Age Of Carnage

Chapter 6

Carnage and Captain Dale walked around each other as if they were having one final stand against one another. It would seem that way since this fight may or may not be the last. Carnage was fighting to keep his host safe, while Captain Dale wanted to kill Carnage to secure peace. Both of their reasons were valid, but only the strongest would survive this.

Captain Dale brought his hands down and flamed claws extended from his wrist, Carnage's eyes furrowed seeing the new weapons Captain Dale brought out. Carnage was trying to figure out a way to avoid being hit by those flaming claws, and the only Carnage could do is turn his arms into sharpened blades.

"Let's tango!" Captain Dale said as he made a mad dash at Carnage. Captain Dale seemed to have superhuman speeds as he was able to close the distance between him and Carnage in a mere second.

"TCH!" Carnage grunted as his bladed arm came in contact with the fire, Carnage suppressed his pain from the flames and made a jump back knocking back a police officer that was behind him. "IF YOU ALL VALUE YOUR LIVES, MOVE!"

Carnage's shout made the Officers fall back, they knew they wouldn't be able to handle Carnage, only their Captain could do such a feat.

Captain Dale cloaked his hands in flames, turning up the pressure, they went from red to blue. Carnage visibly flinched at the new color of the flames and struck a car with a tendril and used it to throw at the Captain.

"INCINERATE!" The Captain shouted as he waved his arms so hard they blurred out of existence for a split second.

'Step aside, Carnage, let me, Blood, handle this!'

The flames impacted Carnage, causing a loud, ear-deafening explosion. The winds picked up and howled and the flames raged. Captain Dale looked at what he did with an impassive stare. He finally defeated the damn freak, and that was all that mattered. If a few people lost their lives, it was for the greater good.

However, nothing is ever sweet here in the Bronx, and as the smoke cleared, a sinister laugh echoed, it wasn't that of Carnage, but of Blood.

"Naturally, fire is a big weakness for us Symbiotes, but I'm quite different, and unlike Carnage, I know when to stop holding back! You, Captain Dale, will die here before you kill all my food!"

Blood's figure was different as he now had a different host, his body was lean, slicker, and glossier as well. Blood had to admit, this host was definitely the right one, unlike his previous host. Well, no time to dwell on the past, right now, this damn cop needs to die!

Around the ankles, Blood created what seemed to be a Motorcycle exhaust pipe and sprinted at Captain Dale faster than Carnage did, considering Blood was skinnier than before, he was faster and much, much stronger. Blood used the training Darius did with Morgan and punched Captain Dale directly in the gut, but not hard enough to send the man flying. Dale spat out a glob of blood, and then went on the offensive by slamming his palm into Blood's face and causing an explosion at point blank.

"GAHAHAHA! WAS THAT SUPPOSE TO…" Blood paused as he wrapped tendrils around Captain Dale's neck. "FUCKING HURT?"

Captain Dale began to cough in a wild fashion, feeling his air supply stop. "No…BUT THIS WILL!" Captain Dale was able to kick Blood in the chest and ignite flames from his boots, which was able to get him free from Blood's grip.

"Tch, that fire is beginning to become annoying, damn Meta…" Blood said as he repaired the damage his chest received, well, Darius's chest.

'Haha, you're impervious to fire, you're just more fire resistant, you're still weak to it, don't try to act like a tough guy in front of the TV!'

"SHUT UP! I'M THE STRONGEST SYMBIOTE TO EXIST!" Blood shouted in rage as he shot tendrils everywhere, striking unsuspecting Cops in the process.

Captain Dale seeing this roared in fury as he propelled himself at Blood, tackling the Symbiote through a pole and into a convenience store. Inside, the dozens of people all screamed, the stacking frantic screams all began to annoy Blood. He may be fire resistant, but he was not sound resistant!

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Blood once again yelled as he threw various things around to hit the screaming people, however, Captain Dale burned them all with a quick wisp of fire.

"Seems like you have a few issues going on," Captain Dale snickered as he was trying to come up with an idea on how to handle this new Symbiote, it wasn't Carnage, who Captain Dale theorized was weak to his fire. Blood proved more resistant, but not invincible to his fire.

"Ha, you're one to talk, you have a lot of darkness in your heart, yet you try to fight in the light, you should quit your job and become a…criminal,"

Captain Dale furrowed a brow. "What?"

"I can read you like a damn novel, you parade yourself, thinking that you're fighting for the safety of others when in actuality, you're fighting to keep yourself from losing to the darkness, but you're constantly surrounded by these…variables that call themselves heroes, taking the only thing you're good at and doing a better job, which is why you refused to get help from any of the superheroes on the Justice League."

Captain Dale went slack jaw for a brief moment. "How…do you know that?"

"When I was choking you earlier, I was able to learn about you, poor Captain, being in the shadow of others can be a painful reminder of how weak you are," Blood continued as he tried to psychologically defeat Captain Dale.

A moment of silence occurred after Blood finished, the Captain's fingers began to twitch, and soon after, his eyebrows went up and down like a moving escalator side by side. Captain Dale's fist soon clenched and flames of azure color sparked. Blood's sharp teeth frowned as he knew he did nothing but give the man more of a reason to fight.

'Well…looks like you're not the brightest sun here,' Carnage commented blankly at seeing how Blood failed.

"YOU….FREAKS, ALL MUST DIE! Captain Dale shouted as his body was covered in a swirl of blue and red fire. Blood looked around to see that there were people all around the store.

"YOU DUMBASSES, GET OUT OR GET SCORCHED!" Blood shot tendrils from all over his body and grabbed all of the people in the store, most of them trying to fight off the sticky substance but it soon hardened into a grapple as Blood created hands.

Blood pulled all of them towards him like a vacuum and when they were all together he created a large net and made a leap for the roof, easily breaking through the ceilings. When Blood made it to the roof, he look around to see that the whole building was melting like ash and so, he made a jump across the street and onto the sidewalk.

The Cops stationed all brought out their guns, ready to shoot, but Blood slapped them all down with one tendril and brought up a finger and shook it. "I just saved these burgers from your damn Captain, show me some respect!" Blood said with mild frustration as he let the people out of the net. They all wasted no time running from the scene, except for a little child.

"Thanks, Mr. Alien!"

"W-What…urg…you're welcome?" Blood said as he forced a smile on his face, which didn't scare the girl one bit. "Now, get going, things are going to get a little unfun…"

Blood watched the girl run off and afterward, Blood heard two sets of laughter.

'Nice going…I could've done better, but A for effort.'

'Thanks for saving those people, you're not a bad guy!'

Blood was about to say something but the rocking and shaking of the floor interrupted him, getting his attention. The whole convenience store was now turned to cinder and a standalone figure walked menacingly towards Blood. The Officer's caps all began to melt, and Blood felt his structure begin to sweat. That heat was too much!

"You freaks…must perish!" Captain Dale was no longer human, the only thing left of him was a body of a charcoal-colored demon with two spiraling horns coming from the sides of his head, his eyes were a blank white, with no humanity within them.

"It looks like I'm…late," A feminine voice said from above, getting Blood and Captain Dale to look up to see a familiar blonde.

"I was beginning to wonder when you'd show up, I'm not supposed to be fighting your damn battles!" Blood morphed, getting smaller, before taking the shape of a human.

"Sorry about him, he causes a lot of issues," The voice belonged to Darius, but he configured it to become animalistic so Supergirl didn't know it was actually him. He took the same appearance as before with Carnage becoming his new set of clothes which was a full, crimson red attire, consisting of a red tank top, red baggy pants tucked into red combat boots, Blood decided to be a kind fellow and become Dariu's scarf.

"Hahahaha! I can kill two freaks with one stone! Good, let's turn up the heat!"

"You can fill me in after we handle this…thing," Supergirl said as she wanted to prioritize neutralizing the threat and then making witty banter with this new look of Carnage.

Darius grinned. "Sure, I'll go in first!" Darius said as he shot a tendril passed Captain Dale and propelled himself forward in a spontaneous burst of speed.

"Fool! I am, FIRE!" Captain Dale said as he swiped his clawed hands at Darius, but he ducked and planted his boot into Captain Dale's abdomen. Darius was expecting to send the man-turned demon flying, but he stood in place and gave Darius a pale grin. "You're…WEAK!" Captain Dale grabbed Darius by the face and threw him across the street and into another store.

Supergirl decided to take action, seeing that Carnage was going to be out of commission for now. She flew at Captain Dale, with her right fist reared back, she sprung it forward, lodging her fist into Captain Dale's face, sending the demon back, but not as far as she expected.

"Strong, but nothing remarkable!" Captain Dale remarked slyly as he disappeared into cinders and appeared right in front of Supergirl, getting her to gasp. Captain Dale backhanded her towards the same building Darius was in but Supergirl was caught by a large net.

"We're going to have to work together, I hope you have some speed behind your punches!" Darius said as he ran at Captain Dale.

"Same can be said to you!"

Darius, Carnage to the people, and Supergirl flanked Captain Dale on different sides, with both of them throwing a punch, but they were blocked by fiery hands.

"Is that all?"

"Not…QUITE!" Darius morphed back into Blood and created an extra pair of arms, shaping the hands into hammers and slamming them upon Captain Dale's hand which caused him to plow into the ground.

Supergirl grabbed Captain Dale by the horns and threw him into the air. She gave Blood the go and both of them jumped into the air, Supergirl was the first to punch Captain Dale on the right side of his jaw, while Blood punched his left, making the Captain spin in place. Blood used all four of his fist to clobber Captain Dale and let Supergirl use her frost breath to put out the fire. After Captain Dale's flame barrier was gone, he was left vulnerable to more attacks from the duo, and with one final double punch, both Blood and Supergirl sent Captain Dale crashing into the street.

Blood dropped, considering he couldn't fly, and landed on the street next to Captain Dale, and Supergirl floated, her cape billowing in the melodic winds as they calmed down with the defeat of Captain Dale.

"You…freaks…I'm…not finished!" Captain Dale, now back to normal managed to say before coughing up a spit of flames like a cat would a hairball.

"Yeah, well, we're done with you, mad cop!"

"Woo! You two did good!"

The energetic voice of Rea Nelson said as she walked up to the scene, she almost fell down the crater but was caught by Supergirl. "Thanks!"

"So, your Captain was that demon thing?"

Rea looked at the bruised-up Captain Dale and shook her head. "Captain, what happened?"

"Don't bother with the schematics, he's just gonna call us freaks of nature, you're the one who's Captain Now!" Blood said before disappearing, but Carnage quickly took over to make sure Darius's identity wasn't blown. "That's right, Miss Sap, I think you'd do a better job than this nutjob!"

"I can't believe I'm doing this but…you're free to leave," Rea, the new Captain, spoke to Carnage, getting the Symbiote's eyes to shift in surprise. "But only for today, because you saved lives from the former Captain, but tomorrow, we're enemies, got it?"

Carnage stared dumbly for a few moments before chuckling. "You got it, boss!" Carnage turned around and ran off, leaving Supergirl and Captain Nelson behind.

"I'll take Dale back, he's most likely going to be dismissed or something like that," Captain Nelson spoke, her tone was sad of course, considering she and Dale were in the force for well over 15 years together, to see someone she worked alongside with down and out like this did nothing but hurt.

"Alright, I'll speak with you tomorrow, make sure to clear your head, I know that this…wasn't foreseen," Supergirl flew up into the air and away, she also needed to clear her mind over her brief team-up with the Symbiotes.

It then occurred to Supergirl that Carnage wasn't the only one in the captive's host body.

"Ah, fuck!"

The weekend went by fast for Darius, and he was back in School like everyone else. He was quite glad he was back in school, he needed a breather from all the fighting and stuff. Darius had met up with Wade, and the news that Wade's mom was the new Police Captain shocked Darius. He didn't know the connection, considering Wade was mainly shy and Captain Nelson was extremely optimistic.

Darius was currently putting stuff out of his locker, considering this is the last week of school, and graduation was well around the corner, he already knew he passed, there was no point in holding stuff any longer. It was a long ride, but finally, all his effort was rewarded handsomely.

"Hey, Darius!"

Darius closed his locker to peek over to who called him, seeing that it was Wade, Darius smiled. "Yo! Good to see you, Wade."

"Huh? Wait, why do you sound…happy?"

"What, I do?"

"Just a few weeks ago you were all edgy and isolated, now you're smiling as bright as the sun, wait…I know, it's because of my mom, isn't it? You love her food!"

"Well, I can't deny that, your mom makes some good brownies, and her mac and cheese…perfect!" Darius stopped himself to look at Wade and a brow furrowed. "Is it me…or are you working out?"

"Haha! You're finally noticing!"

"What's the occasion?' Darius asked a bit intrigued to see that his friend was getting fit.

"Well, I plan on following in my mom's footsteps and becoming a cop, but I want to train first and become a vigilante."

Darius blinked before erupting into laughter. "You want to become a hero?"

"Why're you laughing? If you can put your mind to it, you can do it!" Wade replied. "Right?"

"I don't know Wade, heroes throw their life away for people they don't know, I think being selfless leads to an early grave, and I don't want any part of that, even if I were to become a hero..it'd probably be out of fame than anything else."

Wade scrunched his lips and narrowed his eyes. "I can tell you're lying, seriously, why don't we both become heroes? We don't need to have any fancy powers, just bare fists, like Batman!"

"Pass!" Darius quickly shot down as he began to walk away.

"Oh, cmon man! Do you want to be in it for fame? Think about all the girls you could get, and I'll be your partner, who also can get a lot of girls…seriously, we should do it. You and me, together."

"That…sounds a little tempting, but I'm not a playboy, and besides I'm already…sorta talking to someone."

Wade gasped. "YOU…"

"SSH!" Darius interrupted.

"Got a girlfriend? What's her name? What's her hair color? Does she want to be a hero too?" Wade muttered so no one could hear.

"To answer your question…her name is Kara Kent, I think she's related to that guy at the Daily Planet named Clark Kent, his articles are something my father reads a lot," Darius said with a bit of an interjected tone towards the end. "But, anyway, yeah, I'm supposed to meet her around Inwood in an hour."

"Ah! Well, I hope you have a good time, man, I'm going to head home and sleep," Wade scurried off in what seemed to be a hurry, which got Darius to raise a brow.

'He was lying you know,' Blood said with a bit of a crackling tune.

'He has his own problems…I have my own, which is you two! Ever since you joined, I've been nothing but HUNGRY!'

'Don't lump me in with this bloodsucking old man. Your situation is unique since Hosts normally only can handle one Symbiote, but more than one could be an extreme burden, I'm surprised you're not gripping your chest and kneeling in pain. It means you're different, which makes me wonder if you're truly human or not.'

'Well, whatever I am, I hope it's not a demon, that Captain Dale guy scared the hell out of me.'

'Bah! He was just another wannabe hero, he wasn't like us!'

'We're not heroes, Carnage, we're still wanted, but thankfully our cover wasn't blown, it would be too much pressure if everyone at school knew, and if Wade knew, he would most likely stop being my friend.'

'Wanted shawanted, we saved a bunch of lives the other day, I think we deserve some praise for that one, but, you should hurry on over to your little Kryptonian girlfriend, we all know that you want to-'

Darius blocked off communications with Carnage since he knew what the Symbiote was going to say next, he didn't want to hear anything about intercourse and sex right now.

Darius returned back to the Burger Shack in Inwood so he could hang out with Kara, he knew who she was with the cape on, but she didn't know he was the host of two Symbiotes, and he planned on keeping it that way for a long time until he can convince Kara they were not bad beings, but just the misunderstood type. It wasn't their fault that they needed substances like blood and brains.

Darius sat down at the table closest to the window since he would like to keep an eye out for any funny business that would go on. It was the afternoon time and Inwood did get active due to rush hour, and there was no better time to continue your plans than at rush hour.

"Ah! Sorry if I'm late!"

Darius tilted his head to look and see that Kara was here, with her hair in a ponytail and a pair of black, simple glasses on her face, she didn't wear anything sporadic, just a simple blue jean jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes.

"Oh, no worries, I just got here about five minutes ago," Darius just smiled as Kara sat down across from him. However, she seemed to have a stern expression on her face which was worrying if he had to be honest, she looked like she was about to let loose her wrath on a poor soul.

"I have a serious question to ask you, and I need you to answer honestly," Kara went straight to the point as she fixed her glasses to show how serious the matter was at the moment.

"Y-Yeah…sure?"

Kara inhaled deeply before releasing a large amount of air. "Are you Carnage?"

END

And thus, the mini-arc is concluded, I hope you all enjoyed it. I'll probably take two weeks or so to get the next arc going, again, this story isn't going to be big or anything, I started this at the spur of the moment and didn't think it would get as much attention as it has.

I only have one arc planned and when that's finished, the story will be done, unless I decide to pick it up afterward.

It also seemed like you guys didn't want Captain Dale to be a common occurrence and didn't want to join him, I still added the part where Blood was trying to break Dale mentally since I felt that was necessary. I know I ended the fight quickly, but honestly most fights in the comics don't even last too long either, so I went with a speedy victory for Supergirl and Darius.

Death Fury - Thanks for the reviews, glad you liked the chapters and I hope you liked this one too.

With that said, I'll see you all next chapter!
