4. First Day of Hero School
"Deku, you bastard!"
Izuku grunted softly as his back hit a stone wall of the school. After coming to school, Bakugo and Izuku were both called to the counselor's office together to be congratulated for getting into U.A. together. Well, more likely the school just wanted more public attention to get more endorsement knowing their school produced two students entering into heroics.
The whole time Bakugo gave Izuku a death glare that the teacher ignored. Once they left the counselors office, the former forced the latter to the back of the school, which led to this situation. Following his command, Amidamaru sat by and did nothing.
"What dirty goddamn trick did you use to get FIRST in the exam you SHITHEAD!?" Bakugo screamed in Izuku's face.
"I did no such thing."
Bakugo pointed at his face. "Don't play dumb with me! There is no way a nobody with a weak Quirk that allows you to talk to spirits could not only pass the exam but beat me!"
It was the last straw ever since the day he had a quirk things change in truth Bakugou used to use his quirk on Deku when he was diagnosed as being Quirkless. He was a Quirkless loser one day, but when he returned from somewhere he had a strange quirk.
Izuku gave a light shrug. Though, he was worried about Kacchan losing his temper and blasting him through the wall behind him, not caring about the consequences.
"I was supposed to be the first to enter UA from here! Me alone." He said in a low tone. "You ripped my future glory twice to pieces and pissed all over it!"
Something seemed to snap in Izuku from hearing Bakugo's petty reason. The teen grabbed the blond's arm in a hard grip, so hard that it actually made Bakugo wince at how strong it was. "Kacchan, enough. Both of us are going to become heroes, and it's time we move on from this pettiness." Amidamaru looks down on him with a nod, agreeing with every word he said.
"What the fuck did you say Deku?" Bakugo asked in a low tone as he brought his hand close to Izuku's face. He grabbed that hand too.
"Because, like my aunt said," he noted the flinch in his explosive rival's expression, "if we want to show our resolve and skill to become great heroes, we should prove ourselves at U.A. aiming to become number one."
Bakugou just looked at Deku, knowing he was right. It was better to show his prowess at U.A. and showed him that he can beat the nerd. "Fine. I'll show you that you being first is just a fluke," as he left without looking back.
For about five seconds. "Oh yeah. My mom is coming over tonight to celebrate."
"She is?" Izuku asked curiously.
Now he took his leave.
Later that day, Izuku returned home just as the night was covering the country. Inside, he spotted his mother working hard in the kitchen. He also notices an extra pair of shoes by the door.
"Mom," he called out, though she remains focused on her task.
"Izuku, in here sweetie!" Inko pulled over a knife and proceeded to chop onions before adding them to a pot. "Just finishing up dinner. Are the Bakugos coming over tonight?"
"Oh, you knew that," muttered Izuku before he knew it. "Yes, they are."
Inko lowered the heat. "Head to your room right away. You have a guest."
"Oh, that explains that." The boy headed into his room.
Though while he does, he noticed that Amidamaru wasn't around. What was he hiding from?
Izuku opened the door to his bedroom, staring inside at the person sitting on his bed.
"Hello, Izuku." Oh. That's why.
Sitting on his bed was a retired pro heroine, a high-ranking worker of a company called Funbari Holdings, a powerful Itako in her own right, and his aunt; Anna Asakura the 10th. She was statuesque, with long black hair that looked like charcoal, and dressed in a dark purple suit. Also, he never noticed this, but she had big boobs.
His face frozen yet sweating like he's melting, Izuku waved to her. Anna stared with a calm expression. "Congratulations on passing the Entrance Exams with the highest score, Izuku."
"You knew about that?"
"Of course I do," said the woman before standing. "I came by to give you a gift for your victory."
With both hands, she handed him a card. He accepted, reading it as, "This coupon is for a free meal at the Liumang Restaurant in Yokohama Ijincho atop the Heian Tower."
"That coupon gives you and any guests a free meal," she said pointing at it.
"Wow… this is a good place to eat too!" Izuku gasped with excitement at where this place was. "I can bring Itsuka and her dad! And even Yagi!"
Anna continued to stare, before clearing her throat. "Oh, right. Thank you for the gift-"
"No problem, my dear nephew." She patted his head like an owner to a dog, her grip suddenly tightening. "You haven't been slacking on your training, have you?"
"N-No!"
"Because before you are a hero, you are also a shaman." Her fingers pressed harder. "Now, tell me why you're apparently so chummy with AllMight?"
"AllMight?" Sweat poured down his face. "I don't know what you're talking about-"
Her other hand yanked the air, pulling down Amidamaru from thin air. Bond and gagged, Izuku could tell what happened. "Before you try to lie, just know that he told me, everyone. So, you were saying…"
"I'm sorry, Izuku-Dono," Amidamaru spoke in shame even gagged.
'Crap!'
Out in the living room, the Bakugo family entered the apartment. The blond child grumbled as he took his shoes off. "I can't believe we're doing this."
"Be polite, Katsuki," spoke his mother before entering the living room. There, the woman and her husband would come face to face with her.
Anna Asakura passed by them without even acknowledging their presence. Though she did stop before Bakugo, the teenager freezing staring up at her. "…" Speechlessly.
"Oh, hello again there, Bakugo," she spoke, her tone quiet yet menacing. "The Funbari onsen misses your cleansing touch."
"… I bet…" he replied nervously.
The woman then left the apartment. Once the door shut, the boy finally relaxes. 'Why the hell was that monster here?!'
Middle school ended and springtime came in the blink of an eye for Izuku. The Shaman in training was currently at the front door of his home, ready to leave, and finally, enter high school.
Putting aside all of what happened at that place and what he forced to tell his aunt, he focused on the highlight of the day; his first day at U.A. The green hair teen didn't know what class Itsuka was accepted into, but he hoped she was in the same one like him, Class 1-A. He just wanted someone he knew by his side.
"Izuku." The teen looked back to see his mom smiling at him with proud looks on her face.
Inko smiled at her son as she felt tears in her eyes. "You're the first Shaman to enter U.A. right now, and I'm so proud of how far you've come."
Izuku smiled as he opened the door. "See you soon mom. Let's go Amidamaru." He said before he walked out and made his way to U.A.
Izuku rode the train didn't waste any time making it to UA, pure excitement running through his body.
This was all the first step to becoming a hero, this is what 10 years of hell training. This was what He trained for to both a hero and a Shaman well technically hero comes first.
"1-A, 1-A, where is 1-A?" Izuku muttered as he rushed down the hallway not wanted to be late.
After about a few minutes of searching Izuku finally found the 1-A classroom door. It was big, almost twice as tall as Izuku's height and nearly three times as long as his shoulders.
"Must be for people of all sizes," Izuku said as he stared at the door.
"Indeed Izuku-Dono is probably is, " Amidamaru looks at the door size and height. Still, he always questions how humanity has changed when he went to periods of sleep for hundreds of years. Knowing that they evolved as a scientific term says.
But Amidamaru wasn't stupid even if he came from a primitive time, knowing those with power can be corrupted is probably the reason why a school like this are used to teach young people like his master to know how to use their Quirks in a positive way and learn responsibility to wield it.
But Amidamaru can stop this nagging feeling that Heroes are like Icons nothing more than ways to suppress miss use of Quirks and the public from going into a panic. Still, it was his gut feeling only and not concrete evidence to talk to his master for now.
. "I'll be learning alongside the chosen few who passed the exam."
" It also means some of them could be your rival Izuku-Dono"
Nearly 1000 people applied for the U.A. entrance exam, and only about 40 people were taken into the Hero course. The rest who still wished to enter U.A. were put in the General Education course or decided to try their luck in other hero schools.
"I know it's highly unlikely, but I seriously hope Kacchan is put into 1-B..." Izuku thought as he opened the door, only to sigh at what he saw. "It's my luck really that Bad."
" It's kinda a thing Izuku-Dono even my master Yoh-dono also had terrible luck sometimes".
"Don't put your legs on the desk! Don't you think that's disrespectful towards your classmates!?"
"No, as a matter of fact, I don't think so. Which middle school is you from anyway, you two-bit-extra!?"
They're sitting in the front row was Bakugou arguing with the blue hair glasses. The two were arguing with Bakugo saying he was going end, or kill, shocking the glasses teen.
After a second Iida noticed Izuku by the door, as he walked straight towards Izuku and Amidamaru was ready to intervene then unexpectedly and bowing in one motion. "Greetings. My name is-"
"I-I overheard you," Izuku stammered to interrupt him. "Erm…I'm Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you…"
"Izuku…I must acknowledge you for discerning the true nature of the practical exam!" Tenya declared. "I completely misread you! I hate to admit it, but you surpassed me during the test!"
He wasn't even sure how to tell the guy that he hadn't had the foggiest idea he only wanted to help that's all "I also wanted to apologize for my words back during the exams, that equipment the sword that you use was exceptional, I should know that, it was due the stress of the exam I lash out on you "
" It's alright we were a lot of stress for the exam I know how feels so let's just let water under the bridge alright".
" Thank you " Iida then extended his hand to shook.
As Izuku shook Iida's hand the green hair teen noticed all eyes were on him, making him feel like he was being judged again. Izuku could tell the class was sizing him up a bit. But unknown to him and Amidamaru one of the classmates could see the floating spirit and knew who the spirit is.
"Hey, Midoriya, you're here too!"
He turned including the spirit to the door to see Ochako standing behind Izuku with a smile on her face.
Bakugo was glaring at Izuku as he gritted his teeth. The blond still remembered what happened after they were called to the school's counselor together and he still didn't know how Izuku got first instead of him, Rescue Points or not.
But he will prove that he was better than the Nerd.
"I wonder if today's the ceremony? Or is it guidance counselor stuff today?" Ochako said, looking a little nervous. "Oh, and the teacher, what'll they be like? I'm so anxious, like wow! Oh, right you drop this during the exam" as she gives him back a Mortuary Tablet. "I'm surprised that you kept something precious like this to your heart".
Technically it didn't matter if the Tablet was missing as Izuku has a few to replace them for Amidamaru but it was the thought that counts.
Izuku smiled at Ochako and was about to Thank her until someone interrupted him.
"If you're gonna be hunting for buddies, do it elsewhere."
The four turned to look behind Ochako to see something interesting. Down on the floor was a shaggy looking man inside a yellow sleeping bag, looking like a human caterpillar.
"This is the department..." The man took something out of his sleeping bag and started to drink it. "Of Heroics!"
"Who the hell is this guy!?" Was the collective thoughts of everyone in class as Izuku made his way to the desk including others.
"Hmm, it took you children eight seconds to quiet down." The man said as he threw his sleeping bag off. "Life is short kids. You're all lacking in common sense."
"I'm your homeroom teacher, Shouta Aizawa. Pleasure meeting you."
Aizawa pulled out a P.E uniform from his sleeping bag.
"Ware these immediately. And then shove off to the P.E grounds." He said as he started to hand out the P.E uniforms to everybody.
Everyone in the class had a confused look on their face but did as they were told by the pro hero teacher.
"A Quirk Apprehension Test!?" Everyone nearly yelled in confusion.
Everyone in class 1-A stood on the large P.E ground while in their P.E uniforms given to them by Aizawa, which fit everyone perfectly.
"What about the ceremony!? And the guidance counselors meeting!?" Ochako called with a worried look on her face.
At the same time Itsuka and her 1-B classmate were in the hall for the ceremony she was looking around for Izuku who was supposed to be in the 1-A class during the ceremony and the class was nowhere in sight. She could hear her other classmate Monoma cursing the 1-A students or something.
"If you want to be heroes, we don't have time for frilly niceties." The hero said without looking back at Ochako. "You all understand the school's reputation for freedom on campus," Aizawa said while looking back with a scary look in his eye. "Well that 'freedom' goes for us teachers too, so that means." He said, making everyone gulp.
Aizawa went on to explain what the Quirk Apprehension test was. Apparently, it was more simple than most people thought. The 20 students would all do 8 events today, such as
Softball pitch,
Standing long jump,
50-meter dash,
Endurance running,
Grip strength test,
Sustained sideways jumps,
Upper-body exercises,
Seated toe-touch.
All these things were used in middle schools for sporting tests, only nobody could use their quirks so to keep things fair for people, which was hard for people with mutation quirks.
"Bakugo," The hero teacher called the blond's name, grabbing his attention. "How far could you pitch a softball in middle school?"
The blond clicked his teeth, looking annoyed. "67 meters." He said.
Aizawa tossed a softball to Bakugou. "Try using your quirk this time around. As long as you don't exit the circle, anything you do is fine." He said as Bakugou walked into the circle. "Don't hold back." He said, getting a grin out of the blond.
"You got it." He said with a grin as he started to whined up his arm. "Just augment the pitch with some shockwave power! That'll blow everyone away and show who is on top!"
Just as the ball was leaving Bakugo's hand, the blond set off a huge explosion that sent the ball soaring into the distance.
"DIIIEE!" The blond screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Die?" Izuku thought with an eye roll as he rubbed the dust out of his eye.
Amidamaru couldn't believe that it was the blond battle cry
After a few seconds, the device in Aizawa's hands beeped. "Before anything else, one must know what they're capable of." The pro-hero said as he showed what Bakugo's score was, which was 705.2 m. "This is a rational metric that will form the basis of your 'Hero Foundation'."
"Awesome! That looks so fun!"
"705 meters, so unreal!"
"We can really use our quirks now!? That's the department of heroics for you!"
"It looks fun... you say?" Everyone for some reason felt dread at the pro heroes tone of voice right now.
"So you were planning to spend your three years here having a good old time?" Aizawa said as his hair shadowed his eyes. "What happened to become heroes?" When the teacher's eyes landed on everyone, they felt a shiver of dread. "All right then. In that case, the new rule: The student who ranks last in total points will be judged 'Hopeless',"
The next words to leave the man's mouth sent a chill of dread through everyone.
"And instantly expelled."
At that moment Izuku realized, things just got a little harder.
"Our 'freedom means we dispense with students as we please!" Eraserhead said while pulling his hair back, an almost mad grin on his face. "Welcome to... The Department of heroics!"
Can you guess which one of the classmate that can see Amidamaru?
Ijincho is from the game Yakuza like a dragon, I played the game it's a good game great story, and something outside the box with its turn-based RPG style.
Izuku's aunt is similar to Anna as I wanted to imply how she was the type to control and didn't care what matter her family said even if some disapproval as she showed them both usage of her quirks and Shaman skill.
Knowing she was powerful the family just accepted it. And she was the type to be careful knowing everything as knowledge is power.
How Bakugo meet Izuku aunt will be explain in future chapters.
