A/N ok, character death (not Harry or Draco) angst and really kinda sad. If it was mine Harry and Draco would have killed Voldy and Ginny long ago.
"There's nothing left Draco, nothing, it's all gone" Harry shouted, his eyes brimming with unshead tears.
"Yes there is, you just don't see it, look around you" Draco cried, watching the boy walk away "I'm still here, doesn't that mean anything to you, you told me, as long as one person was left to fight, you wouldn't give up, well I'm here and you've given up"
Draco let the tears fall, rain from storm cloud eyes. The raid on the light side was horrendous and had killed the entire order, not that there were many left, all accept Harry and Draco, who were left, strewn bodies all around them, those they loved and hated, admired and respected. Everything was gone, accept for them. The ministry was useless.
"I cant do it, I'm not a hero, I hate all of it, everyone that loves me dies because of me" Harry turned his back from the other boy and began walking away from the ruins of Hogwarts.
"So that's it then? They didn't die because of you Harry, they died for your cause, because they believed in something greater then themselves, that's all anyone can hope for in life, to believe in something" Draco looked up as the raven haired boy turned back to him walked forward slowly.
"What would you know about it?" He yelled, his emerald eyes flashing with guilt and sorrow.
"Because I would die for this cause, and I would die for you" Draco spat back. He felt a sharp pain as Harry slapped him, leaving a red mark marring his pale skin.
"Don't say that, never say that, I cant…not you too" Harry sobbed, finally breaking down, sinking to the floor amongst the dead and crying his heart out for everyone he'd lost, everyone but his one time enemy, and now…friend he supposed, lover he wished. Draco sank to the floor beside him and wrapped his arms tight around the smaller boy, to much death, to much war for anyone to take. They rocked together until Harry's tears stopped.
"We have to go on, if we don't, there isn't anyone else" Draco whispered.
"Don't leave me, please don't ever leave me" Harry sobbed, clutching at Draco's shirt as he felt Draco's hands run through his hair.
"I wont, I'll be right here, I promise" Draco fought with himself, if he did it, it might injure Harry's fragile mentel state, but something told him it was what they both needed.
"I love you, more then the world, I would do anything to make you happy, now and forever, and when all this is over, you'll be free of all of this" Draco felt Harry stiffen and he cursed himself for his stupid words until he felt a hand on his chin, and found himself staring into the eyes of the boy he would give the world to have. Without a word he captured the dark haired boy's lips, trying desperately to tell him without words that it would be ok, it wasn't over yet. It was desperate and needy, sorrow filled and harsh, but they both needed it. Harry broke away and stood, his eyes glazed over with a hard expression.
"We have to alert the ministry of what's happened and start to try and gather any other survivors" he said coldly.
"Lets go then" Draco said, his voice just as cold, he would be happy later, when the bodies were buried and the war was over, but for now, he had to fight, and he had to keep Harry fighting, because all a person can hold dear is a belief in something better, for the world and themselves. Draco, he believed in Harry, and that's all he needed.
