CSI CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION CSI
"I was doing something important. I can't remember what it was . . . " Nick frowned, looking about the break room. He picked up a folder, peering inside as if it might hold the answer.
"Could get me coffee," Catherine suggested with a playful gleam in her eye.
Nick ignored her, glaring about the room. "It was something important. I know it was."
It was at that moment Sara walked in with Greg in tow, and Nick's eyes lit up. He left, thanking Sara for reminding him and he should've remembered! Sara frowned after him, then looked to Catherine: "What was that about?"
Catherine shrugged, getting up to make her own coffee. She thought it was a good idea if Nick made her some. Then again, he liked all that sugar in his coffee. Ew.
Both women noticed Greg smirking. His hands were in his pockets, and he was rocking back and forth. When he saw he was being watched, Greg held up his hands.
"I know nothing," he insisted.
"Oh, really?" Catherine wondered. "Then why do you look so guilty?"
"I'm innocent, and when one is innocent, one appears even more guilty to those who want them to be guilty," Greg informed them. He seemed please with himself.
"Uhhhh huh," Sara nodded. "What did you two do?"
Greg winked at the two of them, then left the break room.
Two hours later Sara got the shock of her life. Grissom asked her to marry him.
"Okay, so what does that have to do with Nick and you?" Catherine questioned Greg and Nick as the three of them waited for Sara to stop kissing Grissom and come out of Grissom's office to tell them the news.
"What? Oh, right," Nick pointed to himself. "Had to get the ring. Completely forgot it was ready to be picked up today. See, if by some chance
Sara found out I went shopping for an engagement ring -"
"He'd just tell her he was looking to find a ring for his girlfriend . . . boyfriend . . . thing." Greg completed.
"Girlfriend, boyfriend, thing?" Catherine repeated.
"For all I know he could be sexually attracted to tree bark."
Greg's statement was met with two blank stares. He shrugged non-apologetically and was the first to congratulate Sara and Grissom.
