The four of them stand. There shouldn't be silence but there is. Fitz grabs tightly to Olivia's hand. It's a natural reflex that he didn't even notice he did. Mellie takes note of the easy intimacy they obviously share. Liv softly brings her hand over his arm to lock it. Mellie literally takes a literal breath at the ring that now adorns her hand. It's beautiful. It's perfect for her hand, even Mellie had to admit but it is much more specific than her ring. She also looks over to see another ring that she never remembered seeing when they were in sessions with her. Did he give her that too? Richard could see so much in her face. Fitz breaks the silence. Silence is not going to find their son.

"What happened?" he says as he looks in Richard's direction. He wants to punch this guy but now is not the time for it.

"He was supposed to be at Logan's house. It turns out he already planned this, to leave. Logan is not talking," Mellie answers.

"Logan is not talking. His parents should make him talk. Our son….," he says looking over at Richard, " is missing and his friend is picking now to be loyal." Liv squeezes his hand letting him know that she's right there.

"I honestly don't think he knows where he went, Fitz. He just asked his brother to drop him somewhere and he would get to where he was going." Mellie holds up his cellphone. "And he left his phone."

"So his brother was stupid enough to bring him somewhere knowing he wasn't old enough to be on is own. What in the hell was he thinking?"

"Fitz," Liv whispers. Liv decides to try and help this situation. "Did something happen?" Liv addresses Mellie.

"Are you blaming me for this?" Mellie is immediately defensive.

"I am not blaming you Mellie just trying to figure out what possibly happened," Liv clarifies.

"Well, I am the parent that was here," Mellie spits back.

"Don't start this Mellie. He was here with you. She's just asking a simple question. Did something happen at school? Was he upset about something? No one is blaming you for anything," Fitz says.

"Both his parents were here," Richard pipes in.

Fitz is going for him when Liv pulls him back, "Baby, fighting is not going to help anything right a breath."

Fitz looks into her eyes. Those eyes that always make everything alright for him. He lets out a breath. "Okay."

"Okay," Liv says. Mellie is seething with anger.

"Does he know anything?" Fitz asks.

"What do you mean?" Mellie says

"He doesn't know about this whole situation does he?" Fitz asks as points around the obvious.

"Of course he doesn't. I would never tell him that," Mellie answered emphatically.

"I am not accusing you of anything Mellie," Fitz interjects.

"Let's try not to do that," Richard says sarcastically.

"Why are you even here?" Fitz says.

"My son is missing and I think I should be here," Richard answers.

"I've been his father since the day he was born. I am the only father he's ever known. Now is not a good time to come beating your chest about his paternity."

"Isn't that what you are doing?" Richard says.

"It's the truth. The only thing you've ever done was cheat on your wife and flower your seeds. I really don't think throwing your weight around is a good idea right now," Fitz fires back.

Liv keeps pulling him back. "This is not going to get us anywhere. We need to try to figure out where he could go. He can't have that much money. Are there any other friends he could have called?"

Mellie knows that Liv is right. "I called his other friends. No one else knows."

"Is it possible he said something to Karen?" Liv asks.

"I doubt it," Mellie says.

"We can still ask her," Fitz says.

"I'll get her," Mellie says. She starts going toward the stairs. She turns to address Fitz, "Maybe we should talk to her, just the two of us." She narrows her eyes at Liv.

Fitz looks at Liv, she stops him, "Go ahead. I am going to call the police and see if they can help us at all. I know the procedure, 24 hours, but maybe under the circumstances they can speed it up."

He reaches down and kisses her, "Thank you baby."

"Love you," Liv says softly as she caresses his face. Mellie unknowingly balls her fist.

"Love you too," Fitz answers as he reluctantly lets go of Liv's hand and goes toward Mellie.

As they start toward the stairs, Mellie whispers, "Nice ring." She rolls her eyes and goes ahead of him angrily toward Karen's room.

Liv and Richard are left to stare at each other. "So you are the therapist that fixed their marriage," he says sarcastically with a chuckle.

"I tried to but lies and secrets seem to have gotten there before I did," Liv answers sharply.

"Listen I know what you must think of me and…"

Liv cuts him off. "You have no idea what I think of you. The only thing I know is, I hope this never happens to you. I hope you never love something and invest your heart into it to only find out it was a lie. That's what Fitz is dealing with right now. His son, that bears his name, is missing and to him, he feels like he's lost his son a second time. I don't know what your plans are but I won't let you hurt him or Gerry. If I were you, I would worry about how my wife, who invested in you and your marriage is going to take this news."

Richard quickly defends himself, "How do you know I haven't told her?"

"Your track record seems to indicate you aren't forthcoming with the truth," she whips back.

Richard is dumbfounded. Who is this woman? "I'll go pour myself a drink."

"Please do more than that, your son is missing. In case you have forgotten," she says annoyed as she walks away and calls the police. She stays on the phone with them a little while explaining the situation. As Liv figured, it hasn't been 24 hours but since no one knows when Gerry actually disappeared they are asking for a description of him and full name and what to look for. They are sending a cop over to get all the information needed.

Mellie and Fitz are in Karen's room. Janice joins Olivia and Richard downstairs. Karen is back to her train of thought, "Daddy, am I going with you and Ms. Olivia tonight?"

Mellie quickly jumps, "Karen we already talked about this." Karen pouts.

"Princess, right now, mommy and daddy need your help with something. Do you think you can help?" Fitz asks.

"Of course I can help Daddy. I'm a big girl don't you remember," she answers. Mellie and Fitz both laugh, Fitz more so than anything.

"Yes, you are a very big girl and I want you to know we won't be upset with you if you can't help us okay," Fitz tries to explain.

"Okay daddy," she answers carefreely .

"Honey, we want to talk to you about Gerry," Mellie starts.

"Mommy, I'm sorry. I'll put his game back in his room," Karen admits.

Fitz and Mellie both look confused. They both realize she's confessing to a crime they didn't even know she commited. "No sweet pea, it's not about Gerry's game. Although you know you aren't supposed to go in his room and take his things."

"I was going to put it back," Karen says.

"Okay, princess, you can put it back. But it's not about the game. You aren't in trouble," Fitz explains.

"You sure," Karen asks.

"I am sure," he says kissing her on the forehead. It's these moments that Mellie forgets her anger and remembers this man. He continues, "Do you know where Gerry is?" Fitz says.

"He's at Logan's. Mommy let him go over there but she didn't let me go to Molly's house," Karen acknowledges.

Fitz and Mellie stare at each other, "Princess, I am sure mommy had a good reason for not letting you go to Molly's."

"And she won't let me go to your house either. She says Ms. Olivia is not my mommy," Karen keeps spilling the beans.

Fitz gives Mellie a more aggravated glance this time, "Yes, she's not your mommy but she's a very important person in daddy's life now and will be in yours but we will talk about that later. We can't find Gerry. Do you know where he went?"

"I don't daddy."

Mellie takes a breath, "Sweet pea, it's okay if you are sharing a secret with your brother and he told you not to tell."

"But I'm not sharing a secret," Karen says frustratingly.

Fitz steps in, "Okay but did you and Gerry talk about anything before he went to Logans?"

"No," she says sadly. "Is Gerry hurt daddy?"

Mellie and Fitz look at each other, not knowing how to answer. "No he's okay," Mellie says unconvincingly.

"Okay princess. That's all," Fitz finishes. His phone buzzes. He reads Liv's message. He looks over at Mellie, "The police are here." They both get up to leave.

"Daddy are you leaving?" Karen asks.

"No, I'll be downstairs with mommy. I'm not going anywhere," Fitz assures her as they leave. They stand in the hallway for a few minutes. Fitz turns to Mellie, "I think I need to drive around and try to find him."

"I'll go with you," Mellie says.

"No, I think this is something Richard and I need to do. We need to talk anyway," Fitz announces.

Mellie is immediately skittish at the idea. "I really don't think that's a good idea."

"Why not? We need to find Gerry and well…"

Mellie immediately drops her head in shame, "I am sorry Fitz. I honestly didn't know he wasn't your son."

"We've been through this Mellie. We just need to find our….son," he turns to walk away.

Mellie stops him, "So, you really proposed."

"Yeah, I did."

"It's there you know," Mellie starts.

"What's there?" Fitz asks, confused.

"The look," Mellie answers.

Fitz has no time for word games, "What are you talking about Mellie?"

"The look...your eyes, her eyes. You've never looked at me like that. I suppose that's my fault really. But the look in your eyes when you had to leave her. You looked like a lost child," Mellie explains.

"What is the point of this?"

"Did you ever feel lost without me?" she asks.

There is an awkward silence. Fitz slowly answers. "I felt like we were partners for a long time. I felt like we complimented each other really well. But did my heart ever ache for you. Did I ever feel like I couldn't breathe without you or exist without you? No. I love you Mellie and a part of me always will. We share a child but I am in love with Olivia and there's only room for one person in my heart for that feeling." Fitz starts down the stairs feeling like the worst prick in the world for hurting her that way.

Mellie tries to shake off the words that pierced her. She fixes her expression, holds her head higher than needed and starts downstairs behind enter to find the police there speaking to Richard and Olivia.

The officer says, "You must be Mr. and Mrs. Grant," the officer says.

"Removed," Mellie says under breath.

"I'm sorry ma'am can you repeat that?" The officer asks.

"It's not important," Mellie finishes.

The officer holds out his notebook, "Ms. Pope here and Mr. Allen explained that your son was last seen yesterday by you Mrs. Grant," he starts.

"I dropped him off yesterday at his friend's and I was ready to pick him up today and they explained he never got there."

"So this person that dropped him off somewhere. What is his name and number and so we can get more information from him. We need to know where to look," the cop explains.

Mellie gives the cop the information. Fitz jumps in, "Mr. Allen and I are going to go drive around looking for him. I can't just sit here and do nothing." Richard looks surprised that they are going somewhere together. Liv looks at Fitz, feeling totally helpless.

"I totally understand . We are going to make copies of the pictures you provide us with and get this out to every dispatch."

The doorbell rings. Mellie goes to answer and it's Mellie's father and mother. Of course she called them. Fitz hasn't had a chance to call his parents, which he knows he should do. "Mom and dad, thanks so much for coming." They both come in giving her a hug and immediately taking in the room. Richard, Olivia, and the Police.

Mellie's mom asks, "Any news?"

"No," Mellie answers quickly.

"Fitz," Mellie's father says as they shake hands.

Mellie can tell her mother is confused, she decides to break the ice, "Mom this is Olivia Pope, we've talked about her. And this is Richard," she stutters.

Mellie's mother whips her head around, "Richard?"

"Richard and I are going to go canvassing. See if maybe we can find something," Fitz announces.

"I will go with you," Mellie's father answers.

Fitz looks over at Liv. She can see what's worrying him without him asking. She just nods her head that she will be okay. He nods back apprehensively and she assures him with another nod that it's fine.

The officer announces, "I am going to get this picture out to all the units and we will let you all know immediately if we find something."

"Thanks so much officer," Mellie says.

Fitz reaches out his hand, "Thank you officer."

"Well, I hope we find your son safe and everything is okay," he answers as he leaves.

Fitz grabs his keys, saying aloud, "I haven't even called my parents," as he goes for the door.

"I'll call them," Mellie offers.

"Thank you," Fitz says as he eyes Liv. He and Richard and his ex-father in law leave in search of Gerry.

Gerry is sitting at the lodge watching television. Thanks goodness Fitz keeps those things going year round. Gerry bought a bunch of lunchables and other snacks to get him through days. He realized once he got there that he really hadn't thought any of this through except one thing. He was confused. Nothing makes sense to him and he wants some real answers. Deep down he hopes his dad will figure it out. This was their special place. This is where he talked to his dad about any and everything. This is where his father taught him how to fish. This is where his father talked to him about girls and being in love and knowing when the time was right for it. This is where he felt closest to his father and he needed to feel that now. He needed to feel close to the man that seems the farthest away from him right now.

Fitz, Richard, and his father in law are riding silently. No one knows who should speak first. Richard is sitting in the back seat. Fitz is looking around the streets.

Mellie's father decides to speak, "So you are Richard?"

"I suppose I am," Richard answers.

"I guess you have no idea what ruckus you have caused," he says half seriously and half jokingly.

"I wouldn't call it a ruckus," Richard answers.

"Really, what would you call it?" Fitz chimes in.

"Listen Grant, no one meant for this to happen," Richard says.

Fitz looks through the rear view mirror, "Am I missing something here? The last time I looked unless Mellie used a turkey baster with your sperm in it, she got pregnant the old fashioned way." Fitz is trying to keep calm and keep his eyes on the road.

"We tried….," Richard starts.

"You didn't try hard enough. She spread her legs for you to get a promotion and then she just kept spreading them and now here we are," Fitz grits his teeth.

"You watch your mouth, that's my daughter you are talking about," Mellie's dad chimes in.

"Mellie loves me….we just can't….," Richard tries to explain the what can't be explained..

"Being married is pesky business isn't it," Fitz says.

"The pot calling the kettle. You cheated on Mellie and now you are marrying her," Richard tries to fight back.

"You and that woman are getting married," Mellie's dad says surprised.

"That woman has a name, it's Olivia. And we are getting married," Fitz defends. He looks through the rear view mirror again, "For the record, I never cheated on Mellie with Olivia." He gets upset. He pulls the car over, stopping a screeching halt. "We are in this car together, looking for my son who ran away. A son who is not mine, who I love more than anything. A son who is not mine because you and my wife were cheating and lying. You have no room to point out to me my own improprieties that don't exist."

Even Mellie's father feels sorry for Fitz at this moment, "Son, calm down."

Fitz notices where they have stopped. He takes a breath. "This is one of his favorite parks, let's walk around it."

They all agree it's a good idea. They get out and start walking around calling for Gerry.

Back at the house, everyone was gathered around the kitchen. Liv can't help but look at the island and absorb the secret she knows about it. Mellie can almost see the thoughts in her head. Janice has made them all some tea.

Liv is feeling a little awkward sandwiched between Mellie and her mother. She wants to escape. "I need to go make a phone call," Liv says as she excuses herself. She stands in the hallway calling her mother. She then slips upstairs to find Karen. She knocks.

"Come in," she says in the cutest way.

Liv opens the door to find her playing with her dollhouse, "Ms. Olivia," she screams, running to her.

"Hey sweetheart. I hope you don't mind me coming to visit you," she says.

"Would you like to play with me?" Karen asks.

"I would love to," Liv says as she sits on the floor with her. It feels like being a kid again. "Do you have a doll for me?"

"You can use mine," Karen says happily, passing it to her.

"Thank you," Liv smiles. They begin to play tea time. There is just a comfortable silence for a while and just the sounds of a made up conversation.

Karen finally asks what's been on her mind, "Is Gerry okay?"

Liv studies her for a moment. She knows she's a very smart little girl. "We hope Gerry is okay. It seems he wanted to be by himself for a while."

"Because I took his game," Karen says with a very sad face.

"No sweetheart. It's not your fault. Sometimes people just like to be alone to think or just hear the silence. Gerry just needed a minute but it's not because you took his game. I bet, even though it's his game, he would share with you and teach you how to play."

"But he says it's a game for boys and girls don't play it. I just wanted to show him I could play it too," Karen answers.

Liv shifts on the floor, "Come here," she says patting her thigh. Karen sits down. "Gerry loves you very much. You are his little sister. And brothers take care of their sisters. My brother is always telling me I can't do stuff but he takes care of me," Liv explains.

"You have a brother," Karen says with widened eyes.

"Yes, his name is Harrison," Liv smiles.

"Does he let you play with his stuff?" Karen asks.

"Well, we are adults now but when we were little we fought over toys but eventually I would win," Liv smiles.

"Can I meet him someday?" Karen asks.

"You most certainly can," Liv answers.

Karen just sits in her thoughts. Liv can tell they are all over the place. "Ms. Olivia, is Gerry going to come back?"

"We certainly hope so. Your dad is out trying to find him right now, to find out what's wrong, so he can come home."

"I don't want him to get hurt," Karen says sadly.

"Your brother is very smart and he knows how to take care of himself. He won't get hurt. Don't you worry about that, okay?"

"Okay."

"Now, our tea is getting cold. How are we going to warm this up and finish our teatime?" Liv asks, trying to break the sad mood.

"I have a microwave," Karen says incredulously.

Liv throws her head back laughing, "Of course, silly me."

They continue to play tea time as Mellie is outside of the door having listened to the conversation. She wanted to go in and tell Olivia to mind her business but after hearing the conversation she couldn't find fault in anything she heard. She could only find jealousy in her heart for the woman who is making something of the life she could have led.

Fitz, Richard, and his dad return to a full house. His parents are there. Mellie's parents are there and there's Olivia. She hasn't left. Knowing that she is in for the long haul was all he needed. He gives her a knowing smile that she knows says, Thank You. Mellie watches the little glance and the little smile.

"Son, I am so sorry," Corinne says as she goes to embrace her son, glaring at Mellie at the same time.

"Thanks for coming, Mom," Fitz says as he holds the embrace.

"Is there anything we can do son, besides find our grandson?" Big Gerry asks.

"No, we drove everywhere. He was in none of those places. I don't know where the hell he could have gone. He's a smart kid so he had to have had some kind of plan here," Fitz says frustrated. Liv has now gone to his side and she grabs his hand.

"Listen, we are going to find him," Corinne says.

"And you are right. He's a smart kid. He's probably doing better than we are right now," Liv says trying to make him feel a little better.

Richard is sitting in a chair as the oddball out in the group. Mellie is about to move to his side when her mother intercepts. "Is it really smart that he be here right now?"

"Mother, what would you have me do? He is….his father. I had to tell him that he was missing," Mellie defends.

"He just found out that he's his father. He didn't have to be here. Just rub it in Fitz's face, what you did."

Corinne jumps in, Mellie nor Doreen sees her. "Yes, you seem to love to hurt my son. Wasn't your infidelity enough and now you flaunt it in his face while your son is out there missing."

Mellie looks to her mother for help. "I'm sorry."

"Yes you are," Corinne says as she walks away. "I am going to check on my granddaughter."

Burt and Big Gerry are talking. Fitz is standing with Olivia. She knows he is much more worried than he is letting on. She strokes the back of his neck. It's so natural and effortless "Fitz, I know you are worried to death about him and I'm worried too but I have a feeling he's okay. We don't know where he is but he's okay."

"I'm scared to death Livvie. He's just a kid. He can't take care of himself," Fitz says.

"Yes he can. You have two very smart kids, one of which is going to be an amazing young woman someday," Liv says.

"Karen," he says.

"Yes," Liv smiles.

"What if we don't find him Liv? What if we…?"

Liv stops him, putting her finger on his lips, "Don't talk like that. We are going to find him and bring him home and find out what happened, what made him want to run away."

"But," Fitz continues.

"But nothing. We are going to find him and find him soon. Look at me," Liv says. He turns to her. The pain on his face is palpable. "I think you know where he is. You just need to calm and think."

"If I knew where he was, I'd be right there," Fitz says frustrated.

"He obviously planned this Fitz. He picked somewhere he probably felt safe and he knew…" Before Liv could finish. He kisses her hard, taking everyone by surprise. "Fitz," she says breathless when they break away. "What are you doing?"

"I know where he could be," Fitz says, kissing her hand, "Thank you!" He turns around, addressing the room. "I think he knows where he is."

"You do. You do," Mellie says.

"Yes, I think I do," Fitz says. He takes off running toward the garage. Everyone is wondering where he is going.

"What did he figure out?" Big Gerry asks Olivia.

"I don't know. I just told him he just needed to think that he probably knows," Liv answers.

Fitz comes back, "He is at the lodge."

"How do you know?" Mellie says.

"The fishing rod is gone and the box," Fitz says.

"Oh my god," Mellie says, catching her chest. "Is it even safe there right now."

"I keep all the utilities on and it's cleaned once a week. The only thing it's not stocked with is food. But I guess he was planning to fish," Fitz says somewhat proudly that his son was trying to be self-sufficient.

Mellie takes a breath. "What was he thinking?"

"I am going to go there right now," Fitz says.

"I am coming with you," Mellie says as she wants to gather her things.

"I should come too," Richard says.

"I don't think that is a good idea," Liv says.

"I don't think this is any of your business," Mellie says.

"No, you are right. It is none of my business but he went to the one place he knew Fitz would find him. He didn't go somewhere that is special to you all as a family. He went to a place that is special to him and to Fitz. This has something to do with his father," Liv explains.

"Are you sure he doesn't know about him?" Fitz says.

"No, I didn't talk to him without you. Besides, no one else knows but all of us in this room. And I just told my mother the other day," Mellie says.

"That's the truth," Doreen backs up.

"Where did you tell her?" Fitz asks.

"What do you mean?" Mellie asks.

"Where were the two of you when you told her?" Fitz furthers.

"We were upstairs in the bedroom," Mellie says.

"He probably heard you," Fitz says.

"He couldn't have," Mellie says defensively.

"We don't know that. I am going to the lodge," Fitz says looking over at Richard, "To look for my son."

"Then I'm coming with you," Mellie demands.

"I think Liv is right," Fitz says.

"I think she's right too," Doreen adds.

"Mom," Mellie says, shocked at her backing up Fitz and Olivia.

"If he did hear us then that could be why he ran away. He's probably so confused and upset and he needs Fitz," Doreen explains. Mellie takes a breath.

"I'll call if he's there. I think Olivia should come with me. I don't know what he's thinking or what the problem is. Maybe you can help if he has some questions," Fitz says.

"I will do what I can but only if he needs me," Liv says. Mellie rolls her eyes now feeling like Richard .She's the one left out in the cold.

Fitz reaches for Olivia's hand, "Let's go."

Fitz and Olivia leave much to Mellie's silent objection.

Gerry is looking at television. Something he's been doing for a few hours after getting bored of playing one of his games. He didn't have any luck fishing but he still has his food. He is starting to fall asleep. Liv and Fitz make their way across the water to the house. They can see a few lights on. Fitz breathes a sigh of relief. They think he must be there.

"The lights are on," Fitz says with a sigh of relief before even going in.

"That's a good sign," Liv says. They go up to the porch. They look through the windows. Liv spots him on the couch drifting in and out of sleep. She touches her chest letting out a sigh of relief that she was right. "He's here."

Fitz moves over to her quickly to look through the window. He lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding for a while. "Thank God."

They watch him through the window for a few minutes, "He's exhausted," Liv says.

"Running away can be exhausting," Fitz tries to laugh.

Liv holds him there for a while. "Fitz, don't go in there upset. We are all upset that he did this but we need to find out why first. Take it slowly. If he did hear Mellie's conversation with her mother, he's so confused Fitz and hurt."

Fitz drops his head, "I'm hurt and confused too Liv."

"I know you are. But you've had a little time to absorb this 've had time for the shock to settle. He needs a little time too," Liv explains.

"Damn Mellie," Fitz says and he stops himself.

"Fitz," she says softly.

"She cheated on me and got pregnant and now we are all paying for it, mostly my son. He doesn't deserve this."

Liv slowly places his face in her hands. She brings his face to his, "Neither one of you deserve this. You were both a victim of selfishness but don't let that ruin your relationship with each other. Don't let that get ruined in the process. That is your son in there no matter what the DNA says. If it weren't for you, we probably wouldn't be standing here right now."

"It's because of you," Fitz says as he places a soft kiss on her lips.

"Are you ready?" Liv asks.

"I think so," Fitz says as he gets the key as they go inside. Gerry is dozing. Fitz turns off the television as he slowly utters Gerry's name. "Gerry."

Gerry starts to lift his head. He rubs his eyes harshly, focusing his eyes on Fitz, "Dad." Then he looks over to see Liv standing here. "Ms. Olivia."

"Hey there kid," Liv smiles as Gerry sits up. He looks at Fitz knowing he's in a world of trouble.

"I'm sorry dad," Gerry says.

"You had us scared to death son," Fitz says. He looks at the clock. "It's 2 in the morning. How about we all get some sleep and we talk in the morning."

Gerry is really confused now, "Am I grounded?"

"For now, I am just happy you are okay and nothing happened to you. After we talk in the morning we will go from there. Okay," Fitz says as he nods at Liv who nods it was the right answer.

Gerry, already half asleep says, "I'm glad you found me dad."

Fitz reaches down, kissing his son on the head, "I am glad I found you too."

Gerry falls back asleep. Fitz tucks him in with a blanket. Liv goes to Fitz's side as they watch Gerry sleep. "He's okay," Liv says.

"I think my heart is finally beating. I was scared to death he would be hurt or something," Fitz says.

"Why don't we try to get some sleep so we can talk to him in the morning?"

"Would you mind if I just sleep in here and watch him sleep?" Fitz asks.

"Of course not. Let me tuck you in," Liv winks.

"Thanks Momma," Fitz says, patting her bottom.

"Fitz. Not in front of your son," she laughs.

"Why not?"

"Lay down. I'll get you a blanket. Where can I find them?" Liv asks.

"Extras are in the laundry closet over there with some extra pillows. The bedrooms are down that hall to the left."

Liv goes to get the blankets and pillows for Fitz. Fitz decides to go into another room and give Mellie a quick call. Mellie answers, "Fitz did you find him?"

"I did. He's here. He's asleep now and I told him we will talk in the morning but he's okay," Fitz answers.

"Thank God," Mellie says as she turns to everyone else. "Fitz found him."

"As soon as we talk in the morning, we will come home."

"Is he okay, really?" Mellie asks.

"Physically he looks fine," Fitz says.

"Are you sure I don't need to come?"

Fitz shakes his head, "No Mellie. I think I am good. I'll bring him home."

"Okay," Mellie says as she hangs up.

Liv is standing in the doorway, "Let's get you to bed mister."

"Come here," Fitz says.

"What?" Liv asks tilting her head.

"Come here," Fitz says again.

She walks over. He sits on a chair, bringing her on to his lap. "What are you doing?"

His arm is extended around her hip and thigh, "I love you," he says simply.

"I love you too," she giggles.

"No, I mean it. I love you and I want you to know that. I would have lost my mind if it weren't for you with this whole thing. I don't know if I could have done any of this without you. Now that I have you, I need you to breathe. I need you to be alive."

"I need you too," Liv says, bringing his lips to hers. He stares at the ring on her finger.

"That's why I put that ring on your finger. You are everything I need," Fitz says as he kisses her back.

"I feel the same way but let's get you tucked in before you get a wandering eye," Liv laughs.

"If my eye wanders anywhere it will be between those beautiful thighs," Fitz winks.

"Your son is found and asleep. We aren't doing anything but going to sleep tonight ourselves," she smiles.

"I know," Fitz says pouting as Liv tucks him in so he can keep watch over his son and she goes to the bedroom and tries to get some sleep herself.

It's the next morning. Liv wakes up first. She goes into the living room to find the Grant men sleeping on the couch. She goes into the kitchen and finds some fresh coffee she can brew and some sugar and dry cream. She looks in the fridge to see Gerry's lunchables and gatorades he brought with him.

She smiles, "Smart boy."

She puts the coffee on and just stands in the kitchen contemplating the last few days. She spent a weekend with the man she has fallen helplessly in love with. He asked her to marry him and she said yes, so now she's engaged. And they found his son safe and sound. She's snatched out of her daydream by some strong arms around her waist.

"Good morning beautiful," Fitz says kissing his neck.

"Good morning," she moans lightly as he tightens his grip.

"You know I like my coffee black and strong, just like you," he says nuzzling her neck a little more.

"You are shameless," she laughs.

"And shamelessly in love," he adds. He kisses her neck again, "Thank you again for coming with me."

She turns around in his arms, draping her hands around his neck. "You don't have to thank me. There is nowhere else I'd want to be."

"Will you marry me?" Fitz grins with that boyish smile that melts her heart.

"I'm already engaged. I don't know how my fiance would feel about that," Liv says playfully.

"Who is the lucky bastard? I want to have a word with him. Maybe we can work out a share plan."

"Well I'll see what I can do. He's very possessive and I don't think he'd like to share me," she says as she gives in to the kiss he's been trying to give her from first touch.

Fitz breaks the kiss, "Damn right I don't," he answers deepening the kiss. The kiss is broken by the sound of Gerry's voice calling for his dad.

"Go see. I'll bring you some coffee and him some gatorade," she smiles.

"Gatorade," Fitz says with a scrunched nose.

"Don't ask," Liv laughs as Fitz goes into the living room where Gerry is.

Fitz sits in the chair across from Gerry. "You okay Gerry."

"I guess so," Gerry says.

"Are you ready to talk?" Fitz asks.

"I guess so," Gerry shrugs.

"You had us worried sick. You can't run away like that," Fitz implores, making sure he's looking Gerry in the eye.

"I didn't want to run away dad. I didn't know what to do," Gerry answers.

"What happened son? Just tell me what it is and I promise I won't get mad. I just want to know what made you so upset that you thought you had to run away."

"I didn't understand," Gerry answers confusedly.

"What didn't you understand?" Fitz asks.

"I heard mom and grandma talking. I heard mom say that you aren't my dad."

Liv is in the kitchen listening. She shakes her head feeling sorry for him. Fitz drops his head, "I'm sorry you heard that. You shouldn't have never found out that way."

"Is it true?" Gerry asks as Liv peeps her head in the door.

Fitz hesitates for a moment. He understands the emotions Gerry must be going through. "Do you mind if Olivia sits with us?"

"No, she's cool," Gerry answers.

Liv comes in with the coffee and the gatorade. "Coffee and gatorade and saltine crackers. No groceries but it's something." They all laugh and Fitz's demeanor turns serious again.

"Gerry, to answer your question, yes what you heard your mother say is the truth. I am not your father," Ftiz answers.

"I don't have a dad," Gerry says.

"No you have a dad. You have me. That will never change no matter what. I will always be your dad, just not by blood."

Gerry has so much sadness in his eyes. Fitz looks at Liv and back at Gerry. He wants to just take his son's pain away, "Did you always know dad?"

"No son I didn't. I just found out a few weeks ago. Your mother and I thought we should wait to tell you. We didn't want you to be upset."

"I don't understand dad," Gerry says.

Fitz is about to speak when Liv signals to let her try to explain. "Gerry, your mom and dad love you very much. People make mistakes that sometimes have lasting consequences that can't be changed. Adults make a lot of mistakes," Liv says.

"You haven't' made a mistake ," Gerry says that makes her and Fitz chuckle.

"I wish I were perfect but I'm not. I have made have hurt people I never meant to hurt."

"Did they forgive you?" Gerry asks.

"I don't know," Liv smiles knowing that Jake will never forgive her about the abortion.

"You have to talk to your mother about the mistakes she made but I can tell you that she's sorry those mistakes ended up hurting you and your father."

"I don't want a new dad," Gerry announces.

"You don't have to have one," Fitz says. "If you want to have a relationship with your real father, you can. That should be your decision but I hope you still want me to be your dad."

"I'm sorry I made a mistake. I'm sorry I left and made everyone worry about me," Gerry says.

"Honey, we are just happy that you are okay," Liv says.

"Daddy, can I live with you for a while?"

"You and I and your mother need to have a long talk about a lot of things. I would love it if you lived with me but we all need to talk first."

"Okay," Gerry says.

"How about we get dressed and go to breakfast and get you home?" Liv says to Gerry.

"Wherever we go, can we get some pancakes?" Gerry asks.

"I love pancakes," Liv says.

Fitz looks at Gerry, "Gerry, don't be afraid to ask me anything that's on your mind. I know this is all confusing and you have a lot of questions. I love you and I don't want you to be upset. I'll do whatever I have to protect you from that. Okay."

"Okay," Gerry answers as he gets up and goes to the bathroom.

Fitz watches his son until he disappears. "I think he's going to be okay in time."

"I think he will too," Liv answers.

Fitz looks down at her in the awe he does that catches her eye. "You are an amazing doctor."

"What?" Liv laughs.

"The way you explained that to him. I couldn't have done that," Fitz explains.

"You did just fine. You are a great dad Fitz. Don't ever doubt that," Liv says caressing his jawline.

"Come on, let's go get my son some pancakes!" Fitz says as he takes Liv by the hand and they go.
