It Happened Tonight
It happens every so often, I can feel it stirring inside me. It digs and claws, throwing my body into unbearable pain. It pushes out on my body, and I suffer unbearable pain. It pushes out on me changing me, forming me to its will. My body becomes his, now I am the one trapped inside. I used to fight it, I used to struggle and scream. I used to try, and fight it. But tonight, now I know, there is no reason to fight, it is stronger, it has won. Now I don't care when it comes out, it's only fair. I have control most of the time, and I'm the weaker one. Tonight is its night I won't fight it anymore. It runs though the trees I know where it is going, it goes here every time. It stops at the edge of the cliff the moon is in front of it. A feeling overwhelms me, I also feel drawn to the moon, the moon calls to me, to us. He, not it, he brings our head back, and together we howl at the moon. Together we run through the woods, together we hunt and together we eat. However, tonight he won't return home, we won't prowl back into the yard, I on all fours will return to my room. As for the next night, I will be the only one howling at the moon.
