Hello and welcome to my first real work of fanfiction. This is a Crossover between Overlord and World of Warcraft.
There are some points I try to keep up with the story.
1. There is an OC created for this story. It's a mix of Ainz's Character with my twist.
2. I will play with the lore and power balance for Warcraft and Overlord. It's not very balanced on some occasions, so I decided to create a middle ground. The crossover is trying to play fantasy realism, so I reduced the amount of OP and Plot Armor when it comes to main characters. Side characters, if they are OP, like gods or something, that are outside of main Warcraft lore, will have little impact, and are probably more of a plot tool/side characters/narrators.
3. OCs planned for the story? Yes, they will be mixed up with existing characters. Your Overlord cast will show up in a new form, for example.
As it is my first real fanfic, I would love for you to comment and review this. Also, keep commenting later, as I appreciate the feedback, hate, or what you like. This makes me want to create it more.
I must also add, English is not my first language, but I'm learning it to be on a decent level, but still, if you find some grammatical errors or something of grammar in corrections, comment on it. I try to make as little of them as possible.
In addition, I am open to any ideas for the story, character development or anything at a later time. I might use them in the story. Any points that also make the story weaker are ok to be posted, but be cultural in the comments, if you want to offer a solution or advice on something, I reply to every PM, so you can send them.
Okay, now I'm going silent. Enjoy the story!
WARNING
For people who want to start reading the story, this is NOT a typical Overlord story, with OP Nazarick influencing the world. This story has a different approach, a long build-up, and follows few new rules. There will be also changed elements of the story, that will show up later.
Also as an author note, first few chapters might contain elements that might be seen as cringy or as cliche, but I advise to move forward with the story if you find the story setting as interesting.

On the Throne of Kings, sitting silently in the room, along with the fellow NPCs, sits a lonely master of Ainz Ooal Gown, named Lord Momonga, the Undead Overlord.
He thinks about his life, as a rat working in a megacorporation, without any friends or family. He was alone. He gave up everything for this day. For this very game. There was no world for him other than Yggdrasil. He lives in a sad reality. In a time where the air is poisonous, where food is chemicals and artificial vitamins, in a rotten world where corporations rule over the world and make the people slaves of their reality, not giving a thought about the state of life and of their fellow workers.
He lives in a world where education is for those that are either influential, or chosen by people of power or have worked so hard that they were able to afford it, spending so much time in their respective fields. Education was a gift that Satoru Suzuki was blessed by his mother, before she died for overworking and preparing his favorite meal for him.
And now, he was irritated by it.
23.57.00
Momonga was thinking about Yggdrasil, where he spent his best years of life, in a game that satisfied his empty existence.
He recalled Ainz Ooal Gown, a guild he was invited in by the hero wearing white armor, when he was saved from player killers. Lord TouchMe, he was the one that introduced him to the guild. The place where he met his best friends, comrades in the game and beyond. It was here, where he broke from being anti-social and he opened up to other people, where he learned how to interact with them. It was this place, where he was chosen as guildmaster and was able to develop the ways of a leader.
He thought about the Great Tomb of Nazarick, the unconquered fortress of his guild, a place, where he was now sitting, awaiting the end. No one was able to get to the 10th floor, not once. Even the raid group of 1500 players and NPCs were unable to reach the 9th floor. Nazarick was conquered only once, by the original team he was apart of. Nine's Own Goal, being spotted before the creation of the full guild. And now, it will be taken by the time that was left in the servers today.
And he was mad because of that.
23.58.00
Sitting on top of his throne, he looked at the Throne Room. He looked slowly, giving time to spot every detail. The many great chandeliers, made of rare gems and ores. The massive pillars, that we're splitting the room. The great gate, with which he entered the room, that stood at the grand entrance to the hall. The royal decorative carpet, recumbent from the doors to the throne. And the banners.
Ah yes, the banners. Showing the symbols of every member of the 41 characters from Ainz Ooal Gown.
"A relic of the past," said Momonga.
Momonga looked at the banners, naming every one of them.
"Me."
"TouchMe."
"Shijuuten Suzaku."
"Akonoro Mochimochi."
And like that, he continued.
"Herohero, Peroroncino, Bukubukuchagama, Tabula Smaragdina, Warrior Takemikazuchu...No one lasted till the end."
His avatar looked at the ceiling, he liked to relax his neck. Then he glanced at the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown. This weapon, the guild's symbol, was created by the hard work of every guild member. Many of them took their free time in jobs, moved their private lives to the side, to help create this item. He was proud of it.
But there was no one to cheer with him. The last was Herohero, but he had to log off, because of the job, that was slowly killing him.
"God Dammit!" shouted Momonga.
He cursed the people of Earth! Civilization created the state, where everything that was normal many years before, was now destroyed, corrupted. He could only look at the world that might once look like that in videogames, old movies, and photos.
23.59.00
Momonga then decided to open his guildmaster's menu.
He wants to look at what he was leaving behind.
One last time look at Nazarick, and what it was. He has already walked on the floors of his guild base, but he had to do it one last time. He looked at the NPC list:
Shalltear Bloodfallen - Guardian of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor. Strongest NPC in 1v1 combat. Made by Pereronchino.
Gargantua - Guardian of the 4th floor. Siege Golem given to the guild by the devs, as he was part of the game.
Cocytus - Guardian of the 5th floor. A true representation of the word "Warrior". Created by the Warrior Takemikazuchi.
Aura Bella Fiora & Mare Bello Fiore. - The elven twins and guardians of the 6th floor. Dear creations of Bukubukuchagama.
Demiurge - Guardian of the 7th floor. The mastermind of Strategy, the great demon lord of Ulbert Alain Odle.
Victim - 8th-floor guardian. The Secret Trump Card that surprised the army of Players.
Pleiades Sisters and Sebas Tian - 9th-floor guardians. The Last Defense. The nice-looking last stand cards. Sisters created by many, standing with the Dragon Monk of TouchMe.
Albedo - The Guardian Overseer. Strongest NPC in Nazarick. Made by the setting maniac Tabula Smaragdina himself.
The other one on the list was his creation - Pandora's Actor. Nigredo and Rubedo, and the other NPCs were made to make Nazarick a perfect roleplay base.
Those were the NPCs of his friends. This was the last day for them. For their existence...
23.59.30
"It was nice, but as always, every dream has to meet it's end." he said to himself, sitting on the glorious throne of kings.
He looked at the NPCs in the room. The six maids, the Butler of Steel Sebas and her beauty Succubus in a white robe, Albedo.
"Bow Down." he recalled the voice command.
23.59.50.
23.59.51.
23.59.52.
23.59.53.
"It was wonderful, while it lasted. Too bad I have to wake up at 4 a.m. tomorrow to work."
23.59.54.
23.59.55.
23.59.56.
"If only I could never wake up again. Don't go to work. To being alone again."
23.59.57.
"I'm disgusted by the human race. We destroyed our home and we let ourselves be enslaved. If only I could..."
23.59.58.
"Start again somewhere else."
23.59.59.
"Goodbye Yggdrasil. Goodbye Ainz Ooal Gown. Goodbye Momonga. We will never meet again."

At this moment, he expected a pop-up message informing him, that he has been logged out by force, but there was no information, only darkness around him.
"Could it be that the shutdown of the servers has been...?" he tried to say, but he was silenced.
At that very moment, the world started to spin into wider darkness.
There was nothing. No Great Tomb of Nazarick, no game menu, no Momonga. There was something wrong with the world. It looked like it ceased to exist. But where the hell was he?!
There was no other console information. His Game set wasn't responding.
He tried to turn to the side, to see what was around, but he found himself unable to move. It didn't make much of a difference, as there was only darkness around him. An endless void stretching for every way he could imagine.
He didn't know if he was moving or not. There was nothing that would suggest if time existed or not. No force he could fill on his body.
"Satoru Suzuki, It's a pleasure to hear you boy. I see you came here with the request. Start again somewhere else" Momonga heard a voice coming out of nowhere.
Satoru, confused from the situation as he was, tried to do something, defend himself from the unknown person, whoever or whatever could it be, but then again realized he was not able to move.
"You are scared because I know your real name, little one? Don't worry about it, I am not here to hurt you." stated calmly the user of the unknown voice, sounding neither like a female or a man.
"Where am I?! Who are you?!" shouted Satoru to the void, feeling threatened because he was unable to do anything. Because he didn't knew what was going on.
An echoing laugh waved around the void, penetrating the endless empty space around.
"Could it be that you are scared, Momonga? A great leader of Ainz Ooal Gown, the guild master of Nazarick, has shown the piece of fear in his soul? Or is it that you showing your inner human fears, of the unknown, or being powerless in the grander scale" asked the voice now more masculine in nature, in an irritating tone.
"You ask me, who I am? Well, if you are willing to talk with me, I should give myself a name."
Suddenly, the whole scenery changed. The darkness vanished partly. He realized he was still in his game avatar, Momonga, the Undead Overlord from Yggdrasil. Was it a new event? But no, it would look a whole lot differently.
Now, he was sitting at his Throne of Kings, but there was no Nazarick around him, just an empty space. He was floating on a small, grassy rock, that was cut clean. The grass moved around, like there was wind when in reality, there was none. Yet, he was able to feel it.
It felt like he was somewhere, but there was still nothing. He looked forward.
In the straight line, ten meters from him, on a throne similar to his, he spotted the mysterious figure.
He looked at him. He was a boy, by the looks of it around the age of 15, but he looked very feminine. He had white skin, looking like an Albino, and he wasn't really built up.
From his face, it was hard to decide. From one side, it looked like a girl, with long silvery hair, just like a full moon. On the other side, it was short, with a deep dark but short haircut, cut in a perfect line. The face of this character was unknown, as it was hidden away, in the mask that reminded him of the Ancient Greeks.
The left side was the happiness of grotesque, with a smile of a broken skull. The right was of sadness but was filled with a mane of rainbow neon symbols or more like memories of old times.
This strange character was clothed in a military uniform, one that was found commonly on battlefields of World War III. Next to him, a dark staff with a rainbow orb on the end. It gave an effect of souls being captive, just like the Staff of AOG did.
"Heh, It seems like the guild master of Nazarick and the former salaryman has finally woken up. Hello there, Momonga or Satoru, whatever you prefer" said the strange individual.
"Could you please, with all honors, enlighten me on where the hell are we and who are you?!" Said an annoyed but curious Momonga, being helpless in his understanding, trying to act similar to his kidnapper.
The mysterious person looked at him. He stretched on his throne, mumbling to himself before replying.
"I don't know which part of the question I should answer first? Let's start with who am I. I like this question, as it's very philosophical." He made a move like he would want to twist his hands.
"I have many names, most of them I just gave myself. You can call me many names. I would call myself an all-powerful and glorious god, but it would suck, I can think of better answers than that, I just like to think of myself as superior.
Look at me as an author of the story, a great writer of worlds, but many like me thought that my way of doing is bad, so don't take that title too seriously. In honesty, this would show a lack of taste? I might be a god, but to think of myself as one who hasn't seen anyone who could rival me, would be foolish. Just between you and me, I am a God, and you are one who cries for help. Don't worry, I won't hurt you while we are here.
But well, you want some name for me, to address me by. You have gods down on Earth, don't you? It would be expected for me to steal one of their names, hah! But I am not that cheap, even if many of them sound cool. I was once using this approach and I found a lot of hate after it, so, I call myself Szreder, my original name. But for you, my friend, you can call me Being S! Like, it's impossible someone would use that type of name!" So-called "Being S" said in a very chaotic way.
He made a little break, with which he summoned a glass of orange juice in his hand, drinking it with a plastic straw while his mask was still there.
He offered one to the now observing player of Yggdarsill, but he refused with his skeleton hands.
"Oh, much better. Now, to answer the second question, welcome to the Eternal Prison, also called Nowhere."
The empty pupils of Momonga glowed red, due to the shock.
"Prison, what do you mean prison!?" Momonga hits the throne of his anger and surprise.
Being S smiled at the reaction.
"It seems I wasn't clear, apologies. Sorry for making such a mistake. This is your eternal prison, a prison of your Mind, Satoru Suzuki. You see, you died buddy." said the S.
"What?!" loudly shouted Satoru.
"Just kidding, don't worry. But you will be dying. Well, but I have an offer for you. I have taken an interest in you, Satoru, and there is a plan I have written just for you.
You see, I, being that could call myself a god, want to create the next scenario for the collision of the worlds, and I need a subject to do that"
"What do you mean?! You say I am about to die?!" shouted now an even louder Momonga, standing up and trying to leave into the nothingness-filled void.
"YOU NOT GOING ANYWHERE." said S in a twisted voice. It was more terrifying of the nightmare demon than the human-looking being. The fact that he twisted his head while saying this didn't help.
"Now, where was I." he now continued normally."I will say what awaited you, Satoru. You would wake up in the real world, without Yggdrasil. You would work to your death, which would not take long, considering you were low in the social hierarchy." He added.
Momonga looked hurt. He spoke the truth. At least, part of it.
The Overlord sat calmly, deciding to listen to the S.
"There was also another fate. You were to be trapped in Yggdrasil, in the form of your undead avatar. But the twist is, you would live only as long as in your human life, as with the death of your human body, you would lose the connection. You would slowly perish, Satoru, leaving only the Undead in charge." He said, stopping just for a moment, somehow unsure.
"However, in the glorious turn of events, you haven't lost your connection with the body, which gives us some space. I did not expect it at first, but I planned over it anyway. And because I am bored, I offer you a one-lifetime deal, for free." He said with a twisted smile made by part of his mask.
"Deal?" Asked Satoru.
"Yes, deal. I will grant you a new life in another world. Not touched by destructive forces of civilization, at least for now. A world of magic and fantasy, where you could be a magician, an adventurer, or something else. Where civilization will not progress to the point of self-destruction. I will send you to the world I am familiar with, as I saw many of the tests, as I spend a lot of time working with it, but I will change a few rules, so you and I don't get bored:
First, I won't let you or the world be destroyed by greater powers in seconds, as it would be unfair. Not that it won't be possible, but I will give you some breathing room.
I will also observe your life there, influencing some events or stories that might take place. You will get used to it, and to the roleplay.
For your sake, I will mix some of your Yggdrassil rules and mechanics with this New World, so you won't start with zero knowledge about it. You will just have to find the connections, and learn them again"
Momonga was sitting at the throne, thinking hard.
"It seems like a great offer, but what do you get for it? No one offers heaven without something in return. So, where is the catch?" Asked Momonga, looking at the mask of S.
"Hehe, smart guy. But it would surprise you, that I want nothing in return. The show created by your life will be enough satisfaction for me. I am a game master here, I might throw some, like youth would say, unwanted bullshit on you when it's all too good. Or I might not." said S with a smile.
The great skeletal Overlord of Nazarick sighed.
"And what if I refuse?"
"I wouldn't advise on that, but if you want, I can send you to your human body, wipe your memory of me, and you will live your pathetic life as a human."
"It's going in or lose. Am I right?" he asked.
"Indeed," S replied.
Momonga, though for some time, but in the end agreed with the strange person. He had so little to lose! He hated his life. His job. He had no family left. He lived in bad conditions. Besides his friends, which he loved in his heart, he had no reason to return.
"Then, I accept your offer, S. I choose a new life," Satoru replied.
Behind his mask, S smiled wide, amused, with an almost sadistic look, but one that shows genuine happiness.
"Good. I will now set the setting. I will create a new body for you, mixing the body, mind, and soul of Satoru Suzuki and Momonga, with a new guest coming. This mix will be reborn in the new body, in a new timeline for the universe, with you feeling every part. You will be able to form your new personality independently.
Second, I will lock any godly beings, that would disturb you, creating an end of the world in seconds scenario. We don't do that here. Of course, for some time only.
We don't want to make sure you lose, but in time, you will have to face those who challenged this world in history. The last and final point, you have one life, but, you can cheat death, and if you do, good for you, get all the immortality you want. Got it?!" Being S asked.
"Yes, I am ready. Let's get started," stated Momonga, but when S started chanting in silence, he realized one thing.
"Wait, in what type of world will I be reborn in?!" He asked, now not ready.
A small chuckle left Being S mask.
"Long as 78 years in service, I will send you to the world that holds the title of MMORPG for the longest time. Did youngsters like you heard about the game called World of Warcraft? No? Oh, sorry then boy, have to go. Will send you a book with some tips in the future" Said S, snapping his fingers and sending Satoru down into the void.
"This is where all the fun begins. Let's start, Satoru. We shall see what will this story bring to you" said S, with a devilish smile, sitting on his throne, looking to the void.
Now, this is the end of the first chapter and the opening for the new series. I hope you will stay and enjoy the future story. Also, I appreciate the feedback, so let me know what you think. Please, just don't throw pointless hate. If you want to say what is bad, say it with respect, not as pointless hate. Give feedback, and I will have a look at how to improve.
This crossover/fanfic will be updated irregularly, mainly because I have a lot of work in real life, such as school and preparation for the future. Still, I hope I will have time to continue this (possibly) great series.
Sorry for all kinds of errors that will show up in the future xd.
(Now, this chapter was rewritten, as after learning how to do them better and getting to know the problems I have created, I decided to rewrite a few of the first chapters. IF you've read it in the original, it was a lot worse, so I tried to improve it. IF your reading it after it was changed, good for you xd. Anyway, I want to thank Loa of Lore, who is my editor and beta reader. With you, this thing is a lot more enjoyable. Thank you man.)
Update 06.02.22
So, to clarify, I spoke with the author of another Overlord of Warcraft story name Zhorvak.
1. No, those stories aren't connected. I took Overlord into the Warcraft route, while he seems to have taken reversed. Those stories aren't connected in any way.
2. No bad blood, please. I have stated that I have no problem with the title being identical, as when naming Zhorvak didn't notice that title that I used was the same xd. If he decides to change anything regarding the title, I have no influence over that.
His story:
