Miss Queen B: Good Day all you wonderful Readers, I hope everyone is doing well and staying cool. This summer has been a HOT one here in Texas and humid. Ugh. I'll keep this short because I'm a little upset with myself that it took me forever to get this chapter done, so Notes:

Note One: Due to so many request and the fact that it took while to post this chapter, the story has been extended to three chapters instead of two. Good thing I had a lot of materiel to work with and it helps that a lot of readers were very happy with all the OC's I created so it gave me a chance to add some extra scenery here and there. Plus it's my way to say sorry for not updating sooner. For the last couple of weeks, I was going through a very bad Burn Out due to long hours at work and a busy life in this summer heat that all I wanted to do on my free time was sleep. I was finally able to take some time off and now enjoying so much needed resting time with my family.

Note Two: Thank you so much for all the reviews and for liking the OC's I created. That's saying something because creating OC's can be very difficult, at least to me that is especially in this story since there are so many due to the fact Gojira and Mosura are visiting a Herd.

Note Three: So about this chapter: We visit Persephone's past when she finds about Tyr's death and the time when she was told about Zeus and the "Arrange Courtship." Mosura and Persephone talk and learn some things about each other while Mosura figures out how exactly is she going to help Persephone. It seem like Persephone only way to seek closure is to ask Mosura for a very risky request.

Enjoy.

Part IV

~And like a petal falling from a dying flower

I fell for you

Knowing it'd never work out anyways.~

~Unknown.

~They say a flower can't grow

Without a little rain,

But isn't it also true

That too much rain

Kills the flower?~

(Flashback)

Sunrise was always the best time for young female Mountains like Persephone. The air was fresh and crisp and the bright rays from the sun would make their worn down flowers bloom with new life. Which was exactly what Persephone needed after witnessing her world crashing down around her yesterday. Never in her life did she think she would act the way she did. Screaming and crying and throwing things while the rest of the Herd watched as she confronted her Mate-to-be about his Dirty Deeds. She can still hear the whispers and gossip from her Herd over it. They were just as confused and stunned like she was, but unlike her, they couldn't figure out what was worse. The fact that one of their own laid with a Parasite of all things or the fact Persephone had no clue what was going on. Engraving the Title of "Little Fool" forever in her name, like a craving on a stone.

Her Flowers were dead. Too much stress, despair and anger ruined her once lush vines and thick flowery trees. What a shame. She was known for her sweetness and beauty…what would her friends and family think of her now…after everything that happened yesterday. She wanted to feel something, something joyous to bring the life back to her flowers, but the only thing replaying in her head was the fight she had with Tyr and the last thing he said to her before he was forced to leave. Once the adrenaline and sobbing subsided, she instantly regretted forcing him to leave because there was so much more she wanted to say and thought once Tyr cool off he would come back. A prideful male like him wouldn't just leave, he would either come back to fight or try to prove himself worthy again. Either way, he would come back.

But that wasn't the case for Persephone.

Even the Sunrise couldn't help or protect her from the awful news her Sire told her a few minutes ago.

Dead….

She turned away from the sunrise to stare at her Sire and his companion Methuselah. Methuselah looked like he didn't want to be there, not after witnessing the awful fight between her and Tyr. No doubt he was here for support while her Sire told her the bad news. More like a confession by the way Methuselah kept pressuring her Sire to speak and the guilt looked on his old face. Her Sire and her always had a good relationship since they only had each other after her mother was killed by the Fallen Star. He would never hide things or do things that would hurt her and would always trust her judgment. All that changed when Tyr became a permanent placement in her heart and will forever break that special Bond she had with her Sire.

She could literally feel the last bit of life and water drying out in her flowers and vines. Dead….she asked again, to make sure she wasn't just hearing things. When her Sire nodded softly at her, she slowly shook her head. It's not true….Taking a step back from the two older males….It's not true…

Her Sire swallowed, looking over at Methuselah who gestured at him to continue. We found him by the lake….from the looks of it he was ambushed and-

NO! She shouted, looking at the ground covered in dead pink petals as her vision started to blur. He was here yesterday! He left unharmed! How could he be dead! She shouted, and turned away from them. It had to be another Mountain Kaiju, Tyr wouldn't let himself get killed!

It was him! From the looks of it, he was meeting up with the Parasite again because there was a dead female near his body. His Sire continued, There's no doubt in my mind it was him-

She snapped. The sorrow and self-pity she felt was replaced by guilt and pure rage. YOU DID THIS! YOU HAD HIM KILLED! She screamed while ramming her tiny body against her Sire. Her Sire was twice her size like any normal full grown males were, but somehow she managed to push him back to the point he had to kneel. Persephone never thought she would strike her Dear Sire, but something in her just broke. I know you didn't like him, but how could you kill your own Kind!

She managed to strike him in the face with her dull claws before Methuselah got between him and forced her to get back. Still, she tried to get around the massive kaiju, but Methuselah was a hard one to dodge.

Bleeding from the snout and bewildered, her Sire didn't lose his temper. It wasn't me. I would never-

LIAR! She screamed at the top of her lungs. Causing tiny birds to fly away. I heard you! You told Methuselah to go after him. You wanted him dead! How could you!?

She was then pushed down to the ground by Methuselah's strong arm and kept his claws firmly on her back to make sure she was pinned. The tears were pouring this time as she tried to break free. Going as far as trying to bite and hit Meth in order to let her go, but her Sire's Companion didn't budge. He just remained motionless and quiet.

It wasn't ME! He was split wide open with dead parasite eggs all around him. The Parasites killed him! It was his own doing! Her Sire shouted while wiping the blood from his nose.

She tried to get up, the only thought was to hit her Sire again, but her eyes trailed up to Methuselah, who finally showed a little remorse for her situation. He whispered to her to calm down so he could let her go and she just laid there in the dirt. Dead;...The only male she ever loved was dead and it was her fault. She forced him to leave and sent him to an early burial. No….She said to no one in particular. No….

Her Sire sighed. I'm sorry, my Dear. He said, but it was more for the fact she was sad and not over Tyr's death.

She looked up at Methuselah, desperate. Please tell me he's lying…

Methuselah shook his head and let her go. Even though free, she just laid there, feeling dizzy with a weird pain growing in her chest. I…my chest…I can't breathe…

Was she dying?

She felt her Sire nuzzling her while Methuselah took a few steps back to give them space. Calmly begging her to stop crying over someone unworthy of her tears.

She'll never look at the sunrise the same ever again….

(Years Later)

Persephone was never the jealous type or held resentment towards others, but even she couldn't help, but feel a small pang of bitterness watching her friends and fellow females grow in life while hers felt trapped in the past. All of the females were already paired up with males and living their happy days as mates and starting families while she was left to only smile and support those in need. Granted there were still plenty of males left in the herd that were waiting to find the right ones and some even came to her with proposals, but she flat out declined. Not that there's anything wrong with them, they were strong, brave and changed for the better after being trained by Methuselah, she simply didn't trust them. She grew up with them and they were friends with Tyr and sadly, knew what Tyr was doing behind her back and didn't bother to tell her. They had their excuses: saying they feared what Tyr would do to them if they snitched and the fact she probably wouldn't believe them. Even if that was true, they still knew. None of them stood up to tell Tyr what he was doing to the Princess was awful. In fact they would just stand there and listen to Tyr while he brags about having two females so in love with him.

After his death, she really thought things would get better and at first it did. She had her friends for support and a Herd to help out and watch over to keep her distracted. Her flowers grew back slowly and she was feeling happy til the rumors started. Every so often a new Mountain kaiju would wander into their pack to either join because they had nowhere else to go or just to rest for a day before traveling on to their next destination. It didn't take long for kaijus to talk and spread words about the crazy stuff that went down in their herd. After all, it's in every Kaijus' nature to gossip with strangers and boy, did her Herd have a story to tell. It's not everyday you hear about a Mountain kaiju sleeping around with a Parasite. Not only cheating on a female, but a Princess no less. Why go after a rotting corpse when you have such a Prize waiting for him at home? It was so bad that a lot of Mountain Kaijus began to question her since the main male was dead and gone. Soon everyone looked at her with such pity and disgust. Tearing her honor into pieces with each nasty rumor and making her feel and look "Used" and Disgusting.

Suitors used to flock over to her Herd in hopes to win her heart and to get her Sire's permission to court her, but now they only find her "Tainted." The Poor Soul who probably caught an infection or disease from Tyr thanks to him being with the Parasite. How sad to be damaged with such a pretty face. That's just the way it worked in their Species, they would save themselves for their soon-to-be mates, and it was important for females as well as the males. Anything less would be unacceptable. Those like Methuselah, who chooses to stay single for life, tend not to follow that little traditional rule.

She would put on a brave face, she did not want rumors like that to tear her down, but they were and it didn't help that her relationship with her Sire was falling apart as well. There was still love there, but he was hiding something from her she so desperately needed to know. A secret no one was allowed to tell her for her own mental health and safety.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard footsteps coming towards her. Standing on the outskirts of her flower field, watching the flowers dance thanks to the wind, she felt her Sire sit down next to her.

The two remained silent for a few seconds before her Sire spoke. So I heard Aoide is Carrying.

She nodded. Hence the reason she was here in her flower field. She was very happy for her friend. Aoide wanted nothing more than to be a mother and she found a good male to look after her and their future calf. Yet, it was still bittersweet. Here she thought she would be courted, mated and taking care of a calf of her own by now. Yeah, she's been noticing her senses heightening and Bala and I could tell her scent has changed as well. She's really excited.

That's wonderful. It's great to see little ones running around again. It's been decades since we've seen healthy calves. Her Sire said, smiling before taking a deep breath to relax. What about Bala? She doesn't look that interested in our Males.

She giggled softly, Sire, Bala has her heart set on a Spiked Kaiju. She goes over to his Herd to see him every couple of days.

I see. Well, whatever makes her happy. Is she planning on migrating over there to be with the Spiked Kaiju?

She frowned because she recalled talking to Bala about that a while back when Bala mentioned the Spiked Suitor. She wants to be with him, but she said it would be hard to make that decision since she doesn't want to leave her Herd and family so it's still up in the air.

Hmmm. Her Sire said, before looking at the ground. My Dear, do you remember that old Kaiju I met a few months back?

She finally looked at him concerned, thinking he was about to tell her bad news. Alpha Charon, yes, I remember him. He said I was really pretty.

Because you are, my daughter. You're as beautiful as your mother when she was your age. Till this day, I don't know what it was she saw in me, but I was so happy she gave me a chance.

Persephone smiled upon hearing the little happiness in her Sire's voice. He was so in love with her mother that even after her death, he refused to replace her with another female. He didn't have much left in him, but a lot of females prefer much older males since they have more life experience among "Other things" as the older females would say. They refuse to tell her about it since she was still young. Oh, how she missed those days where she would giggle and conversate with the other females in her herd instead of being the laughing stock now. So what did Alpha Charon want?

Her Sire smiled before giving her a soft nuzzle on her head causing a few of her pink petals to fall to the ground while some rested on his cheek. He came to me with a proposition…he wants to merge our Herds together, become one big community.

She smiled in excitement. That's great news, my Sire. What brought this on? I thought his Herd was doing well.

They are, in fact they are doing better than most Herds I would visit, but what they are lacking are Males. Most of the males were killed during the Fallen Star's time so they have a lot of females without mates and noticed our same predicament, but vice versa. He thought now that the world is at peace, it would be a great time to bring new calves into the world.

So are they moving here with us or are we going to move to their Turf.

His land is bigger than ours and safer. They don't live near any predators and are allies with a flock of Serpent-Birds nearby.

She noticed a rather nervous look on her Sire's face. If this is such wonderful news, why do you look nervous? She asked.

He took a deep breath. Alpha Charon is a very traditional male and believes an "Arrange Courtship" will form a strong bond between the Herds.

"Arrange Courtship?" She asked, standing up, confused.

Yes….I was talking about you to Charon, all good things-

Sire! Persephone cried in embarrassment. Sometimes, you can be so embarrassing.

I don't see how. Charon's eldest Heir showed interest in you and asked my permission to court you.

Persephone didn't know what to say, what could she say. After years of getting trample by gossip and rumors, there were still some males out there that were willing to see her suitable to court…still there was that one thing…What did you say?

I'm not going to lie, it made my heart soar. Now there's a Proud Young Male, kneeling down to me and asking for my permission to court and protect my only daughter.

She slouched a bit, letting her pink flower buds dangle in her face. Sire, I don't even know him…my goodness, I don't even know what he looks like….yet you're asking me-

He's a great male, my Dear. Strong, a great fighter and shows respect. The only flaw I can see in him is his ego, but hey, half the males I know have big egos and something like that can be easily tamed with the right female by his side.

How could I love someone I don't even know? She asked, looking at the ground while feeling stupid. If she said that to one of her friends or someone in her herd, no doubt would get a sly remark about loving Tyr so much even though she didn't really know him. As far as she can see, her whole relationship was fake the moment he wooed her to say yes to his proposal.

Her Sire sighed, Persephone, I love you and I would never pressure you to do anything you don't want, but….look at it from my perspective for a second. I'm getting old, my time on this land is getting shorter with each passing day. I want to rest in peace knowing you're going to be taken care of. You think I don't know what's going on with the Herd and what others are saying about you. Thanks to that disgrace Mountain kaiju and his parasite Fling, you're the one taking the hits. This Suitor doesn't know what happened and sees you the way I see you. A beautiful, gentle soul. I know you never met him and I'm not asking you to force yourself to love him, but he's in the same predicament as well and willing to work and see where this courtship will go if you are.

She closed her eyes, feeling cold all of a sudden as if getting visited by an angry spirit. As if Tyr was watching over her to make sure he couldn't be replaced so easily by a stranger. It wouldn't be fair to the Suitor, Sire.

His name is Zeus and why wouldn't it be fair. Why must I always remind you, you are worthy, Persephone.

She looked directly into her Sire's eyes and it didn't take long for him to figure it out. His gentle face slowly turned into disappointment. No…Persephone…

She turned her back on him because she felt ashamed. I'm sorry, Sire.

Don't say it, it's been years-

I know-

He was a disgrace. He went after Filth because you refused to give in to his advances. He couldn't wait or court you properly. He couldn't respect you enough for you to be ready.

I know, but-

-He told you himself, he never loved you. The moment you kicked him out, he went back to that disgusting Parasite! How could you still harbor feelings for him!

I don't know, Sire! She screamed. I keep telling myself he's gone and all the cruel things he did to me, but I feel it in my heart. I still love him. He may have seen what we had fake, but to me, it felt real.

Unbelievable Persephone! Now her Sire was angry, You told me yourself you wanted to move on and put this all behind you. How in the world are you going to do that if you keep letting him run your life. Why must you waste yourself away for a Nobody like him!

She turned around to face him with resentment and tears, You don't think I want to move on and be my old self like before! I can't help the way I feel, Sire, but it might help if you tear away from your Pride for one second and tell me where his body is! She shouted.

Despite being declared a Dishonorable male, her Sire and some of his companions took Tyr's body away from their home and buried it in an unknown grave. They didn't want the corpse to attract other predators and her Sire didn't want it to rot around his beautiful land. She begged her Sire to know the location so she could visit it and get the closure she needed, but he refused. To him, if she knew where his grave was, she wouldn't be able to move on and forget about him.

We are not having that discussion again, Persephone. There's no need to see his grave. I'm doing this for your own good.

It's my fault he's dead! He may have hurt me, but I killed him!

The Parasites killed him! Not you! Them! They killed him and their own kind for their forbidden relationship! You don't owe him anything!

He was right, she knew that in her head, but the heart was a whole different story. She didn't know why she wanted to see him, but she just needed to. Something in her gut was telling her she needed to see him one last time. She sighed and let a few tears fall to the dirt. I want to be happy again, Sire. She whispered, thinking about her friend Aoide and the little family she was creating with a Mate who loved her more than anything in the world and Bala who was enjoying the fun of romance and falling in love. She wanted that after years of being lonely and empty. Despite Tyr's betrayal, she was so happy when he was around. He played her well and now, look at her. How can she love and hate a kaiju at the same time, it just didn't make sense. How can she learn to love again with this dark cloud over her head?

The anger in her Sire's face died instantly and he frowned. I want you to be happy as well, my dear….that is why it's important for you to move on from Tyr and the only way to do that is to forget he ever existed.

She shook her head. You make it sound so easy, Sire….If that was true, then it should've been easy for her Sire to move on after her mother's death and learn to love again….but he didn't.

I'm not saying it is, but maybe this new Suitor is Nature's way of telling you that time is now. He said, stepping close to her to nuzzle the top of her head with his snout, ending it with a small kiss between her eyes. Persephone sighed and pressed her forehead against his for support and comfort. Her Sire sighed again, I just want what's best for you, Persephone. Give this Suitor a chance. Who knows, he might surprise you.

She slowly opened her eyes and couldn't help, but take in all of her Sire's features. It was true, he was getting up there in age and unlike his companion who dedicated his life to stay fit and strong, Time was showing in his looks. His horns were getting brittle, the cracks and chips were an indication of it and they weren't as sharp as they used to be. He wasn't growing in as many trees and there were a few patches of grass that were permanently yellow and brown. Her Sire had a long, hard life taking care of himself to taking care of her all by himself while protecting the Herd from extinction during those dark centuries with the Fallen Star. Soon it would just be her looking after the Herd and having everyone come to her to lead and to protect. A Herd could only be run and thrive by a Strong Muscle Male and a Full of love and Compassion Female and if there's a Suitor out there willing to give it a try with her….

You're right, Sire. She said, taking a few steps back to look at him directly.

Her Sire blinked, I-I-I am? He questioned since she couldn't remember the last time they actually agreed upon something.

Yes….I…I can't waste my time away being stuck in the past and…with my friends moving on in life, I don't want to be that Pitiful "Tainted" Female everyone is saying about me-

Please stop calling yourself that unless there is something you really need to tell me….Her Sire groaned, referring to whether the rumors were true or not about her "Pureness."

She blushed, they were close, but the topic of mating and reproducing has always been uneasy to speak about with her Sire. He actually had Bala's Mother explain the whole concept of it the day after her flowers bloomed for the first time. A telltale sign that the female was ready to bare calves. Bala's mother, rest her soul, was a very straight forward female, so she didn't sweet-coat it over the topic. Mountain Kaijus were very honorable species, we tell the young females as well as males to save themselves for only one. A perfect gift to give to each other as mates. Don't be like those other species that go through different relationships before settling down or worse those Disgusting Female Breeders that only use their males for their Seed. You want Mating to be special and sweet. Sire, please don't interrupt, she said, hoping to stay away from that topic.….I want to be happy and as the Princess I want to do right with our Followers. That's the whole point of being an Alpha, right? To do what's best for the Herd.

Yes, that is true, but-

Then what are we waiting for? I need to find my friends, polish myself up and do something about my vines because I can't meet a wonderful Suitor looking like this, right?

Her Sire had that look like most Sires would have when it comes to dealing with their Daughters and their rant about beauty: He wasn't sure how to answer that without getting his head bitten off. It's times like these no doubt he wished his mate gave him a boy. I suppose.

Good. She said, feeling pumped from all the sudden excitement. She needed to think happy thoughts in order to get her flowers bright and healthy. Part of her was actually getting a thrill, maybe this will work. Maybe this Suitor will be the one to bring her back to life in a way. Maybe he will be her next real love once they get to know each other. Maybe, maybe, maybe there were so many maybes in her mind and the only way to answer those Maybes was to take that chance. So when do we meet…Zeus?

Her Sire chuckled from the sudden change in her. Well, it will be a while. Apparently Zeus is off on a Self-Discovery journey and not sure when he's going to be back. The Young male wants to gain some life experience before taking over his Sire's duty as the new Alpha. Afterwards he'll be coming down here with Charon and his little brother to meet you and the rest of the Herd.

Sounds fine to her, that will give her time to let everything sink in and get herself ready for the big meeting. Wonderful. She said, looking back at the field of flowers in order to steady her rapid heartbeat. I hope I make a good impression….

Part V

~...Baby, I don't know why you're treating me so bad?

You said you love me, no one above me

And I was all you had

And though my heart is beating for you

I can't stop crying

I don't know how I allow you to treat me this way

And still I stay…~

Mosura blinked from Persephone calling her name. You know me?

Oh Dear! Persephone whispered quickly while backing away from Mosura as fast as she could, knocking off the small Moth in the process. She turned her back on the colorful Moth and sighed. Please, don't look at me. I'm not myself at the moment.

Mosura sat up, blew a few blue petals out of her face before adjusting her wings after the rough fall. It's Ok, Princess. You don't have to hide from me.

Don't call me that either. Persephone sniffled. That Title has brought nothing, but trouble to me.

Mosura nodded and looked at the flowers crushed by the Princess' sudden movement. Fair enough. It's nice to meet you, Persephone, I've heard some much about you though I'm a bit lost how you know me.

Persephone lowered herself down to the ground as if trying to curl up into a ball. The Elders speak highly of you. They would tell the Little Ones all about the beautiful Moth that would visit them when they were young. So caring and lovely and the only one that can live forever.

Mosura slightly blush from the complement. I do travel around the world, but living forever isn't something I would brag about. It has its charms, but drawbacks as well. You grow close to someone only to watch them grow old and die while you stay the same. She said, figure to use these to break the ice. She suddenly felt like her King and the uneasy feeling when trying to communicate with a stranger.

Persephone sighed, Not to sound rude, but is there a reason you are here?

Mosura started to fiddle her claws while she tried to figure out how to answer that smoothly. My King and I befriended your Sire's Companion a while back and-

Persephone's head shot up, but still didn't look at her. Methuselah?

She nodded, Yes, and he told us about your Sire and you and-

The Mountain Kaiju finally turned around. Wait, is he here? Did you and the Lizard bring him here?

There was so much hope in her dull, white eyes, Mosura couldn't help, but frown while her antennae drooped down to her face. No, he's not here. He actually sent me here so I can talk to you.

Persephone stared at her before letting her perfect posture slump. He sent you?

Yes, He said you were going through a rough time and thought you could use some support. What Mosura didn't expect was Persephone slowly turning away from her while muttering something underneath her breath. Her wings flared up when the Princess started to dig a giant hole, sending dirt and plunked flowers in her direction. Wait, Persephone-

Go away. Persephone whispered.

I'm sorry, was it something I said-Mosura asked, only to get smacked in the face by wet mud and roots.

I said go away! The Princess shouted before burying herself in the flower field, leaving nothing more, but a dead plant hilltop.

After spitting out the mud, Mosura walked over to the hilltop and awkwardly gave it a tap with her claw. Persephone….She started before letting out a small sigh…I know you're hurting, but everyone is worried about you that's why they send me here to help-

She took a step back to avoid getting hit by the Princess's tail. Please, leave me alone. Persephone muffled underneath the dirt before going completely silent.

Mosura wanted to protest, but delicate things like this can't be forced out and handled roughly, so with that in mind, she spread out her wings and flew back to where Stone was while blushing a bit from failing to get the girl to open up. Stone waited patiently for her to land next to him before speaking.

Any luck? He asked, though he was pretty sure the answer was no.

Kaiju, she hated mud, it's bad for her fur and her wings and makes it harder for herself to groom it out. She quickly wiped her face and looked at him. It was going well till I mentioned Methuselah was the one who sent me here.

Stone let out a small groan coated in frustration and shook his head. She looks up to Methuselah like a lot of young Mountain kaijus do. No doubt if he was here he had everything fixed by now.

Like how? Convince Persephone to go along with this Arrange Courtship.

He shrugged his shoulders, Maybe…I know he means a lot to her and will do right by her….or at least beat the shit out of my brother for nearly destroying two Herds and putting me in this position….or maybe convince my Sire we don't need a Arrange Courtship to combine our Herds, but the Old Male is stubborn and is more of a Traditional male. Boy, oh, boy, did he and my brother cause a storm when Zeus told him he wasn't going to go through with the Courtship. Calling Persephone "Tainted" and "Most likely caught a Muto's disease." and like always I was caught in the middle. My Sire put a lot of time and soul building up Zeus to be the best, the strongest and ready to be the next Alpha only for him to pull this stunt. That is so like Zeus, only cares about himself, he never gave a shit about what's best for the Herd and how badly this will help us get back to a great community like we were before the Fallen Star.

But you do? You care about your Herd?

Stone smiled and nodded, Yes, while my Sire was training Zeus growing up, my mother would look after the Herd with me tagging along. I got to know every single one of them on a personal level. From the elderly telling me tales of their youth to playing with the little ones and sparring with my friends to the Mature ones teaching me how to build up my strength for when my mountain back begins to grow. I got to know them from inside out unlike my brother, so of course, I ended up taking it very hard when we lost most of them to the Fallen Star and his Allies. I wanted to help so badly, but my Sire only wanted me to flee so I could look after all the females and calves. It was Zeus's time to shine and save the day.

Mosura nodded, So when your Brother turned down this "Courtship" you thought this could be your Day to shine.

Stone jumped from her assumption and quickly shook his head. No, of course not, I would never put a female in that position just to earn respect from my Sire. I'm more upset that he placed this on me. At first, I didn't want to because they were talking about Persephone like she was some prize to trade and I didn't really know her. Zeus was trained to take over as Alpha just like Persephone is, I don't know the first thing when it comes to being a leader and now I'm being betrothed and the next one to look after not one, but two herds. I don't know how to feel about it.

Mosura patted his arm with her claw to comfort him. Hey, it's ok. It's a lot of pressure and you're already showing some traits of being a good Leader by being Honest with yourself. Some are too prideful to do that because they don't want others to see them as a failure or weak. Even Alphas can make mistakes, but you learn from them and come back a better male for the Herd to follow.

He softly shorted, something her King would do when he's annoyed, but would still appreciate her kind words. Thanks for the encouragement, my Lady.

She smiled, Your welcome. So all this time you haven't talked to Persephone about this?

He sighed, No, I tried to, but after Zeus rejected her, she took off to come here. Her Friends and Sire tried to get her out of this field, but nothing worked. I really want to talk to her, but honestly, I don't know what to say. I know her Sire got her all worked up about meeting Zeus, why in the world would she give me a chance.

She beamed, thinking there's hope. Do you like her?

She thought that would make him blush, but instead Stone's face stayed firm. She recalled Methuselah telling her King that Mountain Kaijus are very prideful Beings where the Males never show reactions or "Female-like emotions" which would include blushing or being bashful. Stone cleared his throat. She's pretty like most of our females. When she met Zeus, she was blooming with pink flowers all over her vines and back. She looked so happy and I heard great things about her besides the whole Parasite thing. Talk about bad luck….I mean what was going through that male's mind getting involved with a Parasite?

I rather not. One thing for sure, I know my King had a good laugh about it and I can't really complain because it's rare to see him laughing and having a good time with a companion. My advice though, when you do talk to Persephone, don't bring up the Parasite Thing. I don't care how curious you are about it, if you don't bring it up that will show her to you it doesn't matter. This "Courtship" is about you and her.

If there's a Courtship. I'm not going through with it if she doesn't want to. That's what I'm going to ask: if she wants to go along with it, even if it's with a different male. Though, I won't blame her if she said no since someone of her status deserves the best.

And you don't see yourself as the Best Choice.

Stone frowned and laid down on the ground, giving Mosura a chance to see the vegetation on his back. Patches of grass were noticeable with the rest slowly growing in. He was growing in tons of trees unlike his brother, giving him a fresh scent of pine. The rest of his body and barely curved horns were covered in moss. All my life, I lived in my brother's shadow, I'm only the second choice.

Nonsense! Mosura said, walking around till she was right in front of the young Mountain and lifted his head off the ground, getting a surprised look from him. Being the Best Choice doesn't mean being the strongest or the most Prideful, it's about having a good head on your shoulders and having the confidence in yourself that you are worthy.

Before Stone could say anything, they were interrupted by a loud chuckle. Ha! That's one thing my little brother didn't get from our Sire, Lady Bug, that so-called Confidence.

Mosura looked behind Stone to see Zeus walking towards him with a smirk written all over his face. The dirt and blood on his face and body were long gone, freshly clean after a day of sparring with the other Mature males. She felt the vibrations of Stone's groan from seeing his older brother coming over.

Don't look too surprised though. Stony here has always been a pushover since we were calves. Zeus finished before stopping right next to them and giving Stone a playful push. Nearly tipping the younger brother on his side.

Zeus, it's nice to see you again. Mosura said with a dull smile. Despite her thoughts on him, she didn't want to be rude.

What do you want, brother? Stone asked, picking himself up from the floor. Mosura jumped on top of Stone's back in order to get a better eye view with the two males.

Zeus clicked his teeth, What's with the attitude? I'm only here because Sire wants to know if you're coming back for the evening meal. You haven't left this spot in three days.

I'm fine, we've gone longer without food before and besides, I'm keeping watch over the Princess.

Another chuckle escaped Zeus's mouth before grabbing Stone's right horn to give it a good shake. That's so like my baby brother. He's not even courted to the Damaged Goods and already Whipped.

Knock it off. Stone shouted while trying to pull his horn away from Zeus's grip.

Oh, now you want to act tough because the Lady Bug is here. He grins mischievously. Everyone knows deep down you're a Sweetheart. He then turns to Mosura. He's a sweetheart. Don't be fooled by that firm look.

I said let go! Stone protested only to have his face slammed into the ground in one quick move. Mosura nearly fell off, but was lucky enough to keep her balance. Stone growled, uncurling his long, sharp claws to prepare himself to fight, but Mosura got in the way.

No, no, there will be no fighting here. This flower field belongs to Persephone and you two will respect that! She said, calmly.

Zeus looked at her before looking down at his brother and smirked. Relax, Lady Bug, we're just playing and I'm here as a Messenger. He said, releasing his hold on his brother's horn. And if you don't want me to bother you again, just come back and get something to eat before I'm tired of Sire's constant bickering.

Mosura sighed and shook her head. Stone, why don't you go and get something in your stomach. I don't mind watching Persephone.

The two brothers blinked, both stunned that she would side with Zeus than with Stone, but it wasn't like that. Mosura just believes if there's no males around, the Princess might feel a little more comfortable opening up to her. Stone shook his head, I can't leave the Princess by herself.

She'll be fine. You really need to eat. Alright. She said, giving him her brightest smile before jumping off of his back.

Yeah, go get something to eat, you know how cranky you get when you don't feed, Stony. Zeus teased while giving his brother a push to get going.

Stone growled at his brother. I'll be back as soon as I can. He said, before walking back to the Herd.

What surprised Mosura was Zeus still standing next to her with his signature grin. She looked up at him and swallowed. Yes?

Sorry for my Brother, he can be so….pitiful. Zeus said, trying not to be so rude about it.

She wasn't buying it. No, no, he's fine. In fact, I think he's sweet.

Trust me, Sweet is not going to get you far in this world, Lady. He said.

Noted. Mosura responded, only to have Zeus continue to stare at her. Is there something you need?

He smirked. You said you've talked to the Little Princess's friends, right?

Yes? She nodded slowly and kept herself from saying "They don't think highly of you."

Look I know they don't like me and all. Whatever, I know they're just acting that way because they are trying to support their friend, but I was wondering if you could give a good word about me to the one with the Yellow flowers?

(Bala) She thought while her Antennas perked up. Seriously?

What? I'm just curious. I know the other one is about to pop so I can't touch her, but I don't see a male lurking around the Yellow Flower One so I just thought-

She turned her back on him, letting her wings flare up and form a wall between them. I'm sorry for interrupting this conversation, but I need to keep an eye out on the Princess, thank you.

Mosura was about to contact her King when Zeus snorted. Touchy…and here I thought you were nice. He said, before walking away while muttering the word….Females…underneath his breath. Once she could sense she was alone, she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. The sun was settling for the day, casting bright colors and shadows all over the land and it was absolutely beautiful.

Now for the hard part of the day…how to convince her King to stay longer.

00000000000

~Baby, I don't know why you wanna do me wrong

See when I'm home, I'm all alone

And you are always gone

And boy, you know I really love you

I can't deny it.

I can't see how you could bring to so many tears

After all these years…~

You want us to stay longer?! Her King asked in disbelief.

The sun was gone by the time her King tracked her down to the flower field in hopes she was ready to go, only for her to ask him if they could stay for longer. Well, I figure we just got here and in no hurry to be anywhere else so I thought-

We came here so you can convince the Princess to stop being a whiny little brat, what the hell happened?

Obviously, nothing or else I wouldn't be asking. She said, only to get a glare from her King.

Don't be smart with me, Mosura.

I'm not, really. I talked to her for a bit, but she turned me away.

Then it's settled, we'll leave in the morning, there is no point staying if she doesn't want help.

All I'm asking is a few more days, my Love. Don't see it as helping her, see it as doing Methuselah this favor. He cares about his friend and knows his friend is in a bad bind.

Her King scoffed and looked away with his arms crossed and tail swishing angrily on the ground. You're doing this out of the kindness of your heart, but what do I get in return?

Mosura tapped her mouth with her claw. What do you want? She asked, hoping it would be reasonable.

Normally he would smirk for trapping her in his bribery, but instead gave her a serious look. Scylla's little breeding cycle is coming up so I already know you're going to beg me to take you over there right?

She shrugged her shoulders, True, I'm not going to lie.

Well, we'll go, but I get to spend my time there in the ocean instead of guarding the place for predators.

That's insane, Scylla and her Sister-Pack count on you to keep their eggs safe.

I won't go out far, just contact me when you sense danger nearby, but I don't want to be around her or her little annoying brats.

Mosura sighed, hesitating to agree to his demand, but nodded in the end. Fair enough, it might make the visit less tense without you and Scylla fighting all the time. In return we stay for a few more days, please.

Her King snorted, releasing a small fog of warm air into the cool night while his eyes started to glow like the gold stars above. Now for the hard part, finding a private spot to sleep.

What's wrong with the spot here? She asked, since they were near a beautiful flower field and Persephone.

The pollen is making my nose hurt. He said, before leaning down and offering his claw to her. You coming?

She yawned, although she wanted to stay, it was a very long day and needed rest. Beside from the far distant she can see Stone waiting for them to either finish their conversation and leave or was too shy or fearful to be near her King. Yes, beside Stone is back so he'll watch over the Princess while the rest sleep.

With that, she crawled up his arm, something she would do when she'd be in her Larva form, and settled down on his shoulder with her wings covering most of his back. Once her King was sure she was good and ready, he took off to find a place to sleep for the night…..

Part VI

Mosura didn't know how long she was sleeping when she felt a gentle nudge on the side of her body. Letting out a soft groan and thinking it was her King trying to wake her, she slowly opened her eyes to see a pair of pure white eyes staring down at her. She nearly jumped when she realized it was actually Persephone staring at her.

I'm sorry for waking you, but I-

Mosura quickly placed her claw on her mouth to hush the young Princess before sitting up from her sleeping spot. Which was on her King's back between his largest plates that were glowing dimly with his blue light. A sign he was in a deep, peaceful sleep and the last thing she wants is for him to wake up with a stranger next to him. Stay quiet, you don't want to wake him up. She whispered.

Persephone quickly nodded and clenched her mouth shut while slowly backing away from the giant lizard kaiju. Mosura gracefully jumped off her King's back and looked at him to make sure he was still asleep. She sighed, feeling glad at the moment her King was a deep sleeper before slowly making her way over to the Princess. Persephone bowed her head. I'm sorry for waking you, especially this early in the morning, but I was wondering if you would like to watch the sunrise with me. She whispered in a pleading way.

Mosura tilted her head before nodding. Odd request, but if it gets the Princess to talk to her, there was no point questioning it. Of course, I would love to go.

Persephone smiled and it was that little act of kindness that made the vines on top of her head turn from yellow-brown to a light green. Great, I know a great place not too far from here.

Far away? She asked and looked around. Don't you need an escort?

She visited a lot of herds, packs and flocks to know that females with a high status tend to be escorted to make sure they stay out of mischief or to keep harm away. She was actually surprised Stone wasn't around. As if reading her thoughts, Persephone shook her head. Everyone is still asleep and well…Stone offered to escort me, but I declined.

Oh? You didn't want any bystanders.

She shook her head, No…I just didn't want him around. All he does is sit there and stare at me.

Perhaps he's just nervous. He told me, himself, he wants to talk to you about this Courtship.

Persephone frowned and started to walk away in order to avoid the topic. Mosura just stood there, confused and didn't know whether to follow her or not. It wasn't till Persephone stopped to look back when she got her answer. Did you change your mind?

Mosura perked up and flew up into the air to follow the Princess. They made it to a small cliff that had a trail leading down a large meadow of grass that went on for miles. Far away Mosura could see the sun barely peeking out from the horizon. The last reminding stars of the night were slowly fading away just like the tiny glowing bugs in the grass. A small breeze hit her fluffy face and she couldn't help, but take a deep breath of the fresh air. This is beautiful. She said, feeling calm.

Persephone laid down next to Mosura and sighed, Yeah, this is the best view to see the Sunrise. My Sire used to tell me this is where my mother would come to bathe in the warm sun. She said, in a tired voice.

I don't want to pry, but your Mother? Mosura wondered, since being here she hasn't seen another Pink Flower Mountain Kaiju.

Persephone gently shrugged, She died when I was a small calf, I was not even over a year old yet.

I'm sorry, but must've been unbearable for your Sire.

It took him a long time to talk about it, but it's the same story you hear from every kaiju during the Fallen Star's terror. They ambushed our Herd, but our males managed to fight back and for a moment, my Sire thought they were going to win when the Fallen Star retreated. Sadly, it was just a trick to go after the two things my Sire loved most in the world. My mother and I. It was all a game to them….forcing my Sire to choose which one of us should live or lose us both. I guess I could say at least the Fallen Star were good on their word since I'm still here.

I'm sure you miss her especially now when you need her the most.

Persephone sighed, It's hard to miss someone you didn't know. I was too young to remember her. I don't even remember what she looked like, though my Sire would tell me I'm a splitting image of her, everything from my facial features to the same shade of pink flowers on my vines. I know he took it very hard when I started to blossom, I'm sure he wished my mother was here to handle this mess instead of him.

You have to give him credit for trying. Shows how much he loves and cares about you.

Persephone frowned before looking down at her claws and Mosura could actually sense sadness and resentment coming from the young princess. I know he does, but sometimes that doesn't mean it's a good thing. The bond we used to share hasn't been perfect for a long time.

Oh? Why do you feel that way? Mosura asked.

Persephone stayed quiet as if she was trying so hard to hold back what she was truly feeling before exhaling through her soft snout. I need to apologize for my rude behavior yesterday. I had no right to shun you knowing you were trying to help. She whispered.

Not wanting to point out that she was changing the topic, Mosura just smiled. It's Ok, I understand you weren't feeling up for company at the moment.

It's not alright. You have to believe me when I tell you, that's not who I am. I would never turn away company, especially someone like you, but when you told me that Methuselah wasn't here…it just…I don't know…I feel like I was the main reason he won't come back and see my Sire. I wasn't exactly very lady-like around him. First, he saw me at my worst and when he was leaving, I tried so hard to convince him to stay, even going as far as…She looked away, ashamed to finish the last part of her statement….Well, I just made a complete fool of myself in simple terms.

Mosura was kind enough not to bring up what Persephone was talking about. When she searched through Methuselah's memories she saw the moment when the Princess gave Methuselah a kiss on the mouth and the very uncomfortable look Meth had on his face. Of course Meth was mature enough to turn her down without making things worse. She knew first claw how damaging it can be for a female after getting rejected.

How is he, by the way?

Mosura snapped out of her thoughts and noticed Persephone looking at her. She smiled, Oh Methuselah? He's doing well from what I see. He's staying with a Lizard Pack for the time being, helping the little ones learn how to hunt and just enjoy the peace.

Persephone smiled. Did he look happy?

I sense he is happy. He met someone in the pack and from the looks of it, they're getting very close….She said, thinking about the female lizard. Though uncouth in her opinion, the female was something to Methuselah by the way they would talk to each other and the hidden smirks they would portray to each other. Her King didn't understand it, but she did. Methuselah saw scars and boorish-charm in a female "beautiful" where some males found it in grace and pureness. The only reason why Methuselah adored Ceres and found Persephone (and her as well) annoying.

Persephone couldn't help, but chuckle a little bit. A mixture of amusement and bittersweet. I'll never understand my Sire's Companion. There's so much potential in him to be a great Mate and Sire and yet, he can't let himself open up to one and settle down. Even more shocking is that he doesn't see the beauty in his own Counterparts. Can you imagine? Not liking your own Kind?

Can't say since as far as I know, I'm the only one of my species, but if you want my King's opinion, he can completely understand what Methuselah is going through. My King was never accepted for being "Different" and they thought of him as an Abomination. He learned to move on with it and stay clear from all his species, even more now since they want him back in their lives since he defeated the False King. Methuselah once said he tends to stay away from his female Kind because they want more than what he can give.

The Princess shrugged, I don't blame them…all my friends and fellow females would tell me Strong Males will provide strong healthy calves. Methuselah is one of the best ones out there, so no doubt the claves he would sired will be extraordinary.

You could see it that way, in fact that's a great way to see it….um….I don't want to sound rude, but I have to ask….do you harbor feelings for Methuselah? She asked, feeling like they needed to clear the air on that rumor since Persephone's friends thought she did for the much older male.

The Princess didn't even flinch and slowly shook her head. No, of course not…I mean…I admire him, perhaps some would get that confused with love and hence why I did what I did, but….the only reason I was trying to reach out to him was because I thought with him here, he might fix this mess. I know my Sire misses him and after thinking about it for so long, I feel like I need to apologize for my behavior. The last thing I want is for him to think I'm nothing, but a problem.

Mosura sighed in relief. At least the Princess won't suffer for another reject since Methuselah was with another female at the moment. You know, I believe you don't need Methuselah to stop this "Arrange Courtship," if that's what you are implying. I mean if you just talk to Stone, I'm sure-

-I'm not against the "Arranged Courtship." Persephone interrupted. I'm a very traditional girl and when my Sire told me about it, it's not like he forced me to go along with it. He just told me the other Alpha is willing to share his turf with our Herd and form a stronger community. Alpha Charon wanted to introduce his eldest son to me and form this bond through a Courtship. My Sire gave me time to think about it and my friends were ecstatic over it. Just think: A new place to live, far away from the Muto's Turf, where it will be safe to raise the next generation of calves and give our single males a chance to find mates since our males outnumbered the females in our herds and as Bala puts it: I'll be matched with a strong, charming male. I mean I really thought it would finally tear me away from my past, that Zeus would be just as excited as I was when we first meet….Persephone smiled, but her eyes began to water up.

Persephone? Mosura whispered while placing her claws on the Princess's arm.

She sniffled. Those rumors…Some of my fellow Herd family can be very cruel sometimes, they got to him first before I did. He was charming in front of my Sire and his, but when we were alone to talk, he just took one look at me and laughed in my face. He told me there was no way he would touch something so "Tainted" and "Impure" He even asked me what in the world did I do for a strong, powerful male like Tyr to nest with a parasite. It would've been so much better if it was with another Mountain or a Spiked, but with something lower than scum and mold? He made it clear it was all my fault, if only I was better, and now I'm just Damaged Goods. Stupid me, I couldn't help, but cry and our fight ended up attracting Stone to see what in the world was going on. The last thing I heard was Zeus telling Stone to handle the "Courtship" himself and calling me a Charity Case. I was just tossed like meat to the next Royal Heir. I ran after that.

I hope you don't believe him when he calls you "Tainted" or a "Charity Case." Mosura said, using the tip of her wing to fan the tears from the young Princess's face.

"Tainted?" No….rumors can be so cruel and false and easily exaggerated….I'm not surprised others would come up with awful things like that. Though, I always wondered if it was my fault for wanting to wait that drove Tyr to do the unthinkable with the Parasite. He wanted…to complete the "Courtship" so badly without getting my Sire's Blessing….it was just a constant argument between us. She then chuckled…Sounds ridiculous, I know…

Mosura shook her head, Not at all, there's nothing wrong with your beliefs. I think it's sweet that you want to share that kind of Experience with someone you truly love. Sometimes I wish my best friend would go for someone like that.

Oh, is she like Methuselah? Choosing to live life without a Mate?

No, she's a Squid Kaiju so a Breeder. I would see males come and go in her life without a care in the world because the only thing that mattered to her was her eggs. I don't judge her, sure I joke around the subject, but would never belittle her and her ways. It's just hard for me to understand how she could be fine getting used like that. Where's the love and Bond in it?

Probably why a lot of Kaijus like my Kind have such harsh opinions about Breeders, but on the other hand, I'm sure they make fun of us for staying Pure and waiting for the right one.

They do….. Mosura said, remembering all the Chit Chats her and Scylla would have over Love and Sex. Even more so when her other best friend Quetz was around since each one of them had their own values over it. Scylla being a Breeder just saw sex as a way to get eggs. No more, no less and after doing it for so long, she developed a hard shell (Par nun) to keep emotions out of her breeding cycle. Quetz, on the other hand, were what kaijus called "Regulars." Where they didn't follow certain ways in their species and go out and experience before settling down. As Quetz would put it: "There's so many options out there, why settle down before exploring them." Quetz's been with a few males here and there before finally falling in love with her Mate, Amon and he was fine with her not being "Pure." Her King's Kind were somewhat the same where "Pureness" plays no factor when it comes to getting a Mate. And then there was her, the "Pure One" her best friends would poke fun at during her single days. She would get so many suitors marching over to her for a chance and she would decline every single one of them. Quetz would always make a wisecrack about her "Strong-Will."

(It's not just males that have "Urges" so why hold back when you can have fun?) She remembered Quetz's words while she secretly tried to get her matched to her more level-headed brother.

Part of her wanted to tell the Princess she can truly understand her situation since she was still "Pure" as well. Something her King never seemed to have a problem with even though they've been together for a while now. Neither of them wanted hatchlings since he didn't want to pass down the burden he grew up with and with her being Immortal, there's no reason to reproduce and outlive her younglings. Plus, as silly as it sounds, she didn't really have that Urge. How could you crave it when you never had it and her King never pressured her since he had that constant fear he might hurt her due to him having a hard time controlling his strength. It was hard to explain it, but they were happy with what they had and that's all that mattered to her. Besides, her King had other ways to show love and affection to her and that's saying a lot when it comes to someone like him. Sadly, if she mentioned it, she would be including her King and didn't want to expose private matters to strangers.

But you shouldn't feel pressured by Others' opinions. If this Tyr male didn't respect your wishes and wait….well, maybe that was Nature's way of telling you he wasn't the one. One thing for sure, you shouldn't blame yourself for his choices. Just like with Zeus, he just proved he wasn't th e one for you as well.

Persephone sighed before lifting her head up towards the sky so the morning sun could shine down on her pretty face. For a moment, her dead vines on her head began to move and turn color. Going back to joyous bright green with a few little flower buds forming. How amazing, Mosura thought since it takes a while for plants to grow even with all the radiation in the air. The Princess exhaled, Do you think I'm a Charity Case?

Of course not. Why would I? Mosura asked, stunned.

You're only here because Methuselah told you I needed help. Persephone said, before looking at her with sad eyes. It was enough for the tips of the vines to turn yellow and dry.

I don't see it as Charity. I always help those in need whether to heal a wound…or in your case, a broken heart. She said, with a sad smile which got Persephone to smile as well. Her wings flew up so they could flutter and shine in the sun. Letting the polished gold color in her King's eyes glow with pride. So how can I help?

Persephone flinched from the surprised question. What do you mean? I take it, you were going to do what everyone else is trying to do.

Which is? She asked.

You know, tell me to get over it and go along with the Courtship. She said, frowning, It's been years and I know my friends and family love me, but they're at their wits end with me. I can't talk to anyone about it anymore because they're tired of hearing about it.

Well, I'm new so if it helps you heal, you can talk to me and as for the Courtship, you have to remember, this is between you and Stone. Your Sire, Friends and Herd have no say in the matter.

It will help out with the Herd and give them a better life. That's what everyone in this world wants, right?

Ture, but what do YOU want? She asked, pointing a claw in the Princess's face. I want you to take a deep breath and tell me what it is that you want? What would make everything happy in your soul?

She took a deep breath before looking around to make sure there wasn't anyone around, but the two of them. The sun was up so most likely everyone is waking up and preparing themselves for the new day. Can I be perfectly honest…like really honest that you won't get upset.

Young One, I never get upset and trust me, I've heard it all. Another gift of being Immortal.

I want to move on. I really do and Stone is not that bad of a Kaiju, very quiet, but I figure he's just one of those strong silent types which is nice since most of my Herd Males are really chatty and full of egos…yet…I can't….if he knew….

Mosura was confused. Knew What?

The Princess looked away. It was the same problem I was having with Zeus and after the rejection…maybe that was karma punishing me because deep down, no matter how hard I tried or the countless times my Sire would fight with me about it…I still love Tyr…

Now Mosura gets it, Even after all these years-

-Please, I heard it all already from everyone. How could I still love him? He was awful, he was cruel and he told me himself he never loved me, so why? He's dead, he's gone, nobody talks about him anymore or even misses him. Every time I think about him, I get so sad and angry and confused. When I try to move on, I feel like he's watching me. There are nights I would dream about him and it's always the same scenario. I would hear his voice, but I wouldn't see him, he would be standing behind me, telling me I'm a fool for thinking I could replace him. That it's my fault, I was the one who sent him to a bloody grave and how could I do something like that to someone I still love. I would find myself spinning around in a circle, trying to face him, just to see his face one last time, but nothing. Years after his death and the only memory I have of him is him turning his back on me and leaving the Herd. She started to crack with tears again. Oh…kaiju, Tyr…despite everything…no matter how badly he hurt me…I would never wish for his death…

Hey, hey…Mosura said, jumping onto Persephone's back and giving her a gentle hug around the back of her neck….it's ok. You can't blame yourself for what happened or how you feel. He was the one who made the risky move getting involved with a Parasite and when it comes to them, there's no winning outcome. And I understand, it's hard to forget your first love. She said, hugging her even tighter.

The Princess sniffled. Really? Even though you know it's wrong to feel that way.

Well, I always say, you can't help who you fall in love with. Tyr was special to you.

She smiled, In a way, yes…I was so happy with him…I told him all the time how much I love him…only to realize now how much of a fake all of it was…

Mosura tapped her mouth with her claw to think. Do you think perhaps your guilt of his Death is the reason you can't let him go?

Before Persephone could answer that, they heard someone walking towards them. The both looked up from the conversation to see Alpha Dem yawning before putting on a gentle smile. Good morning, Dear…He said, before looking at Mosura. Lady Mosura.

Persephone looked like she just got caught doing something she wasn't supposed to before putting on a calm face. Good morning, Dear Sire. I hope you slept well. She said, gently.

I did indeed and even better now seeing you out and about.

I thought it would be nice to see the sunrise with Mosura. You know, trying to get my plants a little sun and um…entertain our guests. Hoping her Sire wouldn't say anything about her vines and plants being dead.

He nodded while looking at Mosura for some reassurance that everything was going alright. That his daughter was opening up and talking things out with her. I see Stone isn't around.

Before Persephone could answer, Mosura spoke up. I thought it would be nice to enjoy the sunrise with us females. You know, you can't have "Girl Talk" with a male present. She said, smiling. Hence why my King isn't around.

I see, but I always feel better if Persephone is escorted for safety reasons.

Sire, I'm not a calf anymore. I can take care of myself.

I know that, but what's wrong with being safe? Plus, it's a good way to get to know your Mate-to-be better.

Not wanting to get into it with her Sire again about the Suitor, Persephone let out a small snort and walked past him with Mosura still sitting on her back. Excuse, I have to tend to my duties.

Alpha Dem sighed, Persephone, I expect you to be polite towards him. He doesn't deserve this coldness. He said, trying to sound firm, but fair.

I know because he's a good Male. I heard it before with Zeus and look what happened.

Mosura stopped Alpha Dem from saying something and shook her head. The Princess was already hanging on by a string and the last thing she needed was her Sire intruding like he did. She can understand that he just wants what's best for his Daughter, but stuff like this takes time. She gave Dem a small nod before turning her attention back to the Princess.

Sorry, my Sire can be so insufferable. She said, moodily.

I think he's just acting like any Sire would. Mosura said with a smile. So what duties do you have to do? I'm sure we can get them done faster if we work together.

The Princess chuckled. It's not much, every morning I would help Aoide watch over the calves while their mothers go out and gather vegetation for the herd to eat for the day while the males hunt.

I've met Aoide, are you sure she's up for the task due to her carrying?

I said the same thing, but she wants to practice before her calf is born. Plus, Bala would be there as well.

Ok, but before we head over there, let's fix you up a bit. Mosura said, looking at Persephone's back full of dead grass and trees.

What do you mean? Persephone asked while stopping.

Mosura's eyes started to glow before jamming both of her claws right into the Princess's hill shape back. She was surprised Persephone didn't flinch or show any signs of pain only to realize she built enough layers of rock that she didn't hit actual flesh. Her claws started to glow, feeling her life slowly drain from her body and seeping into Persephone drop by drop. After a few seconds, she started to feel the Mountain kaiju's deep roots moving and grass growing out at a fast rate. She heard the Princess gasp from the site of her plants and trees growing back, her vines on her head coming in in layers and curls with her flower buds popping out everywhere.

Oh Kaiju…Persephone whispered, feeling alive after days of depression and self-pity.

Her flowers began to bloom, presenting themselves in their bright pink color with a very light scent. Mosura released her claws and sat there to admire the beauty of her work. Perfect, she thought. Even the trees were in full bloom with pink flowers(cherry blossoms). There…I finally get to see the real Princess Persephone. She said, turning her attention over to Persephone only to giggle when she saw the Princess's face covered in her long vines and flowers.

Persephone blew her vines out of her face, completely flabbergasted by Mosura's gift. But…but…how? How did you do this? She asked.

Mosura blushed from the surprise. I can heal. Whatever has life, I can heal them including plants. Persephone grabbed a few strands of vines to look at them only to be startled when she saw the tips slowly turning back to bright yellow. Mosura sighed, I'm sorry it's only a temporary fix since they are controlled by your emotions. I just didn't want you to see your friends or the little ones in a bad state.

Persephone nodded and took a second to calm herself. I'm sorry I'm such an emotional mess. I need to keep myself composed and collective. Either way, thank you.

Cherish it as much as you can. I can't repeat it too many times or else I'll be sent back to my egg. Mosura said since giving life to someone else also means she was slowly killing herself. You ready?

Persephone nodded, Yes, let's go see how Aoide is doing.

00000000000

~See, my days are cold without you

But I'm hurting while I'm with you

And though my heart can't take no more

I keep on running back to yo

See, my days are cold without you

But I'm hurting while I'm with you

And though my heart can't take no more

I keep on running back to you…~

Aoide was beyond happy to see Persephone again for more reasons than just concern about the Princess's well being. After greeting each other with a friendly nuzzle and good mornings, Aoide's whole demeanor changed due to raging hormones.

I can't take it anymore! There has to be something I can do to get this calf out of me! The female cried while trying so hard not to pull out her vines and dark pink flowers(Azaleas).

Persephone nervously smiled. It's any moment now, Aoide, you need to relax, too much stress is bad for the calf. She said, sweetly.

Oh that's easy for you to say! You're not the one carrying a giant boulder in your stomach!

The Princess let out a small giggle. True, but think of it this way. It will all be worth it in the end. Soon you'll have a beautiful little calf that will only know love, safety and a mother's gentle words.

Aoide sighed and it looked like she wanted to cry. I'm sorry Persephone. I didn't mean to be so rude. I'm just tired. I was up all night walking around due to all this discomfort with Bala and just a little cranky.

It's alright. I know the last few days haven't been easy on you.

Or you and I have no right to take it out on you or you as well, Mosura.

Persephone looked around. Where is Bala anyway?

Aoide huffed, She's still sleeping. I know I kept her up all night, but that's no excuse to be sleeping in. Did she really think I could handle the calves all by myself? I'm about to give birth here! I swear she can be so insensitive sometimes.

That's just the lack of sleep talking, Aoide. Persephone said, calmly.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what Adonis said too before running off like a coward to go spar instead of being with his Expecting mate!

Running off and going to spar to blow off steam are two different things. You know that. Look, we'll give Bala another hour or so to rest before waking her up and afterwards, you're going to take a deep breath and relax, alright.

Mosura noticed something, Um not to interrupt this moment, but where are the calves we're supposed to be watching.

Aoide's eyes widened when she realized that was the whole reason they were here this morning. She then giggled and moved out of the way for them to see her King lying there in his sleeping Spot with six little calves playing around him. Someone forgot to tell the Lizard kaiju this is where we take the little ones to play. He got a rather surprising awakening.

Mosura whispered to herself. Already sensing the annoyance and the vein pulsing in her King's forehead from all the attention. Good thing they were Little Ones or else the results of waking him up would've been grim. Good thing years of practice taking care of Scylla's hatchlings gave her King enough patience to deal with "Brats" as he would put it. Part of her couldn't help, but feel a bit giddy from the site though. The Calves weren't scared of him like some adults would be. One was having fun jumping over his tail while it swished left to right on the ground. Two were just sitting in front of her King having some sort of staring contest while another one practice his headbutting by ramming himself into the upper part of his leg. The last two calves were exploring his decorative plates on his back, even going as far as nibbling on the sharp points.

He was a little upset, but he said he didn't mind staying around because he wouldn't hear the end of it from you if he left….Aoide said to Mosura….Which I'm glad, this will be the first time these calves have seen a lizard kaiju in real life. They have yet to see other species outside our Herd.

I see. Mosura said, smiling while spreading out her wings. Excuse me.

She flew over to her King, leaving the two friends to talk and catch up on things, and landed gently next to the two little calves that were just staring at the moody beast in front of them. Her King's intense stare didn't make the calves shake or whine. In fact it only made them stare back even harder. One of the calves actually got up and growled at her King to show dominance despite being tiny with soft gray skin. The little one's skin has yet to harden into pure rock like his adult males in his herd, but still try to be brave in front of the different kaiju.

My King, are you alright?

His eyes and plates started to glow, getting a few gasps from the calves that were on his back and blew a few blue particles out of his snout. Mosura, why did I wake up to a bunch of calves circling around me? He asked, not in anger, but more annoyed and cranky.

Apparently, this is where they bring the calves to play. She said, smiling, I'm just glad you kept yourself from overreacting.

He leaned down at the challenging Calf and tipped the little one over with his snout with very little effort. Shoo, go back to your mother. The other calf laughed while Mosura helped the one on his back get back on his feet. The two scurry away, racing over to where Aoide and Persephone were as quickly as possible. Her King grumbled. Oh yeah, Mosura, like I would really hurt little brats for waking me up.

I wouldn't say hurt, more like making them cry from your cranky face. Mosura said, smiling in amusement.

Ha Ha, very funny. When are we leaving?

What's with you and wanting to leave? It's been months since we visited a Community and it's only been a day.

Her King flinched, Ow….He grumbled and lifted his tail up to see one of the calves dangling from it by his teeth. The other calves started to laugh and giggle while watching their playmate in glee….Brat, I'm not a food source so let go. He said, lowering his tail back to the ground so the little one could let go.

Look at you. You're a natural when it comes to having fun with Little Ones. Kind of makes you want to have some of our own? She said as a joke.

Her King gave her a look before noticing Aoide and Persephone. By the way, thanks for telling me you were going to leave this morning. He said, sarcastically. It was nice waking up to six pairs of eyes staring at me.

Persephone wanted me to go watch the sunrise with her so I couldn't say no. I would've told you, but I know how cranky you get in the morning so I let you sleep.

You know I don't like when you go off alone. He said, firmly.

I know, but things are different now plus it wasn't like I left the Herd. I couldn't say no, it gave us a chance to talk, my King.

He snorted before letting his eyes trail over to the two female mountain kaijus. So which one is the Princess?

The one that's not pregnant. She said, pointing at Persephone.

So what's the deal with her? He asked, before turning his attention to the calf that wouldn't stop headbutting his leg.

The poor dear is in an Arranged Courtship, but she feels like she can't go through with it. It turns out, she's still stuck in the past and can't get herself to move on from her first love.

Oh the male that was banging the filthy parasite?

Please stop saying the word "Banging." That's not helping and very immature.

I'm just going by what Methuselah told me. So what now? Are you going to convince her to accept the courtship?

I'm surprised you're so curious about her predicament? Mosura asked, thinking for once her King actually cared.

Not really, I'm just trying to find a quicker way to solve this, that's all.

She hit him in the face with her wing, which didn't do much, but get a smirk from him. My King, why is it so hard to show a little love and compassion?

He rolled his eyes before picking himself up from the floor causing the two calves on his back to jump off and the rest to run away. Fine, so what's the plan? What are you going to do to help her?

From what she was telling me, I think she's looking for closure in order to put the past behind her and move on. Sadly, the whole rejection she got from Zeus just made things worse, but I have an idea.

Alright, well, let me know how it goes, I'm heading to the outskirts where those Twins are. He said, before stretching out his back, legs and neck.

Oh? I thought you didn't like them. She asked, surprised.

No, I haven't been around water in weeks so a good soak in the lake sounds nice. Plus, there's only two of them which I can handle better than an entire Herd. Not to mention, I really don't want to get in all this female drama you like so much.

It's not "female drama," my King. I'm helping the Princess move on in life.

I know, Mosura, I know. He said, before taking off. If you need me, I'll be at the lake.

She nodded before fluttering her wings as her way to wave good-bye. Please be nice to the Twins. We are guests here, remember.

I can't promise you anything, my Queen. He said, showing off his sharp teeth.

She didn't want to argue since the longer her King can enjoy the peace and quiet, the longer they get to stay here.

Part VII

~Oooh, I trusted you, I trusted you.

So sad, so sad what love will make you do

All the things that we accept

Be the things that we regret

So all of my ladies

Feel me, come on, sing with me…~

Hours passed and soon the cool, bright morning was replaced with a warm, sunny afternoon before Mosura had a chance to blink. Not that she was complaining, she was having fun taking care of the Little Ones and mingling with Persephone and her friends. Oh how she missed being part of a crowd and having endless conversations and laughter. Granted she loved her alone time and traveling with her King, but even she needed to be around company every once in a while. Although her King would protest, he would still let her visit Herds, Flocks or Pack to mingle just as long as he didn't have to get involved. Just like him resting by the lake, he would often watch from the sideline and wait for her to be done with her visit. Unfortunately, taking care of the Little Ones didn't give her time to talk to Persephone again like they did this morning. She was left with the task to entertain the six calves while Persephone helped Aoide with her light exercise routine. Hoping a lot of walking and a gentle jog will trigger labor. She didn't mind, she love taking care of little ones since they were a rare thing to see during the Fallen Star's terror. They were curious little things like all Hatchlings(Calves) were, so she wasn't surprised with them gathering around her while taking interest in her colorful wings and glowing eyes. Aoide did say they've never seen other species of kaiju and with her being One of a Kind was a rare treat. During her time showing off her wings and shimmer dust and filling their developing minds with stories, Mosura would keep an eye on Persephone and couldn't help, but admire the young female. She was so thoughtful and caring when it came to taking care of her friend and was really nice and polite whenever another member of the Herd came up to greet her and talk. Far away, she can see some of the young males gathering in a small group before heading over to another part of their land for their daily sparring and exercise and could see the two brothers joining them as well. Zeus was eager to get things started while Stone dragged his feet while glancing over at Persephone ever couple of steps. She can tell by his face, he really wants to say something to her, but was too nervous and shy to make the first move. What a sweetheart, she thought, if only there's a way to get them alone.

Are you doing Ok, Mosura?

She snapped out of her thoughts and looked up to see Persephone standing next to her. She swallowed before smiling. Of course, just thinking too much, I guess.

Good thoughts, I hope? She asked.

Mosura glanced over at Persephone's vines and flowers, though green and lush, they were slowly dying, the tips that were bright yellow were now turning brown and dry. She was putting up a happy face, but something was troubling her on the inside. Happy thoughts, in fact. After living through centuries under the Fallen Star, it's so nice to see beautiful land with happy kaijus and little ones to continue the population. She said, while giving one of the calves a pat on the head. It just shows no matter what happens, life finds a way to go on.

Persephone smiled, but it was a weak little smile before saying, Alright Little Ones, who wants to go watch the Males spar for a bit.

All the calves beamed before running off in the direction where the Mature males were. Are you sure that's a good thing? I mean, I've seen the way Mountain Kaijus fight and would that be safe around the Little Ones?

Of course, I make sure they keep their distance plus it's normal for them to watch, especially the males. You have to start them out young in order to make them great Fighters one day.

Mosura nodded before jumping on Persephone's back. What about Aoide?

I took her over to Bala so she can rest. I know she wants to trigger labor, but it's not going to help her give birth if she's too tired. She needs all the rest she can get. She said, while following the Calves.

She giggled, I take it this isn't the first time you helped Pregnant females during their delicate time?

That's just part of my duty as the female alpha. With my mother gone, my Sire relies on me to make sure our Females and calves are taken care of. I make sure they are comfortable and ready for one of the greatest experiences in their life. There's nothing more beautiful than watching a new calf being born and hearing their first cry while being held by the mother that took care of them when they were in the womb.

She can hear Persephone's voice cracking from her kind words and her pace slowing down with each step. She came to a complete stop where there was nothing around, but grass and the sounds of the Males laughing, talking and cheering and rough housing nearby. Mosura didn't have to ask, she could sense it as clear as day the bitterness and slight jealousy of watching her friends grow in life and love while she was stuck. She can also feel the guilt for her feeling the way she does. Persephone, it's ok to feel the way you do.

Am I that readable or do you have the ability to read minds? She asked, sadly. I'm not the jealous type, Mosura and I'm very happy for my friends. One is about to be a mother and the other is enjoying a wonderful romance with a great male. A spiked kaiju from the Herd not too far from us and me…I really thought I would be part of that by now…

Like I said, it's ok to feel the way you do, Persephone. It wouldn't be normal if you didn't, but not everyone runs at the same pace. Your time will come.

You really think so?

Yes, I know so and to answer your question, I can read minds and I know how to use the gift properly. I can't build trust with kaijus if I abuse that type of power. And you're not as readable as you think you are. I just have very high senses.

Persephone looked over her shoulder with a creeped out face. That's scary when you think about it. So you can read anybody's thoughts just like that.

If I really want to, yes. All I have to do is touch their foreheads and I can see their thoughts, memories and even visit them in their dreams. Of course I don't do any of that without permission first.

Persephone blinked and clicked her tongue. Mosura can tell something calculating in the young female's mind. Can you control kaijus like the Fallen Starr? She asked, which got a shocked look from the beautiful Moth. I mean, I heard stories about it, that they can control other kaijus and can scramble up their minds to kill them instantly or drive them insane….

Mosura twiddled with her claws. Yes…I can…I only did it once when I was attacked by a predator hundreds of years ago. (Way before even her King was born) Normally if it looks like I was going to die, I would just…you know…die, but at the time, I didn't have an egg so in the end I had no choice. I didn't kill the kaiju, but he was never the same after the brain damage I caused him. I swore to never cross that line ever again. It's not strong since I don't abuse it like the Fallen Star, but I do know how to block them from controlling me or the King.

That must be strange for your Mate to live with. Knowing any given moment you can read his thoughts. Persephone said, in amusement.

He did at first, especially when he finally connected with me, but that's where trust is established.

You two connect? She questioned.

Yes, something kaiju with "Mind Powers" can do. When we connect we can feel each other in a way. I can feel and sense his emotions, communicate through our minds and share memories. In simple terms, we become One.

Wow, that must take a lot of trust. She said, only to frown a bit. I wondered if I had that type of power, to read minds in a sense, maybe things with Tyr would've ended differently.

Mosura jumped off the Princess's back to face her, placing her claws on her cheeks to grab her full attention. The flaw in that, Young One, is that you might not like what you see. Although me and my King are connected, he still hides certain memories from me to spare the gruesome details.

Persephone frowned, But I would know the Truth.

Yes, the whole truth in a way. The day he met the Parasite, the nights they shared, and the last thing he saw before his untimely death. If my King had a way to erase what he saw growing up, he would without a second thought.

But I would know the Truth. She repeated, standing tall,...And that's better than living with the "Whys" and "What ifs" like I've been doing. She said, before slouching down and looking at the ground. I know he told me he never loved me, but sometimes I wondered if he just said that to hurt me since we were in a very heated argument. What I found strange was when I asked me if he ever loved me, he just said no. He didn't even look at me or express any emotion, but when I asked him if he fell for the Parasite, he lost it.

He lost it?

Persephone nodded. Yeah, like he didn't want to admit it out loud since it's unheard of.

Maybe he was in denial. Mosura said, shrugging her shoulders.

I thought so too. As filthy as it sounds, maybe he did….The funny thing though and I only told Methuselah this, but I think I've met the Parasite before.

Oh? Mosura said, as the two continued to walk towards the plain field where the Males were sparring.

Yeah, that should've been a bad sign after replaying in my head over and over again. Tyr was doing guard duty at night for months and one night, I was really missing him so I snuck away to go see him. My Sire always told me not to go anywhere at night without an escort, but I just wanted to be alone with him. Instead of getting a happy greeting, he was stunned to see me and grew very nervous. Back then I was so much in love, I was blinded by the way he was acting. By the way he was treating me and the fact that I didn't see a pair of red eyes watching us the entire time. When we realized the parasite was watching us, Tyr didn't react right away. He didn't scare her off…the way they were talking to each other…they were actually flirting right in front of me. I still remember the smirk on the Parasite's face when she looked at me. She was mocking me. They both were in a way. That's why I'm so confused. Knowing all this, why do I still love him?

~...See when I get the strength to leave

You always tell me that you need me

And I'm weak cause I believe you

And I'm mad because I love you

So I stop and think that maybe

You can learn to appreciate me

Then it all remains the same

That you ain't never gonna change

Never gonna change, never gonna change…~

That's a question only you can answer, Princess.

That's easy for you to say. You're already settled. You and the lizard love each other very much. You trust him and by the looks of it, he isn't the type that would wander off in the middle of the night to see another female or lie. Kaijus like you and my friends are so lucky. She said, holding back the bitter tears.

Mosura should be upset for those sly remarks, but she kept her composer and allowed the Princess to vent her anger and depression. I would never consider myself lucky, Persephone, so please, keep those rude remarks to yourself.

Persephone lowered her head in shame and agreed. I'm sorry. I'm letting the ugly side come out and I don't like her. She said, before snorting softly. Just be glad and lucky, you'll never have to go through what I'm going through. Being in love with someone knowing it's wrong.

Mosura nodded knowing very well something like that would never happen to her.

They finally made it to the field where the Males were sparring and having a good time. The calves were sitting on the sideline with two adolescent males side by side while watching intensely at the fight. One of the adolescents noticed Persephone and laughed. Good afternoon Princess, you're just in time. Stone is up next against Adonis!

Sure enough where a giant circle was carved into the dirt stood the one called Adonis, Aoide's mate, bowing while everyone cheered. On the other side of the circle stood Stone, looking rather nervous from being in the spotlight. Right off the back, Mosura could see Adonis was older with much more experience than Stone, at the peak of his prime with a well-balanced amount of muscle and energy, but she recalled Stone not having much fighting skills since his parents put all their time and effort on his older brother. Still, Stone must have some skill in order to make it this far in life. From the looks of it, Stone was probably forced to participate in order to see what their Future Alpha is capable of. Poor Dear, being put in an awkward position was something he wasn't used to like his very confident Brother. Still he tried to look intimidated by puffing out his chest and flexing his broad, strong shoulders, but Adonis was too busy hopping left to right to hype himself up to notice.

Another male got into the middle of the circle and cleared his throat. Alright you know the rules, I want a good, clean fight. No blind spots, no cheap shots or help from our fellow members. First one pinned or knocked out is the loser. Got it!

The crowd began to cheer: Adonis! Adonis! Adonis!

You got this Adonis! Win this for your future calf!

Show the Outsider what you're made of!

Stone, you better watch out, he was trained by the great Methuselah himself!

Mosura spotted Zeus behind Stone, Come on, little brother, show them what you got…or played dead or something!

Mosura shook her head only to notice Persephone paying close attention to Stone for the first time. Her senses spiked from all the emotions she could feel coming from the Princess. Curiosity, warmth, uncertainty, doubt and shyness. Mosura can see it on Persephone's face: We don't know each other, so is it possible to build a life together?

The Male in the middle of the Sparring Circle begin to count. On Three….one….

Stone happened to look in their direction and noticed Persephone staring at him and he froze. Their eyes locked for what seemed like forever as if he was feeling the same way she was. Mosura couldn't help, but grin. What a great way for the two of them to take the first step, and she nudge Persephone.

.two…

Don't just stand there, Princess. Say something. She whispered.

Persephone snapped out of it, What? She asked, with her eyes still locked on his face.

Wave, cheer him on, something…just show him you noticed him.

.one…

I wasn't looking, She blushed only to realize Stone was still staring at her. Admiring her the way she never got from Tyr. Persephone slowly smiled back before slightly bowing her head at him. Their way to wave and to say hello from a distance. Normally, a female would make her vines dance to grab a male's attention, but she thought that would be too much.

His eyes grew wide and couldn't help, but grin to show off his sharp teeth….

FIGHT!

Adonis whammed his head and sharp horns right into Stone's chest, sending him flying backwards before hitting the ground hard on his back. Everyone went quiet from the sudden knock down that even Adonis had to take a step back to make sure he didn't kill the young male. The only sound was Zeus laughing before saying, Why am I not surprised by the outcome, brother?

Stone just laid there with his back stuck to the ground, too embarrassed to say anything or even look at the crowd or Persephone. Can someone please help me up?

Well, that stinks…A male voice said close to them.

The Queen and the Princess nearly jumped out of their skin when they realized there was someone right next to them only to realize it was one of the Twins she met yesterday. Ravi? Mosura said, jumping onto Persephone's back to get a better eye view of the male, How long have you been standing there?

I'm Ravi, Lady, that's Raijin. Ravi said, standing on the other side of Persephone and her which made them jump again from the sudden closeness.

Oh, sorry. Mosura said, blushing in embarrassment. Again, how long have you been standing there?

Long enough to see that knock-down Adonis did on the poor young male. Quite sad. Raijin said.

And funny. We're just glad to be here to see it- Ravi continued

-since it's not everyday we get to join a few sparring sessions-

-it's get tiring fighting each other since we can predict each other moves-

-and pretty much know how to heckle one another-

Boring! The twins ended at the same time.

Persephone cleared her throat. Um, guys, if you two are here…who's watching for Outsiders?

Gojira came by to bathe in the lake- Ravi started.

-kind of weird since he didn't want to talk to us- Raijin continued.

-so we decided to chit chat with him-

-Not really a talkative kaiju, he kept telling us he just wanted to rest-

-so we went back to talking to each other, but that was annoying him as well-

-really annoying. He said the way we finish each other's sentences-

-freak him out so he told us why not take a break-

-and let him watch out for kaijus for a while-

-How could we say no to that-

So here we are. They ended at the same time again.

Persephone nodded before rubbing her temples, Just be back at your post before my Sire gets back from the Hunt. You know how he gets if you two aren't there guarding our home.

Gojira said he can handle it himself. Ravi said.

But not to worry, let us spar a few times then we'll head back. Raijin added.

Persephone huffed, Fine, fine, go and have fun and tell the others not to give Stone a hard time over his loss.

Thank you, Princess. They both said, bowing before heading over to the Sparring Circle.

Well, I'd better head over to the outskirts to make sure my King is actually watching for Outsiders instead of sleeping. Mosura said, getting ready to fly till the Princess stopped her.

I'll go with you, if you want. She asked.

It's ok, I can go by myself, plus you need to watch over the Calves after all.

Right, right…Persephone said, and began to play with her vines as if something was bothering her.

Are you alright? I don't have to go if you still want my company.

She smiled. No, no, I don't want to keep you away from your mate.

Ok, I'll see you soon then. Mosura said, before flying up into the air. Feeling uneasy leaving the Princess behind because she can sense Persephone wanted to ask her something.

She was about to take off when she heard the Princess, Wait, Mosura, wait, I need to ask you something.

She looked down to see Persephone following her til they were away from the crowd. Mosura flew down and landed gently in the grass as Peresphone approached her. I knew it. Dear Princess, if you want me to help you, you can't keep things from me.

Persephone nodded and bowed to her. I know, and I'm sorry, but I feel like I'd be asking too much from you with this request.

Nonsense, what is it?

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. I want to move on, you know that right?

Right?

And I know I won't be able to do that because of my lingering feelings for Tyr. I know that very well and when I was looking at Stone and the way he was looking at me. There's no way I can hurt him like that, learn to love him with that lingering feeling.

Ok, I understand so far.

And I know this is going to sound weird, but I feel like the only way I can move on if I see Tyr one last time. I just need to speak to him one last time to end it once and for all. I need to find peace.

Well, I do know a way we can do that if you're interested. Though it will involve me going deep into your mind.

That sounds painful. Persephone said, before shaking her head. Sorry, I'm not used to mind powers and I'm not sure if I want something like that in my head, but I have a better idea. This is how you can help me. I want to visit Tyr's grave.

Her antennas shot up. Wow, I didn't know they gave him a proper burial.

No, more like my Sire didn't want his body to rot on our beautiful land. She said, a little bitter.

So you want me to go with you to his grave?

That's the thing. I don't know where it is. My Sire didn't want me to know in hopes he will be completely forgotten. Only he and two other herd members know where he's buried.

I see, but I'm not sure your Sire will give up the location that easily.

I know, that's why I need you to secretly read his mind to find the exact spot…

~Baby, why you hurt me,

Leave me and desert me?

Boy, I gave you all my heart

And all you did was tear it up

Looking out my window

knowing that I should go

Even when I pack my bags

There's something always holding me back…~
