Noise were heard inside a familiar police pup's house, something was happening.
Something bad.
Chase felt an immense pain in his head and all around his body, the pup stumbled outside his pup house, hitting the ground in the process and feeling even more pain ravage his body as the moon shined around the Lookout.
The pups vision was getting blurrier by the second as he tried reaching out to the nearest pup house.
"What's...happening?!" Chase grunted to himself.
The pup noticed that his paws were swelling, sharp claws bursting out shortly after, his body getting bigger as his fur was changing into a dark grayish color.
The pup felt his collar strangling him, cutting out the oxygen to his lungs, that stopped as the collar was torn off due to the growing size of the pup.
The pup fell to the ground gasping for air as he noticed his new appearance via his paws.
Chase was now a wolfified Shepherd.
He had no control over anything, it felt like someone was controlling him. A howl echoed throughout the Lookout shortly after, waking Ryder and the pups in the process.
Marshall was the first to go outside and check the sound out, albeit being tired in the process.
The fatigued Dalmatian didn't notice the wolf that stood before him until it was too late, the encounter immediately woke the pup up as he ran back inside his pup house, barely evading him in the process. The pup activated his pup tag and called Ryder.
"Ryder! That thing that attacked Katie and Farmer Al is outside the Lookout! It's right outside my pup house!" Marshall said in genuine fear.
"Alright, Marshall just hold on!" Ryder said through the pup tag.
"Please hurry!" Marshall cried as he heard the wolf claw on his metal door, scraping it in the process.
Ryder looked through the Lookout's cameras and saw the wolf still attacking Marshall's pup house in an attempt to get the poor Dalmatian.
In a hurry, Ryder grabbed the tranquilizer gun that Katie gave him earlier to hopefully subdue the wolf, the boy went down the pole and into the garage, heading outside to help his Dalmatian friend.
As he walked up to Marshall's house, the wolf was nowhere to be found but the boy saw the damage that it done to the door.
"Oh man." Ryder examined as he held his tranquilizer up, ready to shoot.
Something caught the boy's eyesight, Chase's torn collar, he walked up to it and notified the pups.
"Pups! I think that thing took Chase! I found his collar outside, I don't know where it went but just stay inside pups." Ryder ordered as he picked up the Shepherd's pup tag.
As he picked up Chase's pup tag, he examined the area, noticing that there was no struggle or anything in that sort, his suspicions grew.
"No...no way." The boy soon heard rustling close by, he readied his tranquilizer for whatever was making the noise.
"Come on..." Ryder bravely stood his ground.
As if on cue, the wolf bursted out the nearby bushes and pounced on the boy, pinning him down.
As he hit the ground, his tranquilizer fell out of his hand, as the boy struggled to find it while keeping the wolf from biting him, Marshall pounced on the wolf, allowing Ryder to move to grab his tranquilizer and shoot the wolf.
The wolf stumbled off Marshall and swayed back and forth, hitting the ground moments later.
The two were out of breath, thankfully taking down the wolf in the process.
"You alright Marshall?" Ryder asked as he examined the pup.
"I'm good, I guess we finally caught the creature that's been causing problems around Adventure Bay." Marshall smiled.
"Yeah..." Ryder looked at the wolf as he got out his pup pad. "Pups, we got it, it's safe to come outside now." Ryder assured.
The pups came outside and looked at the rather large wolf, who was now unconscious.
"Any idea where this thing took Chase?" Skye asked in a worrying tone.
"I starting to think that this thing didn't take Chase to begin with." Ryder stated.
"What gives you that idea?" Rocky asked as he got a closer look at the wolf.
Ryder pulled out Chase's pup tag and showed it to the pups.
"No struggle or anything, and even if that thing attacked Chase, he would have fought back, making the wolf either bite or scratch him." Ryder kneeled down near Rocky. "No blood on its claws or on its muzzle."
"You don't think..." Zuma trailed off.
"This could be Chase? I do, as much as I'd hate to think it." Ryder concluded.
"It does make sense, besides the things you pointed out, remember that his wound healed up almost instantly overnight." Marshall added.
"Well, what're we going to do with him?" Skye asked.
"We'll put him in the Lookout, I'll lock everything down but in case he wakes up, stay in your pup houses, I don't want any of you getting hurt." Ryder answered as he struggled dragging the wolfified Shepherd into the Lookout.
Ryder eventually got Chase inside the Lookout as the pups headed back inside their pup houses to sleep away the stressful night, the boy locked down the Lookout and went back to sleep, albeit having difficulties due to the fact that his pup just turned into a wolf.
Morning hit Adventure Bay quickly, Ryder got up and looked at the cameras, noticing a familiar Shepherd sleeping on the cold metal floor.
Ryder changed into his usual fit and headed downstairs to greet the pup, along with the pups coming in soon after.
"Hey, Chase. Are you feeling alright?" Ryder asked.
"No, my head hurts, I think I blacked out last night, sir." Chase answered.
Ryder sighed as he crossed his arms.
"Sir? What happened?" Chase asked with some worry.
"I'll tell you but you're not going to like it." Ryder advised.
"Not like it? Ryder, what is it?" Chase was getting impatient.
The pups gathered around Chase, making the pup anxious.
"Chase...last night, something happened to you, something strange, you turned into a wolf." Ryder explained.
Chase sat in silence and then bursted out laughing.
"What? Oh man! Good one Ryder! You got me!" Chase laughed as he noticed the pups shuffling and looking away from him. "Right? It's just a joke...right?"
Ryder kneeled down in front of the Shepherd.
"Chase, we're not joking." Ryder said in a serious tone.
"No...no, you're lying, come on! Me? A wolf? Come on! It's not funny!" Chase said in disbelief.
"You want more proof? Follow me." Ryder lead on as the pups followed.
Ryder and the pups exited the elevator as Ryder pulled up the camera footage from last night.
"Pups, come on, this isn't—!" Chase was cut off.
"Shh, take a look." Ryder pointed at the screen.
It was true, the Shepherd saw himself transform into a wolf, along with him attacking Marshall and Ryder.
Ryder noticed the pup's shocked expression, he stopped the video and kneeled down to Chase.
"Chase, look at us, it's okay, we're all fine." Ryder placed his hand on Chase.
"I almost..." Chase trailed off as he looked at his paws, the pup snapped back to reality shortly after. "No...no!" Chase pushed the boy's hand off him and ran into the elevator, leaving him and the pups behind.
"Chase!" Ryder called out as he followed soon after.
Chase hid inside his pup house, tears strolled down the pup as he started hyperventilating.
He was terrified of what he had become.
"Chase?" Ryder called out as he knocked on his pup house.
"Chase, please come out." Skye pleaded as the other pups worried.
"I can't, I'm a monster!" Chase cried out.
"That's not true, buddy!" Marshall assured.
"Yeah, you're still our friend, no matter what!" Zuma backed up.
Chase began to calm down, the comments made him feel better but it wasn't enough considering how he almost killed them.
"Chase, it doesn't matter if you're like...this. We can help you out, control it." Ryder assured. "Come on, pal, let us help you."
Chase was still unsure about this whole thing, yeah, Ryder and the pups could help him but he could still hurt them, if that happened, he would never forgive himself.
The pup ultimately decided to join them, hopefully finding a way to control this whole thing.
He opened up his pup house door and faced the pups, with Skye rushing in to embrace the pup as the others joined soon after.
Ryder and the pups shared a laugh shortly after letting go.
Ryder petted Chase and the pups as they soon headed back into the Lookout, with Chase staying behind.
As Ryder noticed this, the pups wanted to help out but in the end, Ryder silently nodded his head at the pups, signaling that he'll talk to him on his own.
Ryder sat down next to the Shepherd, admiring the beautiful sun that beamed across Adventure Bay, putting his arm around the pup.
"We'll get through this, Chase, don't worry." Ryder smiled as he ruffled the pups fur on top of his head.
"It's...it's not that, well, sort of...sir." Chase trailed off, leaving the boy with more questions than answers. "It's just that...since I'm like this, what if we have a late emergency and I turn into this...monster and I can't control it? I can hurt you and the others." Chase proclaimed, keeping himself from telling Ryder his other problem.
"Like I said, don't worry about it, we'll help you control it and handle it." Ryder pondered on what the pup was also worried about. "Anything else you wanted to talk about?"
"N-no!" Chase turned his head to the side, hearing a snicker from Ryder shortly after. "No, sir."
"It's also about her, isn't it?" Ryder finally came to the conclusion.
The Shepherd sighed, realizing his failed attempt at keeping the Cockapoo out of the question.
"Yes, sir." Chase lowered his head in embarrassment.
Ryder stood up and eyed the Shepherd. "You saved her and she won't forget that, I think now is as good a time as any." The leader shrugged his shoulders as he walked away, leaving the Shepherd to himself.
"Okay..."
