It's been a month. What happened at her parents house was a perfect storm. Everyone was surprised and no one was happy in the end. They talked when she got back and then the talking stopped.. They didn't spend the new year together and that hurt both of them. At least there was finally some good news but Liv had no one to share it with, at least not the person she wanted to share it with. She's sitting with Abby.

"I can't believe the judge wanted to get some of the divorces off his docket so quick. I am sure Jake got his copy," Liv says.

"Why do you look like the saddest person on earth? You finally got your divorce. You should be happy."

"I am happy Abby but I feel like I can't tell Fitz about it or he won't even care," Liv says sadly.

"Well that's just stupid. Of course he cares. He just thought," Abby is trying to say calmly.

"He just thought I needed to get my head together and I suppose he was right. But I don't have to get my head straight about him. I know that I want him," Liv answers.

"Liv I am sure he's doing the same thing you are doing. He's beating himself up about this," Abby answers.

"I call him and we talk but we don't talk. I miss him," Liv admits.

"Then call him and tell him about the divorce. Tell him you miss him. And tell him that he has nothing to worry about," Abby advises.

"You make it sound so easy Abs."

"Because it is easy," Abby answers.

"I've never seen him that angry," Liv says. Liv takes a breath, "It was just one of those conversations that went from simple to complicated to painful all into one. "

"Like I said, call him," Abby says.

"Where are you going?" Liv asks.

"I am going so I can sleep. I have two surgeries tomorrow. So Red needs to be on the top of her game. You need to call the sexy man in your life so ya'll can get on that horse together," Abby says grabbing her purse to leave. "Just remember the last thing he told you."

Liv sits in the living room with a cup of coffee resting on her knee. She thinks back to that morning. The morning her lips couldn't move but her head was screaming for Fitz.

Flashback:

Liv is still in shock to see Fitz standing there. Fitz is shooting flaring daggers at Curtis. Liv sees the explosion before the match is even struck.

"Good Morning," Fitz repeats. He comes out of the door and closes it.

Liv looks at Fitz. She can see it in his eyes, "Good Morning," she returns. "What are you doing here?" She says again.

"Obviously I am here getting surprised," Fitz says as he slowly walks down the steps.

Curtis reaches out his hand, "We didn't get to talk the last time. You must be THE Fitzgerald. The unicorn I keep hearing about."

Fitz walks up to him, grabbing him by his collar, "Why are you still standing here?" Fitz asks.

"Fitz," Liv says, putting her hand on his arm.

"Hey Partner, calm down. It's all good," Curtis says.

"I am not going to hit you. I am just going to wait for you to walk away. Olivia and I need to talk and our talk does not include ex-boyfriends," Fitz says.

Curtis, now irritated by Fitz's command of the situation, looks over at Liv. "Do you want me to leave because if you don't want me to, I won't?" He says looking over at Fitz.

"Curtis, you need to leave. Thank you for bringing me home," Liv says.

Curtis decides to keep needling, "If you need me, you know where to find me."

Fitz stands in front of Liv to face Curtis. "She won't need you. That's why I'm here. Thanks for getting her back here safely."

"Bye," Curtis says.

"Bye," Liv answers, never coming back into his view.

Fitz turns around and looks at Liv, "Did you send him away because you wanted to let me down easy?"

"No, I sent him away because he needed to go and I'm so glad you are here. I am surprised you are here but I am glad."

"I was glad I was here too. I couldn't wait to see you," Fitz says.

"Fitz….." She doesn't know exactly what to say. "Can we go downstairs and talk? It's freezing."

"Okay," he says pouting.

They walk to the basement. Maya and Eli peep out of the kitchen. They both wonder how this is going to go.

They make it down to the basement. They are standing 6 feet apart looking at each other.

"I'm sorry if I am not acting the way I should. I know I shouldn't be jealous but I am," Fitz says.

"If you weren't jealous, that would hurt me more than anything. That would mean everything I feel about you is real."

"That's what I've been telling you Livvie. Everything about us is real. I know this situation is hard and your name and integrity means as much to me as it does to you. I just wanted to feel like we spent Christmas together. That's why I came."

"I wanted to spend Christmas with you too," Liv answers.

"Listen, I can't control who you sleep with but I thought.."

She stops him quickly, closing the space between them."Fitz I didn't sleep with Curtis. I know how all of that looked but it wasn't what you thought it was. I spent the night with him yes but so did Harrison and his fiance Quinn."

Fitz looks at her confused, "That doesn't sound comforting. That sounds like swingers convention." He laughs and it makes her laugh.

"Just to play cards and cards turned into truth or dare that involved drinking. It was stupid but it was just fun to just do something frivolus and stupid. I am not good drunk," Liv laughs.

"Oh….you are good when you are drunk. You are honest. I mean you talked to me about fucking and," Liv hurries and puts her finger on his lips.

"That was embarrassment, not honesty," Liv argues. "And my parents could be eavesdropping."

"I think it was honest. I get it Liv. I get you not wanting to feel lonely," Fitz explains. "I am so lonely without you too."

"What?" Liv says surprised. "But you have your kids through all of this. It's not that I don't have people to talk to, it's just…"

"It is just that the person you want is not there," Fitz finishes.

"No, even though I was with my family. It felt like you were missing and it's been great just having Curtis take my mind off of the fact that I miss you. I know it sounds twisted but," Liv is trying to explain.

"Do you still have feelings for him?" Fitz asks. "I mean you never forget your first love."

"I suppose I'll always have feelings but I'm not in love with him. He knows me. It's easy to be around him and talk to him."

"I want to be that person. Why don't you talk to me?" Fitz asks.

"We do talk but there are times I want to talk to you and we can't because you have commitments and I understand. I am not blaming you for that. I made this chinese wall that we can't go over and now I can't stand it and that makes me selfish."

"I am sorry I can't be there 24/7 but it will happen," Fitz says.

Liv sits on the couch, "After the attack, you coming to me that night, that was the night I knew. I knew everything believed and feared about you was true. You are the best and scariest thing to happen to me. And I was angry. I was mad that you had to go home to her and couldn't stay with me. Totally irrational, I know that."

He sits next to her, "If I could have stayed with you every night you know I would have."

"I know and the fact that I wanted you to with me and in the back of my mind there was always this little voice that no matter how we best laid our plans, I was more afraid of your divorce not happening than my own. I was afraid I'd let my guard down and want you and.."

"I told you it would happen. You have to trust me. Haven't I proven that to you?"

"My wish was for us to do the right thing. The devil on my shoulder says don't," she smiles.

"I am honoring that wish of yours because I care about you. I also agree with what you said. I don't trust Mellie and I don't want her to hurt you or your practice. I think you are right, we need to keep our distance until our divorces are final and have a fresh uncomplicated start."

"Fitz that's not what I am saying," Liv tries to explain.

"But that's what I am saying. I don't want to lose you because we can't really be together. And really it's unfair to both us to try to have a relationship until our relationships are done. I am not giving up on you. I just hope you aren't giving up on me," he finishes.

Liv knows exactly what he means. "Okay, so where does that leave us."

"That leaves us watching the clock on our divorces. When you come to me I'll know it's time," Fitz says.

"Fitz," she whispers.

He moves in, holding her face, he reaches down and kisses her gently. "I'll watch for you," he whispers. They let go and Fitz leaves just as quietly as he came.

Liv comes out of the memory. She takes a deep breath. She knows what she has to do before she screws up the best thing to happen to her.

A week later, Fitz is sitting in Antonio's office. He hands him the envelope. It's the news that Fitz has been waiting for. Antonio notices the excitement that is not there that should be there.

"I thought you'd be a little happier. You are officially a divorced man," Antonio says.

"Trust me, I am happy. I just…"

"Are you two still not talking," Antonio asks.

"Well we talk occasionally to check on each other and talk a little but I haven't seen her since Christmas," Fitz says.

"I'm sorry man but you should be running to that woman and dragging her somewhere and do something," Antonio says. "You have to tell her that you are divorced."

"Yeah but what if she's not," Fitz asks.

"You have been the single most uncomfortable man to be around right now. Do it for me. Go and find her. I hate taking money from you right now because you are sad. Don't make me have a heart. I have a strict rule against that. I'm a lawyer. I am supposed to be cold," Antonio points out.

"I am going to the house and talk to the kids. We need to tell them that we are officially divorced. They need full transparency I think."

"That's a good idea. Good luck with it!," Antonio says.

"Thanks for all your help with this. I will forever owe you one," Fitz says as he shakes his hand and leaves.

Liv brought the condo. She's been slowly moving things in. She's bought new furniture. She wanted everything to be a new start. She even got into CraigsList and other sites and sold her old furniture. She's almost completely out of the house. The movers will move the rest on the weekend.

"Harrison what do you want?" Liv says with her airpods in her ear.

"I want to check on my sister," Harrison says.

"How is the wedding planning going? Do we have a date yet?" Liv distracts.

"We are not talking about me. We are talking about you," Harrison argues.

"Harrison, I am almost completely moved into my place. I am putting up pictures and stuff. So, now that you know I am fine. How are the wedding plans going?"

"Sis, I am sorry," Harrison says.

"Sorry for what?" Liv asks.

"I just wanted you to have some fun with friends. I knew you were sad about your guy. I just wanted you to shake it off a little bit. Look at how I blew shit up." Harrison explains.

"I know what you were trying to do. It was my decision to go, knowing Curtis wanted another chance. I bought this on myself but it wasn't a bad thing. I needed to put some things in order and I am doing that. Fitz and I will find our way. We will. At least I hope we do. If we don't, I can't blame anyone but myself," Liv says.

"I'll go find him and drag you two together," Harrison offers.

"No! Let's chill!" she says.

"I want to fix this, Trixie." Harrison pleads.

"I am the fixer. I have to fix my hiccup and fix my life the way I want it. That's my job, not yours."

'If he doesn't forgive you and you two don't get back together. I am coming there and knocking him in the head," Harrison says.

"The answer is not violence. I'll figure it all out, okay!"

"Okay," Harrison says. "I gotta go and no we haven't set a date yet."

"Thank you," Liv says.

"I love you."

"I love you too Harry," Liv laughs as he hangs up.

She's sitting on the floor arranging her blu-rays on the shelf. She picks up Love Story, the anniversary edition that Fitz got her. She holds it close to her and says, Love means never having to say you're sorry.

Fitz and Mellie are sitting on the couch with Gerry and Karen. It's time to have that difficult conversation. It's time to tell them what their life will look like going forward. Mellie and Fitz have gone over the script a hundred times but it won't matter. The kids are going to react and they have to be ready for either way.

"Is this about your divorce?" Gerry says.

Mellie and Fitz look at each other, "Yes," Mellie answers.

"What's a divorce?" Karen asks.

Fitz takes Karen and sits her on his lap, "A divorce is when mommy and daddy," he looks up at Mellie and then back at Karen, "They realize that they are better apart than together. So...they get a divorce."

Mellie decides to help, "You know when you and Susie Phelps stop being friends because she stole your doll. That's like getting a divorce."

"But we don't talk anymore. Are you and daddy not going to talk anymore?" Karen asks.

"No! We are always going to talk because we have you and your brother. We love you both very much," Fitz explains.

"Who are we gonna live with?" Gerry asks.

"You are going to live with Mom during the weekdays and me on the weekends," Fitz explains.

"Cool," Gerry says.

"And you can fix your rooms in my house however you want it," Fitz explains.

"Do you two understand?" Mellie asks.

They both shrug in agreement. Fitz looks at them. "Do you have any questions for us?"

"Would you stay tonight daddy?" Karen asks.

"Yes I am going to stay tonight peanut," Fitz says as she hugs him.

Mellie and Fitz spend the night with their kids and spend their last night together as a true family unit. It's a bittersweet night but it is an end and a new beginning for all of them.

Liv is in her new office. It's been a week since she officially moved out of her and Jake's house. It sold and she and Jake are actually going to make a profit. She's officially a resident of Vista Condominiums. There are so many new changes in her life and yet there is one thing that hasn't changed, her and Fitz. She can't help but look around and think of Fitz. Fitz made it all possible for her. She is letting her clients out when she sees April trying to get her attention. The Robinson's are making their next appointment.

April gets a call from the front desk. "Dr. Pope's office," she answers.

"We have Mellie Grant here wanting to see Dr. Pope. She's not on the list." the security guard announces.

April's eye stretch, "You can send her up," she answers. Liv is back at her desk writing some notes. April comes to her door, "Knock Knock," she says.

"What's up?" Liv says.

"Mellie Grant is coming up as we speak," she says.

Liv gets up from her desk, "What?"

"I don't know but they asked for permission to send her up. I said yes," April answers.

Liv looks away, "Well, I better be ready." Liv straightens her clothes and waits at her door seal. Mellie walks in. "Mellie," she says.

"I know this is a bit of a surprise but I had to be at a nearby office for a meeting and I thought I'd see you. If that's okay."

"Come in," Liv says. Mellie goes into the room. Liv looks at April and takes a deep breath. She closes the door and sits down. "What brings you here?"

"I wanted to ask you a question," Mellie says.

"You could have called," Liv answers.

"Fitz and I are officially divorced," Mellie says.

Liv tries not to react but it's the news she wanted but hearing it from his wife does sting a little. "I didn't know," Liv answers. She answers in truth.

"How could you?" Mellie says.

"Well, you all took a step that many do," Liv answers.

"I heard that you and your husband are divorcing," Mellie continues.

"Yeah we did and we are divorced as well."

"I'm sorry," Mellie says.

Liv thinks this visit is bizarre to say the least. "You say you had a question."

"Fitz and I are no longer your puzzle to solve. Our marriage is over. Can you be honest with me?" Mellie asks.

"Honest about what?"

"Do you think...Did you get the feeling that Fitz was cheating on me? He found someone else and he wanted me out."

"Mellie I am not at liberty to say," Liv answers as the conversation has gone from bizarre to uncomfortable.

"You won't hurt my feelings. I certainly can't judge. I put the nail in the coffin that ended my marriage but I feel like he wanted to move on because he had something to move on to," Mellie explains.

Liv thinks long and hard about her answer, "I think there are many reasons that marriages end but at the end of it there's a hard truth. And that truth is, there was a crack in the foundation from the beginning," she answers.

Mellie looks at her sadly, "I suppose that's true." She gets up. She extends her hand, "Thank you for talking to me."

"No problem!" Liv says.

"I hope we cross paths again," Mellie says.

Liv doesn't answer. She knows that is a great possibility and she knows Mellie won't like it. She just nods her head in agreement. She watches as Mellie leaves. She goes back to her desk and lays her head back.

Fitz is lying in bed at his parents house. That's where he's been staying since New Years. He stuck to his plan, moving out after the New Year. He's been slowing ordering furniture for the Penthouse. He wants to tell Liv she will be seeing him soon because he's moving in. He knows she's all moved in. Liv knew he was living with his parents for now. He decides to call.

It rings which worries him she won't pick up. Finally, she picks up, "Hi," she says. She is so happy to hear his voice.

"Hi," he answers.

"How are you?" Liv asks.

"The same I was last time we talked. I miss you," he answers. "How about you?"

"The same except the last time we talked I wasn't visited by your wife," she answers.

"Mellie visited you. Why?" He asks.

"She told me the divorce is final," Liv says.

"Yeah it is. I almost can't believe it's real but it's finally over," he answers.

"Mine is too," she says softly.

"Really," he says.

"I couldn't wait to tell you. I didn't know how to tell you and I just...I know I've said it many times before but I am sorry," she says.

"Liv you don't have to be sorry," Fitz says.

"Just let me explain. I am sorry. The attack, I was all over the place. I never said it but that was the first time I ever felt real fear and I suppose when Curtis showed up at my door it was a welcomed safety net. I didn't want sex from him. Just a safe place to be for a little while. I just wanted you. I want you," Liv explains.

"I want you too and now you have me. No husbands and no wives. It's just you and me," Fitz says.

"Where do we go from here?"

"We go to each other and no one else," Fitz says.

"I like the sound of that," she responds smiling.

"What did my wife want?" Fitz asks.

"What?" Liv says. She's still wrapped in Fitz's last words.

"What did Mellie want when she came to see you?"

"She wanted to know if I felt that you were cheating on her or met someone when we were in our sessions," Liv replies.

Fitz is surprised, "And what did you tell her?"

"I told her that most of the time we ignore the truth that is staring at us or was there from the start. We know when who we are with is wrong but for some reason we are going to fix it. We know we can't fix it but we are determined to try meanwhile the floor is falling underneath us."

"Did she accept that answer?" Fitz asks.

"I think she did. She knows that she had a part in your marriage falling apart. You can't blame a third party for a two way street," she answers.

"That is sound advice Ms. Pope."

"I think so too, Mr. Grant." They are both smiling into the phone. "I was a little disappointed you know," she says.

"About what?"

"I saw movers bringing furniture up to the penthouse. I really wanted it to be you moving in there. Did you find a place?"

"I sure did," Fitz says.

"So, I guess I will get to see it one day," Liv says.

"One day soon," Fitz agrees.

"What are you doing now?" She asks as she settles on her bed.

"I am eating ice cream and wishing you I could see you," Fitz says.

"Well you could and I love ice cream," Liv laughs.

"Maybe on our first date," Fitz says.

"We never talked about a date. Are we going on a date?" She asks.

"Yes we are. I just need you to be ready for it,"Fitz announces.

Liv laughs, "How will I know when to be ready?"

"Trust me! You will know," He teases.

"Come on Fitz! You have to give me more than that," she begs.

"I'll give you one hint! Our first date won't be normal. Expect the unexpected."

"You are just going to leave me like that," she asks.

"Sweet dreams angel," he says as he hangs up the phone.

She lays back on her back on the bed. She wants to call him back. She wants to invite him over. But she will wait. She will let her curiosity get the best of her.

For the last couple of days, they've talked and reconnected. He's hinted at their date which consisted of arguments about who was better at different games. She finally asked if they were going to participate in a contact sport but he promised her that was it but she didn't trust him. She's getting ready for work when he calls her.

"Hey!," he says when she answers.

"This is early for you," she says as she looks into her mirror, putting on her hills.

"I think I caught you at the perfect time," Fitz says.

"Maybe! I am getting dressed and concerned this outfit is not the one," she laughs.

He licks his lip, "Is it a skirt or slacks?" He asks.

"It's a skirt. Why?"

"That hugs your hips perfectly and gives you just enough room to walk and sway your hips and give a man bad thoughts," he says.

"Why in the world are you calling me this morning?"

"Well I was going to tell you to prepare for our date tonight. I'm trying to decide if I want you to wear that skirt," He teases.

"Our date is tonight. Are you suggesting it or are you telling me it is?"

"I am telling you! I will be picking you up for 7pm so be ready," he says.

"You expect me to work today now," she asks.

"Try to! See you tonight!" He hangs up.

Liv tries to work all day. She called Abby and Sonja to tell them that they have their first official date. They are at the condo to help her get dressed. They can tell she is nervous and more nervous.

"What in the hell are you so nervous about Liv? The man has kissed you, more than once. You have slept together, well I mean actually slept in each other's arms more than once. He's met your parents and they like him. Why are you nervous?"

"I still can't get over actually sleeping," Sonja laughs. "But Abs is right. Why are you nervous?"

"Because we've spent all the necessary time learning about each other. And we finally made it here. We finally made it to this moment. I thought we'd never get here and now that we have. I'm a freaking basket case," she in the mirror.

"I think it is wonderful that you all are going to have a real date before anything else. It's romantic and it's sweet and it says a lot about him that he wants that," Abby says.

"Yeah it does. It means he respects you and he wants to treat you like a lady," Sonja concurs.

"I was afraid I really screwed up," Liv says emotionally.

"Well you didn't. So go tonight and enjoy tonight," Abby says.

"How do I look?" Liv asks as she turns around for them.

"Sensual," Sonja answers.

"Edible," Abby says.

"Oh my God! Can you not think sex?" Liv says.

"I wasn't, you look very sensual. That's not a bad thing," Sonja answers.

"Fine, if you want a better word I'll say you look elegant," Abby recovers.

Liv checks her purse again, "Okay, then everything is okay."

"Everything is fine! Calm down," Sonja laughs.

There is a ring at Liv's door. "I wonder who that can be. They should be calling me to let him up," Liv says confused.

"I'll go! You pat your makeup for the 1,000th time," she says to Live as she leaves. Liv quickly looks at her makeup to see if she needs to do it again.

Abby gets to the door, pressing the com on the wall to see it is Fitz. She opens the door, "How did you get up here?"

"I have my ways!" He says. "Is she ready?"

"She is," Abby smiles. "Liv, it's for you!"

The sound of Liv's heels are clicking and the sound gets closer. Fitz can't wait to see her. He hasn't seen her in so long that he's anxious. She is talking as she gets closer, "Who is it?" She asks.

"Your date," Fitz says as she comes into view, surprised to see him.

"How did you get up here?" She asks. He is struck by her.

"You look beautiful," he says. He then notices the woman he's never met before behind her.

"Thank you," she answers. Their eyes never leave each other. She can see the question on his face, "This is Sonja!"

"Hello Sonja," Fitz says.

"Hell yes Hello," she answers as she sizes him up.

Fitz walks closer to her. He passes her one single long stem rose. It's the perfect gesture. She takes it. "Thank you," she says. She looks down at the little note attached. It simply says, I had a wonderful time tonight. I can't wait for the next.

She looks up at him, "I can't wait either!" It brings them both a smile. Abby and Sonja are watching a romantic movie unfold before their very eyes.

"We should go. We have reservations," he says as he holds out his forearm for her to wrap her arm around him. She does it with ease.

"You didn't tell me where we were going," she says.

"Nope! I sure didn't," he says as they walk out. She looks at him shaking her head. God this man is gorgeous and sweet. Where did he come from?

They leave and the door closes and they can both hear the giggling and squeal that comes from Abby and Sonja which makes them laugh.

Fitz has them a car ordered. They make it downstairs. The security guard says, "Have a wonderful time tonight Mr. Grant," he nods his head, "Ms. Pope," he finishes.

"How does he know who you are?" Liv asks.

"I'm that guy! You know, the one that leaves a lasting impression on people." That's his safe answer for now.

"Well that is the truth," she smiles as he reaches down and kisses her cheek.

"Our carriage awaits," he says as he leads her to the town car. They drive only a few minutes. The car stops. Fitz looks out. "We are here."

She looks out to see they have pulled out in front of the Darling. She's always wanted to go here. "Perfect," she says.

"Is it?" He asks.

"Yes I have always wanted to try it and play their humongous Scrabble game that they have. We will have to do that next time," she announces.

"We are doing that tonight. I said expect the unexpected and you told me one night that no one could beat you at Scrabble. Put up or shut up tonight," he laughs.

"You are on," she laughs as they get out and he leads her inside.

The Darling is dark but the perfect mood for romance and cocktails and being with the right person. It's the perfect ambiance for a date, games, laughter, and connection. They are escorted to their seats. Fitz pulls out her chair for her. As she goes to sit down he kisses her collarbone.

"Thank you," she says raspily.

"I've been waiting to do that again since that night in the hotel," he answers. That makes her blush.

She looks up to see the humongous Scrabble board on the wall. "I can't wait," she says.

"You want to start. We can order some drinks and appetizers and I can whip your butt," he says.

"You talk good smack. Let's do it," she answers as they start the games. Fitz orders their best bottle of red wine and big bowl of popcorn. The perfect appetizer.

"You want the first word," he says.

"Yes," she says as they maneuver how to shuffle these much bigger letters than they are used to. They get started. She looks at her letters, trying to figure out her first word. She is able to figure one out. She goes to the board and makes it.

He looks at the word, "Happy! Okay that's a good word. But before we get too deep into this game there will be no Olivia made up words."

"Happy is a word," she laughs.

"That is but you know what I mean," he answers. He looks at her as she gets her other letters. "Are you happy?" he asks.

"What do you mean?"

"Are you happy?" He asks again.

"Finally," she answers and that's all he needs to hear.

He uses her letter A to make, Start. He places it on the tile. "Damn, not enough points."

"You are only a point under," she says.

"The object of this game is to beat you. I must play smart."

"Don't slip, that's when I am on my best," she says ready to put her next word up. She stops and looks at him. "Start…"

"Yeah! I think we are off to the perfect start," he says.

"Me too," she smiles.

They end up playing two games, laughing and drinking the wine. They order small plates of food and share. They take a break to eat.

"I know this wasn't what you were expecting but I hope you enjoyed it," Fitz says.

"I love it. It was the perfect first date," she says as she touches his hand. He brings her hand to his lips and kisses it.

"We've spent so many nights on the phone talking about our lives, our feelings, our regrets and our hopes thatI just wanted it to be something that was no pressure, just something for me and you."

"I expect many more scrabble date nights. I mean you are pretty crappy at it," she teases.

"I am not, that triple word really screwed me. I mean you made the word, Flunkie."

She laughs, "You kind of are." She smiles, studying him. "Is it weird? Does it feel weird finally being divorced?" She asks.

"Yes! Does it feel weird for you?"

"Definitely. I wanted to run and tell you. The moment I got the papers but I also didn't want to be disappointed."

"That's why I didn't tell you as soon as it happened. I didn't want to be disappointed. More waiting…"

"Life is funny! It gives you heartache. It gives you sadness. It gives you accomplishments and failures. My marriage was a failure but I'm so relieved that I left it still believing that the right person was out there and had found me or would find me."

"We both come from parents with great marriages yet we couldn't get it right the first time around."

"Actually, I'll tell you a secret. History repeated itself. My father stole my mother from his best friend. Harrison and I never knew that. He said he was willing to lose his best friend because he knew my mother was the one," she reveals.

"You didn't steal me from Mellie. I walked away," he says.

"Yeah but I just mean look at how my parents started."

"That was how their stars would cross. With the help of your dad's best friend," he says.

"I guess so! I guess your marriage falling apart brought you to my couch," she says.

"I think so. We aren't going to be our parents, as great as they are.. We aren't going to be our failures. We are going to be Fitz and Olivia. We are going to write our own love story and we are going to do it right. You trust me," he asks.

"I do and I hope you trust me," she says.

"I do," he says as he reaches over and kisses her.

"Tonight really was wonderful! I hate to see it end," she says.

"It doesn't have to end. We can take it back to my place. Hang out and when you are ready to go home. You can go home."

"Let's go," she says. He gets up, paying the pill. They leave as the car takes them back to Liv's condominium. He is waiting for her to put it together. "I thought we were going back to your place."

"We are," he says.

"Fitz, this is my place," she playfully argues.

"And my place is like 8 more floors above you," he says.

It doesn't register at first. He is looking out of the window shaking his head playfully. She grabs his arm, "The Penthouse," she says.

"Go big or go home," he says.

"How did you hide that from me?"

"I have my ways. I have many secrets," he says kissing her hand.

She shakes her head. She's piecing it all together. "That's how you were able to come straight to my door."

"Bingo," he says. "By the way, I got a good amount of points using that word tonight."

"But it wasn't enough to beat me. Almost doesn't count." She loves to pour salt in his sore losing heart.

They get out and go up to the Penthouse. He opens the doors and she is amazed by what she sees.

"Oh my god, everything is done. How did you do this?"

"My secretary is the best thing I ever did.," he says.

She rolls her eyes looking at him, "Best thing you ever did," she repeats.

"I mean the best decision I ever made to hire. She made sure every delivery got here and everything was in its place," he answers.

"I love it," Liv says as Fitz helps her out of her light coat.

"I am going to try this fireplace out," he says. She walks further into the space. Much like her condo but on a bigger scale she can see the nightlife and all of Lake Michigan.

"If nothing else, the view of Lake Michigan is worth it," she says. He has the fire lit. He's gotten another bottle of wine and two glasses. They sit on the large plush rug and stare at each other.

"What are you thinking?" He asks.

"You don't want to know what I am thinking," she says as she takes a sip of the wine.

"Yes I do. I could always tell when we said something in our session that would take you by surprise. Your pupils seem to change colors. I don't know if it's the fireplace or what but I can tell you are thinking a lot."

"Just thinking about you and tonight and the fact that We don't have to worry about anything."

"No we don't, finally!"

"What are we going to do about Mellie and Jake when they find out? I'm not worried about Jake. He's so sure you wanted me. But he didn't think I wanted you because you were my patient. His words, not mine," she explains.

"Damn, he was wrong!"

"I don't want to be that girl that sleeps with the guy on their first date but…"

He moves closer to her. He takes her glass and puts it on the table. "We've technically had our first date. That night in DC. It was a date."

"I just wanted us to officially have this moment. We are going to have many dates and they'll probably end up the way this one will end up," he says as he moves in and begins to kiss her.

"Wait!" She says as she puts her hands up to his chest. "We have to figure out about Mellie. She's going to hate me and I don't want that to somehow cause problems with you and your kids. I don't want that."

"You and I live 8 floors away from each other. She couldn't stop this even if she wanted to. My kids will be with me on the weekends and we will just play it safe. But we are not going to ruin our first date talking about Mellie," he says as he kisses her again.

"This could be it," she says.

"I certainly hope so," he answers.

"Do you have any?" She says slowly as she kisses him again.

"Yes," he says. He gets up.

"Where are you going?" She asks.

"I am going to get them. They are in my room. There's been no reason to carry them around," he jokes.

She places her shoes to the side. She sniffs under her arms to make sure it's fresh. She thinks about it. Just to be safe. She runs to the bathroom she saw. She freshens up. She's waited for this moment for so long. She wants it to be perfect. He comes back into the room to find her gone. He doesn't see her shoes on the side but he doesn't see her purse. He immediately thinks she's left him.

"Shit," he says. He's unsure if he should go after he hears the latch of the door. He lets out a breath..

She can see the blank look on his face, "What's wrong?"

"I thought you left," he says.

"No way," she answers.

He turns off the other lights. The only lights illuminating are the ones from outside and the fire in the fireplace. "You want me to pull the curtains," he asks.

"No," she answers quickly. "I want this more than you but we don't have to do it. If you have a 3rd, 4th, or 5th date rule, I respect it."

"I have a, I can't wait any longer,rule," she laughs.

He laughs. He brings her back over to the fireplace and eases her back down to the carpet. They just look at each other. They caress each other's skin. She unbuttons his shirt. She's wanted to do that for so long. Truth be told she's wanted to rip it off but she wants to revel in the introduction of his pecks. The flex of his muscles and the warmth of him. It's as if his chest and six pack was made by the adonis gods.

He looks at her, "How long has it been?"

"Too long," is her answer as he lays her down gently.

"Are there any no's?"

She's enveloped in his scent hovering above her. His eyes staring into hers. He's slowly moving his hands up and down her thigh as he asks all the right questions. It just makes her want him more. "There are no limits," she answers.

Before she knows it, his hand is traveling up her thigh and finds her underwear. He slowly starts pulling them down. She moves from side to side to help him pull them off. He kisses her neck and jawline ever so softly as he removes her thong.

"I've waited forever to make love to you," he says.

"Don't wait anymore," she answers as she grabs his face, kissing him hard and hungrily.

They engage in this tongue marathon so long they don't know how to stop. They don't know how to break away. It's just moaning. He eases his fingers inside of her and she has the surprised reaction. She imagined his strong fingers inside her so many times, bringing her to heaven but she didn't expect him to use his fingers so perfectly. He's working her pumping inside and out of her he tweaks her clit which she's never felt that sensation before. She feels like she's being milked of her essence and she's loving every minute. Her sweet nectar is coating his hand which entices his need to pleasure her this way.

She's lifting up and down off the floor. It's so good. It's so wet. She whispers, "Fitz," which he loves the sound of her in passion, in heat. It's what he dreamed it would be. He stops. He brings his hand to his mouth, taking his index finger sucking off her juice. Never before has she seen that. He unzips her dress, bringing it down. He's pleased to find she didn't wear a bra. Her nipples are hard and aroused and waiting for his lips. She's now naked in front of him. All of her.

"I'm ready," she whispers.

He lays her back down. He gets up, dropping his pants. The sight of her body waiting for him for the first time is a sight he will never forget. She's glistening all over for him. He can't wait to be inside of her. She's imagined what he looked like naked but the reality is so much better than what her imagination conjured for her. He's long and thick and watching him stand there hard and just waiting to take her, her body shivers with anticipation.

He puts on the condom. She can't help but make the joke, "Is that going to be enough?"

He can't help but blush, "I don't even know what to say."

"But you know what to do?" She says.

"Damn straight," he says as he gets on his knees. He opens her legs wider. He eases on top of her. He starts at her neck and moves down the center of her breast licking her. He licks the circumference of her nipple lightly. She loves it and then he begins so suck her nipples like a hungry man. She was overloaded with emotions. The way he works his tongue around her nipples is nothing short of perfect. She's raking his hair feverishly as he sucks her nipples back and forth and works her clit again with his fingers. She can't help it. She wants to scream but she knows it will sound like she's close to death. She bites down gently on the skin of his shoulder. She's digging into his skin for release.

She can feel him line himself up. He eases inside of her slowly. "God," she sighs.

He's stretching her as he goes further in. "Tell me when to stop," he says.

"Don't," she answers.

He goes in a little deeper. He starts to thrust inside of her. She's so wet. He's never had it like this before and never has she. He starts to thrust harder inside of her. It's deep and it's good. He swiveled his hips as he thrust up and down slowly , learning what she likes. Learning what makes her bite her lip. He's seen it twice already. She grabs his ass, squeezing him pushing him in more.

"Ohhhh, yesss…..," she utters as he kisses her.

He's moving so slow. She's never had a man make love to her this way. He's hitting her G spot and he knows when she shakes. Her walls are swelling around his swollen member that's now jamming into her faster. She loves it this way too.

"Harder," she says. "Harder," she repeats again. Their skin is flapping. Their skin looks like it's glittered with mist.

He can stay inside her forever as he moans. She moans. She's close and he knows it. She flips him over. She lifts off of him. She moves her hips up and down on his hard perfection that' she moves on him, up and down. She's riding him hard but slow. He massages her ass as she rides him. They are both close and they know it. He reaches up, she's still wrapped around him. He takes her nipple in his mouth as she continues to move up and down him.

"That's it baby," he says as he keeps riding up and down.

Her chest is pressed to him like glue as his fingers are playing a tune to her back. She grabs a greater hold to his neck as she moves in and out one hard last fast time and they both come. She screams as he grunts. Their body is a pretzel and they hold each other right are breathing heavy. The intensity is stronger than they both thought.

They are both collapsed in each other's arms. She's resting her forehead on his shoulder. He's resting his on hers as they rock from side to side.

She's breathing heavy, "Is there a scrabble word for this?" She says looking up to face him.

He starts to laugh, "Yes! Hot," he answers.

He brings her down on her back. "Let's do it again," he says.

They start to kiss. This night is just getting started.

This is definitely not the end of this night..
