The plane is landing on the strip and Liv is just staring at Fitz in wonder. He told her to take her passport, just in case. She happily obliged but she had no idea where he was taking her. She told him one time that she always wanted to go Niagara Falls but it never happened and for some odd reason she thought it was a romantic setting. She loved the idea of the backdrop of the water. She's a self-proclaimed mermaid so it seems too perfect. He made a mental note to take her one day. He figured for this occasion it was going to be the perfect place.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Fitz asks. He thinks he knows what she's going to say before she even says it, I can't believe you remembered.
"I can't believe you remembered what I told you that night," she says almost teary without even realizing.
He traces her jawline, brings her lips to his, "I remember every single thing you've ever told ."
"Is that so?" Liv says sexily.
"Yes that is so. You said you didn't know why you found this place to be so magical and romantic but the mermaid in you wished you could swim with the falls," Fitz answers.
"Fitz," she utters as he plants a soft kiss on her.
"I couldn't work out you swimming with the falls but I am getting you as close to it as I can."
"Why are you so perfect sometimes?" she asks.
"I wish I were but if doing things like this will make you look at me the way you are looking at me right now, I'll never stop trying to be perfect," Fitz answers as he kisses her again.
"So what's on the agenda Mr. Grant?" Liv asks.
"Everything is on the agenda," He smirks.
"Like…..," she tries to coak out of him.
"It's all a surprise. But I can tell you we are having a wonderful lunch in a place you will love and then for dinner tonight..it will be romantic and hot," He starts with a devilish smile.
"Define hot," Liv says.
"Well, I was thinking something along a rolling fire and we just sit and stare into its flames in each other's arms," he jokes.
She slaps his chest, "You are terrible."
"Well I have to keep you warm," he chuckles.
"There are many other ways you can do that instead of lighting a fire," she suggests kissing his chest. She loves when he wears a dress shirt with no tie and she can play with those chest hairs that peak out.
"Are you suggesting we do something inappropriate?" Fitz says faking shock.
There is a clearing of the throat heard, "We can deplane ."
"Thank you! Is the car ready?" Fitz asks.
The attendant answers, "Yes sir. Your bags have already been retrieved and transferred to the car."
"Thanks so much Andy," Fitz answers as he gets up. He reaches out his hand to Olivia. "Let's get this weekend started," he says.
"I am so ready," she winks as she gets up and he leads her out.
"I hope so," Fitz says under his breath as he walks behind her, admiring her ass as he usually does.
"Stop looking at my ass," Liv says without turning around.
"I wasn't…," he starts.
She turns to him, "You always do."
"I like what I see," he winks.
"Look but don't touch," she says going down the stairs.
"I can't make any promises," he answers.
They get to the car, "When we get to the room you can touch as much as you want."
He reaches down and kisses her cheek, "I'm going to do a lot more than touch it."
There is a shiver that goes down her spine. He can visually see the shake that he's erupted in her. "I take back what I said."
"No you can't," he says tickling her side. She starts to laugh as they get in the car and drive away. He can't wait to show her their room. The Marriott Fallsview Hotel is going to be their "home" for the next couple of nights. It's a loft room that overlooks the falls with the most amazing view. He knows she's gonna love it. He knows she's gonna be wowed by it. But it will pail in comparison to how she wow's him.
Mellie is sitting in her kitchen waiting for her mother to come. She's been working from home the last two weeks, trying to get back in the swing of things. The firm was very accommodating under the circumstances. She was in the middle of some pretty heavy duty cases at the time of the accident. Her parents had been on a two week cruise. She's been anxiously awaiting their return. She wanted the chance to tell them what was going on before they heard it some other way. Her mother comes into her office after being let in by Janice.
"Mother," Mellie says as she comes in.
"What in the world is on fire? Your message was that I needed to get here as soon as possible. What's on fire?"
"Mother, I need to talk to you about something and I don't know how you are going to react or what you are going to think about it…..about me but I need to tell you," Mellie says taking a breath.
"Melanie, there is nothing you could tell me that would change the fact that you are an amazing woman, lawyer, and mother. We couldn't be more proud of you," her mom answers.
Mellie drops her head, "Maybe you should wait to hear what I have to say. The subject matter is why I didn't want daddy to be hereI wanted to talk to you about it first, woman to woman."
Her mother can tell that something is really wrong. She is now starting to get an uneasy feeling about it. She knows Mellie. She knows when something is seriously wrong and she can tell that something is seriously wrong now. "Melanie Margaret Grant, what have you done?"
"Mother, can you not look at me with judgement before I even tell my side of the story?"
"Depends on what you are about to tell me. I love you unconditionally but I know what you are in fight mode. You do things you shouldn't do," her mother explains.
"Where are the kids?" Mellie asks. "Did you see them when you came in?"
"Gerry was playing a game and Karen was playing with one of the thousands of dolls she has," she answers.
"Mother you helped buy those dolls," Mellie reminds her.
"Why do you need to know where the kids are?" her mother cuts to the chase.
"Gerry has been acting strange and it's just because of the accident. I don't know what it is," Mellie answers. Under her breath she says, "If only he knew…"
"If only he knew what?"
"Mother sit down," Mellie implores.
"I'll sit when I'm ready to sit."
"I did something stupid. I did something that I can't fix," Mellie starts.
"What did you do?"
"I cheated on Fitz," Mellie says.
"You and Fitz aren't married anymore. You can't cheat on him. And let's remember, he cheated on you."
"No mom, I cheated on Fitz first," Mellie admits.
"Mellie if you are trying to be funny, it's not working."
Mellie gets up slowly, walking over to her mother, asking her to sit. They sit on the couch. "We had a party one night at the firm. Fitz couldn't come, he just about made the big deal. I went by myself and Richard and I had too much to drink."
Her mother interrupts her, "The same Richard you are sleeping with now."
Mellie lets out air, "One thing led to another and we were together in his office."
"You slept with your boss at work. You opened your legs for a man who wasn't your husband. Mellie you've done nothing but blame Fitz for your marriage falling apart when you were doing what you were doing or did."
Mellie closes her eyes, feeling the shame that is in her mother's eyes. "I barely remembered the night."
Her mother can tell there is a big piece to this puzzle missing. "Why does this matter now Mellie? You and Fitz aren't trying to get back together. What does it matter? What are you leaving out?"
"I got pregnant," Mellie says. "That's what's the matter."
"You got pregnant. The baby that you miscarried," her mother tries to understand.
"No," Mellie says not wanting to admit the truth
Her mother finally catches on, "Mellie…..are you telling me?"
"Gerry is not Fitz's son," she admits. Her mother stares at her for the longest time. "Would you say something, instead of that glare?"
"And Fitz has known all this time?" her mother asks.
"No, he just found out. I can't explain it all. He just found out," she repeats.
"You lied to your husband all these years Mellie. You lied to your son all these years."
"No, I didn't lie to either of them. I didn't know. I didn't know he wasn't his son," Mellie explains.
"But you knew it was a possibility, didn't you?"
"I knew it but I didn't want to believe it and I didn't want to find out," Mellie admits.
"So, in theory you lied. You lied to your son and your husband and the truth is so much more painful. How could you do that?"
"Doesn't it count that he cheated on me with whore?" Mellie asks venomously.
"No, it doesn't because you committed the worst of the sins Mellie. You cheated on your husband and got pregnant by another man and kept that from them. What do you think will happen when Gerry finds out? What do you think this will do to your family? Most of all, his son. Gerry bares Fitz's name and you let that happen knowing that might not be true. I raised you to be a respectable woman. I didn't raise you to be a cold-hearted bitch," her mother says shaking Mellie to the core.
"Mother," Mellie says.
"These are just facts. You want to harp on Fitz's sins or the lack thereof. Look in the mirror Melanie. It's time to face the music," her mother finishes.
"Gerry can't know mother. He can never know," Mellie pleads.
"He deserves to know but I won't be the one to tell him. I won't hurt my grandson that way. But you need a better plan than blaming everyone else for your sins," her mother says sternly as she gets up and goes toward the door.
"Mother, I never meant for anything of this to happen. I didn't," Mellie says.
Her mother turns, "I believe you but everything else were choices you made that Fitz and Gerry will suffer for."
"What am I going to do?" Mellie asks.
"Be a woman," her mother answers as she turns and leaves.
They never made it to their lunch appointment. They tore each other's clothes off the moment they got to their loft hotel. The room couldn't be more beautiful than it was. The panoramic view of the Falls was beyond amazing. It was like an apartment in a hotel. They ended up making love and having lunch staring at the Falls. They are having dinner in the most unlikely place tonight. Tonight Fitz wanted them to play the casinos. The wonderful thing about their hotel is that it is close to everything Falls related. They are having dinner at the Casino Niagara restaurant enjoying the atmosphere and alone time.
"I have never been good at the craps, blackjack, any of that," Liv says with a laugh.
"I beg to differ Ms. Pope. You can have quite the poker face when you want to. I think you will do quite well," he smiles.
"You have more faith in my gambling abilities than I do," she smiles.
"Well I am going to enjoy watching you in this dress and watching that beautiful little mind of yours working."
She tugs on his collar as she reaches in to smell his scent. That freshly showered scent she loves, "You just want to wear me out mentally so you can have your way with me later."
"I plan to wear you out but not play the tables," he winks.
"You are insatiable," she giggles.
"You make me that way. I can't get enough of both pairs of your lips," with a mischievous grins.
Her body is immediately hot all over. Her clit starts to pulsate. He knows that his words have gotten to her. She squirms nervously in her chair, "We are in public."
"And," he asks.
"I didn't say I was going to taste you right here. Although that would be quite the show," he chuckles.
"You just like to hear me scream," she says.
"You got me there," he says, crossing his legs sitting back in his chair, he studies her. "Are you having a good time so far?"
"I'm here with you," she answers which makes him blush. "That's always a good time."
"You know how to make me blush," he smiles.
She studies him, "What's your biggest fear?"
"What?"
"What's your biggest fear?" she repeats.
Fitz takes a breath, "My biggest fear used to be being a failure. I always feared not making my father proud. I always feared being his namesake gave me a path of success I couldn't veer from. I didn't follow in his footsteps and it hurt him for a while but I still made the Grant name proud and he's accepted that."
"So your new biggest fear is what?" She asks.
"I have two: Gerry and you," he answers.
There is a sadness that grows across her face immediately. She knows what his fear is about Gerry but surprised about him naming her. "Gerry's not going to stop loving you Fitz."
"I know that," he shakes his head. "My fear is that he will have a hard time trusting people now. I can't protect him from being hurt and he will be hurt."
"If we could always protect the people we love, there would be no fight for love," she answers which the profound impact of her words hit him. "What are you afraid of with me?"
"Someone taking you from me. That will be my fear always."
She looks around their surroundings wanting to shake the seriousness. "Keep treating me like this and you won't be able to get rid of me."
"There is a poker table with our name on it, let's hit it," Fitz says as he gets up reaching for her hand and they go toward the table.
Gerry is talking to one of his friends, Logan. He has a worried and anxious look on his face.
Gerry says, "You have to help me."
"Your parents are gonna kill you."
"Trust me, they won't care," Gerry says. "Can you help me?"
"Of course I can. My brother will do it but I don't know.."
"Your brother is old enough to do it," Gerry says.
Logan takes a breath, "Promise me I won't get in trouble."
Gerry assures him, "You won't get in trouble."
Fitz and Liv are at the poker table. Just like Fitz thought she would be, she's a natural at Poker They've been on a winning streak. He's smoking his cigar, feeling the ambiance of the gamble air, watching his lady beat the pants off this table. This guy walks over, takes a seat watching this game happen.
"She's taking names," the guy says as Fitz looks up.
"Yes she is," Fitz smiles.
"I've been watching her. She's one hot number," the guy continues.
"Yes she is," Fitz smiles again.
"I bet those lips are magic," the guy continues.
Fitz puts his cigar down. He looks up at the guy. "She's taken and she's taken by me. I suggest you walk away before I get very angry."
"Sorry there kid. Didn't mean to step on your toes," he says as he walks away.
"Do you want another hit ma'm?" The poker attendant asks.
Liv looks at her cards. She looks over at Fitz and winks. Her three opponents are more than exhausted by her luck, "No, I'll stay."
Fitz has been doing the math, her little bank is easily at $12,000. The other two players take a card. Liv lays it out on the table and she wins again. "The lady wins again," the attendant says.
Fitz walks over, kissing the side of her face, "You did good."
Liv is about to answer when she looks over and sees who is performing tonight. "I am ready to cash in. I have another idea."
"Ma'm do you want to play again?"
"No, I think I better quit while I'm ahead," Liv says getting up from the table.
"What's your idea?" Fitz asks as they gather her chips.
"I want to hear that group that is playing in the 's see if they have more tickets."
"Who is Silk?" Fitz asks.
"They were big in the 90's. They had a few hot songs. I think it would end this night perfectly."
"But I don't know them," Fitz says.
"You don't need to. You just need to know the songs," she laughs.
"How about I cash you out? You see if they have more tickets," Fitz suggests.
She gives him a kiss but there is a twinkle in her eye. "Perfect," she says as she walks away.
Fitz goes and cashes in the chips. He walks back to see her smiling, "We got tickets."
"We got tickets, the last two actually. We got a seat way in the back."
"Lead the way," Fitz says as they go into the lounge.
They take a seat at their little lit table. There's a cute candle lit at the table. It's very romantic and very intimate. As they take a seat, Fitz reaches for her hand and kisses the inside of her palms and then the top. Liv sort of purrs which Fitz loves. "I love it when you do that."
"Is that so?" He says as he kisses further up her arm. "Do you love when I do this?"
"Fitz..people are looking," she giggles.
"They can see how it's done," he says as he moves to her lips. "What is so special about this group?" he lifts his head to ask.
"It's classic R&B and total love making music," she answers.
He moves in closer to her bringing his arm around her waist to rest his hands on her hips and thigh. "I don't need music to want to make love to you. I probably should be in therapy for a sex addiction because I always want to make love to you," he answers placing a kiss on the crook of her neck.
"It's a mood thing Mr. Grant. You'll thank me later," she giggles. "Rochelle would kill me if she knew I was seeing them without her."
"I won't tell her," he laughs.
With determination in her eyes, she laughs, "Oh I am going to tell her. I am going to rub it in her face."
He stares at her, "This is the first weekend of many memories for us. I don't want you to ever forget it."
"I won't," she smiles as they kiss again. The start to their makeout session is interrupted by the announcer.
Folks you've been waiting for them and here they are. The smoother crooners. They are silky smooth. Tonight they'll bring you some of their biggest hits and give you renditions of some classics. Put your hands together for Silk…
They come out starting with their first song, Lose Control.
The room is full of people that remember them from back in the day. You can see the nostalgia on their faces. Fitz can see it on Liv's face but the words aren't missed on him. They sing:
Can I turn you on, till the break of dawn?
Fitz whispers in her ear, "All night lovemaking...I'm up for it if you are," he says kissing her earlove. Liv bites her lip. Her palms are immediately sweaty.
They move to their next song, Meeting in My Bedroom. Fitz is taking in every song. He's taking it word for word.
You're everything that I've been searching for. There's no need for me to search no more.
Fitz just simply takes her hand and kisses, "Everything," he says. The mutual lust in their eyes are palpable.
The next song starts, that starts like you are in a dream state, If You.
If you feeling like kissing me...If you feel like loving me.
Liv surprises him with a kiss. "I definitely feel like it."
Fitz has never been more happy that she wore a short dress. Fitz's hand starts to travel up her dress, rubbing her thighs. "You are clever little vixen. You knew what this would do to me."
She reaches her hand over to his member, "Whatever do you mean?" she teases.
He beckons the waiter and orders the stiffest drink he can have to match his stiff member.
Gary, the leader of the group, stops to talk for a moment, "I am glad we are able to share this lovers night with you. Do we have any lovers in the house tonight?" People start whistling. "This next song was a big hit for us. It was romantic and sexy. We wouldn't be Silk if we didn't sing it," he laughs. Any men in the house tonight are here with their special girl? She's your forever girl." Fitz immediately raises his hand, as does some others.
"Put your hand down. Do not embarrass me," Liv says, grabbing for his hand.
Gary continues, "This is for the girls in the house tonight. Fellas, let your ladies know that they are for you," he says as they begin to sing, Girl U For Me. The whole time they are singing Fitz is staring at Liv. She could almost read his thoughts.
Girl, u for me and girl, me for you.
"You are definitely mine," he says as he starts to get up.
"Where are you going?" Liv asks.
"I have to take care of something. I'll be right back. Enjoy. I'll be back shortly," he says as he kisses her temple.
She lets out a little disappointed sigh. He's gone for almost 35 minutes. When he comes back, their show is almost over. "Good, I didn't miss the end."
She looks at him a little pissed, "You missed most of the show."
"I'm sorry baby. It was really important," he says. That's the only explanation he gives.
Before she could answer, the lead singer comes back to the mic, announcing they are closing the show with their biggest hit. Most of the room was waiting for this one. "I know everyone is waiting for this one. We encourage ya'll to go home and get your freak on," he grins. "You take your girls and tell you girls…" he is talking over the guys repeating, Freak Me Baby. They start.
Let me lick you up and down.
Til you say stop.
Let me play with your body baby.
Make you real hot.
Let me do all the things you want me to do.
Cause tonight baby, I wanna get freaky with you.
The room is zoned in on the song. Liv begins to run her fingers through his chest hairs. She brings her fingertips up to his mouth. He kisses her fingertip, and he discreetly suckles it. He can feel her cross her legs under the table. He gently extends his arm around her hip, gently prying her legs apart with his strong hand.
"Fitz," she widens her eyes. "We can't do this here."
"He said get your freak on," Fitz says with a wink as his hand finds her pantyline. He realizes she has on the thinnest thong he's ever known her to wear. "Ms. Pope, what was the point?"
She's squirming trying not to be obvious as Fitz's index fingers taps her clit. "Fitz," she says out of breath.
"Found it," he says biting his lip, taking her lip into his as he begins rolling his finger back and forth over her nub as she bites her lip moaning. It's like reflexology. She slowly begins to grind on his two fingers now inside her.
The song continues:
I love to taste the whip cream.
Spread it on, don't be mean.
You know I can't resist girl.
I'll fly you all around the world.
I want to see your body drip.
Come on let me take a sip.
Take off what you cherish most.
Cause when I brag I like to brag most.
Like the song says, she wants to scream. She wants to scream stop and keep going all at the same time. Fitz is spreading her lips with his fingers, then rubbing her clit ever so softly then ever so fast. She is gripping arm with one hand. Her other hand is propping up her head on the table, trying to keep her from throwing her body down in front of everyone. He's massaging inside of her with his fingers like he's the most expert expert massage therapist.
She whimpers in delight, "God," she sighs.
He pulls her closer so her body can rest into his chest. "You are so wet baby," he whispers.
Her legs are so weak. She can barely lift them for support. He can feel her body start to vibrate.
"Don't stop," she musters to say breathing heavily. She wants to lay on top of that table and have him taste her right there. It feels so good.
"You sure," he whispers in her ear as he feels her walls swell around his fingers. "Come for me," he whispers.
"Fitz….Fitz..I shouldn't...Ugh...Oh..," she says biting her lips as she releases all over his hand. As she tears the fabric of his shirt she's been holding tightly. "How about we take this hotel?"
She can barely speak. She's riding the wave of her climax.
She hands him a napkin from her purse. He cleans his hand. "What are we gonna do at the hotel?"
"I'm gonna lick you up and down," he winks as he readjusts himself.
"I have to clean up a little, thanks to you. I'll meet you at the lobby entrance," she says as she gets up wobbling a little which makes him snicker. She turns and gives him a stare.
When she's out of site, a guy walks up to Fitz. "We are set for tomorrow."
"Thank you so much. Tomorrow has to be special and I think that is going to perfect," Fitz says as he gets up and leaves.
What does Fitz have planned for Liv tomorrow?
It's Saturday morning and Gerry, unbeknownst to Mellie, is packing a bag. He's going to his friend's older brother to help him run away. He's decided to run away to his father's fishing lodge house that they go to. He can't think of anywhere else to go. Mellie knocks on the door. Gerry hurries, as fast he can with his limited leg, throwing the bag under the bed.
"Come in mom," he says.
"Honey, I just wanted to talk to you a minute."
"What's up?" He says nonchalantly.
"Did you talk to your dad before he left?" She asks.
Gerry fights the urge to roll his eyes, "Yes! He told me he was gonna propose to Liv this weekend, an official proposal."
"Do you know where they went?" Mellie asks.
"Why mom?" Gerry asks annoyed.
She lets out that half defeated laugh she does when she's flustered. "I mean in case something happens."
"We promised him…..dad….. we wouldn't call him for anything this weekend unless it was serious. There's nothing serious mom. I'm fine and Karen is fine."
"I am your mother and you are in my care. If something happens I need to know how to reach your father," she says now annoyed with Gerry's behavior.
"Is he?" Gerry says as he stops himself.
"Is he what?" Mellie says.
"I have to go mom. I am packing my bag for tonight. Remember I'm staying over at Logan's tonight but we are going to the arcade and stuff."
"Is that tonight?" she asks as it totally slipped her mind.
"Yes, are you gonna say I can't go now because I won't tell you where dad is?" Gerry asks.
She stands up. She takes a mental step back. The undercurrent of the truth makes her think, "No, of course not honey. I hope you have a great time."
"Thanks," he offers. She goes toward the door to go out. "I don't know where dad is."
"And you wouldn't tell me if you knew," Mellie answers.
"No because I really like Olivia and she makes dad happy," Gerry answers.
The words sting Mellie. She just turns the door and leaves.
It's the next morning. Fitz is sprawled out across the bed stark naked under the covers. Liv is up looking out at the Falls that feels like she could reach out and actually touch the water. It's the most peaceful and tranquil sights she's ever seen. She's made herself a steaming cup of tea after having room service to deliver everything she needed. Last night with Fitz was magical and hot and loving and she never wanted it to end. She wonders how he can be this perfect even though she knows he isn't.
Fitz is starting to stir from his sleep. He reaches over to hug Liv's body to find it cold and empty. He opens his blinking fast. He rubs his eyes and utters her name, "Livvie," he says. She so in her thoughts, thinking about their love making that she doesn't even hear him. "You better be thinking about me," he says.
She finally hears him, "What? Hi!" she smiles.
"Hi," he smiles sitting up in the bed. His beautiful naked form is just perfect in her eyesight. "Penny for your thoughts."
"I was thinking about you," she smiles as she turns back to the view of the Falls. "This is really the most beautiful view I've ever seen."
"I beg to differ," he says as he throws on his boxers.
She turns on the little window bench, "What could possibly be more beautiful to look at than this?" She asks, pointing at the view.
He reaches down and kisses her bare leg peeking out through the robe, "The view of you."
"What is the plan for today?" She asks.
He sits on the window bench, pulling her on top of him, "I'm finally going to take you to the Falls."
"Really," she smiles. Before she knows it, he scoops her up and throws her over his shoulder. "What are you doing?" she asks, hitting his butt.
"We are going to shower and get ready," he answers as they go inside the bathroom.
A little later they are in Niagara Park, their reservation for the boat tour is not for another hour and they are walking around the park taking photos of it. He's never seen Liv take so many pictures of one thing. "It's beautiful Fitz."
"It's serene."
"Is there a favorite place you want to go that's your bucket list? This was one of mine for sure," she turns to him.
"I've always wanted to go to Machu Picchu. There's something about the architecture. The delicate build of it. It always fascinated me. Peru is also a beautiful country I've heard many times over."
"I never thought of it that way," she says.
He pulls her into him, "So we need to make a bucket list of places we need to visit together. Different sites and wonders we want to experience together. We have to think about together now because you are stuck with me and I hope I am stuck with you."
She takes a breath, "I'll have to think about it. I am not sure I want to be tied to one man."
He takes a big cup of her ass, "Excuse me woman!"
"Stop it, people are watching."
"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn," he says as he continues to reach down for a kiss.
About an hour later they are on the boat. They've been given the gear they need, the rain poncho. They are sitting on the boat as they get closer to the actual waterfall, Fitz can see the rising excitement on Liv's face. The water is starting to drench them and she loves it. "I can't believe it," she says.
"I can't believe you are letting your hair get wet," Fitz laughs.
"This hat is going to soften the blow. It won't be as bad as it could be," she answers.
The tour guide speaks on the mic, "Get ready to take those pictures and videos, we are coming up on it."
Everyone does as instructed. The water is splashing them and hitting them hard but everyone is oohing and aahing and snapping. The water is hitting them from all angles.
Fitz whispers to her, "I wish I could kiss you under the falls like a mistletoe."
Liv looks up and around them, "Technically we are kind of under the falls, so you can kiss me."
Fitz looks around and realizes she is right, "I guess I can," he answers as he does just that.
She quickly breaks away from the kiss, "Let's take a selfie."
"A what?"
"A selfie," she responds. Then she rolls her eyes, "Nevermind, just follow my lead." She holds out the phone that has its waterproof cover as she takes their selfie, cementing this memory for them to look back for days to come.
It's later on that night. They've walked all day hand in hand like honeymooners, exploring the park, the falls, and just the beauty sights of Ontario. They went home and just stayed cuddled in each other's arms for a while talking about nothing until it was time to change for dinner. Fitz told her it was going to be a romantic night for them and he was going all out. He had on his perfectly tailored Navy blue Brooks Brothers suit. She's dressed in a Halston strapless navy jumpsuit. She accessorized it with a white and navy floral wrap. She comes down the stairs of the loft. He's looking at his watch, a little nervously. He has everything planned to a science.
"Livvie, we really need to get go…" Before he can stop, he hears the clicks of heels coming down the stairs. She comes into view. "Damn," he says.
"Damn what?" she laughs.
"You look amazing and edible."
"You don't look so bad yourself," she smiles.
"I won't be able to take my eyes off you tonight. That could be a hazard."
She straightens his tie, wiping off his shoulders making sure he is perfect. "I better not watch your eyes be anywhere else but on me."
"Unless another hot woman passes by," he jokes. She smacks him playfully. "Ouch...I'm just kidding." He holds out his arm. "Shall we get this night started?"
"I thought you'd never ask," she says, linking her arm with his.
They walk out of the hotel loft room. Liv has no idea what awaits her tonight.
Logan's brother Timothy picks up the boys arcade. Mellie has no idea that it's not Logan's mom picking them up. Logan agreed to drive Gerry to the lodge house. Gerry had it all figured out in his head. He would bring his fishing gear. He packed a bunch of sandwiches. He bought a bunch of lunchables. He also packed a lot of candies and donuts. He thought ahead but even he didn't know how long he was going to be able to do this. But he needed time to think about what he heard and make sense of it. How could it be that Fitz is not his father? He had to hear it wrong but he knows he didn't. All he knew was that he had a name that didn't belong to him. Did his father even know the truth? All he knew for sure was that he was better off where he was.
Fitz surprised her with a romantic dinner atop the Skylon Tower Restaurant. It's a revolving restaurant that circles around the view of the Falls. It was just amazing to experience. It made you feel like you were in the swell of the waters without even touching.
"This has truly been the most unbelievable experience even I couldn't have dreamed this," Liv says as he reaches her hand and nuzzles her fingers.
"I wanted this to be a weekend you would never forget Livvie," Fitz says.
"I will truly never forget it," she reaches to caress the side of his face.
"I think I am, at the moment, more in love with this dessert than you," she laughs.
"I thought I was your favorite dessert."
"You used to be until I tasted this Chocolate Amaretto Torte. I could truly eat another piece and not feel guilty about it," she says as she eats another spoon. He licks his lips. She takes a fork and lets him taste.
He moans, she looks as if to say, I told you so. "It tastes just like you, delicious."
"No shame," she shakes her head as she notices he keeps looking at his watch.
"Everything okay?" she asks.
"Yes, we need to get going," he says as he asks for the waiter so he can pay the bill.
"We don't want to miss the fireworks," he answers, getting out his credit card.
"We can watch it from here," Liv says.
"No," he says as the waiter takes the card.
"What do you have up your sleeve Fitzgerald?" she asks.
"Don't worry your pretty little head...it's a surprise," he says as he signs the bill. He gets up, reaching for her hand .
They start walking and they make their way to the path that faces Niagara Falls. There is a bench there marked reserved. A security guard is sitting there. "Mr. Grant, it's all ready for you."
Liv looks at the set up. The bench is surrounded by rose petals. There is a little table that is holding a bucket with ice and champagne and two glasses. She stops and pulls Fitz's arm, "What is all this? How did you do this?"
Fitz continues to address the security guard while holding a cocky smile on his face, "Is everything else ready?"
"Yes sir it is," he answers. He looks over at Olivia, "You have a wonderful night ma'm."
"Fitz," she says.
He kisses her cheek, "Let's just enjoy the rest of this night to remember," Fitz answers.
They sit on the bench. He hands her the single long stem rose. That simply reads, Will you be mine forever?
She's blushing from ear to ear, "You already know the answer to that."
"Just thought I'd ask again," he says as he pours the champagne and passes her a glass.
She stares lovingly into his eyes. "You never asked me what my biggest fear is."
"Mmmm," he says confused.
"Last night I asked what your biggest fear is. You didn't ask me what was mine."
He takes a sip of his champagne, "I guess I didn't. Do you want to tell me?"
"Yes I do," she responds.
"What is it?"
"You," she answers.
He turns to her, surprised by her answer. "Me. I'm your biggest fear."
"Yes, you are a force Mr. Grant. I've never felt anything like it. I feel you on my skin, in my pores, and in my heart. I have no boundaries with you and that scares me."
He traces her face, "And that scares you?"
"To death," she laughs faintly.
"This is no slight Stephen, I know you loved him very much but I think neither one of us have ever truly been in love. We've loved but we've never been in love until we met each other. It's a very scary feeling. Believe me, I understand."
She is biting her lips in nervousness, "I am madly in love with you," she answers.
"Good because I'm madly in love with you," he says as he gets up and gets on one knee.
"What are you doing?," she says looking around. She realizes this is the moment. "Don't you dare. Don't you dare do this."
He reaches in his pocket and pulls out the most amazing ring out of his pocket. She notices someone has been designated to record. She can't help but let the tears that's forming fall. "Olivia Carolyn Pope, she's Livvie to me and Trixie to others," Liv rolls her eyes as he continues. "You showed up in my life in the strangest were supposed to save my marriage and instead you saved me. I fell in love with you, the moment you smiled at a joke I told that only you understood. I knew you saw me. You see me. That sense of humor and that beautiful smile, all of you, I think I fell in love with immediately." Liv is wiping her eyes, trying to compose herself. "I want to love you for the rest of my life. I want you to wear my name, have my babies, and be my endless love. Would you do me the honor of marrying me?"
The tears are steadily flowing. Even Though he's holding her hands, her hands are shaking. She can't believe this moment. The water behind her. The stars in the sky. Her heart is beating so fast but she can hear what it's saying. It's screaming YES. She looks at him and then quickly buries her face in her hands. She's shaking her head, "I hate you."
Fitz's eyes go wide, "That wasn't the answer I was looking for." he says as he doesn't know what to do next.
"I can't believe you did this to me," she says as she's now looking at him. Now he has fear in his eyes, "Yes, I will marry you."
He turns around for the camera man, pumping up his fist. He turns back to her, sliding this perfectly appointed diamond heart ring on her finger. "I love you baby," he says as she reaches down and kisses him.
"I love you," she answers as they kiss. The appointment Niagara Falls Fireworks show starts, right on time.
Fitz joins her back on the bench, pulling her close, "Look up," he whispers.
She looks up, the light show is amazing. "You planned all of this."
"I sure did," he smiles, watching the lights illuminate her eyes with different colors. Then all of a sudden there's a gasp. "Fitz!" she squeals.
The lights have words that read: She said YES! Fitz loves Olivia!
"I'm the man," he says proudly.
"How did you know I would say yes ?" She asks.
"I'm in your pores Ms. Pope," he says with a wink.
"Come here," she says, grabbing his face attacking him with a kiss as the lights continue.
The lights begin to die down as they break away from their very intense makeout session. Fitz pulls away, "I have one more surprise," Fitz announces.
"You can't outdo yourself," Liv says.
"Yes I can," Fitz says as she can hear in the distance singing.
Just ask and I'll do.
I'll do it for you.
They'll be no more games that we'll play.
Liv looks to see Silk standing there in the flesh serenading them with Girl U For Me.
"Fitz," is all she can say, which is the only words that seem to escape her lips.
"May I have this dance?" He asks.
"Yes you can," she says as she takes his hand and they begin to dance.
Tonight is the night.
And the mood is right.
Baby let me tell you.
I'm in love with you tonight.
The more love we make
And the more love we take
And let me tell you..
I won't let you get away.
Girl, u for me..
He whispers in her ear as they dance, "Thank you."
She lifts her head to look at him, "For what?"
"For saying yes, of course but for taking me to see them last night. It was meant to be it fell right in with my plans."
"I'm forever your girl," she answers as they kiss.
The night that we met.
Is the night I won't forget.
How you touch my heart.
And you made me realize.
I knew you were the one.
Now after all that's said and done.
Baby, can I tell you.
That I want you by my side..
Girl, u for me..
"I'm really gonna marry you," she says as if she is in shock.
"You don't have a choice." They kiss again. "I really like the part in the song where it says which one of us will scream first. How about we go back to the hotel and see?"
"I thought you would never ask," she says.
They say their thanks and goodbyes to Silk. Liv was even able to sneak in a photo. As a courtesy favor the group is going to call her and serenade her. The manager is going to set it up for them. They were itching to get back to the hotel room and celebrate.
Gerry has run away…
Olitz is finally engaged.
Shall I continue this chapter…..hehe?
