The last two weeks have been interesting to say the least. Liv and Fitz have had many discussions about her going to work. He wants her to go on leave and she doesn't agree. So, they've been fighting about it. She knows that Fitz is just worried about her but it's driving her crazy. She won the battle but in return he's been hovering. He calls every hour on the hour and when she doesn't pick up, he takes that as a reason to come over. On top of that, she's been keeping longer hours, much to Fitz's dismay.
Liv is sitting with her appointment. Tina and Michael, who are trying to save their marriage after infidelity. The wife was unfaithful, and they are trying to get past it. Liv can see there is so much unsaid between them, "Can you explain what was different about this fight?"
"What he said to me was vicious?" Tina answers.
Liv looks at the husband, "What did you say?"
"Do I have to repeat it?" He asks.
"We need to deal with this, so yes," Liv answers.
He shakes his head. "I told her that maybe talking to me before opening her legs like the 7/11 we wouldn't be where we are."
"Okay," Liv says.
"I should not have said it. I know it was vicious, but I did not mean," Michael continues.
At this point, Tina is crying. Liv addresses him, "It was a vicious thing to say, and you meant to say it. Not to be vicious, but you are hurt. Your feelings come out in our words, no matter how harsh."
"Maybe I deserve it," Tina answers. "I know I deserve it." She corrects as she drops her head in embarrassment.
"No one deserves to be disrespected but we have to be mindful of people's hurt and how it manifests itself," Liv explains. Just then, her phone rings. She looks in the direction of the echo. She knows who it is. "Excuse me, just a moment." She gets up and puts the phone on silent, which she thought she had done. She knows Fitz is going to be angry that she does not answer. She walks back to her chair to face them, "Do you believe him when he says he didn't mean what he said?"
"No, I do not. I feel like he is saying what's in his heart and how he feels about me."
Liv looks at Michael, "Your marriage is not going to survive if you constantly remind her of her indiscretions but ironically, it is not going to survive if you lie about your feelings. Being honest is the healthiest thing you can do."
Tina is now crying. Michael wants to console her, but his pride is so wounded. He can't do it.
"Why are you crying?" Liv asks.
"I feel like he will never be able to love me the same. He will never look at me like he used to. Every time he looks at me, he will see him."
"He was my fucking best friend," Michael erupts. "Of all the dicks out there, you had to go jump on his. Why him?"
Liv notices the grimace on Tina's face and the look on her face reacting to him.
Liv interrupts, "Tina, is this the first time he's asked that question?"
"Yes," she answers softly.
"I don't want you to answer that question right now," Liv inserts. "I want you to…." She is interrupted by a knock on the door. "Excuse me, I apologize." She gets up, opens the door, and walks out, looking at April. "It's Fitz, isn't it?"
"Yes, it is. I told him you were fine and, in a session," April answers.
Liv takes a deep breath and answers, "Fitz."
"I was on my way over there. You didn't answer my call," Fitz answers.
"I am at work. I was in a session. You know that. I am fine and the baby is fine," Liv says haughtily.
"Liv, you had an accident!"
"Two weeks ago, Fitz. I fainted which happens. I am fine. I have to go back to my session. I charge by the hour remember," she reminds him.
"Call me," he says.
"I will see you when I get home," she says cutting him off. "I love you," she finishes and hangs up.
"I tried to tell him," April says with slight laugh.
Liv throws her head back. "I love him. I really do. But I could wring his neck right now." She starts to her door. She turns back, "Don't marry a good man that takes care of you," she jokes.
"I'll remember that!" April laughs as Liv goes back into her office.
Liv notices that the space and silence between Tina and Michael is there strong. "I apologize. That was a little family emergency." She sits down with her notepad, "As I was saying, I don't want you to answer him right now. For the next session, this may be extremely uncomfortable for you Michael. I want you to write down your answer and all the reasons for your answer," she addresses to Tina.
Tina looks up, upset. "That seems like a slap in the face."
"It will be. But he asked you a question that he wants answers to. He deserves the truth," Liv explains.
Tina looks up, with a bit more resolve than before, "I have a question."
"Okay, is this a question for me or for Michael?" Liv asks.
Tina turns to face Michael, "For you."
Tina looks to Olivia for direction. "Ask him."
"Do you still love me?" She asks.
Liv can see he is trying to keep his emotions in check. "Don't answer her right now. You have the same assignment she has. Whatever your answer is, write down the reasons why and we will discuss it next week."
"I can do that," Michael answers.
"I think this exercise will be okay being that right now you are not living under the same roof. You need to focus on the question and the answers without the element of anxiety of being around each other," Liv explains.
They both shake their head in agreement. They finish the session and Liv sits back in her chair finishing her notes. She calls April back in.
"I am sorry I kind of snapped earlier," she says.
"I know you hate to be disturbed unless it's aa real emergency but Mr. Grant…"
"Is charming, persuasive, and commanding. So many things I love about him, but he is driving me crazy right now," Liv finishes.
"He is just worried about you. This is your first baby together," April adds.
"I know he's worried about me. The doctor says t was just a normal reaction added with the stress of having words with Mellie."
"I think he wants a reason to beat her ass," April laughs.
"I know he does."
Just then someone rings the bell outside of the door. April looks at the camera to see who it is. "May I help you?" She asks as she looks at Liv.
"We don't have another appointment for 2 hours right," Liv says.
The voice speaks, "I am here to see Olivia Pope."
Liv knows exactly who it is immediately. What is he doing here? She thinks to herself. "I know who it is." She says to April.
April presses the button to let the voice in. Her eyes raise as she sees the nice-looking guy walk in. Before she can ask him a question he speaks.
"There she is," Curtis says.
"Curtis, what are you doing in Chicago?" Liv asks.
"I had to see my girl since I was here," he answers going toward her. Liv immediately puts a little space between them.
"Don't even think about it charmer. Answer the question," she says.
"I was hoping I could take you to lunch," he answers.
April is watching this little interaction. She can tell when there is a story and there is a story there.
"I shouldn't go to lunch with you at all," Liv responds.
Curtis pouts, "You have to eat. Come on, it is just lunch."
Liv shakes her head, "Fine! I am sure I am going to regret this. But we are only going across the street. I have a session in 2 hours."
"Fine! Fine!" Curtis smirks.
Liv goes in her office and gets her purse. She forgets that her phone is on the desk. "Let's go," she says briskly. She and Curtis go toward the door. She turns again, "You know where to fine me."
April just nods as she watches Curtis let Liv walk in front of him. Her curiosity is at an all time high. Who is this man and what is the story behind them?
Harrison and Fitz are sitting in his office. Fitz is getting Harrison amalgamated with everything. Harrison and Quinn have been settling into their new place. The baby will be there soon, and they wanted to get settled in and they have. Thanks to Fitz and Liv helping them out.
"So, what do you think of Chicago?" Fitz asks.
"We love it so far. You know Quinn is a foodie and she has been enjoying finding all these places to eat. Not to mention loving the condo. The building is pimping," Harrison laughs.
"It is a great building. That's why I picked it. All the amenities and everything else. I could not believe it, the day Liv was checking the building out and I was moving into mine," Fitz smiles.
Harrison can tell that his sister finally found a good guy, "You two are happy. That's good. I can tell you really love Trixie. I won't have to kill you."
"I love her more than anything Harrison. She makes me crazy. I know it is not good to be obsessed with a person but I'm obsessed with her."
"That's okay! That means you will never stop loving her. Look at me, I never thought I would be married with a kid. I wanted to be fly bachelor forever but I don't know, Quinn was different."
"Well, you know my story, with my ex-wife. I knew she was not the one, but I made the bed that I had to lie in. But Livvie, I knew it the day we walked into her office for our first session. I knew it. I tried so hard to fight it, but I couldn't. I could not let her get away."
Harrison hesitates to say what he is about to say but he thinks its important, "You know we talk about everything. She says since we are both married people now, we don't have a choice."
"And she told you how I am driving her crazy," Fitz cuts to chase.
Harrison starts to laugh, "Yes, you are driving her crazy."
"I don't mean to. I just want to protect her from everything. I know I can't, but I want to. She is the woman I shouldn't have started my life and family with. Not that I don't love Gerry and Karen but, she's, my soulmate. She's everything to me."
"My sister is very headstrong and she's very stubborn. And I know that drives folks crazy. Don't worry, she's going to take care of that baby."
Fitz hesitates to say what he is about to say, "Do you think she wants this baby? I know this wasn't the plan right now and after everything with Jake. I just feel like she's not that happy about the baby."
"Listen, she's had a goal for herself that she worked hard to achieve, and she did it early. I don't know that babies were always a goal of hers. I don't think it mattered one way or the other, but she was going to be happy if it happened. I think after Stephen she made different priorities for herself and then Jake. I don't think she's not happy," Harrison answers.
"I just don't want her to feel like she has to do something she doesn't want to do," Fitz further explains.
"She loves you and making a life with you is important to her. Life never goes how you plan. I mean any day now I'll be a dad and God know that wasn't my plan. I got this new job with this great cat that's giving me a chance and a good woman. Sometimes its hard for me to believe."
"You are going to be a great dad, Harrison. You have nothing to worry about."
"And my sister loves you. You have nothing to worry about," Harrison answers.
Fitz gets up and walks over to his large table. "We need to get into what's going on with GM. I want you to help me make this even better than it already is."
"I'm mechanic," Harrison says with a little doubt.
"Which makes you the perfect person to help me with this and something else I am working on. And if you help me with it, I want you to put your name on the patent," Fitz announces.
Harrison looks at him almost dumbfounded. "Are you serious?"
"Of course, I am serious," Fitz answers.
"But it's your idea. It's your work," Harrison answers.
"I have enough money; more is just icing on the cake. This deal with GM has me more than set for life and the thereafter. I want to make sure you and your family is set too," Fitz explains.
"I don't know what to say," Harrison says.
"Just say we are going to make magic," Fitz holds out his hand for a shake.
"Hell yeah! Let's make magic," Harrison says. He can't believe there's people out there willing to help you get ahead. He's more than sure Olivia made the right choice.
"One little thing, I need to fly out on Wednesday and go to a meeting with them. I would like for you to go with me. We can come back on Friday night. I know Quinn is getting close, so if you think that's a problem," Fitz says.
"Two nights should be okay. She and Liv can have some girl bonding time and talk about babies," Harrison suggests. He looks at Fitz with some good-natured joking, "I am surprised you want to leave Liv for a minute."
"Trust me, I don't. But this meeting is especially important. Of course, I am going to annoy the shit out of her, and I'll only be gone 64 hours," Fitz shakes his at himself. Fitz stops, "I am going to tell her about it tonight."
"Damn, she doesn't know."
"It came up this morning. It's very last minute. She might be happy about it. Since I've managed to get on her nerve."
Harrison laughs. He knows his sister can be a mule when it comes to her independence. "She's just vey stubborn. You know that."
Fitz shakes his head, "I just want to take care of her. I just want to…. I love her."
"Liv will be fine," Harrison assures him with a pat on the back. "She loves you very much and she understands. She just didn't have that with Jake. He was more obsessed than in love. And Stephen was taken from her, but he was a good guy.
"What was he like?" Fitz asks. He's never been brave enough to ask Liv. He doesn't want to see her talk about another man that she loved, and he loved her. He knows it's a fairytale to wish he was her one and only. But he was not hers. He knew very little, but he's always wanted to know more.
"Stephen," Harrison answers. "You want to know about Stephen.
"I guess I do, and I guess I don't." He searches for his words, "The sadness in her eyes when someone mentions his name. I guess I want to…"
Harrison gets up, "Hey! She doesn't wish for Stephen in you. She wishes for you. Stephen was perfect English guy. They met in college and fell hard for each other. Nothing was too good for Liv with him, and he put her first. But he's gone."
"I guess I worry about competing with a ghost," Fitz admits.
"You don't have to. She'll always love him but she's madly in love with you," Harrison assures him.
Fitz didn't know it until now that it was weight on his shoulders. "Thank you!"
"And don't worry about Curtis. I know you've met the self-proclaimed bad boy. He was her first, but he was never gonna be her last. You are her last," Harrison explains.
"I sure as hell better be," Fitz says strongly.
Harrison chuckles, "It's all good my man. You got the girl. Now let's get to work."
"Let's get to work," Fitz says as they sit down and look at Fitz sketch pad and start brainstorming ideas. Fitz wants to build a hydraulic system for cars. He hasn't been done before, but Fitz wants to do it. He's pretty sure there's a future in electric vehicles. He wants to be ahead of his time and the game.
Curtis and Liv are having lunch. They are laughing and talking about the good old days. It was always easy for them to talk. Liv has missed his friendship even though it came with a lot of baggage. She knows that Curtis will always wish for what they had but he knows there's no chance.
"I can't believe that Rochelle. The biggest freak of all freaks got married, settled down, and had kids," Curtis says.
"Hey, she wasn't freak she was just…." Liv defends.
"She was a freak," Curtis finishes. He knows he shouldn't say what he is about to say but he's going to say it anyway. "I think she taught you a thing or two."
"I will never admit to that," Liv laughs. Then she stops, "And watch it. Let's not travel that road."
"We are both adults. We can manage a very adult conversation."
Liv lightly smiles, "Yes, we are and yes, we can. But you and I have a history. A sexual history. You were my first and that's a title you'll always have. I am married. I can't travel this with you."
"What's the matter? It's not like we are going to do anything.
"No, we sure aren't." She says as she takes a sip of her lemon water.
"Fine," Curtis says. "Will you allow me to say one thing?"
"Curtis."
"Just let me say it. If I don't say it…" He shakes his head.
Just as he is about to finish his sentence. Corinne and a friend walk in and are being escorted to their table. She notices Liv immediately. She also notices that Liv is sitting with a man that is not Fitz. She notices the comfortableness between Liv and this man. Liv reaches over and touches the guy's hand which sits with Corinne wrong immediately. They take their seats as Corinne is glued to their table.
"Say it," Liv says too him as she pats his hand.
"I should have let all that go when you asked me. I should have just applied for school and went with you, like you asked me. But I had to be hard," he answers.
"That was your life at the time. I was asking you to be something that you weren't. I get it," Liv explains.
"No, you were asking to want something better for myself. Let go of something that wasn't going to lead to anything in the end and you weren't."
Liv smiles at him, "I couldn't ask you to see through the eyes I was seeing through, even though I wanted you to."
"And then came Stephen. I really mess up my chance," he admits.
"You were good to me Curtis. You are a good guy that just had some bad ways. You wanted the fast life. That was attractive to you," she smiles.
"You were way more attractive than the life, but I was an ass."
"You weren't an ass. I just had to give you an ultimatum. After you were shot and I was almost shot, it scared the hell out of me, and I didn't want our story to be a sad one in the end, so I bowed out."
"What's going on with you?" Liv asks. She can tell that something is really bothering him.
"I don't know I guess I needed to talk to a friend, and he shrink," he laughs.
"I am not a shrink. I'm a therapist," Liv corrects.
He rubs his chin, "I guess I needed you to get me straight. You always did that when I fucked up royally."
Liv rolls her eyes, "You were always fucking up."
"That's true," he concedes.
"What do you mean?"
"The same way my wife bowed out like you did." Curtis says sadly.
"What happened there? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
"I was an ass. I was still dabbling in that life and trying to be legit at the same time. It's like oil and water. It doesn't mix and she kept telling me that. I kept fucking up and scaring her and she was worried for the kids. And then…"
"And then what?" Liv says curiously.
"I slipped one time. It was one time."
Liv sat back in her chair. "One time is always enough. Trust goes out of the window and doubt in yourself as a woman."
"I get that. I get it now and she won't even listen. We are legally separated but I know she wants it over, but I know she loves me."
Liv tilts her head to the side, "Do you love her?"
"Yes, I do," he answers defensively.
"Then never give up on her until you have to."
"She won't even listen. She has this whole life right now that I feel like I can never be a part of."
Liv rests her chin her palm. "Is there someone else?"
"There's this guy but I don't know how serious it is."
"Then get off your ass and do something," Liv shrugs as if he should know the answer already.
"What if she doesn't want me?"
"What if she does? What if she is just waiting for you?"
Corinne can't get settled. The comfortable energy she is seeing between Liv and this mystery man as her uncomfortable. Her friend interrupts her thoughts, "Earth to Corinne."
Corinne directs her attention back to Susan, "I'm sorry. Just thought I saw someone I knew."
"Who?" Susan asks.
"I don't think it's them," Corinne waves off, but she is more than curious. "Let's get this charity gala planned."
Curtis sits back in this chair. He can't help but notice Liv's enhanced beauty. He can see that she has a glow about her. "Chicago is treating you nice. You look good."
"I feel good, and Chicago has been exceptionally good to me. It brought me…"
Curtis raises his hand in protest. He doesn't want to hear what she could say next. Which makes Liv through her head back in laughter, "Don't say it. He is good to you. Or, I'll have some of my old friends put a cap in his ass."
"You'll do no such thing. He's very good to us." She can't help but blush at the thought of Fitz. She realizes she slip in her words, wondering if he noticed it. "And you are supposed to be away from that life of capping asses remember."
Curtis smirks lightly, "Us. Who is the us?"
She lets out a breath. She shakes her head. "We are expecting but only Harrison and his wife knows. We are planning to tell the parents together. And you shouldn't even know before them."
"Hey, you have the look Gabriella had when she was pregnant. I noticed that glow," he explains.
Liv touches her face, "Shut up!"
"Listen, I am happy for you. I can tell you are happy. I knew you weren't happy with that other guy. I wanted to kill him. That night you came back to DC, and you cried in my arms. You never told me what was wrong. I just let you cry."
"I shouldn't have run to you. That was so wrong. I shouldn't have called you and you shouldn't have come running," Liv says. You can see the guilt and embarrassment on her face.
"We didn't do anything," Curtis reminds her.
"But we could have, and I shouldn't have called you."
"I am glad you did. We will always be friends. Plus, I don't think I have to worry about you with Fritz."
"Fitz," she throws her head back laughing which Corinne takes notice of both of their expressions.
Curtis laughs back, "Fitz."
"Listen, you must try and work things out with Gabriella. Don't give up on her. There may still be a chance."
"I don't even know where to start," he admits.
"I do and I will get you in touch with someone who can help."
"Thank you," he answers genuinely. "How much do I owe you? First session I guess."
"On the house, except for lunch," she winks.
"Okay," he laughs as they finish up the lunch.
Corinne, meanwhile, is making mental note of this guy her new daughter-in-law is sitting so cozy with.
April gets back to office from her lunch. They have 30 minutes before their next appointment comes in. She gets their folder out, to start prepping things for Olivia. When the phone rings. She rushes over to pick up.
"Dr. Pope's office," she answers out of breath.
"Pope-Grant," Fitz says.
April can't help but blush. He's just charming. "Hello Mr. Grant."
"I know she's sick of me but is she available."
"She went out to lunch with a…lunch," she cuts short. "She should be shortly. She has an appointment for 2."
"Okay," Fitz starts. He grins devilishly. "Can you give her a message for me?"
"Yes sir. Let me get a pad." She goes around the desk, taking a seat getting her pen and paper. "I'm ready."
"And I want this message given to her verbatim," Fitz adds.
"Yes sir," April agrees.
He starts, "I know I can be an overbearing ass sometimes but it's only because I love you more than you. I love you more than anything. You mean everything to me. Please forgive me and understand that I'm going to be an ass as long as I have breath in my body to love you. Please forgive me and please have hot, sweaty, long sex with me tonight." Fitz can't help but chuckle. He knows that April is 4 shades of red right now.
April chokes, "Ummm yes sir." Her face is all flushed.
"Verbatim," Fitz stresses.
"Yes sir," she answers. Fitz hangs up as April can't believe he just asked her to do that, but she knows she has to do it.
Minutes later, Liv walks back into the office, a few minutes ahead of her clients. She looks at April who is typing notes. "I know I was cutting it close."
"You are on time," April laughs.
"Is their folder ready? I have a few minutes to look over the notes. Although I remember their last session and it was intense."
April hands the folder over to her. "Ready to go!" Then she looks at the note from Fitz. "Also, Mr. Grant called. He asked me to take down this message for you."
"Did he ask where I was?" Liv asks as she takes the note from April.
"He did but he said the note was most important," April says with a little fear on her face.
"Thanks," Liv says as she starts going into her office. She feels like she should tell him she had lunch with Curtis, but she knows it's going to just cause an unnecessary argument she doesn't want to have.
She opens the notes and burst out into laughter. April hears the laughter and figures she's read it. "Verbatim," April says shaking her head.
"I'm sorry April," Liv yells from her office.
April shakes her head and keeps working.
The night sky is beautiful and simply perfect for them to sit on their balcony in each other's arms, looking at the stars. The stars seem to shine differently from the penthouse. They hate being at odds with each other, but they love to make up.
"I can't believe you had April to take that note," Liv buries her face in his chest to laugh.
"I had to get my point across," Fitz says innocently.
"You had my secretary write down a note asking if we could have sex tonight," Liv stresses.
"I told her to write it down verbatim. You should keep her. She's good," Fitz says jokingly as Liv playfully hits his shoulder.
Liv sits up, straddles, and turns to straddle him. "You are right, you can be ass sometimes, but I know its because you love me. I know that you want to protect me. That's one of the many things I love about you Mr. Grant."
"You are right. I love you, just like I said. I am obsessed with you. That's the appropriate word. And I do, I just want to protect. If something happened to you or our baby and I wasn't there, I wouldn't know what to do. I'd never forgive myself," Fitz explains.
"Nothing is going to happen to us. We are doing fine. I promise you. I would tell you if something were wrong," Liv says, making sure he is directly looking her.
"How are you feeling?" Fitz asks with a serious look on his face.
"The morning sickness is still kicking my butt. And I learned today that this baby does not like tuna. I had a tuna melt for lunch and that was a colossal mistake," she turns her nose up, shaking her head from side to side.
Fitz has his nose turned up, "Tuna melts are disgusting."
"No, they are not but apparently your child thinks it is," Liv rolls her eyes.
"That's my boy," Fitz says as he rubs her stomach. Liv starts to chuckle. Fitz looks down at her. "What's so funny?"
"Poor April was so embarrassed. Why did you do that to her?"
Fitz can't help but chuckle himself now. "She's no prude. She knows we have sex. I am sure she knows we've had sex in that office. I needed you to hear what I was saying."
"She heard it alright," Liv shakes her head.
"Speaking of nasty tuna. You went out for lunch. You should have called me. I would have taken you out."
Liv's heart drops. She immediately feels guilty even though there's nothing to be guilty about. "That's okay. Just a quick lunch."
"My son is already a picky eater."
She tilts her head to look at him "What if it's a girl?"
"Then I'd be happy," Fitz says quickly as if it's a foregone conclusion.
"This is definitely your baby. It's very stubborn."
He rubs her stomach again, "Mommy is very stubborn too."
She taps the back of her head on his chest, "I am not stubborn. I am just…. stubborn." She laughs as she attempts to get up.
Fitz pulls her back, "And where do you think you are going?"
"We need to think about dinner. As much as I love just sitting here with you. I am hungry for once and I am hoping this baby will let me keep it down," she says as she takes a breath.
Her statement catches him off guard, this baby. "Are you happy about this baby?"
She now turns to him, surprised by the question. She realizes her choice of wording. "It's not that I'm not happy. I'm happy. I am…. I don't know. I just wish we had settled into married life first. But the stork visits when it visits."
He takes her hands into his. He can see the hidden fear in her eyes. The fear that she's trying to hide from him. "Nothing about our relationship has gone textbook. This is the luckiest baby alive to have you as a mother and I'm lucky enough to tag along." He kisses the palm of her hand. "You are going to be a great mother, Livvie. There is so much love inside of you. Sharing with our child is going to be the greatest gift."
"You have more faith in my abilities than I do at the moment," she smiles.
"Because you are a phenomenal woman." He pulls her closer to him. He brings his lips to hers. "Now about those questions."
She tries to play coy. "What question is that?" He starts to unbutton her shirt. She quickly swats his hand away. "Fitz, we can't do that out here."
"Why the hell not? We are in the penthouse. No one is going to see us but the stars."
She playfully rolls her eyes, "That's why I am knocked up. I can't resist you."
He lets out a laugh at her confession. He continues to unbutton her shirt. "Good, because I can't resist you either." He wants to worship her first. He wants to show her how much he loves her and wants her. "Turn around," he instructs. She does as he says. Her back is to him as she looks out into the night sky. The crisp of the air hits her as he slides the shirt down her arm. He begins to kiss up her arm as he brings her bray strap down with his teeth. There's a momentary shiver that escapes her as she her top is now bare for him. He slowly hisses her bare back as he brings his hand around to her breasts as he starts to massage her gently. She falls back on his chest, letting his fingers work its magic.
"Fitz," she utters softly. The sensation never felt so good. Especially now that she's carrying another person.
"Shhh," he whispers in her ear as he sucks on her neck. "Open your legs," he says. It's as if her body has lost all sense of control. He's never been more thankful she wore a skirt. She has a surprise for him as he begins to travel his hand down her legs. He realizes she doesn't have on any panties. She's beginning to moan as he starts grazing her sweet heat softly. He begins to whisper in her ear as his fingers are now inside of her, stroking her slowly. He can feel her wetness. "I love how wet you are for me."
She's now moving her head from side to side as his fingers are embedded in her. "Mmmm, Fitz…Shit! Don't…"
"Don't what? You want me to stop." He asks wickedly, knowing exactly what she wants.
She's breathing heavy and fast. "No…." she drops her head back on his chest. She spreads her legs as wide as they will go. If they had neighbors, they would get quite a show as she begins to ride his fingers.
He now licks down her neckline. "Good, because I had no plans on it." His fingers are coated in her sweet nectar as she rides his fingers harder. "Now would you answer my question." She is breathless at this point and can't think. She would give him anything he wanted right now. "Can I have hot, sweaty, all-night sex with you?"
Before she can answer, her mouth forms into an O and she lets out a guttural but sexy scream as she comes all over his fingers. Her chest is rising and falling. She turns quickly to straddle him, hiking up her skirt. She grabs his glistening fingers, coated with her essence, and takes a taste of herself. The taste of herself and the look of prey in Fitz's eyes turns her own even more. He's never been more turned on in his life. He feels his dick stretching to be free. She reaches down, unbuckling his pants and undoing his zipper. His dick springs up and free. It's standing long and at attention.
Fitz is about to flip her over when she pushes him back down. "Not so fast," she says as she dips her head and takes him in her mouth. She adjusts her mouth around him and begins to suck hard.
Fitz lets out a slow and satisfied, "Fuck…baby." She moans as the sound vibrates his member. "Damn," he says as she massages his tip with her tongue. The sight of her bobbing her head up and down on him with such hunger is making him delirious.
She doesn't know what came over her. He pulls her up, "I need to be inside you." He says, out of breath. He lays her on the blanket. He looks at her beautiful body. He takes her skirt and tears it off. "I love you."
She stretches her hand to stroke his face, "I love you." He slowly eases himself into her and they make love right there on the patio with only the stars watching.
They are now laying on the living room floor in front of a small fire coming from the electric fireplace. Liv is having small pains. But she thinks it's just from the sex. Fitz has been unusually quiet.
"What's on your mind Mr. Grant?"
He pulls her close, "Just thinking how damn sexy my pregnant wife is and wondering how you've been hiding those tongue tricks from me."
She slaps his chest, "I have to have some surprises. Keep you on your toes." She knows him well enough to know something is going on. "What's up?"
"We haven't had dinner," he says.
She gives him a stare, "Fitz!"
"Harrison and I have to go to Detroit on Wednesday morning. We have two all day meetings and Friday we tour some of the floors. Then I am back home to my babies," He squeezes her ass.
"That's why you wanted to have sex first. You want to soften the bad news."
He lifts her chin. Their eyes are meeting each other. "I wanted to make love to my wife because I love her."
She lightly kisses his lips, "I guess we can manage 3 days without you."
"The last thing I want to do is leave you, especially now."
She laughs at his sad face. "Fitz it's your job. I am going to be fine. I am more worried about Quinn. I hope she can hold out until you two get back."
"Don't say that to your brother," Fitz says.
"I won't. I know he is scared to death about becoming a daddy. He's gonna be great."
"Just like you are," Fitz says as he reaches for her stomach, holding it there. He scoots down and kisses her stomach. He starts talking to her stomach which takes Liv by surprise.
"Your mommy and I made you, something incredibly special. Although I feel a little used, she kept jumping my bones." He starts to laugh, waiting for her to reprimand him. "I'm going to love watching you bake in here. I'm gonna wait on your mom, hand and foot."
"And massage them," Liv throws in.
"I may even suck them," Fitz continues.
Liv is now uncontrollably laughing. "Don't talk to our child like that."
Fitz winks at her and turns back to her stomach, "Long story short we can't wait for you." Liv reaches down and kisses the top of his head.
"It's time to feed me daddy. We are hungry," Liv says.
Fitz gets up. Liv enjoys the view of him. "What's your pleasure?"
"Besides you, pancakes." She sits up and winks.
He goes out of the bedroom, yelling back at her. "Pancakes coming right up."
She lays back on her head. She relishes in the reality that her life isn't perfect but it's pretty close to it.
It's Wednesday morning. Fitz and Harrison have left. Liv is about to go to work but she stops and checks in on Quinn.
"Liv did he send you to check on me. He hasn't even been gone 3 hours," Quinn says.
"He asked me to check in but mostly I just want to make sure you don't need anything," Liv explains.
"I don't need anything. You gave us your condo. You and Fitz have made this move so easy. We will never be able to thank you."
"We are family. We look out for each other."
Quinn notices there's a different sparkle about Liv. "You look happy and relaxed."
"I think I am. I don't know why the thought of a baby scared me to death," Liv admits. "Fitz is already an amazing father. He's not Jake. He's loving, caring, and so attentive. I see him with Gerry and Karen. This baby is going to be so lucky.
Quinn sits on the stool in the kitchen. "I understand why you are scared. Hell, I'm scared. I don't know the first thing about being a mother. But we both have good men."
"Yes, we most certainly do," Liv smiles.
Quinn stops for a moment. "Come feel, he's moving."
Liv rushes over, touches her stomach, "Aww! He's gonna be strong."
"It's the weirdest feeling ever but you will love it," Quinn says. Liv smiles. She's going to make an appointment. She's having pains that is scaring her.
Liv is sitting her office, going over some notes. She's waiting for Curtis to come and pick up the list she made for him and Gabriella. Her phone rings and she looks down to see its Corinne. She's surprised its not Fitz for the 100th time.
"Hey Corinne," Liv answers.
"Hello," Corinne answers sharply. There's a tone in her voice that Liv quickly catches on to.
"Are you okay?" Liv asks.
"I'm fine," Corinne answers sharply. "I was trying to reach Fitz."
Liv is taken aback but she decides not to push. "He is in Detroit. He left this morning."
"I guess he forgot to tell me," Corinne says.
"Is everything okay?" Liv asks sincerely. "I'm sure if you call, he will pick up. He has meetings all day today and tomorrow. He's coming back Friday."
"If you talk to him, tell him to call me," Corinne answers quickly and hangs up without saying goodbye. Liv shakes her head. It was a weird call.
There's a ring at the door. She gets up to answer. She knows its Curtis. She opens the door and then doubles over in pain. Curtis quickly reacts, "Liv, what's wrong?"
"I don't know," Liv says in pain. "Something is wrong."
"I better get you to a hospital," Curtis says.
"My purse and my phone are on the desk," she says. "Oh no," she says under her breath as Curtis gets the purse and phone.
He quickly helps her out and to his car and takes her to the hospital. Once they make it to the hospital, Liv was rushed to the back. Curtis is sitting there, trying to figure out what to do. He wonders if he should call Fitz or not. He has her purse and phone. But he knows, Fitz might not like having him call him. But he's worried. He's never seen her face in pain like that and he's worried.
Liv is in the hospital bed, face turned to the window. Her doctor, Dr. Holloway, says her name. "Mrs. Grant." Liv turns her head slowly. "You already know what I am going to say." Liv shakes her head. "I'm so very sorry." Liv just let the tears steadily stream down her face. "Do you want us to send Mr. Price in?"
"No," Liv says softly. "I just need some time alone."
"Okay, we are just going to keep you a couple hours and then we will let you go," the doctor says and then turns to leave.
Liv just thinks about his words. She knew she was losing the baby, but she was holding out hope. It was in the moment she knew it was over that she never wanted the baby more. How is she going to tell Fitz? She finally lets the weight of reality hit her and she sits in her bed and cries.
Just then, Fitz leaves her a message. A little disappointed that she didn't answer. The message simply says, Hey baby. I was just checking on you and the little guy. I miss you. I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight. I guess you are busy. I'll call you when I have another break.
What happens next?
