Age Of Carnage

Chapter 4

Darius was having an extremely bad day. He didn't know where to begin, and even how to begin. First, he's at school, the next his father picks him up early and the second…he's at the lab. It seemed like his father didn't want Carnage to be with him any longer. The symbiote was too much of a pest, but in the span of a week, Darius's life changed due to the Symbiote.

He moved out of his father's house, got his own apartment, and lastly, he was being trained by some old man who had more to him than just a crusty disposition. But now his father was literally trying ways to pry Carnage out of his body and to no avail.

"Father, enough with the testing, me and Carnage are bonded."

"Listen, you've been letting Carnage eat people and….dogs, this has been happening for the past week. Now we have Supergirl looking for you! Soon, the whole damn Justice League will do something and I can't have you being some criminal."

Darius looked at his father with raising suspicion. "You….care now?" Darius said, almost like a small whisper. "YOU ALL OF A SUDDEN CARE?"

"Tone your voice down, this is-"

"No, fuck that," Darius rudely interrupted his father by jumping off the bed he was currently in. "You never once bothered to care before this whole situation started. Mom died seven years ago because of a sickness that you still haven't figured out what it was, she died in my own hands.".

Vince and Darius gave each other heated stares. "Yes, you're right, I still haven't figured out the cause, and ever since, I did blame you, because you look exactly like her, ever since you decided to dye your hair. I haven't stopped blaming you, even now."

Darius went slack-jawed at his father's bluntness. He did get it from him, but it…still hurt to hear the very words leave his mouth. Darius clenched his fist, digging his nails into his skin. "Then why go to lengths to figure a way to get Carnage out of my body? As far as I'm concerned, I enjoy hurting people."

"Son, that's Carnage breaking down your mind, letting you say things you shouldn't say."

"Not a chance! This is all me, old man. My life has finally been looking bright from those years of everlasting darkness. You can't see it because you're stuck, I moved on from mother's death," Darius walked up to his father and looked him eye to eye. "Mother would be proud of me accepting the responsibility of living with Carnage. He's taking refuge in my body, so he's my problem. So what if some people die, that's just the natural way of life."

Vince lowered his head, some of his hair overshadowing his eyes. "Then…you're no longer my son, you're the criminal, Darius Virbank, host of Carnage. I'm calling-" However, Vince was slammed into the wall by a large red hand.

"I think not, old fool!" Darius' voice was distorted, almost eerily similar to Carnage's sickly tone. "You can call the cops, but then by the time they arrive, you won't be able to say a thing because I'd tear open your skull and feast on your brains!"

Vince struggled in the grip and scowled in disappointment. Has his son truly fallen? "Go ahead, do it!"

Darius stopped for a moment, thinking about if he should kill his father, however, something appeared beside him, getting him to turn his attention for a slight moment.

"He's not worth the trouble…let him live with his sorrow, we're not going to miss him one bit!"

Darius looked at Carnage and sighed. "Very well." Darius dropped his father on the lab floor and ran out.

Vince just looked in the direction his son was going and closed his eyes with a sad look appearing on his face. "I failed…"

...

"Who the hell does he think he is?"

"I wouldn't let him get to our head, sap. I think he's just going through those human emotional…thingy's."

Darius had returned back home to the Bronx, stationing himself on top of a roof, looking over the area. Darius did most of his…eating sessions in the Bronx. He did live in Manhatten, sure, but the Bronx was still his area of expertise. Now that Black Masks operations are here, he was needed here more than ever if he wanted to stop the notorious Crim Boss. Darius wasn't going to let the Bronx become another Gotham.

Darius didn't know why he prefer the rooftops, maybe it was because he had a birds-eye view from up here or the fact he finds solace up here. Darius sat on the ledge and let his legs shake, like a kid on a swing. If only he grabbed himself a burger and a shake, then this would be the best time of his life.

"I was thinking….what if we decided to do that hero or villain crap you humans do?"

Darius snapped from his inner musing to look at the red face of Carnage to his left, craning his head in a tilt fashion to look at the Symbiote.

"Like become an actual hero? Carnage I know you read my mind, you would know that I don't want to be a hero…and definitely not a villain, it's bad enough you need to feast daily. We're going to have to find alternatives because what my father said was….right. I'm criminal now, because of you, and the only reason we haven't been found out is that the world doesn't know the face behind Carnage."

"So…that's a no?" Carnage said as if he didn't hear Darius vent. Truth be told, the Symbiote didn't understand such feelings of empathy and other things. He only felt the rush of killing things, but ever since he met Darius, he seemed to have zoned out of it as much.

Darius gave Carnage a narrowed gaze that told Carnage that he wasn't in the mood for games.

"I appreciate you giving me powers, Carnage, but I just want to live a normal life, get a sexy girlfriend, and have a kid or two. I don't want to be a bad guy or a hero, I just want to live…like every other human. We may be insignificant to you and your kind, but some of us aren't destined for greatness."

"Ugh…you watch too much TV! Live a little, being nothing is the worst way to live, why do you think I'm called Carnage? Because Carnage is a natural occurrence in life and history, you, however, can live a normal life but do you want to die forgotten?"

Darius brought his hands up in thought, feeling a bit…moved by the Symbiote's attempt in boosting his mood and morale. Darius didn't think Carnage was able to pull off such a thing, considering the Symbiote was a killing machine. He thought his only goal was blood and severing, but it seemed Carnage could be a nice guy once in a while.

"I can't believe an alien is telling me how to live my life, I must've really gone off the deep end," Darius muttered to himself. "Okay, say we do become a…hero or villain, what is our goal?"

"Goal? Haha!" Carnage laughed before his grin widened at the prospect of needing a goal. "We just kill, I need you to survive so I can survive, we kill shitheads and feast on their limbs. I don't think we need a goal."

"Heroes don't kill, Carnage."

"Well, maybe it's time to change up the game! We've already established that the Bronx is our home turf, and anyone foolish to claim it as theirs has to answer to a mace to the face!" Carnage noticed the fully unconvinced look from Darius and chuckled. "Listen, it's better than just going around and senselessly killing, right?"

Darius curved his lips to a mulling frown, unsure if he should trust Carnage at this particular moment. "So we become some outlaw? A hero that kills to protect?"

"Yeah, that!" Carnage's eyes moved in excitement. "I always wanted to be an outlaw, like Billy The Kid!"

"How…do you know who that is?"

"You watched it last night…" Carnage said with his lips straightening. "Carnage and the Outlaw! See it in theaters on October 5th!"

Darius snorted before laughing with contentment, he was honestly happy to have met Carnage. Despite their first meeting being…weird. Darius clapped his hands together before taking one last look around the area.

"Let's go beat up some crooks!"

Supergirl or Kara out of her hero uniform was walking down the street near Inwood. She was taking it easy as of now since last night's check-up didn't go as she hoped. She was hoping Carnage was out and about, but it seemed Carnage came out of the woodworks whenever he felt like it, so she was taking this time to truly explore the Bronx.

Kara wore a casual white shirt that stopped just above the midriff area, a black skirt that reached just above her knees, and brown high boots. Her hair was tied into a bun and a pair of black glasses were worn. She needed to disguise herself the best she can outside of being a Supergirl. She was still Kara Kent at the end of the day.

A serene smile appeared on her face as she reached the restaurant that Rea told her to check out. They supposedly make one of the best burgers around and Kara was dying to try it out!

Kara was about to walk in but she felt something tap her shoulder, at least to her it was a tap, like getting hit by a feather. She looked to see and to her surprise someone around her age standing completely still, unfazed by her overall strength. Kara took a good look at the person, a purple-haired boy with a fit physique from what she could see from the tight compression shirt they wore.

"Uh…sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going!" Kara said as she patted the boy's shoulder to dust off any dirt that could have landed on him.

"Don't worry about it! You got a…strong shoulder. My name is Darius…Darius Virbank," Darius introduced himself to, in his opinion, an extremely beautiful woman.

"Kara Kent!" To Kara's surprise once again, Darius brought out a hand for a handshake, which she gladly accepted.

"I take it you came here to check out the Burger Shack? It's the best place around."

"Yeah, a friend of mine told me to stop by here whenever I get a free chance," Kara said with her voice threatening to break from how handsome the boy in front of her was. She needed to keep her composure. She was still here on a mission.

"How about I buy you something? It's the least I can do for the bump," Darius offered with a genuine smile on his face. Kara didn't see or feel any sort of malicious intent on the offer and nodded.

"Sure!"

"Oh, so you're from Kansas? I can see it, blondes are usually from that state," Darius said before biting onto his burger.

Kara was in unsuspended awe at the amount of food Darius ordered, it was a lot for just one person, but it could be because he was a growing teenager, about to be an adult soon. She knew boys eat a lot at some point…but this was too much, even for her.

"I didn't expect to see someone with hair like yours, is that a family thing?"

"It's complicated, but yes, it's a family trait. My mother had amethyst hair, but I was born without it, so I dyed my hair purple."

Kara didn't pry for information on Darius's mother, because from the way he spoke of her, it seemed like she had passed away, which made her feel a bit gloomy inside, but it seemed Darius was coping fine with it.

"By the way, I'm sure you heard about the whole Carnage thing, what're your thoughts on that? I know you're new here, but Carnage has been making a name for himself," The question seemed genuine enough Kara thought.

"I'm not sure…it's the first I heard about an alien eating people, I thought that was all fiction, but it's a real thing. And from the looks of it, he won't stop any time soon. Carnage is still a murderer and should be brought to justice, what about you?" Kara asked with an inspecting stare in her eyes.

Darius restrained a breath for a second before coming up with his answer. "I believe Carnage…is an oddball? If you look at the people he has killed, they belonged to the Black Mask gang, rapists, and other bad criminals. I don't condone the killing, I feel it's unnecessary, but it could be because Carnage needs to sustain himself and human means aren't enough."

Kara tilted her head, her framing bangs covering a part of her eye as she was taken aback by the answer. It was a relief to hear that Darius didn't seem to brush off heroes in the process. She had enough of that from other people who discredit the good work. Although she was interested in the fact that Darius didn't particularly hate the alien killer.

"And by sustain, you mean…eat heads?"

Darius rubbed his neck slowly as he could feel the tense air come in. "Yes, as horrible as it sounds, I can't help but feel he needs to eat…just like us, you know?"

"But there have to be alternatives, right? Why does it need to be people?" The agitation in Kara's voice was evident, and she almost let her emotions break the trouble. She sighed, releasing all the pent-up anger that was soon to come and ruin this…little date?

Darius could feel how sensitive this topic was, and he was slightly stupid for carrying it on, just his luck that this date was going sour. "Tell you what, let's forget about Carnage and I take you around the place?"

Kara's face lit up, almost shining like the sun. "Sure, let's do that!"

Darius and Kara found out they really enjoyed each other's company. Darius took Kara around Inwood, so she could get a better feel for the New York City life, although this wasn't the best area, it still had its merits.

Unfortunately, they both had to go their separate ways once night fell over. Now, Darius was sitting in Inwood park alone, staring up at the starry sky as the howling wind blew on his ears.

"You want to have intercourse with her? I approve!"

Darius did a spit take as he looked at Carnage who appeared beside him. "What? No, I don't, just because I love blondies doesn't mean I want to fuck them."

Carnage frowned and turned his head away. "You do realize I can tell when you're lying?"

Darius' eyes rose in full shock. "You can?"

"I'm bonded with you, therefore, I can feel every emotion you have raging within you, including your sexual frustrations."

Darius gave a profound glare to Carnage. "I don't think I like having you bonded with me, that's an invasion of privacy."

"Yeah right, you're lying again!"

"Ugh, let's just go beat up some people, it's nighttime, and New York is now awake!"

Carnage ran from rooftop to rooftop, making sure to check every alleyway in the Inwood area, they were usually filled with drug addicts and scumbags, or to Carnage, food! Carnage suddenly halted his movement as he felt something nearby.

Carnage quickly turned around and created a shield with his arm to block a punch, but it wasn't enough as he was sent flying away and onto the city street with a mighty thoom! sound. Thankfully Carnage was durable so the fall didn't take too much out of him.

Carnage stared up and noticed a figure hovering over him, a scowl was present on their face. Carnage could only grin as it was the one and only Supergirl. The one his host likes. Carnage wasn't an idiot, he knew the moment his host laid eyes on the blonde that it was Supergirl with glasses.

"Looks like it's my lucky night. Nice to finally meet you face to face, Carnage."

"I can feel the sarcasm in that! I'm the only one who can make jokes here, Blondie!" Carnage was able to stand up but was quick on his feet as he dodged an optic blast that was sure to have melted him. "WHOA! HEY WATCH THE FIRE!"

Supergirl took a closer look at Carnage, before opening her mouth in realization. "I know what race you're now, you're from Klyntar! I don't know how I didn't notice beforehand, but…this makes it easier, you're holding a host hostage."

"Tch and you're a Kryptonian, shouldn't you wait till the sun is up?"

"I don't need the boost from the sun to handle you!" Supergirl charged in but Carnage shot a tendril from his back and flew off.

"I'm not an idiot like my host, I won't fight a damn Kryptonian!"

"Oh come on, don't chicken out now!" Supergirl said as shot off another beam, but Carnage shrieked in annoyance at the intensity of the heat from it and jumped down into one of the alleyways.

Carnage looked around to see if he could hide and noticed a door and busted it down with a heavy kick.

Inside, Carnage glossed around, noticing it was a bar of sorts, with a stripper pole and a bunch of rowdy men. Carnage would love to stay and chat but the walls behind him burst into pebbles, some of them landing on his back getting the Symbiote to fly across the bar and hit the stripper pole, bending it.

"She's a problem…we actually felt that one!"

'Carnage don't hurt her!'

"Why do you think we are running? Your feelings for her are already overwhelming," Carnage spoke out loud but luckily no one was able to hear him.

Carnage was tackled with the force of a ram and sent crashing outside, the distant screams alerted everyone of his presence. Carnage was not happy at this particular moment.

Supergirl's eyes burned with a scowl on her face. "It's time to turn you in!"

Carnage gave a deep, eerie chuckle which caused Supergirl to frown. "Blondie, you're so lucky we're not hungry, we always wanted to know what a Kryptonian tastes like, but unfortunately we're in a rush!" Carnage was able to throw Supergirl into the wall beside him, not hard enough to severely injure her, but just enough so he can move his body.

Carnage shot a tendril into the building's rooftop and swung up and over it. Carnage looked back to see if Supergirl was chasing after him and thankfully she wasn't. Carnage didn't know why his host cared so much for someone he just met, but he wasn't going to question it, it was simply human nature he guessed.

Carnage stared around the area once more, trying to pick up on any disturbances, but couldn't find or hear any.

"WE'RE NOT FINISHED!" The mighty shout came from Supergirl yet again, which Carnage was beginning to dislike.

"MOVE!" Carnage made his arms a hammer and slammed it against Supergirl's stomach. The Kryptonian spun in the air before crashing into a nearby pole. "We're warning you, stop testing our patience! There's only so much of it we can give."

Carnage leaped down onto the street once again and walked up to Supergirl with a slow, calm stride. Carnage's hands then shifted into sharp blades and he pointed them at Supergirl's face. "Why're you so interested in taking us down? You really enjoy throwing your life away for these little chicken tenders?"

Supergirl restrained a growl and glared at the tall Symbiote with hate. "You're…a murderer, that's all there is to it!" Supergirl managed to quickly strike Carnage in the chin that knocked him into a nearby bodega.

Carnage jumped out of the store but was met with another fist to the face that threatened to twist his head. Supergirl was going to throw another punch, but Carnage instantly morphed his claws into hammers and struck Supergirl in the face, throwing her body into the pole.

"Murderer? Everyone's a murderer, little girl. Now we're going to leave, if we cross paths again, I will eat your liver!" Carnage wasted no time cutting tail and running. He was not going to stick around and face the wrath of a Kryptonian.

Arriving back in his apartment, Darius jumped himself on his couch. He had the worst day possible, and it didn't help that the girl he had a date with was none other than Supergirl. He wished Carnage never told him that piece of information. Now he's going to have to try and lay low for a bit.

"Carnage…I have a question."

"What is it?"

"Do you think Supergirl…Kara, will find out that I'm your host?"

Carnage remained silent, getting Darius to click his teeth in anticipation. "Kryptonians under a yellow sun gain vast amounts of abilities beyond your human capabilities."

"That…doesn't answer my question…"

"It's possible she could see me inside you with one of her visual prowesses, but she didn't display it. Now, we have to tread carefully on who you wish to have intercourse with."

"CARNAGE!"

Reviews:

Guest - I wasn't planning on having or going that far as to have Toxin appear in the story, but it would make for a good villain. If I plan that far, I'll have to use that idea.

That's it for this chapter. We got to see Darius's relationship with his father deteriorate and the conflict between Supergirl and Carnage. I hope you all enjoyed it.

With that said, leave a review on your thoughts and who you wish to see on the harem.

Right now its
