Lilith was nervous. She constantly kept rubbing the pants of her dark brown suit. She never really did like wearing dresses, so her mom pulled this old thing out. Lilith climbed into the backseat of the old 1970's dodge charger and her parents drove her to the field they were launching the fireworks.
"Ready for your date, Lilith?"
"Robert, she's already nervous, she doesn't need you to say stuff like that." Linda said.
"She has nothing to worry about." Robert said, stopping at the stop sign, "Because if anyone hurts my baby girl, I'll get my M-16 out. I killed a lot of Viet Cong with it, I have no problem shooting anyone that hurts Lilith."
"Robert, she's shaking now." Linda said, "Stop making her nervous."
They made it to the field and let Lilith out.
"Alright, Honey, we're just going to be down the road, watching the fireworks from a restaurant. We'll be back afterwards." Linda said.
"Okay."
"We love you."
Lilith blushed.
"I love you, too." Lilith said.
Lilith waved as her parents drove away. Lilith let out a breath and started walking towards the dirt path that Camila would meet her at. After walking, and kicking a few lose stones, she found a temporary table. On the table, was Camila.
"Hi, Lily." Camila said.
"H-h-hi, Cam." Lilith said.
Lilith sat next to Camila, blushing furiously. Camila looked at the night sky and smiled.
"I always loved the night. The stars are just incredible." Camila laid down on the table, just staring at the night sky, "You know, I always had dreams of moving away, going somewhere warm and sunny, like California, Florida, the Carolina's or something like that, but... I just can't imagine seeing a sky like that anywhere else."
Lilith laid next to Camila, looking at the sky. Lilith saw a shooting star and understood what Camila meant, the sky here was much calmer and more beautiful than the Boiling Isles. Lilith looked at Camila, the moonlight reflecting off her skin, making her look like an angel. Lilith looked towards the ground, smiling a little at the thought of Camila.
'Okay, you can do this. Just tell her you love her.' Lilith thought.
Lilith let out a breath and turned to look at Camila.
"Camila, I-"
A loud noise went off in the sky.
"Oh, the fireworks are starting!" Camila said.
Lilith's shoulders dropped, all the courage she had, ready to tell Camila about her feelings, just left. She looked up at the sky, seeing the large explosion of color in the sky.
'At least I can look at the second most beautiful thing in the Human World.' Lilith thought, looking at Camila, 'While sitting next to the most beautiful thing in the Human World.'
Lilith looked at the sky and smiled. She saw fireworks in the Boiling Isles, but with everything there, it's really numbing compared to here. Everything is calm here, everything is... nice. After the fireworks, Camila and Lilith got up and began to walk away.
"Hey, Lilith." Camila said, "Let's do this again sometime."
"Y-y-yeah, okay."
Camila walked over and kissed Lilith's cheek, making Lilith's pale skin turn bright pink.
"See you later."
Lilith stood there for a minute, as Camila left, before she snapped out of it and went back the way she came. She saw her parents car roll up and she climbed into the back seat.
"How was it, Lilith?" Linda asked.
"It was..." Lilith touched the area Camila kissed, "Nice."
