Hear Each Other's Name and Forget to Concentrate
Booth took a long swig of his scotch, savouring the burning sensation down his throat as Hannah chattered on about her latest trip with the President. The bar was crowded, and he'd much rather be at home, but he had missed her while she was away.
"So we were supposed to be staying in this amazing luxury hotel, but apparently there are two hotels with the same name in this town, one is a complete dump, so we arrive…"
'Joining us to discuss her latest book, please welcome forensic anthropologist and bestselling novelist, Dr. Temperance Brennan.' The TV above Hannah's head in the corner of the bar had it's volume turned relatively low, but her name caught his attention, and he glanced up at the rerun of the interview on some morning show from earlier in the day.
It had been a while since they'd actually spent any real time together, just the two of them, outside of work. He was busy with Hannah and Parker, and obviously Bones was busy visiting morning shows and charming Mario Lopez by the looks of this interview. She'd come a long way since her first book tour. Gone was the awkward and uncomfortable woman who spent all of her time locked inside her lab. She was still the same old Bones, but there was a new air of confidence about her as she chatted and laughed with the hosts.
"Seeley…" Hannah's hand waved in front of his eyes and he turned his focus on her face. She was looking at him expectantly, like she'd just asked him a question and was waiting for an answer. "She looks great, huh?" Hannah commented. "You ever actually read her books? Are they any good?" She asked, glancing over her shoulder at the TV that held his attention.
"She's amazing…" He muttered, answering honestly and without thinking. "Her books, I mean. I've read 'em all more than once."
"Didn't really take you for the crime and romance type based on your collection of comic books…" Hannah teased, and he laughed.
"They're graphic novels." He argued, and she raised her eyebrows at him. "They are!"
'What inspires you when you're writing these gruesome tales?' Mario Lopez asked her as the interview played on.
'My partner, Agent Seeley Booth, and the cases that we work on together inspire much of my creativity.' She replied confidently.
Booth smiled, he'd have to text her and let her know the interview looked great. He hadn't even realized she was going on the show, but it had been a few days since they'd last spoken.
"You're very distracted." Hannah commented, pouting dramatically.
Booth shrugged and leaned in to give her a quick kiss. "Your best friend's on TV flirting with Mario Lopez, you tend to pay attention to that." He commented, and she thankfully laughed.
