Ever since he was a child, the Commander had always been into planes and other kinds of aviation, so whenever he got a chance, he visited the port's library to look at books about planes. However, when Manfred von Ricthofen told him she liked the same thing, it motivated him once again to head back to the library. While he was selecting a book, his secretary walked over and asked him a question.
"Hey Kommandant, I was wondering if you would like to read with me."
"Well, doesn't your sister want to read with you? I figured you wanted some time together after she was gone for 3 weeks."
"Well, yes, but…"
Manfred von Richthofen paused, her cheeks getting red in slight embarrassment
"I…would rather have you read with me."
"Well, do you have a book you would want to read?"
Richthofen handed the Commander A Detailed Book on Aircraft from the Second Great War.
Just by glancing at the book, the Commander could tell it was not a book that could simply be read at the library in 30 minutes.
"Ooh, this book looks pretty long. You wanna check it out and read it in my bedroom?"
"Sure"
The Commander opened the door to his bedroom and threw the book onto the bed. He and his secretary took off their shoes and socks before jumping onto the bed. As the Commander opened the book they had brought with them, Manfred von Richthofen decided to make herself more comfortable by leaning her head against the Commander's shoulder. The Commander's face began turning red, however, he quickly put himself together.
"You sure you're gonna be comfortable like that?"
"I'm sure."
The Commander smiled and opened the book. The first page they turned to after the table of contents contained a very detailed picture of a Me Bf109F, which Richthofen instantly recognized.
"Messerschmitt Bf109F, single seat fighter used by the luftwaffe, considered one of the most famous planes of the Second Great War."
The Commander let out a chuckle after Richthofen said and decided to test her knowledge.
"How many were made?"
"33,984 planes were made. That also makes it the most produced aircraft in history."
"Wow, you really seem to know your stuff about this."
The Commander turned to the page of the book, which, amongst the text, contained a picture of a Supermarine Spitfire. Before Richthofen could say the name of the plane, the Commander spoke.
"Spitfire F Mark 12, a plane used by the Royal Airforce, another one of the most famous planes of the Second Great War."
Richthofen smiled.
"Looks like you know your stuff as well Kommandant…."
The Commander smiled back at her before they continued reading. The two began exchanging remarks they had about the different planes that were present in A Detailed Book on Aircraft from the Second Great War as they went from page to page. However, eventually, every page ended up becoming a series of crosstalk. By the time they had finished reading the book, it was 7:00 PM. The Commander closed the book and put it on his bedside table. "Well, that was fun-" The Commander turned his head to find his secretary fast asleep, still resting her head against his shoulder.
"Huh, I guess she really was comfortable."
After a short while the Commander fell asleep as well, and the two dreamt some very sweet dreams.
