Jesse woke up the next day with his head pounding and the room spinning. The fear of the night before was still with him. He could feel his stomach churning and ran to the bathroom. It was only by the grace of God that he got to the toilet in time to empty the contents of his stomach. His body shook violently every time he vomited. After what seemed like an eternity of praying to the porcelain gods, he finally felt well enough to go to the kitchen make some coffee and attempt to eat breakfast without vomiting. Upon making his way to the coffee maker he noticed that the pot was full, and a note attached to it, Jamie's name was on it. His hands trembling, he opened it and read:

Liebchen, I had to go to work today. I'm very sorry about last night. I wanted to play rough, and you weren't ready for it. I never intended to hurt you and never would hurt you. I love you very much

Love, Jamie

Jesse exhaled in relief. Why did I ever doubt him? he thought to himself. He should've known that Jamie would never hurt him. He was a gentle giant, and although people found him intimidating, he was a big teddy bear, and would never let anything hurt Jesse. He must have remembered it wrong because he drank too much.

Jesse ignored the part of his mind that told him he was lying to himself, and that this was a warning sign. He didn't want to believe that because it was too painful. In the weeks and months to come he'd curse himself for not ending things with Jamie right that moment, but he was still too blissfully unaware of the horror his life would turn into.

Jesse finished his coffee, took an advil and started on some work.

Harvey Specter sat at his home desk his anxiety rising. A major client of theirs had been served with a lawsuit that very day. He needed someone at the office right now. The problem was that Rachel and Mike weren't available. They had gone to see a friend on Long Island and have a day at the beach. He couldn't exactly call them because they had told him about it way in advance. He could be an ass but not that much of an ass. He didn't feel like dealing with the other douchey associates right now. So, his best option was Jesse. The kid probably had a massive hangover, but it was already 2 in the afternoon. He'd have to deal. He whipped out his cell phone and dialed the associate's number.

After a few rings, Jesse's soft Irish brogue answered, "Harvey is everything okay?"

"Get dressed, and drop whatever you're doing, we've got a problem. Ray will be at your building in 15 minutes to pick you up. Bring a suit just in case, and don't make Ray wait," he said and hung up the phone, leaving no time for a response.

Jesse scrambled as soon as Harvey hung up. He dressed in his favorite Nike track pants, and a green Harvard sweatshirt, before getting his suit and shoes just in case. He looked at his phone and saw that he had five minutes left till Ray got here. He took his briefcase and his clothes and ran downstairs. Like clockwork, Ray was there at exactly fifteen minutes. Harvey is quite exact, he thought. Ray greeted him, "How are you feeling buddy? You had quite a bit to drink.

"Oh, I'm fine", Jesse responded laughing. "Buddy, you got a black eye, is everything all right?", Ray asked, a worried look on his face. Jesse's blood froze. He didn't want to get Jamie in trouble, so he lied," Oh, you know I was just so drunk I fell down." He wasn't sure if Ray believed him, but he didn't press any further.

They arrived at Harvey's place and Jesse thanked Ray politely and got out. As Jesse walked away, he didn't realize that a very concerned Ray had shot Harvey a text about the black eye. He didn't believe the kid's story.

Harvey looked at Ray's text with concern. A black eye? You may have been right, he thought to himself. The story about falling was hard to believe. As an experienced lawyer, Harvey thought he was above average at smelling bullshit. He'd ask the kid himself.

A soft knock at his door snapped him back to attention. He went and opened the door, to find Jesse. He was clad in black Nike track pants and a green Harvard sweatshirt. "What's the problem sir?", he asked a serious expression adorning his face.

Harvey decided to address the elephant in the room. "I'll get to that but first you're going to tell me how you got that black eye", he commanded staring the kid straight in the face. For less than a second, a tiny expression of fear graced the kid's features, but then it was gone. If Harvey was not so experienced at reading people, he would've missed it. "Oh, that don't worry I fell down last night because I had too much too drink," Jesse replied. Harvey could tell by the way he answered that Jesse was lying but decided not to press it.

They then settled into their work.

Jesse found it strange to see Harvey in jeans and a T-shirt, as he was so used to seeing him in immaculate, three-piece suits. They worked for several hours until it was dark, and Harvey ordered a pizza. Jesse stood up to leave and Harvey offered to let Ray take him home. Not wanting to upset Jamie, Jesse politely refused and took a cab home.

He got home and the kitchen was dark. After getting ready for bed, he discovered Jamie's hulking form lying on the bed. Giving him a small kiss, he lied down next to him. Jamie woke up and pulled Jesse's smaller body into him wrapping his arms around Jesse like a protective cocoon. Jesse smiled and gave Jamie another kiss. Snuggled against the sleeping form of his boyfriend Jamie fell fast asleep.

Jesse and Jamie relaxed the next day. Jesse went on a run and went to 5:00 Mass. Even as a gay man he was still an Irish Catholic boy. Jamie made a pasta dinner and the two had a passionate night.

Harvey went into work on Monday determined to find out what was going on with Jesse. Normally, he'd stay out of the personal lives of his employees, but he needed to make sure the kid was safe. To keep his privacy intact he only told Donna about his concerns and told her to keep an eye on the kid.

On Monday, Jesse worked all day with Mike and Rachel on a new pro-bono case. At around ten at night Jesse finally went home. He found Jamie standing in the kitchen scowling at him and immediately became afraid. "Why didn't you tell me you were working with Harvey Saturday?", he asked accusingly.

"What, why he's my boss a client called…", Jesse replied, and Jamie slapped backhanded him across the face, violently grabbed his arms, and pushed him into a wall. "Jamie stop it you're scaring me!", Jesse cried out and was slapped again. "Answer me!", he said

"Jamie it was nothing, a client called and got sued, it was an emergency nothing happened", Jesse cried out in desperation. Jamie's hand shot up to Jesse's throat and began to choke Jesse again.

"It better not. Just remember I'm all you have here no one else could love you, "Jamie said coldly before releasing Jesse's throat. Jesse collapsed to his knees and sobbed uncontrollably.

Mike sat in his office on the dreary Tuesday morning, waiting for Jesse to come to his office. The new associate was supposed to be here 15 minutes ago, and he didn't seem like the type of person who was late. Harvey had wanted the two to collaborate on a motion to dismiss for the client who had gotten sued on Saturday.

Finally, he walked in and greeted Mike. He was his usual shy, but kind self but something seemed off. The kid was shy but usually smiled more and would joke around once he felt comfortable. Today, his usually lively green eyes seemed flat, and lifeless.

He didn't think anything of it and the two worked together the entire day. As was the usual scenario they stayed late into the night. "Okay, Jesse so this may be a good place to stop..." and gasped as he saw Jesse roll up his sleeves to reveal purple bruises. The associate heard his gasp and quickly rolled his sleeves down, but the damage was done.

Jesse couldn't believe it. He had forgotten about the bruises, and carelessly rolled up his sleeves. He was caught and began to stammer, "Mike it's nothing bad I can explain…"

"Really Jesse its not bad?", Mike said his face looking serious, then became gentler, "Jesse those are bruises. You can tell me is something going on?"

Jesse wanted to break down and confess. Mike's eyes looked so kind and gentle. But he didn't want to get Jamie in trouble, so he lied, "This is super embarrassing um, when me and Jamie, you know I like it rough so…"

Mike nodded skeptically and Jesse went home.

Mike watched the Irish man walk away and sighed in disbelief. He straight up lied to me, he thought. He knew he had to tell Harvey or someone. He didn't want to violate Jesse's privacy, but he needed to make sure the kid was safe.

Jesse took the subway home. On the way there he thought about how he needed to hide his passport in case Jamie took it. He was starting to realize that he needed an escape plan. He finally got to his building and walked up to his apartment. He opened the door, to find Jamie in the kitchen holding a cigarette lighter and lighting a document on fire. With horror he realized it was his passport. "Jamie what the fuck!", he yelled.

"Don't worry Liebchen", Jamie said grinning ominously, "You won't need it, and besides where can you go? I'm the only one who will love you and keep you safe. Jamie had grabbed his petrified boyfriend and pushed him against the wall again. "You're crying Liebchen", he said wiping the tears away.

"Jamie you can't do this I can get a new passport, I make more money than you I could leave…", Jesse shot back before he was slapped again.

"Don't ever say that you fucking mick!", Jamie shouted, "Besides I cancelled all your credit cards, you're mine."

Jesse was too shocked to respond, but Jamie wasn't done, "I will teach you a lesson". Jamie grabbed the lighter and ripped open Jesse's shirt. Realizing what was going to happen Jesse desperately tried to free himself but was no match for his boyfriend. Jamie dragged the flame across Jesse's stomach. He shrieked and Jamie told him to shut up or he would get more. After doing it seven times, he stopped it and Jesse thought it was over. As if reading his thoughts, Jamie gave a cold smile and began dragging him to the bed, using his muscular arms to throw Jesse on to the bed like a rag doll. He began taking Jesse's clothes off. Knowing wat was to come Jesse tried to fight back. Jamie told him he'd get the lighter again if he didn't comply. He used the sheets to tie Jesse's feet to the bed and raped Jesse anally. After what seemed like hours of absolute agony, Jamie finally stopped and laid down leaving Jesse sobbing uncontrollably into the sheets.
