and to figure out what Tyr was up to. Our Alpha did not want someone like Tyr to take over. Methuselah did his job, but we weren't prepared for what was going to happen.
They told her the truth? Mosura asked, while fixing up the other vines and trying very hard not to squish any of her yellow flowers on her back.
Aoide nodded, We were there. At first Persephone didn't want to believe it, but when she confronted Tyr…you could smell the sex and the female's scent on him. They caused a big scene in front of everyone and that's when Tyr spilled it to our friend that the other female was a Parasite. He basically bragged to her that she was so much better than Persephone will ever be and flatly told her he never loved her. Boy, was she a mess after that little scenario, it only got worse when she found out that Tyr was killed by a group of Mutos.
Mosura lowered her head from that fact. Death was always a touchy subject for her because that was the main topic on everyone's mind during the Fallen Star's time. How much worse?
The two females looked at each other for a second before Bala spoke. She just lost it. A complete emotional breakdown. Blamed herself and her Sire for Tyr's death and just kept to herself for weeks, she didn't even want us around. She just snapped.
Mosura frowned. That poor girl…but what does this have to do with Methuselah? He told us she wanted him to come back.
And from the looks of it, he didn't come with you, did he? Aoide asked.
Mosura shook her head. He asked me to come here and talk to her.
I don't blame him, I really don't. Persephone never wanted Methuselah to leave. I think after everything settled, she realized her Sire and Meth were only trying to help. Bala said, sadly.
Our friend has it in her head that if Methuselah was here, he would make everything better. Aoide and I have a feeling she sees Methuselah as some sort of security. Or worse, she might have developed some sort of feelings for him because he was there for her and "rescued" her in a way.
That would explain why Methuselah didn't want to come over here. If the young female had some sort of feelings for Methuselah, he knew about it and didn't want to cause anymore drama. Her King told her that Meth wasn't the family-type male. He never desired a Mate or young ones and at his age (He was over 900 years old, probably older than that, but Meth kept himself in shape, some would mistake him for being younger) he never will. So was she hoping he would fix this "Courtship" or this Move your Herd is trying to do?
That's most likely the case or to settle down all the nasty rumors that's been going around over the years about her. Bala said, shrugging.
Rumors? Mosura asked.
Oh yeah, it's not everyday you hear about a Mountain kaiju getting caught messing around with a Parasite. It was a huge scandal and you know how rumors get, they can be vicious and with Tyr gone, Persephone was the one getting all the hits over it. She used to have so many Suitors coming here to court her and now, it's almost like she's damaged goods. The older generations think she tainted because she was with Tyr and he was with a parasite if you get what I mean. The females that are new to our Herd thinks she's foolish and stupid for not knowing what was going on and don't see her Well enough to be the next Alpha and the males, all the Suitors…well, let's just say what they think of her now is very unpleasant. Bala explained.
The years haven't been kind to her and we can tell it's wearing her down. We didn't think it could get any worse till a few days ago. Aoide wheezed before shifting to get more comfortable.
Mosura flew over to Aoide and placed the side of her head on her swollen belly. Not even a second later, she felt a thump from the calf's hard kick and Aoide let out a small whine. She hummed when she pressed her forehead against the stomach, trying to see if she could hear the little heartbeat of the unborn calf and sure enough she felt the faint sound. The Little one is so ready to be born. I would give it another day or so.
Aoide sighed in relief. That's nice to hear, I just wish I wasn't in so much discomfort
It's your first Calf, Aoide. It's not going to be easy. Bala said, with a small smile.
I wish Persephone was here. Her present is always soothing. Aoide said, sadly. She said she was going to be next to me when I give birth, but I'm not so sure anymore.
Mosura looked around. Where is she anyway? I was told she would be with you two.
Probably having her alone time. We haven't seen her in days. I know that sounds cruel, but with Aoide getting closer to labor, I can't leave her side to keep track of her. Bala said.
Does it have something to do with the Courtship you were talking about?
They both nodded then Bala spoke. Alpha Demetrius befriended another Alpha awhile back. A much older Gentlemale, who was trying to rebuild his Herd too after the Fallen Star's mass killings. Apparently, his herd had very few males and too many females. They realize if our herds bind together, it will balance the sexes out and will eventually lead to an expansion. Plus the other Alpha wanted us to move to their turf since it's bigger and farther away from the Parasite Colony, giving newborns like Aoide's calf a chance to live and grow.
The only reason we chose to live here is because the river and lake provided water which is very hard to find and the Alpha promise water, food and safety since we're going to provide young strong males. Sadly, there was a catch, he's very, very traditional. Aoide continued.
Old males like him usually are. Bala interrupted.
He wanted a strong bond between the Herds and what better way then to have a Courtship between his first Heir and our beautiful Princess. Aoide ended.
That's…horrible. Mosura said, slightly disgusted by the mere thought of two kaijus being bonded by an "Arrange Courtship." How can two kaiju love each other when they don't even know each other? I can see why Persephone would be against it.
It is a very old tradition, but it's not dead. Honestly, if we kept that tradition alive, no doubt none of this would've happened to our friend. She would've been matched with a nice, strong male. And I wouldn't feel bad about Persephone's predicament. She was actually happy to go through with it. She thought it would be a good way to start fresh with a male that didn't know about the Scandal and the male chosen wasn't so bad either. Strong, nice-looking, and actually fought one of the Fallen Star's Allies when they tried to kill his Sire. She was nervous, but she knew she was doing this to move on and help her Herd out, shoot, she even went as far as allowing us to groom herself up. Oh, it was so wonderful to see her pink flowers bloom with life once again. I swear back then when she was so happy, she would walk around and make those Pink Petals dance. We were so excited when they first met, they looked happy, our Alpha was happy, everyone was happy. Aoide said, before letting her words trail off and she frowned. The pain of her pending calf was making it hard for her to breathe right. Aoide took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
Mosura pat Aoide's stomach gently. Easy, I'm going to give you some of my shimmer dust, it helps ease the pain.
Aoide nodded and placed her head down on the ground. A few more days of this…
Bala gave her friend a very pitiful smile. Yeah, we thought it was going well. We gave the two some privacy so they could talk and get to know each other then the next thing we saw was Persephone running away crying while the male walked away in disgust. That was a few days ago.
Mosura tilted her head to the right confused. Did anyone say what went wrong?
Both females shook their heads. We don't know. The Alphas are keeping it to themselves and Persephone won't talk to us or want to be bothered.
Well, how can I help if I don't know what I'm dealing with? Where can I find her?
Bala pointed to the open field where the Males were sparring. If you want to know what happened, Zeus might tell you, after all he was the one who rejected her in the first place.
Also if Persephone is not around the Herd, she's most likely in the flower field about a mile down the river. That's the spot she would go to when she wants to be left alone. That's her own land her Sire gave her, no one is allowed over there unless she invites you. Aoide added before closing her eyes for some much needed rest.
Mosura nodded, Alright, thank you for the input. I'll see what I can do. She said, flying up into the air.
Bala waved at her, Good luck, Dear Mosura. You're gonna need it.
0000000000
She flew down to the open field where the males were sparring and didn't take long to grab the overly egotistic male's attention.
The one called Zeus stood tall and proud, something she would see her King do in order to feel like he was on top of the world. Despite that, he was polite since he didn't fight her when she asked him to speak to her privately. Though she wished she came over sooner because the smell of blood and dirt filled her nose due to Zeus' brutal sparring match with another male and it was making her sick
Those wounds look awful. Would you like some of them healed? She asked, while sitting down on the ground in front of him. Trying very hard not to feel intimidated by the Male's height.
No thanks, they will turn into scars and it's battle scars like these that attracts the females. He said, going as far as showing off his old ones while flexing his built arms and shoulders. You see this one right here...He pointed to a large, deep crater style hole on his mountain back...Got this one by a Root Kaiju who was an ally to the Fallen Star. Damn Bastard knew how to control plants and was trying to pull my trees out by the roots. Worst pain I've ever felt in my life. That's like someone pulling out your veins from your tender flesh. He described proudly then noticed the rather uneasy look on her face. I mean surely you can understand being with the lizard that calls himself the King and all. I'm sure he earned enough scars to give himself that entitled name.
Now, now, we're here to talk about something important, not make fun of my King. She said, waving her claw at him.
Don't get me wrong like that little Moth, I respect the male greatly. We all do in fact. Anyone who is friends with Methuselah is a friend to all Mountain Kaijus.
Oh, so you know Methuselah?
Zeus nodded. Met him when I was a young Lad. Way before the world turned into a pile, burning down tar pit and helped out with our Herd. My Sire Charon was very grateful to know him.
Mosura smiled. That's nice to know. My King adores him as well though he would never admit it.
How is that Old Bones doing anyway?
Oh, he's staying with a Pack of Lizard kaijus for the time being. In fact he grew very close to a female there as well.
Zeus laughed. Ha, that is so Methuselah, there's no surprise in that. He's always been one of "Those'' kaijus. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but how can any Mountain male reject our beautiful female counterparts?
Mosura raised a brow. Funny because I was about to ask you the same thing.
Zeus's smile instantly dropped and he rolled his pure white eyes. I see, those friends of hers pushed you over here to get dirt on me, huh?
She quickly shook her head. No, of course not, they are just worried. They saw the Princess leave crying and just thought-
No, I rejected her. I'm not going to tarnish my reputation by being courted to her. No offense, but I'm young and still have time to get a better female. A Pure One.
A Pure One? She asked, stunned. That's just shallow. From what I was told, she's a wonderful female and for you to throw her away like that because she wasn't Pure?
That's what I've been told. A male in her own Herd ratted her out. He told me that her boyfriend before me was with a Filthy parasite. You can't come back to be with one of our females after being with some disgusting, inbred, Garbage as if nothing happened. He did that only to go back and sleep next to her afterwards. If she was that bad in the nest or as a female for a strong male like him to screw around with a parasite why in the world would I want to court something so….Tainted.
You don't know that. It's just rumors. Did you hear anything of this from Persephone herself? She was left in the dark about what her boyfriend did. You can't just treat her like she put this upon herself.
Zeus huffed. I don't know why you're getting upset. The Courtship is still going on, I just passed it down to my younger brother. I figure he likes doing Charity work and wants to make a name for himself. Let him have the Tainted Princess. It's his Burial. Just another stupid stunt to get our Sire's attention and approval if you ask me. He said, before rolling his shoulders to loosen up his muscle. He then popped his neck and flashed her a very confident smile. Now if we are done here, I have some more Sparring matches to do.
She sighed, Yes, I was just curious on how things went with Persephone. Hopefully you'll treat the next female with a little more respect. She said, while spreading out her large, colorful wings.
No need to insult me, Lady Moth. I am worthy and a great catch and I'll treat the lady well as long as she's Pure.
(Disgusting) She thought before flying up into the air. Despite her love to mingle with kaijus, she was already done being around this particular male. If you ask her, Persephone dodged another calamity.
00000000
She decided to check up on her King to see how he was doing before heading out to the flower field far away and to tell him where she was going. She found him still on the giant hilltop with Alpha Deme and the other rather old-looking mountain kaiju. Her King didn't even bother to pretend to look interested in what the other two males were talking about. In fact he looked down right bored. When he saw her, his tail actually started to wag.
Please tell me, you talked to the girl and now we can leave. Her King asked.
She landed next to him and bowed her head to the other two males. Quit being so rude, my Love. I still haven't found her yet. Mosura said while fluffing up her fur. The warm weather was starting to get to her. I just wanted to see how you are holding up.
Alpha Demetrius snorted. We're all good. Though I'm disappointed to hear my best friend refused to come back till this matter is solved. Hoping she would read between the line what he meant and she did.
I'm sorry, but Methuselah feels like he caused enough trouble and doesn't want to be around anymore drama.
The other Alpha named Charon chuckled. I don't blame him. This is why it's better to raise Sons than daughters. Less drama and female emotional stuff. You have to give a lot of credit to Deme here, having to raise a daughter all by himself.
And Failing from what I'm seeing. It's times like these I wished her mother was still alive. Alpha Deme said, sadly. looking just as stressed out like the Princess's friends
She caught her King rolling his eyes since he too never cared about gossip or drama before looking at her. (Can we go?) He asked through their connection.
She shook her head. (No, not until I meet and talk to the Princess)
He jerked, (We've been here all day and you still haven't seen her. What in the world have you been doing all this time?!)
(Talking to her friends to figure out the problems. Building a plan)
(Well stop with the gossiping and find the girl and tell her to knock it off)
She glared at him, (It's not that simple so don't get upset with me)
They both stopped when they heard Alpha Deme clear his throat. Is everything Ok?
She giggled, Of course, I'm going to find your daughter and speak to her if that's alright?
Alpha Deme nodded. Yes please. Honestly, I was really hoping Meth would be here. I know my daughter looks up to him and no doubt would talk some sense into her and get her out of this funk she's in, but I'm glad he sent you instead. Ever since that thing with Tyr, she hasn't been the same, our relationship hasn't been the same and I know Charon's first heir was a failure to go on with this Courtship, but his second heir…
Alpha Charon got up to stretch his legs and arms. Yes, yes, I raised my son Zeus tough, strict and strong and sadly he became boorish and shallow. I don't believe in rumors, I'm the type of kaiju that gets the facts straight from the mouth than follow rumors like an adolescent, but Zeus is young, and the young can be stupid. Now my other Heir, he got the heart of his mother, kind and thoughtful, something that wouldn't fit well in battle, but he is willing to go along with the courtship if Persephone will have him. Bonding our Herds together will bring great benefits for all of us.
Do you think that's putting a lot of pressure on the girl after all she's been through? Mosura asked.
I know my daughter can love again, she just needs to get rid of Tyr from her heart. Even in death, that dishonorable male still has a hold on her. Deme said, shaking his head. I feel like she'll never be free.
Her King blinked, unamused by the males' pleas while she tried hard to hold back her tears. Remind me when we see Methuselah again to punch him in the face for making us do this. Her King whispered to her.
Just give me some time. That's all I'm asking. She whispered back before flying up into the air. Till then, try to mingle, it's not going to kill you. She then turn to Alpha Deme, Don't worry, Alpha, I will help her out as much as I can.
Gojira grumbled before turning his attention back to the other two males. So do you have any embarrassing stories about Methuselah I should know about?
Alpha Deme thought about it for a minute before speaking , Shit, I grew up with the male so I know a lot of stories about my dear friend "Twigs"
That caught her King's attention right off the back. Twigs?
Alpha Deme nodded. Well he was a "Runt" when he was born so it took him a while to fully grow into the male you see now. All the males in our old herd used to call him Twigs since he didn't have much muscle mass. Boy, that would pissed him off-
Gojira tried very hard not to laugh, but Mosura could see the corner of his mouth quivering. Twigs? He asked again, flabbergasted.
Mosura took off before she could hear any more stories and followed the river til she spotted an endless field of purplish-blue flowers(Morning Glory) and one lone Male Kaiju standing at the edge of the field. It must be Charon's other Heir they were talking about and gracefully landed next to him. The male was stiff like any Mountain Kaiju and he showed very little reaction when she landed, but was kind enough to bow to her like a Gentlemale.
Hello, you wouldn't happen to be Alpha Charon's other heir, I've been hearing about.
The young male looked exactly like his older brother when it came to looks and plants, but didn't have that many scars and had a softer facial feature that some would consider weak. Her King was like that, so firm and serious, but even HE had a soft side, she should know, she was the only one allowed to see it in the dark. The male looked at her and nodded. I'm sure you heard a lot of things about me.
All, but a name, Young One. She said, smiling.
He sadly smiles, Call me Stone.
Stone? That's….very simple. She said, a bit confused.
It's a nickname, Dear Lady. I don't like my real name. He said, bluntly.
Really? Your older brother is named Zeus, I'm sure your name is just as strong and powerful.
More scary which doesn't suit me. I didn't have the fierce look like my brother according to my Sire when I was bored so my mother gave me a name to strike fear in other kaijus' hearts. I grew up hating it, so just call me Stone.
Alright. She said, waving it off. I'm looking for Princess Persephone. I've been all over this place, talking to her friends and family and they all told me she would be here in this field of flowers.
Stone nodded. You are correct she is here. I'm just keeping an eye out for her since she's out here by herself. Though, I was hoping she would talk to me, but I'm not allowed in the field without her permission.
She's here? Mosura asked, looking around the flower field. Are you sure, I don't see her. Though she can sense another present no less. A sad present.
We bury ourselves underground when we want to be left alone. Look for the pink flowers, you can't miss them in a field of blue and purple. He said, gesturing to her to look around by moving his head. She's been out here for a few days, her Sire trusted me to watch her closely.
Mosura sighed in relief. Finally she was going to meet the Princess and took off into the air for a better view (and to make sure not to touch the flowers) She looked around, trying to find something pink that stood out or at least a small hilltop and spotted nothing. She huffed and lowered herself down till she was close enough for her wings to kick up grass, dirt and flower petals and spotted the small hill top of dead vines and twigs. That surely stuck out in a large field of bright, full-of-life flowers and flew towards it.
Hello? She whispered at the small hilltop with dead plants.
When she didn't get a word, she landed on top of the hill and looked at it grimly. What a mess. Nothing, but small dead trees and wilted up vines. She took a double take when she spotted a single pink petal dangling on one of the dead trees. A Pink petal? The Princess had pink flowers.
Persephone? She whispered while tapping the hilltop with her claw.
She nearly fell off when the hilltop started to shake and slowly lifted her higher above the ground and flowers. Her giant wings flew up high as she gripped the stone ground with her claws and feet when the hilltop took a sharp turn to the left before coming to a halt. Her eyes trailed over to the right to see a very tired young female mountain kaiju looking back at her over her right shoulder. The last pink petal broke up and slowly floated down to the ground where the rest of the dead petals were. What a shame. Mosura thought before swallowing. Persephone?
Confused, the young female spoke. Yes…...Mosura?
MQB: One chapter down, one more chapter to go. Sorry for my OC Persephone not around much in the first chapter, but I thought it would be better to form a slow build up since Mosura never met her before and didn't want to rush the story. Also if it seems like the story plot is a bit confusing, that usually how rumors are between characters, but you'll get to hear the whole truth from Persephone' perspective.
Foreshadowing: My most favorite type of writing. Did you catch all the funny hints?
Other then that I hope you'll like the first chapter. You know me, I love feedback weather it's good or bad.
Take care everyone and stay safe. Peace and Love.
