Age Of Carnage

Chapter 2

"Basher, stop!"

"ENOUGH WITH THAT NAME, CALL US CARNAGE!" Carnage lashed out with his sharp teeth rattling in anger.

"Carnage…whatever, give me my nephew back!" Darla went straight to the point as she knew buying time was the best thing in this situation.

"No, we're hungry. You're lucky we don't just eat your head!" Carnage replied childishly before his arm took the shape of a sharp sickle. "I'm going back out there!" Carnage jumped through the roof of the lab.

"Darla, what happened?" Vince came into the room, only to see the roof had a large hole in it. "And what is that?"

Darla turned around frantically and looked at Vince. "CARNAGE HAS YOUR SON! THAT THING IS A SYMBIOTIC CREATURE THAT NEEDS A FRESH AND COMPATIBLE HOST!"

Vince's eyes widened as he looked around the room to see that his son was missing. "IT HAS MY SON!"

Vince and Darla just looked at each other with open jaws as they didn't know what to do, if this gets out to anyone, it'll be catastrophic, but…this was their family member, jobs be damned, they were going to get him back.

"I'll inform the cops…"

"You think the cops are going to believe a giant, red monstrosity has my nephew hostage?"

Vince scoffed. "Probably not, let's just get my son back."

...

Carnage made his way from rooftop to rooftop before making a huge bound over the train tracks, landing on the ground with a heavy thump, causing the people nearby to run in fear of it. Carnage had a sick look on his face, it began to drool as he looked from side to side, seeing the plethora of food in the vicinity. However, before he could walk something sharp and mildly painful caught its attention, causing it to look down.

"My dog!" A lady screamed as she realized she was alone behind the car.

Carnage looked down at the brown chihuahua and his drooling became more rapid. "We always wanted to try a hot dog! Haha!" Carnage wasted no time, shooting three red and sharp tendrils through the chihuahua's body, causing blood to splatter, and a sickly gurgle sound could be heard.

"AAAAAAAH!" The owner of the dog screeched. She could only watch in despair as Carnage picked up her chihuahua before engulfing it whole, making an audible gulp in the process.

"The taste delivers a sort of bang, hmmm, who else?" Carnage scanned the area before something smacked itself against the back of its head. Carnage snarled as it turned around to find who threw whatever it was at his head. "WHO THREW THAT?"

The lady from before was about to charge at Carnage but something stopped her. It was an officer who was near the area.

"I'm going to need a lot of backup," The officer said as he took a good at Carnage.

"More food! I wonder what a man in blue tastes like…" Carnage's arms morphed into sythes and a sick glee was expressed on his face. "Chicken? Lamb? Potatoes? So many decisions and so much time!"

Carnage ran forward, wanting to get up close and personal, but a bullet slammed against its chest before a rain of bullets followed. Carnage looked around to see the cops surrounding him like he was prey. Oh no, he wasn't prey, he was the predator!

"Now we can call this an all-you-can-eat buffet! Who's first?"

"What the fuck is that?"

"How am I supposed to kno-" A tendril pierced through one of the cops, causing more blood to shoot out like a faucet.

"One down, a few more to go!"

Later that day, Carnage walked through an alleyway as nighttime fell over. The Symbiote licked its lips as it just finished eating a few of those damn wannabe thugs in the area. They messed with the wrong Symbiote!

"Well, I'll be damn, it's not every day a wanted alien comes in this alley," A homeless man said with his hands over the fire in the trashcan. The homeless man was rather young, most likely thirty, with silver gray hair and a crusty beard. He wore a ragged brown trench coat and pajama clothes.

"Who're you supposed to be old sap?"

"Oh me? Just your friendly neighborhood homeless man!" The man joked, which did get a reaction out of Carnage as the Symbiote laughed.

"We'll let you live, you got some guts old sap," Carnage said sitting down a few feet away. Carnage was weak to fire, so he knew not to be near it, he was ruthless, not stupid.

"And what's your story? Some test subject?"

"We're not from this planet, old sap," Carnage suddenly gripped his face and pulled on it hard, ripping off his face, the homeless man wasn't fazed by this, only raising a flexible brow seeing the human face.

"You're a kid?"

"Finally, I've been trying to take over for a long time, I've…killed people! I'M A MURDERER!" Darius shouted, from the neck down laid Carnage's body. Darius looked around in a panic, sweat on his face from hours of being forced against his will.

"Whoa, slow down son, you can talk to me, what happened?"

"D-Don't you already know? I'm all over the news, I'm wanted!"

"Your little friend there is wanted, not you kid," The homeless man spoke with a soft tone. "I'm also a wanted man if you want to know…killed a few dozen people in my time, now I'm just an old rust bucket."

Darius wanted to freak out, truly let loose an ear-piercing scream, but he didn't. He was slightly enjoying the company of the old man, much to his chagrin on the topic of murder. The red substance that made up Carnage's body disappeared into Darius, letting the teenager have full control.

"Lighten up, chuckles, we're not gonna get found out…as long as you cooperate," Carnage's face appeared from Darius's shoulder.

Darius looked at Carnage's face distraught. A pit of emotions threatened to blare, but Darius knew to calm down and not act rashly. If it was something he was taught, it was to be calm in the direst situations. His father was a smart man and was smart enough to teach Darius a few things.

"What do you mean cooperate? What the fuck are you?" Darius blurted out bluntly, eliciting a chuckle from Carnage and the homeless man.

"I'm from the planet, Klyntar, although I'm what you would call…a bit unstable."

"And now I'm stuck with you? Why me? Why not my father? Anyone but me," Darius said with the tone of defeat laced in.

"Chin up, sap, I didn't have a choice, I was going to die eventually if I didn't have a host. We need a host in order to survive and nutrients."

Darius opened his mouth in anger. "YOU HAD ME EAT OTHER HUMANS! LIKE SOME CANNIBAL, AND A DOG!"

"I eat so I can get stronger, if not, I'm better off dead. And I choose to live, sap. It doesn't help that this planet is full of rich nutrients. Better me than any other Symbiote."

"Other? There's more here on Earth?"

Carnage paused for a moment. "Most likely, I came here on a shuttle that crashed near your lab. I don't see the problem."

Darius narrowed his eyes dangerously at his new tenant. "The problem is, I'm not going to eat other humans because you're hungry! To me that's cannibalism, and I don't condone that, AT ALL!"

"The kid has a point, we don't like cannibalism."

"Well I'm not going to roll over and die, so, let's make a deal."

Darius leaned on the brick wall and sighed. "What deal?"

"You keep us sustained, and I'll let you make use of my powers. I can see it all in your head. You want to do more than just live a normal life, you want excitement and a thrill. I want bloodshed…and food."

"What will I even do? I'm not some hero, I'm just some…kid," Darius said, his tone still in a defeated state.

"But we can be more! The ultimate predator. This world needs to go through a new age."

"And what age is that?"

"The age of Carnage! Us against the rest, we can do a lot together, eat, beat up lowlifes, and kill!"

"Is killing all you think about it?"

"I thrive off bloodshed, sap. I'm a red Symbiote," Carnage replied as if it was a casual thing. "Anyway, the old man seems to be an interesting person too, you should ask him for some help, you obviously could use it." Carnage disappeared back into Darius's body, getting the teenager to shiver.

"What's your name kid?"

"Darius…Darius Virbank," Darius answered calmly. He took deep breaths to get his mood straight.

"My name is Morgan Ducard, and kid, you just made the best bet of your life!"

Darius made his way back home after a few hours of talking with Morgan. Morgan seemed like a rather good man, and he was thankful to have met him.

Darius walked back to his home in Bronx Park East. He sighed as it was close to midnight. However, before he could even open his door, the door opened, and Darius was met with a hug from his father and aunt.

"We knew you'd eventually make it back home," Vince said with worry dripped in his voice.

Darius didn't return the hugs as he was still shocked by the day's events. "Yeah…"

A minute passed and everyone was in the apartment. Darius quickly went to the kitchen to stuff his face full of leftover chocolate cake.

'MMPH, this chocolate thingy is good!'

Darius ignored Carnage's voice in his head and continued to chow down the food, unknown to him, Darla and Vince stared, blinking rapidly.

"Uh…everything alright?"

Darius stopped eating and turned around, chocolate smeared on his lips. "No, I'm not…this Symbiote has my appetite on boost and it constantly talks in my head."

'HEY!'

"Like now! Dad…what the hell were you trying to do with this thing?" Darius asked rudely. He wasn't in the mood for games, he wanted answers, and fast!

"That's none-"

"It crashed and landed in the lab's backyard, however, we were able to keep it under wraps from Hamilton and others. They saw the shuttle, but not the Symbiote," Darla explained first.

"We were unsure how to proceed in our…testing. However, we can tell it needed a host to survive…and from what we saw on the news, it has an intense appetite," Vince said after with a straight face, almost unmoving.

"I'll have you know…I'm stuck with Carnage."

"We can get it out if you can tell us what it's weak to, I'm sure…Carnage told you something?"

"Now why would we do that?" Carnage popped in from Darius's shoulder, getting the two adults to flinch from the abrupt appearance. "And don't call me a damn parasite!"

"Right…right, no name calling," Darla noted.

"Hmph, get out of my son, now!"

"Don't try and be a father now, sap, I know everything about this host. You had your shot, now we're going to do what we want, and you can't stop us!"

"I…have to agree with Carnage, Dad. Don't try and act as if you care. After mom died, you blame me for it, so I'm going to do as I want from now on."

Vince shook his head disappointingly "You think you can take care of yourself? I was the one to put a roof over your head, give you food, clothes, and money when you need it."

Darla pinched the bridge of her nose as she knew this was going to escalate further than it needs to. "Look, If you're positive on wanting to do what you want, Nephew, then you're going to have to get your own place."

"That's right.."

"I'll lend you one of my old places in Manhattan, you're responsible for finding a job and other things. I'll start you off with a year's rent paid off, and other things."

Vince turned his head to look at Darla with a betrayed gaze. He didn't understand why she was taking Darius's side in this, but…maybe this is for the best. "Even though I believe you're making a mistake, I think this is for the best, Darius. Leave immediately, you and your parasite are wanted."

"VINCE!" Darla roared in disbelief, however, Vince walked away from her and Darius.

"Don't be surprised, Aunty, he will always be that man with no heart," Darius simply said as he walked to his room to pack his things.

The next day Darius went to school like nothing even happened the day prior. He wasn't going to miss school just because some parasitic alien was in his body. Nope, not having that at all.

'DID YOU JUST CALL ME A PARASITE?

"NO!"

Darius's shout in the hallway alerted everyone of him, staring at him as if he was psycho or something.

This was the beginning of something weird.

END

The first five chapters will be short before I make each chapter after 4K words. Uh, nothing much to say about this chapter. Got to see Carnage…in action? I wanted to be slightly gritty with the dog part and stuff because Carnage is a character I feel you need to have some blood occurring.

The next chapter will start Darius's after-school activities as Carnage. I'm not too familiar with who's a hero in the Bronx in DC, but I'm leaning towards having Supergirl Appear (On a trip) this Supergirl will eventually become Powergirl and she's the first in Darius's harem.

So with that, I hope you enjoyed this rather laid-back chapter, next one will kickstart the age of Carnage.

Leave a review, it'll help.
