Since this is a redemption fanfic, I thought I had to follow some lines of the original show most of the time. But then I realized, this is my fanfic and I can do what I want. So some stuff will be from the canon like challenges, but most of the character lines won't. Some will, like the ones I like, but not all.

I had just woken up from my nap. If you're wondering why I was napping, I'll keep it simple. Night challenge, planning against Mal, and eating something call turkey bunnellini. Don't know why but I was knocked out when I got back to the cabin after eating that.

Anyway, I remembered that this episode would have a night challenge, so resting was probably a good thing. Stepping out the cabin I found the rest of the team (minus Mike) sitting and eating what looks like mud. My compliments to the chef.

"Hey Duncan, we got you an extra bowl of food if you." Cameron told me sitting next to Lindsay holding an extra bowl of slop.

"Thanks mini Einstein." I took one spoon full and immediately spit it out.

"This is like the worst gruel I've ever tasted. I'm going to wash my mouth out." I stated heading to the mess hall. Once I got there I made sure Chef wasn't there before going into the kitchen.

I grabbed a glass and got some water from the sink and drank it. When suddenly.

"Greetings Duncan."

"GAH!" I yelled quickly turning around in a fighting pose. There i saw a girl standing there. She was pretty short. Maybe just taller than Cameron. She had blond hair, pale skin similar to Gwen, and wore a green sweater.

"Do not be alarmed. My name is Dawn."

"Oh, hey. Didn't you compete last season?"

"Indeed. I was actually invited to compete this season, but was busy at the time so I turned the offer down." Wow, so she was supposed to compete as well. Wait, she turned down the offer?! The first time around me and Gwen tried to do that but to no anvil. Dam you Chris.

"So what are you doing here?"

"Chris had me come and cameo for the challenge. He also has someone else, but I'm not sure where they are at the moment."

"Oh ok. So you can read uhh, auras right? How exactly does that work?"

"Well, it allows me to communicate with animals, and see into a person's past and feelings. It doesn't reveal anything deeper than that though. Like if you were a tine traveler I wouldn't be able to know." Phew, well that's one thing I don't have to worry about. "That's interesting."

"Yes, would you like me to read yours?" She asked. And I agreed. I was curious to see just how this works.

"I see that even though you care about your bad boy status, you also have a heart of gold. You care deeply about your friends and want what's best for them." Wow, just wow.

"Heart of gold? Really?"

"Yes. There are some things that even you don't know about yourself, but will learn along the journey. That's as much as I can tell you."

"Huh, well I'm not too sure I understand what you said, but I think I'm following." Maybe.

"That's just fine. I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually." I was about to ask something else, but Chris's voice came on the announcements. Why does that sound like I'm in school?

"Attention all stars, please report to the cabins for your night challenge." I really hate that voice.

"Well, it looks like you best be off. I'll see you in a bit."

"Ok, see ya." I started to walk out before Dawn called back to me.

"Oh and Duncan, let's keep this encounter between us. Nobody was really supposed to see me before the challenge starts." Dawn told me with a wink. I winked back with a thumbs up as I walked out towards the cabins.

When I got there, there was a lot of dust clouds. When it cleared I saw a helicopter dropping a scratched up Scott, and Courtney checking on him.

"Good evening campers. I have some good news. Tonight's challenge is going to be very dangerous."

"Umm.. how is that good news." My girlfriend asked.

"Entertainment value, hellooo?" This is going to be ratings gold." Our egotistic host said rubbing his hands. Chef than brought out a tv screen. " As a knock off of season 4's night challenge, your challenge is to race to the far end of the island. First team to get EVERY member across the finish line wins. And the losing team will voting someone off to take the big flush."

"What's the catch?" I asked folding my arms.

"I'll tell you in a sec. But first I have another announcement. Taking Scott's suggestion in the last challenge, we're having to cameos this episode to help. So please a warm welcome to new Total Drama classic competitor and old Total Drama classic competitor, DAWN and LESHAWNA!" Oh so Leshawna was the other cameo.

Leshawna then walked up to us, but I didn't see Dawn.

"Hey y'all how's it going?" The labeled "sister with tude" greeted to us.

"Hey Leshawna. Great to see you." Gwen greeted her long time friend hugging her.

"You too gurl."

"Oh great, big loud and proud is back." The queen bee sneered.

"And if it ain't the spoiled wicked witch of the upper east side." Leshawna bit back.

"Uhh Chef, where's Dawn?" Chris asked Chef as he shrugged.

"I'm right here."

"GAH!" We y'all yelped turning around. We saw Dawn innocently standing behind us with her hands behind her back.

"When di-, how di-, where did you come from?!" Chris asked slightly shaken.

"I've been here the whole time." Can she turn invisible too?

"Riight. Anywho, these two will be your temporary teammates for this challenge. Dawn will be on the heroes and Leshawna will be a villain."

"And why am I put on the same team as Heather?" Something tells me Leshawna isn't going to enjoy this challenge. Then again, who would?

"Dissing the others in season two is a good reason. That and having you and Heather on the same team would be fun to watch. Maybe you'll knock some more teeth out."

"Ugh, whatever. Atleast I'm with my gurl Gwen." Atleast she's staying positive. Then Dawn walked up to us.

"Greetings everyone. It's nice to either see you again, or meet you."

"Hi, nice to meet you Dawm." Yep, same ol Lindsay.

"It's Dawn Lindsay. Nice to meet you too witchy." I said winking at her which she returned. I'm pretty sure that went unnoticed.

"Greetings Zoey, Mike, and Cameron. Nice to see you guys again."

"You too Dawn."

"Ok, now that the hellos are over, the catch. To night is a blue harvest moon. And the light from the moon has an interesting effects on the animals here. Oh and heroes, since you lost the last challenge, you'll be wearing this bacon hats and sausage tails." Dammit, I was hoping he'd forget. "Now that that's done, the challenge starts NOW." He blew the air horn as we all started running.

We're about 2 minutes into the challenge and so far so good. While running I overheard Cameron telling Mike that Zoey saw him trip Cameron and broke his glasses. Wow that just sounded like teenage gossip I hate so much.

"Hey look, the moon." Lindsay pointed as we all stopped and looked at the moon. Needless to say, it was blue.

"It's beautiful." Zoey said starring at the moon. Soon a blue light blasted from the moon. There was a squirrel in front of us, and when the light touched it, it started growling at us.

"Uhh, nice squirrel." Zoey tried to ease the squirrel. And I don't think it worked.

"Oh my god! The moon must turn animals into their opposites." Dawn said in a fearful voice.

"Can't you talk to them or something." I asked hoping she'd say she can.

"The moon's energy is blocking it's aura. I can't communicate with it." Dang it.

"So if normally harmless animals are acting aggressive, then normally aggressive animals must be acting quite harmless." Cameron stated like it wasn't obvious.

I looked over at Mike and saw him gasp when the moon hit him. His hair flipped over his eye. Mal. Zoey looked over at him and immediately he flipped his hair back up. But I can still see dark circles under his eyes.

Confessional

"Well, now I know how to tell Mal from Mike."

End of confessional

Some birds have all started going after Lindsay and Cameron causing them to run away. Then some birds were coming after me as I ducked under one.

"Woah, that's it I'm outta here." I said in SLIGHT, fear.

I've been running for about 5 minutes before stopping to catch my breath. "Man, never thought I'd find myself running from birds. Now to find my way to the finish line." If there's anything I've learned from muskrat boys, it's that if you're lost, just aimlessly wonder around till you find where you're going.

...

Well, that's what I did.

...

Whatever, I'm still doing it.

Let's see thing to do once the show is over.

1. Try to get in contact with Geoff and DJ.

2. Put up an electric fence whenever there's a blue moon.

3. Wright a colorful worded letter to the Muskrat Boys leader about what to do when getting lost.

4. Throw Chris in the lake like the first season.

Can't wait to do that last one. I've been walking for a good 15 minutes and so far all I've come across was a crocodile wagging it's tail like a dog. Weird how that's not the weirdest thing I've seen on this island alone. Cough cough, dolphin driving a food truck.

"Man this is pretty easy so far. Wonder how the others are doing." I don't exactly remember much on what the others were doing at the time. I hardly remember what I was doing at the time. Wait, I hear something. It sounds like, MAL

Hiding behind a tree I see Mal talking to a bird about causing chaos. That can't be good. This is where I make my swift get away thanks to my mad sneaking skills.

Wait, did I just say mad sneaking skills.

5. Hunt Harold down and punch him.

I think Mal must have heard me walking away because that same bird he was holding is now chasing me.

"Yikes, stupid bird!" Who new birds were this fast. This thing won't stop biting down on the long sausage.

...

I meant the sausage tail Chris had us wear.

...

Don't give me that look, you all are just dirty minded.

...

Ugh whatever. Wait, now I hear screaming. And I know that scream anywhere. Looking ahead I see Gwen running from some squirrels. Like they weren't already evil.

Thinking quickly, of what I did the first time around, I whipped out the sausages (really gotta watch my wording) and yelled out at Gwen.

"Gwen! Duck!" I through the sausage tail with the bird still on it towards the squirrels as they all stopped chasing Gwen and went for the bait.

"Phew, that was close. Thanks Duncan." She said finally in a non angry or annoyed kind of way to me.

"No problem babe. Wanna stick together till we get to the finish line. That way I can look out for you."

"Uhh thanks for the offer but I don't think Courtney would want to see us together. Uhh and the other villains." She quickly said that last part. I guess it's valid though. I mean, I don't wanna end up like Trent.

"Ok if you say so. Be careful." I told her waving as we she waved back and walked away. Welp, time to start heading towards the finish.

Man where is that finish line. I've been walking for about 5 minutes after seeing Gwen and I'm already getting bored. That and I was chased by a groundhog for a bit before losing it. Wait, I hear something else. Man I'm hearing a lot tonight.

Looking ahead i see Dawn on the ground backed up against a tree with a bunch of rabbits around her. She looked more scared than earlier.

"No, please. I just wish to help you!" That only fell on to deaf ears as the rabbits only growled at her.

"Shit!" Thinking quickly, again, I took off my bacon hat a throw it over the rabbits before they could jump on her. They saw the hat and chased after it and away from Dawn.

"Hey, are you ok?" I asked walking up and kneeling down to her. She looked up to me and before I can blink, she wrapped her arms around me and softly cried on my shoulder. I'm not use to handling crying girls, but I have enough common sense to hug her back and allow her to let it all out.

We stayed this way for about a minute before she spoke.

"Thank you. I was so scared, I couldn't help them." She really sounds scared.

"Hey it's ok. They'll be back to normal soon."

She still held on to me so I didn't move and decided to be patient until she feels better.

"I'm useless." She suddenly said out of nowhere.

"What do you mean." I asked in confusion. Man this is really starting to sound like a book huh? Anyway she let go and started talking again.

"I'm useless without my abilities. I couldn't help the animals, talk to them, I couldn't even fend for myself. I couldn't do anything." I'd never admit this aloud, but it breaks my heart to see her like this. Yep, never saying that out loud.

"You're not useless. That's actually how the rest of us are. We can't just talk to the animals and sense them like you do. You just aren't use to not being able to use your powers." Feels like I'm trying to cheer up a superhero.

"We're not all perfect you know. We can't all solve every problem we come across. Just because you couldn't do something doesn't mean you're useless. I mean, no one else can do the things you can, you're just confused and not use to it. Good things will come from bad things. You'll get your abilities back when the sun comes up. And until then, you can stick with me in case we run into anything else." Woah, did that all come out of me? I think I'm getting better at this whole consoling thing.

I looked at her and slowly the her frown turned into a small smile and she hugged me again, tighter than before. She's strong for her size that's for sure.

"Thank you Duncan. I really needed to here that. You truly do have a heart of gold." Ok, maybe a little karat heart of gold.

"No problem Dawn." I told her as the hug ended.

"Now come on, let's get to the finish line.

We've been running for another 10 minutes and soon we've caught up with the rest of the team.

"Duncan, Dawn, there you guys are." Zoey said as we all continued running.

"We were worried about you guys." Lindsay told us.

"We're fine, now let's get to the finish." I told the team as we all continued running.

"Look, the finish line." Cameron pointed out. Sure enough, there was the finish line.

"Oh no, the villains are already there." Zoey said

"But Courtney amd Gwen aren't" "Mike" said. But that still got me worried enough.

"Where are they? Wait, is that a deer." I said looking over at Gwen holding a deer back protecting Courtney. Forgot that happened.

"It looks like they can handle it. Come on we still have a chance." Mal told us as we all started running faster. While we were running, I noticed the moon was going down The deer suddenly went from Izzy psycho to DJ harmless.

"Look, I think the moon curse is over." I said as we neared the finish. We crosses it before Gwen and Courtney, but we noticed Mal just standing before the finish line looking confused. I think he turned back to Mike when the moon went away.

"Mike, hurry!" Zoey shouted, but it was no use. Gwen and Courtney made it to the finish line.

"And the Villainous Vultures win! Again." Chris announced, as if we didn't already know.

"So close." Lindsay moaned.

The elimination ceremony will take place tonight, so you basically have a free day before someone goes home. Leshawna and Dawn, you can stick around till elimination.

"Well I don't know about you all but I'm going for a nap." I announced walking back to the campgrounds and to the cabin.

"Ahhh that was a goodish sleep." I said to myself stretching. I went outside and found Scott walking nearby.

"Hey farmer boy." I called to him walking next to him.

"Hey man. How was your night challenge?" He asked as we entered the mess hall. I told him all that happened with me last night during the challenge. Except for Mal, I want to tell him at the right time. When I was done he told me about his night. I was laughing when he told me he was being taken down by a gang of bunnies, ran across a rope bridge screaming, had his butt chewed by beavers, and Leshawna and Alejandro freaking out over Heather acting like she was being affected by the moon. Sounds like his night was mire eventful than mine. Soon after he was done talking, and I was done laughing, Dawn had came and walked up to us.

"Hey Dawn, wassup."

"Hi Duncan. I got a letter from someone telling me to meet them here. Was it from you?"

"No, wasn't me."

"Uh, actually it was from me." We both turned our heads to see that it was Scott who said that.

"Oh, well what did you want to tell me Scott?"

"Well, I wanna apologize for getting you eliminated last season. And for being an all around jerk. I've also wanted to apologize to the others from our season but I was still to afraid to face them, and since you were only here for the day I decided to muster up and try to apologize to you first. I know I made a lot of mistakes last season but I'm trying to better myself." He finished looking as sheepish as he looked when he started.

"It's true, he has." I said trying to back him up.

I knew Dawn didn't like Scott for last season so I honestly didn't know what to expect. Then the unexpected happened. Nope, it isn't a zombie apocalypse. No, it ain't an alien invasion. Nope, it ain't Chef cooking edible food. It was Dawn hugging Scott. Man, that girl sure does like to hug. The look on Scott's face sure is funny though. Anyway Dawn had let go of Scott.

"I forgive you Scott. I've actually sensed your aura right before the challenge. It seemed greenish purple, which meant you felt guilt. You realize what you did was awful, and you wanted to make up for it. As long as you keep on improving, I accept your apology."

"Really, even after everything I've done?"

"If a person with a heart of gold views you as a friend, then so can I. And as that person once told me, we're not all perfect." I knew she was referring to me.

"Wow. Well, thanks Dawn. I promise to keep improving." Scott said with a smile.

"Of course." Dawn said also with a smile.

"I'm gonna go for a walk, catch you guys later." And with that, Scott walked out. Leaving the two of us alone.

"Still not sure on having a heart of gold?" Dawn asked me.

"Well, maybe a karat of gold." I joked as we both laughed. Soon after I saw Lindsay walking in and sitting down with us.

"Hi Duncan, hi Dawn."

"Hey/Greetings Lindsay." We both greeted in our own ways.

"I saw Scodd outside and asked him if you two were here."

"It's Scott, Lindsay." I told her.

"Oh right. Anyway, I wanted to know what happened to you guys during the challenge."

We all shared what we were up to in the challenge. I told them my side, once again with Mal. Lindsay mentioned mostly running in fear, how she was protecting Cameron throughout the challenge, and using a vine to swing over a cliff we're they met up with me and Dawn. I'm not sure how we got on the other side of the cliff, but I'm not gonna question it. Dawn explained how she was chased off by those squirrels that were with her when I found her, and kept trying to calm them down but it didn't work. She also mentioned how I helped her feel better after the attack, which I kinda wish she didn't.

"Awww, that was so nice of you Duncan." Lindsay said as she hugged me.

"Any person with a soul would have done the same." I mean really, I don't think even Heather would have just left her there.

"Attention everyone, it's time for the elimination ceremony. Please report to the elimination area." Guess that's our cue.

We're all now at the elimination area with the villains in the peanut gallery.

"I wish I was on the heroes team." I heard Gwen say as I was walking up to her.

"Aw cheer up pasty. The merge shouldn't be too far away. We'll be together and away from the villains soon." I told her. I really am getting better at this whole comforting thing.

"I guess." She sighed. Ok, maybe not that better. I went to sit with my team before Chris started talking."

"Now that you all are here, I have good news. Tonight, non of the heroes are going to get flushed." We all sighed of relief at this.

"So does that mean-" I started.

"That's right, this was a reward challenge. And the reward for the villains, is that Cameron is now on their team." And once again, cue synchronized gasping.

"What?! Why me?" Cameron said sounding panicked. Guess he's afraid on being on a team with almost all villains. Hey, being on the same team as Courtney would scare me too.

"I thought your reaction would be the funniest. And as always, I am as right as much as I tell the truth." Oh so we're lying now. I can't let that one sly.

"Oh really, like how you told us in Siberia that we'll have jackets?" I said.

"Or how when someone's eliminated they can't come back?" Gwen said.

"Or how you said the jumbo plane was safe, when it was a flying death trap." Leshawna said.

"Or how I was supposed to get my money from winning season 3, but never did?!" Heather yelled.

"Or how you had us go down into the mines for a challenge when you just wanted us to clear the waste to "get the feds of your back"." Scott said.

"Or how you say you're gonna give me a raise, but never do?!" That last one was Chef adding his two cents. Dude never let's that go.

"AAAnyway." Chris said practically ignoring everyone. "Cameron is now on the Villainous Vultures. Now, who's going to boney Island?"

"I'll go." Scott volunteered.

"What?! Why?" Courtney suddenly said sounding surprised.

"Sorry honey, gotta find that immunity idol." He said as he went with Chef to the boat of losers.

Now, it's time to say goodbye to Leshawna and Dawn. The boat of losers is their ride too."

All the heroes, and Gwen and Cameron are at the docks with Dawn, Leshawna, and Scott on the boat of losers. Lindsay had already said by to Leshawna and was with the rest of the heroes saying bye to Dawn.

"Bye Dawn, it was great meeting you." Lindsay said to Dawn.

"Bye Dawn, it was great seeing you again. Maybe we can see each other outside the show." Zoey said as her, Mike, and Cameron waved to her.

"Later Dawn. Nice meeting ya. Maybe we'll get in touch outside the show too." I said to her.

"It's been a pleasure to see or meet all of you. Good luck to you all and see you later." Dawn said to us as the boat sailed away. We watched the boat sail away to boney Island to drop off Scott. Some of the others went back and only me, Lindsay, and Gwen remained.

"So what happened with you guys during the challenge Pasty." I asked my pale faced girlfriend.

"A lot that I don't wish to talk about. Although Leshawna picking a fight with Heather and Alejandro was pretty cool. I'm going to go to bed now. Night guys." Gwen said heading back. Leaving me and Lindsay looking back at where the boat of losers sailed off to.

"I hope to see Dawn again. She was really cool." Lindsay told me.

"Ya, me too." I said looking back at her. She looked worried. "Are you ok?"

"Ya, I'm just worried about Cameron. He's kinda been like a little brother to me, and I've grown kinda protective of him since the challenge. I'm worried about him being with the villains." Lindsay told me still looking worried.

"I'm sure he'll be ok. He managed to survive and win a whole season with mutants. Plus he has Gwen on his team, so I'm sure he'll be just fine." I reassured Lindsay as we started heading back.

"Your right Duncan. He should be just fine." She said as she yawned. "I'm going to bed now, goodnight." She waved heading into the girl's side of the cabin as I went into the guy's side. I saw Mike already asleep and was about to head to bed when I noticed something sticking out under my pillow. Picking it up, I saw that it was a letter. I started reading.

"Dear Duncan,

I had my bird friend deliver this letter to your bunk. I wasn't aloud to talk about anything I new from watching the show to you guys, but Chris never said I couldn't write it. I know all about Mal. He is a great danger to everyone's safety, especially Mike. But I can sense a great purpose for you to fulfill throughout the season, especially in the finale. Until then, keep pushing forward. You will encounter obstacles throughout the journey. But like you told me, good things come from bad things. Embrace your heart of gold and use it to its full potential. Good luck, delinquent hero.

From, Dawn"

After reading the letter, I was starting to understand Dawn a bit more. And myself. Even though I like my bad boy status, I'm here for redemption. And that is what's going to happen. No more worrying about my image and what others think. I'm going to keep going forward, do what's right, and when the time comes, defeat Mal once and for all. And winning the money doesn't sound too bad either. And hey, Gwen didn't break up with me this time, that's gotta be a good sign. Anyway, time to sleep on this for now and get ready for tomorrow. Know Chris, I'm going to need the energy.

I'm sorry the chapter took so long. Writers block and laziness was winning the battle, but I won the war. Eventually anyway. Anyway I'll make sure the next chapter doesn't take too long.

I added Dawn into the episode because I remember reading a fanfic called, TDAS Dawncan- The Birth of a Brotherhood, and I loved Dawn amd Duncan's friendship in it so much that I had to add it somewhere here. And honestly, Dawn should have been in All Stars in my opinion, so I decided to give her some screentime for it here. And as for Leshawna, I never had any plans with her and just needed another cameo to be added. Sorry Leshawna fans if I got your hopes up. Anyway, I'll see you all in the next chapter.
