Ever since McCoy had taken the nerf guns, the off duty officers of the command crew had to find a new way to pass the time.

Which resulted in them playing a game of hide and seek, with only a few rules, Mainly to keep grumpy McCoy happy.

Engineering was off limits, so was the bridge along with sick bay. And no hiding in dangerous places, that was the main one.

They had drawn straws to see who would be the seeker first, which didn't take long since Scotty got the short one instantly.

He had been told to count to one hundred before coming to find them, that seemed long enough for them all to hide.

When he started counting everyone bolted. The players were: Kirk, Chekov, Delta, and Lexie.

Lexie had headed straight for the cargo bay, hoping to hide among all of the crates which she knew were in there.

She sprinted in and was thankful that there were no other officers around, at least she wouldn't get questioned.

Lexie hurried over to a huge cluster of crates, hoping to find the perfect hiding spot.

Somewhere large enough for her to fit comfortably since she didn't know how long it would take Scotty to find her.

But she needed somewhere small enough to not look suspicious, as she didn't want to make it too easy for him.

It didn't take her long to find a suitable spot between two crates, all she had to do was move another one to gain entry.

Lexie began to pull the crate out of the way, but it was much heavier than she originally thought.

"Maybe I should work out a bit more?" She muttered to herself as she fought with the crate.

Suddenly she lost her grip of the crate, causing her to stumble backwards. She knocked into an open crate and tumbled inside.

Lexie had just enough time to compute what she had done to see the lid of the crate quickly slam shut, there was a loud click.

"You've got to be kidding me?!" Lexie muttered as she tried to open the lid, only to find it was now locked. "Just my luck."

After several minutes of trying to force the lid open, Lexie admitted defeat. She would just have to wait for Scotty to find her.

So she just laid there, in complete darkness. "I wish I had brought my communicator with me." Lexie muttered sadly.

She didn't have claustrophobia, but this wasn't a very nice situation to be in. Lexie could feel her heart beating faster.

"Hey, some body! Let me out of here!" Lexie yelled at the top of her lungs as she banged on the lid, but no one came.

Several hours past and still no one had found Lexie, who was really debating just falling asleep while she waited.

Lexie wished she was able to move, even a little since her legs were cramping as she wasn't really that comfortable.

"I should have chosen to just hide in one of the cleaning closets, at least I couldn't get locked inside them."

She muttered angrily to herself as she wiped a drop of sweat from her forehead, it was warm in the crate. Very warm.

"I bloody hope their looking for me, I don't want to spend the night in here." Whimpered Lexie.

Just then and much to Lexie's delight she heard someone yell out her name, their accent was so lovely to hear. It was Scotty.

Her eyes instantly widened, "Scotty! I'm in here!" Lexie cried as she banged frantically on the lid of her make shift tomb.

"Where's here?!" Another voice cried with a thick Russian accent, clearly Scotty had found everyone else. Lexie sighed loudly.

"Over here, I don't know! All I can tell ya is that I'm locked inside one of these bloody crates!" She yelled angrily.

Lexie waited several minutes before something knocked loudly on the lid of her tomb, which scared the hell out of her.

"Bloody hell! You trying to give me a heart attack!" Lexie roared angrily as she banged back on the lid aggressively.

"Sorry lass, didn't know which crate you were in." Scotty's voice said, Lexie's anger melted away. "It's ok, please get me out."

It wasn't long until the lid was flung open, causing Lexie to be temporarily blinded by the bright light. "You alright Lex?"

Once Lexie's eyes adjusted she saw Scotty smiling down at her, "I'm ok, thanks." Scotty helped her out of the crate.

"Why did you hide in there?" Kirk asked, "I didn't mean to, I fell into it since it was open then the lid shut and it locked."

Scotty marched her down to sick bay to get a look over from McCoy, while she got a stern talking to from the CMO and CEO.

Afterwards a new rule of 'hide and seek' was added, 'No hiding in lockable crates.' Which everyone followed.
