Becoming Part 2

"Claire! Give me ten seconds, please!" Eli half-screeched in desperation.

"Do you think the Titans are gonna let you rest?" the girl demanded, but subsided her attacks.

"Claire, I know this is how we trained, but this isn't us nor is it the Hero's Forge," Jim reasoned. Claire dropped her arms and glared at no one in particular.

"Fine. How else do you suggest we train them?" she asked.

"Er…"

"You have no idea, do you?"

"No," Jim admitted. "Sorry. I have never trained someone else to wield an amulet, and I haven't used these ones before. They each have different… perks. I learnt the ground of mine through experience so…"

"I agree with Jim," Aja said suddenly. "I think I have a pretty good hold on mine because of the training I've received in the past, and now as well."

"Aaarrrgghh's nearly got his too," Toby chimed in. "Just a little more pizzazz, ya know what I'm sayin'? Wingman?"

"'Pizzazzas'? What's 'pizzazzas'?" Aaarrrgghh said unhelpfully.

"Means awesome and epic. More or less," Toby added after seeing Blinky's 'excuse-me-have-you-read-the-dictionary' look.

"I'm not getting mine at all," Eli complained.

"Loosen up. Nature is imperfect," Nari encouraged. "It's like the water, I realise now. Flowing with a free spirit."

"You'll get it, mate," Douxie said.

After another unsuccessful hour of training, Jim called a break, slumping into the nearest chair.

"You okay?" Claire asked, taking a seat beside him. He glanced at her briefly, before sighing and looking down.

"Yeah," he replied.

"You're worried about losing the amulet forever if they don't work out theirs', aren't you?" she guessed. Jim nodded glumly. He admitted quietly to himself that although saving the world was their number one priority, he missed the warm pulse of the amulet in his hand.

"I just hope we can stop these Titans with or without it."

"Er, Jim, have a moment?" Douxie said, coming over.

"What's the matter?" The look on the wizard's face was easily read.

"We… might have a situation…"

"We managed to locate the 'heart of the universe!'" Blinky blurted out from behind Douxie.

"That's great!" Jim said.

"No, it's not great," Douxie said. "Because the Titans are all headed… towards Heartstone Trollmarket… in other words, Arcadia Oaks itself."

Why would they go there? Jim thought. Gears began turning aggressively in his head.

"The heart of the universe is the Heartstone," he finished.

"That… and the fact that we need the Krohnisfere to revive the amulet using the Heartstone as well," Blinky said. "Which is a stone that holds the essence of time."

"Which is being guarded by the Trolldragons leader. We don't have a chance against them!" Dousie concluded.

"We can't just sit around and do nothing. Trollhunters," Jim said, turning to face the others, "su—"

"Can I say it? Pleeeeeaaaase?" Toby asked.

"Er, sure, Tobes."

"Alright! Trollhunters, suit up! Avengers assemble! Wait, am I allowed to say that? It's not a crossov—" but he was cut off by the whirring of amulets.

"Okay, Trollhunters, quick review," Jim whispered as five of them stepped out of a portal, crouching down immediately. "Blinky, Archie, Douxie and I will go in and try to negotiate with Zong-Shi, meanwhile Claire…?"

"I'll be waiting in case you guys need back up or a quick getaway."

"Excellent. Steve—?"

"I know, buttsnack," came Steve's voice from Claire's walkie-talkie. "Me and Pepperjack'll wait as backup for a diversion."

"And me, Krel and Vex will be there if the Krohnisfere needs immediate extraction," Aja said.

"Great," Jim said. "Let's do this."

I know this chappie's a bit short, and I'm sorry, I'm trying to slowly get out if the momentum of my writer's block, I'll be posting another chapter shortly. This week, being the first of my holidays, I'm going to try and post one chapter of one of my stories each day if you're interested.

Thanks for the reviews, they pushed me to finish my WIPs!
