Scotty and Chekov had been spending a lot of their free time together.

They had recently discovered a 21st century animation call 'RWBY' and they had fallen in love with it.

So much in fact that the two of them had challenged themselves to re-create some of the weapons from the show.

Chekov had chosen to build a copy of Gambol Shroud, which was a katana/cleaver/pistol/kusarigama. (what ever that is)

While Scotty chose to copy a pair of shotgun gauntlets called, Ember Celica.

It hadn't taken the two geniuses long to build their new toys, they were basically identical to the ones in the show.

"All done are we lad?" Asked Scotty as he tightened one last screw.

Chekov nodded, "Yes Sir, think we should give them a test run?"

Scotty slipped the gauntlets onto his wrists, which Chekov assumed was a yes.

Chekov gripped the handle of his creation tightly, before pointing it straight up and pulled the trigger under his thumb.

It shot out of his hand and wrapped around a pipe, thanks to the long strand of ribbon tied to it, Chekov began to swing about.

Scotty smiled happily as he watched the Navigator fly across Engineering, so he decided to try his own creation out.

He suddenly went flying as he was repelled into the air by his gauntlets.

The pair of them were having so much fun flying around, they never noticed Lexie walk in along with Kirk.

"Umm, what are they doing?" Questioned Kirk, Lexie instantly facepalmed.

"I knew they wouldn't listen." Lexie muttered angrily.

Suddenly there was a loud crashing noise, followed by several swear words in both Gaelic and Russian.

Lexie and Kirk quickly hurried over to the source of the noise, to find the Scotsman and the Russian in a heap on the floor.

"That bloody hurt!" Yelled Scotty as he rubbed his head, "You're telling me!" Chekov muttered as he grabbed a hold of his wrist.

Lexie just stood there, her arms crossed as she glared at the pair of them.

"I told you this would be a bad idea, but did you listen? The pair of you only have yourselves to blame for your own stupidity."

She cried, which seemed to make Scotty and Chekov quiver.

"Get yourselves to sick bay and good luck explaining this one to Bones, after that I want to see you in my office." Kirk stated.

Both of the men just nodded before hauling themselves off the floor, then proceeded to walk away, their heads hung low.

Kirk waited before the two officers were out of sight before turning back to face Lexie.

"What did I just witness?" He asked confusedly, Kirk knew Scotty loved to invent things, but this was too strange.

Lexie sighed as she placed a hand on her hip, while the other one hovered in the air.

"The pair of them have been watching 'RWBY' an animation from the 21st century, that's where they got the idea from."

Kirk tilted his head, "What idea? To swing around Engineering?"

Lexie shook her head, "Not exactly that no, the idea to create replicas of the weapons used in the show…"

Once again Lexie sighed, "I told them it was a bad idea, those weapons are dangerous, but they learnt that the hard way."

Kirk hid his ever growing laughter, "This show seems really cool, maybe I should start watching it?"

Lexie removed her hand from her hip and smiled softly at her Captain.

"I recommend it, it's a brilliant show. Just don't try what Scotty and Pavel did? I don't think McCoy would be too impressed."

Kirk quickly put up his hands and waved them about.

"Don't worry Lex, I won't. Come on, let's go and check up on our two acrobats."

Lexie didn't know how true part of that statement was, but she couldn't really argue with him. Kirk was her Captain after all, so they just headed off to sick bay.

Its safe to say that Scotty and Chekov didn't try to build any more weapons, but they still continue to watch the show.
