Harry Potter was an unusual boy indeed. He was abused by his aunt and uncle, and bullied by his cousin, while his parents were constantly insulted by his "dear" Aunt Petunia. His "absolutely lovable" Uncle Vernon was not helping matters, by egging both of them on- sometimes even participating in it himself. The worst of it all actually was whenever anything strange actually occurred around him- For example, while being chased by Dudley and his cronies, Harry had vaulted over a pile of trash, only to find himself feeling like he had been sucked through a straw and reaching the school roof. That had earned him a week locked in his room- wait, that's not right- his cupboard under the stairs is what should be said.

Even so, Harry had a secret which he had protected for a long time- He knew that he was a psychic power holder- a so-called ESPer, if you will. He had been able to read Aunt Petunia's mind since his 8th birthday, and had found out that his mother had actually fallen victim to a certain Lord Voldemort- who had targeted him for some reason. His mother, who was similar to him, had placed a protective 'charm' on him, so that he was protected till he became of age. Since these memories had been revealed, Harry knew that Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon intended to block the usage of his powers.

Harry's other ability, which he found very useful, was the ability to memorize and gain an instinctive understanding of any book and absorb the experiences and memories of other people as if it were his own, if he so wished to and when the said target was within a certain range. He had used this ability to its fullest, memorizing the entire school library, and even was able to become the top student in his class- one of many things the Dursleys hated and punished him for. They thought that he had been sneaking books out of the library, and tried to get the school to ban him from using the library except for schoolwork. Not that it mattered- the school actually threatened them instead- and so Harry decided to annoy the Dursleys by bringing and reading some books which he liked- voracious reader that he was- and almost got caught almost all the time.

He also could create specific powers, but he didn't really see the point in that.

Now, Harry was about to turn 11- his birthday, July 31, fast approaching- but was sleeping on the sandy floor of a place called Hut-On-The-Rocks on a small island on a stormy night, where the Dursleys had retreated after a week of receiving thousands of letters in yellowed paper which looked suspiciously like parchment, which they apparently thought were not worth anything, since they were addressed to Harry. For his part, Harry continued to hide his powers, determined to keep them in the dark until times were suitable. He had just finished drawing a pitiful picture of his birthday cake and was waiting for midnight, when suddenly a bomb went off ou- 'Wait a minute, a bomb? In a storm?'. Uncle Vernon apparently agreed, as he had literally brought the big gun out.

Although, the sight of the man who broke that door down was enough to scare the four of them. This large man went and twisted the 'big gun' into a rather well-done slipknot while saying "Dry up, Dursley", before seeing Harry and immediately beaming ("Good ter see yeh, Harry!"). Vernon Dursley, however, was not to be dissuaded, as he had immediately tried to turn this 'giant man' out("I demand that you leave these premises immediately!" "Ah, shuddup Dursley!"). Mr. Giant then introduced himself as Rubeus Hagrid, and handed Harry the same yellow letter which the Dursleys were reluctant to accept, having burned the lot on sight.

Harry ripped the envelope open and quickly read through the letter, just wondering about two things- What was Hogwarts and who was he? On asking Hagrid these two questions, the questioned person was beside himself with fury and explained what Hogwarts was- a school for witches and wizards. As to who he was, he was told that his parents were magical, and had been targeted by a Dark wizard called Lord Voldemort, and that he was the only one to have survived any bits of nasty work by him. Petunia had expressed her distaste for her sister, although Harry read her mind and realized that she actually had gotten over her jealousy (all of three years ago) and was simply scared of Vernon. Well, Dudley was completely pigging out by eating the birthday cake that Hagrid had baked Harry, and got a well deserved bit of punishment when Vernon had enraged Hagrid further by insulting Albus Dumbledore, the Headmaster of Hogwarts. Poor Dudley had been given a pig's tail as a belated birthday present.

In the morning, Harry woke to find an owl pecking at Hagrid. He tapped his foot, triggered his ESP (should he call it that?) and understood what to do. Pulling the coat that Hagrid told him to kip under, he found 5 Bronze Knuts to pay the owl after taking the Daily Prophet. Hagrid had woken up a few minutes later, and felt glad that Harry had had the presence of mind to pay the owl 5 Knuts. Of course, Harry had pretended to have been a bit confused before estimating the amount by the owl's reaction.

That day, Hagrid had taken Harry to Diagon Alley in London, via the Leaky Cauldron, where he had to endure an embarrassing tirade of people wanting to touch him. He managed to break free and enter Diagon Alley, though, and was amazed by the sight. He pretended to trip over a stone, and slightly stomped his foot to absorb a lot of knowledge. Instantly, he understood that his ESP was nothing but a branch of magic hitherto unknown- Unique magic. He was also pleased to know that if the book was a book on magic, he could also absorb the experiences of the author that had written that book. He only had strange encounters at Madam Malkin's and Ollivander's. The encounter at Madam Malkin's was with a fellow student, who seemed rude, had a scrawny face, was platinum blond and drawled. Harry almost hexed him when he read his thoughts, but decided against it.

Ollivander's had Harry encounter Garrick Ollivander, a wandmaker who said strange stuff, and seemed to remember people by their wands. However, even Garrick seemed shocked when Harry actually was chosen by two wands, which zoomed toward him after the first wand was tried. It was decided that Harry would have the holly wand (which was 11 inches long and had a phoenix feather core) as his main wand, and the other wand (made of walnut, was 8 and a half inches long and also had a phoenix core) would be a free backup wand that Garrick gifted him for his 11th birthday, and the 10 birthdays before that. However, in Garrick's words, "I do believe that we can expect great things from you, Mr. Potter, for He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named - who did great, but terrible deeds - had a wand whose core was given by the same phoenix, and it was curious that it would choose you while it's brother gave you that scar." Harry was creeped out, but didn't really show it.

Since then, Harry had almost nothing to fear (not that he ever had ever since he became 8 years old) from the Dursleys. He did, however, quickly go through all of his textbooks, and from his absorbed knowledge, realized that he had 3 Unique Magics. One rendered him impervious to most magic (He didn't know what the exceptions were or could be, but he could guess that the curse meant to kill wasn't one), the second was his second ESP- which he quickly named Experientia effusion or Experience Absorption- and the last one was an All magic creation/Mastery magic which he named Magicae progenitor or Spell Crafter. His mind-reading power turned out to surprisingly be a branch of magic called Legilimency, and that it could be blocked by a branch called Occlumency. Since figuring that out, Harry had started practising Occlumency, and was quite successful at it. In any case, he rather felt that he should keep these unique magic and Legilimensic talents as much undercover as possible, as he had a sneaking suspicion that he would need it to face Voldemort- Harry decided that he wasn't going to be scared of a name, else, he would be quailing at the mention of the Dursleys.

A week after his birthday, Harry felt that his alter-ego was about to initiate a conversation within his mind, and so he decided to enter his mind while he slept in his bedroom, which was a welcome upgrade for him. The cupboard was beginning to feel slightly cramped as it was.

Inside his mind he saw a reflection of himself which felt a bit less dark than himself. He himself was not as dark, mind, as the black miasma he had inside his scar- which was puzzling him to no end as it was- but the alter ego was a bit less vindictive in his thought process than he himself was. Harry called this bright(?) version of himself Manny, and was, as always, pleased to see him.

"Hello, Harry. I presume you want to talk about our plans for the future. But before that, I wanna know all the info that you have about the magical world, so wait a bit."

Harry patiently waited while Manny absorbed all the information that Harry had assimilated- which was then stored in a shared portion of their minds.

"Interesting. You think Voldemort, despicable as he is, must've survived somehow… While I do so hope he is dead, I can't help but think that your paranoia is warranted. Doesn't mean that's a bad thing though. Did you scan the people at Diagon? We do need quite the advantage to take care of him. Also, we need to see if we gained any inheritances from your parents… I feel they should have had, given their proclivity to prudence in wartime, a Will made that specifies everything they wanted for you. Any ideas? They couldn'tve wanted you here of all places, especially when the relationship between your mother and aunt soured forever more."

Harry thought a bit before replying, "Maybe the goblins? We need to get to Gringotts ASAP. Problem is, the wards we sensed would normally alert the people who set it up to you leaving for any reason. How do you change that?"

"The Aegis?" Manny replied. "At any rate, those wards were rendered obsolete when you awakened your Unique Magic. You could probably leave right now and the wards wouldn't be triggered. Although why the wards exist, I don't know."

Harry was perplexed at that point- after thinking for a bit, however, he answered slowly, "I don't trust Dumbledore, even if he is well-intentioned. Why the hell would he place me here is the more immediate question. We may have to work in the shadows, but we're used to it, aren't we, Manny?"

Manny replied "That we are. How do we get there though? Not like anyone would accept Galleons in the mundane- I refuse to call them muggle- world."

This, Harry figured, was completely obvious- "Apparate. I managed it when I was eight, and I know I am capable of it. I could class it as a case of accidental magic, even if the Trace on my wand is not activated. A better idea is to use that method of travel we developed- Stepping. This, along with a notice-me-not would work wonders for secrecy."

"That works, the Dursleys are scared enough that it would work, but the problem is that someone could recognize you once you dispel that charm. How do you counter that?"

That stumped Harry, till he recalled a book he absorbed on Human Transfiguration… Self-Transfiguration wasn't possible without a wand unless you were a Metamorphmagus. The scar could also be hidden, as was proven!

"I just realized that I'm a Metamorphmagus, Metamorph for short… that takes care of the appearance issue. And we can fake a random magic signature to fool Law Enforcement- Wandless magic is a necessity in the future, however."

With that, the two established a mind conversation link and slept for real.

The next morning, on August 8 that is, after testing the wand-ego compatibility on Manny's request (Manny was the 8 and a 1/2 inch wand and Harry was the 11 inch wand), Harry practised the magic spells in his textbooks. Once he was satisfied with the activation of each spell, which took until high noon, he figured he should visit Diagon Alley now. Since his first visit, he retained his key that Hagrid had with him.

When he reached Charing Cross Road unnoticed, he immediately tried accessing his Metamorph powers to give himself a massive scar across his forehead, wavy brown hair, and blue eyes. He also softened his features to make himself more feminine. This way, he managed to hide his identity. He decided to call this guise Mitchell Caesar. In Gringotts, he dropped his disguise and approached a goblin teller.

"Excuse me, my name is Harry Potter, and I have reason to believe that my parents left a Will in case of their death. If true, I would wish to see it. Also, should they have had an account manager, I wish to meet him" Manny decided that covering their bases was prudent. The teller looked quite surprised to meet him. And inordinately pleased as well. This led to some suspicion on Harry's part.

Harry was led to an ornate room deep within the bank, that gave the impression of magnificence. While surprised, he felt deeply uncomfortable here, since he knew of the displeasure they felt by being led here.

"And what, exactly, do you think you're doing here, Mr. Potter?" asked a guttural voice. Turning around, Harry found himself face to face with a goblin in a suit that, while business oriented, allowed the goblin free movement for battle. The rudeness in his voice shocked Harry and Manny alike, since neither remembered offending any goblin. Alarm bells were ringing in their head.

Deciding to be confrontational, to goad information out of them, Harry spoke out "I was under the impression that the goblins of Gringotts wouldn't offend a client without good reason. Pray tell, what may I have done to anger the Goblins, when this is only my second encounter with your kind." He inserted as much authority as he could, and considering his actions from childhood, he was pretty forceful.

"You should know, Mr. Potter, what you said the last time we met. We have been fortunate enough to speak on many occasions, yet you do your parents a disservice by not trusting us to guard your accounts! Insulting us while thinking of closing your accounts when you hold no authority to do so, you seem to think of the goblins as your servants! I should think you are not that stupid to return to us with an innocent demeanour NOT ONE WEEK LATER!" The goblins' words instantly confirmed the need to assess the situation with new eyes.

Using Experience Absorption and the processing power of two personalities in one Occluded brain, Harry and Manny analyzed all of the goblin's memories. And what they discovered managed to piss them off. "Next time, take a blood inheritance test of the asshole who dared impersonate me, Ragnok." Taking his holly wand out, he simply said "I, Harry James Potter, solemnly swear on my magic and life that today is the first time I have EVER met Ragnok, the Director of the London Branch of Gringotts Wizarding Bank! I also swear that I have never visited Gringotts since my parents' deaths prior to my 11th birthday! Sworn on Magic, so it is proven!"

Ragnok was left reeling, since the boy he currently despised had just made an Ancient Vow, something even more powerful than a normal magical vow, and mentioned him by name. After Harry had ascertained the vow, he performed a simple levitation charm, that proved the veracity of his oath. It was then that Ragnok himself realized the fallout of his actions, and what the Vow being accepted meant.

"Forgive my impertinent remarks, Mr. Potter. However, I must know how it is that you know my name, having not met me prior to today?"

Harry simply sighed, knowing the goblin customs now, meant that he was capable of not pissing them off. In fact, their warrior nature would help him immensely. "So long as you keep it to the goblins for now, I don't mind telling you. And no, I wouldn't need an oath of any kind."

While Ragnok would be happy to do so, he knew that the Goblin Ruling Council (GRC) would require an explanation. Luckily, they were convened at the moment, and were willing to listen. He simply asked Harry to follow him.

Harry, knowing that he was being led to the GRC meeting, silently followed him, seething all the while. Once there, Ragnok quickly explained the situation regarding the Potter accounts- Apparently, someone was inclined to think that Harry was under his/her control. As such, that person saw fit to create a homunculus of Harry, and proceeded to use it as a replacement for him, to piss off the goblins. Knowing the state of affairs about Harry, someone wanted the illusion of Harry willingly co-operating with said person… Ostensibly, the only one with the means to do this was Dumbledore himself.

Harry coming and making that oath was a pretty serious matter, and since he repeated it, verbatim, the GRC had no choice but to accept that they had unwittingly tricked a customer, being tricked themselves.

30 minutes later

Harry had then proceeded to explain all his Unique Magic to those who agreed to keep it a secret. Needless to say, the goblins were impressed that an 11-year-old had mastered Unique Magic. They also agreed to keep the illusion of Dumbledore's trickery working up for as long as possible. In the meantime, he took an inheritance test. The results would only be apparent after 3 months, which is why he'll be reading the results on Christmas.

Harry exited, Manny contemplating the implications of a homunculus- Artificial humans- being used for them.
