Midoriya the Shaman

First Event

For the last two weeks everyone in class 1-A, 1-B, and other departments trained for the upcoming Sports Festival. Some trained their quirks, others their bodies and some were already training for the standing ovation once they won, in their dreams. Everyone was going full tilt in their self-training as it's an important event.

Izuku was training in the Asakura mansion that his aunt lived as they have a secret training ground reserve for Shaman as everything around would want to kill you on sight. Youkai, demons, curses that mindless were cage here and his aunt always use it to relieve her stress and training.

His aunt used it to train Izuku against tougher opponents sharping his skills and form of punishment as he has to fight monsters only using Harusame without using oversoul.

Tomorrow would be the day of the sports festival the day he will tell the world that I am here. As of right now he and Amidamaru were at Dagobah beach looking at the sunset clearing his mind and resting for tomorrow. He wasn't going to exhaust himself and use it as an excuse.

"Tomorrow will be the day Izuku-dono."

"Yes, the day that everyone will be rivals aiming to be the top it's kinda exciting and frightening at the same time."

"I understand; it reminds me of Miyamoto Musashi against his rival Sasaki Kojirou at Garyujima it was like a beach like this both of them fought and respect each other as I heard the story.

"But Sasaki Kojirou died."

"Even dead he smiled with satisfaction. So take heed Izuku-dono; all your friends and classmate are your rivals. You cannot let your feelings of friendship cloud your judgments. It will be nothing more than staining their honor."

Listening to this Izuku was more determined as Amidamaru said he will fight he cannot falter as his classmate worked hard for tomorrow's event, not just for their conviction reason on becoming a hero but his dream as well. "Thanks, Amidamaru, and you are right. I won't hold back we will fight towards our dreams." both Shaman and spirit looked at the sunset with determination.

The day finally came for the Sports Festival

Everyone in the entire country came for the event as the entire area was busy as a summer festival.

Especially those like reporters already crowding around looking for All Might and other heroes to interview especially class 1-A as the hero course that survives the villains' attack is not just those vultures attending the event. even heroes also attended the festival.

It broadcasted to the entire world, allowing all at home to watch everything.

In the 1-A waiting room, everyone was currently wearing their PE uniforms and talking among themselves. Everyone had their game faces stern with determination

"Everyone, are your preparations complete!?" Iida shouted as everyone still talked among themselves. "We're set to enter in no time." He said while chopping his hands, though everyone didn't care.

"Man, I wanted to wear my costume," Mina whined as she looked down at her dull PE uniform.

"To keep everything fair, we can't, use our costumes give us an edge with our quirks that the other classes can't have." Ojiro closed the locker.

"If that's the case then why does Midoriya get to use his sword and gloves?" Mina pointed to Izuku inspecting his sword sheath, making sure it's tight and gloves.

The shaman quickly replied. "Outside the hero course, every student is allowed to bring in any supported device and/or weapon into the Sports Festival. However, there are some exceptions for students in the hero course."

"What kind of exceptions?"

Izuku looked around saw a certain student in his class. "Well, a perfect example is Aoyama." He pointed out.

"Me?" The blond said while pointing to himself.

"Aoyama's quirk, 'Navel Laser', needs his belt for it to be powerful and useful. Take that away and his laser becomes less powerful and useful all together." Whatever he said making the blond look down with depression over his face. "But thanks to the belt it turns his quirk super flashy," Izuku quickly fixed the mood.

"Glad you see how great my quirk is Midoriya." Everyone sweatdropped.

"Oh, and we have to sign some paperwork that allows us to use our equipment."

"So we can only have equipment if it lets us use our quirks?" Mina stared down at her shoes. "I guess that's why they allowed me to use my shoes, Also why is there a small plush toy on your shoulder?.

"Oh, this is Amidamaru's new vessel he wanted to have the capability to talk so I made another plush toy." Izuku declared proudly remembering as he was possessed by a sewing hobby spirit.

"It's humiliating but the only I can talk to everyone Ashido-dono"

Iida checked his watch before raising his arm. "Everyone, we have five minutes before the festival starts!"

With that everyone started to go throw their mental preparations. The Shaman took a deep breath and concentrated.

"Midoriya."

"Something up Todoroki?" Izuku turned to his side to see Todoroki look at him with a cold gaze. Technically this was the first time he even talked to him.

The duo-colored hair teen looked at Izuku for a moment before he spoke. "On an objective basis, I think I'm above you in terms of practical strength."

"In a way," Izuku muttered sheepishly knowing the strength between them was obvious.

"You have managed to get All Might's eyes on you, right?" Todoroki said, making Izuku's eyes widen a bit. "I feel no need to pry into that, but..." He looked Izuku dead in the eyes, and Izuku could see his determination. "I'm going to beat you."

"Oho!? What's this, a declaration of war?" Kaminari said, making Bakugo growled as Todoroki pointed Izuku as the real threat.

Kirishima quickly grabbed Todoroki by his shoulder trying to ease the tension. "What's with the sudden belligerence!? Don't spring this on him right before-"

Todoroki brushed off. "I'm not here to play nice or make friends. But whatever."

Izuku stared at Todoroki with determined eyes. "I understand you see me as someone you must beat, and maybe your Quirk is probably the strongest." His Quirk was indeed similar to the Ainu Tribe.

"But everyone and I mean everyone in this school from other departments are aiming for the top with all their might, their resolve, convictions, and dreams. We all got our own goals and dreams driving us, so I'm going for it with everything I got and my honor as a shaman."

Todoroki's eyebrows raised as he realized the word Shaman was something important but didn't care. "….oh"

Bakugo growl as Todoroki was aiming that Izuku was his rival and not him.

"Speaking of the festival!" Iida shouted as he raised his arm. "We should get moving, it's almost time to start!"

Everyone who heard this started to walk out of the room to the stadium.

While everyone was following the class rep, Todoroki tightened his fists while moving. 'I will win the UA Sports Festival. And prove that I don't need his quirk to win.'

A horn went off making everyone turned to the stadium field.

"EVERYBODY LISTEN!" Present Mic announced through the stadium microphone. "The UA Sports Festival where the hero world's inchoate little eggs aim for each other's throats-and the top! Our grand yearly melee! And let me guess, all you miscreants came to see them, right? The freshly-formed miracle stars that shrugged off a mass villain assault with wills of steel!"

"The Department of heroics freshman class!"

"You're here for class 1-A, right!?"

As the pro hero spoke, Izuku's class all walked the main entrance, causing the crowd to cheer for them.

Izuku couldn't help but stuttered as he glanced around the stadium, seeing hundreds of people all cheering for them. And this was only the people present, there were people all over the world watching them, waiting for them to make their entrance. The other students of class 1-A were all nervous but also pumped up.

"Wow, they're really praising us to the sky….I'm getting nervous now. You too Bakubro?"

"No way, wuss."

"And following B, here come classes C, D & E from the department of general education. And now here are classes F, G, and H of the department of support course. And now for finally the department of management I, J, and K!"

"Man, they're treating us like we're just their foil or something." One of the general course students mumbled, feeling that they only exist to make the hero course look better.

"I heard 1-A is the reason we had those pointless sessions from Houndog Sensei."

"I heard they even went on a road trip skipped class."

A moment later, a certain hero walked on stage, and instantly everyone started blushing and was in awe. Those who knew who she is were shocked.

"Time for the player pledge!"

Izuku and Amidamaru were baffled to see Midnight would be in charge of the whole event; Itsuka was also the same as she almost fell, recognizing her as the woman that he met with Izuku that one night. 'So that's why she looked familiar.'

"What is Midnight wearing?" Kirishima asked with a blush on his face, trying to look away but couldn't.

"That's the R-Rated hero for you," Kaminari was drooling.

"Is it okay to be at a high school even though she's R-Rated?" Tokoyami said, the only one appearing not to blush including the shaman and spirit as they got used to it.

"Yes!" Mineta shouted.

Before anyone could say anything, Midnight spoke. "Quiet! My tenure is perfect on the level! Now player rep! "Midnight shouted before looking right at a certain green hair teen. "Representing the students is Izuku Midoriya from class 1-A!" She winked at him.

'Please, nobody notice that.' He blushed, steeling himself by taking a small breath.

"Don't worry Izuku-dono. I'll be here to help." Amidamaru said, giving him a boost in confidence.

"Eh, Deku representing us?" Ochako asked.

"Well, he did place first in the entrance exam, remember?" Sero said, making Bakugo click his teeth with irritation. He wanted to do the speech, and it ended up being Deku.

"Yeah, the heroics entrance exam." A girl from the general education course was annoyed.

As he was walking, his mind flashed back.

Forest Area…

Izuku was 11 years old, training by his aunt brutally. His legs were tied to weights as he walked.

After a bit, he rested. Despite all the danger, he was able to keep going due to his desire to be a hero. To be like All Might. If he couldn't finish this, he'd never pull off being a hero, much less a Shaman. As these thoughts plagued his mind for too long, he ended up asking his aunt.

"Could…" He hesitated. "… could I be a hero even without a Quirk?"

She paused for only a second and slugged him in the eye. As he held himself in pain, Anna spoke, "That's for being an idiot. Whether or not you have a Quirk is not what is necessary for being a hero. Having a heart that cares for others and genuinely wishes to be a hero is often skipped in favor of having a powerful Quirk. Besides, once you complete your training, none of that will matter and you'll be able to prove yourself a proper hero."

The boy looked amazed at the words of wisdom, as well as wincing in pain from being punch in the face. "You think so?"

"Let's try this; you have two accountants, both of which have Quirks. One made her smarter for ten minutes with a two-hour recharge of rest while the other allowed him to eat paper-like food. Who would I choose to employ?"

Taking a minute to think, Izuku asked, "Is it the one with the smartness quirk?" His answer was another punch to the face.

"That Quirk is only useful for ten minutes, and he relied on it too much. Without it, she lacked any knowledge of the job I wanted her to do. On the other hand, the paper eater had knowledge and experience as an accountant." She glared at him. "Do you understand the point of the story?"

"Uh…" She raised her fist again, this time activating her Quirk. "Quirks are just abilities!"

"Correct." She lowered her fist. "Quirks don't replace the skill, knowledge, and experience you earn and work hard for. Even if you weren't a Shaman or you had a Quirk, I would have still trained you to achieve your dream, because I see potential in you."

She got up and approached him. "Izuku, let's say you weren't a Shaman, and that you never had any Asakura heritage or connection. What would you do following the news that you were Quirkless?"

He paused. It was an incredibly difficult question for him to answer. Because in the end, he lacks any sort of answer. "I don't know…"

Anna raised a finger as she spoke with analysis. "Here's a simple version of what I expect; you would just write down heroes and their Quirks because that analyzing thing you do is your only forte, while at the same time not working hard to make up for your lack of a Quirk while feeling sorry for yourself expecting a miracle to happen like words of encouragement from the number one hero All Might."

His mouth opened to deny her accusation as she recalled her breath, but stopped. There was no lie in her theory; ever since he was Quirkless, everything about him changed including his friendships. Would he have waited for something to fall in his lap?

"The world is harsh; miracles don't just happen out of nowhere, and you never trust a silver platter. You may think that just because the world is like an American comic book now that everything functions the same, but they don't. Just having power or even a tragic childhood doesn't mean anything; if you want something, you have to earn it, to make it so everyone can see that Quirks are not the only thing that matters. It's not just you either; there are others with Quirks that the world looks down on even today because they can only see abilities and not people."

She faced nothing. "I already know how much you respect Bakugo for his strength, but even a person like him has flaws. Heroes are not gods; they're just humans gifted with powers that let them do the impossible. For example, if you dig deeper, you'll see that he's an annoying, violent, noisy, hot-blooded cretin. And if they only saw you on the surface, they'd say you are a creepy little crybaby."

It felt like a thousand knives were cutting into him. "As you become a hero, you have to understand this. Not everyone with a scary-looking Quirk should be seen as a villain; like Gang Orca and his appearance making others vote him as one of the most villainous-looking heroes. I try to help these people a lot because of the disastrous society we are a part of."

Izuku removed his hand from the bruise on his face. "So…"

"In summation, Quirks alone are meaningless. Heroes are overrated. You don't need those to be somebody. Hopefully, you understand this."

Flashback over

Once Izuku made it to the stage he was presented a mic. He stared at it facing the stadium with his back to the rest of the students.

In the Asakura manor the head of the family, its members, and the servants and others were crowding around the large flat screen in the lounge. Anna already told them about the sports festival. Many members were thrilled to see Izuku participating.

"My grandson is going to show the world his heritage," said the elder of the family who was watching with interest.

"There's no going back after this." This person who looked like Inko with longer hair was the second daughter of the family Hikari Asakura. Next to her were her guardian spirits Ponchi and Conchi.

"Yes. Many shamans in the world would view this as heresy for using our powers in public, but we also need to change, and I'm excited how he's going to do as a Shaman hero."

"That we agree Otou-sama."

Hokkaido Ainu Village

Every child elder and adult were clamoring around the big hut as the only house with a bigger television. But they didn't expect that Izuku would be given a speech.

One of them resembled Horohoro with shorter hair. "Horo nii-san, it seems Midoriya is going to become a Shaman hero one day."

"We'll see." A guardian spirit appeared next to him. The nature spirit Kororo blushed while watching.

Mountains South of Guizhou named Shouzan...

Ordinarily, the members of the Tao family would consider the Sports Festival a waste of time. Regular muggles suddenly gaining power through a strange mutation or alteration were still beneath many spiritualists such as themselves. But news of a member of one of the three famous Shaman clans participating spread to their ears. Especially the part where they would use their powers in public.

Watching intensively was the CEO of the Leidi Group. His features made him similar to Tao Ren, but with straight silver hair instead. This was Tao Len.

"This a bold move for the Asakura to make."

"It's almost like they want to expose our existence." Another person of the family said.

"Whatever happens everything will change."

"It won't just change; this will bring both positive and negative effects to the Shaman world." They would focus on this for the time being; there was already someone sent to find the thief who pilfered Bason.

X-Charity HQ carrier ship

The members of X-Charity all sat by watching the Sports Festival. Among them was a figure with ugly, more deformed features, a homunculus created by modern science and Shaman arts if you will. This was the leader of X-Charity, the one, and only Marco Lasso.

"So, the rumors are true…" spoke Marco as he stared at the screen. He had always watched with several members due to the newcomers having Quirks also having great interest in this. Even Jeanne, who had died, remained at his side as his friend.

But with the knowledge of an Asakura Shaman joining, he held great intrigue. He also had his descendants watching.

"Whatever happens, we will support love and peace."

XXX

Nura Clan Mansion

The elder of the clan was also watching the sports festival with interest. Along with him were the entire clan, finding some form of entertainment in the Sports Festival akin to a game show for them. The elder and his three wives watched for more than that; Izuku Asakura once again will be the first Shaman to expose his powers.

Patch Tribe Village America

Even the Patch Tribe gained wind of the viridescent Asakura and were watching the Sports Festival from one of their agents. While concerned, it wasn't in the Great Spirit's desire to stop him.

Strangely, one watched with a genuine interest in Izuku. 'Let's see how you do, cousin.'

He looked at the mic for a long minute. Complete silence filled the stadium. After a while, he finally spoke.

"Someone told me that it didn't matter what your Quirk did or if you had one at all; all that mattered was the drive to achieve your dream and ambition. Like me, I have a weak quirk and was rock bottom. It was hard for me to be looked down on by my peers, but here I am.

"We can't just despair and give up as a result. Regardless of your circumstances, you can still reach the top. So don't bother with whether you're a hero course student or general or support. After all, right now I see you all as my rivals." The Shaman pointed at the other courses declaring war.

"Once you reach rock bottom, the only way to go is up, but the bottom doesn't need to be all dark and gloomy. You can't accomplice anything in the darkness. Thank you."

The stadium roared with applause. Even some of the students were cheering at Izuku's speech.

"That was so damn manly!" A familiar silver hair teen shouted with tears in his eyes, as the only person that doesn't hate Midoriya.

"I-I know right?!" Kirishima shouted as he whipped the tears from his eyes.

Izuku returned the microphone to Midnight as he confidently strode back down the stage. Though, that was just a front: 'What in the name of the Great Spirit possessed me to say that!? I should have stuck to the damn script that I practiced for a week!' He's having an internal panics attack, thankfully his expression doesn't hint at it.

"Well said, Izuku-Dono." The samurai was very proud.

"Well done Midoriya! That was a fine speech!" Iida clapped.

"No kidding. Ah! I'm so pumped!" Kaminari grinned widely.

Everyone praised Izuku Midoriya for his speech. They all now felt they had a chance. Even Shinso was impressed. 'That was a nice, motivating speech.'

It wasn't just those in the stadium who were affected by his speech; those who watched the event on their screen were also affected by his speech sending a message. Even All Might could tell this speech was about the Shaman as well as the Quirkless.

"Now, let's get the first game started right away!" declared Midnight as a projection appeared behind her with a slot spinning rapidly. "The first game is what you'd call a qualifier! Every year, many end up in tears! So, for the fateful first game, it'll be... this!" The slot stop for everyone in the stadium look at the words

OBSTACLE COURSE

"It's a race between all 11 classes!" explained Midnight loudly. "It'll be a 4 km course that'll take you around this stadium! Our school's selling point is freedom, well this is what it's all about! You're free to do anything, anything so long as you remain in the course." She then chuckled seductively.

"In other words, we can sabotage other contestants with quirks and it wouldn't be a foul play." It was devious that Amidamaru thought of it, but he still disliked it.

"Now then, take your places, contestants!"

The students immediately gathered around a large red archway that leads into a narrow passage leading to the outside of the stadium. Atop the archway, three glowing signal lights were used to signal the starting countdown like a race car track.

Izuku along with all class 1-A were waiting and ready as Amidamaru entered his ball form. The tension was high as everyone watched the lights go off one by one until it reached the final one.

"START!"

Izuku bolted as soon as Midnight shouted that word, but he wasn't the only one. Despite being closer to the back it didn't take long for Izuku to be crammed in the tight tunnel.

"Okay, here's a play-by-play! Are you ready to do this, Eraserhead?"

"You're the one who forced me here." Aizawa blamed himself for falling for his trick; he's pretty sure it was Nezu's idea to screw him out of fun.

"Let's get this started right away, Eraserhead. What should we pay attention to in the early stage?"

"This part right now."

"Hey, hey!"

XXX

"This is too narrow!"

"Ouch!"

"Hey, move out of the way!"

"Sorry!"

"Hey, who just grabbed my but!?"

"Wait, that's what I'm touching?!"

"How dare you!"

Izuku gritted his teeth as he tried to move through the crowd. With the hallway so narrow and with so many people rushing at once, he needed a new approach. Rallying his thoughts, he jumped on top of the students like a springboard and took a breath. "Ku no kata: Suiryū Shibuki!"

With such speed, Izuku dashed out of the tunnel along with the others. But in a second the entire tunnel was covered in ice, trapping a good portion of the students. Those who knew didn't need to think twice about who was doing it.

But it wasn't enough to stop them. Izuku used his sword as a pillar and struck the ground when he got out then quickly coated it with Oversoul, negating the frost and changing into a board and skate.

"Take this!" Bakugo shouted as he rocked out of the tunnel with his hands exploding.

Izuku quickly glanced around to see he wasn't the only one not caught in Todoroki's ice. Bakugo was flying low thanks to his explosion quirk, Aoyama used his Navel Laser to fly above the ground, Momo used her creation quirk to make a pole to push off the ground, and Kirishima had jumped just in time to dodge the ice.

"Well, obviously some of you in my class were gonna make it past. But more of you were able to dodge that than I thought…"

Mineta threw his grapes onto the ice floor and bounced off them with a surprising amount of agility and speed. Hell, he even did a perfect flip forward before landing on one of his grapes. It didn't take long for the little pervert to become second in the race.

"I've outwitted you, Todoroki!" Mineta shouted while in midair with an evil grin on his face. "How pathetic!" Mineta's hands slowly moved to his head to use his quirk. "Now why don't ya swallow my killer move!"

*WHAM*

Mineta was cut off when something hard slammed into his side, sending him flying.

"Mineta!" Izuku shouted out the teen.

"Well, he did manage to get ahead of everyone."Amidamaru looking at the flying midget.

Everyone stopped before the very same robots from the entrance exam. The once thin trail led to a large field of robots, ranging from 1 pointers to 3 pointers.

"Here comes the Obstacles, and so suddenly and from the very outset. The first barrier will be Robo Inferno!" Present Mic explained as appearing near the center of the big field were a small group of Zero-Pointer robots.

"Aren't those the zero-point villains from the entrance exam!"

"Hold on, you're telling me the dept of heroics had to fight those things?"

"This is what they meant by obstacles!?"

"There are too many to slip past!"

"So this is what they used in the general entrance exam?" Todoroki wasn't deterred. He took a different exam than the others.

"I wonder where they got the money for this?" Momo looking barely fazed.

"Probably from Funbari Holdings as my aunt did fund for U.A."

Suddenly one of the Zero-Pointers moved and started to attack Todoroki with its giant metallic fist.

"If they went through all this trouble, I wish they would've prepared something better." He placed his hand on the ground, freezing it instantly. "My shitty old man is watching."

Throwing his hand forward, a large wall of ice crashed into the Zero-Pointer's fist, stopping it in its tracks and freezing the entire body. Todoroki let out a small breath before running forward between the legs of the robot.

As everyone stared at the frozen robot in shock and awe Amidamaru noticed the slight movements it was making.

"Smart. Todoroki-dono knew how well to use it."

"Between the legs! We can get through!" Someone shouted.

"I wouldn't if I were you," Todoroki called back just as the robot started to break off the ice. "I froze it when it was unbalanced. It'll fall over."

Just as Todoroki said the giant robot fell over, creating a large dust cloud.

"That's Todoroki from class 1-A! He attacked and defended in one hit! How elegant! Amazing! He's the first one through! It's, you know, practically unfair!" Present Mic shouted through the mic.

"His actions are logical and strategic."

"As expected of someone who got in through recommendation! He'd never fought them before, but those Robo Infernos couldn't get past his elite moves!"

"Hey! Someone's trapped underneath!" Someone shouted in worry.

"Wouldn't that kill them?"

"Will people die at this sort's festival!?"

"Like I'd die!" Kirishima shouted while using his hardening quirk.

"Kirishima from class 1-A was underneath! That's crazy!"

Kirishima let out a sigh before glaring ahead. "That bastard, Todoroki! He timed it on purpose so it'd land right in our way. If it hadn't been me, someone would've died!"

Suddenly another hole burst in the robot started to form not far from Kirishima, grabbing his attention.

"That class A is filled with bastards!" A second later a familiar teen from class B bust through, though this time his skin was silver but had similar to Kirishima's sharp teeth.

"It seems someone from class 1-B was also underneath! That's crazy!"

Tetsu let out a sigh before glaring ahead. "If it hadn't been me, someone would've died!"

Kirishima takes off running as a trail of tears leaks from his eyes. "Our Quirks are the same! How am I supposed to stand out now?!"

"Man I'm jealous….those two never have to worry about getting crushed since they can break through easily"

"For now let's temporarily combine our efforts to open up the way "

Others made their way over the hulking titans, such as Bakugo using his explosions to propel himself. 'No way I'm letting icy-hot beat me.'

With expert aerial acrobatics, he evaded a massive punch from the robot before soaring past the goliath's head.

"Class 1-A's Bakugo is rocketing over the obstacles! Clever!"

"It is rather surprising to see him purposefully avoiding a fight, but perhaps he's just keeping his eye on the true prize," Aizawa commented.

Tokoyami and Sero followed behind him using their respective Quirks to scale over the metal menace.

"Amida-Ryū: Shinkū Budda Giri!"

As the trio was passing the zero pointer, out of nowhere beat a sound like a metal screech. It then slid vertically to the left including the others. When they glanced back they saw their class president was the one that destroyed the other remaining Zero pointer.

Everyone was slack-jawed similar seeing Todoroki quirk in action, but seeing Midoriya take it down with style was more impressive. Momo had tried to make a cannon but now didn't need to.

"Impressive our samurai kid just slash the zero pointers robot and that is something to be impressed by. I should know. I watch period dramas."

"If Todoroki is like a blizzard that freezes everything Midoriya will be the wind that slices anything in its path," Aizawa spoke with intrigue.

"Hey, Hey! The first barriers were a piece of cake? Then what about the second?"

When Izuku reached the second stage he stopped head in his tracks with his eyes wide, along with a dozen other students.

"If you fall, you're out! If you don't want to fall, then crawl! It's The Fall!"

A large field was just a giant pit, with giant stone columns connected by steel ropes.

"When did they build this stage?" Ochako asked with a shocked look along with others.

"Tsu?" Mina asked with some confusion before Tsuyu jumped onto one of the steel wires.

Tsuyu landed perfectly on the rope before she started to climb across. "Kero, this is like a glorified tight rope."

"She's fast!" Mina shouted in shock.

Izuku already got an idea seeing the remaining frost from the tight rope as he quickly used his Oversoul board and slid like a skateboard on a rail.

"Wow, Deku is skateboarding!" Ochako said in a shocked tone as the green-haired Shaman was already halfway across.

"More like snowboarding." Mina was impressed.

"I thought him how to do that" Horohoro declared proudly around everyone. Good times. "Whenever he came to visit to expand his knowledge of the Shaman community, he didn't waste time joining me to learn how to snowboard."

"Stop flaunting, Horohoro!" spoke someone as she drank their famous Marimo wine.

"Deku!" Izuku glanced back to see Bakugo flying his way, a mad grin on his face. "Get out of my way!" He blasted past the Shaman, his explosions shaking the rope greatly. Izuku quickly leaped onto the columns, almost losing his balance, and continued.

A thrilling cackle echoed from behind Ochaco and Mina. "Yes. Finally." Mei Hatsume's goggles shined in the light. "This is my chance to show off what I can do."

All across her form, she's wearing an assortment of support items and gear from metallic shoes, strange devices hooked to her belt, and of course her steampunk goggles.

"My support items are going to steal the spotlight from these wannabe heroes. Everyone!" She threw her hands out in a dramatic fashion. "Observe what my brilliant gadgets can do! The Wire Arrow and Hover Soles!"

"The department of support course."

"What you can take equipment into the race?"

Hatsume smiled eagerly, more than happy to explain. "The students in the hero course get all kinds of combat training for their Quirks. To keep things fair, we're allowed to bring whatever gadgets and costumes we want into the games so long as we developed them ourselves."

She then steps forward. "So, keep watching me!" Her wire arrows fired out and pierced into one of the pillars. Her hover shoes launched her forward, her laughter expelling as she jumped the trench without a care in the world. Pressing a button the wire reeled back as she went onto the side of the pillar. "Please stare! At my super cute babies!"

"Damn stupid equality," grumbled the pink-skinned teen.

"Interesting," Shinso smirked creepily, watching the students of Class 1-A make their way across. "Heh."

Izuku was already closing in on the exit of the second barrier, though already many students were reaching him thanks to their quirks. Todoroki was the one still in the lead.

"A Lot of different people are working hard for their chance, huh, Eraserhead?"

"What are you idiots stopping for?" Aizawa said in an annoyed tone.

When Izuku stood on the pillar he noticed Todoroki had finally reached the end of the second barrier, using his ice to skate across the ropes. The Shaman also noticed that Bakugo was closing in on the ice user fast thanks to his explosion quirk.

"And now, the leading of the pack is easily getting through first!"

Todoroki glanced back as he ran, seeing Bakugo flying through the air and Midoriya sliding on the tight rope.

"Looks like he's getting fired up. A slow starter? Or anger?" He thought before picking up the pace. "And Midoriya is following from behind as his quirk is versatile."

"Damn it!" Bakugo yelled before he let off a second explosion, looking at the Shaman who wasn't far from him.

The shaman arrived and quickly followed them.

Looking back again, Izuku saw more and more students were getting the courage to cross the pit, some even passed him thanks to their quirks, such as Aoyama with his Naval Laser, or Shouji transforming his arms into wings.

"It's probably safe to say, that my brother is watching I can't let him see me be lame!" said Iida as he T-posed his way on a tightrope, using his engines to push himself forward. It's still lame.

"The lead pack is a step ahead, but below them, everyone's clumped together! They haven't announced how many people will make it thought, so you can't relax! Push forward!"

Izuku finally reached the end of the obstacles with a good number of students following behind him.

The stadium is full of chatter as the screen displayed the skillfulness of each student, especially those in the lead. Many of the pro heroes in attendance take notice of them especially.

"The dude in first place is so far ahead. Not even that kid who gave the speech is keeping up."

"His Quirk is really powerful, but it's his natural athletic talent and keen judgment keeping him ahead."

"I'm not surprised. Don't you know who his father is? The Flame Hero, Endeavor!" This got people whispering.

"Wait, for real?!"

"That guy's second only to All Might himself."

"Everyone'll be fighting to have him as a sidekick for sure."

"'Don't judge just yet; the kid that gave that speech is an Asakura." Even more, people started talking.

"Asakura? As in Anna Itako Asakura of Funbari Holdings Asakura?!"

"Yes, and strong like her too. Look at him go!"

"This strong, taught by that former pro, and engaged to a Yaoyorozu; he's got a future!"

"We have to see how this goes."

Toshinori could hear them all talking above him. Of course, hearing his apprentice was engaged to someone was a blood-coughing shock. If Midoriya didn't tell him then that's his secret; he didn't need to pry. It's still a surprise that a timid boy like him is engaged.

And he has to agree, but this Sports Festival was only just beginning. Anything could happen.

The aforementioned Itako was sitting and watching the event with other U.A. staff members including Thirteen and Snipe; memories of when she once performed resurfaced in her mind.

"So what brings you here to watch?" Thirteen asked her curiously.

"To scout for potential, obviously," was her reply.

"What do you think of the event?"

"It's mild," she snapped in all honesty. "Even the obstacles you all rigged are tame. Moving through a horde of villains and taking them down is one thing, but in a realistic setting there would be other heroes and cops to force the students into controlling their Quirks."

"That sounds hard."

"You could also put spikes in the pitfalls for motivation."

"And death," was Thirteen's retort.

"Fake spikes."

"And what of the final obstacle?"

"Add tear gas to it or something with a foul smell."

Snipe, All Might and others who heard this sweated in fear how devious she was.

Thirteen then said, "So you're also here to nitpick."

"Maybe," she glared, smiling deviously. "I'd also make the failures do the race again."

'Scary!' were the thoughts of U.A. staff.

It didn't take Izuku long to find himself at the second barrier, followed by a bunch of other students.

"And now, we've quickly arrived at the final barrier! The reality here is... that it's a Minefield!" announced Present Mic, "Careful where you step folks, for its danger everywhere! Welcome to the minefield, straight out from the old Rambo movies! It's set up that if you look carefully, you can see where the landmines are placed! Strain your eyes and your feet! By the way, the landmines are set up so they're not lethal, but they're still flashy and powerful enough to knock a stool or two loose!"

"That would depend on the said person," mumbled Aizawa.

With so many landmines everywhere, Todoroki has been reduced to a fast walk instead of a run. 'Very clever. Those in the lead are actually at a disadvantage here.' He kept his balance despite the explosions in the background knowing some fool trigger it. 'Guess it makes for good entertainment.'

A different kind of explosion roared out from behind him. He spotted Bakugo flying at him at full speed with a wicked grin.

"Hahaha. It's over, ya two-haired bastard!" He bellowed as one final blast pushed him past Todoroki. "You made that fucking declaration to the wrong man, and I'll show you why!"He aimed to blast Todoroki, who avoided him.

"Just like that, a new student takes the lead!" shouts Present Mic.

They could hear the audience from there; it's a complete uproar now that Bakugo, the random nobody that can somehow reach their level, had caught up to Todoroki.

"The media here is going crazy! There's nothing they crave more than an upset!" And judging from Present Mic's voice he loved it too. "Why, even those who are trailing behind are putting on spurts."

While those two duked it out, other students have taken advantage to catch up.

"Can our two leading racers fight each other and stay in front of the competition?!" Todoroki grabbed Bakugo's arm partly freezing it but the blonde shook him off before he could do too much damage.

Todoroki deflected Bakugo's hand as they moved while also avoiding landmines.

"Can our two leading fight each other and stay in front of the competition?!"

"You just said that," replied Aizawa in annoyance.

Out of nowhere, the Shaman kid took the lead passing both of them without batting an eye.

"What's this? Izuku Midoriya has just passed both Bakugo and Todoroki instantly!"

Expertly using his Oversoul board, he glided across the minefield without touching the ground. It was even faster than the explosions.

No longer concerned with beating each other, the two focused on their new threat. Todoroki made an ice path in front of him and sprinted forward. He didn't do it at first because it would give a path for the others behind him, but right now that didn't matter. Bakugo, meanwhile, blasted forward screaming Deku's name.

"Deku don't you dare go ahead of me!"

"Look at this plot twist!" shouts Present Mic. "Those two aren't fighting anymore! They're chasing Midoriya! That's what having a common enemy will do in this competition! This fight is still far from over, though!"

"The hell are you talking about?" Aizawa was annoyed, but he also was in suspense.

"Amidamaru, are you ready?"

"I am!" Without warning, Izuku lowered the board to the ground allowing his oversoul to touch the landmine as it exploded behind his trail. This caused both Bakugo and Todoroki to be caught in the chain reaction explosion. With it, Izuku used the board like a spring and leaped even further into the clearing. He added flips and tricks like in a skateboard video game.

"Now that's an entrance! In no time at all Midoriya blew dust in their eyes! And now he cleared the landmine entirely." Present Mic continued, before turning to Aizawa. "Just what are you teaching them!?"

"I didn't do anything. Each of them is powered by their own drive to succeed," replied Shota as he stared at the finish line.

"U.A Sports Festival First Year everyone," screamed Present Mic, snapping his attention back to the finish line.

"Don't ignore me!" growled Shota in annoyance.

"Who would have predicted the outcome when the trial began, "The man, who has returned to the stadium in triumph is none other than…" shouted Present Mic as the audience eagerly awaited the first contestant to arrive. The audience saw a blur with messy green hair passing through the finish line.

"Izuku Midoriya!"

Izuku slammed his foot down on the Oversoul as it skid but due to the momentum and not being used to more than 75% Oversoul usage, he also fell.

Back outside the stadium, Death Arms heard the announcement and decided to see just who it was out of curiosity, catching the name since it was very easily discernible due to Present Mic screaming into his microphone. His eyes widened when just saw a familiar boy.

"Wait… isn't that the kid from the accident a year ago?" he said, remembering the green-haired boy who defeated the so-called sludge villain easily.

"Izuku Midoriya, huh?" mused Kamui Woods as he looked up to the screen, "I knew he'd be here. And now we have a name to send the offer to."

Mt. Lady, who was currently distracted and posing for her ravenous fans, didn't notice who won first place.

"Oi, don't go off posing in your own world!" snapped Death Arms, stomping to Mt. Lady, "Pay attention to your damn patrol! You can pose during your off-hours, not work hours, and especially not during the Sports Festival event. We're security for a reason!"

Mt. Lady ended up being dragged away by Death Arms as she heard rumors of the boy even among heroes.

"IZUKU!" cried out Inko in happiness as tears splashed out of her eyes like a fountain. Her son won the first event after all.

"There, there," chuckled Anna as she held out some tissues for her dear little sister to wipe away once they drizzled out.

In a small private room, Tomura Shigaraki was on his computer watching the Sports Festival on one screen while another screen displayed nothing but the words Sound Only.

"That Samurai Brat," the crusted villain growled as he began to viciously scratch his neck.

All for One, who was listening to the broadcast, merely hummed as he mused through his mind.

Inside the teacher's booth, All Might was clapping slowly along with the rest of the teachers, but couldn't help but shake with excitement and pride as he looked down at the young Shaman.

"This Sports festival is a competition where they have to aim for the top, even if it means defeating their friends and classmates. Modern heroes depend a lot on their popularity, so they need to have that desire to be above all others. At your core, you are a hero whose desire is to save lives and help others. That is what I saw in you that day a year ago, and that day changed my life. I was worried that may also be your one weakness, your desire to help others may outshine your desire to win, but I guess it was for naught."

All Might then clapped his hands together with a smile on his face. He's also glad Anna wasn't there to see him make speculation.

"What do you think?"

"First of all, Midoriya's stocks were already high thanks to him being the student representative. They only climbed faster thanks to him coming first in the obstacle race," Someone with glasses said while analyzing the boy.

"However, despite clearly being skilled in many areas, his quirk is powerful and versatile which makes it hard to predict how far he will go," A dark hair teen said with swirls on his cheek said. "If you took on the management of his agency, how would you market him? Options?"

"His appearance is out," Glasses said while tilting his head. "Despite the green hair and freckles, he's relatively normal in appearance. Almost like an eternal child."

"But during the time he cut down the Zero pointer was impressive."

"He's clearly particular about his skills and swordsmanship. We could highlight those parts. Also, we can use the fact that he is a modern samurai to our advantage."

"How so?"

"One thing everyone respects are samurais and ninjas nowadays."

"I heard he has a connection with the Ceo of Funbari Holdings. With an influential company like that, there are bound to be waves of support coming his way."

The business, or management course, were classes used to train students in the art of business. Because heroes nowadays need popularity to survive, hero agencies needed a skilled manager to handle the hero's popularity and advise them on how to gain more attention. The hero business was very cutthroat; heroes fight for attention to get higher pay from the government for equipment and livelihood.

Most of the students of the Business Course had no desire to be heroes, so when the race started most either chose to just step aside or just run to the first course to show their support for the Sports Festival, turn back, and then quit. Hell, most didn't even compete; there was just no merit in participation. Instead, they just used it to relax or engage in business simulations or selling items for some extra cash. Quite a few of them were going around the audience selling various food items and other things.

Just above the three students was All Might, looking down with an amused smile. "The business course! They never change, huh?" All Might thought with a laugh as he sat back in his chair. "Don't rest just yet Midoriya-shonen; your endeavor is far from finished."

Izuku started to catch his breath as he noticed more and more people were exiting the tunnel. He sheathed Harusame as Amidamaru returned to his ball mode.

"We did it Izuku-dono." Izuku smiled to himself.

"And done, they're finishing one after another! We'll make a list of results later, but for now, good work!"

"Again, shit dammit!" Bakugo was frustrated knowing the nerd beat him again. Even worse, Deku did it without any trouble. Now he's left clutching his arms, trying to stop them from shaking from over-usage.

Shoto looked calm while staring at Midoriya, merely held in his silence as he plotted what to do next round.

Slowly but surely, the rest of the students started to come. Each one had taken Shoto's ice path that he had conveniently left while chasing after the Shaman.

"Deku-kun! You were amazing! Congrats on the first place!" cheered Ochako joyfully, despite wishing she could have done better.

"Indeed, congratulations are in order," Itsuka decided to talk to her friend.

"Ahh. To think I'd place so low with a quirk like mine," mumbled Tenya in depression. He's clearly disappointed he didn't come first despite having a speed base quirk in which is embarrassing.

They watched the rest of their classmates run past the finish line. Momo, who looked exhausted with her shirt open revealing her sports bra, stepped in. What really caught everyone's attention was the little pervert Mineta clinging to Momo's backside with his grapes. The little teen had a huge bruise on his cheek and had blood running down his nose; whether it was from the hit from the robot or arousal nobody knew.

"This isn't how it was supposed to…" The poor girl was too exhausted to finish her sentence.

Mineta laughed at victory as he still hugged Momo's body. "I killed two birds with one stone!" he shouted in victory as if he won the race. "I'm a genius!"

"You're the worst!" Momo yelled at the short teen as she tried to shake him off. But he wasn't gonna give.

Annoyed, Izuku got up to do something. He was going to anyway, considering they were engaged so he's responsible for looking after her. "Mineta let go of Mo- Yaoyorozu right now. You're being a bother."

"No!" Mineta cried in agony as he reached for Momo, who stepped back with a shiver while being pulled away. "Let me hold her a little longer, let me at least feel her che-"

"You do know my aunt is watching, right?" That got him to shut up. He quickly released her and ran away.

Momo sighed before turning to Izuku. "Thank you Iz-er, Midoriya. Now I can finally rest." The girl said with a smile just before she fell to the ground. It was great that he came to her rescue, so much so she couldn't help but swoon.

After another five minutes of waiting it wasn't long before every person came through the race. Everyone soon gathered together again and stood in front of Midnight. After about another five minutes of waiting it wasn't long before every person came through the race. Everyone soon gathered together again and stood in front of Midnight.

"The first game of the first year stage is finally over. Now to take a look at the results!"

On the holo-screen were the top 42 students to complete the obstacle course.

1st: Midoriya Izuku, who was still nervous being stared at

2nd: Todoroki Shoto who was just scowling

3rd: Bakugo Katsuki looked pissed knowing he was in third place

4th: Shiozaki Ibara looked indifferent

5th: Honenuki Juuzou was also indifferent

6th: Iida Tenya was scowling like Bakugo knowing he was neither first nor second.

7th: Tokoyami Fumikage felt very well prepared

8th Sero Hanta was shocked seeing he was in eighth place

9th Kirishima Eijirou was a bit sad as he was next to Tetsutetsu

10 Tetsetetsu tetsutetsu just growled that he wasn't first

And so forth, going all the way to Yuga Aoyama who was at placed 42nd and currently clutching his stomach in pain.

"The top 42 will have the right to advanced on to the next round. It is unfortunate for those who couldn't make it, but don't worry! There will be a special event later on where anybody can showcase their skills to the audience that'll take place before the main event!"

In other words, it was a consolation prize event.

While she finished that statement, she licked her lips in excitement, causing a shiver of excitement in those watching her. "And now, for the post preliminaries, the final selection! From here on out, even the press corps will teem in a white heat of excitement, so go all out!"

Almost all the students in the top 42 looked up eagerly waiting for some event that would give their quirks an advantage. Midnight swiped her whip back to the projection with the slot speeding through once more.

"Now then, onto today's heart-pounding event! I already know what it is, but the suspense is killing me! Now, what could it be? What could it be? Well, I'll tell you!"

HUMAN CAVALRY BATTLE.

"Ugh. Cavalry Battle? I'm not so good at that," voiced Denki while thinking of his Quirk.

"It's not an individual event, so I wonder how that'll work," wondered Tsuyu.

Mineta was very excited for reasons pretty much known to everyone.

"Let me explain!" continued Midnight, turning to the projection, where it changed to reveal Thirteen and Present Mic carrying All Might. Snipe was also in the projection.

"Strange and awkward example." Amidamaru was looking at the screen and thought it weird seeing All Might piggyback by U.A, staff.

"Participants can form teams of two to four people as they wish. It's basically the same as a regular cavalry battle. Except, everyone will receive points based on the results of the last game, which is a summary of the points each person has been assigned."

"If it's anything like the entrance exam points system then it be easy to understand," mused Sato.

"In other words, each team is worth a different amount of points depending on who's on the team!" hypothesized Ochako.

"Ah, I see!" exclaimed Mina as she caught on to what was going on.

"So, whoever has the most points depends on who wanted them to join," said Kendo as she looked around knowing everyone was already picking their group.

Midnight violently swiped her whips towards the ones talking, "Don't say what I was planning to say before I say it! Let me speak, or it's detention! Though I don't mind if the boys want to come."

Sighing, she turned to the board. "But yes, that's right. The number of points you're worth will be 5 points if you placed 42nd, 41st 10 points, and so on. You can look up the board to see your own value."

'Sounds simple enough,' thought Izuku as he looked towards 1st place to see his own name there, 'If my math is right, I should be worth... 210 points!'

However, when he took a look at his name, all he saw were question marks next to his name. He checked the others but they already have points.

"However, this doesn't apply to first place. He gets a whopping Ten million!" announced Midnight. As soon as she announced this, the question marks next to his name changed to reflect what she had said.

Izuku had to blink a few times, rubbing his eyes and ears to make sure what he saw and heard wasn't a joke. After pinching himself, he checked once more to see that indeed, he had a value of ten million points next to his name.

"If I were you I'd aim the guy who placed first. This is a chance for the lower leveled to supplant the high! Welcome to our survival game."

'Shit just got real.' Izuku gulped as his eyes widened like dinner saucers. As he expected from a quick look around, everyone's eyes were on him now, with blood lust and greed in them.

He could easily see what they were all thinking; he'd become more like an ultra-rare shining Pokemon. When they say the higher you climb the faster you fall, this was the moment he finally understood.

Amidamaru could only sigh, how his master's luck was, but he couldn't stop grinning at the excitement he felt. It was nostalgic.

It's finally here the chapter everyone wanted to read this is the first event the next chapter would be the second event.

As Izuku using his Shaman powers there would be consequences as ever Shaman community is watching and like those with quirks would dislike using shamans powers like some kind of entertainment.

Then theirs everyone pespective on how the famous Asakura would do and outcome of the festival. If your wandering why a random guy knew about the engagement is because Corporation and companies would know as they have eyes and ears on their rivals no matter big or small or even a rumors they would know , as they would think ways to surpass such competition especially those with the most popular and well known.

some example can be watched and read in manga and anime Kengan Ashura.
