Chapter 5: Meeting the "Sick Girl"
Ashford Academy - Student Council Club Building
In the Student Council Club, we see in the main lobby where many events take place such as balls and so on, like crazy ideas that Milly has cooked up. We see Lelouch talking with someone, the very same person who was suspected of him from his failed Geass second uses. The said person was a young woman with a slim yet strong build and fair skin. She had red hair that was down due to her coverup and big blue eyes that had a fiery passion in them, despite trying to look almost dead or sick. Her attire hugged her figure well and that was the schoolgirl's uniform while having long white leggings and shoes instead.
This was Kallen Stadtfeld, the "Sick Girl" student at Ashford who was secretly a rebel fighter and mostly likes to use her Japanese birth name, Kozuki when during her double life.
Now things were going good for Lelouch and talking with Kallen to join the Student Council but things got out of hand when his freinds from the said club came in. He was surprised to see Kiryu helping Milly push some food for the welcome party and that he was joining the club, being a bit glad for that.
Then things got out of hand for the exiled prince. His friend, Rivalz brought out some champagne for celebration for the two new members of the club, leading to a small tag of war with Shirley and later causing the said bottle to come out, getting Kallen and her clothes all covered in champagne.
Lelouch was lucky that Nunnally can't see the mess or unlucky, as he had a feeling that his little sister would laugh at that.
"You turn Kiryu," Lelouch thought, knowing that Kiryu would do the next part and was lucky of a secret blade was ready.
With Kallen
"This is why I hate Britannians," Kallen complained as she was taking a shower and washed her body clean off from the damn champagne that splashed onto her.
Kallen then heard a knock at the door, getting her attention.
"Come in, the curtain is drawn," Kallen called out while making sure the curtain was still covering her and kept washing.
Kiryu walks into the stack of clothes, spare ones on standby. Normally Sayoko was meant to do it but she was needed for something else after what he and Lelouch brought her, into the inner circle.
"It's me Kiryu. I brought some dry and clean clothes. It's Lelouch's as your clothes are still in the wash," Kiryu explained as he goes in and places the said clothes down for Kallen to get changed.
"I'm sorry for what happened early," Kiryu apologized.
"It's fine. There's no reason to cut back and relax. That was quick, did you go to the boy's dorm that fasts?" Kallen asked, noting how fast the travel between here and the dorm was.
"Nah, I actually live here along with Lelouch and Nunnally. The headmaster was kind enough to let me come to school here and Lelouch offered a place for me to stay," Kiryu explained.
"I see," Kallen said, seeing how this teen almost had the whole place to himself but not so much due to being Japanese and all.
The redhead was hoping to ask some questions and see if Lelouch was the one that helped her & her group back in Shinjuku. Maybe the raven hair teen or Kiryu? She wasn't sure but had to ask and get her answers.
"Well, I should get going," Kiryu said about to take his leave but was called back.
"Wait! Can you hand me my pouch?" Kallen asked, pointing at the sink where her pink pouch was located.
"Hmm, why? I don't think you need your pouch while in the shower," Kiryu pointed, having an idea due to what Lelouch warned him about if things go south and just follow the said plan to throw Kallen off when the phone rings.
"Just...just to check something! I need to see if my ID is alright for a quick second," Kalle quickly explained a good cover-up and would admit that the brown-haired teen was onto her pretty quick.
"Oh, okay," Kiryu shrugged his shoulders and went over to grab the said pouch by the sink.
Kiryu was a bit nervous due to going closer to the shower and that a young woman was taking a shower. He calms himself down and just goes forward. Being the gentleman he is, he turned his back and just slide in his hand with the said pouch in hand to give it to Kallen.
Then out of nowhere or knowing, Kallen grabbed the risk of Kiryu's right hand, gripping it with a firm grip, and soon got her pouch, which had a hidden blade within it.
"You are a firey one, despite being a sick girl," Kiryu commented dryly, still not looking.
"Are you and Lelouch in Shinjuku a few days ago?" Kallen asked or demanded to know as she brought her knife out, still unknown to the curtains, and can't see Kiryu's reaction due to his head being away from the line of sight.
"It's better now than later. Okay, here it goes," Kiryu thought, having his Geass activated and was a good thing that Kallen was behind the curtains so she won't see his right eye changing from calm forest green to this raging red color & bird symbol forming up.
"Huh? I am not sure as I took Lelouch to another one of his 'illegal' chess games against those rich idiots," Kiryu replied as his Geass showed him how his reply managed to calm the redhead down.
And brown-haired was being a little truthful as Lelouch and himself are planning to do a chess game in Babal Tower soon to gain more resources & money in the future.
Kallen started to calm down and giggled a little at how Kiryu referred to rich people as idiots.
Kiryu was a bit surprised by that and saw that his Geass had some form of future sight. He needs more tests.
"Do you have any connections...with rebels and about the last incidents in Shinjuku?" Kallen asked, testing the waters and how some people from Japan often do. That could be why Kiryu is in Ashford, connections maybe?
"I know nothing of it," Kiryu replied, which he saw with his Geass of Kallen becoming more suspicious and then felt the grip on his wrist a bit tighter, to his surprise.
The brown-haired teen found a limitation already and need to throw the suspicion away.
"I had well used to have some friends in the rebel cells since I am Japanese as well. However, they were killed not so long ago which made me realize that place in the Ghetto wasn't meant for me. So, I later meet Lelouch and got enrolled in school to live a normal life as I can," Kiryu explained.
Kiryu saw that his answers, with his Geass, made Kallen on edge a little and that he wasn't hiding anything. He then decied to deactivate his Geass for now and would have to tell Lelouch or CC of the limitations he found.
Kallen was on edge and can tell that Kiryu wasn't hiding much, even if he was actually but she understood now. She too knew of the loss of those close to her and hearing what he said, made her release him.
Kiryu rubbed his wrist due to the soreness and how much Kallen had gripped his said wrist.
"I am not sure if there's someone I can trust in a school filled with Britannians," Kallen admitted.
"Yeah...I know how you feel. I am still having a hard time here at school," Kiryu said, understanding and can be hard for some people, like himself and Kallen but different.
Kiryu has to deal with those that hate the Japanese and view him as a terrorist.
Kallen has to be a sick girl and used the mask that she was weak but hates that life and rebels against Britannia in her double life.
"If you ever need someone to talk to, Kallen. I would be there for you," Kiryu offered, sounding like a friend would say, not one of those fake freinds she has at school but something else.
Before Kallen could say anything, the phone rang which surprised them.
"I would get it," Kiryu said, already knowing who it is but playing it smart and asnwered the said phone.
"Yes, hello? Hmm, I see, okay. It's for you," Kiryu said, hanging the phone to Kallen, being lucky the curtains were still up and that the phone plug was long enough for her to talk to whoever is calling her.
"Hello?" Kallen asked, wondering who can be called during school.
"Good to see you are alive Q-1," A mysterious voice spoke, causing Kallen to freeze in surprise.
"It's you!" Kallen nearly shouted.
"Yes. Two days from now, sixteen hundred, Old Tokyo Tower's Observation Platform. You and others in the rebel cells of your choice can come. My parnter and I shall explain everything," The mystery voice explained, before hanging up to Kallen's surprise.
"Hey! Wait a minute! Damn it," Kallen cursed, a bit disappointed that she didn't get more answers but would have to tell Ohgi and others about the information she was told. A meeting was going to take place in two days.
"He hung up on you huh? Yeah, he can be a bit dramatic and mysterious," Kiryu commented as he took the phone back, not looking.
"You know him?" Kallen asked.
"No actually. I just got a call from him a few days and told me to be careful of looking at stuff about Shinjuku due to not hearing from old friends. That could be why Lelouch told you to not mention Shinjuku, you don't know what kind of stuff someone shows on the internet these days," Kiryu explained, which was very reasonable and a great coverup.
"I see, that does make sense," Kallen admitted but was going to ask if Lelouch was still at the main ballroom area. Just in case.
"Yeah. Well, I will wait for you outside," Kiryu said, taking his leave, and was very pleased with how it all went down.
Lelouch's genius can be a bit scary.
Meanwhile, we see in another room, a certain maid putting the phone away and removing the records of how called. She then placed the recording device, which had Lelouch's voice recorded, and play just a few seconds ago. She put it away, for the future just in case and was pleased that things were working out, just as her master said.
The Japanese maid was a bit surprised yesterday by what Lelouch and later Kiryu explained to her but understand and recall the very day how she met the former royal siblings. She can recall how much the young boy had in his eyes for his own country and how they wanted him dead after launching a war for the second place he can call home. She saw someone that would one day change things and might fix this broken one.
Sayoko also saw Kiryu as someone that was lost but was reborn in a way and would do anything to help Lelouch. She would admit she was surprised at how much her master saw within the brown-haired teen, a parnter and friend for his mission against Britannia. She vowed to protect her master and his happiness, as his hidden blade against his enemies if needed.
Time Skip
"You are right...it seems the Purebloods made their move," Kiryu commented after watching the news and how the Purebloods just made the news about the death of Prince Clovis while capturing someone to take the fall for the said crimes.
Even though the person couldn't even do the crime in a number of ways he was just being used as a scapegoat for those damn purists. What's a bit worst, is the said person they are using is Lelouch's childhood friend, Suzaku Kururugi. Who just so happened to be the son of the last prime minister back when Japan was still Japan and had killed himself due to losing a lot in the war.
"Indeed, I had a feeling this would happen but to find that Suzaku is alive and being used, it's troubling. The Purebloods are taking over, they have already thrown General Bartley & his men back to the homeland to face the trial for allowing the said murderer to walk away free. It seems I got the days right; in two days they would be broadcasting the way toward the trail and everything. Throwing Suzaku to the wolves," Lelouch said with a deep thrown and dislike how those corrupted bastards were going to do to his friend.
"It seems, we are going to need to be ready and speed up our debut," Kiryu said as both Lelouch and himself agree to meet the rebel group and Kallen in the next two days to talk to them. And might get their help on pulling Suzaku free.
"Indeed. Are you going to help CC?" Lelouch asked, seeing CC relaxing on the sofa and eating some pizza.
"No, not now. I want to see what you two have planned for your debut and to pull off a miracle," CC replied, taking a bit of her pizza.
"Testing us huh?" Lelouch guessed or stated.
"Why yes, I want to see what you two have planned," CC replied.
"(Sigh) very well and I already have plans in motion. First, I'm going to get our masks and suits ready while having Sayoko cover up the trail to not lead back to us. Second, I want you, Kiryu to look more into those files we gain from the G-1 & Project Camelot, we are going to need a working seventh-generation prototype of our own in the future. That white Knightmare, I have a feeling it and its pilot would give us trouble," Lelouch informed.
"Already ahead of you. I also discovered who the empire had in their files that rivals the head of Project Camelot. She's an Indian scientist and expert in Knightmare builder, Rakshata Chawla. Her research and development are worth noting of," Kiryu said, reading those files and finding more blueprints of the Lancelot Knightmare. And more on the Indian scientist.
"Very good. After our getting out of new attires and making our debut, I would help you get in contact with this Chawla. I have a few ways to do that," Lelouch said, knowing that money might not help with this but needed more information to help Kiryu if he was going to talk with the Indian scientist to order a personal Knightmare for himself.
"If picking a new identity, you both are going to need a new name for yourself," CC pointed out, as the pair can't use their birth names or those that have a connection to them.
This caused Lelouch and Kiryu to think about that. They are going to need a new alias and a way to fit into their personality outside the school life. A symbol, that is a thought and everlasting. That can't be destroyed.
"I have one in mind. Here's a question; where does every number start off and end?" Lelouch asked with a dramatic pause.
"Nothing?" Kiryu guessed raising an eyebrow.
"He means Zero, Kiryu. Zero as in nothing but can become something. And to mock the number system that Brittannia has placed," CC explained.
"Huh, good choice," Kiryu agreed.
"What about you, Kiryu? I doubt you would use a Japanese one," Lelouch said, knowing that if he did, then someone would figure out the connection.
"I actually had one figure out on the day I was brought here and what my Geass can do. In a way, I have been reborn from the ashes and can take flight again into this world. I shall fix this colorless and broken world into a shining one, a future where we don't have to be afraid of corruption and tyrants," Kiryu explained, having that strong tone in his voice and eyes burning with this passion for fighting for freedom.
Lelouch and CC were quiet, wondering what Kiryu was going with. Something that is reborn from the ashes and takes flight, huh? There are a few old legends and stories about that but which one? Then it clicks to the immortal witch.
"Oh is the Greek bird going to fly?" CC teased with her usual smirk, knowing what Kiryu was going to become.
"A Phoenix, huh? Hmm interesting choice, it suits you, Kiryu," Lelouch commented, agreeing with that and seeing good ideas forming.
If Zero would be the heart of the rebellion, then Phoenix shall be the soul of the said rebellion.
We shall see what our two new rebels do next in their debut.
