Ch 18 Incident Number One: The Cat

Hermione saw Harry sitting in front of Shuna writing something in a different language. The event from yesterday was shocking, never seen anyone move or fight like that. Good thing that Ron wasn't there to see it, he'll start questioning him ultimately concluding it's Dark Magic.

The bushy-haired girl shook her head, seeing that Harry closes his book. "That's all for today Harry-sama about the twelve Patrons of your family." The Oni Princess smiles, gathering the papers and documents she'd prepared.

Harry sighs, smiling at the tutoring session is done. He stretches his arms, curious about what Shuna taught him. "I do wonder how Adalman and you cast H-" The young Majin turns to his door, seeing Hermione peering inside his room.

"S-Sorry, Harry. I overheard the end of your tutoring session…" Hermione cleared her throat, embarrassed that she went on and spied on her friend.

Shuna shook her head, "It's quite alright, Hermione-san. But I do request you that you refrain from overhearing our lesson." She asked politely and sternly.

"I-I thou-"

"Ms. Granger, this is a private lesson for Harry-sama." Hermione jumps, turning around, and seeing Diablo walking in like an evil mastermind.

"D-Diablo!" Hermione gasps, seeing Harry's butler coming from the shadows.

Diablo looks at the bushy-haired girl, still shocked to see him entering the room. "The subjects that we're teaching the young master is important as the heir of Tempest." He explains to the bookworm. "So any information we provided for him is strictly for him."

Harry looks at his friend apologetically to her. "Sorry Mione, but this is what I need to do." He said.

"O-Oh, it's alright Harry. Say have you seen Ron?" Hermione asked, changing the subject before she did anything else to upset the followers of Harry.

Harry shook his head, "No, the last time I saw Ron was when he has detention with Lockhart." He informed Hermione when he last saw their friend.

"I see, let's go meet him," Hermione suggested,

The young Majin nodded, agreeing with the bushy-haired girl. "Yeah, let's do it."

Shuna smiles, placing the documents in a folder. "I shall accompany you, Harry-sama. Ultima-sama and Gabiru-dono are already asleep in their quarters." The Oni Princess said, carrying the folder to Diablo who receive it gracefully.

Harry turning to Diablo, inclining his head to him. "I'll be putting these away young master. I await your return." He walks to the room that McGonagall provided for the group.

"Shall we get going?" Hermione asked the two, receiving a nod from them.

The two made their way through the halls, Shuna and Harry sense something was off about this place. A sinister feeling that can make anyone wary of their surroundings. "Harry-sama, something is wrong here."

Harry nodded, feeling it too. When he looks at Hermione, she seems that she didn't sense anything. "I think it us who felt it," He responded, suddenly he heard a voice-no a plea.

[P…l…eas…h…p….e….]

Harry couldn't tell what the voice was saying but it seems it's crying for help. "Shuna, Hermione did you hear that? It seems like someone is crying for help." He asked the two females with him.

"I didn't hear anything Harry," Hermione responded to his question.

Shuna agrees with the Human Witch, hearing no voice. "I agree with Hermione-san, I didn't hear anything." She said as they saw Ron coming down the stairs.

Hermione smiles, rushing to the red-haired boy. "Ron, how was it?" She asked about the detention tonight.

Ron groans, not liking that one bit. "Professor Lockhart had me signing some of his fan mail. It made my hand hurt a lot." He complains before looking at the group. "So what are you guys doing here late? Did dinner moved back an hour?" He asked.

"No, but I did save some food for you," Hermione said, trying to be helpful.

[H…He…p…i…I d…d…a…gai…]

Harry blinks, hearing the voice again; this time was louder than the first. "There it is again," Harry speed walks to the left hall, making the other three confused about what he was doing.

"Harry-sama, where are you going?" Shuna turns to the young master, watching him going down the hall.

"H-Harry wait," Hermione rushed over to the young Majin, curious about where he's going.

Ron was confused about what's going on. "W-Wait for me guys!" He shouted as he rushed over to join them.

Harry listens to the voice, getting weaker by the second call. Once walks to the main hallway, the voice ceases. "W-Wait, where-"

"Harry!" Hermione and Ron ran over to the young Majin looking like he's lost.

Shuna rushed over her sandals splashes on the puddles around the floor. She noticed a trail of spiders, exiting the window next to her. "Strange, spiders don't usually do that." She commented, seeing a fair share of spiders before.

Hermione looks around her, noticing the number of puddles in this area of the school. "Harry, what has gotten into you?" She asked, curious as to why he's acting weird. Upon arriving she saw Harry looking up at something.

Ron walks over, wary of the spiders crawling on the stone floor of the hall. "Ugh, why spiders." He groans, fearing the small creepy creatures. He looks over at where Hermione saw Harry, then he shifts his head above, seeing something that terrifies him. "D-Dear Merlin, i-isn't that Filch's cat?" His eyes widen at the petrified state.

"W-What happen to her?" Hermione questions, seeing the frozen cat. She then notices the words in blood. "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened, enemies of the heir beware."

Shuna walks up to the cat, gently placing her down from the candles. The hall quickly filled up with unsparing students and staff, curious about what's going on.

"I-Is that Filch's cat?"

"Oh Merlin, what happened to her?"

"D-Did Harry's servant killed her?"

"I knew they were off."

Harry could hear them whispering that Shuna petrified Filch's cat. Right before Harry could defend his attendant when Argus Filch enters the scene. "What's going on here? Stop crowding the halls you-" The old caretaker saw Mrs. Norris, frozen in the arms of the Oni Princess.

"M-Mrs. Norris?" Filch trails off, seeing his pet cat lifeless. "Y-Y-You killed…Mrs. Norris…"

Shuna remains cool-headed by the old caretaker's accusation over her. "I have not, I arrive when Harry-sama and his friends. We found your pet cat in a petrified state." She explains calmly.

Dumbledore and the rest of the main staff enter the hall, hearing the commotion from the ghost. "Argus-"

Dumbledore saw the bloody writing on the wall. "I want every student back in their dormitories this instant." He orders every Perfect from each House to lead the children away from this area. "Everyone but, you four." He eyes Harry and his friends.

"Headmaster, this girl-"

"Has not petrified Mrs. Norris, Argus," Dumbledore stated, assuming she can't doing magic. "But someone else did."

"Ah, too bad, I know a counterspell if I arrive in time-"

Diablo appeared with Ultima and Gabiru. "Ah, it seems you've gotten yourself in trouble young master." He walks over to the cat, examining her everywhere. "Mmm, interesting. I've seen this petrification before…Cockatrice? Gorgon? Basilisk? No, they're lizard-like. Curse object? Naga? No Albis is stonier than this…Oh well."

"Mr. Diablo, are you saying you can unpetrified Mr. Filch's cat?" McGonagall asked, a bit hopeful that he could do it. Even if he has to mention someone with the powers to petrify people.

"I need to consult my fellow subordinate about this kind of petrification," Diablo explains, motioning to Ultima next. "Though I'll have Ultima prepare the ingredients."

Ultima was confused, why was she being the one to help a cat. "And why should I help? I see nothing fun in helping others."

"How dare you, Mrs. Norris is-"

"In good hands, Ultima shall do it." Diablo glares at his fellow Primordial Demon, hearing her sigh.

Ultima hates it but can't really refuse. "Fine, it'll take me a few days but without knowing the species of said petrification I can't really do much." She shrugs,

"Have the Mandrakes do it, they are known to make the Mandrake Restorative Draught potions." McGonagall steps in, trying to help out where she can.

"Very well, you greasy man." Ultima points at Snape, receiving a raised eyebrow towards her. "Give me your laboratory, I need a place to work."

Snape scoffs, thinking for one second that if she could use his classroom he has carefully arrange. "Like hell I am, I still don't trust you girl. How do I know that you won't do anything in my lab?" He asked, wanting insurance for her to use it.

Harry steps in, "She takes orders from my dad, I'm next in line for the chain of command." He stated, seeing Dumbledore trying to stop this.

"Harry, my boy that won't be necessary." Dumbledore stared at him with twinkling blue eyes. "Professor Snape is more than capable of creating the potion. Besides you shouldn't be giving orders this young to…your caretaker's followers-"

"Very well, Harry-sama. I shall keep things as they were." Ultima waved her hand, hearing Harry's orders loud and clear.

Harry turns to Ultima, hearing that she complied with his request. "Thank you, Ultima." He smiles.

"For the meantime, go back to your dorms for the night," Dumbledore orders the three Gryffindors, wanting to conduct his investigation on this area.

The three nodded, obliging the old Wizard's request. "I shall escort them back," Gabiru jumps in the conversation.

Diablo and Shuna agree with the Dragon Lord. "Very well, Gabiru-dono, we shall leave the three in your care," Diablo said, hinting that he'll do his own investigation with Shuna.

"Alright, Diablo-dono." The Dragon Lord caught on to what the Demon said.

Harry felt Gabiru's hand on his back, guiding him and his friends to their rooms. "Come along, young master. You still have class tomorrow, then you can think of the tournament next week," The Dragonewt grins, trying to take his mind off of Mrs. Norris's fate.

Later that night, once everyone was asleep. Harry was still up, pondering on the event this evening. More importantly on the voice, he heard in the walls.

Harry got out of his bed, he slightly whistles to Hedwig to come over. The Snowy Owl flutters over to him, resting on his arm.

The young Majin and his familiar sat alone in the Common Room of his house. "I know I heard it, girl, I heard a voice crying out for help." He said to his owl.

Hedwig nuzzles against her partner's cheek in an attempt to make him feel better.

"I didn't hear anything, young master." Harry's shadow morphs, taking a form of a white Tempest Star Wolf.

Harry turns to his other follower, happy he was here. "Padfoot, of course, you didn't notice any-"

Padfoot shook his head, disagreeing with the young Majin. "I didn't say I notice something, Harry-sama." The white Wolf explains. "I do sense someone like me in pain and suffering."

"So I was right." Harry ponders on that feeling.

"If it makes things better, I suggest you do your own investigating," Padfoot suggested to the young Demon Lord.

Harry thought for a moment about what Padfoot suggested to him. Diablo, Shuna, Gabiru, or Ultima would just report to Rimuru if they caught on. Then he just realized something,

Harry looks down at Padfoot, curious about him. "Aren't you reporting things to Dad, Padfoot? You know, like the others?" He asked the White Tempest Star Wolf.

Padfoot shook his head, wagging his tail happily. "Of course not, young master. I'm the same age as you in human terms. I'm here as your companion, your loyal subordinate." He proclaims; his tail still wagging happily.

Harry reaches out, scratching Padfoot's head. "Thanks, Padfoot for being a friend." He chuckles.

Padfoot whines, panting with joy. "Anything for you, young master!" He barks.

The next morning Harry sat next to Ron on the left side of the Transfigurations classroom. Professor McGonagall was lecturing about transforming an animal into a glass goblet. He looks to his left where Diablo and Shuna stood near the wall next to their desk.

'I wonder where's Gabiru?' Harry thought,

Padfoot, still in his shadows answers for him. "He and Ultima-sama are on an assignment from Diablo-sama about last night's incident." He explains.

"I see," Harry nodded before hearing McGonagall clear her throat.

"Is there something you need, Mr. Tempest?" McGonagall raised her eyebrow, still holding to toucan on her arm.

Everyone snickers when Harry was told off like that by the Professor. "No, Professor," Harry answers,

McGonagall turns her head back to the toucan. "Now, right now I want you all to transform your familiars to water goblets like so," She took out her wand, gently placing it on the toucan.

"One, two, three, Vera Verto." The toucan immediately transformed into a glass goblet.

Diablo observes the old witch's magic, finding that spell intriguing for him. "Mmm, interesting."

McGonagall looks around the room for a volunteer to perform the spell. Of course, her eyes caught on to Hermione raising her hand, but she decided to try someone different. "Mr. Weasley, care to try the spell?" She asked.

Ron's face paled, knowing his wand's messed up. "Um…"

"Remember, one, two, three, Vera Verto," McGonagall observes the red-haired boy about to perform the spell.

Ron flicks his wand three times at Scabbers. "Vera Verto!" A magical outburst erupts, causing the rat to transform into a half rat and half goblet.

"You need to get that wand check, Mr. Weasley," McGonagall orders the young Wizard.

Hermione raised her hand, causing McGonagall to pick her. "Yes, Ms. Granger?"

"Professor, I was wondering if you can tell us about the Chamber of Secrets?" Hermione asked, receiving a worried expression on McGonagall's face.

The old witch looks around her classroom, seeing those who want to know as well. "I'm quite curious too, dear Professor," Diablo spoke out.

McGonagall sighs, "Very well, as you are aware Hogwarts was founded by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin." She explains about their friendship and ideals for the school, however went dark for Salazar.

" Salazar believes that magic should be performed by the Purebloods only, he has a distaste for the Muggle-born and Half-bloods." McGonagall shutters at the thought of Salazar's motives.

"According to legend, Salazar built a chamber knows as the Chamber of Secrets." McGonagall explains, "It is said that the only true heir of Slytherin can open the chamber and release the horror within." She continues dread and fear within her voice.

"In which it'll kill those in Slytherin's view to study Magic." McGonagall finishes before noticing Hermione raising her hand once more.

"Professor, why haven't we found the Chamber?" Hermione asked and the Transfigurations Professor answered promptly.

McGonagall looks at Hermione in a calm tone, "That's because Ms. Granger it's a legend. Nothing more." She states before moving on to the lesson.

Later that day Diablo had called in a meeting with the Guardians of their young master. "We know why we're here, I'm not going to waste time informing you all what has occurred."

Ultima scoffs at the leader of the Black Numbers. "Well duh, Harry-sama is in danger just being here." The Primordial Demon waves her hand, caring for his safety. "I say that we just bring him back to Tempest and let the Wizards deal with this problem on their own."

"Isn't that against Harry-sama's wishes?" Gabiru asked, thinking about the well-being of the young master. "He was clearly forceful when it comes to Hogwarts."

Shuna agrees with the Dragon Lord's statement. "Gabiru-dono is right, this is Harry-sama's wish, and must respect it." She stated.

Diablo sighs, "Very well, we need to keep a watchful eye around this school." He said to the group.

Ultima groans, crossing her arms in frustration. "Fine, if you all agree to it then I have to as well." She huffs.

"Shouldn't we inform Rimuru-sama about tonight's transgression?" Gabiru asked, knowing that the Slime wants to know everything that might cause danger to his son.

"Yes, I was about to use Hedwig for that to deliver a message to Gringotts then he can deliver to him," Diablo explains his plans to the group.

Ultima cleared her throat, "Might I ask to bring a certain person over for an insight of the petrification skills." she asked.

Diablo caught on to Ultima's suggestion. "Very well, I shall ask Carrion-sama." He said,

Shuna heard footsteps coming from the stairs. "Someone's coming." She motions to leave before a staff member sees them acting suspiciously.

"Is there someone here?" McGonagall walks into the Common Room, thinking she might've heard something in her House.

"Ah, Professor McGonagall good evening." The old Witch jumps, frighten to see the Demon Butler walking over with a piece of paper and a pen.

The old Professor sighs in relief that it was just Diablo and not an intruder. However the Demon just being here late at night is suspicious too, "Mr. Diablo, might I ask why you're up this late? Even butlers need sleep."

Diablo chuckles at the funny comment. "Kuhuhuhuhu, amusing Professor." He folded up the paper, then seals in an envelope. "I was merely giving my report to my master." He whistles, calling Hedwig over to him.

"I do hope it's acceptable for me to send a progress letter to my master, Professor?" Diablo asked, ready to use his charms if it comes to that.

"No, it's quite fine Mr. Diablo. I'm sure Mr. Tempest wants a report of Harry's school progress." McGonagall said, alright with him sending him daily reports to the adopted father of Harry. "Though, for future reference, I do suggest that you should refrain from sending Hogwarts schoolwork to Mr. Tempest. It's the teacher's job to do that in two weeks for our meetings."

Diablo nodded, walking to the window and release Hedwig to the night sky. "Duly noted." He smiles.

Tempest

Rimuru closes the folder of the Prosecutor report from Ultima's subordinate, Zonda. He should thank Ultima when she and the others get back for Christmas break for leaving someone to take over the Prosecutor position for Tempest. "Alright, there." He signs the document, handing it over to Shion.

"Shion, take this to Zonda on the second floor," Rimuru asked the Wicked Oni to deliver the last paperwork for today.

Shion accepted the folder happily, "Of course, I will give it to him right away." She turns around seeing Rigur walking into their Lord's office.

"Rimuru-sama, Diablo-sama has sent a report of the young master's progress at his school." The Hobgoblin King walks over to the Slime's desk, handing the letter to him.

Shion was curious, looking at the Demon Lord as he opens the letter. "What does it say, Rimuru-sama?" the War Lord asked her master.

Rimuru smiles reading the first part of Diablo's letter. "Well, Harry has shown an improvement with his sword fighting." He read.

"Mmm, just like the young master. Always working his hardest!" Shion exclaims her pride for Harry.

"His management skills need some work, but progressing." Rimuru continued.

Rigurd sniffs, feeling proud of their young master. "He's making us proud, my Lord!" The Hobgoblin King cried.

"And-WHAT!?" Rimuru stood up abruptly, reading the last part of the letter.

Both Rigurd and Shion jump when they heard their lord exclaims. "W-What is it Rimuru-sama?" Rigurd asked cautiously, worried that something happened to the young master.

"Did something happened to Harry-sama?" Shion asked, hoping this wasn't the case.

Rimuru sat back down in his chair, hand scratching the back of his head. "It seems there's a petrification incident in the school. (Chamber of Secrets…wasn't that an old legend?)" He questions though he should not be surprised that name is mentioned. Most legends are actually true, just like Eren's fairytale.

"Did Diablo request for assistants over at Hogwarts?" Shion asked the Demon Lord.

"Just one, Albis. She might have some insights into what's happening at the school." Rimuru ponders, rereading the letter. "Though, she is over at Eurazania for her monthly check-in with Carrion." He ponders, taking the paper next to him and wrote her name on it.

Rigurd observes what the Slime is doing, seeing the name of the Lycanthrope on with some other names. "My lord, what are you doing?"

Rimuru looks at Rigurd, placing his pen down. "Just writing the names who are coming with me in two weeks to Hogwarts, Rigur. Albis is now coming as a consult for Ultima creating the antidote." He explains, looking at the sky.

'Harry, please don't do anything foolish over there.'

AN: How do you like it? Rimuru comes over soon, then the chaos will start. Please leave a comment or review.
