It's time for the next episode.
"On to episode 3," Dawn said.
"Looks like it's Ice Ice Baby," Anne Maria said.
"I love that song," Jo said.
"Vanilla Ice was one cool dude," Brick said.
"I've heard of that song too," Dawn said.
"Still can't believe the title is like a song reference," Mike said.
"Me neither," Cameron said.
The episode opens with the contestants eating their breakfast. Sam tries some of the gruel but spits it out onto Scott's face, realizing why "gruel" rhymes with "cruel."
He tries to apologize, but Scott retaliates by throwing his bowl at Sam's face.
"What kind of breakfast was that?" Mike asked. "No wonder Sam couldn't take it."
"I know," Sam said. "Guess I deserved what Scott did to me after spitting in his face."
"Not everyone agrees," Jo said.
"Sorry Sam," Scott said.
"It's okay," Sam commented. "I just don't like getting food on my face."
"I can see why," Dakota said.
Scott: [confessional; laughs] Wimp. I grew up on a dirt farm, I can always chump on a claude if I get the munchies. [crunches on a big lump of earth and all of his teeth fall out]
"Ooh!" Everyone winced.
"That's not cool," Zoey said. "Can't believe all of your teeth fell out."
"It was just awful!" Scott exclaimed. "And I wasn't even at the dentist."
"It really is sad," Jo said.
Cameron is then seen choking over the fumes of Anne Maria's hairspray. She then apologizes and tells him that at least his lungs are waterproof now.
"How is that supposed to help?" Zoey asked.
"If he falls into some water again," Anne Maria started answering. "He might breathe."
"I don't know if that's good," Cameron said. "However, I forgive you."
He gave Anne Maria a hug.
"I'm glad we're back together," Dakota said.
Everyone else nodded in agreement. Next, Brick and Jo are seen competing to finish their food first, but Brick swallows and chokes on his spoon in the process.
"And that's why not everything should be a competition between the two of you," Scott said.
"Were you okay?" Sam asked.
Jo: Easy jarhead, don't wet your panties.
Jo successfully gets the spoon out of Brick's mouth. Unfortunately, it hits Mike, who admits to liking waffles, causing him to transform into Chester, amusing Zoey in the process by his "act," hoping he really is joking.
Chester: Darn kids. Back in my day, we ate with our hands like decent folk.
"Thanks for getting the spoon out of me, Jo," Brick said.
"No problem," Jo commented. "There was no way I would let you die from choking like that, and sorry about the fork hitting you, Mike."
"Hey," Mike responded. "I know you didn't mean to hit me.
Mike: [confessional] Okay. I admit it! I, I have multiple personality disorder! I tried to control them, but they just won't listen to me!
"That must really stink," Sam said.
"I know," Mike said. "It's just as horrible as Scott losing his teeth."
"You don't have to tell us twice," Dawn said.
Lightning is then shown choking on his gruel, and Dawn comes to save him.
Dawn: Don't worry! I'll save you.
"Wow!" Everyone except Dawn said at once.
"That was incredible," Jo said.
"Did one of your therapy sessions involve doing that?" Anne Maria asked.
"A few," Dawn answered.
Lightning thanks Dawn for saving him, and Dawn responds by saying that she wasn't saving him, but a beetle that Lightning had accidentally swallowed.
"I actually saved both," Dawn said.
"Of course, you would be one to care about that stuff," Jo said.
Meanwhile, Cameron sees what he recognizes as a "oppotamus ovaticus" — a big-brained mouse — crawl into the main lodge, thinking it's cute.
"I kind of think it's cute too," Dakota said.
"I agree," Zoey said. "But why didn't you let us play with it?"
However, when he tries to pet it, the mouse levitates in the air with telekinetic powers, causing him and all of the contestants to run outside.
"That's why," Cameron said. "And it threw the whole fridge out."
"Okay!" Jo said. "That was really scary."
"I'm glad none of the players from the first 3 seasons were there that day," Mike said.
"That thing almost made me wet my pants again," Brick said. "And it wasn't even nighttime."
"Why did you have to do that to our beloved animals, Chris?" Zoey asked. "Why!?
The first part of the gang's next challenge gets ready to begin. Chris sends everyone to Mount Looming Tragedy, which tires everyone except Brick and Jo. This also makes Cameron puke in a bush.
"That one, not my fault," Jo said.
"Of course it wasn't," Cameron said.
"You guys should definitely spend more time outdoors," Scott suggested.
"Maybe we can," Mike said.
"I'm up for it," Zoey said. She went over to bring some chips for the gang.
"After seeing that," Sam said. "I think whatever break we get can't come soon enough."
Everyone else nodded in agreement. For part one, the gang had to climb the mountain either using their hands, or anything guarded by a mutant beetle.
"That looks creepy," Mike said.
"As if a normal beetle doesn't give enough of a fright," Dakota commented.
"That alone freaks me out a little," Brick said.
Unfortunately, Cameron has trouble from the start, not being able to get a few feet off the ground, while Zoey, who is trying to motivate Cameron, is rescued from a breaking tree branch by Mike.
Zoey: Thanks.
"Thanks for the encouragement, Zoey," Cameron said. "But what about you?"
"Mike caught me," Zoey told him. "I couldn't thank him enough."
"Anything for a friend like you," Mike said.
The 2 hugged it out.
"I love these 2," Jo said.
"Me too," Dakota said. "You two really are meant for each other."
"We know," Zoey and Mike said together.
Jo: Move it maggots! [to Brick] My parents made me a climbing wall playpen.
"I find that hard to argue with," Anne Maria said.
"Me too," Brick said. "I remember my days rock climbing with the military."
"Must have been loads of fun," Jo said.
"It was," Brick said. "Except for the body's dislocating part. You're about to see why."
"And that should be any second now," Dawn said.
Brick: Impressive. I conquered the rock at a sergeant junior boot camp. Dislocated my hip getting my obstacle course badge. Check this out.
"Not everyone likes a show-off," Sam said.
"I can see, now," Brick said.
While trying to show Jo, his arm dislocates.
Jo: Nice, and when did you learn to dislocate your arm?
Brick: Just now.
"That had to hurt," Anne Maria said.
"It stayed that way for a while," Brick said. "Who knew showing off could have painful consequences?"
"You're telling me," Scott commented.
"Now I see why they called it Revenge of the Island," Mike said.
"Me too," Zoey said.
Lightning: Shazoom! Sha-booby!
Scott: *While shocking Lightning* Shut your mouth for once!
"Yeah!" Everyone else said together.
"Why can't he be quiet like Beverly?" Jo asked.
"That's what I want to know," Cameron said.
"That Lightning dude needs to take a cue from B and keep quiet for a while," Mike said.
The only one yet to start is Anne Maria.
Chris: And will the lady be participating?
"That's what I wanna know," Jo said.
"Why didn't you start yet?" Dawn asked.
"You don't wanna be the one leaving the team into losing, right?" Mike asked.
"I agree," Zoey said.
Anne Maria: Have you seen my nails? These are why I drive with my feet!
"That doesn't look so cool," Zoey commented.
"And also dangerous," Mike said.
"Why would you do that?" Sam asked.
"I used to," Anne Maria said. "But after seeing the police nearby, I thought maybe it isn't worth it."
"Is that why you don't drive anymore?" Sam asked.
"I may be a rich person," Anne Maria said. "But I don't own any fancy cars. It's just an everyday Toyota."
She then showed everyone her driver's license.
"Cool," everyone said.
"I know," Anne Maria said. "Meanwhile, you can thank Jo for getting me to climb the mountain."
The others knew they were gonna see why Jo, out of all people. As the challenge continued, Chris then signals Chef to start dropping ice blocks, which hit Lightning and Scott back down the mountain side, while Jo uses reverse psychology by angering Anne Maria, prompting her to climb the cliff in order to reach Jo.
"Ice blocks?" Scott asked. "I don't see that being cool."
"Now I see why they called the episode, Ice Ice Baby," Jo said.
Everyone giggled over that.
Jo: Gotta get up pretty early Chef.
"I trained well hard for challenges like this," Jo said.
"You sure proved you have," Anne Maria said.
"So why Jo?" Dawn asked. Everyone else wanted to know.
"Here comes why Jo," Anne Maria said.
Jo: Hey! Hey poof-head! Too bad they don't make spray on style. You could use some.
Jo's reverse psychology angered Anne Maria, who calls it on and begins climbing, knocking a few ice cubes away while doing so.
"Reverse psychology works every time," Jo said.
Anne Maria: Hey! Quit it! I'm coming for you pastey!
"Reverse psychology?" Scott asked.
Cameron told them, "You want someone to do something, but are pretty sure they won't do it even if you ask nicely. So you try to trick the person into it by asking or telling them to do the exact opposite of what you really want them to do."
"And it got Anne Maria climbing," Jo commented. "I got a big lesson about that in high school."
"I remember learning a thing about it," Zoey said. "Got tricked into joining a club for Hispanic people."
"Well," Dawn said. "For once, we should thank you for that, Jo."
"That's one way to get more people participating," Brick said.
Jo: *In the confessional* Every team has a weak link. As leader, it's my job to find that link and manipulate it into doing whatever I want. Huh, leadership has its perks.
"You sure did a good job finding one of mine," Anne Maria said. "You're one smart player."
"Yeah," Scott said. "No wonder you got to the final 5 that season."
"And being on Total Drama All Stars would've been cooler if Brick was there with me and not Alejandro," Jo commented.
"I wish I was there for the All Stars season," Dawn said.
"I agree," Sam said. "Brick would've had a better performance than me."
"I should've been there too, and not Lightning," Anne Maria commented.
Later on, B makes a plan to use a couch as a rocket, which his teammates go along with.
"A couch as a rocket?" Brick asked.
"That's one way to recycle old furniture," Scott said.
"I like it," Cameron said. "Just wish it came with a seatbelt."
"And not a booster seat?" Scott asked.
"Hey!" everyone else said with disappointment.
"Sorry," Scott said. "But you know it's true."
Jo was able to make it up the mountain first, but the Toxic Rats get their whole team to the top first, although Scott falls on the ground in the process.
Scott: *In the confessional* Okay, seriously. Beverly the explosives expert mime has to go!
The Rats win the first part of the challenge, which angers Jo, since Chris specifies she needed her whole team with her.
"Why didn't you tell me that before we started climbing, Chris?" Jo asked.
"Looking back now, I wanna know the same thing," Anne Maria said.
"Same here," Scott said. "And there was also something about Beverly. I love his brain power, but I hate going with ideas that involve explosions."
"That was some nasty fall you had there," Mike said.
"I agree," Zoey said.
AN: Because I'm back in college again until further notice, some of these may be split into 2 parts. Part 2 to Ice Ice Baby is coming soon. Plus, don't forget, after part 2, just 1 more episode until the first break.
