11. The Aftermath of USJ
A police detective stepped out of a vehicle. This tall man with black hair and eyes dressed in the standard overcoat walked as he counted the numerous villains being sealed away inside of prisoner transport trucks.
"17... 18... 19..."
"It's 20, Detective Tsukauchi-san," Izuku said as he saw a person that he never thought would meet again.
The detective turned around and was surprised to see a very familiar face. "Midoriya, I'm surprised to see you here." It was no secret that Izuku meets the detective before as was present for Midoriya's credibility during an investigation as his ability to communicate with spirits.
At first, he was skeptical about Midoriya's ability to talk to the afterlife; such people who pulled this popular scam were some he dealt with long ago. But time and results proved that he was the real deal.
"I didn't think I would see you here either. Was anyone hurt?" He asked with some concern, as his job as class president.
The detective smiled. "Everyone is accounted for and is relatively unharmed, aside from a few minor injuries."
"That's a relief," he said with a sigh. He then joined his classmates with the detective.
All of Class 1-A were out by the grass discussing their situation on how their first encounter with villains. Ojiro explained how he was alone and had to use hit and run tactics to fight the villains. Hagakure was with Todoroki in the landslide zone as he froze all of his opponents. Todoroki was glad to hear he didn't get her while also complimenting her stealthiness.
Iida stood before the others, thanking them for their efforts in helping him escape to get help before it was too late. Kaminari commented that Snipe saved him while he was with Yaoyorozu and Jirou.
"How's Aizawa sensei?" Tsuyu asked with some concern, grabbing some of the student's attention.
"Aizawa's arm was severally fractured and rotten, he won't be able to use it for a while. He also has a minor concussion and some fractures around his eye, or so I was told." He said while he held his phone.
"Kero..." Tsuyu said in worry as Mineta held his hands together with tears.
Tsukauchi continued with: "Thirteen received broken bones and several lacerations to her back and arms, but she'll pull through. All Might has respiratory issues and some damage, but thanks to Recovery Girl he'll rejuvenate. He'll be watched in the infirmary."
Everyone felt relief hearing that.
That's when everyone in the area heard the sound of the guitar. The Mexican Shaman made his appearance, putting everyone on higher alert as the police and heroes all aimed at the supposed villain.
Peyote Diaz wasn't even fazed. He simply pulled out an item and showed it to the detective. While suspicious, Tsukauchi took the paper and read it carefully, his eyes widening slowly as he reaches the end. "Diplomatic immunity?"
The detective looked up at him. "How did you receive this?"
"I'm with X-Charity." That made his eyes spread wider.
Both Tsukauchi and the adults knew of X-Charity. It was a non-profit organization dedicated to helping others across the world, originating from the paramilitary group known as X-Laws. They now had the same level of authority as Interpol.
It wasn't just diplomatic immunity; Peyote Diaz was protected by international law.
Worried over what could come from this, Tsukauchi returned the sheet of paper to him; as much as he'd like to question him, he was a man of the law. Bakugo just glared at the person who saved him, but he wouldn't thank a villain. If he was with them, he's one of them.
Kirishima wanted to after his little rescue of his bro.
As the Shaman finished his introduction, he moved straight toward Izuku, greeting with dire courtesy. "It's a pleasure meeting you, Asakura Izuku-sama, and you too, Amidamaru."
The samurai scuffed while staring at him. "You haven't changed at all."
Izuku, surprised by the attention and mention, gave a bow out of politeness. "Nice to meet you, sir."
"The pleasure is all mine."
Raising himself, Izuku asked, "Why were you among the villains infiltrating U.A.?"
"It's much easier than going through protocols, and it seemed the best way to see the potential of the one who has gained Hao's interest."
This was shocking. His ancestor was interested in him of all people? "Is there a reason why grandfather does?"
"I'm only following his orders to the latter. He did not tell me why." This was his vague response.
'Of course. He's just as much a fanatic of him as Amidamaru said.' "Does this situation involve X-Charity?"
"No, X-Charity only involves themselves in calamity level threats. This is just dispute of Shamans, which will be handle by Shamans."
"That made sense. Izuku knew that a small dispute like this wouldn't warrant their attention.
Meanwhile, everyone in class 1-A was bewildered seeing their class president casually shooting the breeze with a villain like they were acquaintances. He also seemed to know the detective. What of their spiritual classmate do they not know?
Silent, Iida watched as he recalled certain truths his big brother told him about someone by the name of Midoriya. This made some things make sense. 'So, Midoriya really did assist with those cases Tensei mentioned.'
But now, he had to ask questions. "Midoriya, how do you know this person?"
"I was told of him, and he was told of me," Peyote spoke. "Has anyone here heard of X-Charity?"
The students looked at one another. Yaoyorozu then raised her hand. "They're an organization similar to Interpol."
"As long as we produce results, no one would get in our way."
"But, this is a rather un-"
The shaman held a finger up at Iida, silencing him. "Whatever method we do is our own, child." The speedster felt insulted being called a child before he could retort, and the serious tone he expressed prevented him from giving a response through fear.
"Do not forget; all of those villains you fought were weaklings; street thugs who could be taken down with ease. True villains who have higher mastery of their Quirks and a true embracement of their dark hearts would have put half of you in the hospital. Not to mention the Monster Goliath you stood no chance against would have produced body bags."
Every bit of confidence they felt then dispersed as reality reminded them they only got lucky. This was especially true for Tsuyu and Mineta, both of whom were there when they saw the Nomu wreck Aizawa before their very eyes.
Peyote strummed his guitar. "It's time for me to leave. I'm done with my mission. Now I return to X-Charity and await further orders from my lord." Everyone watched him leave as he played the Flamenco acoustics.
With him gone, Tsukauchi turned back to his partner. "Sacha! You see to the rest!" He had other important things to discuss.
"Affirmative." The cat-man said while saluting.
Tsukauchi nodded before going to Izuku. "Midoriya, seeing as you were the one to fight one of the villains the most, I would like for you to come with me to All Might to give a statement. It would help to identify the assailant."
Nodding, he spoke to his classmates: "I'll see you guys soon!" He then gave a wave before leaving.
As the two left, Tsukauchi was suddenly stopped by another detective who came.
"Detective Tsukauchi, word came in sir! We apprehended the suspect thought to be the villain that attacked USJ. He was found in the building under a large pile of rubble!"
"What's his condition?"
"No external injuries, sir! He's no showing any signs of resistance either... Moreover, he's unresponsive to stimuli. And he's not uttering a single word..." The police said, a little unnerved. As the goliath weapon was strap and cuff like the Joker transferring to Arkham.
Tsukauchi then requested permission, which was immediately given, from Nezu to investigate every crook and nanny of the campus for clues.
"It's nook and cranny," Nezu told him.
"Sorry."
"But please, by all means, conduct yourselves as usual."
"Let's go Midoriya," Tsukauchi said as they started to walk off towards the car. After taking a police car Izuku and Tsukauchi arrived at U.A. and made a b-line for Recovery Girl and All Might.
The students were then told that they'd be escorted back home by the heroes after returning their costumes. Yaoyorozu was the last to go, her eyes on where the police car that took Izuku away one last time.
Once there, Tsukauchi and Izuku opened the door to see All Might in his skeleton form resting on a hospital bed while getting scolded by Recovery Girl again. As Izuku flinched seeing that All Might wasn't buff, the pro hero wasn't scathed.
"Midoriya, Tsukauchi!" Yagi said with a smile as he pushed himself to sit up.
That's when Izuku put it together. "Wait, you know All Might's true form?!"
"Of course I do," The detective spoke like talking about the weather.
"It's alright Midoriya-shonen. Tsukauchi has known quite a while."
"That's assuring." And here he had thought he was keeping secrets.
The two entered the room. "Sorry to be coming at you so suddenly, but I need testimonies from the two of you about the villains, especially the ones that attacked you and the boy."
"Wait, hold on, before we get into that, are all the students okay!?" All Might asked with complete concern. "And Aizawa... Eraserhead and Thirteen!?"
Izuku quickly raised his hands. "All the students are alive and accounted for All Might. No one was seriously injured, the teachers are hurt but it's nothing life-threatening." He said making All Might sigh in relief.
"Thank goodness..."
Tsukauchi smiled at All Might. "You know, if you two hadn't buckled down and fought so bravely then it probably would have been a very different story for the kids." He said, trying to cheer up his friend. Unbeknownst to him, Amidamaru smirked knowing he also helped.
All Might was quiet for a moment before he spoke. "You got it wrong Tsukauchi. The students also fought bravely and gave it their all!" He said before looking to Izuku. "If it wasn't for Midoriya I would very much be dead. Not many high school freshmen have faced such terror, yet all of 1-A have faced the perils of the world of the adults! They showed up those villains for the idiots they are, and the students of 1-A will make fine heroes!" He gave Izuku a thumbs up making him smile.
But Izuku thought of what the Mexican Shaman said, that they only got lucky. He couldn't accept the praise.
Tsukauchi also smiled before he pulled out a pen and notepad. "If you're up for it, I would like for both you and Midoriya to give your testimony, unless you wish to reschedule?"
All Might and Izuku exchanged glances before nodding. "Ask away detective."
Izuku spoke of what he knew about the mysterious person who attacked him out of everyone. While he kept to himself the fact that he was a Shaman, he was unaware of any possibility of whatever Quirk he may possess. He wouldn't have to either, as there were ways of keeping secrets Shaman could do.
As the detective finished he concluded his business, leaving the successor, mentor, and the samurai in the room. All Might wanted to have a chat. "Midoriya-shonen, was that villain that attacked you a Shaman?"
"He was, or she. I couldn't tell, but I know that was a guardian spirit on his side."
"That Guardian spirit is Bason is a former Chinese military general that serves under the Tao Family," Amidamaru explained with a scowl.
This surprised the pro hero. "I thought Shamans kept the balance between two worlds and their involvement with others would be in secret."
Shrugging, Izuku gave his explanation. "Not all of us follow that rule; like how some people use their Quirks for evil or selfish gain, some Shamans believe that it is our right to rule over the world and replace those that lack our abilities. And only a Shaman can handle another Shaman, so that's where organizations like X-Charity come in."
"X-Charity?" Having never heard that word before, Yagi was curious about this group that would handle the supernatural.
"X-Charity," Amidamaru spoke with his arms crossed. "They are tasked with handling Shamans who misuse their abilities and handle calamities that would expose our presence."
There were other groups involved with the Shaman's, but he didn't need to know that.
"So that person who saved young Bakugo was part of this X-Charity?"
"Yup... Peyote is apparently the oldest Shaman alive, having been around long before Quirks." Izuku stated.
"What? But that's impossible! No one can live that long..." He stopped there, remembering there was one other person who could.
"That's because of his God-Class guardian spirit, Santa Muerte the Goddess of Death."
"... what class?"
"Every spirit has its own class All Might. Like me and Amidamru we are Seirei-class or Sacred Souls, the classification for spirits who have existed for 500 years or more and whose souls have shed their physical attachment to achieve their purest form. That includes youkai, for example, a Koropokkuru."
"Is a God-Class much stronger?"
"Exactly; Kami-Class, or God spirits, have the power to destroy a continent, turn a city into dust, bring forth plagues and resurrection, and so forth. To gain one is almost impossible just like One for All, All Might, for trust and lots of Furyoku are required to tame them."
Such information made the Symbol of Peace cringe with some grave fear.
"Santa Muerte is very attached to Peyote Diaz. She wants him alive and lets him stay due to their contract. It's a good thing he's only loyal to one person." Izuku then checked the time. "Well, I better head home All Might. It's getting late and mom's probably worried."
"I understand. Thank you for the info Midoriya-shonen."
As his protégé left, Yagi was sitting there thinking how big the world had become just from meeting this one boy. Essentially, some people could command spirits on the levels of gods. It's a huge secret among others he's keeping, even from the boy himself.
In truth, certain times he would see stranger things during his hero times, but looking back it got real when facing All for One. Near the end of his rope, he felt he saw something that he would believe was a hallucination. Maybe there were spirits there.
But his train of thought lingered to the goddess that he saw with the Talisman. He could feel her tremendous aura just looking at her like she could snuff the life out of anyone instantly. 'I need to tread carefully when dealing with spirits.'
It's been one day since USJ was attacked by villains, and currently, the school was closed. For three days the school would be swept for a villain presence to discover any other hidden objective they had. Also, the security would be bumped up.
All the children were to stay at home or away until the time was done, mostly for recuperating. Obviously, the parents of 1-A's students were worried about what happened as they talked with their children about that matter. Some of them would talk to their family for comfort, others would just do some other activities trying to forget.
Meanwhile, Izuku Midoriya sat in his condominium alone. It was better than the apartment he and his mother had, but still hard to get used to. But that was the least of his problems.
He was looking at his broken Katana with a silent seriousness. It wasn't the first time the weapon broke, from what Amidamaru told him, but it was the first time it broke under his ownership. And the only person who he could ask for help would kill him.
"Amidamaru, is Mosuke-san really the only one who can fix Harusame? Can't we find another blacksmith?"
Amidamaru sighed, knowing that Izuku was only asking out of fear. "It's true. He had no descendants to spread his knowledge to, and the strength of our Oversoul was only at its best using a weapon Mosuke made."
"But, Mosuke's already passed on, and the only way we can get him back..."
"Is to go to an Itako," Amidamaru finished, causing the boy to shiver. "We're going to have to face your fears, Izuku-Dono."
Izuku just sighed knowing this was a problem. This was the first time he was ever so weak. Losing to another Shaman, unable to take down the Nomu, having his sword broken, failing to save All Might; he wouldn't hear the end of this from Anna.
It wasn't just power and skill; it's his weakness in the heart that almost got him killed as well. Izuku was too occupied with All Might's condition. Well, nothing he could do now except facing the music.
Then the doorbell rang Izuku quickly ran towards the door still fearing his aunt's wrath. But instead of who he expected to be there, what he saw through the hole was his vice president Yaoyorozu wearing something casual standing right in front of the door. He quickly opened the door to meet her.
"Oh, it's you, Yaoyorozu," Izuku said, eying the hottest girl in his class. He wasn't expecting to see anyone until school reopened.
Taking in a deep breath, Yaoyorozu said, "Can I come in? We must discuss something of utter importance."
"Sure please come in." The tall, rich girl entered his condominium.
"Please sit down. I prepared tea." He spoke with calm and professionalism. Of course, in his head was that a girl was in his house sitting on the couch.
Watching silently, Amidamaru was a bit taken that a girl of her stature was here for his master.
Momo just looked at the house. It was big and clean nothing unusual, except for the dream catcher, the Tiki masks, a native American Totem, a tribe spear hanging on the wall, a the seven-star tree symbol banner and a shrine. It was too much like a Shaman's abode.
While at the same time preparing tea Izuku's thoughts stuttered. Amidamaru came to him, saying, "Izuku-Dono, you have so many girls on your side. You shouldn't be this bad with them. You're not like this with Kendo."
"That's different... Somehow," he admitted, bringing in the tea to the other room. Hopefully, she didn't hear him speaking to the ghost.
Yaoyorozu took a sip from the cup he poured into. "Mmm. This is delectable."
"Well, it's not much as I was possessed by a tea-loving brew who forced me to make good tea." Izuku took a seat across from her. He had better get to the elephant in the room or else he'll turn into a tomato. "So, how did you know where I lived? And what brings you here?"
"Your aunt gave me your address."
If he was carrying something expensive, now would be the time it broke. Why would his aunt provide a stranger with his address? And why was she so casual mentioning her?!
Yaoyorozu took in a sigh, sipping some more tea with her eyes closed. She then placed the cup on the counter and opened her eyes, saying what needed to be said: "Honestly, I wasn't planning on taking action or even revealing myself until the second semester. That way, we'd get to know each other a little better, and then breaking the news would come a little easier. But, after what happened at USJ I realized that we had to step up everything."
Gulping, the green-haired Shaman could only expect the worst. He hoped deep down that this would be a confession, but there's no way it'd be that simple.
After a few seconds of stalling, Yaoyorozu said it. "To start, we're betrothed."
"... be-what?" At first, he stopped to look at her. He couldn't believe what she said. So in English, he stuttered, "Pardon?"
"That's to be expected," she said with a sigh. "In other words, you and I are to be husband and wife."
"Ehhhhhhhhhhhh!?"
That was the secret as Yaoyorozu Momo is Midoriya Izuku's fiancé you probably wondering why, one it's fun and two it's kinda thing as every Asakura family member would have a fiancé just like Yoh and Hanna so why not. The next chapter would how and why both of them are engaged.
Harusame has been broken many times it's added more before Amidamaru fall to sleep.
I let the chapter say they rested for two days but I'm more surprised that in the manga they didn't give more time to rest as not just allowing students to recuperate from what happened, but making sure that U.A. was well secured from top to bottom. Checking security, building back the damage in USJ.
And the staff discussing the situation and the injured teachers rested as said by the recovery girl.
Then the students did even get a counseling session since it was a traumatic event so why? Even in the animated series young justice had their counseling session with Black Canary in episode Disordered. After the traumatize simulation.
