Lexie walked past one of the rec-rooms while on her way to Scotty's office, when she saw two familiar officers sitting at a table.

So she decided to pop in and say hi, the officers in question were Pavel and Delta. Who appeared to be playing 3d chess.

"Hey guys, am I disturbing your game?" Lexie asked as she saw Delta deep in thought, clearly it was his move.

Pavel looked up from the board and smiled softly at her, "Not at all Lexie, you wanna join us?" He asked sweetly.

Lexie gently shook her head, "I would love to Pavel, but I'm still on shift. I only popped in to say hi."

Delta then moved one of the pieces, "Your move Pavel." The little robot said, it was then when he noticed his creator.

"Oh, hi there Lex. Sorry, didn't see you walk in." Delta said as he flew up and hovered in front of her face.

"It's alright Delta, you were concentrating on what move to play. The two of you been playing long?"

Both Pavel and Delta had to think for a moment, how long had they been playing? "About three hours I think." Replied Pavel.

Lexie just switched between her two friends, "Three hours, how many games have you played?" "Just this one." Delta said.

The Engineer was amazed, "Wow that's a long game, I best get going before Scotty starts worrying. See you two later."

The Navigator and the robot simply waved goodbye since they had returned to focusing on their game.

Lexie's shift lasted another four hours, mainly because she had to convince Keenser to come down from the ceiling. Again.

She was walking back past the same rec-room as earlier and was shocked at what she saw, still sat there was Pavel and Delta.

Slightly confused, Lexie stepped in. "Please tell me you're at least playing a new game?" She asked, despite knowing the answer.

Chekov shook his head, "Nope, still the same game." Lexie just stared at them. They had been playing for seven hours.

"Maybe you two should call it a night, it's late. You can pick the game up tomorrow." Lexie suggested, but no one responded.

Knowing full well she wasn't going to get a reply, Lexie chose to go find someone who they would definitely listen too.

And that person was Kirk, he was their Captain after all so they really had no choice but to listen to him.

Lexie wandered onto the bridge to find Kirk sitting in the command chair as normal, Spock standing next to him.

"Hello Lexie, up for a late walk about?" Kirk asked, "Not exactly, I need your help Kirk." Lexie said with a small smile.

Kirk leaned forward in his chair, "Sure Lex, with what?" "Pavel and Delta, they've spent the last seven hours playing chess."

Both Kirk and Spock were confused, "That's not a problem Lieutenant." Stated Spock, one of his eye brows was slightly raised.

"It is when they've only played one game." Lexie added, that seemed to catch Kirk's attention. The two of them must be tired.

"Bloody hell, alright take me to them Lex. Let's see if we can't convince them to go to bed and continue their game tomorrow."

Lexie smiled as she and Kirk walked off the bridge and headed down the ships halls.

"I came by during my shift and I popped back afterwards to find them still playing, they're too competitive sometimes."

Lexie said as they came to the rec-room doors, "Like you and Sulu when the two of you are fencing." Kirk said with a chuckle.

"I should have seen that coming." Lexie replied with a smile as they entered the room, only to stop dead in the door way.

"Are they… Sleeping?" Asked Lexie quietly as they walked over to the table where the two officers were sat. Well, more or less.

Kirk smiled softly as he tried to contain his laughter, "I think they are Lex, clearly they have tired themselves out."

"Playing chess? That's a new one to me." Lexie said, "Lets get them to bed, before they wake up and continue playing."

Kirk stated as he scooped the young Navigator up in his arms gently, Lexie nodded before doing the same to Delta.

The little robot opened his eyes for a moment, "Sshh Delta, go back to sleep." Lexie said softly as she rubbed his head.

Delta slowly closed his eyes once more, while he muttered. "I love you Lex." Which made Lexie blush.

"That was so dam cute." Whispered Kirk, "He does that often in his sleep." Lexie replied as they left the rec-room.

The next morning Pavel and Delta went straight back to playing their game, after getting a talking to from Lexie and Kirk.

They were told that they could play chess, just not for seven hours straight. Especially just on one game.
