FIRE and BLOOD in Remnant Ch 5

Ruby Rose meet Draegon Targaryen

"Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past. Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness – creatures of destruction – the creatures of Grimm – set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void. However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named "Dust". Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's, absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone... darkness will return. So, you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called "free world", but take heed... there will be no victory in strength."

"But perhaps victory is in the simpler things and extraordinary things that you've long forgotten, things that require a smaller, more Honest soul and someone willing to become a Hero for believing in doing what's right."

The broken moon was shining in the night sky as a teenager was walking through the city of vale dressed in black and red with two swords one on each side strapped to his waist. He wore a black leather Jacket with a red hood which was up and he had a strange symbol on his back as people looked at him as he passed by, they saw a red 3 headed dragon.

The teen didn't care that they were looking he needed to run errands before he met up with his brother. His last errand was at a shop called "From Dust Till Dawn," Draegon walked into the store and saw an old man at the cashier.

"Fire Dust powdered please," he asked. The man nodded and handed him a large vile of red dust. Draegon handed him some Lien that he earned from odd Jobs over the years. The shopkeeper took it and Draegon took the vile opened it and poured it all over his coat without spilling anything. The Man looked at him in confusion, Draegon noticed it and spoke.

"Dust infused Clothes has to be restored with dust every once in a while." The man simply nodded at the answer. "I think I'll go browse your magazines if that's cool with you," Draegon said since he had his errands done and still had time before he met up with Drogon the man nodded again he was okay with that. Draegon walked to the back of the store and he saw that he wasn't the only one who was here at this hour. He saw a girl who wore a black long-sleeved blouse with a high collar and red trim on the sleeves, over which is a black waist cincher with red lacing up the front, and a matching skirt with red lining. She also wears a pair of thick black stockings and black combat boots with red laces, red trims around the top, and red soles. Her outfit is topped by a red hooded cloak fastened to her shoulders by cross-shaped pins. Her emblem appears as a large silver buckle on her wide black belt, which is slung around her hips on an angle. Attached to her belt are a pocket and a row of bullets. She was reading magazine on weapons.

Draegon decided to look at a magazine about Atlas news since he's never been there, too cold for both him and Drogon. Nearly five minutes into his reading which was about Wiess Schnee charity consort he heard someone to his left speak.

"Alright kids put your hands where I can see them," said a man in a black suit with red shades holding a sword. Draegon heard him but ignored him and so did the girl with the red hood.

"Hey I said hands in the air," he said a little more loudly he went to grab the girl "You got a death wish or something." He touched her and pulled her hood down revealing that she was listening to music.

"Huh," the Girl said looking at him confused while Draegon ignored them completely before another guy grabbed him as well. The man pointed to his head referring to the girls' headphones.

"Yes," she said as she took them off.

"I said put your hands in the air now," the man said even more annoyed.

"You as well pretty boy," the other grunt said placing a hand on his shoulder. Draegon looked at him with a bored/annoyed look.

"Are you robbing me," the girl asked.

"Yes," he said.

"Oh," she said before narrowing her eyes and smirked before with swift kick sent the man flying into a wall. Draegon looked at the other grunt who was looking shocked at what just happened and notice his hand was still on his jacket.

"Get your hands off of me," Draegon said as the grunt turned towards him only for Draegon to grab him by the arm, spin him around before throwing him into the wall next to the other grunt that just got thrown. Draegon noticed that the music on her headphones was still playing and he had to admit that was a good song.

"Freeze," two more grunts said pointing guns at them.

Outside the shop it was super quiet but soon the window broke and Draegon along with the girl jumped out with the two guys whose faces were implanted into their shoes. The grunts looked out the destroyed window to see the girl had pulled out her weapon which unfolded into a Scythe and Draegon decided to draw Dark Sister form the right side of his waist. "These clowns aren't worthy of Blackfyre heck they're not even worthy of Dark Sister but I still need to train with my swords," Draegon thought as he placed the blade on his shoulder. He looked and saw one guy in all white whom he recognized from the wanted posters as Roman Torchwick he then saw the girl swing her Scythe around before implanting it on the ground and turning off her headphones she smiled at Draegon who only rose an eyebrow at her.

"Okay get them," he said looking at the grunts as they were looking as well before they ran out of the shop to fight them.

One of the Grunts ran to Ruby who lifted herself and swung around her Scythe and kicked him back. Another went for Draegon who wasn't even looking at him he raised his sword to strike him quickly only for Draegon to block it with one hand holding Dark Sister he tried from a different approach but again Draegon blocked it. No matter where or how many times he swung Draegon blocked them all without even looking. He did notice one of the grunts heading towards him from the other side. Draegon having enough kicked the man he was fighting in the stomach and punched the other guy in the face with free hand. Draegon looked over to see the Girl spin in midair before finishing off the rest of the Grunts.

"Thanks for the help," she said. Draegon simply shrugged his shoulders and noticed Roman walking past one of the fallen grunts.

"You were worth every cent truly you were," he said as he dropped the Cigar and squished it with his cane. "Well Red and Broody I think we can all say it sure has been an eventful evening." "As much as I'd love to stick around…." He raised his cane and the bottom opened up revealing to be a target lens, "…. I'm afraid this is where we part ways." Roman fired it Draegon and the girl widen their eyes, he quickly summersaulted out of the way while the girl used her Scythe to jump over it. He noticed when he got back up that Roman was gone. Both of them looked around until they both see Roman climbing up a ladder of a building.

"You ok if we go after him," the girl said to the shopkeeper as he came out of the store and nodded. "Come on," she said to Draegon only to notice that he was already going after him.

Roman jumped to the roof followed by Draegon and the girl. "Hey," she shouted making both Draegon stop and Roman further away stop.

"Persistent," Roman grumbles as Draegon and the girl ready their weapons to fight. All of a sudden, a Bullhead rises up in front of them all. Roman climbs on and turns to them shouting, "End of the line kids," before throwing a red dust crystal at them. Draegon sees Roman about to fire it and quickly tackles the girl out of the way as it explodes and Roman cheers. However, its only temporary because a Huntress appears and protect them both from the explosion.

The Huntress appears to be a middle-aged woman that has very light-blonde hair tied back in a bun with a curl hanging down the right side of her face. Her eyes are bright green and she wears thin ovular glasses. She has dangling teal earrings that match the hanging pendant on her collar. She wears a white long-sleeved, pleated top that has a wide keyhole neckline and gauntlet cuffs that flare in pleats at the wrist. Her lower body is covered by a black high-waisted pencil skirt with bronze buttons and black fading into brown stockings. She wears black boots with bronze heels and a cape that is purple inside and black on the outside. The cut of the cape is stylized to end in flames and arrows, with a row of diamond-shaped bronze beads on the back. Above this line of beads appears an emblem of a tiara that is her personal symbol.

Draegon and the girl got up to see she had made a shield before humming and pushing her glasses into place. The girl let out a smile while Draegon rose his eyebrows in surprise since he never thought he would see a Huntress or a Huntsman ever again since he preferred to keep to himself with Drogon outside the Kingdoms. The Huntress Unleashed a Dust attack at the Bullhead causing Roman to go to the pilot.

"We got a Huntress," he said as the Pilot left for him to steer while she deals with the Huntress. The Huntress unleashes storm clouds over the ship before raining ice over it making a lot of dents. Then on the side of the Bullhead a woman in heels and a red dress appears. Draegon narrows his eyes but can't quite make out their face since its covered in shadow but he can see she has amber colored eyes.

The woman blast fire at the Huntress who quickly dodges it. Only to see it about explode under her but she jumps away in time and uses her crop to turn the debris into a spear and launch it at them. The mysterious woman fires at it smashing it to pieces but the Huntress uses what left to circle around and try to bring the Bullhead down. Roman seeing this uses the controls to dodge it slightly only getting a scratch. She aims at multiple points but the woman unleashes a burst of fire disintegrating all of the debris. The girl transformers her scythe and begins shooting at the woman but she stops all the bullets with her hands. Draegon having enough of waiting also attacks he throws his right fist out and parts of his black jacket glow red and unleash a torrent of flames. The woman fires her own torrent back and they appear in a stand off until both of them stop from tiredness. The woman quickly waves her hand and Draegon and the Huntress notice fire bombs below their feet about to go off. Draegon jumps out of the way and the Huntress pushes the girl out of the way before she jumps instantly out of the explosion. They look to see the Bullhead leaving and out of range.

"If Drogon was here I could have gone after them," Draegon mumbled with disappointment before looking at the Girl and the Huntress.

"You're a Huntress, can I have your autograph?" The Girl said while Draegon raised an eyebrow in surprise at the childish question.

Later at the police station interrogation room Draegon sat next to the girl with his arms crossed while the girl looked down with disappointment in her eyes.

"I hope your actions tonight will not be taken lightly tonight you two," the huntress now known a Glynda Goodwitch said as she walked around the table. "You put yourselves and others I great danger."

"They started it," the Girl shouted in defiance.

"If it were up to me, you'd both be sent home with a pat on your back…." Glynda paused and looked to see the Girl give a happy expression while Draegon remains impassive, "…and a slap on the wrist." She finished slamming her crop on the table causing the girl to flinch while Draegon didn't even flinch because he wouldn't be scared of something as trivial as this.

"But there is someone here who wants to meet you both," she walks to the side of the room as a middle-aged man with tousled silver hair and thin brown eyes. Has a light complexion and sharp facial features. He wears shaded glass spectacles and a small, purple, cross-shaped pin on the cowl around his neck. His outfit mainly consists of an unzipped black suit over a dark green, buttoned vest and green shirt. He also appeared to be wearing black trouser shoes and long, dark-green pants. He is holding a plate of cookies and a coffee mug.

"Ruby Rose you have Silver eyes," he said as he got a closer look at the girl now identified as Ruby. Draegon rose an eyebrow at that comment soon the man looks over at him with a calm expression.

"Draegon Targaryen, quite a unique name you have." Draegon and Ruby look at each other now knowing the other persons name while Ruby said "Ummm."

"So where did the two of you learn to do this," the man said as Glynda held up a video of them fighting the grunts.

"Signal Academy," Ruby said and looked at Draegon wondering where he learned his training.

"I taught myself," Draegon replied still on guard because he wasn't sure if he could trust these people.

"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed," the man asked in surprised to Ruby since he was more curious about her than Draegon at the moment and would come back to him.

"Well one teacher in particular," Ruby spoke with a little confidence.

"I see," the man placed the cookies in front of them and Ruby started gobbling them up while Draegon simply kept looking at the man for he wasn't hungry right now.

"Its just that I've only scene one other Scythe wielder before a dusty old Qrow," the man continues thinking back.

"Mmmeah that's my uncle mmm," Ruby said with a mouthful. Draegon looked at her with a don't talk with your mouth full glance.

"Sorry, that's my uncle Qrow he's a teacher at Signal I was complete garbage until he took me under his wing. Now I'm all like ptttuh waaa ya," she said as everyone listen to her story.

"So I've noticed," the man said with a small grin he placed his coffee mug down and continued, "and what is an adorable girl such as yourself training at a school to face monsters?" he asked.

"Well, I want to become a huntress," Ruby said with extreme confidence.

"You want to slay monsters," the man replied.

"Yeah, I only have two more years of training a Signal and then I'm going to apply to Beacon. You see my sister is starting this year and she's trying to become a Huntress and I'm trying to become a Huntress because I want to help people. My parents always taught us to help others so I thought I might as well make a career out of it. The police are okay but Huntsmen and Huntress are so much more romantic and exciting and cool you know!" Ruby said as she took a breath at the three people looking at her. Draegon had a surprise face at how fast she was talking while Glynda had a slightly upset look and the man remained the same.

"Do you two know who I am?" he asked

"Never had the pleasure," Draegon said as his face turned back to uncertain.

"He's Professor Ozpin, He's the headmaster of Beacon," Ruby said with a I can't believe you don't know who he is look.

"Hello," Ozpin said.

"Nice to meet you," Ruby replied.

"I see," Draegon said

"You want to come to my school," Ozpin asked.

"More than anything," Ruby replied. Ozpin looked at Glynda who just rolled her eyes.

"Well okay." Ozpin said. Ruby had an excited look on her face.

"What about you Mr. Draegon I have heard how you don't like people calling you Mr. Targaryen. So how did you learn how wield a rather unique sword like this, and what is it made out of its so light," he said pointing to Draegons Sword Dark Sister that was off to the side with Blackfyre and Ruby's Scythe.

"It's made of Valyrian Steel the swords were made over 300 years ago by my ancestors there probably the last Valyrian steel items in existence," Draegon said and thought he might as well answer some of their questions even though he didn't trust them.

"Fascinating," Ozpin said while Ruby was ogling the swords since they were made out of one-of-a-kind metals.

"I've never heard of Valyrian before," "All I know is that its what my ancestor were called back then." Draegon answered still on guard and looking at his swords both Ozpin and Glynda noticed this and Ozpin tried to ease the tension. "You don't have to be on such a guard Mr. Draegon we are not your enemy."

"Forgive me sir but the last time I trusted a Huntsman I lost someone very close to me," Draegon said with sadness, Ruby and Ozpin could feel his sadness he decided to change the subject. "I understand and I know it must be hard but your demonstration at the Dust shop showed you happen to be a great warrior. Even though you didn't attend any previous schools I would like to offer you the same chance to join Beacon Academy." Ozpin said with hopefulness while Glynda remained neutral and Ruby looked excited.

Draegon looked at all of them and took a deep breath and exhaled before answering. "I'm sorry but I can't," Draegon said as he went for his weapons and was about to leave. Glynda was about to stop him since they weren't done but Ozpin held his hand up stop her. However, someone else didn't like his answer.

"What are you thinking this is the opportunity of a life time," Ruby said as she dashed in front of Draegon cutting him off from leaving. "Sorry but I have more important things to do besides it wouldn't work out."

"Oh may we ask why." Ozpin asked still sitting at his spot.

"Draegon looked away before speaking, "The reason I can't go is because I'm on a Quest looking for answers about things you couldn't possibly believe and someone dangerous whose out there, that I need to find and kill." Draegon had anger at the ending and Ozpin narrowed his eyes immediately thinking of a few people that Draegon might be referring to. Ruby looked a little worried and wondering what answers could he be looking for.

"Besides," Draegon continued breaking them from their thoughts. "I can't leave my brother behind and he's not much of a people person." Draegon finished before Ozpin smiled. "Do you mean this brother," Ozpin held the tablet that showed a shadowy picture of Drogon. As he did Draegon widen his eyes in disbelief. "In all these pictures we've taken of this creature we see someone near it in the corner of our pictures," Ozpin said as he pointed to a corner of Drogon picture and both Ruby and Draegon looked at it and saw Draegon waving at Drogon. Draegon smacked his head with his hand on how stupid he could be and not double check his surroundings. Ruby grew sparkles in her eyes before she zoomed up to him. "What is that creature? Its so big and can you control it?" Ruby said at a super-fast paste.

"I'm curious as well because I can already tell it's not a Grimm but it's nothing I've ever seen before except in books," Ozpin said as he clasped his hands together and looked at Draegon.

"Yes, it's what you think it is, it's a Dragon and his name is Drogon he's my brother," Draegon said. He looked at them and continued, "this is another reason why I stay outside the Kingdoms and can't go to Beacon. Every time I fly near villages people scream in terror at Drogon thinking he's a Grimm. Yes, he could kill people but I'm teaching him restraint and he's learning well. Still, I don't think Humans or Faunus want to understand a fire breathing Dragon they just want to fear it," Draegon finished.

"I'd like to understand it," Ruby said in confidence making Draegon look at her in surprise and Ozpin smiled remembering Ruby's mother Summer and how she was a lot like her. "As would I," said Ozpin as he got up from his seat. "Beacon is a big location I'm sure we can find somewhere comfortable for Drogon to live if you come to our school and you may find answers their instead of traveling blindly around Remnant looking for clues that you may never find, the choice is yours to make," Ozpin finished. Draegon looked at an impassive Glynda, a neutral Ozpin, and a hopeful and excited Ruby Rose. Draegon sighed "I'll think about it," he said looking at all three of them. "May I please leave now it's very late and I don't want Drogon to start wondering where I am," Draegon said in a polite tone. Ozpin nodded "of course if you agree a Bullhead will be leaving tomorrow for the two of you to take towards Beacon." Draegon nodded and left and Ruby did as well very excited. Once they were outside the Station they were going in opposite directions until Ruby turned around. "Draegon," Ruby called out and Draegon stopped and turned his head towards her. "I just wanted to say thanks for helping me and I hope you do come to Beacon there's more to it than people believe," Ruby said as Draegon nodded and started walking away waving to Ruby with his back turned and Ruby continues her way home.

Much later Draegon is walking through a vast open field out side the kingdom of Vale with the moon shining bright in the Sky. He heads towards an unusual hill but the hill starts to move and reveals to be Drogon. Draegon smiles and starts petting him finds his supplies hidden under his wing as he slept. He then sits down next to Drogon head and pulls out one of the eggs looking at it and then looking at the moon. He starts to brood looking at the moon and he can see Drogon is staring at him with curiosity. Draegon smiles before he places the egg back into the bag and continues to pet Drogon who lets out a small growl like purr. "I don't want people to fear us Drogon," Draegon said as he looked at the moon thinking about his decision and thinking about his mother Daenerys. "I want them to respect us and maybe becoming a Huntsman might allow us to get respect and find answers to questions we have." He continues before seen a brief image of his mother in the moon and she whispers, "You're a Dragon my son be a Dragon," she said and disappears. Draegon looks at Drogon who was also looking at the moon before looking back at Draegon. Draegon smiled and he made his choice.

The next day on the Bullhead.

"Oh, I can't believe my baby Sister is going to Beacon with me this is the best day ever." The girl identified as Yang Xiao long. As they were now on a Bullhead to Beacon Academy.

She wears a tan jacket that bears her midriff, with golden brown piping and short, puffy sleeves with black cuffs that feature two gold buttons. Underneath this, she wears a low-cut yellow crop top with her emblem on the left breast in black. She also wears a brown belt covered by a pleated brown piece of material reaching from hip to hip around the back of her waist, with her emblem emblazoned on the right-most pleat in gold. Underneath this is a long, white, asymmetrical piece of material reaching to her knee on the right side, as well as a pair of tight black spandex compression shorts that reach her upper thighs. She wears a pair of brown, knee-high boots and orange over-the-knee socks, with the right sock pushed down just below the knee. A gray bandanna is tied around her left knee. An orange infinity scarf and black fingerless gloves complete her outfit.

"Please stop," Ruby said as she was getting crushed.

"But I'm so proud of you," she continues.

"Really sis it was nothing," Ruby said trying to sound humble.

"What do mean it was incredible everyone at Beacon is going to think you are the Bees Knees." Yang said with excitement.

"I don't want to be the bees' knees, I don't want to be any knees, I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees," Ruby said huffing.

"What's with you aren't you excited," Yang asked in surprise.

"Of course, I'm excited I just, I got moved ahead two years, I don't want people to think I'm special. Besides I had help," Ruby said with a bit of sadness a Yang came over and placed an arm on her shoulder. "But you are special," Yang said comforting Ruby when both of them heard the Hologram on the wall. Showing a picture of Roman Torchwick.

"The Robbery was led by the nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick who continues to evade authorities if you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale police department. Back to you Lisa," the voice said.

"Thank you Cyril, in other news the mysterious shadow creature that has been flying around all of Remnant has been seen recently in Vale this past week, no one can still tell us if it's a Grimm or something else entirely." A picture was shown of Drogon's shadow was scene on the screen but not much of it making the passenger wondering what could it be. Ruby smiled because she was finally told what it was it was a Dragon. The Screen then showed Faunus protesting.

"In other news this Saturday's Faunus civil rights protest turned dark as members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony the once peaceful organization has now disrupted…."

Before it could continue the Screen changed to a Hologram of Glynda Goodwitch. "Hello and welcome to Beacon." It spoke.

"Who's that," Yang asked as she and Ruby looked at it. "My name is Glynda Goodwitch," it continued. "Oh," Yang said realizing. "You are among the privileged few to receive the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace and as future huntsmen and huntress it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and training to protect our world." Ruby was smiling as the hologram faded and she and others looked out the window to see Vale.

"Oh wow," Ruby said in excitement. "Look you can see Signal from up here," Yang joined Ruby and looking down at the city below.

"I guess home isn't to far now," Ruby said while Yang placed an arm on her shoulder.

"Beacon's our home now," she said when both of them heard a guy grown and looked over to see a boy in a black short-sleeved hoodie with detached reddish-orange sleeves.

Covering his hoodie is a white diamond-shaped chest plate cut off above his lower abdomen, and placed over his shoulders are a pair of white spaulders with rerebraces set under them. Below, he wears blue jeans with a white patch placed on the left knee and black sneakers which have "left" and "right" written in black on the respective shoes' soles. He has elbow guards with cords strung through them and he wears black high tops. He has two belts crisscrossing his waist, both different shades of brown, with a pair of small pouches on them. He wears brown wrist-length gloves with exposed fingertips and small metal plates over the back. His sword is strapped to his left hip in a sheath that doubles as a collapsible shield.

The boy makes grunting sounds and slowly limbs behind them and goes to a nearby trash bin to release himself.

"I guess the view isn't for everyone," Yang said and Ruby replied "It was a nice moment while it lasted."

"I wonder who were going to meet," Yang wondered.

"I just hope it's better than vomit boy." Ruby said.

"Hey where's that friend of yours who helped you? I would sure love to meet him, the way you described him he sounds cute." Yang asked with excitement and Ruby looked down in sadness. "I guess he decided not to come to Beacon after all," she said.

"Hey what's that," someone said and soon everyone was talking and pointing at something in the distance. Ruby and Yang looked out the window to see a dark silhouette becoming larger and larger until finally it burst through the clouds letting out a massive roar. It was Drogon. He soared through the air at tremendous speed even though he had grown more in the past four years as Draegon trained with him he was still fast. Speaking of Draegon he could be seen on Drogon's back and holding on to him with a smile of happiness. He was carrying a much larger backpack on him with all the supplies he might need and his personal treasures. Drogon flew past the Bullhead and Draegon looked over to see Ruby by a window with another girl he waved to them and they waved back before Drogon left the Bullhead behind and he headed towards Beacon. Back on the Bullhead everyone was still looking at Drogon and Draegon, soon they began talking to each other.

"That's a Dragon," one person said.

"Did you see how big it was," another said.

"That guy was riding it like it was nothing.

"Well, I guess you're not the only popular one anymore," Yang said as she continued to look a Drogon flying further ahead. "So that was Draegon huh," Ruby replied "Yep that's him and the Dragons name is Drogon," Yang smiled. "I like him already." Ruby smiled as well glad he was coming before looking down.

"Ow Yang gross you have puke on your shoes," Ruby said with disgust. "Gross, gross, Gross," Yang said as she moved around. "Get away from me, get away from me," ruby said franticly as the Bullhead continued towards the Beacon Academy castle.

Wow this was harder than it looks to write but thank you all who are following and now we are on the main story line. I have an important question for everyone please comment your answer would you like the Eggs to hatch at the end of Volume 1 or Volume 3 because I have thought of perfect scenarios for both I would like for you to decide. Also if there is a certain name you want me to give them because right now I'm leaning towards the Big three Targaryen Dragons. Let me know what you think of this chapter because I'm glad to be writing this story as an excuse to re watch the RWBY sieries and if you have any cool Ideas that you want me to add. I do not own RWBY or Game of Thrones they belong to their respective owners I just own my OCs. Stay tuned.
