Kirk had decided to pay a visit to Lexie on her day off, he hadn't really had a chance to spent much time with her recently.

He knocked lightly on the door and entered when a voice called him in, but nothing would have prepared him for what he saw.

"Umm, what are you building?" He asked, Lexie had what could only be described as a skateboard resting on her lap.

"Oh hi Kirk, it's one of my hover boards. You like it?" Lexie asked as she held up her creation. Kirk just blinked.

"That's amazing, wait… Did you say it's 'one' of your hover boards?" Lexie nodded, "Yeah, I have two. Wanna go on one?"

Kirk nodded his head quickly, Lexie couldn't help but chuckle. Her Captain's childish side was showing, more than normal.

"Please!" Lexie smiled as she handed her Captain the board she was working on, before reaching over and grabbing the other.

"So, how do these things work?" Kirk questioned, Lexie pressed a button on her board and placed it on the floor.

Kirk did the same, "It's simple, lean forwards on one foot to go forwards and do the opposite to go back. Watch me."

Lexie hopped onto the board and began to zoom around her room, "You try." Kirk smiled. It looked simple enough.

It didn't take Kirk long at all to get the hang of using his new toy, "This is awesome!" He cried, Lexie chuckled.

"Wanna race around the deck? They do need a good test run." Lexie asked while tightening up her shoe lace.

Kirk's face seemed to light up, "Thought you would never ask, let's get this started."

Lexie nodded, "Hey Delta, wanna come and start this race for us?" Her digital companion nodded as he flew up next to her.

The two officers stepped out into the hallway, along with Delta who was holding a checkered flag.

"So, it's one lap around the deck. First one to get back here wins, OK?" Delta stated. Kirk and Lexie nodded.

They both jumped onto their boards and waited for Delta to start their race. This was going to be so dam cool and fun.

"On your marks. Get set. GO!" Delta cried, almost simultaneously Lexie and Kirk took off like bullets from a gun.

"Bloody hell these things are fast!" Kirk told himself as he darted around the corner, right behind Lexie.

"Come on Kirk, you ain't even making this a race!" Lexie yelled as she drifted around another corner.

"Oh you want a race, I'll give ya a race." Kirk called back, as he past her. "On ya left!"

"See ya at the finish line Lex, when I win." Kirk called smugly, "Oh it is so on!" Lexie called, leaning forwards more.

Delta was waiting at the finish line (aka Lexie's quarters) for the two racers, when someone called out his name.

It was McCoy, if he saw what Kirk and Lexie were doing he would go absolutely mental.

"Hey there Delta, you ain't seen Jim around have you?" McCoy asked, Delta gulped quietly. This wasn't going to go well.

"Umm, hi Doctor…" McCoy crossed his arms and just stared at the hovering robot, he knew something was up.

"What are you up to? You never call me 'Doctor' anymore." But Delta didn't reply, "Delta, where's Jim and Lexie?"

It was at that moment that McCoy heard two very familiar voices yelling down the hall way, so he turned to see.

Racing down the hall was Lexie and Kirk, who weren't looking where they were going so hadn't seen the Doctor.

Kirk turned and almost fell off his hover board at the sight of the CMO standing there, "Oh no…" He muttered.

There wasn't enough time for anyone to do anything. CRASH! Lexie and Kirk slammed straight into McCoy.

The three officers ended up in a heap on the floor, "What the hell are you two playing at?!" McCoy yelled angrily.

"Just testing out my hover boards McCoy." Replied Lexie, rubbing her head. "And you're testing my patience!" McCoy growled.

"Come on Bones, no one got hurt." Kirk said, that wasn't a smart move. "I don't care, hand them over, Now!"

Kirk and Lexie handed over their hover boards, heads hung low. "You should be ashamed of yourselves! Now get to sick bay."

Still with their heads hung low, the pair took themselves off to sick bay while McCoy turned and faced Delta.

"Since you're not a human I can't hypo you, consider yourself lucky." Delta slowly nodded. McCoy gave Kirk a right telling off.

While Scotty did the same with Lexie. He was less mad than the Doctor and a little jealous that he didn't get to have a go.
